I've been watching Storm Hawks lately. Well... rewatching ig? To tell the truth I didn't remember a single thing about this show until I came across a youtube video about it and suddenly realized that I've definitely seen the visual of characters flying bike-planes before

OneNETnews EXCLUSIVE: A Separate Couple had connected between the Gravity Falls & The Owl House for a Marriage Robbery Incident

BORING, OREGON -- Two universes joined forces between the unmentioned crossover of Gravity Falls and The Owl House. The separate couple identifies from a Book 3's Journal named "Edalyn Clawthorne", which is actually a dual nicknames of Eda/Marilyn from the city of Demon Realm at the Boiling Isles. Luz Noceda questioned in at a local cinema for confirmation as the unnamed Shopkeeper also told to Disney XD News during a new episode of The Owl House called 'Yeserday's Lie', a classified unpaid debt is the actual cause for its said incident, "She tried to pay for a latte with a live raccoon (2 months ago). But when I called the cops, she did something weird to the Croissants. We threw ‘em in the trash but... Well, now we have a whole new problem".

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) had issued for an arrest warrant between Rosenstein and Pines-Clawthorne for a crime violation of the Republic Act #6539: Section 2 or Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972 and in relation with the Republic Act #3765 or Truth in Lending Act of 1963. As a result, both of them are sentenced to 15-18 years in prison under a Reclusión Temporal as including for the RA #3765.

Rosenstein and Pines-Clawthorne were separated before The Owl House as the show creators noted. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) had advised to be aware for a separate couple between the secret crime crossover of Gravity Falls and The Owl House under a non-bailable prison sentence.

Hi guys I have good and bad news. The bad one is that Dave’s Q&A on Twitch wasn’t recorded and I didn’t watch it so there won’t be a list about it :(  Good news is that Viv gave an interview few days ago. Its more about the making than the content of the shows but I hope you like it anyway. Enjoy.    

1.       It took 4-5 months to do the pilot of Helluva Boss

2.       The latinoamerican team behind Helluva was selected because they already had experience working together, making good quality content and working fast.

3.       The team of animators are part-time so they come and go as will in the projects.

4.       It is planned to do 7 new episodes of Helluva Boss.

5.       Each Helluva episode will be a different adventure in different scenarios because the imps can travel around the world

6.       For Helluva there is (approximately) 10 background artists, 5 character designers and 15 clean up artists. (min 12:23)

7.        Viv and other artist does main composition.  

8.       Viv calculates around 40-50 people in total that help in the making of Helluva Boss (min 13:45)

9.       The team was bigger for Hazbin Hotel  

10.   The budget for Hazbin was: Patreon (new and old accounts), her freelance jobs, her personal savings (since high school, including graduation gifts) and sales.  (min 16:00)

11.   The money of the sales and patreon goes to different projects, not only Hazbin

12.   Viv asked for help and suggestions to different studios and freelance artists to know how they managed to create big projects with crowdfunding

13.   Every single penny of the sales goes to the projects

14.   The zoophobia short is expected to be finished in summer

15.   Hazbin’s episodes are planned to be 22 min long, so it’s needed a lot of budging and help because even if Viv and her team try to make the first season as fast as they can it would take a year per episode. So that’s why Viv is looking for a better way to produce the show.

16.   Helluva has a shorter story and narrative than Hazbin plus is easier to produce and release, that’s why it was decided to be the show to be continued on youtube.

17.   Viv knows the demons of her series don’t have this cliché look of red body with tail and big horns. That’s because, according to her, demons are supposed to look different from each other and because her characters are based in different religions and myths, not the typical image that everyone has of hell.

18.   Viv likes her characters to be animals because they can be appealing, a good story teller device and easy to be included in any level of drama, like Zootopia or BoJack Horseman.  

19.   Different shows, artists, entertainment companies and movies inspired Viv while growing

up, like for example in the design of her characters (Tim burton, Invader Zim), appealing (Disney) and cartoon characters doing adult stuff (Who framed roger rabbit).

20.   Ed Bosco, the voice actor of Alastor, also did the voice of Lucifer in the “Son of 666” short.

21.   Viv won The Dusty Award and was gave to her by Ralph Bakshi

22.   Viv worked as an artist for a studio owned by Dreamworks in a short called “Too loud”

23.   Zoophobia is Viv’s webcomic when she was in college. She likes to call it her “childhood comic” because she did it while she was growing up as a story teller and artist. That’s the same reason why she says is messy.  

24.   If she ever has the chance to continue the comic she would reboot it instead.

25.   Zoohpobia was the start of everything. Thanks to that comic Viv learned to tell stories better and it was the origin of other series too, like Hazbin.

26.   When Viv got very busy in the school of animation in New York doing her thesis project she lost passion for the comic.  

27.   If Viv would do a reboot she wouldn’t change the characters and their personalities much, only the story because she is now a better story teller than she was in college.

Shōnen Anime Through The Feminist Lens

During quarantine, there has been a significant rise in the popularity of Anime; this wave of new fans brought back memories of when I first started exploring anime and how I came to love this media. Anime is a confusing word: In the western world, anime a separate genre of animated shows and movies from the typical western cartoons (ie. SpongeBob, Tom and Jerry, etc.) while in Japan, it refers to any animation in general. But for the sake of simplicity, I will refer to anime as a type of animated show or movie that uses signature aspects of Japanese-style animation.

Usually, a person is recommended mainstream shows from the shōnen genre when introduced to anime. Shōnen anime and manga are marketed towards boys between the ages of 12-18, but a lot of people outside of that demographic enjoy this genre as well. I find myself watching and recommending shōnen shows because of how exceptionally written the plot, the character development, and worldbuilding are. However, problems with female representation stem from the misconception that shōnen is only for boys or that girls don’t enjoy these types of stories. It is frustrating to see how little action and development female characters are given compared to their male counterparts and how often they are sexualized for the sake of comedic relief or fan service. 

NARUTO and NARUTO SHIPPUDEN

The Naruto series follows the journey of Naruto Uzumaki as he achieves his dreams to be acknowledged by the village he lives in and become the Hokage (the leader of the village). It’s a story about saving the world, protecting your loved ones, and believing in yourself.

Almost every person who has watched more than 3 years of anime has seen Naruto; those who haven’t still can recognize characters, references, and general plot points. Yes, it is THAT popular. I knew about the show but, I put off this anime for so long because of the silly reason that Naruto was an annoying brat at the beginning of the series. It took me a few months to build up my courage to pick up the series again— and wow! I was glad I did! I restarted my journey about two months ago and, as of today, I have less than 50 episodes left to watch to finish the series (keep in mind that the complete series has about 700 episodes). I got attached to the characters for their development and their compelling stories. I saw Naruto grow from being a troublemaker to a dependable hero, watched Sasuke go down a dark path for the sake of revenge, and learned about Kakashi and Itachi’s heartbreaking childhoods. But the girls? Where are the girls?

As well written as the story is, girls in Naruto are viewed as support-type characters for the boys; their stories aren’t touched upon and remain the same throughout the series. The lack of development of the girls is best highlighted by Sakura— the main female character and the most hated person from the series, and dare I say, all of anime. At the beginning of the series, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura train together to become ninjas with their teacher, Kakashi. Sasuke was a prodigy and excelled in every task, Sakura was known for her intelligence and chakra control, and Naruto lacked skill yet impulsively charged headfirst towards his enemies. As the show went on, Naruto and Sasuke’s skills have grown on par as they continuously try to learn new powers to one-up the other. But Sakura stayed the same. Even though she gained super strength and trained to become a medical ninja under the Fifth Hokage, her abilities and progress are constantly shadowed by her teammates' flashy powers (look at the picture above). This gap is even more prominent after the time skip in Shippuden where she becomes a “damsel in distress” which annoyed a lot of fans. She had so much potential to become a great character. Even if she was not the strongest ninja, the show could have taken steps to make her valuable in some way even if all they did was make her an efficient support character to Naruto and Sasuke instead of making her seem like she is always in their way. The unbalance caused by the lack of active female roles in Naruto leaves the female audience unrepresented. The female characters' underdevelopment implied that the girls are incompetent and therefore don’t get to make an impact in the story.  

ONE PIECE

I can talk about this show for hours. With 950+ anime episodes and 1000+ manga chapters, One Piece is synonymous with art; it follows the story of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, on an adventure to find One Piece. Unlike other shōnen stories, One Piece immerses the audience into a mysterious world that is complex, dynamic, and feels real. Every single character is well developed— each of them have insanely detailed backstories, memorable personalities, and compelling motivations making them feel human. The story also tackles unconventional topics such as slavery, racism, the justice system, and classism. I could go on and on listing reasons as to why I love One Piece or why it is worth catching up to the 950 episodes, but I feel like you should let One Piece in and find that out for yourself. 

