⚠️this is a yandere oc (and i only like yanderes in fiction dw lmfao)⚠️
More info under cut!!
Jiu is your childhood friend -- he's always been more soft spoken as a child, so you often stood up for him and supported him.
He has an extremely strict father who thinks that boys can't dress up/be pretty/etc. (toxic masculinity vibes) but you've supported him and let him indulge in his interests (which is why he likes you so so so much).
When he was around 15, he began creating a social media presence and now has enough money to live alone (so he doesn't have to contact his father).
Initially, Jiu dressed up in feminine clothes/as a woman because he just felt that women had more fashion options, but then he realized it came with the added benefit of chasing away any guy you were interested in. He was manipulative enough that he could get the guys you crushed on to crush on his female persona instead.
Jiu uses he/him pronouns but is pretty flexible with being called they/them/she/her (especially when he dresses up)
He likes to work out, so he's actually deceptively strong -- you wouldn't know it at first glance.
He can play the piano very well, but has an awful singing voice. His speaking voice is also very nice, so most people are surprised to hear that he can't sing.
He's a huge foodie! He'll go to a bunch of food places because he likes to eat, not just for his social media content.
He's the type to always compliment you + think about you lol whenever he sees something he thinks will suit you, he buys it so he can give it to you!
Yandere wise, he's more a manipulative, cunning yandere than a violet one. BUT he can get violent with other people (never with you). Usually, if he's gonna do something dangerous, he wears a disguise; but he also is really good at manipulating social media and kind of ruining someone's life in that manner too.
thanks for reading my thought dump lol! If you wanna interact with him/ask me about him or something feel free to!

madatowa drama cd notes as someone who has very limited jp knowledge. i am simply using my 4 yrs of high school japanese, google translate, and a dream. just posting this for fun so it’s not like an official translation or anything it’s just basically me describing what’s happening to the best of my ability and also being insane about them
Tumblr media
major events that happened that i could make out as like a tldr
-mada reunited with someone he knew when he was little
-towa learns abt mada’s past, mainly around a guy named “kurahashi”
-mayu eiji and kotarou appearance :D being sillies as always
-two yowie moments. first one in an alleyway second one presumably in their home. both are freak nasty as usual madatowa shenanigans
notes:
track 1
-LOTS of fighting noises in this
-towa and mada have a coffee and say it tastes like shinkoumi. some dudes come up to em and try to fight
track 2+3
-somebody notices them and gives them a job. presumably to fight people
-towa fights some people and it riles him up
-this part has already been translated but i just wanna scream abt it here bc!!!!!! towa brings him and mada into like an alleyway or something and he goes “hit me. it has to be you.” and mada says something like “you really are a lost cause/what am i going to do with you, huh?” hits him n his mouth fills with blood and towa kisses mada to make him taste it dnnsjdjd ❤️
Tumblr media
-they have a quickie in the third track in said alleyway like the freaks they are
track 4
-a character (acquaintance of mada) called him “kei” which was kinda crazy to me since nobody called him that in the vn
-theyre in south america i believe? it’s funny in drama cds when they go to a country outside of japan and still speak japanese
-this character knew mada when he was little??? omg
-KAGA MENTION
Tumblr media
-somebody came up to towa and madarame and said “forget everything you saw/heard today”?!
-there’s a VA in here that lowkey sounds like koujaku dmmd but idk how to check
track 5
-it’s funny how some tracks in here are like 2 minutes and the next one is 20
-dude i forgot how good nitroplus’ like sound effects are these mfs sound like they’re in my ROOM
-towa n mada having a convo abt the previous day. i think they may be arguing slightly? tone feels passive aggressive
-birds chirpin’ and towa’s breathing. he just woke up
-he just said madarame in the softest voice ever… 💔💔
-i think he woke up on their bed and mada left before he did
-towa: where did you go?😕 *track ends*
track 6
-footsteps. towa in a coffee shop once again
-MADA FIGHTING THAT DUDE HE KNEW
-cut back to towa. beep beep boop. towa calling somebody? ITS MAYU KOTAROU AND I THINK EIJI OMGGGGG T__T I MISSED EM
-i missed mayus silly voice
-they keep talking about somebody named “kurahashi” related to mada and kaga
-sasaki and toono mention?
-mayu: did something happen between you and madarame? did you two fight? (in the most teasing lil shit voice ever)
towa: *exhales smoke probably abt to hang up the phone* i’m done. -__-
eiji: HE WAs JUST KIDDIN-
-eiji: mata!! (see you!)
kotarou: mata na.
mayu: mata ne~ ^__^
the difference in tones was cute
-towa walks out of da shop. the dude from before comes up to him and asks if he wants to know what he and mada have been doing
-he like grabs him?? menacing music playing
-ok towa said let me go i think he pushed him up against a wall or something
-this dude is asking towa if he knows abt mada before he joined the takasatogumi. some massive lore bits goin on here (i understand about 20% of it)
-from what i got: madarame and kaga had a promise. lots of talk abt this promise. lots of talk abt madarame’s history with his siblings and takasatogumi. this entire bit is probably really interesting lore wise but i can’t understand most of it…💔 apologies
- enter madarame from the distance to save towa from this dude’s grasp
-he walks away.
-madarame: that guy…what happened?
towa: nothin. we just talked
madarame: really?
towa: yea. (he lyin)
track 7
-they go back home (i think) and enter.
towa sighssss. towa and mada talk time it seems ^__^
-madarame’s voice is so soft when he’s w him…cries
-towa: mentions something abt kurahashi
music: gets Suspenseful
-towa talks abt the stuff that dude told him
-towa ran away into a room?! (once again this would make me more sense if i even understood the weight of that dudes words and the lore of what happened)
track 8 (pretty sure this is the beginning of disc 2? however i’m listening from dlsite so it just shows up as track 8)
-this track is 20 minutes oh god pray for me as i try to even figure out what the hell is happening
-towa goes to see kurahashi and some dude tells him he needs an appt lawl… he lets him in tho
-“you came after all, towa” *suspense music starts*
-there’s a new takasatogumi?¿
-the dude who calls madarame “kei” is here telling him this. actually i think this is kurahashi i’ve just been calling him “the dude” this whole time but maybe it is kurahashi LMFAO i’ll just call him that
-wait the interrogation/euphoria music is playing? they’re still doing this segment in the drama cds omg
-towas voice still remaining the sexiest shit ever god
-IS HE TRYING TO SEDUCE INFORMATION OUT OF HIM or is it just his voice. maybe both
-more lore bits abt mada that i can only get bits n pieces from
-towa provoking da hell out of this mf.
-literally what the HELL is happening some other dude came in i hear clothes rustling and towa said Unhand Me
-HELLO GLASS JUST BROKE THAT SCARED ME WHY ARE NITROPLUS’ SOUND EFFECTS SO REALISTIC
-ITS MADA LMFAKOOK HE BROKE IN AND ASAID “towa. u in here?”
-the guy who sounds like koujaku is back apparently w him. they saved towa :D
-OK WHERE DID EIJI MAYU AND KOTAROU COME FROM I MISSED SOMETHING. i did.
track 9
-more kotarou eiji and mayuuuu. looks like they’re with towa and madarame now
-ok they left lawl
-everything’s all chill now i think that last track was the drama. i can’t wait until somebody translates the whole thing so i can actually understand what da hell happened
-once again their voices when they speak to each other alone are just 💔💔..
-it got a bit intimate at the end there i think i’m abt to hear a secks scene ngl
track 10
-YUP THE JAZZ MUSIC PLAYIN AND THERES KISSIN
Tumblr media
-blood and knife(?) mention oh it’s abt to get real crazy in here
-mada: want me to cut you (non-verbatim ish)
towa: yes…..!!
-i’m punching the air.
-*cut sfx* mada: did that hurt?
towa:… feels good
-towa is such a fucking freak (affectionate) my god
-i think mada is licking the blood up oh my goodnes i’m abt to pass out and i’m only 2 min in
-oh he’s . towas whimpering . i’m normal (yes they’re fucking now)
Tumblr media
-towa: cut me more. i want it to hurt
-mada keeps cutting him and towa keeps doing that little whimper FAWKKKK I CANR
-after they finished
towa: you’re covered in blood.
mada: whose fault is that?
towa: yours, isn’t it?
-ok that just changed me and i am very glad i bought this CD so i can now listen to it for the rest of time.
track 11 (last one!! ;_;)
-outside ambience. towa talking abt da sky
-at the coffee shop again talking w da waiter
-melancholy music playing.. why am i feeling emotional
-if i heard this correctly mada and kaga had coffee together that tasted like what they’re having rn?¿ madarame talking more abt his past but like. fondly i guess
-madarame said something that kind of gagged towa but IDK WHAT IT WASSSS HE SAID “who knows”
ARKTA song once again for the ending! AND IM DONEEE
ok so. i’m not gonna give a full review since i didn’t understand all of what they were saying but i saw on twt some people are going to start translating it? so perhaps i’ll relisten once a translation is out and give my full thoughts but as of now i loved it regardless. i missed towa and madarame a lot i love their dynamic 💔 just a bunch of freaks fighting mfs occasionally and going anywhere but still sticking beside one other. im rly glad i actually bought it because i get to listen to it whenever AND it’ll probably feel like the first time once i finally listen to it along with an eng translation so i actually know wtf is GOING ON
anyways hi and thank u if u read this whole thing. ’m gonna buy the rest of them soon and also make a review post but probably not as long. the reason is because god i MISSED TOWAS VOICE SO MUCH LOL i must hear it again. that is all

