"You really don't have to" I said. "I know I don't have to but I wanted to....come on. It won't bite. Take it" he said. "Fine....this colour is so cute tho" I replied and wore it.

A few weeks later again. This time he gave me a pendant. "This is literally my favourite colour!" I said. "Ik. That's why I bought this one for you" he replied. "Thank you so much....I loved it!" I said. I wore the pendant immediately. After few weeks.... again! This time he gave me a cute plushie. "Now who told you I love plushies?" I asked. "Come on...you told me that day" he replied.

"Maybe I forgot.... but really Megumi you shouldn't be giving me these many gifts" I said. "Come on.... it's Gojo sensei's money....he doesn't mind then why do you?" He asked. "I wish I was that Rich" I joked. "You don't have to wish... you can use my money" he said. "No no it's okay I was joking.... I'll tell you if it's that much needed" I replied.

Then one day a wall clock. I assumed he was just being polite, maybe trying to make up for how distant and brooding he always seemed. After all, he was my classmate, and though not particularly too much close, you shared enough moments together for these gestures to seem... harmless.

It all was fine.... until that one night. I was in my room listening to music on my speaker. While I was dancing the plushie accidentally fell under my bed. "Oh ho" I said and bent down to pick it up. I grabbed the plushie and pulled it towards me. I accidentally tore it. "Oh no no" I gasped.

But something else took my attention. What is that peeking from the cottons inside the plushie? I tried to pull it out but it wasn't coming out. I took some of the cottons out. Then I Saw it...... it's a camera?! My eyes widened....heart started beating wildly. The camera was attached to the eye of the plushie. Why is a camera inside. Why would Megumi do it...no no no..... maybe he also doesn't know it has a camera inside?

Should I check the other items he gave me? I looked at the wall clock. Slowly put it down. I grabbed a screwdriver and opened the clock from the back. Fear chocked me. It also has a camera inside the middle! I couldn't believe my eyes! I took off the locket. Another camera hidden inside the locket??? the lens was impossibly small, discreet, and positioned to capture everything. I tear off the breslet. It wasn't a camera this time..... what is this....wait...a GPS?!?!?! My hands trembled as I pried the device open, heart pounding against my ribs. Every gift. Every single one. The plushie, the bracelet, even the keychain he had given me months ago. All bugged.

Megumi had been watching me. Me breath hitched as realization settled in. The constant feeling of being watched, the way he always seemed to know things he shouldn’t—what you wore to sleep, when you were home alone, your little habits that no one else noticed. Panic surged through you. I have been changing my clothes in this room all the time!!

I decided to go tell my friends first. I knocked on Yuji's room door. No answer. "Oh shoot.... I forgot Yuji and Nobara are on a mission with Nanami-san" I groaned. "What should I do now?!" I tried to think. "Should I call Gojo sensei?"I asked myself. I went out of our hostel. "But what if Megumi is with Gojo sensei right now?....oh god what should I do?????" I to think something.

"what are you doing here?" A voice whispered right into my ear. I turned around quickly only to see Megumi standing there??? What else can be worse? I back off slightly. He's still standing there. Both of his hands into the pocket of the blue hoodie he's wearing. "O-ohh.... Megumi! You here?" I tried to play it off. Like I don't know anything.

"yeah? like.....I also do live in this hostel" he replied. "Y-yeah....ik that....I thought you were with Gojo sensei" I replied with the chuckle. I tried my best to act normal. "So you were going for him?" He asked. My eyes widened slightly. "H-huh?" I shuttered. He walked closer. "You were going for Gojo sensei." He said. This time a statement. "No....why would I try to meet him in the middle of the night? Hahaha.... Megumi, you're funny!" I fake laughed.

"You weren't supposed to find out this way." He said cutting off my laughter. His voice was too calm. I swallowed hard. I looked at him with wide eyes. He was standing so close to me. I felt like I forgot how to speak. "I d-don't know what you are talking about." I managed to reply. "Do you think I watched everything all this time and didn't just watch you taking out those cameras?" He asked.

My whole body froze there. "Megumi it's getting late I think we should to our rooms and Sleep" I said with fake yawning. I was about to pass him...before I could react, his grip tight around my wrist as he yanked me close with his one hand. His breath was warm against your ear as he murmured, "let's go to MY room....we have something to discuss".

A shiver crawled down my spine. His strength was impossible to fight against. I tried to lose my hand from his grip. Megumi only tightened his hold. It was hurting at this point. "I still have all the footage" he whispered. I felt like all the oxygen was running out. A smirk appeared on his lips. "Don't you wanna know what I was doing while watching you taking off all your clothes? Where was my hand at that time?" He said with a smirk.

As we were inside his room.... The door clicked shut behind me. This was the first time I'm visiting his room. He doesn't let anyone see his droom room. It's his bedroom. A monitor on the desk it is showing my room. But right now that wasn't the thing which was scaring me..... it's the wall. There's some of my photos sticking on the wall. Half of them are me wearing just bra and panties and in the other most of them I was fully naked.