Unlike Naruto, women take on significant roles in One Piece and are often admired as role models. However, the lack of body diversity and the over-sexualization of the female characters leave a rather unpleasant aftertaste. 

As seen above, they all suffer the same-body syndrome— large breasts, impossibly tiny waists, and skimpy clothing. I get that these are common types of fanservice but, there are plenty of questionable design choices whenever fanservice is prioritized over logic (ie. the top-left girl is supposed to be a gladiator but her outfit does the very opposite of protecting her as it leaves her vital areas exposed). Another issue I have is with Sanji and his behaviour around women. He is the prime example of what the internet would call a ‘simp’ where his perverse tendencies and chivalry clash whenever he is near a female character. I feel like his overprotectiveness toward women and his willingness to die for them is counterintuitive to the powerful portrayal of women in the story. I understand that fanservice isn't going anywhere but the girls’ unrealistic designs and their treatment dilute their complex characterization to mere pretty and delicate objects.

CONCLUSION

From a feminist point of view, Naruto and One Piece have their own shortcomings when it comes to the inclusion and depiction of girls. I particularly chose to talk about them because they are the central faces of the shōnen genre, both of them depict common issues with female representation in most shōnen stories. It is understandable to a certain extent as to why the authors chose to draw/develop their characters, however, the lack of active female characters in shōnen stories fuels the ” shōnen is for boys, therefore, don’t expect female representation” narrative. It would do no harm to write stronger and more complex female characters in these stories, in fact, it would make the stories much more interesting as there is variation in perspectives and experiences— especially now because of the strong societal push toward feminism and the growing female audience consuming anime media. The fact that shounen does target boys is perhaps the most important reason to feature complex, active female characters in these stories—not only as supportive figures or dream girls, but as someone they can relate to and look up to as well.

EXTRA: NEW GENERATION SHŌNEN!

Naruto and One Piece have been in the anime scene for decades, but as societal values shift, many New Generation Shōnen are trying to tackle the inclusion of feminism in their stories. Here are some:

Boku no Hero Academia, one of the primary faces of New Gen Shōnen: A superheroes story where superpowers or quirks rule the world.  Physical advantages male characters may have during fights is insignificant as the winner is decided by their ability to use their power at its full potential and their compatibility with the opponent’s quirk. Women are shown to have different body types, breaking the skinny hourglass stereotype with healthy and muscular bodies. The first thing that stuck out to me was that I tend to start with a fact. Someone was this age, the weather was this. Often, I specifically stated the time of day. It's night so often, go to sleep, all of you.

Next, I talked about the setting. The characters get introduced later. I need to establish where we are and what's happening naturally before the characters go messing with anything.

The second most common thing I did was say something philosophical. I did this when I was about to start toying with an idea, like anger being represented by the color pink instead of red.

T;dr, I need to get more creative with my openings lol

My favorite opening line was probably "The Choice" actually. I don't really know why, I just like the way it flows.

but yeah, both of these pics will have an 18+ version as well. i admit i’m super anxious about posting it next week, as i’ve seen just how absolutely toxic fandom is on twitter. like, you thought tumblr was bad? i’ve spent the last few days preemptively blocking literally hundreds if not thousands of antis just so i can feel a little safer posting my content without some asshat calling me a pedo or telling me to kill myself over cartoons. XU i somewhat worry that i’ve accidentally blocked some people who were just joking around and weren’t actually harassing anyone, but it’s just so hard to tell sometimes. if i’ve accidentally blocked anybody here, just let me know so i can unblock you. :3 (idk why that sentence came out so sinister sounding but i’m legit being sincere X’D).

but seriously, idk when fandom suddenly got such a stick up its ass (around 2016-17 from my guesstimate) and decided aging-up a fictional character by a year or two is such a crime, but i guess that’s just the state of things. :T i could draw vanitas as a centaur or make him blond or whatever and no one cares, but aging him by one year? suddenly big problem! yeah, right. XP like, i know i said every character in kh is 17+ as of khmom (ignoring any weird timeline retcons of course), but heck i could make an honest case for the wayfinder family all being adults. hear me out—

it’s been 13 years since bbs, right? and for 12 of those years, aqua was in the realm of darkness, terra had some awareness while being possessed by xehanort, ven experienced some of sora’s life when he was in a coma, and vanitas was almost certainly in ven/sora’s heart as well, so all four of them could be said to be 31, 33, and 29 respectively. it’s not like their character models were any different when they were young teens as opposed to older teens, so can we really be sure they’re not all 30~ by now? heck, since ven is from the age of fairytales i could say he’s 1000 years old if i wanted too! (psst, it’s almost as if these are all fictional characters living in a fantasy world with time travel and whatnot and their ages are completely arbitrary numbers nomura made up on the spot, numbers which he has retconned before! :P).

now i don’t actually think they’re that old, but if people are gonna hassle me over a goddamn 2-year age difference, i might as well say fuck it and have fun with it, right? ;P it’s not like antis even know what the canon character ages even actually are, like when they try to say that skuld is underage when (assuming she’s subject x) she’d be around 28~ by now, or axel and saïx’s age. (maybe i’ll draw some saïx x skuld art and watch the antis lose their minds. ;P it wouldn’t even have to be nsfw to rile them up).

anyway, i do admit i’m feeling a little burned out on art recently. XP i’ve been trying to get one art piece out per week plus venqua week, and yeah it’s kinda taken its toll. i know this really isn’t anything anyone wants to hear, but i’ve been kinda thinking of moving away from fandom projects to work on my own original work. now, i’m not saying i’m abandoning a heart and a half nor anything as drastic as that! but i have spent like 2 years of my life on it just to get to the halfway mark, and i’m not sure i can spend 2 more doing only that.

i’ve got an original story idea that i’ve been working on-and-off on for the past 7 years or so, and i’m thinking of going back to it again (it does need a pretty big re-write). its main pairing is actually pretty vanqua-ish, now that i think about it. like, imagine the realm of darkness but instead of the heartless it’s infested with demons, and the main characters are the demon-slaying duo of a serious yet kindhearted half-angel and a feral, snarky half-demon. i even aged them up from 14 to 18 so none of my potential fans have to suffer the same anti bullshit that i have. XP

sooo~ i’ve kinda hinted at this before, but yeah i’ve always planned on adding a sex scene to a heart and a half; when i started writing back in 2018 i hadn’t realized how hostile fandom had become compared to only a few years ago, and it worries me that some readers might drop the fic because of it, or be angry with me over the underage aspect. :(

idk, i could go on about how i just wanted to explore every aspect of a romantic relationship, or how other disney/square enix characters married or had kids young (ariel, sarah hawkins, héctor, claudia strife, possibly jasmine), or how attempting to apply real-world rules to a videogame fantasy setting is inherently silly and pointless, but really it’s just ‘cause i love vanitas and aqua to bits and i just wanted to write a cute and funny mild sex scene between them (this fic is rated mature, not explicit, so much less graphic than confection affection), and at the end of the day they are just fictional characters, after all.

i guess all i can hope for is that i’m a skilled enough writer to pull it off in a believable way, and that my audience won’t be too put off by it. >_> i know vanitas and aqua have technically only known each other for about 2 months so it might not be ‘realistic’ for them to go so far into a relationship so soon, but i think it’s important to remember that ultimately this is a romantic fairytale, and other canon disney couples haven’t seen nearly as deeply into each other’s hearts as vanitas and aqua have (and this video also helped me feel better about it).

i also wanted to finish that nsfw venqua fic i started a few months back, it’s set just before the mark of mastery so yes ven would be 16. i suppose it’s a way of testing the waters to see what kind of reception i’d get (hopefully positive) before i get to that part of a heart and a half. i was also thinking of including some of the uh, ‘keyblades as erogenous zones’ aspect from this terraquaven fic as well... w-why are you looking at me like that?! it’s funny! *sweats nervously* o3o’

in all honesty, i’m probably just overthinking all this (which, knowing me, is almost a guarantee >_<) and i should just *ahem* let my heart be my guiding key, and just write what i want to write without worrying about it all the time. i just get so anxious so easily... buuut that’s not really news to anyone, now is it? ;P well, i think that’s the end of my endless ramble, thanks for reading if you got this far. ESSAY: Berserk's Journey of Acceptance Over 30 Years of Fandom

  My descent into anime fandom began in the '90s, and just as watching Neon Genesis Evangelion caused my first revelation that cartoons could be art, reading Berserk gave me the same realization about comics. The news of Kentaro Miura’s death, who passed on May 6, has been emotionally complicated for me, as it's the first time a celebrity's death has hit truly close to home. In addition to being the lynchpin for several important personal revelations, Berserk is one of the longest-lasting works I’ve followed and that I must suddenly bid farewell to after existing alongside it for two-thirds of my life.