Honey Hotline (Visual Novel)
Created by: chuiipon
Genre: Horror
Phew, I was really happy to see this game come out since I've been following this artist for a while. It's always really fun seeing people create ocs that are in games, especially now that there's this trend of yandere vns (which I appreciate). Anyways, this is an r18 game and it's a good introduction to the story of this game. If you are interested, you can learn more at @ringringringbananafone.
Honey is the default name, so I'll just be calling them as such.
Honey wakes up after a strange dream in the middle of their college class. They find out that they're going to be part of a group project and Amesy asks them to join their group. Their group consists of her, a guy named Fone and Seon. Fone is a quiet guy who has trouble communicating and writes on a notebook, while Seon seems to be a tidy guy. Amesy suggests that Honey and Fone work together on the slideshow and the two head to Honey's house to finish. The two work on the project together, getting closer with one another until Fone has to go home. Honey fiddles with the slides more until they get a strange recording of someone moaning their name and seemingly masturbating to them. This person sends message after message apologizing and stating that they love honey, asking them to not block them. Honey realizes that with this new phone, the only people who could have sent this message are the three classmates that they're working on the project with. With this, they set out to investigate which one it is. The next day, Honey can go to Amesy, Fone or Seon's place.
Going to Fone's place makes Fone very excited. In his house, Fone reveals that he has a cat named Mallow (Marshmallow), which Honey (and I) enjoy very much. Honey can ask Fone about a lot of different topics like hobbies, what his family is like and why he has a hard time speaking. After hanging out, Honey returns hom.
Going to Seon's place, there is a chance to reveal that Seon is really into anime, which makes him really happy and blurt out a thousand facts about anime. Seon even invites Honey to a convention later before walking them home. Otherwise, Seon and Honey will still have a good time, but won't find out that he's really into anime.
Going to Amesy's house, she offers Honey some cookies and the two talk about various things. We find out that Amesy and Fone are actually cousins and that Fone used to be a very cheerful and extroverted child, but isn't sure what happened to make him the way he is now. Thus the reason why Amesy was trying to help Fone and Honey talk to each other. Afterwards, Amesy offers to bring Honey home on her motorcycle.
After all of that, Honey gets another voice recording stating that they enjoyed their time together today and wishes them a good night. Honey deduces it must be someone who they've hung out with today.
For an introduction, it does a good job of showing off all the different characters, and sets up the mystery of who the person stalking Honey is, though if you follow the creator's blog, you'll find out pretty quickly that it's Fone who is the one sending these messages. It's hinted at as well when Honey mentions that the person sounds raspy as if they haven't talked in a while, as well as when talking to Fone there's the chance to talk about the neighbors, and the recent murders happening, which is awfully suspicious and likely related to Fone. Still, there are other mysteries such as what kind of childhood Fone had to have changed from a cheerful child to how he is now. The artwork in this is very nice, though I'm biased because I really love the art style of the characters.
As for yandere behavior from Fone, there is several that goes on. The first one and most obvious is the message sent to Honey on the first and second day. Based on what Honey mentions about the neighbors, likely is also next door to hear what Honey is saying. There's also the aforementioned murders which are likely tied to Fone, and if Honey refuses to work on the project with Amesy in the beginning, the game will sort of reset, forcing them to be in that team. Ominous messages at the beginning and end of the game also play out, as well as some text files that will spawn inside of the folder depending on what options are chosen. I'm not sure how these breaking the fourth wall things will come to play later as a lot of yandere vns are using them these days, but hopefully it will be a unique idea.
Overall, for a demo, I thought it was an interesting premise. Even though I believe we already know who is the one sending these messages to Honey, I am curious about other aspects of the game. If you enjoy these types of games, please feel free to try it out.

I really liked how assertive you were when saying that you're not making a game that caters to the player! I think it's a part of the game charm's 😊 I love how the stat system is going to be handled! It's very promising for sure 👀 But that little note on the guys not returning the feelings or breaking up with MC?!!
That left me shocked, it might seem dumb but for the most vn and otome games (supposed to be realistic xd) that I've played the only bad ending is well... dying or so lol. So I really am grateful that you are planning on sticking to your premises!
So that left me wondering... Will we see then friction between the guys? If like you explained before, they don't have to reciprocate and will have their own feelings/thoughts about MC can two of them crush at the same time? I cannot picture them jealous over each other or it even damaging their friendship. Though it would be a cool concept? Just like in real life, sometimes with conflicted feelings... Choosing friendship over love or not? Quite the drama!! 😶‍🌫️ Sorry for the ramblings 😵‍💫
alsdhalhd I hope I didn't come across as too stern, but one of my small regrets is that we pushed this game as an Otome instead of an Amare (which is what it truly is). Romancing a guy is still a viable goal if that's how you intend to play the game! And if that's what you wanna do then go ahead! but it is not the only way to finish the game either, and no one has to do it if they don't want to.
But I'm glad to hear that you're still excited for the game even with everything we're tryna do. So thank you! ^^
As for your question, I really wanna do this! Haha of course I want angst and drama and of course I want to explore jealousy, and how the guys would feel knowing that MC chose their best friend over them. But even though I really want to do it, it's an aspect that relies heavily on the writing team and I don't want to push them when we've already got so much to do. Like, at the moment there's 3 of us including myself-- 4 if we include our editor which would be insane because they're already editing all of this content by themself so we definitely don't have the manpower or the funding to tackle on this dream of mine hahhh
So like, as the team currently stands, no promises. But thank you for your interest!

my short attention span could never sit me patiently through crochet. pls show us your creations when you do. also, projects :0 I've always wanted to make a visual novel myself but i don't even know where to start lmao. the most i did was try and learn programming but you can imagine how that went hahaha
also also, new ocs? :000 can we. cann we sneak peak? character desrripition? oc lore bls - apple anon
Hi apple🍎, I think I'll crochet mostly granny square at first, just to learn the basic stiches. But I'll show you for sure the stuffies! I also have a problem with the short attention span, however I find myself focusing a lot while doing a repetive task, so I think I can handle this.
About the visual novel, I know there are online some maker that could help us, but I never tried them.
Aaand now, about the projects...👀 First of all, those are all concepts I'm still working on, so they could change in the future.
The book one is a fantasy children book for adults. Like I said in the previous post, it doesn't specifically have anything to do with agere, but I always read and hear "In Disneyland adults can return as a kid too", "Eveyone has an inner child" and so on. And I once found a video recommending books for children going through some difficult situations, like divorce of their parents, getting bullied...So, why not for adults too?
I want to try to address some "adult" themes through the main character, a little elf called Hazel. He's a kid that just moved to a new realm and he's adjusting to the new life, thanks also to the help of an adult elf, Hyacinth, that took him under his care.
That's it for the first project.
The second one in more complex, is also a fantasy and it follow the story of 13 charachters that stood out for their brave, loyality, fortitude ecc... and become "Holy knights", a special force to defend the country.
My idea was to make 13 different VN/book/whatever, each one focusing on a character, on how they became knights or how they solve a mission with the whole group.
I jut need to think the last character but I have to define better also the others one.
At the moment I have:
a former warrior called "The Immortal"
a god that love humans
a bard whose tongue was cut out
the father of the first "holy knight"
a pearl diver
a guy who killed another one (No, he isn't yandere)
a sorceress (There is here a yandere in her story)
a girl who was "reincarnated"
Those are the ones I'm sure about their story. Let's see if the dreams can suggest me other things. 😂

Hello again!
I’m so glad you feel that way because it’s all true and I feel like you should know just how much it meant and impacted me, something you guys made is that amazing!<3
That's so freakin cool! I love when I hear people talk about how their dreams inspire their work!! I don’t why because it adds a level of magic to it, I don’t know if that's corny but it feels that way to me lol.
Talk about crazy! I had a similar dream too!! Not the content but the feeling after one, a long ago as well. Like for me there was this white haired mage dude showing off their powers and after waking up I was in tears asking where he was even though I knew it was a dream!
And I’ve been wanting to make a vn for years but couldn’t think what to write but then I slotted this dream with another one of mine and BOOM everything fell into place.
So hearing you say you did something similar makes me think it’s the right choice, and I’m not being silly, cause it was something I was worried about lol.
But thank you! I would really appreciate it, I love what we got but can’t deny how enticing it would be getting more!
In the meantime I am now going through your other games, and becoming a patron tomorrow x333
Sorry I get chatty when I’m excited
hi!!’ dont apologize for being chatty! no one is as chatty as me. plus we love to talk in this house so 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
i feel the same way about dreams something about them is so mysterious and magical/romantic :’) i feel like a lot of amazing creative works have been inspired by dreams haha! not silly at all to use them as creative feed—everyone draws from different things to inspire their work <3
if you ever get around to releasing that vn i would love to check it out!! i’m losing track of where i’m leaving my comments but i think intertwine leaves a lot of room for imagination and additional content, what with the multiple lives. the possibilities r endless so if i ever return to intertwine, even if for a short dlc of small stories, i’m sure it would be fun! it’s not a priority right now just bc i need to return to my main child alaris, but the future is always open for more intertwine we never know ^^
THANK U FOR THE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT!!! it already means a lot to see you like intertwine but for u to also check out alaris and sub to my patreon 🥺🥺🥺💖💖💖 i will say alaris is very different from intertwine. i’m also working on releasing a revamped version of alaris so if i’m being honest i kinda discourage ppl from downloading the current build since i like the enhanced version i’m working on rn so much more 🤠 but if u end up playing i hope you enjoy it nonetheless!