"scared from just watching this?" I heard him. I don't wanna turn around towards him. “I was going to wait,” he murmured, his tone almost disappointed. “Wait until you were ready to love me the way I love you. But now… I don’t have a choice, do I?” My blood ran cold. "Megumi—" before I could finish he cut off my sentence. His lips brushed my ear, his voice a possessive whisper. "You’re mine, Y/N. You always have been."

"take off your shirt" he whispered. "W-what?" I said. "Take. Off. Your. Shirt." He repeated. "Megumi, why are you -" I tried to speak but he cut it off. "Do you want me to show everyone those clips?.... Imagine everyone will watch your naked body.... Which is only mine to please" he said with a smug smile. "Megumi please" I said turning my head to the side to look at him.

"okay then I'll post all those pics you can see on my wall" he said and took out his phone from his pocket. I grabbed his hand. "No wait Stop" I begged. "I'll do it" I said. "That's more like it" he replied with a smirk. I slowly unbuttoned my shirt and took it off revealing my bra underneath. My hands were shaking. he looked at my clivage then again at my eyes. He leaned towards me.

He's getting too close. Both of our faces are too close! He's staring at my lips. I slightly leaned back to keep distance but He leaned towards me more. While I was trying to keep distance I fell on my back on the bed. He didn't give a second and leaned over me on the bed. Caging me underneath him with his two arms. He leaned forward to kiss me. I closed my eyes shut. I don't want to see it.

He pressed his lips on mine. It was a soft kiss. I opened my eyes. "F-fuck" He whimpered. He grabbed my head and started kissing me wildly. He's acting like an animal. "Mmmm... S-stop... thank you! this drawing was actually one of those where i started out with one intention and ended up with something completely different. it was going to be a different topic and a different mood and a different quote (if it isn't obvious by now, silly little quotes i add to many of my drawings are as much a part of the art piece as the drawings themselves), but as i conceptualised the thing everything began to morph, so i just let it.

assorted thoughts on the matter:

whatever age we are, we are also the collective sum of all the ages we used to be. a child of every age you were is still within you, a continuous present rather than a past.

that is why, when we catch trauma hands at a specific age and react (perhaps maladaptively) in an attempt to cope, when we later come under similar stressors we revert to the same maladaptive coping mechanism we learned at that age. unlearning it takes self-awareness, therapy, and effort.

in my personal hc, i don't think curly had an easy childhood. could be worse, sure. but could be so much better too.

because of that, i think he feels out of place. i think he feels like an impostor, like he is waiting to be Found Out. like he is waiting for proof that he shouldn't be here. shoes too big to fill (hence the baggy jumpsuit)

So at least we got some clarification on the matter from Astruc on twitter and while that calms me down a bit that the ring breaking situation wasn't literally the worst case scenario (still not good though? She still took the risk), its still annoying how unnecessarily badly this was and still is being handled.

Back when Perfection aired I think it was this tweet we got for clarification

Sure, in hindsight you can easily say that this means the colour was a mistake or quickly retconned. But honestly, no, they did not help the matter whatsoever. Winny was explicitly addressing the rings as two separate ones when all he had to do was say it's the same ring.

No wonder people came out of this thinking that the reason why Tomoe only threatened Gabriel over endangering Kagami in Perfection was because she didn't had her amok ring in Riposte.

Which, btw, is now something that does NOT make sense. Unless the argument is that you need to explicitly KNOW that an amok is in the object to be able to release it and kill the Senti.

Which I sure hope is NOT the reason but I fear that this is exactly what Chat Blanc and Emotion imply. Two episodes where Adrien's amoks where destroyed or taken out of existence but he was fine without them.

If that is the case then there is NO justification for why it's not always plan A to give the amok to someone who doesn't know what it is to nuke the object to hell and spread the ashes over the ocean to prevent the amok from ever being abused.

And quickly another topic. Back to Kagami's ring.

I doubt that children aren't going to be confused by this or even come out of this understanding it wrong too.

Children aren't stupid. Not at all. They are able to see that Tomoe gave Gabriel hell for only ONE akumatzation of Kagami via her ring, and the one she didn't react to was the one where the ring looked different.

The situation isn't helped at all by the fact that there is no difference between Ladybug breaking the ring in Riposte and if she had done so in Perfection. Kagami had no additional Sentibeing in Perfection, there is no explanation for why that case was supposedly more dangerous than Riposte. If it's the same ring then Gabriel was just as stupid in Riposte as in Perfection.

If a child asked me what the difference was between the two cases, then I wouldn't know what and how to explain. At most you can go with the explanation that maybe Tomoe didn't KNOW that Kagami was akumatized in Riposte (I don't remember if she knows that, you get my point)

Not to mention that Werepapas is in no way clear on Marinette intention in that moment. All we, and therefore children, see is that she is scared of doing it but takes the risk anyway after which she is relieved that it apparently didn't entirely kill Adrien.

Children will take things like this at face value. All they'll see is that Marinette took the risk.

