can't believe this hasn't been said before but unhinged!scarlett and unhinged!dave would be an iconic duo. shame pi didn't get a second season bc these two in an alliance would basically succeed in destroying the island, they'd wipe everyone out
the fact that they're both versions of the nerd character so they're already smart in their own ways, the fact that they have absolutely zero fucks to give anymore, their individual darker sides have come out (whether it was hidden consciously (scarlett) or unconsciously (dave)), and they've each attempted to kill/seriously injure one or more contestant(s) (and mess up the island in the process) just to reach their end goal. imagine if these two found a common goal somehow, literally nothing could get in their paths (except possibly each other)
#these two in an alliance that ends with one or both of them turning on the other would be wild#tbh i know ppl talk abt wishing roti getting a second season but the potential in a second season for pi?? there is so much!!#literally half the dynamics have changed and so have personalities for most of the characters in pi#max and scarlett's dynamic change and their shifts in characters#topher could easily shift from chris lover to chris hater. two extremes!!#he just wants to get chris fired or in pain or smth lmao#dave becoming more competitive and less romantic he turns more heartless (and a bit more reserved and unpredictable)#his heart is there its just v shrouded. and repressed memories dave of the finale!!#he knows smth big happened but the memories of exact details are fuzzy (when that mental curtain is ripped away its gonna be chaos)#amy and sammy's change in dynamics. sammy standing up for herself!!#i wanna say sky would join a second season to get a chance at the money (im a shawn winner truther)#but idk if after all that she'll want to lmao#but skave dynamic total shift if sky comes back!!!#dave doing anything to get her eliminated sky slowly starting to retaliate#it'd be interesting to explore ella and sugar's characters if they've changed or not#evil scarlett who doesnt hide it!!#jashawn ainât gonna join i think lmao they deserve a nice break plus they split the million so#rodney who is still a romantic but starts to understand the truth of boundaries and the rose colored glasses start to break#(he gets a sexuality revelation when he crushes on one of the guys)#just imagine how wack things would have gone with a second season#the different interactions and alliances and friendships and enemies#and the interactions/dynamics in the first season def would have changed in a second one#this is making me remember the whole layout for a second pi season younger me wrote with new and old contestants#anyway! second season pi was so deserved it would have been wack#noahtally-famous#total drama#td dave#td scarlett#tdpi

Since you like jo, i need to hear more about your opinion about her
GOD I THOUGHT ID NEVER BE ASKED
Resident Jo guy here ready to talk about her too much
Funny enough I think Jo might be the character Iâve talked about the most on here? Not that anyone asked but I know Iâve done one on her and her dynamic with lightning, multiple jomarias, and whenever AS or roti comes up I always talk about her itâs like thereâs some unknown force making me.
But for my jo take for today, I wanna talk about her/heather and the dynamic as well as the parallels between both.
Jo and heather are like one of the only mix gen dynamics, which is crazy. I can only think of like Scottney and like every other interaction between characters are so basic they have the essence of just âhello _____ character from other season!â âHello _____ character from other season! Weâve now hit our interaction check box meaning this season wasnât entirely pointless and definitely couldnât just have been another roti season but everyone complained at the new charactersâ âhuzzah!â
Sorry got sidetracked. Butt Jo and Heather do interact beyond that and I WISH we got more of them
To compare both, both are a âvillainâ in the series they compete in. And both are a take on a type of âbullyâ.
Heather is your classic mean girl but better. Sheâs the Regina George the Heather Chandler thats her trope. Yes thereâs more depth to her but for this comparison I just want to talk about her in relation to Jo. Now to contrast Jo is more of the âjock bullyâ archetype. But once again, better.
Despite there clear differences they actually have more in common than I initially thought. Both take advantage of people they see as âless than themâ. Heather with Beth and Lindsay, and Jo with Cameron and Lightning. Lightning and Lindsay clearly have some similarities in theyâre both stupid and their manipulator uses this to their advantage, making them think they have an ally/friend but in actuality they are just being used. And Beth and Cameron are similar in the sense that their dynamic with their âbullyâ is also disguised as a friendship. Beth wants to be in the popular clique and Cameron wants to just survive this, meaning heâs willing to work with Jo despite her clearly being mean rude and horrible to him. Both Jo and Heather use these people to make it far, but ultimately their downfall is due to the people they used all season (jo being betrayed by cam and voted off by cam and lightning and heather having Lindsay being the reason she looses the challenge).
They also both have a very similar dynamic, heather with Gwen and Leshawna and Jo with Zoey and Anne Maria. Yes I know the Gwen/leshawna dynamic is very different to the Anne Maria/zoey dynamic, but when it comes to heather and Jo theyâre actually kinda similar. Gwen is typically a little play thing for Heather to torment, with Leshawna always being at her neck standing up for other people and not being afraid to put heather in her place and fight back, and while Jo is rude to everyone Zoey will often not retaliate back, unlike Anne Maria who is, like Leshawna, always at her neck usually standing up for herself and other people (seen with how she defends the likes of cam guys wait till I drop the AM essay I have proof of this) and not being afraid to put Jo in her place and fight back against her rude/pushy/bossy/etc.
Their competitiveness and want to win is also something that both have. While itâs not as evident in heather (more in world tour than any other) they both have a desire to win individual and team challenges, as well as overall too.
Also just remembered in All stars they both make an alliance with an enemy of some kind only for them to immediately try to get them eliminated, both times backfiring with heather getting out instead and lightning being seen as useful later on (stfu no he wouldnât have been)
The first clear difference between both is Jos internalised misogyny.