me ascending every time you call me ram <3 (it's like a power up i love it, like joren with mc, you're enabling me to ramble more each time)(sorry in advance for the amount ill send) watch me call you lolo for the loner in your username
it was very clear so we appreciate it!! and exactly omfg you get it, there's nothing wrong with being a conventionally attractive white man but personally it's so underwhelming compared to what i sometimes imagined (one time i played a game where i thought the guy had long black hair brooding and sharp looks like babygirl right? but then i saw the pictures and he had short very bland looks i cried.) tiktok goes crazy with THESE especially with the fancasting people do for books, its always the same kind of dudes its tragic (definitely an interesting topic from a sociological perspective but ill stop too lmaoaoa)
moles are so attractive normally but now with your concept too? brain rot i cant believe... is joren's neck sensitive? please i need to know because just MC touching the moles but instead they watch joren's neck turn red and both end up blushing like fools and THE SCARS WOAHHHH????? MC turning his scars into something joren can love by admiring them (tho the angst would be crazy if the MC was to be disgusted but personally my MC could never cause joren is our big meow meow)(im still not over the fact he can purr like can the MC scratch the back of his ears too? i need MOREEEE MONSTER FACTS)
AWWW, I love it!! Lolo is such a cute nickname!!
And I actually went to booktok to study (laugh at) this phenomenon and you're so right!! There's nothing wrong with these dudes, of course, but when the entirety of your male cast looks the same, it just becomes booooooring. They look like brothers!! Add some spice, please!!
Fortunately, that kind of surprise hasn't happened to me, I either never see the characters' portraits (IF) or that's the first thing I do (VN). But I won't go into detail about my feelings here, gotta stay away from controversies now that I'm a game dev (never gets old), haha!!
And yes! I've always loved moles, on someone's wrist, neck, below their eye, or the edge of their mouth... Doesn't matter, they are great.
I'd say both his neck and wrists are sensitive. And I love that idea, but due to his skin tone, his blush isn't really visible! So instead of turning red, we could say that MC is touching him and suddenly his skin heats up under their palm and he starts to sweat a little bit!
And ugh, now I can't help but imagine MC calling Joren their handsome man while tracing his scars...
Like, he doesn't really care if he's considered good-looking or not, but MC calling him that???? He'd melt. Suddenly, he'd understand why everyone is so concerned about beauty, and how good that kind of validation feels. He'd even start putting more effort into his appearance.
And maybe he could start seeing his scars as proof of how brave he's been throughout his life? He could stop being neutral about it, and become proud of them?
On the other hand, if MC finds him disgusting for his scars, it would make him insecure for the first time in a really long time. He'd try to dress in tunics with long sleeves, and always face MC with the "better" side of his face, so they don't have to look at his scar.
And yes!! Of course MC gets to scratch his ears, I'm pouring all of my impossible dreams of cuddling a big cat in those scenes. I'll think of some monster facts for tomorrow!!

Dreams from 5.10.23
Dream 1: I showed up at a clothing shop because the owner of the shop, who I knew, called me and told me to visit because he had some newly arrived styles that I might be interested in. When I got there, he showed me a clothing rack of Mickey Mouse merchandise. The words and icon were stylised and printed onto shirts and other types of tops. I didn't think it was that impressive but I pretended that I was. It looked like cheap fast fashion, a copy of a copy. I realised that AT was there with her mother and that we had both approached the same rack of clothing. She hadn't noticed me yet and I didn't want to alert her to my presence as I'd been avoiding her for months. However, it didn't seem to matter because I was walking circles around her inside the shop and she didn't register that I was there at all. There was no energy coming from her.
Dream 2: I was at a street festival and browsing at a stall that sold clothing. I was half-heartedly looking at some dresses and other pieces and the owner of the stall approached me and tried to convince me to try them on. I didn't want to try anything on at all, but I did it anyway to make the guy shut up. This stall also randomly had trays/foil-wrapped bits of food so I grabbed a few samples on my way to finding the change room. I looked in the area immediately surrounding the stall to try and figure out where the change rooms were but I couldn't see any nearby. All I could see was an obnoxiously-decorated hot pink caravan, complete with silvery glittery streamers flapping in the wind. I scoffed at it, and the owner saw me and smirked saying, 'Yes, that is in fact the change room.'
The entry point into the caravan was really high off the ground, maybe a couple of metres, and I had to hoist myself up. It was also a quite a tight squeeze in general for trying on clothes since there was furniture inside. I figured I would just sit here and pretend I was trying the clothes on and come out after an appropriate amount of time. I didn't mind helping myself to the food though and used a fork to shovel it into my mouth. As I sat in the darkness of the caravan, it felt like I was higher up than I really was and from my vantage point, I was able to observe the sea of festival-goers walking up and down the street like ants. I spotted AF making his way through the crowd, alone, and for a second I thought I might call out to him. But as I continued to watch him I thought better of it, as I felt nothing coming from him.
Then I appeared at work and AL and VN were working with me. Then I got seriously confused like my brain was playing tricks on me. I had misinterpreted the man from the stall before and thought that instead of offering me the clothes and food like he had, that he had actually given me 3 prescriptions for medication and I needed to dispense them for myself now. I don't remember being handed the prescriptions but here they were, for some anti-anxiety and anti-depressant meds. I put the prescriptions, along with the medicines, in a tray and set it by VN for her to process on the computer. Then the energy in the room completely changed. VN who was looking at the scripts, said in a very patronizing tone, 'Uh... you have no history of ever taking these'. AL caught onto the situation within a heartbeat and murmured from her computer, 'Ok... then..', in a very disapproving tone.
It turns out they weren't real prescriptions at all, and were actually just pieces of paper made to look as such. It basically looked like I was forging/self-prescribing. It got really awkward very quickly because I could tell that AL and VN thought that I was trying to manipulate them into doing my illegal bidding. But that hadn't been my intention. I was just really confused with what took place at the stall earlier. But it was too late to defend myself, I could feel their silent but crushing judgement on me. I felt highly embarrassed because I had just ruined my own reputation somehow, and now I was going to be perceived as perpetually shady. Then the truth hit me and I really wanted to cry because I suddenly realised that the only reason I thought I needed these meds is because I was going to use them to help me cope with the fact that everyone is an NPC now.

ehhehe not me starting another project, nope- alright I wanted to make this post a long time ago, so here we go lololo....
I'll do a TL;DR version right from the start bc my ramblings have no ends lol: I always had the wish to create a Visual Novel, but it is only now that I found some spark of hope that I can actually pull it off.
I started my dreams with IF and recently I found the courage and motivation to finally make a VN. Yes. You heard right. A Visual Novel. Weeeeeeee
And since it will be a submission for a jam it will be (hopefully lol) finished within this year.
There are some important things I need to share/ you to know. First of all: I need a team. It's currently unpaid, but if we somehow win, the prize will naturally be split. I'm looking for all kind of help; artists, writers, testers, programmers*, editors, composer, voice actors, anything really. It's a lot for my first gig I am well aware, but that's why I am starting (checks calendar) ~5 months in advance 🙃
Here's the main info abt it I am willing to share for now:
This game will be a horror visual novel; more precisely a submission for the annual Spooktober VN Jam (2022) with lots of dark/mature themes and is not suited for a younger audience (18+ only). It will however have no explicit sexual content (it's against the rules). If you want more information on the jam itself, you can get it [here].
A more detailed list with content warnings can be found on the server, but just prepare for the worst (I'm going all in lol).
Said server can be found here: https://discord.gg/DTnswBHY . It's okay to join even if you just pop in and decide that it's not for you. Also, I'm a discord granny so I have literally what I am actually doing over there, but you'll find any information you may need (or not bc I am very discreet abt this lol).
However, I am not abandoning the current projects! Just taking some time off. Or not, because you see the thing is that I can't actually start writing until the jam officially begins, so it's basically just me gathering a steady team until then and learning how to use ren'py. Which will be lots of fun.
Please reblog/ share, tell your friends or strangers of who you know they want to join a team, *because I need all the help I can get, especially when it comes to programming!
I'll try to keep you guys updated!
Stay safe✌️