  Berserk is a monolith not only for anime and manga, but also fantasy literature, video games, you name it. It might be one of the single most influential works of the ‘80s — on a level similar to Blade Runner — to a degree where it’s difficult to imagine what the world might look like without it, and the generations of creators the series inspired.

  Although not the first, Guts is the prototypical large sword anime boy: Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife, Siegfried/Nightmare from Soulcalibur, and Black Clover's Asta are all links in the same chain, with other series like Dark Souls and Claymore taking clear inspiration from Berserk. But even deeper than that, the three-character dynamic between Guts, Griffith, and Casca, the monster designs, the grotesque violence, Miura’s image of hell — all of them can be spotted in countless pieces of media across the globe.

  Despite this, it just doesn’t seem like people talk about it very much. For over 20 years, Berserk has stood among the critical pantheon for both anime and manga, but it doesn’t spur conversations in the same way as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Akira, or Dragon Ball Z still do today. Its graphic depictions certainly represent a barrier to entry much higher than even the aforementioned company. 

    Seeing the internet exude sympathy and fond reminiscing about Berserk was immensely validating and has been my single most therapeutic experience online. Moreso, it reminded me that the fans have always been there. And even looking into it, Berserk is the single best-selling property in the 35-year history of Dark Horse. My feeling is that Berserk just has something about it that reaches deep into you and gets stuck there.

  I recall introducing one of my housemates to Berserk a few years ago — a person with all the intelligence and personal drive to both work on cancer research at Stanford while pursuing his own MD and maintaining a level of physical fitness that was frankly unreasonable for the hours that he kept. He was NOT in any way analytical about the media he consumed, but watching him sitting on the floor turning all his considerable willpower and intellect toward delivering an off-the-cuff treatise on how Berserk had so deeply touched him was a sight in itself to behold. His thoughts on the series' portrayal of sex as fundamentally violent leading up to Guts and Casca’s first moment of intimacy in the Golden Age movies was one of the most beautiful sentiments I’d ever heard in reaction to a piece of fiction.

  I don’t think I’d ever heard him provide anything but a surface-level take on a piece of media before or since. He was a pretty forthright guy, but the way he just cut into himself and let his feelings pour out onto the floor left me awestruck. The process of reading Berserk can strike emotional chords within you that are tough to untangle. I’ve been writing analysis and experiential pieces related to anime and manga for almost ten years — and interacting with Berserk’s world for almost 30 years — and writing may just be yet another attempt for me to pull my own twisted-up feelings about it apart. 

  Berserk is one of the most deeply personal works I’ve ever read, both for myself and in my perception of Miura's works. The series' transformation in the past 30 years artistically and thematically is so singular it's difficult to find another work that comes close. The author of Hajime no Ippo, who was among the first to see Berserk as Miura presented him with some early drafts working as his assistant, claimed that the design for Guts and Puck had come from a mess of ideas Miura had been working on since his early school days.

  Miura claimed two of his big influences were Go Nagai’s Violence Jack and Tetsuo Hara and Buronson’s Fist of the North Star. Miura wears these influences on his sleeve, discovering the early concepts that had percolated in his mind just felt right. The beginning of Berserk, despite its amazing visual power, feels like it sprang from a very juvenile concept: Guts is a hypermasculine lone traveler breaking his body against nightmarish creatures in his single-minded pursuit of revenge, rigidly independent and distrustful of others due to his dark past.

  Uncompromising, rugged, independent, a really big sword ... Guts is a romantic ideal of masculinity on a quest to personally serve justice against the one who wronged him. Almost nefarious in the manner in which his character checked these boxes, especially when it came to his grim stoicism, unblinkingly facing his struggle against literal cosmic forces. Never doubting himself, never trusting others, never weeping for what he had lost.

    Miura said he sketched out most of the backstory when the manga began publication, so I have to assume the larger strokes of the Golden Arc were pretty well figured out from the outset, but I’m less sure if he had fully realized where he wanted to take the story to where we are now. After the introductory mini-arcs of demon-slaying, Berserk encounters Griffith and the story draws us back to a massive flashback arc. We see the same Guts living as a lone mercenary who Griffith persuades to join the Band of the Hawk to help realize his ambitions of rising above the circumstances of his birth to join the nobility.

  We discover the horrific abuses of Guts’ adoptive father and eventually learn that Guts, Griffith, and Casca are all victims of sexual violence. The story develops into a sprawling semi-historical epic featuring politics and war, but the real narrative is in the growing companionship between Guts and the members of the band. Directionless and traumatized by his childhood, Guts slowly finds a purpose helping Griffith realize his dream and the courage to allow others to grow close to him. 

  Miura mentioned that many Band of the Hawk members were based on his early friend groups. Although he was always sparse with details about his personal life, he has spoken about how many of them referred to themselves as aspiring manga authors and how he felt an intense sense of competition, admitting that among them he may have been the only one seriously working toward that goal, desperately keeping ahead in his perceived race against them. It’s intriguing thinking about how much of this angst may have made it to the pages, as it's almost impossible not to imagine Miura put quite a bit of himself in Guts. 

  Perhaps this is why it feels so real and makes The Eclipse — the quintessential anime betrayal at the hands of Griffith — all the more heartbreaking. The raw violence and macabre imagery certainly helped. While Miura owed Hellraiser’s Cenobites much in the designs of the God Hand, his macabre portrayal of the Band of the Hawk’s eradication within the literal bowels of hell, the massive hand, the black sun, the Skull Knight, and even Miura’s page compositions have been endlessly referenced, copied, and outright plagiarized since.

    The events were tragic in any context and I have heard many deeply personal experiences others drew from The Eclipse sympathizing with Guts, Casca, or even Griffith’s spiral driven by his perceived rejection by Guts. Mine were most closely aligned with the tragedy of Guts having overcome such painful circumstances to not only reject his own self enforced solitude, but to fearlessly express his affection for his loved ones. 

  The Golden Age was a methodical destruction of Guts’ self-destructive methods of preservation ruined in a single selfish act by his most trusted friend, leaving him once again alone and afraid of growing close to those around him. It ripped the romance of Guts’ mission and eventually took the story down a course I never expected. Berserk wasn’t a story of revenge but one of recovery.

  Guess that’s enough beating around the bush, as I should talk about how this shift affected me personally. When I was young, when I began reading Berserk I found Guts’ unflagging stoicism to be really cool, not just aesthetically but in how I understood guys were supposed to be. I was slow to make friends during school and my rapidly gentrifying neighborhood had my friends' parents moving away faster than I could find new ones. At some point I think I became too afraid of putting myself out there anymore, risking rejection when even acceptance was so fleeting. It began to feel easier just to resign myself to solitude and pretend my circumstances were beyond my own power to correct.

  Unfortunately, I became the stereotypical kid who ate alone during lunch break. Under the invisible expectations demanding I not display weakness, my loneliness was compounded by shame for feeling loneliness. My only recourse was to reveal none of those feelings and pretend the whole thing didn't bother me at all. Needless to say my attempts to cope probably fooled no one and only made things even worse, but I really didn’t know of any better way to handle my situation. I felt bad, I felt even worse about feeling bad and had been provided with zero tools to cope, much less even admit that I had a problem at all.

  The arcs following the Golden Age completely changed my perspective. Guts had tragically, yet understandably, cut himself off from others to save himself from experiencing that trauma again and, in effect, denied himself any opportunity to allow himself to be happy again. As he began to meet other characters that attached themselves to him, between Rickert and Erica spending months waiting worried for his return, and even the slimmest hope to rescuing Casca began to seed itself into the story, I could only see Guts as a fool pursuing a grim and hopeless task rather than appreciating everything that he had managed to hold onto. 

  The same attributes that made Guts so compelling in the opening chapters were revealed as his true enemy. Griffith had committed an unforgivable act but Guts’ journey for revenge was one of self-inflicted pain and fear. The romanticism was gone.

