There was a mighty roar that shook the earth. B fell over a tree root that had broken out of the soil from the tremble, and now lay aching on the grass as C and D flew by in blurs, shouting in concern. Behind them, B could see the dragon that had tried to incinerate their entire party, terrifying and fiery and the reason for so much sorrow and desolation — and then the gleam of E’s blade as it pierced through the scales protecting its heart.

The dragon collapsed, and E was suddenly in front of B, helping them up. B stared in a daze at E as they rejoined their party.

“Did I just see you single-handedly slay a dragon?”

“What? Oh, yes,” E said, a blush spreading on their cheeks despite their merciless blood lust a moment ago. “Was it disturbing to watch? It’s the barbarian in me, I guess. Sorry.”

“I thought… I thought it was… kind of hot,” B mumbled, and then promptly fainted from injury and exhaustion.