Hello, followers of this account and the others I will reblog this too. I'm just gonna kinda ramble here, but I also have some important info re: when Ruefell will be completed (and Burwick)
I'm sure people have noticed I have a habit of starting projects and never getting anywhere with them:
Honey and Fire, that was my first try at IF and I was a teenager and had no idea what I was doing and it's just no longer a viable project, so that's cancelled for real.
Burwick Destination, I was still inexperienced and young, so my planning is total garbage and needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up, perhaps the story will change a good deal when I get around to that. But I'm not ready to do that and I won't be for a while. I'm ashamed of how long it's been on hiatus, so I need to take this time to clear my plate and just not look at it for a while, that way it won't go the way of HoF and take a toll on my mental health.
Magic of Ruefell, my planning is much better and I'm still confident in this one. But it's a big project. Which brings me to my newest project.
The Book of Broken Candles. @bookofbrokencandles This one is my new and primary focus. I feel prepared to see this one to completion.
See... I have problems lol. I'm just gonna level with you guys. I struggle really, really badly with executive dysfunction and some symptoms that lead me to certain labels I can't get diagnosed, but are symptoms that frequently strangle my creative efforts. I was in a much worse place when I started those first three projects (and my not-so-secret other one on my main) so they also got this treatment as I fell into yet another pit that prevented me from working. But I feel like I'm in a better place now. It's not perfect and I'm still slower than hell at writing, but I'm also still writing. Consistently, at that, which is something that hasn't happened for me since my fanfic days in my teens. That's a good sign, to me.
I'm worried about what will happen as we get into December, because I already hate how early the sun sets where I live and I don't do well with seasonal depression. But I won't be too hard on myself, whatever happens, and I hope that will be enough to get me through this season without a great deal of pain to my writing.
But that's neither here nor there right now. I wanted to clear state what's going on in my head right now regarding my projects:
Truth be told, Burwick and Ruefell are too much right now. Burwick moreso, but that's for multiple reasons. I've already said it, but I need to return to it at a much later date and pick up the pieces of my teenage mess.
Ruefell, it's in a way better state, but it is... a big bite to chew right now, in terms of being my first completed IF. So I don't think it can be my first completed IF. Its cast and number of variables are on the large side and I don't want to burn out on it. There's also more promise in the plot that I'd really like to have the experience needed to deliver on.
Candles is... getting a bit on the big side haha. It's seeming larger than I expected when I first conceived of it. But I'm keeping it in a much tighter scope. Its focus is much narrower, I'm more confident in the decisions I'm making to keep the number of variables under control (aka not being too much of a people-pleaser) and I have a set limit on the number of chapters it will have, so I can see the timeline a lot clearer. What this means is basically just that Candles will take a little longer to complete than I initially thought, but it won't be harder to complete.
So here's the timeline: Candles completed -> Ruefell completed -> Circle back around to Burwick and complete that.
Then I'll see what ideas I've shelved in that time. I have some I've been kicking around for a long time, and one that may very well end up being my magnum opus when I get to it. And I think my dream is to one day write a VN. I have an idea, but it is also massive, so maybe I'll manage to make that dream come true with a smaller project before that one.
I think that's all I have to say right now... Thank you, everyone, who's been patient with me all this time. If you still enjoy my work, please follow me over at @bookofbrokencandles and send me asks and stuff, I need engagement to survive or I feel like I'm screaming into a void that won't echo.
Ok, bye.

MysMe Characters as Songs From Musicals
I am almost certain this must have been done before hahah, so I’m in no way claiming this is an original idea. These are just some of my Sunday afternoon thoughts which I felt like sharing😅💛 I gave everyone two songs bc I’m indecisive LOL
Zen
Kiss The Girl - The Little Mermaid (just made me think of the the VN when they’re on the roof watching the stars)
There, you see her Sitting there, across the way She don't got a lot to say, but there's something about her And you don't know why, but you're dyin' to try You wanna kiss the girl
Lay All Your Love On Me - Mamma Mia! (almost chose this for Jumin, but it’s just so ~sexy~ that I couldn’t not give it to Zen ;))
I wasn't jealous before we met Now every man that i see is a potential threat And i'm possessive, it isn't nice You've heard me saying that smoking was my only vice
Yoosung
When She Loved Me - Toy Story (okay not really a musical but sHUSH. I use this completely unironically for his relationship with Rika. He got hurt bad, guys)
So the years went by I stayed the same But she began to drift away I was left alone Still I waited for the day When she'd say, "I will always love you"
Proud of Your Boy - Aladdin (for when he meets MC and starts to get back on track. Courtesy of @sunshinejihyun <3)
You'll see, ma, now comes the better part Someone's gonna make good cross his stupid heart Make good and finally make you Proud of your boy
(everyone else under the cut!)
Jaehee
I Won’t Say I’m In Love - Hercules (when Baehee friend zones you but you just tell yourself she’s pulling a Megara. This is her at all of us fools)
No chance no way I won't say it, no no (Give up, give in, check the grin you're in love) This scene won't play I won't say I'm in love (We'll do it until you admit you're in love) You're way off base I won't say it Get off my case I won't say it
She Used to Be Mine - Waitress (bby works too hard and loses a part of herself. The first lines remind me of how she has to dress/act a certain way in order to work for Jumin...)
It's not simple to say Most days I don't recognize me These shoes and this apron That place and its patrons Have taken more than I gave 'em
Jumin
Something There - Beauty and the Beast (everyone’s shocked to see what love does to Jumin <3)
There's something sweet and almost kind But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined And now he's dear and so unsure I wonder why I didn't see it there before
Come What May - Moulin Rouge (JUMIN is shocked to see what love does to Jumin <33)
Never knew I could feel like this Like I've never seen the sky before I want to vanish inside your kiss Every day I love you more and more
Listen to my heart Can't you hear it sings Telling me to give you everything
Saeyoung
I’d Give My Life For You - Miss Saigon (you’re telling me this ain’t him @/ Saeran before he left him with V and Rika? lemme just clean up the shards of my broken heart off the floor one second)
You will be who you want to be You Can choose whatever heaven grants As long as you can have your chance I swear I'll give my life for you
If I Could Tell Her - Dear Evan Hansen (him in every route that isn’t his. And in his as well tbh. Just him all of the time)
But he kept it all inside his head What he saw he left unsaid
If I could tell her Tell her everything I see If I could tell her How she's everything to me
But we're a million worlds apart
And I don't know how I would even start If I could tell her
and a BONUS because apparently I like tears:
With You - Ghost (for the reset theory)
Every place we ever walked and Everywhere we talked, I miss you You never leave my mind So much of you is left behind
Jihyun
Words Fail - Dear Evan Hansen (this whole thing made me said listening back to it with Jihyun in mind. Now you can be sad too :))
I never meant to make it such a mess I never thought that it would go this far So I just stand here sorry Searching for something to say Something to say Words fail, words fail There's nothing I can say
Falling Slowly - Once (okay that’s better cmon MC show him the love he dESERVES DANGIT. To me this screams Jihyun x MC during his route)
You have suffered enough And warred with yourself It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice You've made it now
Saeran
Where Is Love? - Oliver! (this initially made me think of Ray during V’s route when he misses MC ouchouchoUCH but I think it could apply to Saeran before Ray too)
Where is she Who I close my eyes to see? Will I ever know the sweet hello That's meant for only me?
I Dreamed a Dream - Les Miserables (no comment. You know what’s up. The lyrics speak for themselves, he’s just waiting for his brother and losing all hope😭)
And still I dream he'll come to me That we will live the years together But there are dreams that cannot be And there are storms we cannot weather I had a dream my life would be So different from this hell I'm living So different now from what it seemed Now life has killed the dream I dreamed
Rika
(for these you kinda have to view them in a twisted sort of way. I’m not saying the characters who sing these songs are like Rika, I can just imagine Rika singing these lyrics in a different context)
I’m Not That Girl - Wicked (when MC arrives and she realises that, after all she’s done wrong, she’s no longer that girl)
Don't wish, don't start Wishing only wounds the heart I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl There's a girl I know He loves her so I'm not that girl
Good For You - Dear Evan Hansen (and despite realising she’s no longer that girl, she decides to blame everyone but herself...especially Jihyun because, for once, he didn’t choose her)
And you say what you need to say So that you get to walk away It would kill you to have to stay trapped When you've got something new Well I'm sorry I had it rough And I'm sorry I'm not enough Thank God they rescued you
~
I hope you enjoyed hahah, if you have any other songs that you would have chosen for a character do let me know!! so glad I spent my Sunday doing this instead of uni work OOPS
Have a lovely day!!💛