The worldbuilding is a work in progress (as it always is, but the first chunk of the comic itself is pretty self-contained so we've been slowly tinkering at the rest of the world and creatures as we go without affecting it much), so we mostly have loose rules and ideas for the bugs as a species. Or anything in between for that matter.

For all intended purposes, bug people are all the same species and can usually cross-breed within mechanical constraints, as well as mix with the elves we threw into the mix. Genetics? Don't know her. We operate on Sims logic here.

A full bug has roughly a human lifespan, with some variation depending on the type of bug it's closer to and some type-specific quirks. The one we've explorer the most, as it pertains to Ashton and the latest batch out of the oven, is the ability that some types might have to undergo metamorphosis, usually at the expense of lifespan. This is Ashton btw

Something like this isn't super common tho! So despite me drawing a bunch of butterfly or moth people they generally don't get to that point and stay looking more like funky lizards with many arms

Bugs can have many arms or legs or eyes, funky colours, exoskeletal bits, antennae, or look pretty close to your average human/elf with hidden bug features. Dahlia for instance is a vaguely spidery bug but can easily hide a bunch of her eyes and secretes venom thru hidden glandes so you could mistake her for an elf

Meanwhile it'd be very hard to mistake someone like this guy for anything other than a horned bug

Some bugs are small! Some are huge. Some are out there committing atrocities

Some dont look like bugs at all

They're generally not as physically strong as the average elf but more resilient in a cockroach kinda way. They can have a chaotic range of circulatory systems and internal organs that sometimes just make them really hard to kill and its also pretty hard to keep track of every variation of the species and their quirks.

That being said in a lot of places they're super common and coexist with elves just fine, mix up and it's also not super uncommon to have half breeds like our man Staeve (the ThUG edition). The closer you get to elf the longer you live and less "non human" traits you have. There's also a bunch of different types of regular ass elf and it all falls under the elf category unless we decide to name them something else down the line.

Then you've got a smaller category of super elves that have been isolated for so long they never blended with anything else, are more attuned to magic and in general have a sort of mythical status amongst everyone else. They also have the longest lifespan at around 250 ish years.

That's sort of the TL;DR for now! Ollie and I have started to put all the info we've got into a single repository and do want to start sharing it (probably as patreon posts for now) because comics are slow and the scope might not encompass that much of what we want to explore of this world. And the chaotic idea machine never stops

hey dog! sorry to bug you with a coding question, but i'm learning rpg maker mv for a fangame & i'm wondering how you did a couple things. if it's not too much trouble, could you quickly explain some of it? i've scrounged around as much as i can but i cant find what i need so i thought it'd be worth asking directly ^^;

how did you get the players name to show up in the message log? i know theres a plugin that adds the name windows for other characters & i've got that figured out, but i have no idea how to get the players name to show up in the history after selecting stuff

how'd you get the graphic for the route diverging choices to show & play During choices? so far ive figured out that looping the images recreates the visual but then the game doesn't progress, bc its just stuck in that loop...

how'd you disable ( + grey out) dialogue options after selecting them??

how'd you add the fullscreen option? i found a code that was supposed to add a fullscreen option to the optionscore settings but that one just breaks the plugin & i simply Don't know enough javascript to figure it out myself

i'm using all the same plugins that dialtown has so clearly these are possible without extra ones, i just don't know how to do it,, thanks for explaining your pronoun system a little while ago btw! i wasn't the one who asked but your post was super helpful when i was setting it up for myself :D

It's been close to 6 years since I started making DT, and I had to figure out a few solutions to specific issues that cropped up which I've likely forgotten now, but I'll answer what I can remember. I'm also gonna give you some advice and advise you not to use RPG Maker for projects like these.

I basically Scott Cawthon'd DT and forced the engine to yield to my demands because I wanted to use the one I knew best. A few of these solutions are over-complicated because the easier ones (which would've worked in other engines) had to be constructed differently. I'll also mention a few solutions to problems you might not have encountered (but inevitably will if you try to recreate DT.) With that out of the way...

1)

You'll want these settings for the backlog plugin. the \c[x] commands refer to standard name colours. Log special inputs set to true, followed up by this below:

With \n[1] being the name you want and the number after the first c being what colour you want.

I'll also save you a potential future issue: I'd actually recommend you find the backlog plugin I used in DT's files (located inside the www/js/plugins folder) and use the version I have instead of the official release if you're not already, because I made a small change to fix an error. Basically, it breaks slightly with the plugin that lets you bring up the menu during dialogue because text reloads when you leave the menu and re-enter the text box, causing text to be logged at least twice after you pause it. If you keep bringing up the menu, you'll get constant duplication. I simply added a line of code that tells the log not to have two duplicates in a row. Not a programmer, but it seems works.

2)I did it in a funny way to ensure the engine wouldn't screw it up. Basically, there's 3 steps to the event and it's kinda hard to explain (and would be annoying to reproduce without a lot of trial and error for a beginner.) It's easier if I show my code. The first thing I do is run a common event (you can also just paste this code in and run it from the event) that renders the frames used by the popup, so they're loaded into memory + ready to go.

