Thinking how Nacht would react towards someone (you) simping over him.

First he thought you were just being kind.

Would totally be caught off guard by your compliments but he would get used to it.

You weren't a bad person yourself despite being a member of Black Bulls you had a pretty good reputation, so he didn't see the reason to berate you like he did to others.

He is actually grateful when you offer help in his paper work or bring him food when he forgets to eat.

But if she could do one thing…I guess it would be either resurrecting Morgen, or possibly killing her parents before Lucifugus did.

Part 2

Charmy gets a Snorlax.

Snorlax is a normal type pokemon.

You've got a pokemon that isn't satisfied until it eats a heck ton of food paired with a wizard who loves feeding people.

Perfect match I'd say.

And after they've both eaten, Charmy can just flop on top of Snorlax and both can take a long nap.

There also both beings that are underestimated by those around them, which is a big mistake.

Grey gets a Sylveon.

Sylveon is a fairy type pokemon.

And one of the evee evolutions.

Sylveon is a really sweet and kind pokemon and for someone as shy as Grey, I think they'd be good friends.

Also Slyveon evolves from learning a fairy move and developing a strong friendship.

Showing the bond between them as Grey would have had Slyveon since before they evolved.

And having a more confident pokemon that she trusts to have her back would help grow her confidence.

Gauche gets a Drowzee.

They even look similiar...

Drowzee is a psychic type pokemon.

Like Gauche they both have bad reputations. Drowzee's coming from that they eat dreams, mostly the dreams of children.

This Drowzee isn't that bothered about what dreams he gets as long as they aren't bad ones.

Because they are nasty.

Several people have had to shoo him out of their rooms when they wake up and see him their.

Because that's creepy my dude.

But as Gauche gets closer to the others, as does Drowzee and a better system is made so he gets fed and everyone sleeps well.

Drowzee also remembers the dreams he's eaten and can show these memories.

Which could be seen as similiar to Gauche's mirror magic.

Secre gets a Phantump.

Phantump is a ghost and grass type pokemon.

Phantump's are said to be created from the soul of a child who dies in the woods.

Giving it a scary reputation, one that keeps people away.

When Phantump only wants to make friends.

Paired with Secre, a girl who was disowned by her noble family because of her magic seeming useless to them.

Now a woman who's seen as cursed and using forbidden magic.

Seems fitting.

Secre doesn't show it often but she's a caring person who's grown close to Asta and the other members of the black bulls.

I think she and Phantump would have a close bond, especially if they had met before.

Which I'd want them to have done.

I imagine after Secre disappeared, Phantump would become sort of a legend.

A wandering ghost looking in the woods for it's friends.

Their reunion would be sweet.

Nacht gets a Houndoom.

Houndoom is a dark and fire type pokemon.

And also a doggo.

Houndoom are known to be terrifying.

With people in ancient times hiding away when they hear the call of Houndoom's.

Very fitting pokemon for a guy who has made deals with devil's.

And given the nature of said devil's, having a loyal companion would be something Nacht would need.

Especially after his brothers death.

He wouldn't accept a pokemon that was anything less than strong, and Houndoom would take that as a challenge.

An intimidating pokemon for an intimadating wizard.

And finally, Yami gets a Krookodile.

Krookodile is a ground and dark type pokemon.

Who is known for its intimadation, but can also be really laid back.

Much like Yami.

I can imagine him seeing a Sandile and just pointing like, you.

And obviously being mocked for it.

Krookodile, being the evolved form of Sandile showing how strong of a bond they have with Yami.

Krookodile is known as being the "Bully of sands" because of how much the guy just dominates in that environment.

Krookodile is also wicked strong and can glide through the air.

... Glide through air... Despite being a crocodile.

Seems like someone's surpassing their limits 👀.

But would still be underestimated due to having quite a lot of type disadvantages.

Much like how Yami and his squad are seen as the weakest one.

Just a very fitting match up.

I imagine Sandile, the pokemon that evolves into Krookodile, is the one who dragged Yami to shore when he first appeared at the Clover Kingdom.

And they've been inseparable ever since.

Also in the anime Krookodile wears sunglasses that look hella cool and so would Yami's Krookodile.

Nozel Silva

General fluff headcanon: He’s not great with words, and though it’s apparent that he could shower you with gifts to show you that he loves you, he finds it shallow. As strange as it sounds, he doesn’t think that it’s enough. But he does want to show you that he loves you, and that’s why he asks about your day. He asks you how you’re feeling. Even though he might not be great at handling his own emotions, he wants to hear about your feelings. And he tries, he tries so hard to tell you that he loves you too. Perhaps not always with the right words, but the things he does say, come with so much emotion and affection that you can’t help but believe him.

The place where he kissed you most often: The back of your hand. It’s courteous and subtle enough to be carried out in most situations, so he can get away with it. And even in private there’s something so intimate about it to him, that he can’t help but take you by the hand, and kiss it whenever he can.

Sleeping headcanon: He’s a light sleeper, and doesn’t fall asleep easily. But he finds solace from knowing that you’re right beside him. The one time you got up to get a glass of water, and he woke up to an empty bed made him besides himself. After that he hasn’t shifted further than an inch away from you at night. He just doesn’t want anything bad to happen to you when he’s asleep. And he’ll cuddle you as much as he can.

General fluff headcanon: He’s not much of a sweet talker, but sometimes he says the most perfect thing to make you feel better. It’s not well versed, or eloquent, but it comes straight from the heart. And when it’s combined with that bear hug, where he just pulls you into his embrace. Those big, burly arms wrapped around you and just holding you. Nothing in the world can reach you. Not when you’re in his arms, saying all those.. dumb, helpful things that bring a smile to your lips. Because he loves you.

The place where he kisses you most often: Your lips. He loves to steal kisses from you, no matter where you are.

Sleeping headcanon: He falls asleep easily, and is a heavy sleeper. Most of the times at least, because… he has to be with the Bulls. But. What he doesn’t know is that he is a sleep cuddler. As long as you’re within arm’s reach, you will be pulled into a hug.

Nacht Faust

General fluff headcanon: Nacht has those moments where he falls into the idea of people in his life just putting up with him quite easily. Because ever since Morgen died, he hasn’t really had close relationships, and even his devils are with him out of a pact, so he doubts that anyone can care for him as who he is. But he is human, and wants affection, which makes him seek it out from you. And he does so in the form of doing acts of service; just those little things to make your life easier. He’s not good with words of affirmation, but if you want to make him blush, you will tell him that he’s handsome, loving, and a wonderful person. Telling him that he is kind, will make him argue against. Buuuut…. You can always kiss him to make him unable to protest.

The place where he kisses you most often: Your temple. He finds it a suitable place to press a quick kiss when no one is looking.

