"what are we, in grade school?" you deadpanned. you saw his heart plummet, then wanted to take back your words. he raised one of his hands ever so slightly so he could pull you closer, so close his lips were on yours and you were cut off mid-sentence. you'd been waiting for this since you'd met him, you realized. since you'd first seen that curly mop of hair at dinner with liam and hannah. since the first time he'd laughed and you realized you'd never heard a prettier sound.

and the cameras caught all that, words and kiss and pictures and all, but it was different. this was something you wanted to remember.

ARE THESE NOT JUST J WORD IN A BLACK WIG AND CONTACTS (the last one looks like a blend of Jade's sus face + Idia's sus face) 😭 His face looks so similar… and they're both "attendant" characters that act polite but are more manipulative than they appear at first glance... (although Alfons has Floyd's hedonism rather that Jade's restraint!)

More of my first impressions of the characters of IkeVil below the cut!! Again, there's nothing explicit, I just wanted to keep this post not too bulky.

And not just him (Alfons) either, ashldbiasydefpaei there's a Trey-lookalike and a Silver pre-hair color change in the same game! Roger has a rifle and is cursed by Snow White's huntsman, so I joke that he's Rook and Trey's test tube baby... and Elbert has Vil's keen eye and desire for what is beautiful!

There are also characters that don't look like an TWST ones, but definitely have personalities that remind me of a few! For example, Liam's laid-back affability is Che'nya and Chenya Cater-esque, Jude speaks in a gruff but aristocratic manner like Leona but is a tough businessman like Azul, and Ellis seems like a mix of Malleus's obsession with happy endings + Idia's gloomy demeanor…? No clue if he actually is gloomy or not, he just gives me gloomy vibes.

Victor is Crowley-adjacent! Like they're both overseeing this group of powerful men with magic so you'd think they're serious types--but they aren't. They're silly and use their own skills to do frivolous things like doing magic tricks or making cake fancier. They also both seem to be hiding a secret...

Harrison doesn't remind me of anyone in particular, though I do see little bits of our typical "lying" characters in him. He has the chill of a Che'nya but also Floyd's flippancy and lies as easily as like... I don't know, Cater?? Not sure on this one.

In fact, he's got a strong sense of justice and often encourages others to be honest and to act freely, even if it means disregarding the rules. Every time William opens his mouth... I - like everyone - have been trying to begin to process Liam’s death. And I’ve thought about what Liam had meant to me, and how I feel about all of this, and I’m hit with the realization of how different of a place I was in compared to a lot of other fans who are sharing their experiences (and that’s no disrespect to them god fucking help me this isn’t a competition)

A lot of people are discussing being middle school age when One Direction was around. I was a teacher at that point. One of my first brushes with One Direction was when my 5th graders (11 yos) came in after the scholastic book fair and they were giggling about the boys. My students were so adorable in their giddiness and I happily listened to them rave about their favorites, Zayn’s dreamy eyes, Liam’s curls, Niall’s terrible dye job, and fill me in on the lore at the time.

The average fan sharing their love for Liam and the band had been my students 😭 happy and in love with this band and the boys and how light and good they are. And for a lot of them the rollercoaster of the last few months has been hard to comprehend. A beloved childhood icon becomes a mainstream (valid) villain becomes dead so quickly. That’s not the way the story is supposed to go. That’s a tragedy.

For me though, Liam was not my childhood icon. I fell in love with the band in my late 20s. I began following them after years waist deep in celebrity culture and fandom spaces. I joined this fandom knowing it was not all fun and games. It was painfully apparent to me and the portion of fandom I engaged with that things were not okay.

So for me this hasn’t been grappling with someone who had been on a pedestal. A “god” as I think I saw someone call it? No. This was fully about watching helplessly as this disgusting industry has torn a poor boy to shreds where he was exploited all while he struggled and how no one could do anything about it.

I guess the simplest way to explain the difference is most people are living the end of a surprise tragedy. I am living the end of a horror film I wasn’t even positive I was watching.