As you can see, they're set to 0 opacity but now ready to be used. Obviously they have to be on a layer that isn't being used by anything else in the scene (and won't be during this part of the game.) I run this event ahead of time, usually 4 messages before the choice comes up or so, so even slower PCs should have time to get them up.

The 'if head' thing just switches between the files for phone/typegingi's heads. I render each frame on separate layers and toggle their opacity from one to the next on a single frame to avoid flickering (bc RPG maker's renderer is hot trash and I have to work around it. Case in point.)

Step 2 is a second command event that orders the frames to fade in.

One layer is the text (which doesn't move) and the other is the first frame of the little head animation. A switch is also turned on at the end, and this signals the animation to go, which is handled by an event on any map where a choice like this comes up.

The event page that handles the animation itself has 2 pages, one to handle the animation as it goes and the other to handle when it stops (note that you could use one page and simply use a conditional branch. I didn't.)

Set to parallel so it runs in the bg behind normal events. As you can see, every 17 frames, I command one image to fade out over a single frame and another to fade in. It loops perfectly, cycling from middle frame, to left, to middle, to right, back to middle. Finally, when you select any route diverging choice, it sets off a second switch, which activates the second event page and commands the game to dispose of the graphics and then turn itself off.

Basically, it's the same animation but with a twist. The text is faded out over 60 frames and then the same animation is played as before, except the values it fades back into go from 255, to 170 to 85. Each of those commands is also followed by a 17 second fade to the opacity of the next frame. So, frame one renders in one frame at 255. Then seventeen frame fadeout to 170... Next frame renders for 1 frame AT 170, then fades out gradually to 85. Then next frame renders at 85 during 1 frame, fades to 0. This is how i synced the turning animation to fade out convincingly.

At the very end, I turn both of the switches this event page uses off so both event pages don't continue on loop. I also have a check for the first event variable to check if the game should still think the animation is running, as a failsafe. I don't remember if this mattered.

3)It's a function in the YEP Extended Message Pack. You'll see the commands for hiding (temporarily removing) + disabling choices (greying them out) as you scroll through the help list, almost 2/3 down. The thing you have to remember though is that messages that are commanded to be hidden/disabled will STAY disabled unless you turn them back on. So, ANY time there's a possibility to make a choice with a disabled or hidden message, add this plugin command to EVERY selectable choice

ClearChoiceSettings

This will ensure the game doesn't break from having a choice permadisabled. If you use loops or labels to make the game return to a previous choice, make sure the looping point is BEFORE any logic that may disable/hide a choice so it doesn't autoenable everything if the game has to go back.

4)Make a new RPG Maker project, copy the js folder from www/data/js and open the new project alongside your other one. Then check my YEP Option core plugin and follow this path in the plugin editor

This code should work.

On a similar note, I'd also take a look at how my plugins are ordered, if your list is different. I had to meddle with the list to make sure some plugins functioned correctly. This engine is held together with duct-tape and spite, so do what this advice what you will.

Island Moominvalley AU thingy/sketches from class

Heyo, I finally remembered posting these sketches I made in class two months ago. I made these when I was feeling horrible, and I took to my sketchbook during class to deal with what was happening in my life. My grandma had just landed in the hospital during the first-semester exam period, and oh boy, you bet I was distraught. She is doing much better now, by the way. Don't worry.

I honestly love how easy it is to remember how to draw Siffrin without a reference. It helps me draw without having to think.

So, from the top, the chronological order I made the sketches.

As my first drawing, I was just sketching a little guy that wasn't supposed to be Siffrin yet. Halfway, it did become Siffrin, but I drew him with both eyes because I was going off on instinct. At the end of the sketch, I was really confused as to why Siff felt off until I started on the second drawing and realised they had an eyepatch! So, first sketch siff became pre-canon siff. His original hair colour is already well on its way of coming through. Compared to my recent comic, Siff, this is much closer to the Sadness Incident. (Maybe around the time the party meets Bonnie?)

Siffrin is squinting because he is trying to read something but the lack of depth makes it hard. They look a little angry but Siff is wholly unaware they are making that face. And since this is after the game events, they do not have their hat to hide their face behind.

I drew Snufkin right under simply because I remembered how similar Snufkin and Siffrin are in design, which is not a surprise since insertdisc5 said that in the later stages of designing Siff, there was a vast Snufkin trend going on tumblr. I didn't have any grayscale markers on me at the time so I created depth and greys by hatching. It's interesting how different the grayscale shades on Snufkin and Siffrin are since Siffrin is almost entirely in black and white, and Snufkin, when turned into black and white, is made out of grey shades.

On the right is an older Snufkin or an attempt at a design for an older Snufkin. Then, I remembered the ideas spooking in my head about an AU where Snufmin from Moomins were Siffrin's parents before the whole Island shebang happened. More about that later.

