do we have any information on ancient Egyptians falling for their animal headed gods?
Unfortunately no, I haven’t had time to really look. I think the best I have is perhaps writings on the fertility and sexuality gods within Egypt. Something like that, however, sounds anthropological/sociological, as it focuses on the individual and how they relate to said culture. If anyone has any tips on where to look on that topic, lemme know! I’d be happy to look into it and pass it along

Set and Horus after millennia realizing that they have feelings for each other. Set being disgusted and embarrassed of himself because that is the man who stole the throne from him. Who embarrassed and degraded him in front of the rest of the Deities. Yet, thinking about how Horus tasted keeps him up at night, and only the fact that he is trying to hold onto any sliver of pride is why he hasn’t said or done anything about it yet.
Horus remembering how Set sounded over him when he was pretending to be asleep. Remembering the way his moans sounded and how hot his body felt against his. He can’t even look at him now because it’s all he hears each time he speaks.
The rest of the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses being annoyed because it’s been obvious and they thought this was some kind of prolonged angry flirting.

Planning on reading all of the riordanverse books this summer, starting tomorrow with the lightning thief and i know it’s going to be nostalgic as heck („ಡωಡ„)
Really looking forward to falling in love with these books all over again! (and to falling down a fanfiction rabbit hole)

been thinking a lot lately on what it takes to really sustain a movement. I think USAians expect protests, boycotts, and letters to be met with instant results, and when this doesn't happen, there's helplessness, burnout, and the movement is quietly dropped...
as we approach the year of the dragon, the hydra comes to mind.
over 30,000 innocent Palestinians are now gone, on our tax dollars, with no end in sight. now more people than ever realize that our representatives do not represent us, or care to. we are financing our own destruction, and we are running out of time.
so what does it really take to build a new world? who do we need? drawing on those who did it best (the global south truly has all the answers), these were my conclusions, but please tell me if you have any notes.
all I know is that our feelings of helplessness are by design. we cannot do it alone. it will not happen overnight. when one head tires, there must be two others to take it's place. happy early new year. we all have a role to play. which one are you?