As much as I get that the other Gallaghers have their own shit going on and the writers wanted to stay true to them being chaotic or whatever this whole scene and the following one still annoys me. Like Ians just got out of prison and they're all absent and disinterested...when Ian sits down in the house and realise he's alone (apart from a bunch of Mexican strangers) I get so sad (and mad). But I guess that's Ian all over, the forgotten middle child who they mostly ignored whenever he dissapeared or got sick. And then I think about if Ian was coming out of prison to a free Mickey, how different his experience would have been. His welcome home party was left up to Liam to organise, the youngest in a house full of adults. No way Mickey would have left Ian to come home to a house like that, he would have been planning his return for days, weeks, months. Just like he planned that anniversary party 😭❤😍

I don't know how to take this seriously either because like...that's very much not away from prying eyes, how is this guy, who's a political figure training them while also maintaining his supposed loyal status to the kingdom?

ALSO, I have a damn map, Lewellen is WAY far from Aretia, so how on earth were they going there? I'd assumed maybe Lindell was living somewhere closer, but if we're saying it's Lewellen now...what the fuck, Rebecca?

🌟 The Imogen dagger delivery is exactly what we all hypothesised but in this instance it does feel very retconned. Like I'm fine with it but also an 'Imogen's unwell' line in the original novel wouldn't have gone astray, so personally I'm not sold this was planned all along but I'll roll with it. I feel like the info about how the wards work and how someone had to have taken them down from within the keep also supports this being a retcon/something forgotten about or not fleshed out yet from the original book. Again though, it's fine.

Liam grinned, tapping his desk as he considered. “Alright, alright. Let me finish this game, and maybe I’ll see what all the fuss is about. But no promises.”

He didn’t admit it, but he was curious. Someone who could charm his viewers this much, all while staying faceless and cozy, had to be something special. And judging by the way his chat wouldn’t shut up about it, maybe this “Outback” deserved the attention.

Jack was peacefully streaming his latest Stardew Valley playthrough — this time he was set on marrying every male character in the game, his warm, quiet voice filling the air as he commented on his latest in-game project. “Alright, so I think the pumpkin patch can go here, and we’ll line the path with some of these little pink flowers…”

The chat was a flurry of supportive messages, as usual, but suddenly the tone shifted.

"O.B!!!!!, KiwiKiller is talking about you on his stream!"

"Liam mentioned you like, five minutes ago!"

"He called you the 'faceless farmer' — so cute."

Jack froze mid-sentence, his mouse hovering over a patch of soil. “Wait, what?” he asked, his soft accent tinged with confusion. “KiwiKiller? That FPS guy?”

More messages flooded in:

Still, as he returned to his pumpkin patch, there was a small, curious smile on his face. The idea of someone like KiwiKiller noticing him — someone so loud and confident, the polar opposite of his quiet streams — felt strange, but also… kind of exciting.

Liam leaned back in his chair, satisfied after yet another victory. His stream was winding down, but his chat was buzzing with anticipation.

"RAID OUTBACK!"

"You promised, Liam!"

"Do it!"

"Faceless farmer, here we come!"

Liam laughed, shaking his head. “Alright, alright, fine. Let’s see if this OutbackSprout guy is still live.” He opened a new tab, scrolling through Twitch until he found the cozy stream everyone had been hyping up. The screen showed a beautifully organized Stardew Valley farm, with Jack’s soft voice narrating his plans for the day.

“Oh, fuck, this is adorable,” Liam said, grinning. “Look at this! The little pumpkins! The fence! This guy’s living his best farming life.”

His chat exploded with excitement:

"HE’S PERFECT, RIGHT??"

"RAID NOW!"

"He’s so different from you, you guys need to be friends!"

“Alright, let’s do it,” Liam said, clicking the raid button. “Let’s bring some chaos to his little farm.”

Jack was mid-sentence, explaining his plans to expand his barn, when his chat suddenly went wild.

"KIWIKILLER RAID!"

"THE KIWI IS HERE!"

"OMG HI LIAM!"