Sleeping headcanon: Nacht is a night owl, but finds it easier to fall asleep when you’re close to him. And even if he’s not tired by the time you go to sleep, he’ll find comfort from seeing you sleeping in your bed, safe and sound. He’s the big spoon, most of the time, because he wants to make sure that you’re close, and there is safety for him, in knowing that he’s holding onto you.

When you first announced your pregnancy, he blinked at you twice without any emotions. It took him awhile to register the fact that you're carrying his child.

It wasn't that he never really thought of it, but he was just not expecting it. So when it finally sunk in, he was really happy to finally have a family with the love if his life.

Nacht is absolutely calm on the outside but panicking on the inside most of the time. This man always have things under his control but this... he had zero control.

He reads so much pregnancy books, (even more than you) and also threatens ask his devils to read them too. Then he'll ask them what to do what a problem arises.

"What did the book say about pregnant woman having headaches?" he'll ask them.

A death stare is all it takes for the devils to run to the study room and go through pages of books to find out what to do.

He's a man of actions and he'll be doing extra random things out of the blue.

"Nacht my love, what are you doing?"

"I'm just putting baby safe corners on the corners of the coffee table, love~"

"Nacht. I'm only 5 months pregnant, isn't it too early for that?"

"Nacht, what are you doing lurking in the shadows every 5 minutes?"

"Just making sure you're really okay~"

Nacht already spoils you, but now he's spoiling you rotten to the point that even you think it's too much.

"Baby, I really do not need to have a personal nurse following me around all day... No, I do not need a personal assistant either."

"Baby, I really do not need a new handbag every month.."

Is much more tolerant around Yami and the bulls because he's fatherly character has finally kicked in. You're actually happiest for this change in him though.

He was more patient to Yami's constant joke and teasing, although after awhile, he'll still try to yeet him if the captain doesn't stop.

Was also less snarky to the rest of the team ever since he knew he was going to be a dad.

Brings or buys you little gift from time to time, just to show his appreciation for carrying his child. It's always simple but thoughtful, like your favourite flowers or little hair pins that he saw while he was out or a scarf because it would look pretty on you, etc.

He would totally take note of the baby's growth every single day. He'll be touching and stroking your belly every night.

"Hmm, babe, I think our baby's grown about an extra cm.."

Tells you random names he's thought for the child. Some of which you have no idea how to even spell them.

"Charistabelle. If it's a girl."

"Where in the world did you get that name from?"

He would just shrug and say: "Just a random thought."

Absolutely loves giving you a massage every night. He'll massage your back and your feet.

He'll frown a little when he sees that your feet are swollen, his heart pains to see you going through pain and difficulty.

As a twin, his mom used to complain to him about her pregnancy stories so he knew how difficult it was to be pregnant.

He wants the time to pass quickly not only because he wants to meet his child quickly, but also because he doesn't want you to be in discomfort for too long.

Whenever he sees you smiling and caressing your belly, he's mesmerised. He can't get enough of that image; seeing his lovely wife carry his baby.

He thinks you're so beautiful and he'll always wrap his arms around you and give you a kiss.

Fret not for any pregnancy cravings, that's what the little devils are for, to get any food you wanted at any time of the day.

Mood swings? Nacht just smiles and takes it all, but he's absolutely terrified on the inside. It's even scarier than the most fearful devil, in his opinion. Suddenly you're angry and then you're crying and then you're all okay again.

Nacht seldom prays but this is the rare time he does.

"God please just let her be in a good mood again asap."

The closer you are to your due date, the more Nacht is inseparable from you. He knew it was getting harder for you so he wanted to be there for you as much as possible.

He'll also whisper to your baby more and more often now that it's getting more surreal to him that he was going to be a father anytime soon.

"I hope you'll be as beautiful and strong like your mommy. We can't wait to see you."

Nacht is my second favorite Black Clover character and yes, I am currently: freaking out. also he has Dabi´s VA so: perfection.

You didn´t think that you would ever be able to feel peace again and go back to your normal life after the attack of the Diamond kingdom.

And yet here you were, in the calm after the storm.

It was weird. Everything was in chaos, the villages and overall buildings were even more destroyed than when the eye of the midnight sun attacked.

Everything was as per usual at the Black Bull´s base, nothing out of the ordinary except for Yami forcing Nacht to stay now.

You´ve known him for a long time now, being the first member of the squad, and you never could read him. He always intrigued you.

And yet he also always made you distance yourself from him.

Nacht was the type of guy who was too blunt for his own good. You appreciated honesty, but he just always made it hurt.

You knew full well that you weren´t an innocent little lamb, but who was?

What irked you most about him was how badly he thought and spoke about his own squad, to this day you asked yourself why he even joined in the first place, he could´ve just as easily denied Yami´s order.

Sure, Yami could be persistent, but that wouldn´t stop someone like Nacht.

There had to be more to the two of them but over the years you learned that you just didn´t want to know.

Every time you approached Nacht about it he just shut you off and reminded you of all your flaws again.

Like he always did. With everyone.

Except for Asta, like everyone, he took a liking to the little guy.

Though, you had to admit Nacht seemed more open and approachable after the war. And yet you didn´t.

Instead you watched him at first reluctantly, over time without any hesitation, becoming rather friendly, talking to the rest of the squad.

In all those years you have known him you always asked yourself whether you really did. You highly doubted it.

You just couldn´t figure him out. Did he just wear a mask? Were all of his infuriating smiles for show? Was it all a game to him? What were his goals?

And why…

No. You didn´t want to think about that.

What was the point anyway? Anyone got a crush at some point, the only difference was that crushes usually didn´t last this long.

Especially if said person didn´t pay you any mind unless they were insulting you.

Nacht mostly stayed to himself, making it known he didn´t want anything to do with the rest of the squad.

Though like anyone else who stayed with them for a long amount of time, he warmed up to everyone. Still, he had his moments and didn´t exactly change his opinion. Because in his world people couldn´t change, they just didn´t.

And that made you sad.

Because deep down you just wanted him to acknowledge you, to tell you that you weren´t as bad as he thought, that you were a good person.

But at one point being around him just hurt. You cared too much, thought too much about him, it kept you awake at night.

If only you went out of your room into the kitchen where he would stay because of the same problem.

Especially since that day…

You were surrounded. Everywhere you looked you saw black, greedy eyes. The devils were everywhere and all hope seemed lost. You couldn´t rely on Asta only anymore, he already went through enough. He shouldn´t fight your battles for you just because he had strong powers, he was just a little boy.

And yet there he was, fighting ferociously, once again defeating the devil that came to slay everyone that day all those centuries ago.

It was hard to keep at least somewhat of an overview, everything seemed in shambles and the screams and cries of everyone were deafening.