  Farnese’s inclusion in the Conviction arc was a revelation. Among the many brilliant aspects of her character, I identified with her simply for how she acted as a stand-in for myself as the reader: Plagued by self-doubt and fear, desperate to maintain her own stoic and uncompromising image, and resentful of her place in the world. She sees Guts’ fearlessness in the face of cosmic horror and believes she might be able to learn his confidence.

    But in following Guts, Farnese instead finds a teacher in Casca. In taking care of her, Farnese develops a connection and is able to experience genuine sympathy that develops into a sense of responsibility. Caring for Casca allows Farnese to develop the courage she was lacking not out of reckless self-abandon but compassion.

  I can’t exactly credit Berserk with turning my life around, but I feel that it genuinely helped crystallize within me a sense of growing doubts about my maladjusted high school days. My growing awareness of Guts' undeniable role in his own suffering forced me to admit my own role in mine and created a determination to take action to fix it rather than pretending enough stoicism might actually result in some sort of solution.

  I visited the Berserk subreddit from time to time and always enjoyed the group's penchant for referring to all the members of the board as “fellow strugglers,” owing both to Skull Knight’s label for Guts and their own tongue-in-cheek humor at waiting through extended hiatuses. Only in retrospect did it feel truly fitting to me. Trying to avoid the pitfalls of Guts’ path is a constant struggle. Today I’m blessed with many good friends but still feel primal pangs of fear holding me back nearly every time I meet someone, the idea of telling others how much they mean to me or even sharing my thoughts and feelings about something I care about deeply as if each action will expose me to attack.

  It’s taken time to pull myself away from the behaviors that were so deeply ingrained and it’s a journey where I’m not sure the work will ever be truly done, but witnessing Guts’ own slow progress has been a constant source of reassurance. My sense of admiration for Miura’s epic tale of a man allowing himself to let go after suffering such devastating circumstances brought my own humble problems and their way out into focus.

    Over the years I, and many others, have been forced to come to terms with the fact that Berserk would likely never finish. The pattern of long, unexplained hiatuses and the solemn recognition that any of them could be the last is a familiar one. The double-edged sword of manga largely being works created by a single individual is that there is rarely anyone in a position to pick up the torch when the creator calls it quits. Takehiko Inoue’s Vagabond, Ai Yazawa’s Nana, and likely Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter X Hunter all frozen in indefinite hiatus, the publishers respectfully holding the door open should the creators ever decide to return, leaving it in a liminal space with no sense of conclusion for the fans except what we can make for ourselves.

  The reason for Miura’s hiatuses was unclear. Fans liked to joke that he would take long breaks to play The Idolmaster, but Miura was also infamous for taking “breaks” spent minutely illustrating panels to his exacting artistic standard, creating a tumultuous release schedule during the wars featuring thousands of tiny soldiers all dressed in period-appropriate armor. If his health was becoming an issue, it’s uncommon that news would be shared with fans for most authors, much less one as private as Miura.

  Even without delays, the story Miura was building just seemed to be getting too big. The scale continued to grow, his narrative ambition swelling even faster after 20 years of publication, the depth and breadth of his universe constantly expanding. The fan-dubbed “Millennium Falcon Arc” was massive, changing the landscape of Berserk from a low fantasy plagued by roaming demons to a high fantasy where godlike beings of sanity-defying size battled for control of the world. How could Guts even meet Griffith again? What might Casca want to do when her sanity returned? What are the origins of the Skull Knight? And would he do battle with the God Hand? There was too much left to happen and Miura’s art only grew more and more elaborate. It would take decades to resolve all this.

  But it didn’t need to. I imagine we’ll never get a precise picture of the final years of Miura’s life leading up to his tragic passing. In the final chapters he released, it felt as if he had directed the story to some conclusion. The unfinished Fantasia arc finds Guts and his newfound band finding a way to finally restore Casca’s sanity and — although there is still unmistakably a boundary separating them — both seem resolute in finding a way to mend their shared wounds together.

  One of the final chapters features Guts drinking around the campfire with the two other men of his group, Serpico and Roderick, as he entrusts the recovery of Casca to Schierke and Farnese. It's a scene that, in the original Band of the Hawk, would have found Guts brooding as his fellows engage in bluster. The tone of this conversation, however, is completely different. The three commiserate over how much has changed and the strength each has found in the companionship of the others. After everything that has happened, Guts declares that he is grateful. 

  The suicidal dedication to his quest for vengeance and dispassionate pragmatism that defined Guts in the earliest chapters is gone. Although they first appeared to be a source of strength as the Black Swordsman, he has learned that they rose from the fear of losing his friends again, from letting others close enough to harm him, and from having no other purpose without others. Whether or not Guts and Griffith were to ever meet again, Guts has rediscovered the strength to no longer carry his burdens alone. 

  All that has happened is all there will ever be. We too must be grateful.

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

I think I started shipping Amy/Rory during the Venice fish monster ep - cos that was when I felt Amy really did love him back and they had a future together. Before I suspected that her running away with the Doctor was a sign she and Rory weren’t right for each other.

2. Have you ever read a FanFiction about 2?

Only read a handful of Ineffable fic. Overall I’m perfectly happy with the canon alone.

3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr?

Yes I’ve had Foxma themed phone backgrounds and a tumblr header :)

4. If 7 were to suddenly break-up today, what would your reaction be?

Disbelief and disapproval. Nomi and Amanita were one of the great constants of Sense8 for me. I think a break up would be out of character for them tbh. Plus it would be denying the black and trans characters a rare example of a happy ending, which would suck.

5. Why is 1 so important?

I wrote such a detailed thing about how DeanCas is not only important to me personally but also how I feel it’s been important for TV/media in general... ugh, tumblr!

In a nutshell - this ship helped me better myself in various ways. It introduced me to fandom,  which boosted my confidence and independence via increased socialisation; it encouraged me to write more, which improved my writing skills; meta discussions educated me on lots of issues, inc. but not limited to abuse, sexuality, gender identit, autism and racism.

I also genuinely believe that the loud and open fandom support of the ship has been a significant help in the ongoing battle for more and better queer rep in media.

6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship?

Serious! Catra and Adora’s relationship is a core part of the whole show, relating to lots of the wider themes of abuse, toxic behaviour, growth and forgiveness. Plus the significance of a same sex romance involving the lead character in a CHILDREN’S CARTOON really cannot be overstated.

I’ve spoken before about having issues with the concept of ‘chemistry.’ If I ship characters it’s usually because I find the combination of their characterisation and story arcs interesting/compelling. I often don’t notice (or I guess care about?) chemistry.

So I think I’m not qualified to answer this one.

I’ve rewatched The Librarians 2 or 3 times now. It’s DAFT. But it’s fun. And Eve and Flynn make me feel warm and fuzzy.

10. Which ship has lasted the longest?

Again, as @castiel-saved-me-from-myself​ said - it’s gotta be the Ineffables, both within AND outside of the story, since Good Omens was originally published over 30 years ago and the Zira/Crowley shippers have been going strong all that time. Otherwise it’s DeanCas.

(though idk if Catradora was a ship back when the original She Ra cartoon was airing, or when the original cartoon was made, so it’s possible that is also a contender!)

11. How many times, if ever, has 2 broken up?

Lol at @castiel-saved-me-from-myself​ for getting Nygmob for this one, as their relationship is, like, 90% break up :P

For the Ineffables though it’s basically just the once - when Zira chooses Heaven over Crowley. Not made such a Big Deal in the book IIRC, but in the show it’s the infamous Bandstand Break Up scene.

All other separations are only minor, temporary squabbles imo. Which is what makes the Bandstand scene so PAINFULLY, BEAUTIFULLY, ANGSTY AND EMOTIONAL and why I love it so! 

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

I figure angels and demons probably can’t be killed by zombies, so the Ineffables are the most likely.

But Eve and Flynn did actually face off against zombie-ghost things in an alt universe during a whole Loom of Fate plot and survived, so I think they’d probably also make it.

13. Did 5 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

No, Babs and Tabs were always open about being together, even when Tabs was also in a relationship with Butch.

I might argue they hid the depth of their feelings for each other though, even from themselves, and instead made out what they had together was just a casual ‘friends with benefits’ type thing.

Though Tabs did hide things a little when she sent assassins after Jim cos she blamed him for putting Babs in a coma. She clearly knew her brother would disappprove, which is why she didn’t tell him what she was doing. I guess that kinda counts as hiding her relationship with Babs? She was trying to conceal how much Babs mattered to her?