Jack blinked, his hand freezing on his mouse. “Wait… what? No way.” He glanced at the viewer count, which had skyrocketed in seconds. “Oh my gosh. Um, hi, everyone. Welcome.”

Liam’s viewers flooded the chat with messages, while Jack’s regulars tried to explain:

"KiwiKiller just raided you! He’s been talking about you all stream!"

"Be nice to him, Outback!"

Jack stammered, his voice tinged with nervous laughter. “This is… a lot. Thank you, uh, KiwiKiller? Liam? For the raid. I— Uhm, I hope you like Stardew Valley?”

Liam’s message popped up in the chat:

"We love it already. Your farm's cute, mate."

Jack’s cheeks flushed, even though no one could see him. “Oh, um, thanks. It’s… nothing fancy, just, you know, some pumpkins and stuff.”

Liam joined the chat banter, his tone uncharacteristically soft and encouraging:

"Don’t sell yourself short, mate. This is impressive. Chat’s right,, you’ve got some serious farming skills."

Jack’s nervous chuckle turned into a genuine laugh. “I think that’s the first time anyone’s called me impressive, but thank you. Seriously.”

The interaction was so wholesome that both chats couldn’t stop gushing:

"NEW BESTIES!"

"They’re so sweet omg."

"This crossover is everything."

After the stream ended, Jack checked his notifications and saw a new follower on Instagram: kkofficial. Hesitating for only a moment, he clicked follow back.

Not long after, he received a DM:

Liam:

"Thx for being such a good sport abt the raid. Your stream’s cute. Would love to play something chill w/ you sometime. Only if ur up for it."

Jack stared at the message, his heart racing. After a deep breath, he replied:

Jack:

"Thanks for the kind words and for the raid. I’d love to! :3 Maybe I can teach you how to plant pumpkins without yelling at them..."

The friendship — and maybe something more — had officially begun.

story time! i met the cr cast this past weekend at mcm london and they were the kindest people imaginable, but my interaction with laura and marisha was just. incomprehensibly sweet and the best thing to ever happen to me.

first up was laura. my friends izzy (@wvearp) and abby (@overnighttosunflowers) went before me in the queue and they got my art signed by her. when they did, she said “oh, best art” and they told her that they were here with the artist. she immediately was like “what?! where?!” and started looking around frantically. i was standing just to the side and i waved awkwardly and she was like “NO WAY! YOU!! i favourite this shit on twitter ALL THE TIME!” which i find hilarious because yeah, i freak out a little every time she does.

when it got to my turn, i said hello and asked her how she was doing. she did not answer my question and instead said “cole, are you kidding me? these are gorgeous” about the two prints i handed to her. (the one pictured and a different one i got signed.) she said she remembers seeing this after the episode aired and i was like “yeah, it airs at 3am here so i drew this in a frantic, sleep deprived stupor at 7am” and she said “you did it so fast, i remember! i sent it to marisha! people are SO QUICK with the fanart, you guys are insane.”

after she signed the print, she held onto it for a moment and just sat and admired it, before looking at me with the BIGGEST smile and saying “you are seriously the best. thank you.” and i don’t know how to handle sincerity so i handed her the dice i got for her. she was so excited about them and immediately rolled the d20 and got a 10 (edit: i misremembered, she got a 3 lol). i then asked if we could play rollies and she beat me. i got a 5 and laura got a 7. i said i’m sorry they’re not rolling well and she was like “it’s fine, they just need charging up!”

i also got a selfie too, but the guy helping her at the table took the photo for us instead of me trying to take it because i suck at taking selfies. she gave me a really tight side hug and when it was done, she thanked me again with the biggest smile.