Yet again ranking the 5 animes I’ve watched most recently
After losing the will to just sit down and watch it for quite a while, I’ve finally gotten through 5 anime series yet again, and, as is tradition for me by now, I’ve decided to just type out my thoughts and rankings of them, with my first two posts of this nature being here and here. As usual, this is just my personal thoughts, and the only other thing worth noting before I start is that, unlike last time, I do think everything listed here is at least decent on its own. With that, I’ll just get to it. 5. Robotics;Notes
Tumblr media
Number of episodes: 22. Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming availability: Funimation. Robotics;Notes is an adaptation of a visual novel, which I actually just wrote a review on, which can be found here. Long story short, it’s the third entry in the Science Adventure series, the same series Steins;Gate is part of, unknown to most people, with Robotics;Notes technically being the sequel to it. Originally aired in 2012, the same year as the visual novel was released, and made by Production I.G, Robotics;Notes is in an interesting middle ground between the acclaimed and popular Steins;Gate animes and the downright awful and obscure Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child animes, and until 2020 was the only option those who didn’t speak Japanese had to experience it at all. Since I went into so much detail in said visual novel review, I’m mostly going to focus on how the anime holds up both by itself and as an adaptation. Ever since its creation nearly ten years ago, the dream of the Chuo Tanegashima High Robotics Research Club has been to finish Gunbuild-1, a lifesize recreation of Gunvarrel, the titular mecha of an insanely popular anime that’s credited with starting a “robot boom” within Japan, and the club’s current president, Akiho Senomiya, the little sister of the club’s founder, Misaki Senomiya, is extremely determined to see this dream achieved. Unfortunately for her, the club has fallen on hard times, with its funding being cut, its advisor being completely unreliable, and the few other members it has, namely Kaito Yashio, Subaru Hidaka, Junna Daitoku, and Kona Furugoori, aka Frau Koujiro, being quite difficult in their own ways, and often more than Akiho can handle. While Akiho puts her all into finally bringing the club to greatness, the otherwise apathetic Kaito finds himself involved with a mysterious AI called Airi, who exists within the augmented reality app IRUO. Airi’s creator, the deceased Kou Kimijima, turns out to have also created several AR annotations scattered throughout Tanegashima, titled the Kimijima Reports, which warn of a grand conspiracy that will utterly devastate humanity if unopposed. I’m not the most unbiased viewer, since I had played, and enjoyed, the visual novel months before watching this anime, but generally, it’s actually an enjoyable time. Some of Robotics;Notes’ biggest strengths were always its cast of characters and lighter tone, and for the most part, the anime preserves both well, keeping it mostly silly, but endearing early on. The artstyle actually matches up fairly well with the VN’s CGs, and the dub, which I watched just to spice things up, since I already knew the Japanese voice cast was quite good, is overall solid, with Clifford Chapin as Kaito, Lindsay Seidel as Akiho, and Monica Rial as Junna especially sticking out to me. As an adaptation, on the other hand, it falls short in quite a few places, namely when it comes to characterization. While obviously, no adaptation could feasibly fit in every detail from its source material, the Steins;Gate anime managed to preserve almost all of its cast’s characterization, whereas in Robotics;Notes, several characters lose prominent details to their backstories or personal conflicts, or act differently in scenes unrelated to that, making quite a few of them come off different. While instances of the latter case, such as Junna coming off as less shy and hesitant, don’t necessarily worsen anything for the most part, the former definitely does, as it makes the affected characters much less developed and interesting. Nobody suffers from this worse than Kaito himself, who loses most of his backstory, motivations, and arc, to the point of one of his best moments being changed from something intentional to completely accidental, with the end result making him come off as a completely different character, and an inferior one, at that. Additionally, around episode 16, the anime starts diverging pretty significantly from the VN, and not in ways that are improvements, to the point it even leaves a few otherwise preserved scenes in earlier episodes without context. Overall, I can imagine the Robotics;Notes anime still being a decent, if unremarkable watch on its own, and was certainly an interesting and fun way to reexperience the story, and definitely fares better than many visual novel adaptations, but I can’t quite say I’d recommend it. If Robotics;Notes interests you, the visual novel is very much preferred. 4. Nichijou
Tumblr media
Number of episodes: 26. Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming options: Funimation. Here we have one of the most acclaimed anime comedies out there, an adaptation of Keiichi Arawi’s surreal sketch comedy manga series, produced by Kyoto Animation, a name that’ll be showing up here again later. Nichijou mainly focuses on two different trios of characters. There’s the ordinary high school girls Yuuko Aioi, a rather dim and reckless girl with terrible luck, Mio Naganohara, the most relatively normal one of the cast, whenever she’s not having explosive freak outs that involve beating people up, and Mai Minakami, a stoic girl who enjoys messing with people just for their reactions. On the other hand, there’s the far less ordinary Shinonome Laboratories trio of Professor Shinonome, an 8 year old girl who happens to be capable of building incredibly advanced machines, Nano Shinonome, a robot built by the Professor who desperately desires a normal girl more than anything, and Sakamoto, their pet cat who, thanks to a special scarf also made by the Professor, is capable of talking. The series focuses on their would-be ordinary lives, were it not for the seemingly daily chaos they get involved in, from witnessing the school principal wrestle a wild deer, to being trapped in an elevator for hours, to the school science teacher attempting to capture Nano for study. It also follows the antics of several other side characters, such Koujiro Sasahara, the seemingly upper class student who is actually just the son of a family of farmers, to Misato Tachibana, a very typical tsundere towards Sasahara, whose tsun side manifests as assaulting him with military-grade weapons, to little effect, to the equally quirky teachers of their school. Needless to say, it’s a very silly and chaotic series, and that’s exactly what makes it so memorable. The humor is pretty hit and miss in the first half of the series, but from episode 14 onwards, they thoroughly master it, with every episode having at least a few scenes that got me laughing. Beyond the silliness, though, the series actually has a lot of heart to it. There’s a few moments that change up the status quo, or even develop the characters just a bit, and some scenes are surprisingly sweet, if still played for laughs more often than not. There’s also a lot of continuity, which in later episodes often provide the punchlines to some of the best gags, which definitely encourages watching the whole series. The Japanese voice acting is fittingly crazy for each character, and the animation fits perfectly, as while the character designs are quite simple, there’s many would be mundane moments that have contrasting overly impressive and exaggerated animation that makes them very memorable. All in all, Nichijou is a very enjoyable series once it finds its groove, and about the only reason its not higher on my rankings is just because pure comedies aren’t really one of my favorite genres. Still, if you ever want a good laugh, you can’t go wrong with this. 3. Soul Eater
Tumblr media
Number of episodes: 51. Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming availability: Netflix, Funimation. Soul Eater is yet another adaptation, this time of a manga by Atsushi Ōkubo, produced by Studio Bones, who also did the Fullmetal Alchemist animes, and is quite similar to the original FMA series in that it outpaced the manga and, rather than simply overloading itself with filler, decided to go in an entirely different direction by the end. The Death Weapon Meister Academy is a school founded by Death himself, dedicated to the training of Meisters, who wield Weapons, humans with the ability to shapeshift into weapons, for the purpose of destroying Kishin Eggs, evil beings who have consumed the souls of others, and pose the risk of transforming into extremely dangerous demons. Any Meister who can collect the souls of these corrupted beings, as well as the soul of a Witch, can transform their Weapon into a Death Scythe, the personal arms of Death. Among the students of the DWMA are seven Meisters and Weapons who stand out in particular: the teams of Maka Albarn, a kind hearted and responsible, though temperamental, girl, her Weapon, Soul “Eater” Evans, a laidback and snarky wannabe “cool” guy, Black Star, a prideful and loudmouthed ninja who’s seemingly always out to make a spectacle of himself, regardless of how it hampers him, his Weapon, Tsubaki, a humble and levelheaded woman, Death the Kid, the son of Death and one of the top students in the cool, held back only by a crippling obsession with symmetry, and his Weapons, Liz and Patty Thompson. While these seven gradually come together as a team, a Witch named Medusa begins to put an ambitious and destructive plan into motion, one involving her “child”, Crona, and the strange, insanity inducing black blood that courses through their veins. Soul Eater has a lot going for it. A likeable and crazy cast of characters, even the side ones, like the maniacal Doctor Stein, or the surprisingly goofy and casual Death, or the tragic Crona, or the hilariously egotistical Excalibur, to a lot of fun action scenes, to its great animation and overall unique visual design, including the sun and moon having giant, creepy laughing faces. It has a lighthearted, comedic tone that doesn’t detract from the serious moments, and the main characters get some pretty good development as the series goes on. The dub is also great, with Laura Bailey as Maka, Micah Solusod as Soul, Brittney Karbowski as Black Star, and Todd Haberkorn as Death the Kid especially sticking out to me. In general, I don’t have a lot of significant criticisms, besides how the story is handled once the villainous organization Arachnophobia is introduced, which is also about where it begins to deviate from the manga. Most of the villains part of it never really feel like a threat, and the story becomes much more simple and typical compared to how the manga went, and when the ending arrives, it just kinda, happens, with several notable subplots just kinda left unfinished. It definitely feels like an underwhelming ending, and is a big reason why I place this lower on the list, but Soul Eater is still a pretty entertaining watch that’s worth a try if you want a decently lengthy, but not horribly long shonen. 2. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Tumblr media
Number of episodes: 28. Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming availability: Funimation. Here we have the big one, an extremely memetic and famous series by Kyoto Animation, based on a series of light novels by Nagaru Tanigawa, a series that was finally completed back in November 2020 after its start in 2003. Kyon is a lazy and down to earth high school student who wishes for little more for himself than an uneventful, normal high school life- a hope that’s abruptly shattered when, on a whim, he becomes involved with Haruhi Suzumiya, an eccentric, hyperactive, and thoroughly self centered girl, who claims to have no interest in ordinary humans, and instead wishes to discover things thoroughly unusual, such as aliens, time travelers, or espers, and forces Kyon to form a club, the SOS Brigade, with her to achieve this. Haruhi quickly pulls three other students into the brigade, those being Yuki Nagato, a stoic and quiet bookworm, Mikuru Asahina, a shy and passive girl often subjected to humiliation and abuse by Haruhi, and Itsuki Koizumi, a calm transfer student who acts extremely subservient to Haruhi. While Kyon initially writes off the club as an unreasonable use of his time, his fellow members reveal an unexpected truth to him: the subjects of Haruhi’s fascinations actually do exist. Yuki is an alien, of a sort, created and controlled by an entity known as the Data Overmind, Mikuru is a time traveler from some point in the future, and Itsuki is an esper, and member of an organization of similar people. All three of them have been sent to observe the oblivious Haruhi, who appears to have the unconscious ability to change reality itself according to her desires, and is at threat of remaking the entire world if not placated. With Haruhi apparently having taken a unique interest in Kyon, he finds himself taken along for all sorts of supernatural adventures spawned from Haruhi’s whims. There’s a lot I could go on about regarding Haruhi, but in the interest of not turning this into a full on rant, I’ll keep shortish. It’s more or less an insane mishmash of several different genres, from slice of life, to science fiction, to fantasy, just depending on what each individual story feels like being. The episodes are mostly adapted from the early light novels, mostly the multiple stories from the third and fifth novels, The Boredom and The Rampage of Haruhi Suzumiya, respectively. It’s not often you’ll have any idea just what to expect from each individual episode, which makes the series very chaotic, but interesting. The characters are likeable and memorable, including the side characters, and the sheer ridiculousness of what goes on makes for many amusing moments. At the same time, the series is surprisingly complex, with many possible interpretations of its characters and the events they go through, furthered by the antics Kyoto Animation pulled when it was originally airing, such as airing the episodes out of chronological order, meaning the plot would often jump from the middle of an arc to something else. The end result is a very unique and enjoyable product, helped by the fantastic dub, with the actors capturing each character perfectly, from Crispin Freeman as the grounded and snarky Kyon, to Wendee Lee as the aggressively energetic Haruhi, to Stephanie Sheh as the gentle, yet secretive Mikuru. That said, there is one pretty disappointing part of it all, and that’s the second season, mostly thanks to the infamous Endless Eight arc, an eight part arc that’s more or less the same things happening over and over, with only the first and last episodes having anything noticeably different. Regardless of its own uniqueness, more than half the season is taken over by this, and something that may have worked if cut down to three or four episodes instead singlehandedly killed off the series’ goodwill. About the only redeeming factor of the second season is the five part adaptation of The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya, which has some of the funniest moments in the whole series. Overall, Haruhi is still a very fun series, and I’m really gonna have to watch its movie, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, one of these days. 1. Trigun
Tumblr media
Number of episodes: 26. Language options: dub and subs available. Streaming availability: Funimation, Hulu. Finishing off this list is an adaptation of a manga series by Yasuhiro Nightow, produced by Madhouse and another adaptation that overtook its source material. Compared to how Soul Eater handled it, however, Trigun went down much, much better, to the point Nightow himself had nothing but praise for how the anime turned out, and the series is generally considered one of the best animes of the late 90′s. On the harsh desert planet of Gunsmoke lives a wandering gunslinger known as Vash the Stampede, the “Humanoid Typhoon” with a large handgun known to leave tremendous destruction in his wake, who amassed a bounty of $$60,000,000,000 after destroying the city of July, leading to an endless trail of bounty hunters out to collect the price on his head. In the middle of all this, Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, two representatives of an insurance society which is often forced to pay for damages caused by Vash, track him down for the purposes of minimizing the chaos he causes. Upon catching up with him, however, the duo discovers that, contrary to his reputation, Vash is a kindhearted goof, and self proclaimed hunter of love and peace, who absolutely refuses to ever take another person’s life, even at great personal risk to himself. Vash continues his travels carefree, helping out whoever he can, with the occasional assistance of Meryl and Milly, as well as a traveling priest known as Nicholas D. Wolfwood, only to one day have an encounter with a mysterious and cruel man known as Legato Bluesummers. Vash soon learns that Legato has hired a group of assassins known as the Gung-Ho Guns to kill Vash, and leave a trail of bodies wherever they go, seemingly for the sole purpose of tormenting Vash. As Vash hunts down Legato, he is gradually forced to face his past, and consider whether he can truly stay committed to his pacifist ideals. In general, Trigun is just a very, very well made series. It has a likeable and developed cast of characters, with special mention going to Vash, who is a very compelling and sympathetic character, and Wolfwood, who makes a great foil to Vash with very interesting development of his own, with characters outside of the main cast being memorable as well, from Legato himself, to even some of the more minor villains, such as the varied members of the Gung-Ho Guns, or Brilliant Dynamites Neon, who makes an inexplicably strong impression for a one off villain not even important to the overall plot. The space western setting is quite good, and the designs are great, with many villains having distinctive looks that further help them make an impression. The action is great, and the animation is also quite good, and has that 90′s anime charm. The dub, while a bit rough around the edges, is generally solid too. From Lia Sargent as the ditzy but kind Milly, to Dorothy Elias Fahn as the hotheaded Meryl, to Jeff Nimoy as the weary Wolfwood, to Richard Cansino as the calculating and disturbing Legato, with special mention needing to go to Johnny Yong Bosch as Vash. Despite it actually being his first voice acting role ever, he does a great job in portraying the many sides to Vash, and absolutely sells many of the biggest moments in the story. Speaking of which, the series started quite lighthearted and wacky, with the first four episodes actually being filler, but gets gradually darker as it goes on. The earlier episodes are still quite enjoyable on their own, though, and manage to slowly reveal new aspects to Vash in each one, before finally setting his nature in stone in episode 5. What really sells the series and makes it so memorable, however, are the themes it explores, of the practicality of unwavering pacifism, and whether taking a life, whether for heinous crimes committed without remorse, or with the purpose of protecting others, is ever justifiable. While quite a few series have touched dilemmas like this before, what makes Trigun stand out with it is the emphasis placed upon it throughout the whole series, with many episodes touching upon it in some regard. It genuinely fairly looks at the different sides of it all, and the consequences of each, with many emotional moments coming from it as a result. While the manga did ultimately take a very different turn from the anime, the anime actually preserves several of the most important plot moments, and manages to come to a satisfactory conclusion of its own regarding the themes. Ultimately, Trigun makes for a very fun and interesting watch that I highly recommend. And with that, my ranking is complete. With the exception of Robotics;Notes, I can pretty confidently recommend every show on this list. Got some more shows I plan to get through soon, so another ranking like this may be soon in the making. Either way, till next time. -Scout