Different stages of life for Siffrin before the Island Incident. I always admire people who can design a character ageing and them looking different but still recognisable enough to be that character. So I took a crack at that, with the top being toddler Siff, the left kid Siff and the right teen Siff. Teen Siff took more influence from Loop. But that isn't really surprising if you have completely finished the game.

A family portrait with baby Siff and two very proud fathers. (I forgot to colour it in இ௰இ.) Snufkin is much shorter than Moomintroll, but I realised I had drawn the heights wrong afterwards. The top of Snufkin's head usually meets the height of Moomin's chin.

Btw I did not come up with the Snufmin as Siffrin's parents' idea. I saw an author on AO3 who came up with it first, and I was really inspired by it. I can't really find the fic anymore. I think about it almost daily. (I am writing a fic about it, but it's getting so long, help. Why must school be so harsh? I just want to work on that and NPLH)

I'm not that sure about my design for Moomintroll yet, but I do know I want him to have a fun curly moustache (you can see a sketch I didn't ink all the way at the top of the post, and I like it, but it can have more features of his Moomin form in there. I should have drawn regular Moomin next to him for reference, but I forgot.)

AU rambling part

My rough concept for Island Mooiminvalley is that Moominvalley is not necessarily the entire island. The original northern country is a string of islands with diverse cultures, and Moominvalley was a part of that. (The capital could almost be considered its separate thing for how advanced their technology was)

It follows the canon of Moomins pretty closely (except that they are human) until Moomintroll and Snufkin get together in adulthood and have Siffrin. Snufkin is still a traveller, which is an inherent part of where he is from on the other part of the island. In contrast, Moominvalley is a homebody (except for some residents like Moominpapa.)

So Snufkin travels all over and comes home during Spring to spend time in Moominvalley and with his family. Moomintroll stays at home half the time but also works as a carpenter around the place (and makes sure no parks are created in Snufkin's absence). He wears his father's passed-down pouldrons as inheritance, as wearing a piece of your parents is tradition when they retire. The ribbon tying his hair is from Moominmama. (Moominpapa would hold onto his top hat too much to give it to Moomin. The pouldrons are from his military service. Although if he really served in the military of the Island or if it was a trinket from his travels is unknown)

Siffrin grows up being inspired by Snufkin and wants to be like him when they grow up. Curious and excited about exploring the world. Moomintroll was against this at first (if you don't know Moomins/Moominvalley, it's because Moomintroll has abandonment issues and yearns a lot for Snufkin to return. Like a whole damn lot. Siffrin really takes after Moomintroll in that regard, XD (heh, not that funny,. More sad with what happens in game)

Eventually, he relents, and as a rite of passage, Siffrin is sent off by his parents and the entirety of the valley on their first voyage. (Something about letting your hair grow long when you stay somewhere long and cutting it when you wander again in Snufkin's culture, so Siffrin cuts their hair short and gives it to fathers to remember them by. So freshly wiped memory Siff has short hair)

In the middle of the ocean on their way to Vanguard, the tragedy of the Island struck, and they washed ashore, unable to remember their entire lives. Only a few belongings remained as the waves swallowed up most of them.

What happened to the Island? What happened to Moominvaley? To Siff's forgotten parents? I am keeping that for my fic ^_^

i don't think andreil ever say i love you to each other; i feel like the discourse about this is virtually endless ever since nora said it but honestly her explanation was so valid??? they're such a show not tell couple it just makes so much sense for them to show the "i love you" in their actions than ever saying the words out loud. esp bc neither of them have ever really heard those words and have them mean anything real or true or actually loving. personally i think their little percentages and the "i hate you"'s and kisses and keys mean more to them than an "i love you" ever could. i'm not a purist on this tho i do think i could visualise it happening maybe somewhere along the road i just think nora's explanation for this is very very in line with canon andreil.

i don't hate thea muldani; i've made a post abt this but basically my thoughts around her are literally just: she's a human being, and she's never gonna be perfect. i also find it very...interesting how the fandom likes to flame thea (an explicitly stated woman of colour) for being "problematic" and a "terrible person/character" when she doesn't act all that different from andrew, neil and kevin (white men) ??? idk it seems a little strange to me bc she seems pretty on par with them on whatever moral compass this batshit crazy fandom has decided to impose on these fictional and very much morally ambiguous characters. anyway go check out my post i go a lot deeper into thea's character and why she does a lot of things wrong but i don't rlly think she's deserving of the insane amounts of hate she gets in the fandom.