GOD I hate when people deny this itâs so obvious to me am I the only one that sees this but yeah anyway Jo makes an off handed comment about heathers âgirly short shortsâ or something idk I canât remember Iâm not rewatching Iâm at college right now
Butt, I think some of Jos hate for Heather comes from some of her internalised misogyny. They would genuinely make for good friends if they werenât both such haters. But alas Jo sees someone sheâs compatible with and would get along with, but said person is a girly teen girl and doesnât want to allow for a platonic female relationship. She doesnât want to be friends with someone who is what she hates about herself. Sheâs not feminine and I donât think thatâs the reason for her internalised misogyny, I donât think she needs to be âgirlyâ or anything, and I donât think sheâs implied to be trans to me, I see it more as a societal thing where she feels like she âisnât one of the girlsâ and better than people who are girly because to her sheâs an exception and society tells her that guys are better than girls and her personality/attitude/interests/identity aligns more with the masculine gender (not trans just vibes ykwim) and so she denies all of her feminine traits to be better than everyone else. I think had jo and heather had more time, she couldâve overcome this and eventually formed a bit of a alliance/even friendship with heather, similarly to what started to/wouldâve happened with jo and Anne Maria guys jomaria canon guys guys please
So yeah tl;dr Jo and heather are peak and wouldâve been even more peak had they had more time
#Iâm the jo guy now this is my niche Iâm here for you jo fans#total drama#tdroti#chat time#total drama revenge of the island#total drama island#roti#tdi#jomaria#td heather#td jo#total drama jo#total drama heather#long rant#ranting#jo take for today#bhnsby

after four seasons, this alliances/friendship web is getting really complicated.
the mean gills:
internally are two friends from previous smps with similar gamestyles who are both very loyal to their teammates
have a strong alliance with the clockers because cleo is in charge of them and cleo and scott were soulmates by choice in the third season.
have no official alliance with the bad boys and have periods of hostility, but this is complicated by the fact that scott and jimmy were "married" in the first season and scott's been chasing jimmy ever since (hence why scott gives jimmy a life), and also by the fact that joel loves hunting scott no matter the series for some reason.
have no alliance with the ties but scott is on good terms with several of them due to being generally pleasant, while martyn is on bad terms with several of them due to being generally sneaky and also killing a few of them
had an alliance with the nosy neighbours that was blown up seemingly randomly when pearl stole their enchanting table, but pearl and scott had been partners in season 2 and then scott had refused to partner with her in season 3 when they were soulmates (martin had also abandoned her rather than teaming up).
the bad boys
internally, they are three very good friends who've known each other for a long time and have a very established dynamic. you would think this makes them a stronger team but unfortunately this makes them very themselves around each other - jimmy becomes very pathetic, joel becomes very reckless, and grian sets about creating as much discord and drama as humanly possible, including trying to start several unsuccessful coups within the group itself for seemingly little reason
have an alliance with (and are "cousins" to) the clockers, with the only previous link between the groups being grian and scar, who were partners in season 1 and soulmate partners in season 3. they work well together in a team and both like to create chaos, but grian seems to resent being "tied to" scar across the seasons (he was protecting scar because he killed him in season 1 and unwillingly soul-bound in season 3, when he 'cheated' on scar). so even though they have a lot of interaction and seem to get on most of the time, grian would rather go out of his way to avoid teaming with scar or working with him too much
have been technically enemies this season with the nosy neighbours because jimmy decided to go apeshit over a frog, but joel and grian didn't actually care about this feud. grian also was previously bigb's "secret soulmate" in season 3/double life, but given the intense partnerships, this didn't actually amount to them spending any time together and grian has largely ignored him this season until randomly forming an alliance with him after the rest of the bad boys died
ties
internally they are old friends who've worked together in varying capacities for a number of years and have been in alliances and teams with each other before. because they've mostly worked with each other rather than with a lot of other people on the server, they don't have strong alliances outside of the group but are very cohesive internally and work together well (barring etho, who is a conundrum)
are enemies with the clockers except for etho, who is the clocker's dad in their roleplay set-up although he is now currently at war with scar and cleo. this seems totally nonsensical at first, but etho and bdubs have what is best described as a "thing" where they seem to always need to be allied with each other even when it doesn't really make sense. like for example in season 3 when they had different soulmates, and in this season where etho has spent multiple episodes roleplaying families with a team where all the members other than bdubz are actively trying to kill him on sight
some of the team have teamed up with some of bad boys before in large groups, and joel/etho and tango/jimmy were soulmates in double life but with minimal effect on this season's dynamics
some of the team have previously allied/teamed with bigb
clockers
are team members all from the hermitcraft server where they've known each other for a while. cleo and bdubs have been teammates before.
are controlled by cleo who is in charge, so largely her previous relationships are their previous relationships - they have animosity with the nosey neighbours because bigb betrayed her in season 2 and animosity with pearl because of the tension in the divorce arc from double life when cleo teamed up with her soulmate.
cleo and etho have always had a strange relationship. cleo and etho are both... intimidating, though for different reasons. over the entirety of the life smp, cleo has always held that etho was overrated skill-wise (perhaps correctly) as a danger on the life SMP, and seemingly in response etho treated cleo as though she scared him, which might have been to make it seem to others like cleo didn't rate him because she was good rather than because he was bad. this largely worked for three seasons: however, this house of cards seems to finally have come tumbling down in limited life, where etho being washed up has become a server-wide joke.
and that's what you missed on glee...