You really shouldn´t be focusing on Nacht right now, now was not the time. Not that there ever was an appropriate time for that anyway.

But of course you just couldn´t help yourself, your eyes wandered to him frequently even as you told them to stop.

Though in this instance it might have not been that bad. Your eyes went wide as you realized what he was about to do, everything around you faded away, you felt numb and your body moved on its own to prevent him from going through with his plan.

“Please die with me” were the last things that left his lips that shut your brain off and made you move automatically. They weren´t uttered to you, Nacht didn´t even look in your direction, it was none of your business.

Even still you couldn´t just stand by idly and watch him die, watch one of the only chances you had at winning die, watch the man you hated to love die.

The little devil on his shoulder looked scared as your gaze met him and honestly, you could understand it all too well.

You were scared too but now wasn´t a time for fear, you needed to stop him at all costs.

“That´s the stupidest thing you ever said!” you screamed out as you were still running towards him.

Finally his head turned to you, he still had that infuriating smile on his lips, though it was so sad this time.

“It´s the only way…” he replied.

“You don´t know that! You can´t know that! You can´t just throw you life away like that, it won´t change anything! In fact it will… we will lose. We will lose so much more than just the fight, don´t you understand that? You´re not more or less important than the rest of us and you´re our vice captain, so it´s my duty to stop you from sacrificing yourself!” you said, grabbing his shoulders and frantically panting, you looked at him aghast, shocked, eyes wide and searching for something...anything in his eyes that wasn´t dull.

“Then we´re all going to die, but it´s so typical of you to be so selfish” he told you, his tone as entitled as always.

“You´re selfish too, you know that?” you whispered, averting your eyes.

“You can´t just run away from your responsibilities. It isn´t right” you stood your ground, balling your fists in anger and frustration.

“It´s the only way, why do you even try to stop me?” he sighed, looking at you. He was feeling quite frustrated now too, what were you trying to achieve? If he didn´t make this sacrifice so many more people would die, didn´t you care about them? Wasn´t it your job to protect everyone? So why were you trying to desperately to save him out of all people?

“Because I care. A lot. We all do. And yes it´s selfish, you´re right about that. We´re all selfish losers and assholes but you know what? We do it best and we´re goddamn proud not to be as picture perfect as all the others. That´s what defines us. And you don´t have to agree with that, but I´m fucking stubborn so don´t think for even a second that I´ll let you go through with your stupid plan!” you looked at him with such emotion, such passion, it made his heart ache with a foreign familiarity.

Nacht never paid you any more mind than he did the others, just thinking all of you were useless. That was why he was so surprised that someone would voluntarily want to save him.

He treated you like shit, sure it was more out of a defense mechanism cause he couldn´t bear leaving people behind, having people worry about him, he already had enough guilt to carry.

But hearing your words was like a revelation to him.

Maybe he still had a role to play in life, maybe his story wasn´t over yet and just maybe could he live his life without having to fulfill anything, but solely for himself and the ones he cared about.

Maybe it was finally time to start caring more than he was ready to admit, to take a step into the unknown and discover it with…

You.

It had always been you, he realized as he saw your desperate face, your hands on his shoulders, all dirty from fighting and yet feeling warmer than any fire ever could.

“Yes, maybe living might not be that bad” he tilted his head, smiling at you.

You felt an intense amount of relief wash over you as you gave him an exhausted smile back.

That was the first time you ever smiled at him, Nacht would never forget that moment, the moment in which you broke down his walls without even knowing it.

He would have to thank you later for that, when he fully comprehended what that meant.

Asta and you were training together again outside while the others were inside going on about their daily ruckus. Some were on missions already but some, like Asta, who were wounded and exhausted still needed to rest properly.

Though it was no use. Asta would never rest like he should unless he was knocked out.

And you tried that the first week, you each took turns but eventually you just couldn´t keep up anymore and let him train like he wanted.

Nacht also kept training with him, though he himself was new to everything going on and needed time to properly accommodate to things.

You stretched a bit, sitting down to just enjoy the sun for a moment.

“I can´t wait to go on missions again! I´m as good as new, I´m ready, I promise!” Asta beamed and showed off a bit but you only sighed.

“It´s not my call, kid” you apologized.

Asta pouted and kept training.

“You got a mission” Yami announced as he joined you outside and Asta practically jumped up and down with excitement and energy.

“Just the usual, rebuilding a town and fighting some magic beasts that escaped” he explained and Nacht slowly appeared behind him.

Asta´s eyes were beaming right now, he was excited to learn even more about the devil´s powers although he got quite the hang of it and even made a new friend.

Nacht smiled and waved at you, you just looked away as always and stood up to go back inside.

Nothing had changed anyway.

Until Yami stopped you in your tracks.

“If you get going now you´re gonna return by nightfall” he said and you nodded.

Asta sighed in frustration.

“I wanna go on a mission too!” he cried out.

“Not happening” all three of you said at the same time, shutting him up for a bit.

Both you and Nacht didn´t say anything as you made your way to the town in question.

Nacht because he didn´t know how to approach you and you because you thought there was no point in it, he wouldn´t think of you any differently.

And so you started your mission, once again fighting alongside each other and even though the task was dull Nacht´s presence gave you an energy that was unmatched, you just couldn´t help but smile.

When you were done you went deeper into the town to help the people rebuild it.

“Do you wanna go on a date with me?” he said out of the blue, making you turn around in confusion.

“Why would I go on a date with a guy who hates my guts?” you asked, making him sigh sadly.

“I´m sorry if I left that impression on you. I really don´t hate you… it´s quite the opposite actually” he explained.

“Did you just… I swear I never heard you apologize in all those years I´ve known you” you chuckled, not quite processing the second half of his statement.

“I never saw the point in it. All my life I always watched from afar, I always wanted to save people but you know, I´m just operating in the shadows. I´m good at spying and gaining information, saving people. Not so much making friends with them. I never saw it as my role. After all I lived my life for the kingdom and its people and not for myself. Why would I care if anyone liked me? In fact it would be the worst thing that could happen… death was always part of the job description and I was always willing to take that risk if it meant you could live longer. But now… ever since that day, I just want to live with you” he confessed, leaving you at a loss for words, so you did the only logical thing to you in this moment: hug him tightly.

“Of course I´d like to go on a date with you, Nacht. And I will keep protecting you” you smiled.

-Nacht would immediately notice when his daughter was acting gloomy. She was usually very bubbly, so it was a major change in her demeanor.

-Nacht would sit her down and talk to her about it. He would make her talk about it all, and he would be patient enough to sit there for hours if need be.

-After she told him about the bullies and how they picked on her, Nacht would 100% take care of the bullies. He would give his daughter a treat in some sort of way to help her feel better, whether it was something like ice cream or a stuffed animal. 