Lunch was leisurely and loud. The six of you meshed well and it was as if you had been friends for ages. Bucky and Steve got on like a house on fire, and while Sam seemed wary of you, you earned a few smiles when you started discussing your addiction to Food Network.
“So where should we go next?” Wanda asked as she licked her fingers.
“They have that photo pavillion set up with costumes.”
“Oh that’s right. I want to be a saloon girl.”
“Does anyone else want to come?”
Bucky shook his head.
“I was actually going to try to get the teacups in before heading over to the swings. You up for it, Sammy?”
He was caught off guard for a moment before a wide grin spread across his face.
“You know those are my favorites.”
“I do,” Bucky agreed.
“Let’s do it then.”
“What about you two?” Natasha asked, tilting her head expectantly at you and Steve.
“I’m going to stay here and try not to fall into a food coma,” you yawned.
“And I’m with her,” Steve shrugged.
Natasha rolled her eyes.
“We’ll see you at the bonfire.”
“See you.”
As their footsteps faded, you patted your stomach as you hummed contentedly.
“Full, sweetheart?” he murmured in your ear.
“Mmm. I’m stuffed.”
“So no roller coasters just yet then?”
You shook your head. “No way.”
“Should we just sit here for a little bit.”
“Mhmm. That sounds nice.”
“Come here, then.”
You wrapped your arms around his elbow and leaned your head on his shoulder. You couldn’t help but smile when you felt him kiss the top of your head, before leaning his cheek there.
“Did you have a good day, sweetheart?”
“I did. Bucky’s a lot of fun.”
He hummed and was quiet for a moment. You felt him tense in your hold before he spoke again.
“Was today really a date?”
You took a deep breath, before pulling your face away so you could look at him.
“Yes, sort of.” You squeezed his arm. “Nat set me up with Bucky. But neither of us wanted to be on the date.”
“I’m… confused. I thought we were dating.”
“I know. Bucky told me.”
“What do you mean Bucky told you?”
He pulled away to look at you.
“Steve, I didn’t know that you thought we were dating.”
“I guess I was too subtle.”
It wasn’t an annoyed statement, more disappointed.
“It’s more complicated than that. I wondered if it might be romantic when Wednesdays became date night. But I also do that with Natasha so I thought maybe you just wanted some quality time.”
“And when we started cuddling in public and sleeping together?”
“I don’t know. I thought maybe. I knew what I wanted it to be, but I was terrified to ask.”
“I don’t understand, why?”
You couldn’t meet his eye.
“Y/n, talk to me,” he murmured, swiping his thumb over your cheekbone.
“I didn’t think you could possibly want me in the same way I want you.”
“Oh, sweetheart. I owe you an apology.”
“For what?”
“I was scared too. Couldn’t imagine you wanting me. But I knew I had to try. But I asked in a way that I could play it off if you said no. You were so excited about date night, and I guess deep down I knew that maybe you weren’t on the same page, but I didn’t want to risk losing what I had.”
“Steve,I love you.”
“I love you. And I want to be with you. I’m sorry I didn’t make that clear before.”
You closed the distance between you and kissed him.
“I want to be with you too.”
Tumblr media
Bucky watched the two of you with a fond smile. He could only hope that he’d have an equally happy outcome. The concern twisted his smile into a grimace.
“Sorry about Y/n,” Sam murmured.
Bucky gave him a confused look.
“What are you sorry for?”
“It seemed like you two really hit it off.”
“She’s awesome. We really bonded.”
“But she and Steve are… you know,” he shrugged. “I’m surprised Wanda didn’t know.”
“Well… Y/n didn’t know either…”
“Wait, what?”
“Y/n didn’t think Steve liked her back. She was very surprised when I told her that they had been dating for two months,” Bucky chuckled.
“Man, I asked him how it went when he asked her out and he just said great. They had been totally on the same page. Hopeless.”
“To his credit, she said she ignored a lot of signs. She was worried she was reading things wrong,” Bucky admitted slowly.
“I get that,” Sam murmured. “Sometimes you’ve got to just say what you feel.”
“Even if it could ruin the best friendship you’ve ever had?”
Sam’s mouth opened but no sound came out. Bucky took his notebook from his pocket and opened it to the worn page.
“I haven’t been honest with you. And I’m still not sure what to say, so I think the best thing is for you to read it.”
Sam’s hands shook as he took the notebook, fingers running over the indents of the letters.
Forever and Never Again…
My heart and the sky thundering.
An alcove and your arms a safe haven.
A white hot kiss.
Your lips a brand - marking me beneath my skin.
Only I know it’s there.
It will be there forever.
Our bodies entwined.
Embedded in my memory.
Forever.
Your touch fleeting.
A whisper against my skin.
Never felt again.
My heart. Yours. Forever.
Your touch. Mine. Never again.
“Buck,” Sam whispered. “My heart is yours.”
Bucky felt the warm caress of Sam’s hand for just a moment before his lips crashed into his. His hand cupped the back of Sam’s neck, pulling him closer.
“I love you,” Bucky whispered when he pulled back, leaning his forehead against Sam.
“I love you too. I’ve been crazy about you for years. I thought that you didn’t want me. We made out at that party and then you iced me out. I thought I was just a drunken mistake.”
“That’s what I thought I was. And you acted so nonchalant about it. I didn’t want to be that guy who was all clingy and “what are we” over one kiss.”
“You’re everything to me.”
Tumblr media
Epilogue
Natasha linked her arm through yours as you all walked back to the parking lot after the bonfire.
“You and Steve sure make a cute couple.”
“Thanks.” You couldn’t stop yourself from teasing her. “How does it feel to be wrong?”
“What was I wrong about?” She asked tilting her head.
“Me and Bucky. You said we were perfect for each other.”
“I did. I also said that he was exactly what you needed.”
“You did…”
“And he was. He got Steve to admit how he felt for real didn’t he?”
You stopped in your tracks and stared at her.
“You set me up.”
“Actually Wanda and I set all of you up,” she explained smugly.
“NAT!”
“What? Do you know how annoying it is to watch two people who are in love with each other not be together.”
“So this worked out just like you wanted.”
“Better than we could have dreamed.” She smiled smugly.
“I’m kinda mad. But thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”