I wrote a 3,000 words analysis about AP and Joey's relationship/friendship from Atomic Puppet if anyone is interested
Sorry if the format is a bit over the place.
In the series ¨Atomic Puppet¨ the main characters AP and Joey Felt join forces to become the hero ¨Atomic Puppet¨. This involves Joey having to wear AP as puppet on his hand and usually use a phrase such as a ¨Atomic Time¨ to transform into their superhero form.
Because of this, most of the fighting and using their powers is based on them being able to work together as a team and being in synth in general. If they canât agree on an idea and start arguing, they can easily be overwhelmed by their enemies during battle.
AP and Joeyâs relationship is a crucial part of the series, if not the main core of it, as a lot of episodes are usually about their dynamic and them learning from each other or having different opinions on how to deal with an issue.
Their relationship is a bit hard to put into a ¨box¨ as it changes depending on the situation. The best way to describe them would be as best friends and team hero partners, since that is what they portrayed as for most of time. They could also be described as ¨brothers¨ in some ways, because while AP is an adult and Joey really looks up to A.P., it doesnât fully translate to a parent-son relationship. Joey and AP see each other more or less on equal level and Joey doesnât exactly see AP as a parental figure. Another better way to define it could be as a mentor and pupil dynamic with them.
As previously stated, their interactions are a bit different from your average protagonist duo as they both depend on each other to be able to use their superpowers. While other action series that have their protagonists be part of a team the characters themselves are often able to handle things on their own, in Atomic Puppet this isnât fully the case since both AP and Joey are a lot more vulnerable in their regular forms and they canât use their powers when they are that way.
This explains the reason why they are usually seen together, not too far away from each other, when Joey goes outside his house. They donât always know when some villain is going to show up, meaning they have to be on alert and stay close so they can quickly transform when the situation calls it. From APâs part, he depends a lot on Joey to be able to move around the world outside Joeyâs room because of his small size as a puppet and his general lack of powers. The fact that he is a living puppet is something that can get a lot of unnecessary attention from other people, meaning that he has to stay hidden from public view, which he does by hiding in Joeyâs jacket or his hair.
AP can be very helpless in this state, as he can be easily grabbed and caught by others and a lot of times he has to pretend to be an unliving puppet to not get attention, meaning he canât do much while he is being grabbed. A good example of this is the episode ¨AP vs. Disastro¨ when the villain confuses AP with a cat and tries stealing him. Joey has to chase the villain down to be able to get A.P back.
As a result of this, Joey and A.P. can get freaked out when they get separated from each other. Joey becomes very concerned when he notices that AP isnât around and has walked away from him for a minute since he is aware that his friend can easily get into trouble that way.
It could be also said that AP is emotionally dependent on Joey as well. At the start of the series he doesnât have anyone else aside from Joey, Pauline and Mookie (the last being an enemy of his) that knows that he is a puppet. This comes in part from AP being too prideful to admit to others that he is a puppet now, something he finds humiliating when he is reminded of it. For a while he refused telling his friends in the Justice Alliance about what happened to him, being too ashamed to face them in this form.
This means that the only person he talks to is Joey. He does have Pauline, Joeyâs friend, as an ally but he doesnât get along with her much and nor do they interact with each other that often. AP has a lot of emotional baggage of being turned into a puppet and having lost his status as a well known superhero, feeling like he has been reduced to a shadow of what he used to be. He is prone to feeling down when other people bring up or remind him that his new form is different, which can go along with him somewhat lashing out and getting angry out of his own frustration.
He tends to share these feelings of frustration and sadness with Joey, who doesnât have a problem with AP telling these things to him. However, at times AP can get too stubborn and prideful to share his own insecurities and ends up with him pushing Joey away and causing them to argue with each other on more than one occasion.
Joey usually tries his best to be understanding of AP's situation and doesnât blame him when he becomes rather depressed. He tries cheering AP up and finding other solutions to the problem at hand. Over time it becomes easier for him to manage these situations as AP has less issues with being more open with him later on. Even at some point he allows AP to keep one of Abbyâs dolls (Travis) as companion since it makes AP happy and helps him with dealing with his own insecurities and problems.(Lacer Takes Over)
AP seems to have some abandonment issues or an overall fear of Joey leaving him if he found another hero he could team up with such as seen in the episode "Private Proton¨ when a mind controlled Joey started hanging out with Mookie more than with him. Around the middle of the episode AP breaks down believing that Joey is going to become Mookieâs sidekick and how nobody would pay attention to him because he is a puppet.
In the episode ¨Worn Boy¨ Joey gains moth-like powers that allow him to shoot webs to move around and fight. When he shows this to AP, AP calls it lame and gets angry upon learning that they canât transform into Atomic Puppet. Joey tries inviting him to join him in fighting a villain but AP turns it down and pushes Joey away, hiding his jealousy of his team partner having powers while he doesnât and being afraid that Joey will leave him or even not be his friend anymore since he doesnât have to rely on AP to fight crime. At the end of the episode both AP and Joey make up and Joey loses his moth-like powers. AP apologizes to Joey for the way he was acting earlier to which Joey answers that ¨ no matter what happens, he still has APâs back¨ indicating that he wonât abandon AP just because he happens to get new powers on his own and they will still be a team for him.
