Went on a walk with my dad and his dogs today and on the way back to his house I started to tell him the story of Jumbo the elephant. I don’t remember the last time I held his attention like this (we love to interrupt each other and fight the other one for the metaphorical mic). When I finished he said, “Wow. That is a very sad story. I will always remember this sad story you just told me.” Made me laugh. Sometimes I think he forgets what I told him as soon as I say it. Glad to leave a marker.

But seriously, elephants deserved so much more.

🇵🇷Me: It was a real treat for “Astro Bot” fans, but also throwback for all of things PlayStation throughout history. So its no wonder why it would be on the list for my elephant character’s pleasure. Even Bubba Bubbaphant find it exciting after seeing him in his elephant robot costume. You could say he’d invented it; hints by his CN character’s cosplay, but guess it gotten him way too excited a bit. 😅

Day 28 - Jumbo (Elephant)

Decided to do the Inktober Challenge this month, doing my Simple Things drawings - which I haven't done in a few years!

Feels nice to do traditional ink drawings again.

JUMBO

At first, I wanted to draw an elephant. But I didn't like the concept I had. So I decided to go with a different elephant concept, the logo of the company Jumbo.

It's a Dutch brand that makes all types of games. It has board games, an educational product line for children, strategic games, trivia questions, etcetera.

I was so close to completing this year's inktober on time, but I got sick.. Damn, so close..

Jumbo, “The King of Elephants” was tragically killed when he was struck by a Grand Trunk Locomotive in St. Thomas Ontario, on September 15th, 1885. In 1985 on the 100th anniversary of Jumbo's death, the City of St. Thomas dedicated a 38 ton statue as a tribute to the most famous elephant who ever lived.