-Nacht is 100% like the mafia dad that would put a dead horse head in someone’s bed to show them he means business. He’s not different in this situation. Someone hurt his little girl’s feelings, so they’re going to pay.

-He’ll take his devils and have a talk with the bullies and their parents. Just a friendly intimidating talk. Before he leaves he’ll make sure his daughter is doing okay, and leave a devil with them so they’re not alone and have someone to play with.

-If they don’t listen to him, then he’ll make sure that something is always following them in the shadows, and that they know something is always following them in the shadows. They won’t be able to escape his wrath.

-Nacht will bring his daughter flowers and their favorite food back after his meeting and check up on her. He would tell her he had a talk with her bullies, and that they wouldn’t bother her anymore. If they even looked at her wrong, he informed her, just to let him know and he would make it where they can’t see anymore.

Nacht Faust x Reader Daily Life

You and Nacht were dating, simple as that. His position as vice captain didn't matter to you same as how Nacht didn't care what job you had as long as you felt fulfilled doing it.

After a long time dating, Nacht asked if you wanted to move into a shared home.

You asked if he just wanted to get out of living with the Black Bulls. Nacht did admit that it was part of his reason for asking, but he genuinely did want even more time with you.

With a laugh, you agreed to move in. From there, you and Nacht slowly developed a shared routine.

Your day would begin with you and Nacht waking up in bed together.

Some mornings, you two were cuddled up close. Or at least you would be clinging to Nacht. Other days, you'd wake up nearly half off the bed while Nacht was perfectly centered on his half of the bed, unmoved like a corpse.

Both of you were late risers. Nacht because he often worked late into the night. You because your circadian rhythm was never functioning apparently.

Nacht was the one to lay out clothes for the both of you and toss your rumpled sleepwear in separate hampers.

"C'mon Nacht, I can do our laundries together," you said once only for him to hide his dirty clothes from you for two weeks. Guess you needed to date a little longer before you were allowed to wash his undergarments.

If either of you had troubles brushing out your hair, you helped each other.

You were in charge of prepping the morning coffee. You'd tried Nacht's roast once and swore it left you unable to taste anything but bitterness for two days.

If Nacht had a day off or simply stayed for more of the morning, you two made breakfast together.

"What're you putting in the eggs?" Walgner asked while perched on your shoulder one morning.

"They're called spices," you stated before elaborating. "They make food taste even better by giving the flavor more depth."

"So are they all spicy like the 'hot sauce' stuff that Master doesn't like?" the devil questioned.

"Not at all! Some have a kick of spice but others are earthy. And others have a sour flavor."

"What's that one there?" Walgner pointed to the bottle in your hand.

Before you could answer, Nacht plucked Walgner off your shoulder. "That's enough, little one. Let them cook in peace."

Walgner let out a shrill sound like a hiss mixed with a bird's warble. Which, while you didn't really understand devils, felt appropriate. Nacht began to scold Walgner more which made you clap a hand over your mouth. You, like most people, thought devils to be incarnations of evil. But there Nacht was, chiding the devil who was small enough to fit in his palm as though the creature were a mischievous child.

On days where the two of you had work, you and Nacht parted with a gentle "see you later" or "take care."

Goodbye kisses felt like too much, even after all the time you'd spent together and the kisses you'd already had. So you two settled with parting words.

While you were at work, you'd sometimes see the head of one of devils poke out from your shadow. They were checking up on you and you'd silently wave to them as to not get distracted at the workplace.

The Black Bulls knew of your existence. You'd even been invited to a party with them a few times before. But Nacht still didn't speak about you too much with them.

"I'd hate to flaunt my successful relationship in front of you folks," Nacht would taunt. That or he'd say "I can't share too much or else you'll try to steal them away from me."

It wasn't malicious by any means but the Bulls were a little annoyed that Nacht resisted every attempt they made to make him talk and bring out the sweet boyfriend side that you claimed Nacht had.

You also kept the relationship on the down low. After all, talking too much about Nacht could arouse unease with people who didn't understand the Black Bulls or devils.

Even so, your co-workers knew you had a sweetheart and complimented you on finding a good partner.

After the work day concluded, you and Nacht tended to meet either at a park or the marketplace near your home.

If you met at the park, you two would unwind with a stroll and discuss your days. You envied Nacht and all the adventures he went on. But you weren't the type to be a Knight so you were content to live vicariously through his retellings.

If the market was the meeting place, you two would shop for any necessities like groceries, cleaning supplies, or perhaps new home decor.

"We don't need to worry about your, uh, pets...?" You cringed and felt yourself heat up, unsure of how you came off with the term.

"Yes, let's go with that while we're in public," Nacht whispered back to you. "And what about them?"

"If we get carpet or curtains..." You were eyeing a curtain set with a charming vine pattern but weren't confident enough to buy it. "We don't need to worry about them chewing or scratching up anything, right?"

"Snrk! Ah ha..." Nacht threw his head back. "Ahahahahahaa!"

You reeled back and gazed wide-eyed at Nacht. Even months in the relationship, more than a year even, you'd yet to hear Nacht make a sound like that. Sure he laughed, but it had always been one of those controlled, gentlemanly chuckles. His smile, too, was brand new to you.

"N-Nacht?" Now you were burning up. But not in embarrassment. Rather, you were blushing from awe. Your normally handsome but icy boyfriend was looking radiant like a full, silver moon. "Are you-?"

"Ah ha!" Nacht suddenly doubled over and wiped the corner of his eyes. "Oh dear, no worries! It's fine!" He held your shoulder, beaming at you like a fairy tale prince. "It's... They're house trained." He exhaled heavily and blinked a few times before his face showed confusion. "What?"

Shaking your head, you looked away. "Nothing!"

You two would return and dinner would be prepped.

Cooking with Nacht was a pain sometimes because half the time, he forgot to let you know when he moved an ingredient or tool for him to make use of. And so you'd flail for a bit looking for a bottle of oil or the edge of the cutting board only for Nacht to pass it to you using his magic.

But you preferred working together over cooking alone or simply watching him cook. Doing it by yourself was overwhelming at times, even though cooking for two wasn't that bad. And watching Nacht cook was... He couldn't innovate in the kitchen at all and so watching him glance between a recipe card and the actual food gave you secondhand embarrassment.

Ever since you two moved in together, Nacht insisted on doing dishes on his own. Or rather, to leave the job to him and the devils. Apparently all their time together in Spade (and before) taught them at least how to do some chores together as a unit.

You peeked at them during the task once and it was the cutest thing you'd laid eyes on.

Nacht always had a mug of tea before bed, a bit of a ritual for himself. And while he sipped tea, you'd be soaking in the tub to ease your body in preparation for sleep.