As patient and understanding Joey can be of AP, he has his limits too. He isnât afraid of speaking up when AP is acting inappropriate or too rude for his taste. He calls out AP when he gets in trouble and a lot of times he grabs him and takes him with him, not that AP canât put up much of a fight in his normal state. He is often amused by APâs antics or just rolls his eyes at them, not taking AP dramatic heroics too seriously unless necessary. This comes from how there have been instances that AP believes that random people or animals are villains and have to ¨be thrown to the sun¨, being paranoic a bit too much for Joeyâs liking. Said paranoia has put Joey in trouble in a few episodes, mainly at the start of the show.
It is possible that a lot of APâs earliest characterization comes from him acting too bossy and sometimes cruel to other people when he was Captain Atomic and not being held accountable for his poor treatment of others. However, as a puppet he doesnât have that ¨superior status¨ over Joey, more like the opposite. Joey can easily shut him down and grab AP when he thinks that AP is about to get himself into trouble and AP canât do much against it since he relies on Joey to do a lot of things.
In some ways this ends up being positive for AP, as he learns to be more humble and not be so inconsiderate of others. For example in the ¨Sick Day¨ episode he didnât take into account how Joey wasnât feeling well enough to fight and forced him to fight in that state. In later episodes he shows more concern when Joey is too sick to go patrol and lets him rest for a while until Joey gets better. In "Pinched Nerves¨ he allows Joey to take a break for a few hours because of him still being in shock after almost seeing his father crash earlier when they were fighting a villain. In ¨Ticked Off¨ he didnât seem to have issues with trying to kill the tick that was making Joey feel very sick and weak.
Being most of his life as a superhero, AP usually struggles with more mundane situations that he finds himself into as a puppet. He has to get used to Joeyâs routine and often doing house chores and having to wait for Joey to deal with certain issues before going on patrol. In some episodes he jumps out of Joey without telling him and sneaks away when he gets bored. This more often than not ends with them getting into trouble, mainly Joey who gets blamed for APâs actions. In the "Atomic Goo¨ it shows that AP doesnât like going to school with Joey and in some cases he would rather stay at home. In this episode they both get stuck in their superhero form and AP is forced to participate in Joeyâs school activities, something he complains a lot while doing so.
In contrast Joey doesnât struggle with the mundane, in fact he enjoys these things. He likes to spend time with his family and tries taking care of his sister Abby in a few episodes, ignoring AP when he asks him to transform into Atomic Puppet. In spite of enjoying being a superhero, he wouldnât like to be that 24/7 unlike A.P since he has his own life outside his hero role. This is something that AP doesnât always understand considering he demands Joey to transform in moments that arenât the best for him.
This doesnât mean that AP doesnât know how to have fun from time to time. As Captain Atomic he used to have parties in his lair and hang out with his friends in the Justice Alliance. There are scenes where he is seen reading comics with Joey and playing video games with him. While he sometimes tries to be the responsible adult figure, he still can go along with Joeyâs teenager ideas, like having a party inside the lair in the episode "Bad Lair Day" which results in the villains showing up to destroy it. The "Bucket List¨ episode is another good example of this when he allows Joey to use Atomic Puppetâs powers to complete a list he made when he was five years old for the sake of Joey having fun. They even go back in time when Joey suggests if they can do that.
AP tries to be the ¨responsible adult¨ but the issue is that he can be as irresponsible as Joey if not more than him. His ego can get in the way when finishing a task or when he should try giving better advice to Joey. The reality is that AP is rather childish and immature on his own, which other adults around him find annoying. There was one case he wasnât invited to an important party event out of fear he would partially ruin it. ( Truce or Consequences)
There have been some cases that AP had the opportunity to return to his previous superhero life but eventually he decided to go against it because he would miss having Joey as a team partner and maybe friend.
In the episode ¨The Switch¨ he switches bodies with Princess War for around a day. During that time he is happy to have something close to his previous form back even if it doesnât have the same powers. He celebrates it for a moment until he tries calling Joey and realizes that Joey isnât there. When a villain shows up in Princess Warâs lair, he finds talking to himself, like there was another person in the room, since he is used to talking to Joey as Atomic Puppet. By near the end of the episode he wants to return to his puppet body because he misses Joey and being Atomic Puppet.
In another episode from a lot earlier in the series (Bucket List) Joey and him travel through time until they end up in an era when AP was still Captain Atomic and Joey was around 5-6 years old and wasnât into superheroes yet. Joey gets suspicious of this and quickly realizes that AP is planning on warning his past self so he avoids being turned into a puppet later on. AP tries avoiding telling Joey about his idea and eventually he confesses that would like to change the past events. He explains to Joey that he has nothing against him and that he just would like to return to his original form. Joey understands why AP wants to do this but he still cries for a moment, thinking about the possibility of not becoming friends with AP and not being Atomic Puppet any longer.
Near the end of the episode, after they save younger Joey, AP goes against his original idea since it would mean having to sacrifice his friendship with Joey and the kid means too much to AP to go through with his plan. Instead he presents himself to his past self and asks him to keep an eye on little Joey because he would become an important person for him in the future and openly refers to Joey as his team partner for the first time instead of sidekick.
From Joeyâs side, he loves being able to be a superhero along with the hero he was a fan of growing up. He really looks up to AP in some ways and wants to be a superhero just like him when he grows older. In the episode "Hero's Holiday" in the dark future timeline Joey becomes a vigilante of sorts after AP went missing and remained to stay to protect Mega City. His older future self shares some resemblance to Captain Atomicâs human form and he seems to have taken AP's last words to him about how ¨friendships donât last¨ and has avoided making important connections with other people ever since.