14. Is 4 still together?

Lol, Foxma were never together (ALAS!). But the show did end with their lingering fondness for each other intact I think.

15. Is 3 canon?

Is Nygmobblepot canon? Rather a touchy question for the fandom tbh.

If we are talking EXPLICIT canon - then no. 

They never got a kiss or a MUTUAL love declaration (and they had a controversial ‘we’re brothers’ exchange in the penultimate episode) - ergo there is not enough, imo, to say they ended the show officially romantically involved.

However, Ozzie DID EXPLICITLY DECLARE HIS ROMANTIC LOVE for Ed, and that was never rescinded. There is also LOTS OF SUBTEXT floating around Ed to imply he reciprocates. Plus they did end the show together as clear Partners in Crime.

So is Nygmob subtextual canon?

I would say yes.

But explicit, CANON canon?

A frustrating no that fandom remains, understandably, critical about.

16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?

I think a toss up between Nygmob and Babitha - because everyone else has too many morals that would hold them back from killing :p

(and since Ed and Oz have both bested Babs and Tabs in the past I lean towards them... but it would depend on when in Gotham canon the games were happening!)

17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 10’s ship?

Breaking up Cosima and Delphine was a LITERAL PLOT POINT of Orphan Black at one point, so very much yes! I forget the details (the show got very twisty, with lots of different organisations working on different agendas in the shadows), but I’m pretty sure Delphine was shot because she was protecting Cosima. I remember it BROKE MY HEART and I thought it was a casebook example of Bury Your Gays. But, spoiler: it wasn’t ;)

18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

Going with DeanCas, because I think that, historically, it’s the one that’s been in most need of defending.

19. Do you spend hours a day going through 1’s tumblr page?

Not anymore I’m afraid. Though 3 or so years ago I used to spend most of my free time on DeanCas and spn meta. Ah, nostalgia.

Foxma. Because while I adore the idea of a messy, confused ~something between them, in my heart I know that Foxy deserves better :P

9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?

Evelyn. She’s just... a really bland and confusing character. I mean, she hates superheroes because her dad decided to call superheroes for help during an armed robbery rather than running to his safe room despite the fact that he of all people would know it would be immensely difficult if not impossible to be saved by a superhero and ended up getting his dumb ass killed? Like ok sure, I see how she may have been irrational with grief to the point of hating superheroes if he had just died, but he died 15 fucking years before the events of the movie. And what, Evelyn just let her murderous tendencies fester all that time? I mean I know Syndrome did that too, but the difference is that Evelyn would have had to have been a full grown adult, and a very wealthy one at that, with a supportive family in Winston and her mom (up until she died anyway) and you’re trying to tell me she never sought help from anyone?

And then her plan to get rid of supers is to make supers look good by setting up crimes for them to foil (crimes that risked the lives of and likely killed at least a few innocent civilians, by the way) then hypnotize them to doing evil stuff to make them lose the public’s trust despite the fact that the public already knows there’s a villain that uses hypnotism running around, on top of the fact that she only put the final stage of her plan in action AFTER superheroes were literally made legal forever?

And her plot twist as the villain could be seen from a mile away, I mean, there’s just... there’s no creativity in her character, and her very existence spits in the face of the “these aren’t cartoon villains” message of the first movie. I know I tend to exaggerate in order to get my point across, but I am 100% literal when I say that Evelyn’s character is a disgrace to what made the original I/ncredibles such a classic movie.

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

The last thing I watched with any sort of arc (besides individual character arcs) was probably Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School and that was like a year ago and nothing arc related stood out as particularly bad to me soooo

Take a wild fuckin’ guess.

I mean I don’t expect Syndrome to be well liked, but the fandom’s hatred for him is just excessive. I mean they will find a way to hate him over damn near everything, even stuff he never did like calling him a homophobe/rapist/incel etc (and those are legitimate examples I have heard btw). I mean I’ve heard people say that he was always destined to be evil, even as a child trying to help people, and then they turn around and demonize him for ya know, actually being evil as if they even believe he had a choice in the matter if he’s apparently destined for evil? And that’s just the surface level of the shit I’ve seen. It’s just some really over the top shit.

Teruteru is a deeper character than just a creep, Buddy is a deeper character than just a villain, and he’s not evil because he’s an entitled brat, he’s evil because his trust in others has been completely destroyed (and no, not just because he was rejected once, his persistence in still trying to get Bob’s attention after being literally thrown out of a car is proof that he’s used to having to go through extreme ways of being noticed) and he believes that nothing he does will be good enough to be recognized in a positive way, so he feels like he has to force his way into the spotlight.

Buddy could have been a great person and superhero had he had an actual support network to encourage him and provide him with healthy coping mechanisms. Saying someone is destined for evil is fucked up.

Also he’s handsome as fuck. Fight me.

Everyone knows the fandom is filled with assholes. The unpopular opinion is who the assholes are, and newsflash it’s literally everyone save for like the 5 people I’m chill with.

We Should Honor Their Memories, But Let New Voices Still Form

Kirby Morrow Who Voiced Cole in Ninjago Pilot Episodes & Season 14. I had just found out about it, and I didn't know he had died, I decided to look it up and it says that he died on November 18, 2020.

we know that Bulma's Original Voice Actress, Hiromi Tsuru, had passed away a few years ago.

even if a character gets a new voice, there will always be a special place in the heart for the one who gave them their first voice. which is something that Louis Prima's widow/wife, should of learned a long time ago. just because King Louie gets a new voice, don't mean Louis Prima wont still hold a special place in everyone's hearts.

we can think of how Toons get new voices, from a Toon Voice Factory,

where they get a new voice.

the reason why Wylie Coyote doesn’t speak now, but have spoken in the episodes that had him in a Cartoon with Bugs.

might have to do with he never had a permanent voice actor.

Toons who were never given a voice, only speak with signs,

or some can speak in sign language.

even if  Louis Prima’s wife has a right to her feelings, one of them being missing her husband but did doesn’t mean she was in the wrong with some stuff that went on that has to do with King Louie.

I really didn’t know that Kirby Morrow, who was Cole’s voice in the Pilot episodes and even Season 14, had died.

also I believe that if Kai ever got married and had kids,

Kai’s Mom Maya was the Master of Water before Nya, so it makes sense that element would either be inherited by either Kai’s children or Nya’s children.

but it might be Kai’s children that will be the next Siblings of Fire & Water,

unless it will be one kid who ends up being a Master of both Fire and Water.

Felix might be a jerk, but he might be more reasonable than Adrien, and it might be best that one day in the future, he becomes the new holder of the Cat Miraculous.

we have seen how Adrien got when he got akumatized, was both a danger to himself and the whole world in one of the timelines.

plus what he almost did to Scarabella (who is Alya Cesaire)

almost crossed a line, just like how it was crossed with Aeon.

yes with Aeon, he did in on accident, but with Alya, he could of ended up killing her and without a Ladybug to be there to fix what he did, but once she is back...she should take his ring away from him.

I get that Marinette loves Adrien, but she needs to understand that he can be dangerous on his own, and can end up mistaking human as a sentimonster.

I think it’s best that someone else becomes the wielder of the Cat Miraculous,

if and only if, Adrien proves to be too dangerous to be it’s wielder any longer.

we know that Tikki can be dangerous, and Plagg is needed to fix her messes.   

anyway, those who voice the characters we love, will hold a special place in everyone’s hearts, but we shouldn’t tarnish it by keeping the character from having a new voice from someone new.

which is a mistake that has happen to one of Disney’s Characters.

 so even if I didn’t know about what happen to Kirby Morrow until now,

I believe this is the first time I heard the news.

but one of the episodes of Ninjago had “In Loving Memory” and his name on it.

showing that the last episode from the last season, is in his memory.

and remember to let the characters have a new voice, and not tarnish the memories of those who were the first to give the voice of the characters.

“Sorry you had to see that, Mr. Drew. Always hard sending someone back to the right realm.”

“….Hill?”

“Well…. A version of him, yes.” Murray Hill bounced his shoulder in a shrug, his calm expression never leaving his face. Despite Joey’s minimal better judgment, he took the mechanic’s hand and started to pull himself up. His shoulder was really giving him trouble… Maybe he landed on it wrong? Once he was on his feet, he experimentally rubbed his shoulder and found out two things. The first thing was the instant throb of pain as he touched his shoulder and upper arm; that was a bit of a relief even though it was his right shoulder. It would probably bruise, but he’d had much worse before. He could still draw and write. The second thing was not as comforting… Far from it. A large puddle of ink was on the floor, like someone had kicked over a half-gallon of ink. His thoughts immediately went to his Creations, his children… Could they have melted?