have already said this in detail but i don't think andrew's actually a misogynist; the wording doesn't feel right. i'd probably describe andrew's distrust of women (esp. those in motherly/mother roles) as a similar ingrained wariness that neil has for older men. this is something borne out of trauma and shitty experiences that takes time and trust to unlearn. nora says a lot of things the fandom disregards and for me, this is one of those things i'm a little iffy about. misogyny actually isn't reflected in andrew's actions at all, i'd say. does he respect women? no. but he doesn't respect anyone unless they've actually earned it. and among the people he does respect and care for there are women (renee, bee). he doesn't treat women any differently and obv doesn't think they're any weaker than men are (considering renee wipes the floor w him their first sparring sesh). andrew's an equal opportunity hater and i don't think he actually has any sexist or even misogynistic tendencies. i think what is there is just a slightly biased worldview of disliking/mistrusting mother figures, given his bad experiences w tilda and cass (they've left him w more long-term emotional damage that's probably rlly difficult and complicated for him to work through esp considering cass did love??? him and he did want her enough to be willing to suffer dr*ke to be close to her; there's more to it but for the sake of word count i won't go into it) but honestly it doesn't actually show that much??? if people wanna say he hates women, sure, but for one, he doesn't hate a lot of things he's just very indifferent to them and two, he holds a pretty similar apathetic distaste for most people and things, so it's not like a very big distinction. i also think the whole "no girls" thing w aaron was very much a personal thing, and his mistrust of katelyn probably came from aaron's past (apparently negative) experiences w other girlfriends and friendships in general. and if i remember correctly the deal wasn't even "no girls" it was just "family only" which is why aaron didn't make friends w the rest of the foxes either. i digress but i don't think saying "andrew isn't a misogynist" is robbing him of any nuance as a character.

i like nicky and honestly feel similarly towards him as i do about thea; he isn't perfect and never will be and i think while the way he acts towards neil and others (see: matt, kevin) is pretty untoward and inappropriate, i also do see where he's coming from, esp after aaron's explanation of it. that it's a defence mechanism coming from someone who's experienced a lot of prejudice and harm because of his sexuality. obv i think everyone can agree his assault on neil was fucked up but i think nora was right in saying that nicky was high and drunk and not rlly in his right mind at the time, and he does apologise and i'm pretty sure she also said he and neil work it out privately anyway. he's a messy character and definitely not perfect queer rep but again, he's pretty realistic, and i think he's honestly a rlly well-written and complex character.

Jikookers made it to be romantic while Fandom made it to a joke 'JK always copy Jimin' (ofcourse). I've seen you making multiple posts about Jikook concept pics being match is a proof of them being a couple when in reality Hybe don't even take permission of original artist before using their ideas for another. SPOILERS FOR DRDT AND THE CANON DANGANRONPA GAMES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Okay, so. I've seen quite a few people hating on the chapter 2 culprit choice due to their execution and it not fitting their ultimate talent. The reasons they include as far as i've seen are; - Min's execution was centred around her talent, so to have the chapter 2's execution not centre around their ultimate is inconsistent. - The canon Danganronpa game's executions are centred around the the culprits talent, so having the culprit's not revolve around their talent doesn't make sense. - The "sections" (can u tell im not trying to spoil bfore the cut.) of the execution felt random and didnt really make much sense. My opinion of these takes? "NO, THAT'S WRONG!" In other words - I wholeheartedly disagree. And this post is going to explain why - as well as why I believe the culprit's execution is wonderfully done. *btw this is not an attack towards anyone and is purely my opinion as is your own dont come for me. please.

To begin: let's tackle the points I mentioned above. (side note - ik the colour coding looks a little random but its fun okay.) - "Min's execution was centred around her talent, so to have the chapter 2's execution not centre around their ultimate is inconsistent." I can understand why you think that, but Min's execution is more than just being based off her talent. Min's character revolves around how the only reason she's seen as anything more than a normal person is due to her being the "Ultimate student" and extremely smart (which can be seen in her bonus episode dialogue.)

She's terrified of making any mistakes and her life revolves around being enough. She also has imposter syndrome due to her talent not being scouted out like usual.

This plays into her execution as well - It gives her questions that have no real answer, causing her to fail - in other words, make a mistake. She also has to spend her last moments alive doing a test and being a student - which we know she feels as if that's all she's worth for.

Basically - Her execution fits her character well, as well as her ultimate talent, because her talent is very important to her character. Let me copy and paste a line from the above paragraph -

"her talent is important to her character." Min's execution fit her talent because her talent was a big part of her - which cannot be said for Ace. Sure, there's some lore behind him not enjoying jockeying - but it's not as major to his character as his fears. As we know, Ace is scared of many things - But the things he is scared of all have some way of hurting/killing him. To boil it down - Ace is extremely scared of death.

That's very major to his character, obviously - as it's the reason he kills Arei in the first place. Ace's execution is based on his fear of death and false alarms because that is the best way to cause despair for him- to make the execution as interesting for the audience and as torturous for him as possible. To sum this up - Ace and Min's executions are consistent. Sure, Min's execution revolved around her talent - but that's only because to her, talent is extremely important to her character. Her imposter syndrome and insecurity around her talent makes it a very big part of her, so that's why her execution was a test - Because it fit her character. Ace's talent, similarly, revolves around his character. He is scared of death and that is what led him to murder. The only difference is that Ace's talent is not as relevant to him as Min's is to her, and therefore it isn't part of the execution.

moving on! - The canon Danganronpa game's executions are centred around the the culprits talent, so having the culprit's not revolve around their talent doesn't make sense. Okay, to put it bluntly, no. as for the actual explanation!! I can give you multiple examples of danganronpa characters who's executions revolve not around their talent, but their charater. I think the best example I can give is Celestia Ludenburg. (please excuse me if i mess up anything on the following section its been a hot minute since i've played thh)

To recap on her execution: Celestia is shown tied onto a pole. A fire starts, and she begins to get burned alive witch style. Suddenly, an ambulance crashes into her, killing her.