Joey has a full collection of different things about Captain Atomic in his room. In some episodes he goes to fan events about Captain Atomic, something that he usually asks AP to come. He has an entire collection of Captain Atomic action figures and has been trying to get each one of them. He can get excited when he gets to meet people who are allies of AP or go to places that Captain used to go to, like his previous lair.
Being Atomic Puppet comes with dealing with some of Captain Atomicâs legacy for Joey, good and bad. In some episodes Joey learns of people that AP hurt with his egocentric attitude and cold treatment when he was still Captain Atomic. One example of this is a comic artist that AP made him lose his passion for making comics after being a jerk to him. Joey is upset upon finding out what happened and tries to help this artist to partially make amends for what AP did to him. He often has to deal with things like this and makes sure that AP tries correcting the mistakes he made to these people, holding him accountable for it.
The biggest example of this is Mookie, who used to be Captain Atomicâs sidekick. As Captain, AP treated Mookie very poorly, being very harsh to him over simple mistakes. Overtime Mookie got tired of APâs treatment and being under his shadow, so he transformed him into a puppet. Joey doesnât seem to have the same levels of animosity that AP has towards Mookie. Sometimes he feels sorry for the guy and tries helping him when he needs saving, which AP doesnât exactly approve of. At times he tries talking things out with Mookie only for Mookie to be too bitter to listen to him.
Related to this, Joey and AP can have different ways of dealing with a problem or an enemy. AP would rather use violence and quickly throw his enemies to the sun regardless of the context in the moment. On the other hand Joey has a more cautious approach and would rather see if something is causing the enemy to act evil than jumping to conclusions too quickly. He is less likely to dismiss his enemies as ¨pure evil¨ and doesnât like AP to have this more black and white mentality at times.
In ¨Atomic Hairball¨ he realizes that the reason why Bubbles cat was turning into a giant Monster was because he ate AP yarn earlier on. When they take it out from him, Bubbles goes back to his normal form and they get rid of the atomic hairball/yarn. There are other episodes that AP turns out to be in the right when he suspects some creature/person to be dangerous. In the episode ¨Something Chicken¨ he was correct that a strange looking chicken was a were-chicken he fought years ago and said chicken turns into a monster like a giant bird later on. He was also right when he expressed that it was dangerous for Pauline to wear a legendary sword in ¨Soul Sisters¨ and they had to give it back to the princess when Pauline started to lose control over it.
Although they seem to be very different, AP and Joey also have a lot of things in common which leads them to get along and work together as a team.

I read several of your and not only your analyzes of mortal kombat characters (you did a very good job, btw, thank you for that!) and noticed that no one, as far as I know, mentioned this dialogue between Bi-Han and Liu Kang. maybe you know about it and just didnât think it was necessary to mention, but I only recently saw this and I was very interested in the fact that Bi-Han essentially said that he was ready for peace if the Lin Kuei were left aloneđ. And the sins that Liu Kang talks about are also interesting: does he mean only Bi-Han or inclusive of his ancestors? đ¤I donât know if you expressed an opinion about this, but if anything Iâm interested in hearing
Just in case the pictures wonât show or text may be hard to read from, below the full intro dialogue:
Sub-Zero: You want peace? Let us be. Liu Kang: The Lin Kuei's sins aren't easily forgiven.
Hello there and thank you very much, I appreciate your kind words about my analyzes.Â
I did mention this intro dialogue (though not as a quote) in my reply to discussion about Bi-Hanâs interest or lack of thereof in weaponizing Tarkat illness, as an example that though Sub-Zero believes the ends justifies means, he is still not against a truce, be it with Mileena or Liu Kang, if it benefits him and Lin Kuei.Â
I really like this intro dialogue, because it shows us Bi-Han as a more capable leader that people give him credit for and it does support the sources that his rebellion against Liu Kang is something more than big ambition of just a power-hungry man. For one, we have the theme of freedom and enslavement in his interaction with other characters and though POWER is A) Sub-Zeroâs official character theme and B) has often negative connection, Earthrealmâs safety heavily relies on its championâs might. As in, a show of power is what keeps Outworld in check for centuries. Bi-Han coming from a clan deeply involved in ensuring Earthrealmâs safety, most likely operates on this logic*: Power is what secures your safety.
Yet despite the anger at Liu Kang and Lin Kueiâs situation, this intro suggests that Bi-Han is capable of putting aside emotions - even his pride - for the clanâs greater good. If there is a chance to peacefully end the conflict in a way it benefits his clan, Sub-Zero will take it and this adds a lot of weight to him as a leader. For example, Mileena is so set into her hatred toward Sub-Zero to the point she wonât consider any truce or alliance that could end the conflict in bloodless way because she blames Bi-Han for her motherâs death. Even if he wasnât even there when it happened, and as intro dialogues say, he saw Sindelâs death as regrettable, despite her friendship/alliance with Liu Kang (the enemy). Bi-Han in that matter seems more willing to cease conflicts, as long as Lin Kueiâs independence is secured. And as I said, it adds a lot to our understanding of Sub-Zero, who, logically thinking, was trained since childhood to take over Lin Kuei. Thus I imagine he was prepared to deal with politics to some degree. Though of course, his father did not think Lin Kuei will ever break up with Earthrealm & Fire God.