Nacht did have to save you from drowning a couple of times. But that was because work had been especially tough those days so you were really out of it.

You two got into your pajamas and then settled down in bed together. Nacht typically brought a book or packet of paperwork with him, keeping himself occupied until the end.

Your favorite nights were when Nacht didn't have anything with him and you could reach your hand out to hold his. Although his skin was always cold to the touch, you felt comforted when your fingers intertwined with his at night.

Days where both of you had off from work didn't occur too often but when they did, you and Nacht took advantage of that time.

Usually, you two would use Nacht's Shadow Magic to whisk you off to another town to enjoy the sights, sounds, and flavors of a new place.

Nacht happily took advantage of his magic that way. You'd spent your whole life in one city and now he was letting you explore the kingdom.

"Maybe one day I can take you to another kingdom," Nacht suggested.

"Wouldn't that be a big strain on your magic though?" As much as you appreciated Nacht's effort, you didn't want him to do that much for you. "Besides... I'm starting to feel bad that I can't do anything as grand for you so..."

Nacht sighed before saying your name. You looked up at him with tears in your eyes.

"I'd really prefer it if you didn't do anything grand for me. Besides, my teleporting ability isn't something remarkable to me. It's just something else that I can do to make you happy, like cooking together or brushing your hair."

Nacht then leaned over and pressed a kiss to your cheek.

"Maybe what I can do with my magic feels like a blessing to you. And similarly, being with you is a miracle for me. So just continue to love me and continue letting me love you."

You and Nacht locked eyes. His gaze was gentle, enough to make the tears in your eyes finally fall, though with a feeling different from what made them initially form.

"I love you..." You whispered suddenly. You didn't know why but the words came to you and you had to speak them.

"I love you too..." Nacht’s voice was full of love.

Slowly, you two leaned in for a kiss. A shy, tender kiss that silently repeated the emotion you two had just spoken. It was a reconfirmation of what you both knew and wanted. To love and be loved. By each other.

Hadvard Marchosias - An upcoming Rating Game prodigy, and Rhea's sworn rival. Only has four Peerage members at the start of canon. Inherited his Abaddon mother's ability for portals.

Argent Oriax - The original heir of the Oriax Pillar. However an incident with the church that resulted in three of his original canidates for his Peerage dying, and having to resurrect fifteen dying children, made him resign his right to inherit. Is the older twin to Acier Oriax. He inherited his mother's Phenex talents.

Acier Oriax - Feyre's elder sister, and Argent's younger twin, was, is, a frail young woman. Gave up her right to inherit the title of Heiress of Oriax after a particularly bad bout of sickness destroyed her chances at gaining an engagement with the Bael family. In possession of six Peerage members at the start of canon. She inherited the Oriax gift of prophecy.

Relv Seere - Rhea Phenex's best friend and only ally in the act of chasing down Hilda Mammon. Inherited a strange mixture of his Belphegor mothers Crack and his father's Earth affinity. Has a single Peerage member by canon.

The younger half of this generation, (A.K.A. Rias and Sona's childhood 'playmates'), are as follows.

Feyre Oriax - Focal King of the AU, a very 'Go-With-The-Flow' type of personality, and a bit thickheaded on certain matters, he has a Fire Affinity when it comes to Magic, and inherited the Oriax gift of Prophecy. Has a fully outfitted Peerage by canon.

Yvette Kamiris - The elder sister of Venessa Kamiris and the acting heiress of the Kamiris family. Currently wishes to cut her father into microscopic pieces. Has refused to outfit her Peerage in understandable disgust with the practice due to her and Venessa's status as their fathers Bishop and Pawn, respectively.

Kasier Paimon - The younger brother of Fowler Paimon and the older brother of Reus Paimon. Trying rather desperately to get his shit together in the face of Urisha smashing his brothers skull against a brick wall. Very much terrified of the woman, and supremely grateful. Is currently sending gift baskets every other week because of this. Has a single Pawn by canon.

Tyr Beleth - Yvel's elder brother. A doting man, but noticeably out of touch with his younger siblings feelings on their father, who, while loving and caring towards him, was little more than dismissive and emotionally abusive to the rest of his children. Has four Peerage Members as of Canon.

Aurum Stolas - May or may not have relations with a hellborne mercenary company that he's currently trying to recruit into his peerage... Nonetheless, the young lord of the Stolas clan. His only notable Peerage member, his Queen, Estella Tobias, is said to scare the ever loving fuck out of Serafall Leviathan, which is saying something.

Zena Zepar - One of the numerous Zepar siblings, and the legal Heir, but not the favored, amongst Lord Esard's children. Currently wondering if she can get away with snapping and slaughtering her entire family. Is probably Nacht's only ally in his conquest for revenge. Has a fully outfitted Peerage purely for protections sake.

Esrid Shax - An ally of Feyre, Sona, and Rias. A sweet, if deeply disturbed even by Devil standards, young woman. Has one Peerage member, a Queen, by the time of canon.

Isa Uvall - Minor rating game player, has a fully outfitted Peerage by canon.

Justina Dantalion - One of Feyre's most staunch allies in Underworld politics, a very headstrong young woman, but has a playful and cunning side that typically comes into play with those she's close. Has a Knight and three pawns by canon. Is noted to have murdered her elder brother alongside her husband. The only part of this generation who jumped on her fianceè at the first available opportunity to get married. Was a Kamiris before marriage.

Kaye Dantalion - A very powerful empath, and a faithful ally of Feyre's in Underworld politics. Has a Queen, a Bishop, and two Rooks by the time of canon. Is noted to have murdered Rivea Kamiris alongside his before they married. Has only ever had eyes for his wife, but was a bit dense before realizing, that yes, she did return those feelings. Is one of the few males of his generation generally disinterested in anything to do with a Harem.

Adril Valac - Feyre, Acier, and Argent's cousin through their aunt Zilver. And the youngest amongst this batch of heirs. A somewhat strange girl who inherited the Oriax gift of prophecy, has a fully outfutted Peerage by the time of canon.

The youngest Pureblooded Devils in possession, or about to gain, their Peerages.

Sylvanus Sitri - Serafall and Sona's younger brother in this AU, he gains his Evil Piece set shortly before the Rating Game with Riser, and throws his lot in with Venessa Kamiris and Nacht Zepar and gains partial rights to oversee París alongside them as a show of trust from the European factions. Quietly watches the Miraculous Ladybug plot unfold alongside Ven and Nacht while quietly whispering 'What The Fuck' to himself all the while.