Now, if you've been paying attention to the canon Danganronpa games, you would know Celestia's talent is the Ultimate Gambler. Which - shock - has absolutely jack shit to do with her execution! Anyway. Celestia's execution is actually pretty smart if you think about it. Celestia's character revolves around her wanting to seem extravagant and royal. (her clothing style, the whole European castle dream, you get me?) She doesn't want to be seen as some "Basic Japanese girl".

When she is caught as a culprit, she eventually says that she'd be okay with dying as long as it was extravagant. And, at first, it is. She's being burned at the stake - like a witch, probably referring to her gothic (?) like style - which is certainly not a boring way to go. We see in her execution she's pretty chill with dying like that, as she is smiling. However, the ambulance then crashes into her. The genius in this is that car crashes are one of if not the most common cause of death. In other words, a basic way to die, and nothing special. That's the best way Monokuma could have caused Celestia to feel despair - Make her feel normal. Unlike everything I've just stated above, Celestia's talent is not too relevant to her arc. It's really most relevant in her FTE's, which are completely optional. Hey, doesn't that sound familiar? A characters execution is based of their character and not their talent due to their talent not being as major to their character? Yeah?????? YEAH??? - Kirumi Tojo's (and maybe korekiyo's??) execution also doesn't really fit their talents, but I wont go into detail on that.

Moving on!

Well...no, not really! If you look into more detail, there's actually a lot of cool stuff to notice. (all the below comes from this post! check it out, it's super cool)

Death by Fire is referencing his "Fiery" attitude/temper.

Death by Car Accident - Ace mentions this one directly in chp 1. episode 2.

Death by falling is referencing Min falling to her death in her execution.

Death by murder is kind of obvious. The attempt on Ace's life Nico made - as well as how the weapon is pointed at his neck, similar to how Nico garrotted Ace's neck.

Death by drowning - This one is my own interpretation - maybe alluding to how water was used in both the murders so far?

Volume 1: pale ass man. flings his students into Grimm-infested forests and does not give a FUCK. not actually listening to anyone half the time my autistic king. despite the limited animation, you look into this man's eyes and you can tell he's secretly a little shit (affectionate). 9/10

Volume 2: I was gonna put a screenshot of his face and talk about how much better the lighting is in this volume but I saw this on the wiki and this man has NO ASS. He has NO CAKE. the dilf caring mentor vibes this volume are off the charts yet i can't get over this shot. 4/10 the no ass really hurts him

Volume 3: Colourful lighting, soft gaze, blorbo burdened by the weight of his sins. Not so pale that it hurts to look at. His mischievous demeanour is gone in place of sad immortal old man vibes. A shame to see the silly go, but I love a man with flaws who tries his genuine best to do good. 8/10

Volume 5: This part of the OP was always so jarring to me. The silly has returned but they flattened him and it looks odd. Is he doing the :3 face? 2/10 for hiding it in profile.

lucy: no matter who you ship her with, this girl's first child is gonna be a carbon copy of her. if you've noticed all the heartfilia women are almost the same. i don't care what mashima created nashi as, she's gonna be a carbon copy of lucy for me. maybe her second child (if she can have a second one after her daughter) might have features from the father or her own father. lucy has dominant as fuck genes. her child is 100% getting her magic too. the heartfilia women (in my hcs) can only birth one child. due to the dominant nature of their magic, their child is gonna have celestial spirit magic and the rarity of means to perform celestial spirit magic causes them to birth only one child.

natsu: he has recessive as fuck genes. due to the first generation dominant nature of his dad's genes, he got his pink colouring, his child's gonna have a higher probability of looking like zeref with some of his features than looking like him. i hc that all the first gen dragon slayer magic users do not have an innate type of magic. like all the people in earthland, they can hold etharino in their body. but due to the era they come from, their bodies aren't evolved to store less amount of etharino, making it easier for them to learn dragon slayer magic. his child is 100% gonna be having the mother's magic. and they're gonna be part demon, causing their body to store higher amounts and different types of etharino, so they're gonna be insane strong no matter what type of magic they're gonna be having.

gray: his colouring is dominant, but his physique is recessive. his children are gonna like the men of his partner's side of family. his magic can be learnt by his children, but it'll most probably blend in with his partner's magic when it comes to their child. his type of magic depends on who is partner is, unlike lucy who's magic is 100% gonna transfer and natsu's who's magic is 100% not going to.