Understandably Bi-Hanâs enemies have all right to refuse any truce he offered due to Lin Kuei action, especially when he is the one setting the conditions. I assume Liu Kangâs words âThe Lin Kuei's sins aren't easily forgivenâ refers to Bi-Hanâs choices made during storyline (allying with Shang Tsung, Quan Chi and General Shao, not aiding Earthrealm against Titan Shang Tsung) and post-MK1 (suggested by intros & characters endings: attacks on Tarkat people, hunting down his brothers, being in general problem in Outworld). Since Lin Kuei supported Sub-Zero, it makes sense Liu Kang keeps them as much responsible for the mess as their leader and is not willing to just "let them be" as they are at this moment.
[*]This is a topic Iâm planning to talk more about in the upcoming part of âBi-Han & Kuai Liang. Good brother? Evil brother? Nah, just different reactions to traumaâ.Â

Rings of Power Analysis #7
After season 1, in parts 1-6 , I detailed the ways that Elrond and Galadrielâs plot lines in that season rhyme, or harmonize, with with some of the same story beats playing out in ways that highlight thematic differences.
Now I want to catch up with the aftermath of our heroesâ interactions with their kingdoms in decline, because itâs occurred to me that Numenor and Khazad-dum are still in conversation with each other.
Spoilers for season 2
Status of our hero:
Both Galadriel and Elrond are away from the people and events they set in motion for most of the season. Neither would be welcomed, though admittedly Galadriel would be disinclined to try.
What influence they have on these plots was set last season. Even Elrondâs appeal to Durin IV couldnât have happened without their renewed commitment to their friendship and his formation of the ties between eregion and the dwarf kingdom.
Both Elrond and Galadriel got an army out of season 1, from a âfriendâ , and isnât it interesting how it went badly (in the short term) both times.
Miriel wasnât going to return to middle earth with her army without the king of the southlands. Sauron gave Galadriel an army by not telling miriel that he really did take it off a dead guy. The army she gets through layers of deception fails on most counts in the short term but does start things in motion that will bring Numenor into the last alliance
Durinâs army isnât his when Elrond asks for it. Durin III is still king and itâs not acquired through deception but it would have been wrapped up in the coo and the taking of the throne (admittedly for good and important reasons). The army fails Elrond initially, leaving him clinging to seemingly false hope in a heartbreaking scene, but when Durin is king and it is his army, the coming of the dwarves allows the remaining elves from the battle to flee to safety.
Compare the elves who arrive in proto-Rivendell to the men who arrive in pelargir. Recall that Bronwynâs actress left the show and if she hadnât we might have had parallel wounded women leaders arriving at pelargir and Rivendell and Numenor, all ultimately choosing light and faith in the face of darkness. Even with circumstances as they are the music is strong in this writing and I love it.
The loving sacrifice:
Miriel and the elder Durin make similar sacrifices for different reasons, and to to opposing elements.
Miriel chooses faith in the valar and in elendil and faces the trial by sea monster. She knows she could die and that her enemies expected elendil to die but love for the faithful (read as elendil, if you like) and her place as their queen and indeed a queen of the Numenor she tried to create require that she do this thing and willingly.
She walks to the water not because of what sheâs done but because of who she is.
King Durin chooses the fate of his people and the only penance he can offer for the dwarves he killed even as his actions led to the waking of the Balrog (or at least his kingdom responding unhelpfully to that development). He delved too deep, he woke the nameless fear and out of love for his son and his kingdom he leaps to the fire.
The aftermath:
Post sacrifice both plots face uncertainty around succession.
Pharazon learns that miriel was unwittingly involved with sauron and brands her and all the faithful as traitors and we get warning they Durinâs throne isnât as sure a thing as weâd like it to be.
Both have been put in rough positions by their interactions with the elf plots of season 1.
And itâs not directly Elrond or Galadrielâs faults, without the dark that came for both the tree and for khazad Dum, Galadriel doesnât get forcibly retired or end up in numenor and Durin doesnât get recruited for what becomes the ring project.
We donât see slime-ron start either of these things but his involvement seems clear.
The real enemy has always been the Sauron we kind of made along the way.

Thatâs what I got this morning, please talk to me about it in the comments if you want cause we are back to waiting impatiently yâall.

HPHM Cardverse AU: Friends Arenât Faraway
Hey everyone! So I got a small stimulus of inspiration today for Cardverse! Why not flesh out Catoâs friendships with a few of the leading members of the other kingdoms? Two years ago I wrote three fics detailing three of his friendships with the canon OCs, Talbott, Chiara and Badeea. While Cato can regularly interact with his friends at Hogwarts in the canon universe, itâs different for Cardverse.Â
The characters are all in different kingdoms, but physical distance cannot crush true friendships! For this post Iâll be focusing on canon HPHM characters, so only Spades and Hearts will be covered. Cato and Pennyâs ship will be in another post. Iâd love to work on friendships with other peopleâs OCs - all of you guys are always welcome to send me asks and DMs to discuss ideas!Â
Tagging a few mutuals:Â @carewyncromwell, @dat-silvers-girl, @nerdyliv, @helenadurazzo, @oneirataxia-girl (hope you donât mind me tagging yall)
Cardverse AU was originally created by @ariparriâ, who also is the creator of Veruca McQuaid. With all that said, hereâs our feature presentation.