Venessa Kamiris - A very... Skittish young woman, was largely confined to the Kamiris Main Estate until both of her brothers, Johann and Hadrian, decided to fuck off to hell knows where with the latter of which trying to kill her by setting her bed on fucking fire the night he left. Is currently being courted by Nacht Zepar via very obscure ways. Which, uh, may or may not directly cater to her interests? Only has a Bishop by the time the trio takes over Paris.

Wylla Vapula - The eldest of this third of the generation.

Kell Gremory - Rias and Sirzechs younger half-brother, born of Zeoticus Gremory and Marita Esall a low-rank Devil. Gains an Evil Piece set after his fourteenth birthday when Zeoticus sees promise in his developing talents. He gains his first Pawn, Noir Schmidt, shortly before Issei and Asia become third-years. Notably bitter about the favoritism, (and is the person to deliver the ultimatum of the scheduling turmoil on Issei), but does genuinely come to love Rias as an older sister once she begins to mentor him.

Ferrum Oriax - Feyre, Acier, and Argent's younger half-brother, sired by a member of their fathers Peerage. He becomes relevant later. Like... Much later. He's kind of an infant at the start of canon. And also being kept on the downlow.

Quinn Decarabia - Who the fuck knows? The Decarabia heir/ess. Was mentioned once on a scrapped scene. Probably has a Lightning affinity.

Cordelia Murmur - Is actually the adopted human daughter of Lord and Lady Murmur, that, however, has not stopped her from bullshitting her way into the inner circle of a New Satan Faction. IS in way over her head, very much gunning for a spot in Lord Zeoticus's harem. You know. For political sanctuary. Honestly, the poor girl is probably going to out gambit herself at some point.

Nacht Zepar - One of the many Zepar siblings, currently trying to murder his father for killing his mother. Courting Venessa Kamiris.

Reus Paimon - Probably the most well-adjusted Devil of his entire generation.

The Black Bull's Hideout

It felt like time stood still as everyone just stared at the small pile of bodies that lied in the center of the room. It was like everyone and everything was frozen. No one moved, no one breathed, and for a moment Yami swore he didn’t see anyone blink. Until finally he heard Charlotte speak softly behind him.

“ Hana, Brielle, Lovely, I need you to take the younger kids outside for a while, alright?” She asked her middle child softly, but Hana shook her head.

“ But big sis-!” Hana began, but her mother quickly shook her head.

“ Hikari will be alright, so please just take care of the others.” She told her, her voice still soft, but it held a firmness to it. Which Hana knew meant that she was serious. Hana, Lovely, and Brielle quickly looked at each other before they began to usher the younger children out of the room.

As soon as the younger children left the room, everyone seemed to be snapped back to reality. Each parent rushed towards their child. Panic, worry, and fear laced their voices, eyes, and faces as they each reached them.

“ I’m sorry, I’m so, so sorry! I only got the vision a few hours ago, and when I did, I rushed over here as quickly as I could since my communication device wasn’t working!” Sterling told them, panic in her voice as she rushed over to them. But Josele quickly shook her head as she cupped her eldest child’s face gently.

“ It’s not your fault Sterling, you did well,” She told her softly, a tender smile on her face. “ Do you mind going outside with the younger kids? I’m worried they might get into a bit of trouble if left unsupervised.”

The red haired girl nodded slowly before doing as her mother asked and running out the same door that the younger kids did.

Meanwhile, Yami quickly knelt down and carefully cradled Hikari’s cool and limp body in his arms. Her dark hair was matted with blood, her clothes were torn, and her skin was deathly pale and cool to the touch…he couldn’t ever recall a time when she was so cold. But she was still breathing, it was shallow, but it was there and that was what mattered.

He slowly looked up, he could hear the screams and shouts of the Bulls as they urged their children to wake up. But it all sounded so muffled to him. It was like his head was underwater. He could see Gordon and Henry holding Wendy and Alice tightly in their arms, with Zora and Josele trying their best to aid the girls as Nacht issued various orders to his four devils.

He could see Gauche holding Aloys in his arms, and hear his muffled shouts as Grey tried to use her healing spell on him. His grey eyes slowly moved towards where Finral and Vanessa were kneeling. The Spatial mage seemed to be in shock as he held Ezio’s body, while Vanessa was doing her best to try to snap him out of his daze.

But what pulled Yami out of his daze was Secre, who rushed over to the pile.

“ Rune! Rune, what are you doing here?!” She shouted in shock as she picked up her 21-year-old son.

Rune was the adopted son of Secre. She had found him outside the Hideout when he was 11 years old, and at first she was going to take him to the orphanage in Kikka. But the longer she was around him, the more he reminded her of Lumiere, both in appearance and in personality…and in the end she just couldn’t give him up. When he got his grimoire, he decided instead of becoming a Magic Knight, he was going to travel all around the world and see everything it had to offer. Secre was a little saddened, but still supported his decision.

But when everyone had heard from him two days ago, he was supposedly still in the Diamond Kingdom…so how on earth did he get from there to Hage village?!

Yami shook his head, that wasn’t important right now, right now they needed to get all of their kids to Owen!

“ Finral!” Yami shouted as loud as possible, making the other man blink and jump in surprise. “ Snap out of it and open a portal to the infirmary!” He instructed, and Finral quickly nodded.

He handed Ezio to Vanessa and Magna before he stood up, and with a trembling hand he quickly opened a portal large enough for everyone to fit through.

“ A-Alright! It’s open!” Finral shouted, his voice shaking almost as bad as his body was. But Yami only nodded before looking at everyone.

“ Josele, Zora, you two help Henry and Gordon take Alice and Wendy through the portal first since they seem to be in the worst shape! Vanessa, Gauche, then you two take Aloys and Ezio through. Nacht, you help Secre with Rune. Charlotte and I will be right behind you with Hikari!” Yami ordered, his voice calm and steady, despite feeling nervous and uneasy on the inside.

One by one, each Bull nodded. With Zora and Josele’s help, Gordon and Henry picked up Wendy and Alice and carried them through first. Then Gauche, Grey, Vanessa, and Secre received help from Luck, Charmy, Nacht, and Magna with carrying their sons. Finally, Yami, Finral, and Charlotte all quickly walked through the portal as well. Hoping beyond hope that Ezio had gotten the kids back to the Hideout in time.

When the group appeared at the infirmary at the Magic Knight Headquarters, they were greeted by Owen, who had a very surprised look on his face.

“ My gods! Cecil, get the other Healers in here quickly!” Owen had shouted over his shoulder, and his fifteen-year-old son quickly nodded before disappearing behind the double doors.

Soon, nearly a dozen Healers appeared before the Bulls. They quickly put the wounded onto stretchers and rushed them back behind the double doors, and when Hikari was placed onto the last stretcher, Yami looked up at Owen.

“ You better save them. All of them.” Yami growled, his tone serious and slightly threatening, but Owen didn’t even flinch.