Spoken In Dreams
Warning: the following references the events of the F/SN Fate route. If you haven't yet, play the VN so you don't get spoilers!
---
CLANG
Val's hands were suddenly empty, her training sword skittering across the floor, well out of reach. Normally this was when she would get hit, and she tensed herself in preparation for the strike. Today, however, Arturia pulled her attack, giving a quick, gentle tap on Val's shoulder with Excalibur.
"You are distracted, Master. Let us finish for today."
"Sorry, it's nothing. Give me a few minutes, I'll get a drink and we can start again."
Val walked over to her bag to take out her water bottle, taking a moment to try getting her head on straight. It had just been a dream, after all, nothing important. With a sigh, she dropped her bottle and made her way back to the mat. Arturia was sitting down now, her pose almost meditative, and the training sword they had been using was nowhere to be found.
"Uh..."
"You are distracted. While your devotion is commendable, to not be present is to invite defeat."
"Sure, that makes sense I guess...It's just a stupid dream, though! I mean, It wasn't even a nightmare, so why am I so caught up on it?"
Just for a moment, Arturia's face revealed a moment of surprise.
"A dream? Tell me of it. Perhaps sharing it may help relieve your mind."
Val raised an eyebrow,
"I mean, it was just one of those weird things that only makes sense while you're dreaming, but alright, sure. I'm on this street. It's winter, but warmer than you'd expect, so I'm in this heavy dress instead of a heavy coat or something. And I see Heracles there, sword in hand, and I just know he's about to kill some people if I don't stop him. But instead of being smart and telling him to stop, I start fighting him. In the dream, I know I should be able to beat him, but I'm slow, weaker than I'm supposed to be. I'm keeping up with him, but only barely. And he's about to get me, but this guy I was protecting jumps out and gets between us, literally gets himself cut in two. And Herc, he's just gone now, and I'm back in what's supposed to be my home worrying about this dead guy, except somehow he isn't dead? Like, he was almost in two pieces, but now Ishtar and I are bandaging him up like it'll fix things, and it is somehow. And I just wanted to shake him for doing something so stupid, but was so relieved when I knew he was going to be okay?"
Arturia's face is stoic as she listens, but her hands are clenched tight against her knees. She doesn't say anything, however, and Val continues on.
"Of course, once I realize he's going to heal up, we're in this forest, me and him and Ishtar again. And I know we're there to save him again, right? And we're fighting Herc again, because we didn't learn our lesson the first time. But for some reason, we're fighting together this time. Like, I know he's not gonna sit back, so I'm just rolling with it. And then suddenly he just pulls this sword out of nowhere, and I know we're in the clear somehow. So we're both swinging this sword together, and it's-"
"Caliburn."
Arturia cuts Val off abruptly. Her hands tremble, though her face remains as impassive as ever.
"What?"
"The sword. It was Caliburn, the Sword of Selection."
"Wait, you mean..."
"It should come as little surprise that Masters can share the dreams of their Servants, given what I understand you have had to deal with. That was the memory of a Holy Grail War I was summoned to."
"Oh, oh wow...wait, but don't Servants generally not remember their prior summons?"
Arturia let out a small, awkward chuckle.
"I had...strange circumstances with my summoning. Technically, I had not yet died, and was being summoned due to a...deal I had made, as I awaited death. Because I had yet to join the Throne of Heroes, the memories remain on my Spirit Origin."
"But why haven't you said anything? It's gotta be weird, fighting with other Servants who were your enemies..."
"That is precisely why I said nothing. It would be...rude, to speak to them of events they do not recall..."
Arturia seemed lost in her own thoughts, and being reminded of these memories seemed to be troubling her. Val put her hand over Arturia's.
"Kinda seems like you've been wanting to talk this out with somebody. If you want, I'm kinda confused about what was going on?"
Arturia smiled fondly as she spoke, telling the story of what had occurred.
"Then to clarify, it was not Ishtar present at that time. The person acting as her host, Rin, was Archer's Master during the war. She was an ally of my Master at the time, Shirou. He was a good man, if a bit foolish, but more than that, he was... He was my sheathe. It gives me hope, seeing Ishtar here, that he and I may one day meet again."
Arturia sat with Val, telling the story of the Fifth Fuyuki Grail War. It was at times painful, and deeply personal, and so Val was honored to be allowed to listen. And as the tale came to a close, she found herself sharing in Arturia's hope.
---
A/N: so this has been sitting unfinished in my drafts for weeks. My creativity has been running a bit dry recently, but I'm glad to finally get this out. Esp because Fate route is my favorite thusfar, and shirou/saber is good civ. Tho this does feel like a long-winded way of getting across my headcanon that Arturia remembers the events of fsn and chooses to hold back.
That said, both servant and master see each other's dreams. What did Arturia see? Find out...some other time maybe!