Representing the Land of Clubs, the Ace of Clubs, Cato Reese, often interacts with the officials of other kingdoms. He takes part in meetings where the four kingdoms join to conference on issues that affect all the states. Letters and telephone calls are also used by him to reach his friends in other kingdoms. As a high-ranking Clubs official, he also has the ability ride the train to anywhere in Cinderhaven, with first class accommodations.Â
It is important to note that he was appointed to the position of Ace of Clubs by King Orion Amari in the early stages of a crisis in the Country of Spades. He couldnât reach anyone in Spades because Rakepickâs regime had cut all communications and transport. During that period of time, the only way heâd be able to meet and interact with the Ace and Jack of the kingdom was during conferences.Â
Queen Veruca elected to only send her representatives Bill Weasley and Rowan Khanna to them. She was very devoted to her commitments and responsibilities to the citizens of Spades. They depended on her to keep their efforts to take back and rebuild their country organized and morale high. As a result, Cato only heard her in mentions, but he held a lot of respect for her and her ways of handling the crisis.Â
Clubs and Spades were in an alliance during the war, in which Cato would lead a surprise attack against Rakepickâs army. He got along well with both Bill and Rowan. With the Ace of Spades, heâd go over strategy, tactics and the innards of the enemy. He and Rowan would discuss the impacts of Rakepickâs actions on Spades and the steps needed to rebuild. While the commander of the Clubsâ military, Cato also had a duty in overseeing law enforcement there. These two circumstances were among the reasons that contributed to him taking the diplomatic and political implications of the matter seriously.Â
Outside of their duties, Cato, Bill and Rowan also exchanged details about their lives in their respective kingdoms and their hopes for the future. They continued to maintain contact after the war. With the situations in the kingdoms stabilizing, they would have the time to meet up more often.
Cato also had strong relations with Barnaby Lee and Chiara Lobasca, the Ace and Jack of Hearts, respectively. The two Aces were similar in their styles of leadership. When not at conferences, they at many times would look to each other for inspiration and advice, both in writing and over the phone. Cato also revered the times heâd get a letter or a call from Chiara. She concerned for his well-being and how the situation with Rakepickâs regime was treating him. The Jack also appreciated his ways of balancing his loyalty and accountability to his people with the interests of the other kingdoms.
King Diego of Hearts was impressed when he first heard that young Cato had become Ace of Clubs. He was excited and anticipated his future progress holding the position. The King was thrilled when he was able to meet up with Cato after his appointment to Ace of Clubs. They enjoyed each otherâs company, and his attitude helped Catoâs confidence in his new duties. Diego would catch onto his ability to keep calm and reassure his people in spite of the uncertain and unpredictable nature of the Spades crisis.Â
He noted that the Ace of Clubs had the values of Hearts, using his intelligence and knowledge for the benefit of the citizens. While he was sure that Cato would also be just as good in the Kingdom of Hearts, Diego understood that his true place lied with King Orion in Cubs. Nevertheless, Cato was always welcome in Diegoâs court, even receiving invitations from him, Chiara and Barnaby from time to time.Â

Randomized Fuckery
A AI generated Fanfic
All writing is completed by an AI program
All characters and scenarios are randomized
Miraculous Ladybug
Characters selected: Chloe Bourgeois & Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Just seeing the characters selected I knew this was going to be funky
Scenario: Marinette gets akumatized and Chloe is the only one who can save her
Yâall I have to watch the movie Iâve been slacking đ
Embers of Redemption
In the heart of Paris, Marinette Dupain-Cheng had always been the epitome of kindness and selflessness. However, beneath her bright smile, she struggled with the weight of others' expectations. The constant pressure to be the perfect Ladybug and the perfect student had become a burden she could no longer bear. One fateful day, an Akuma found its way to her, feeding off her emotions, turning her pain and frustration into a raging storm of darkness.
As Chat Noir tried to save her, his attempts were futile. The Akuma's hold on Marinette grew stronger with every failed attempt. Even Ladybug, her own alter ego, couldn't break through the darkness consuming her. Feeling utterly alone, Marinette withdrew further into despair, leaving only one person to stand by her side - Chloe Bourgeois.
Surprisingly, Chloe was the only one who saw through Marinette's facade. She recognized the torment within her, remembering her own struggles to be accepted and respected. Determined to help her former adversary, Chloe set aside their differences and approached Marinette with empathy and compassion.
As they spent time together, Chloe discovered the real Marinette, the vulnerable girl hidden behind her confident exterior. She learned about Marinette's dreams, her fears, and the enormous weight she carried on her shoulders. Chloe saw herself mirrored in her enemy, realizing they both shared the burden of society's expectations.
With each interaction, the animosity between them slowly transformed into understanding and a strange bond began to form. Chloe guided Marinette through her emotional turmoil, urging her to embrace her true self, flaws and all. She encouraged Marinette to acknowledge her feelings and confront her insecurities head-on.
As Marinette's emotions shifted, the Akuma's grasp weakened, and rays of hope broke through the darkness. Chloe's genuine care and friendship acted as a catalyst for Marinette's transformation. But it was not an easy journey; they faced trials and setbacks, learning to trust and rely on each other.
Throughout their struggles, Cat Noir continued to fight for Ladybug's release from the Akuma's control, unaware of Chloe's involvement in Marinette's salvation. The city grew desperate as the Akuma's destruction escalated, but Chloe remained steadfast, offering an unwavering support that no one expected.
Finally, the moment of truth arrived. With Chloe by her side, Marinette confronted her inner demons and the Akuma head-on. The battle was fierce, but Marinette's determination and newfound belief in herself began to break the Akuma's hold. As the last traces of darkness dissipated, Ladybug returned, her heart filled with gratitude for Chloe's compassion and acceptance.
In the aftermath, Paris stood united as they celebrated the defeat of the Akuma and the newfound alliance between Ladybug and Chloe. The once-antagonistic relationship between the two girls had blossomed into something beautiful - a bond of trust, understanding, and love.