His heart started to sink at the mere idea before the logical part of his brain reminded him this was only a half-gallon. Not even his small Bendy would be hurt at this amount…. Dizzy, but not melted….

He held a hand to the side of his head, forgetting that he was spreading ink across his face. He worried himself sick in a matter of seconds… Hadn’t done that in a long time. But… Those images from only seconds ago were branded into his mind. And he couldn’t shake the fear those images gave him. He’d only known Sammy Wes a short time, but… He was a good man. He didn’t deserve what he saw.

Pulling his hand down, he regarded Murray Hill with undisguised suspicion. And maybe a bit of hate. “…I’ll take it you snuck in when Sammy Wes was brought here.”

The mechanic smiled a little wider, and Joey immediately felt like he was 30 years younger, being given a patronizing smile by someone much, much older. It irked the animator so much, but despite the unease he felt, he needed to be calm. Murray leaned back on his hip, letting his arms rest behind his back as he answered. “Somewhat. But you are right, I came around the same time Mr. Lawrence did.”

“You don’t seem surprised, Mr. Hill.” Maybe that’s where most of his unease was… Nothing was normal or natural about this. And he wasn’t a stranger to people reacting to the bizarre and unnatural in their own ways, but those were still reactions. Henry still yelled at him, scolded him. Norman nearly walked out on him. But this… This wasn’t a reaction. “I can assume by Sammy Wes’s reaction that this kind of thing isn’t normal where you two are from. How can you stand there and not even falter?” Maybe it was just the fact that Joey didn’t like the images he’d seen in the flashes. But he was also frustrated, and he was angry. And maybe, in the midst of all that, curious. Curious on how someone else snuck in during his ritual when no others did with….the other versions of Sammy…..

All three feelings intentisfied as Murray Hill laughed. He looked so amused and jovial, and Joey felt an incredible urge to scream at him. “HA hahaha haaaaa…. Ohhh, you are only half-right, Mr. Drew. This sort of thing is…well, unheard of in Mr. Sammy Wes Lawrence’s realm.”

….What?

WHAT??

He tried opening his mouth to ask a question, or to call him out on his lie, but he ended up gaping like a fish out of water. Suddenly, the lack of reaction made perfect sense. But then, why had he not gone with Sammy Wes?? Why had he snuck in??

Hill calmly walked to Joey’s desk, setting a hand on the wood as he looked over the open books. “It’s a shame, really… I thought this realm was like my own. But you made your Creations out of actual magic and dark arts.”

“Of course! …How else do you suggest someone brings cartoons to life?!” His anger was only growing the more Murray stood there, taunting him. It wasn’t just insulting, it was infuriating. He knew more than he was saying, and the talking-down was not helping matters either. He was a young man, how would he know anything?!

“It’s not in your realm, Mr. Drew. But there’s other ways. … I would know.”

“Is that so?” Joey started to walk out of the puddle’s radius, planning to walk to the other side of his desk. He made it, and was momentarily grateful for his height that gave him a few inches on the mechanic. “Then what are you doing, going through other versions and realms like this? Why not just go back to your own world, leave mine and Mr. Lawrence’s be?”

Murray Hill finally scowled up to Joey, but it still unnerved the animator that the red glint in his eyes only brightened. “You certainly are one to talk. Playing with spells and rituals like an impudent child, with insatiable curiosity on what your world is like in other worlds. …I cannot go to my own realm, Mr. Drew. In fact, I can only go to realms that are not my own. Realms without true Creators. …I doubt a selfish, arrogant man like you can understand the blessings you have here.” He picked up the dark book in front of him, and held it so close to Joey’s face, he was surprised he hadn’t been hit with it. “You are not a Creator I am looking for. I almost made one out of a different Joey Drew, but he failed. Rather spectacularly I might add. You are lucky.” He spat out the word with disgust. “You get your Creations, even if they are false ones. You barely sacrificed a thing compared to the others.”

“Stop it.” Joey hadn’t even realized his hands were clenched, nails threatening to cut into the skin of his palm. But he could only see red, much as he wanted to calm down. This man could insult him all he wanted, but… “Stop calling my Creations false. They’re real. They’re real as I am.”

“Oh. You misunderstand me. I didn’t mean they were not real. I just meant they are not Creations like I am.” The sly smile was back in place on Murray Hill’s face, and he turned to the ink puddle on the ground before Joey could fully process what he said. “… Here I thought I found a good version of my realm… But another failure. Just like that of Mr. Lawrence’s.”

Another. This was another failure. Sammy Wes was a fa-….

“…What do you do with your failures?” He needed to be sure his studio, his employees, his children, they were safe from whatever this man could do.

“I leave, Mr. Drew.” He stepped through the puddle of ink, stopping by the door. “So I will leave you be.” The man looked down at the puddle, scoffing. “Such a shame about Mr. Lawrence. He is a stubborn one…. Didn’t realize just how desperate his friend became with my guidance.” He placed a hand on the door knob, about to swing it open. But he paused, looking over his shoulder once more. “The story of Mr. Lawrence and his studio is finished. He nothing but a false protagonist in the story of the dancing demon and my Ink Machine. …Do be careful cleaning him up, will you?”

With that last statement, Murray Hill swung open the door and walked out. The door slid shut behind him, and Joey could only stare at the ink in utter disbelief. A half-gallon. A half-gallon was perfect for a human….

He felt bile rise in his throat, and watched as the giant ink puddle dissolved and disappeared. Leaving nothing, not even a mask like the last time.

Q&A Facts

First of all, I want to inform that my internet is screwed up. I don't know what is happening but I didn't have internet all day and probably won't have it tomorrow. I am using a “Mobile Partner” so I will try to post the most I can about Momocon (well its only this and probably a gif of the new clip but you get me).  

I watched all the Q&A video from Vivziepop panel and there was a lot of wonderful things people asked. Also thanks to @kaedesan721 for giving me some extra info about the panel. 

1.       Someone asked if fat nuggets is in hell because of random reasons or if he is an “evil pig”. Vivz answered that those kind of facts are still in construction.

2.       Someone asked about the creation of the characters. Alastor was created in the Hazbin world because he already was an old, long-time, character that Viv had changed a lot of times. So she kept him, because she liked the way he is and she rearranged him for the story of Hazbin Hotel. Angel was based in Arackniss. Arackniss was created first but then Vivz decided to give him a more funny personality and that’s how Angel Dust was created. Husk was based in a sketch Vivz’s little sister did long ago, she just changed some things and thats how Husk was created. Charlie “just appeared” in vivz mind and she decided immediately that Charlie would work as the main character. There was already another demon called Charlie but still, Vivz decided to keep the name anyway.

3.       There are some jokes that were scraped from the pilot (I hope they show us those someday).

4.       There will be also a lot of cameos in the pilot, from different characters that come from old and new shows created by Vivzie

5.       Sir Pentious was originated because vivz likes cobras and cliché villains, also she wanted to do a really funny villain with the typical minions. “A cynical, derpy, classy villain”

6.       The series will be 30 episodes long, the idea is from each one to be 30 min long, but given the reality of the case, it depends on the amount of help the show’ll receive how long every episode will be (15 min or 10 or whatever).

7.       In a question about the pilot, Viv said after it's release it's up in the air about its future, but it's a bright future. Studios have been "sniffing around." There's interest but nothing concrete.

8.       The pilot, of course, will be the last animation of Hazbin for this year, because producing more takes a lot of time. But, there will be comics and maybe other content about the series. As Vivz said “whatever that takes the production going”

9.       Alastor is Vivz favorite because he was the first one created from all the cast of Hazbin Hotel (I mean who doesn’t love the daddy deer demon I am right?)

10.       Vivz is working in the script of two zoophobia cartoons, but the productions of them will come “when they can”

11.   Vivz will try to connect all her shows together but is difficult because they are very different from each other, in context and locations.

12.   Alastor has a deer tail? Not even Vivzie knows because Alastor has never been seen without his jacket 

13.   Indeed Angel will have a boyfriend, but Vivz didn’t tell if we have already seen the lucky guy or not. (should we do a bet? Lmao).

14.   Alastor is the hardest to animate/clean up of all the characters according to Vivz, Tom and Ashley. (I guess its because of his hair and ears).  