“ I’m going to be blunt with you, Yami. They’re all gravely injured, so while we’ll do the best we can, if I were you, I would prepare for the worst…just in case.” Owen told him seriously, and as he and Cecil began to rush Hikari to the back, his eyes narrowed a bit.

Yami wouldn’t let go of Hikari’s hand.

“ Yami, if we don’t treat her now, her injuries will only get worse. So please trust me, and let her go.” Owen told him softly, his voice full of understanding, but Yami still didn’t budge.

Not until he felt a gentle hand touch his shoulder.

“ Yami,” Charlotte began softly. Her voice was firm, but he could hear a slight shakiness to it. “ We have to let her go now. The sooner we do, the sooner we get her back. So please…let her go.” She pleaded, her voice growing softer and softer and trembling more and more as the words left her mouth.

Yami felt his heart clench in his chest, and reluctantly, he let go of Hikari’s hand and watched as Cecil and Owen wheel her back behind the double doors. Only when they disappeared and were out of sight did his legs buckle, and he fell to his knees. He could hear the worried shouts of his squad members and his wife, but he ignored them and just stared at the double doors in front of him.

No matter how hard he tried, his body wouldn’t stop trembling, from both fear and anger.

A few Hours Later, Infirmary at the Magic Knight Headquarters

Tick…Tock…Tick…Tock

The clock in the infirmary ticked as the Bulls silently waited in the infirmary halls for news of their children. Gauche was restless, so he paced back and forth down the hall, while Grey and Secre sat quietly in a chair beside Charmy and Josele, who was doing her best to comfort the woman. Meanwhile, Henry, Gordon, Finral, and Vanessa were both being comforted by Luck, Zora, and Magna. Further down the hall sat Yami, Charlotte, and Nacht.

What on earth happened out there? They were just supposed to be facing off against regular bandits, which they had done many times before, so how did they end up like this?

Yami ran a hand over his tired face as the memory disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. It didn’t make sense. Hikari and the other brats were all very skilled Magic Knights, and were more than capable of handling bandits on their own…unless…

Everyone jumped as they suddenly heard the door on the other side of the room slam open, their heads instantly turned, and their eyes widened as they saw Asta and Noelle standing there.

The two were slightly out of breath and their cheeks were red, proof that they had rushed to the infirmary. Their faces and eyes were filled with worry as they stared at their friend's troubled faces.

“ We came as soon as we heard!” Asta said as Noelle nodded in agreement.

“ How did you two find out so quickly?” Nacht asked with a bit of a frown.

“ I went to the Hideout to drop off Kaiyo, and I was stopped by Gimodelo. He said he and the other Bremen devils were tasked with protecting the area until you all returned, but eventually he let me through and Sterling told me everything that happened.” She explained, and the others nodded slowly.

“ Then Noelle called me with the communication device, and now we’re both here.” Asta said, and he watched as Yami sighed and shook his head.

“ You shouldn’t be here, brat, you have more important places to be right now.” He told him seriously, but the younger man shook his head.

“ It can wait. Vangeance said he would inform the other Captain’s and cancel the meeting and push everything back until tomorrow.” Asta explained. “ He also wanted me to tell you that he would come by at the end of the day.” He added with a small smile.

“ Have… you guys heard anything yet?” Noelle asked hesitantly, but Charlotte quickly shook her head.

“ No, nothing yet.”

“ That’s good, though, right? Don’t they say no news is good news?” Gauche scoffed at Noelle’s hopeful words as he suddenly stopped pacing.

“ Whoever came up with that line of crap wasn’t a parent,” He spat, his voice full of anger as he looked at her. “ Getting no news isn’t good. It’s pure torture, and I can’t take it anymore.” He added as he suddenly spun on his heel and began walking towards the double doors, but Nacht instantly stepped in front of him.

“ If you go in there right now, it’ll cause your son more harm than good,” Nacht began, his tone firm and serious. “ So if I were you, I would wait-.”

Gauche quickly cut him off.

“ ‘Wait’? Ha! That’s easy for you to say, since none of your kids were on that mission, and you’ve got nothing to worry about,” Gauche began angrily. “ Hell, despite their friends being in the squad, your brats hardly involve themselves in the Black Bulls!” Gauche continued, his voice growing louder as he grabbed the front of Nacht’s shirt roughly and glared at the older man.

“ Speaking of, why didn’t Sterling see this coming? Isn’t she supposed to know things hours, if not days, in advance? So why the hell didn’t she warn us about this sooner!”

“ It’s not exactly Sterling's job to keep tabs on your kids and their futures! Besides, it’d be too much of a strain on her to see the future of a whole group of people,” Nacht told him in an icy yet calm tone. “ And even if she could do that, it’s not like the future is set in stone.”

Gauche growled, “ So I’m just supposed to accept that my son got messed up and there’s nothing I could’ve done to stop it?!”

“ I think you will have to accept it, Mr. Adlai,” Nacht responded. “ Because whatever harmed the kids is done and in the past. It can’t be changed. It can only be dealt with in the present.”

Gauche shook his head, he didn’t want to hear it!

“ Shut up,” He muttered under his breath, his grip on Nacht’s shirt tightening. “ Just shut up you bastard!” He repeated, his voice having grown loud and angry suddenly.

As Yami and some of the other Bulls stood and began to walk over to the two, they all paused as they heard a door squeak open. Everyone in the hallway slowly turned towards the sound, and they saw Owen standing there.

And the look on his face sent everyone's hearts straight to their stomachs.

The Crimson Lions Base

Loud bangs and bright flashes of light could be seen and heard throughout the training area of the Crimson Lion Kings base. Some thought maybe it was Lord Fuegoleon and Lord Leo dueling, or that maybe Lady Mereoleona and Lady Elenora were causing havoc and mischief as they trained together.

But instead, it was Lord Leonidas and Lord Alistar Vangeance from the Golden Dawn training together.

Servants, and Crimson Lion members alike, stopped what they were doing to watch the two young men go back and forth. They cheered, they gasped, and the women in the crowd squealed as the sparring session continued on.

Until finally Alistar conceded defeat to Leon, making everyone roar and cheer loudly with pride at the Lion Prince’s victory!

“ You know, our sparring sessions usually end in a draw,” Leon panted a bit as he walked over to where his friend was kneeling. “ So either you were going easy on me, or you’re distracted.” He added as he held out a hand towards his friend.

“ I totally went easy on you,” Alistar responded with a cheeky grin. “ It wouldn’t be right if I kicked your butt in your own base and in front of your entire squad.” He added as he took his friend's outstretched hand.

The young Vermillion pulled his friend to his feet with a small laugh and shake of his head.