i also didnt realize until afterwards but instead of writing a character quote, laura wrote “you are everything” on my autograph 😭

next was the group photo op. as we walked up i said hi again to laura and she immediately recognized me from before. she grabbed onto my shoulders and literally spun me around to marisha and was frantically saying “marisha marisha, this is the person that does the amazing imodna art!” but there was a lot going on and marisha was looking at me with the most bewildered expression, until she eventually understood what laura was saying but we had to rush to take the photo. laura held onto my arm and marisha leaned against me and i didn’t realize until afterwards but liam and tal also had their hands on my shoulders lol. it was A Lot. i told marisha i would probably be heading to her autograph queue next so i’d see her there and she was like “awesome, i cant wait!”

so after that, i met marisha. i was probably the most nervous to meet her because she’s just so cool and intimidating but in reality she is just so warm and has such a calming presence about her. she was like “cole, good to see you again!” and i handed her the same imodna print that i had laura sign. she said “ohh, aww this is amazing! this is what laura was talking about, i was so confused!”

then we talked a bit about the live show because her voice was hoarse and i asked her how she was feeling. she said it was just her voice that was gone, but we agreed that it was absolutely worth it because the live show was incredible. i also congratulated her on the how do you wanna do this, then gave her the dice i got for her and we played rollies too. we both got an 18 at first and when we rerolled, she beat me with another 18 to my 16. then she was like “oh these roll really well, i’m definitely gonna use these!”

we took our photo together and afterwards she said “thank you for your art and everything. seriously, you’re so talented” while rubbing my shoulder, and then i headed off to join ashley’s queue.

i’m probably gonna make a separate post about meeting ashley and sam. i just wanted to write this down mostly to immortalize on my blog. i expected them to be kind but i did NOT expect to feel so loved and appreciated. laura was about as excited as i was, and made me feel so special. (this is also a pretty small thing but i dont think i pass very well, so the fact that laura said ‘person’ and didn’t misgender me meant a hell of a lot too.)

i did bring extra prints to give to them as a gift but was overwhelmed and forgot lol

anyway, that’s it! for anyone wondering if the critical role cast are as kind in person as they seem online, they absolutely are and then some. i’ll never forget this past week.

It hurts knowing that Louis knows very well how it feels like to lose a younger sibling to addiction . Esp a younger sibling whom you tried a lot to help but couldn't. Hope Louis can be there for Liam's family and they can be there for Louis .

When Liam said to Louis , I'll love you the same a million miles away as I do right next to you , takes a whole different meaning now .

Hope Robin, fizzy and Jay are there for him on the other side .

I'm rating driver logos cause I'm bored. Just my opinions on the logos.

Max Verstappen - 9/10

I like it a lot I need him to eventually get a 5th WDC so the middle can stand for the Roman numeral 5. Very recognizable and not similar to other logos

Liam Lawson - 4/10

I see what he was going for but it just looks super similar to Lando's. The only difference is the font is more generic.

Lando Norris - 8/10?

It looks pretty similar to Lance's which docks it points, but is also recognizable and not ugly. I like the 4 inside/between the LN.

Oscar Piastri - 6/10

Just his initials, not very special in my opinion not horrible jus not interesting

Charles Leclerc - 7/10

It's just not very appealing to me. I like the sharp lines and utilizing it in both letters not just the L.

Lewis Hamilton - 8/10?

I don't get where it came from or why but it's definitely there. Better than most of the others logos

George Russell - 10/10

I love the incorporation of both his initials and driver number! It's really cool and what I wanted in these logos

Kimi Antonelli - 6/10

Just his name so it's a bit boring. Got an extra point for not being a generic font

I like the little arrow going across the A(at least I think that's what's occurring 😭) nice and not super in your face

Lowkey looks like it inspired two other designs. I like it, not revolutionary but not ugly or bad

I weirdly like the triangle made out of the P and G. Has definitely grown on me since I first saw it

I don't see the vision. I can only see a triangle in the second letter despite knowing it is supposed to be a D.

I like the vision just not the execution. I like the E and 3 being reflected. I just wish it wasn't as crowded. Makes it a bit harder to appreciate it and see it fully.

I love the bear, maybe my fav logo out of all of them. Leaning into BEARman was a good choice, I like it.

I don't understand the vision but I do like it. It's very cool to look at, and feels very stylized.