15.   Alastor is definitely part of the main cast. Although all attention is going to be centered in Angel, Charlie and Vaggie, Vivz confirmed Alastor is going to be in a lot of episodes too, while characters like Husk and Niffty and the others are going to be in some episodes sometimes.

16.   In terms of writing, Angel is the hardest because “his complex brain” and the huge level of sass that Vivz doesn’t have. In contrast, Charlie is the easiest to write.

19.   Vivz likes edgy characters but after adjusting Alastor into the 30s themes, she discovered he would work better as a “Cheshire cat villain”. Grimm but still goofy, someone who wants to mess up with everybody. Like an edgy-funny, instead of an edgy-edgy character.

20.   Someone DARED to ask where the Egg bois come from and if its Sir Pentious the one who lays them. Vivz said that the answer will appear later in the series and that the eggbois’ origin is going to be something funny, a joke, and Vivz doesn’t want to spoil that. But in the meantime, we are free to think whatever we want about it. (lmao I laughed so hard at that moment my father almost kill me for waking him up haha).

21.   Some Hazbin Voice Actors could work for the zoophobia shorts, but most of the zoophobia VA are going to be new.

I based this a little on @disneyphantomlover ‘s rendition of Sammy.

A long, long time ago

I can still remember how that music used to make me smile

And I knew if I had my chance

That I could make those people dance

And maybe they’d be happy for a while

All Sammy Lawrence had ever wanted to do was make music. From the time he’d been very young, it had been his dream. He’d seen how the music in church moved people, and how the music of the composers of the past had swept people up in what they could do. He’d hoped his parents would be supportive of his decision. After all, he already had his life figured out. They, however, were not. Sammy’s father wanted him to become a minister, like himself, and his mother went along with whatever Father Lawrence said. And so Sammy had run away from home as soon as he turned 18. It was hard, living on the streets, but he managed. He always managed. After all, he had a dream he needed to make come true. He was going to make music, he was going to make people smile.

But February made me shiver

With every paper I’d deliver

Bad news on the doorstep

I couldn’t take one more step

Things got hard when the Depression hit. He joined so many others, huddled together in makeshift houses and lean-tos. Sammy had truly thought his life was over, that this was it. He thought he was going to die, penniless and alone, crammed together with a collection of strangers. He picked up some work delivering papers, throwing them on doorsteps for a dollar or two. He trudged on, even in the winter when he could barely feel his fingers. Sometimes he sang for the others in the Hoovervilles or for people on the street. People would throw spare change into his hat mostly out of pity. He was so thin his skin looked like paper stretched over the bones. That was how he met Joey Drew. He’d been singing on a street corner one day when the man had walked up and offered him a job. Sammy almost couldn’t believe his luck. For a moment, he’d thought Joey was pulling his leg, that the man was playing a cruel prank on him. But Joey had been genuine, offering his hand to the other man.

I can’t remember if I cried

When I read about his widowed bride

But something touched me deep inside

The day the music died

He’d heard about his father’s death shortly after he’d started working at Joey Drew Studios. Henry asked if Sammy wanted to go to the funeral, but Sammy had firmly told him it wasn’t going to happen. He knew it seemed cold, but he wasn’t about to jeopardise all he’d worked for just so that his mother could berate him for being so selfish. His family hadn’t cared about him. They’d only cared about what they could make him into. He had a song to share with the world and he was going to do it, no matter what.

Now for ten years we’ve been on our own

And moss grows fat on a rollin’ stone

But that’s not how it used to be

When the jester sang for the king and queen

In a coat he borrowed from James Dean

And a voice that came from you and me

For a long time, things were good. The studio grew, the cartoons took off, and soon everyone knew Sammy’s name. He was ecstatic. He was finally able to do what he’d always wanted. He was making people smile with his music. More people were hired to the studio. Thomas Connor, Grant Cohen, Wally Franks, Norman Polk, Shawn Flynn….Susie Campbell. Susie was one of the best things about the studio. Her smile, her voice, the way she acted out her character. He fell for her. Hard. For the first time in his life, Sammy actually felt happy. He was content with his life and had enough money to stop living in the studio and get his own apartment. He had what he’d always wanted.

Oh, and while the king was looking down

The jester stole his thorny crown

The courtroom was adjourned

No verdict was returned

Then Henry left. He signed up and went off to war, leaving all of them behind. Joey had a screaming match with the man the day he left, which made everyone avoid Joey’s office for the rest of the day afterwards. Things started changing after that. The ink machine and Murray Hill were brought in. Everything smelled of ink after that. Ink ink ink ink ink. It was all ink all the time. Sammy felt like he was going crazy! His work was always getting ruined, his office was always flooding, the stairwell was flooding. Sammy had complained to Joey multiple times, but Joey’s solutions only made things worse. Ink valves, ink pumps, none of them solved the actual problem. Sammy was starting to question whether he still wanted to work here. But this job was all he had.

Something was wrong with Joey. Sammy had always known something was different about Joey, but it had become more obvious now that Henry wasn’t there to reign the other man in. Pentagrams began appearing around the studio, appearing at such an alarming rate that Wally had given up trying to clean all of them. Employees began disappearing. Joey said they’d quit, but Sammy knew how Joey got when people quit, and the calm smile he gave when asked about the missing employees was nothing like the demon that appeared when people genuinely quit. There was something terrifying about what Joey was becoming. He wouldn’t listen to reason anymore. Nothing mattered but his dreams. Sammy began to question whether or not this job was really worth it. He’d gotten job offers from other studios and he was thinking maybe it was time to take them up on their offers.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage

My hands were clenched in fists of rage

No angel born in Hell

Could break that Satan’s spell

Susie was replaced a few months before Sammy left. Sammy was furious at first, both at Joey and at the girl who had stolen Susie’s job. But once he met Allison Pendle, all his anger vanished. She didn’t deserve the anger he’d held towards her. She was just a bright-eyed former intern. It wasn’t her fault. Susie didn’t see it that way. The two of them had fought over Sammy’s kindness towards Allison, and eventually, they’d split up. It hurt, and Sammy threw himself into Allison’s arms. It was cruel for him to rebound with her and he knew it. But he needed someone to hold.

And as the flames climbed high into the night

To light the sacrificial rite

I saw Satan laughing with delight

The day the music died

In the end, though, Sammy couldn’t take it anymore. Susie was gone, he’d broken Allison’s heart, and people were leaving faster than Joey could hire new employees. Sammy gave his ten days notice, got screamed at by Joey, and never looked back. His dream wasn’t worth the conditions he had to endure there. It wasn’t worth his ruined relationship with both Allison and Susie. It wasn’t worth Joey’s abuse. So he took the job offered to him by a rival studio and started work again. He would achieve his dream once more.

But she just smiled and turned away

I went down to the sacred store

But the man there said the music wouldn’t play

He wrote music again after he left Joey Drew Studios, but it wasn’t the same. It didn’t have the same spark it had had before. He pushed himself harder than he should have, writing page after page after page. His employers praised him for his work, but he wasn’t satisfied. It wasn’t the same. Why wasn’t it the same? His anger at Joey Drew grew. How dare that man take away the only thing Sammy had ever loved?! How dare he take away Sammy’s music?!

And in the streets, the children screamed

The lovers cried and the poets dreamed

But not a word was spoken

The church bells all were broken

When he got a letter from Joey Drew himself, years later, Sammy hesitated about whether to open it or not. He did, eventually. It was an invitation to come back to the studio. Joey said he had something to show him. Sammy, tired and longing for what he had at the studio, went back. His music had died and he wanted to be able to sing again. But what he found there wouldn’t bring his music back. It only drove him deeper into madness.

Please don’t assume that everyone had a wonderful family.

My ex-brother (whom I cut out of my life two years ago) has always been abusive to me since I was born and is also an ableist dickbag to boot. He’s also the kind of person who will beat you up, scream at you, call you names, harass you, badger you, cuss you out, etc., but won’t ever take it back.

And yet people always get so personally fucking insulted enough to say “But he’s your brother, you shouldn’t say those things about him, you should just always love, worship and respect him, no matter what!”

Excuse me, go fuck yourselves!

If your brother treats you like some brothers treat their siblings, you wouldn’t call him that either.

I will say whatever the fuck I want about him; therefore, I will also call him whatever the fuck I want!

He had called me many names to boot, such as stupid, fat, ugly, retard(ed), slut, whore, bitch, cunt, skank, ho, hooker, autist (I’m autistic BTW), stinky, smelly, (fucking) animal, useless, worthless, fatass, piece of shit, beached whale, annoying, obese prostitute, unfuckable, etc.