“ So, shall we discuss what has you so distracted over a glass of water here? Or would you prefer a cup of tea in my mother's private garden?” Leon asked, emphasizing the word ‘private’ as he felt some lingering eyes from a few of the ladies staring at them.

“ Umm…I think a cup of tea in your mother's private garden would be perfect.” Alistar said as his face grew red. He could feel the women’s eyes on his back, and hear their voices and their giggles float towards him.

Leon nodded and began to lead his friend towards the garden.

The two sighed as they practically flopped down onto one of the stone benches that sat under the large tree in Solara’s garden. Both took a deep breath and sighed softly as the cool breeze washed over them.

“ So, are you planning on waiting until our tea gets here to tell me what’s wrong? Or will you tell me now?” Leon asked, and he almost chuckled when he heard Alistar heave another heavy sigh.

“ Geez, you’re almost as pushy as Hikari,” Alistar muttered before he rubbed the back of his head as Leon chuckled. “ Anyway, It’s just…something feels off today.”

“ What do you mean?” Leon asked curiously as he looked up from the porcelain cup in his hand.

“ Well, last night, my father told us that we would have an emergency Captain’s meeting because Captain Yami and Vice-Captain Nacht found some information on Cerberus.” Alistar began as he stared into the depths of the amber liquid that rested in his cup. “ But then, when I was about to go to the Headquarters, my father called again and said that something urgent had come up and that the meeting had been postponed until tomorrow.”

“ Maybe Captain Yami and Vice-Captain Nacht found more information? Or maybe Hikari and the others did while they were in Hage?” Leon suggested after humming in thought.

It wasn’t unusual for Captain’s meetings to be delayed. Sometimes it was due to schedule conflicts, and sometimes it was because Asta was either behind in his paperwork or because he had run off in search of new magic or adventure.

“ I doubt it,” Alistar said with a soft sigh. “ The mission Hikari’s on doesn’t have anything to do with Cerberus…” He trailed off softly, a frown suddenly forming on his face.

No…surely that wasn’t-.

“ Alistar!” A panicked shout suddenly echoed through the garden, Leon and Alistar both turned to see Phoebe Luftair running towards them.

“ Phoebe? What’s going on?” Leon asked as he and Alistar both quickly stood.

“ You…You need to go to the infirmary at Headquarters!” She panted as she tried to catch her breath and talk at the same time, Alistar and Leon glanced at one another before looking back at Phoebe.

“ What are you talking about? What’s going on?” Alistar asked, his tone serious, but it held a worriedness to it.

Leon stepped forward and placed a gentle hand on Phoebe’s shoulder.

“ Just take a deep breath, and tell us what happened.” He urged softly, but his voice was as serious as Alistar’s. Phoebe did as her friend said and took a deep breath.

“ It’s Hikari. She and the Black Bulls were seriously injured during their mission, and it…it doesn’t look good,” Phoebe said, her grey eyes staring into his blue ones to help convey the seriousness of the situation. “ You need to go. Now.”

Alistar felt his heart sink, and a cold sweat suddenly appeared on his skin. He could see Leon’s lips moving, but he couldn’t hear a single word he was saying, because his voice was being drowned out by the loud and anxious beating of his heart.

With a slow nod, he quickly used his plant magic to create a broom out of various vines, and flew towards the Headquarters infirmary.

Back at the Infirmary

As Alistar rushed down the halls of the Magic Knight Headquarters, multiple thoughts and scenarios ran through his mind. Thoughts such as how could this have happened? How injured was Hikari and the others? Who had done this?

Obviously Cerberus was involved, but just how involved were they? Did they send a group up to Hage for the sole reason of attacking the Bulls? Were they already there to begin with? Alistar quickly shook his head, now wasn’t the time to be worried about that. Right now, he had something more important that he was worried about;

Hikari.

‘ Please let her be okay. Please let her be okay!’ He frantically thought as he grew closer and closer to the doors that led to the infirmary.

Until he finally rounded one last corner and saw the big wooden door that had the sign ‘Magic Knight Infirmary’ above it.

Alistar slowly walked up to it, his breathing labored, his heart still drumming loudly in ears. What would he see on the other side, he wondered as he slowly reached out towards the door.

His hand paused in mid-air. He hadn’t realized it until now, but his hand was shaking, no, his entire body was shaking. He quickly pulled his hand back and took a deep, calming breath.

‘ She’ll be okay, so just calm down, she’ll be okay.’

With that thought in mind, he reached out again and placed his hand on the doorknob and slowly pulled it open.

As soon as Alistar pulled the door open, he heard Owen’s voice.

“ Hikari, Aloys, Ezio, and Rune are all okay. But they all suffered from major injuries and electrical burns,” Owen began as he looked at everyone. “ Rune lost his left arm, Aloys had a gash across his abdomen along with a stab wound to the shoulder, Ezio was the least injured out of all the children. He had a more serious wound across his chest along with some minor ones across his arms and hands, but otherwise he was alright, and Hikari…” Alistar inhaled sharply.

“ Hikari had the most injuries. She had a bunch of minor cuts across her face, arms, and legs. She had a serious gash across her back, and a major stab wound to her chest. But despite that, they’re all alive.” Owen concluded, and a collective sigh of relief escaped from the Bulls and Alistar.

They were injured, but they were alive. Hikari was alive, and that was what mattered. Except…

“ What about Alice and Wendy? How are they?” Henry asked, his normally slow speech seeming to pick up a bit of speed.

Owen’s face suddenly became regretful, and his eyes grew sad as he looked at Henry and Gordon directly.

“ I’m sorry…but they’re gone.”

Owen’s soft voice seemed to boom loudly in the quiet waiting area. No one moved, no one even seemed to breathe…until finally a choked voice asked.

“ I don’t understand…what do you mean they’re gone?” Gordon asked, his normally quiet voice also seemed to boom loudly in the quiet space.

“ I mean…Wendy Agrippa and Alice Legolant didn’t make it,” Owen repeated, his voice gentle as he looked at Gordon and Henry. “ Their injuries were just too great. We did everything we could…” Owen continued, although he knew deep down that his words would give no comfort to them.

The room fell silent as everyone stood there in shock. Alice and Wendy…were gone?

Alistar watched sadly as the Adlai’s comforted Gordon, and Henry crouched down with Josele and Nacht at his side. The others also began to comfort them, as well as each other.

The girls weren’t only Henry and Gordon’s kids, they were also family to the other Black Bulls as well.

Alistar suddenly felt a pair of eyes staring at him, and when he glanced up he saw it was Captain Yami who was staring at him.

“ Give us a bit, will ya brat?” His eyes told the younger man, and Alistar quickly nodded and quietly backed out of the room.

As soon as he closed the door, he could hear loud, painful cries and sobs begin on the other side…
