A fun fact about Orminston Gorge is that the river that runs through it, the Finke River, is the oldest river in the world. The reason it has this odd honour is that because it flows infrequently the course of it doesn't change as much, and that is what makes it old.

I grew up in this area. The desert is SO beautiful, and amazing. I miss it a lot.