I call him a beast and an asshole because that’s what he is, he’s a fucking monster!

Before I go on to list abusive things that he did, please don’t say things like “Oh I hate my brother because he got an iPhone X for Christmas and I didn’t”. Don’t get me wrong; I won’t try to belittle your problems, but there are times that there’s nothing to belittle.

When I was little, I tried to get him to play with me and he kept saying things like “Go away!”, “Nobody likes you, etc.”, and yet I wouldn’t shut up, so he beat me up.

Also, even when I was little, he wasn’t above and, therefore, thought nothing twice of, belittling my intelligence (even though I was a good student).

One time, I wanted to watch Timon & Pumbaa and when I was watching its one episode in his room, he kept screaming abusive words in my face and even said that he would beat me so hard he could “send me flying to China”.

He even had horrible fantasies about murdering me in different ways and even beat me so bad that he “would send me flying to Australia or China”.

Then when I was in middle school, he became progressively worse; he would belittle me for watching cartoons (when he would do the same, just to be a hypocrite). He belittled me over my healthy appreciation for Pokemon and Super Smash Bros., tried to rip my Pokemon Stadium 2 poster, Pokemon Gold & Silver poster and Pokemon Crystal poster, respectively (just because he hated them), told me that nobody liked me, that everyone hated me, and even told me to shut up all the time. He would also punch and kick doors everywhere within my ear range (which even carried on well into adulthood until he moved out to New York two years ago) just because he could.

One night on my 14th birthday party, he beat me on the head so hard that I was afraid that I was going to get brain damage after that and it was all because I called him a “motherfucker” for being an abusive scumbag (but that’s what he is TBH). A couple of days later, he beat me up again and it was all because I was trying to kill a mosquito with a fly swatter and I called it the same name that I had called him for being abusive. He also became increasingly hostile towards me and even my “parents”, and yet they wouldn’t try to do anything about it.

Oh, and one time, when I rented Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (say hello to Shadow, people, because that’s what I did) and I chose to start with the Hero Story and, therefore, was already fighting the first boss, my ex-brother walked in on me during said boss battle and, instead of encouraging me that I could beat it, he said that I sucked. Also, when I finally got Sonic Heroes for my eighth grade graduation present, he tried to steal it from me whenever he got the chance.

Oh, and the last time we came to Calistoga (my grandpa was having a birthday there atm), my ex-brother was watching TV and at the same time, screaming at my “mom” and my grandma to shut up just because they couldn’t stop talking.

When I was 15, when a family friend’s father died and my “parents” came over to her house for condolences, I was using my “dad”’s computer when that hideous scumbag of a brother chased me around the house and even threatened to bash my head against the wall until it turned into mush (it sadly wasn’t the first time, though, since he also kept threatening to do that a year prior).

Also, when we went to this even in high school called “Breaking Down the Walls” and I misunderstood something and, therefore, embarrassed him by mistake, other siblings would simply sit their siblings down and talk to them about it and how they feel about it. But not my ex-brother; he really took it the wrong way, so when he came home from school, he immediately beat me up (even while I was trying to do my homework) and it was so bad that I came to school with several bruises and cuts everywhere on my body the next day.

When I was 16, I remember hiding in the water closet with the door locked because my ex-brother was punching and kicking walls and doors and even said that he would break and destroy my face; it was all over the fucking heat machine (which also doubled as an air conditioner every summer) working, since he saw that I was cold and just didn't care at all.

When I was 18, he beat me up on Thanksgiving...and it was over a fucking middle finger.

A year later, he beat me up because I was upset and crying after my “mom” verbally abused me.

I remember being mostly homeless (and living with my grandparents) at age 19.

When I was 22, he called me stupid because my “parents” sent me to get him to help and since he was eating something atm, I couldn't get him to help them with their groceries or something while they (and even my grandparents) just stood idly by and did a big fat nothing about it (my grandpa tried talking to him about it, though).

When I was 23, he lied to my “parents” about me writing stuff about him on Facebook everyday (when, really, I was writing more on JustRage.com instead) and forced them to take away my laptop. Then a few weeks later, when we were moving from Henderson to Las Vegas, I was taking a shower and I was going to blowdry my hair and then straighten it (since I took and still take pride in maintaining straight hair) and he took it the wrong way and not only punched and kicked walls and doors everywhere, but also beat me up (even when I finally got the courage to fight back), bashed my head against the wall and even threw away my GameCube, blowdryer, etc. (I did get them back, though) and even stole my phone, only for my “dad” to make him give it back to me. Then the bext day, we were going to Soyo Barstaurant (it is the weirdest Korean restaurant that I know) and I did what other humans did best, such as breathing, to which he took it the wrong way and screamed at me for breathing. Like, do you really want me to die, asshole? He also screamed at my “parents” and told them bad things about me and even said that they should have me euthanized, all the while misgendering me. Then once we were insude the restaurant, he was still screaming in my face, as if he was possessed by some demon and when I tried to reason with him, he screamed things like “Shut the fuck up, you fucking retard! I’ve always hated you since birth!” My “parents”, though, still did nothing about it. Then the next day, he was still badmouthing me, misgendering me on purpose (I was an AFAB), and even terrorized me.

He also did many more bad things to me, even when we moved again a year later.

At age 24, I tried to get some ice cream and he called me a fat pig and even threatened to beat me up over it, since he cared more about sleep instead of my happiness.

At age 26, he not only did more bad things to me, but even beat me up in the head, punched my rib cage to the point where the bruise on it would last for several weeks on end and even punched my belly so bad that I not only almost died after that, but I was also afraid that because of him, I would never be able to have any children...and it was all because I had enough and tried to run away.

Then a few months later, when my “parents” had to go to California to see what was up with my grandpa (he had dementia and was in the hospital atm because he was hitting my grandma, who had called the cops on him, thrice), my ex-brother beat me up for having cheesecake (I called the cops on him for that, even though they let him go after coming over the next day) and then pulled me out of class the next day, even stealing many of my electronics just because he could. Then the next day, he even stole the keys from me and wouldn't even let me check the mail, even saying “shut up” when I nicely asked to have them back...and then eventually beat me up. That was when I started breaking down, crying and even thinking “How can my own brother, my own flesh and blood, hate me so much? What the hell have I done to him to make me hate him so much?”, to which he just stood there and laughed sadistically in my face. I was not allowed to even lock my door or hide anywhere, even when he chased me with a knife and said that he was going to kill me (I think he might've been in gangs or something like that since high school, just an assumption). Then the next day, he punched and kicked my bedroom door as well as the walls upstairs, belittled my intelligence, badgered me, taunted me, laughed at me, called me names like fat, ugly, stupid, piece of shit, worthless, useless, obese, etc., said that all I did was “eat, shit and sleep” (when in reality, I was---am---the one who has always helped even more than he ever did) and even said that I would never be able to drive or get a job (when in reality, I could go to job training and he was the one who had prevented me from getting a job for several years on end) and that I was only good for sex. He also had tried to rape me for a few days and, therefore, a few times. When I was eating a chocolate muffin, he cruelly snatched it away from me and even crushed it into mush and threw it out in order to prevent me from eating, and then he deliberately jabbed at my throat and punched me. He also then told me that if I told anyone about it, he would murder me in cold blood and rape my corpse and that when my “parents” would die from old age, he would leave me out in the cold and kick me out and that not even my uncle and my grandparents would ever look for me neither (when in reality, I’m the one who has spent more time with them than he ever would) and that everyone hated me. He would also only let me have one meal a day and even told my “parents” through the phone that they should buy me lots of extra-strength diet pills. He still beat me up again the next day (my “parents” were finally coming back atm).

Then the next month, he called me stupid again after he called my “mom” and she forced me to pick up the phone for her against my will.

He did everything he could to make me even twice as miserable as himself.

Then when he moved out to New York, I immediately cut him out of my life and as a result, he could never hurt me again.

Please don't say things like “I hate my brother because he's autistic and annoying and I want him dead” or “I hate my brother because he got an iPhone X for Christmas and I didn't!”

Believe me, all I ever wanted for Yuletide/Christmas (or Hanukkah when I was younger) was a brother who was really nice, loving, caring, mutually helpful, mutually supportive, thoughtful, nurturing, protective (but not overprotective) and very kind so we could be best friends for siblings instead of a monster and his broken little ASAB (assigned sister at birth).

I could go on, but this is my story, so please don't belittle it by saying “I hate my brother because he's annoying” or “I hate my brother because he got an iPhone X for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa and I didn't.”