Binge-Reading: Fate/Stay Night VN, Fate Route Day 9
In which Shirou meets another one of the players on the field, and he finally gets a dressing-down for his most pernicious character flaw.
Stopping Point: Dawn of Day 7
I Prefer Ikari
And thus we reach our first truly significant diversion from the UBW storyline I’m more familiar with: Shinji just up and outs himself as a master in an attempt to forge an alliance with Shirou. That’s a move I definitely wasn’t expecting, considering what a despicable slimeball this kid is. But it certainly makes my picture of him a whole lot more complicated; this route isn’t gonna let me just dismiss him as a wholesale villain. Slimeball or not, his offer is genuine, and he treats Shirou with fairness even when he’s turned down. Heck, I think this is the first time I’ve actually heard Rider speak; there’s a personality under that intimidating blindfold! There’s something Shinji wants out of this war, some wish he wants granted, but he’s not necessarily gonna take the most despicable path in order to achieve that goal. And Shirou, for his part, is smart enough not to take Shinji at his word that the barrier around the school isn’t his doing; he’s not a complete idiot, at least. Though it still really frustrates me how Shirou just does not seem to fucking process that maybe he could stand to be a little less accommodating to a guy he knows IS ABUSING HIS SISTER. YES I KNOW I KEEP HARPING ON THIS, BUT IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF. I’m almost inclined to think that Shirou wasn’t supposed to know Shinji was abusing Sakura, and that moment where it’s made clear he does was kept in by accident, because that’s really how it feels sometimes. Otherwise, I cannot fathom how a guy established to be this over-protective of girls would somehow overlook that kind of behavior.
FUCKING FINALLY
But speaking of Shirou’s attitudes towards women, HE WAS FINALLY CHALLENGED ON THEM! HOLY SHIT! Christ, do you know how long I’ve been waiting for Saber to finally snap and chew him out for treating her like a damsel instead of a warrior? For her to finally put her foot down and rip apart his contradictory attitudes towards fighting? IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME. It’s about damn time someone finally stepped up and slapped Shirou in the face with some cold, hard reality. Listen, I love the man, but every single moment he spends fretting that Saber should “be more docile” makes me further regret ever tainting my image of him by starting this VN in the first place. Shirou isn’t a bad person, but this was a reality check he desperately needed. Yes, it sucks that he’s still so weak that others have to put themselves in harm’s way to fight for his sake, but patronizing sexism isn’t going to make them trust him any more. He needs to get better, because as Saber rightly points out, a shield prepared by him is no better than paper at this point. If he wants Saber to trust him to fight for her, he needs to trust her in turn to fight for him, until he’s strong enough to assist her in the same way.
There’s actually an interesting sort of parallel drawn between Saber and Shirou; Saber herself is kind of self-sacrificing to a fault. The reason she disobeys his orders and heads out to fight Assassin is because she doesn’t want to risk his life any more than he hers. There’s a great moment in their argument where Shirou tries to talk her out of going by bringing up the fact that he’s come close to death so many times over the course of their previous battles and doesn’t want to take any risks he can’t afford, and it’s the only tactic that really manages to shake her: ”Bringing that up is unfair, Shirou.” She doesn’t see herself as human, so she’s totally fine breaking her own body against the rocks if it means getting closer to their shared goal, but a mere human like Shirou? Never mind her master? She wouldn’t dare dream of putting him in similar danger. They both see it as their duty to keep the other one safe, and as Rin points out, it’s because they value the other more than they do themselves. In Saber’s case, it’s because she’s literally a summoned tool who doesn’t even regard herself as human, but in Shirou’s case, it’s because he really just sucks that much at caring for himself. He’s got a martyr complex a mile wide; he would sacrifice anything and everything for the sake of helping someone he cares for. But now, that desire is butting heads with someone who’s literal reason for existing is to prioritize his needs over her own, and what’s more, she’s actually strong enough to justify why she should be the protector in their relationship. And Shirou just can’t fucking deal with someone else sacrificing for him that way again... not after seeing everyone else go up in flames around him while he somehow made it out alive. Small wonder he ends up lashing out in such broken, caustic ways. But if he’s gonna be the hero he wants to be, he’s gonna have to learn how to lean on people for support and let them take the blows he isn’t strong enough to, girls or otherwise. Here’s hoping he can get that through his skull before too much longer.
Odds and Ends
-Nooot exactly loving the amount of joking about high school girls gaining weight. This kind of shit is what gives kids eating disorders.
-Ah shit, I forget who’s spying on Shirou. That’s probably not good.
-”Reject lust. Calm down, Issei.” aksjdhaskd
-And there’s Assassin. About time we had another fight, god damn.
-Wind. Sword. UNLEASHED. God damn, she’s awesome.
-And he stops the fight before the spy can get any info on Saber. Assassin’s a regular class act.
-”I don’t have any complaints, so go on and continue.” GOD DAMMIT TOHSAKA STOP BEING GREAT FOR TWO SECONDS AND GIVE SOMEONE ELSE A CHANCE
Things are heating up, it seems. See you next time!

I loved watching the anime. It’s honestly pretty good for what it is. The animation is a bit wonky at time, but the characters are always so likeable and sweet and it warms my heart everytime they are on screen.
I also really love everything they’ve added. Every single scenes they added that weren’t in the game felt really in character and it meant spending more time with the characters i know and love, and this is very precious to me.
I also love how they incorporated the rookies in the story. To see all four of them was very cute and organic, even if Guy seemed a bit more tacked on, but i do like that Citron is thinking about him this foundly while he’s with his family. So even if it’s clumsy i love it, after all Guy isn’t supposed to be in Japan before another 5 months.
I have a harder time with everything they *removed* from the game.
I’m rereading currently but i’m still at Spring chapter, nothing too big jumped at me so far, but it gets. Very weird especially regarding Autumn and Winter, both as seasons and as characters (see, Sakyo in the summer episodes).
It was a hard task because those chapters are especially stuffed, Autumn and Winter is when the plot becomes heavier in general, and they have a lot, lot of contents, even more so contents i understand are tricky to adapt (the Portraits for instances).
But it stings how much was actually removed.
And it doesn’t help that for Winter it’s on my favorite characters too so i’m really feeling even sadder than i ought to be.
they may be trying to get away with how much they cut by adapting the events. That’s all i can see. Knowing they had to do cuts and that the events are ways shorter so they may want to fill them in.
Characters i felt had really their plotlines cutdown were parts of are especially Omi, Sakyo, Azuma and Hisoka.
Omi, tho, i felt like what was cut was all the built up to his past before his portrait: the fact he’s recognized as a gang member and all before he mentions it.  But i suppose if they adapt The Stranger they can expend plently on this. to a lesser extend i do feel like Taichi got a few cuts and he does have focus in The Stranger but.... idk if that would salvage his cuts... Since what was cut was like, him sabotaging the play by hiding the guns.  But yeah if they adapt The Stranger they can try and make up for it.
For Sakyo, i do feel like they mostly cut buildup stuff for him, his hesitation and stuff like that, and while i dislike the fact it’s not early on, i can see those stuff being discussed and tackled in Genji The Wanderer.
For Azuma, well, obviously, Nocturnality. He is supposed to relapse there, fall back into his bad habit and opening up to his troupe about his trauma. Since what they cut was his original relapse and him opening up to Izumi about his trauma, they may not want to do a “redux” of it, but it’s... imo kinda missing the point that it’s something Azuma does a lot... that he *relapses*. He even relapses in the latest Winter Chapter. This is like. A character plot point because he relapses once in the first winter chap, then another time in Nocturnality, then another time in the second winter chap, and you can see specifically from watching Tasuku how each relapse are treated differently in a way to help Azuma heal without magically healing him from relapsing.  I do feel like we lose a lot about the fact Azuma mostly does relapse because his pain has been here for ever, while if they just talk about it with Nocturnality, it may seem like a “one time” thing.  But. It has an opening to excuse what was removed at least, even if i don’t like the way it paces Azuma’s arc.
For Hisoka what the fuck are they going to do.  Are they going to move his August’s dreams and April’s letter to the begining of My Master’s Mesmerized by Mystery? They can’t just skip over it, the looming threat of April is one of the thing that makes the Winter events so chilling and the payoff in Act 2 so good.  They can’t have Izumi not know about either, since this is a major plot point she has to know.  The fact no one comment on the “maybe Hisoka recovered his memories” bothers me because no!! he’s not supposed to at this point....  It hurts tho from the point of view of how, this incident originally is one of the reasons Hisoka feel at home with his troupe and i find it odd to move it after Hisoka says “this is where i belong”, but i’d rather it to be moved than deleted please this is my favorite arc.....
And there’s also Yukio’s phonecall that is omitted which is a shame bc i’m pretty sure this is built up for Act 3?
But all of that is under the assumption they would adapt the events at all, which we can’t be sure about....
The anime had limited time and it feels like it, and it feels that it was a labor of love, so it’s not like i can be totally mad either. The stuff that are great are very great, the arcs that are well done are very much well done,
but it does feel like they missed time and had to make a lot of cuts and in the end it’s forshadowing and build up that was sacrified... and on  one hand i get it because it’s ultimately what can be removed while still keeping the plot coherent, but as someone who’s a sucker for those it makes me sad :(
Anyway i’ll keep rereading the VN for now.
That said the anime is a good “introduction” to the VN if you guys wanna try out - but i’d truly recommand reading the VN at least after for the full experience because man.....
It was still nice to see a few things in motions and it’s a good bonus to watch after reading the VN.
I complain a lot DLKFJDFLKDF but. My favs arcs :(.
