"why have i been activated"
i get the impression that the shadow clones wouldn't be the type to question their "activation" for a mission like that... unless... this one is a bit... deviant from the rest... and how crosshair said in his case he was too defective to become one... but tech was the one who said "we are more deviant than defective"...

For the past month or so, I have been reading. Like a fuck ton of reading. What exactly was I reading? The Rina-Kent Universe. Yes, my book taste has escalated severely, probs not in a good way.
Idk, I had an itch for a possessive book bf and I found a lot in Rina’s books. A few of them (Sebestian, Kingsley, Jonathan) were annoying. A few of them were concerning (Aiden, Cole, Killian, Creighton, Adrian, Jeremy, Sebestian again). A few of them I downright loved and I ignore each and every fault (Kiril, Levi, Aiden bcs I’m insane, Cole, Asher, Killian (as someone who doesn’t eat well, him making her lunches gives him a special place in my heart) Landon, Eli).
I can’t even defend myself. I just wanted dark shit and that’s exactly what I got. 10/10, I had so much fun during it all and I can’t even remember half of the couples!!!

Reading this book about the gay legal movement in Washington DC in the 50s/60s is just proving something I already knew even harder: none of the arguments are new. They’re all the same and the only thing that’s changed is the occasional term, sometimes not even that. We’re always perverts and degenerates and deranged and unnatural. It doesn’t matter how carefully we apply logic or legal arguments or respectability - we’re always an evil permeating society and damaging women and children in some mumble mumble way.

Also: How would they enforce it? Expansively. During the Lavender Scare (look it up), anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 people lost their jobs and probably affected far, far more people who were targeted by government investigations.
Many of those people, both those investigated and those fired, were straight. It didn't matter. The bar to prove you were gay was low and the investigators cleared it. So those people lost their jobs, and lost them for being gay which effectively tanked their careers just as much as if they'd been gay anyway. The people behind a moral panic never care about having good standards of evidence.
We live in a world where a gay man is openly the secretary of transportation, and even though I am not a Pete Buttigieg fan, it's kind of incredible to me when you think about how not that long ago it was that you were not allowed to be a government employee and gay at the same time.
I mean Frank Kameny (also look him up) was at the White House when Obama signed the order granting benefits to federal employees same sex partners in 2009.
These days were not long ago. They will go back to them in a heartbeat if they can. And creating a widespread mindset that there are certain types of sex that consenting adults shouldn't be allowed to have because you personally find it distasteful is exactly how you give them that power.
Anyway with anti-sodomy laws back on the discussion table I'm going to repeat that you can personally be squicked out by the consensual sex someone else has, but saying that their consensual sex between willing, active, adult participants should be illegal and is indicative of some sort of moral failing is L I T E R A L L Y a major facet in extreme homophobia and absolutely has gotten people killed.
You don't have to like their business but as long as everyone involved in the encounter is saying yes, it's also really not your business.
This is the precident you are helping further by digging your heels in and saying 'but I think it's gross and makes them bad people'. This is what happened last time that was the reasoning for law, and what is being threatened to happen again.