As Ladybug and Chat Noir fought side by side once more, they acknowledged the role Chloe played in saving their beloved city. Her transformation from an adversary to an ally was a testament to the power of empathy and the strength that lies within every individual, even in the darkest of times.
And so, the story of Embers of Redemption spread across Paris, inspiring hope and reminding everyone that redemption and understanding can arise from the unlikeliest of connections. For Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Chloe Bourgeois, their journey from enemies to lovers was a tale of courage, compassion, and the enduring power of love and friendship.

unprompted ask / always accepting
anonymous said: Can you point out some of the ways your characters have developed or changed over time? Perspectives, behaviours etc? Especially because of interactions with another character?
some have definitely changed more than others through roleplay, & the use of a single verse has helped A LOT, too. it has allowed me to develop them throughout a single timeline & take notice of all these changes in their personalities, perspectives, etc.
han, for example, became more goal oriented. back when i first started writing him, my interactions were similar in nature, with me playing the role of him working as a host at stardust, which allowed more romantic, or sexual interactions. at some point, it became tiring to do the same thing, & since i started to focus on different kinds of interactions ( possible friendships, alliances, potential enemies... ), his character feels more complete to me. keeping most interactions within a single verse has also emphasized this idea i had of him being a charmer, someone that plenty of people could look up to, or admire. it makes his portrayal more impactful imo, just having different characters know of him & hold similar views.
another character who has gone through great changes, has been rei. she was supposed to be my timid, misguided girl. quiet, serious... & SHE IS, but in a different way. my interactions with @badheartâ ( shoutout for influencing all my muses ) definitely helped me in developing her by giving her friendships, a relationship which itâs something sheâs new at, & plenty of potential through things that had been discussed ooc. there are more nuisances to her character now, with a grey morality & some conflict within herself, as she learns to let others near. sheâs more affectionate, assertive at times ( itâs a work in progress ), bolder ( also a work in progress ), & overall more welcoming than what her character was supposed to be. she was just an oc i created because i wanted to have a translator ; thinking of her as someone work-oriented, with not much of a social life, but now i have all these great & sometimes wholesome interactions with her. she allows me to explore a different kind of character, with her being a regular civilian dealing with day-to-day issues that are more relatable (misogyny, harassment, etc. ).
this one comes to mind due to my recent use of his character, & thatâs mako. he was supposed to be more antagonistic, starting as a simple oc that could potentially start something with someone by putting them down, bully them & such. egotistic, selfish. someone youâd want to punch in the face, pretty much. in the end, he turned to be far more charming than iâd expected. his character isnât just this antagonist anymore, & by giving him more of a background, it has allowed me to show different sides of him. sure, heâs still full of himself & such, but mako is different depending on who you ask. someone like sunny would tell you heâs a prick ( & even their relationship changed over time, becoming less hostile & more like banter between siblings that donât get along ), while someone like vivian ( @unladielike ) or futaba ( @badheartâ ) would tell you he can be quite sweet.Â
even ji-eun has gone through some changes, with him being more than this disturbed weird guy, which feels like such a popular trope on tumblr. his relationship with fang (@badheart) made me realize that he can be immature as well, & have moments in which he could be oddly considerate or â cute â. meanwhile, he still carries that dangerous aura, which is something that bora (@badheart) has picked on. i had no major plans for him, even thinking that he could die at some point, but now iâm eager to push his character further & explore him a bit more with the relationships that i have planned for him; with his half-brother ( pretend im tagging snow again ) having some relevance.
i feel i could go on, but it would take so long. most of my interactions carried within my main verse has had some impact on my muses, but as anyone could be able to see just by looking at my blog, iâm lucky enough to have a partner that indulges me & helps them grow, just as i hope to provide the same đ

Mortal Kombat: New Era
âMortal Kombat 11â is the eleventh main installment in the iconic Mortal Kombat series, developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Released on April 23, 2019, the game is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, and Stadia, with the Switch version in Europe launching on May 10, 2019.
Reception and Expansions
The game launched to generally favorable reviews, with praise directed at its gameplay, story, and graphics, as well as improvements in netcode. However, it faced criticism for its microtransactions and grinding mechanics. The game was further enriched by its expansion, Aftermath, released on May 26, 2020, which added a new story mode, three characters, new stages, and brought back Stage Fatalities and Friendships. An enhanced edition, Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate, was released on November 17, 2020, featuring all downloadable content up to that point for newer consoles. A sequel and series reboot, Mortal Kombat 1, launched on September 19, 2023.
Gameplay Innovations
Mortal Kombat 11 continues the series' 2.5D fighting tradition and introduces new gameplay mechanics. Players can utilize Fatal Blows and Krushing Blows, which are powerful moves triggered under specific conditions. Fatal Blows, available only when health drops below 30%, deliver high damage and can be performed once per match. Krushing Blows, on the other hand, are devastating hits with dramatic visuals and substantial damage. The game also features a Flawless Block mechanic, rewarding precise blocking timing with a chance for a counterattack. The return of the Mercy move allows players to revive their opponent after a victory, adding a twist to the traditional finishing moves.
The Kustom Variation feature offers extensive character customization, letting players modify characters' appearance and move lists. This system, akin to the Gear system in Injustice 2, provides deeper personalization without affecting a characterâs abilities. Cross-play was introduced for online modes, though it remains in beta and does not include Nintendo Switch, PC, or Stadia.