juvia: her colour palette is 100% recessive, unless her partner has hidden recessive genes, her colour palette isn't gonna show at all. her magic is dominant though. like lucy's magic, her magic also alters a gene in the body. (other magic types depend of the type of etharino they surround themself with at a younger age)

erza: girl has insane dominant genes. idc idc what you say. her body is as devolved as natsu's and other first gen dragon slayers. she was carried in her (dragon) mother's womb for 400 years, causing her to have an upper hand in the amount of magic present in her body. she has insane reserves and they're 90% gonna pass to her kids. her magic isn't gonna pass to her kids either. her magic needs insane amount of reserves, which her children aren't going to have. is she's gonna have children w ppl that aren't 1st gen dragon slayers, their magic is gonna be insane wonky in the first few years. her child is also gonna be a ¼ part dragon. i hc that irene blocked her dragon characteristics, which was lifted for her children. she'll probably carry her child for 15 months (longer time due to extreme intelligence evolved crossbreed mammal reptile incubation). she is gonna want to 100% have kids btw. i also hc that her first child is gonna look like her dad rather than her or her partner.

jellal: boy's genes are insane dominant. so is his magic. his children are 100% gonna get his magic. his physique too. his hair colour though... also his tattoo is linked with his magic, causing his children to have the entire tattoo.

gajeel: his magic isn't gonna be passed down. at all. his children are gonna be strong though. his altered genes due to usage of magic is gonna cause a difficult pregnancy for his partner. unlike natsu, he isn't a part demon, causing his child to have difficulty in absorbing magic from his mother. he's also going to be drawing high amounts of magic due to the etharino absorbtion of the older unevolved human. his child will get his physical featured though. his body is also kinda related to his wife's genes. his child will get his physique if his wife's genes are recessive, or blend with them if any other.

levy: her genes are average. her magic is a learned magic. anyone whose body can store higher than usual amounts of etharino can learn her magic, causing her kids to be able to learn her magic if they want to. her physique is regressive. her colour palette will blend in with her partner's in their children.

There's a small theory that I've had for a while but recently felt more validated after seeing what Hori said on the popularity poll livestream

The thing he said being this:

Which is interesting because we all know he infamously said back in 2018 that he planned on revealing Hisashi at some point in the story. Which as we know today never happens. So, it leaves us with the question, what happened?

Because in order for him to say this he must've had something in mind at the time for what he wanted to do with Hisashi. The first time we learn his name is in the BNHA Ultra Archive book that came out in 2016. Never officially translated into English btw so this is all we got.

Anyways this means he had something in mind for Hisashi for a while then, but then he changed his mind and kept him out of the story. He feels he put everyone and he wanted to put in the story and wouldn't change anything.

My theory is that he might've planned to make DFO a thing initially but decided it would be best if the story goes a different route and kept it out.

Because why else would you say you plan to reveal who is Hisashi is at some point only for your story to end with no sight of him? Not even a tiny mention. Let us not also forget how people pointed out that Inko's birthday 07/04 spells out nana shi in Japanese which is like Nana's name. It's also canon that All Might pointed out how her hair reminds him of Nana. So I wonder if he also planned on her being Nana's daughter and had AFO target her as a result. This was also something I found to be rumored among some Japanese fan forums. Even though the translations I got weren't great the little I could understand suggested it.

And even though I lost interest in DFO and stopped believing before the story ended this one panel has always stuck out to me.

Hori is insanely detailed oriented, like during Dabi's first appearance he's in front of a hair salon which foreshadowed that the hair colour he has now isn't his real one and was used as proof in Dabi is a Todoroki theory. So the fact that Hori chose to place the "my only family" bubble over a shot where Izuku is watching everything unfold stands out to me even now. Keep in mind this chapter released in 2018 which was the same year Hori said he planned to reveal Hisashi. Maybe could be me reaching, but still something to consider.

I'm not entirely sure of all of this actually and could be wrong. But it's an interesting theory as to what could've happened behind the scenes.

Another theory that I'm less sure of but can see it being possible is that the elements of the reveal he intended for DFO ended up being used for the reveal with Tomura.

Think about. It's actually crazy how similar the Tomura reveal in 419 was similar to what a lot of DFO fans were hoping for all these years.

AFO took on a whole new identity to get close to a civilian, he helped build the home Tomura would live in, played a part in Tomura's conception, he took away his original quirk, set Tomura up as a successor, and AFO had a big reveal moment that left Tomura devastated... like I remember several posts that theorized things like this about Izuku. The reason why AFO targeted Kotaro in the first place was because he was Nana's son and I remember that Inko being targeted for being Nana's daughter was a big part of the Inko Shimura theory.

I don't know for sure if this reveal was built off of his ideas for a DFO reveal he had initially planned. Really it depends on when he first created the idea of AFO being behind all the terrible things in Tomura's life and if he even had DFO in mind in the first place at some point.

But it's fascinating either way. Either DFO fans were right in how they interpreted some aspects of the story to suggest DFO were true and correctly guessed some aspects of the story that were recycled for a different reveal later on, or they were completely off the mark and by coincidence some of their theories for DFO ended up being eerily similar to how the 419 reveal ended up being.
