Trying to find characters I hadn't already twisted for my student ocs to make my staff ones was such a pain 😭😭😭 but here they are!!

🐦‍⬛Dire Crowley🐦‍⬛

(he/it) - Bisexual

The most USELESS HEADMASTER EVER!!! God, I know his SSR card looks great but I won't pull for it istg this bitch. We could have had Sam or Crewel but nooooo...

- I wanted him to look a bit older but since we don't know his age, I didn't push it too much. No spoilers for book 7 but I assume he's probably fae or smth idk.

- You'll notice I honestly didn't change much about the staff in general but I do like most of their design already. Kept his sclera dark cause it looked cool and made the gold eyes pop.

- He talks in a weird mix of old language that literally no one uses, like hella old-fashioned, and poorly used teen lingo. He's trying... A for effort, ig.

- His house and office are super cluttered with a ton of stuff he's found throughout the years but knows exactly where things are. His memory's actually incredibly good, he's just lazy. He likes to collect teaspoons.

- Later in the story, when he starts kinda view the prefect as his kid of sorts, it starts dropping off little trinkets at Ramshackle. Various things from old photos to books with old annotations to pretty rocks. He just wants the prefect to make the dorm 'more homey'.

- I'll get into this more with my prefect design but when Crowley attended NRC (in my headcanon idk if he actually did), he was a Ramshackle student. As such, my MC is using his old uniform as he didn't have any extra ones.

- He really likes cats but they just fcuking hate him. Lucius hisses everything he see Crowley. This is why he cries himself to sleep.

The good father-figure!! I love Crewel. Also, ignore me misspelling his name in the big one, I thought it had two 'l's...

- He is my Mexican father. Idk they give like simultaneously abuelita and Mexican mom vibes and I am so here for it. (Apparently also Jewish grandma vibes according to @thearchiveofalexandria but I wouldn't know lol).

- I also think he'd be older, like late 40s/early 50s but because of those anti-ageing Mexican genes, they look like 30. (Literally, my mom gets mistaken for being that young, she's in her 50s) Gave him some gray hair at the back but don't be fooled, that's just from putting up with Crowley's bullshit. The shit that goes down in-game for sure results in a couple grey hairs for poor Crewel.

- Is the father figure I never knew I needed, well, my prefect anyway. I know my MC would go to him for anything ranging from 'Crowley's threatening to cut off my water supply!' to 'Can you help me make a Halloween costume?' and his ass always helps. Stan Papa Crewel.

God, I hate Vargas' og design. The worst part is it does it's job, I couldn't find much to change. Also, didn't even know he had a first name lmaooo.

- I gave him more of a beard because it looked so fcuking bad without it ong 😭😭😭 I hated this... that's pretty much all I did.

- That being said, I do think Vargas wants the best for his students. Wait. Dad-bod Vargas. Guys, I just had an epiphany.

- He's got a wife, kids in like elementary school, and like two dogs idk. I feel like he's older thirties. He's giving total family man and likes to cheer on his students like they're his kids too.

- I feel like he's got mad ADHD and it's one of the reasons he became a gym teacher, just to be constantly moving and doing stuff.

My opinion of Vargas has increased while writing this. Onto my funky uncle...

I LOVE SAM!!📢📢

- They're like mid-twenties, I don't know if they went to college but if they did, they were a business major. I gave him a last name too, idk the fact that he didn't have one made me mad. Cecil cause Dr. Facilier had a daughter named Cecilia apparently.

- I tossed in a couple more piercings and I love the idea that he has tattoos too.

- He's like the fun uncle that occasionally sponsor your weird ideas. Wanna make cookies at 3am? His store's still open. Need some Nerf guns? He's got 'em. If he says it's in stock, he will literally have anything. Don't ask, he won't answer you anyway.

- Also has crazy good like and low-key knows the future but typically drops hints in a joking manner. He's also very good at communing with the dead, sales for sessions are discounted in October.

- Incredibly rich. Probably canon given his store branches and the crazy shit he has in his shop but I felt the need to reaffirm it.

- Also supplies Ramshackle with snacks and groceries. My MC works at its shop part time in return but I firmly believe that it'd refuse to let the MC starve.

📚Mozus Trein📚

(he/him) Transmasc - Heterosexual

- Trans old man, idk. He is to me. Also, he's both the history and literature teacher.

- Also changed pretty much nothing lol, he's just an old trans man whose sick of Crowley's bullshit (you'll notice a running theme).

- All the grandpa memes and stereotypes are so true for him. His drinks tea every afternoon, plays chess with Crewel (that's canon btw), and squints whenever you try to show him something, especially on a phone.

- He uses a flip phone mobile-y but his house has a rotary one. His daughters keep telling him to replace it but he refuses, saying modern one are too complicated. His daughters also went to Royal Blade as he originally worked there before recently transferring to NRC.

- Hates pumpkin-flavoured anything so doesn't care much for fall. Winter is his favourite season though as he loves sitting with Lucius by the window on snowy days and reading. Very academiacore, gramps.

- He totally advocated for NRC to allow students to use preferred names.

(she/they/it) Agender - Biromantic Demisexual

- First up is Mèng yáo, twisted from the Horned King from The Black Cauldron. Never seen it personally but @thearchiveofalexandria has and recommended I use its villain.

- She's Chinese and a fae of sorts so she's likely quite old, though she looks in her twenties.

- She's the astrology and philosophy teacher because I thought it would make for a good course since it's mentioned in passing in Book 4.

- She's also skilled in potionology and she and Crewel test out potions for Crewel to teach in class. She is intrigued by the concept of immortality but it's more of a passive study for her.

- She's really bad at getting jokes, though she tries. She's generally not too familiar with modern human concepts but does her best to learn.

Finally,

💎Kore Gorgon💎

(she/her) - Sapphic

- Kore is based on Madame Medusa from The Rescuers, which, fair warning, I ALSO haven't seen. I really needed villains though lol. I read the wiki page and prayed tbh.

- She's around her mid-fifties and is the Math and Physics teacher. She works to integrate known magical physics with standard math and physics and teaches such.

- Her wife is named Crystal (based on an inspo character for Madame Medusa) and they're Kyra's adoptive parents. This is a small nod to Madame Medusa having two pet crocodiles. Kyra kept her parent's names as a sort of way to remember them but likes her adoptive moms a lot too.

- Kore's name is a reference to another name for Persephone and is associated with not only 'the maiden' with the underworld as well.

- She loves shiny things and adores being dressed to the nines all the time. She has a small collect of pretty rocks and tends to decorate her classroom with various trinkets.

- She and Crewel get along super well as their personalities are rather similar. (Fun fact: Madame Medusa not only was heavily inspired by Cruella De Vil, but also served as an origin for Ursula's design.)

- She has bipolar disorder and does her best to work around it, sometimes having pre-recorded lectures if she's not able to be in person.

Daemon turned out to be an excellent husband, in the first days I doubt a little about his choice, remembering having heard various conversations between his mother and father about his rebellious uncle.

They described him as a cruel man who could not be trusted, he thought it was silly when he was only attentive, kind, and affectionate with her.

She waited until she had the sixteenth day of her name to take her to the marriage bed, some time later her first son, Gaemon Targaryen, was born, who Jocelyn considers to have a great resemblance to her uncle Aemond of young.

Just a year later Matarys arrived who was born with her mother's dark hair but the rest was all her mother, although she wouldn't admit it out loud she was a little disappointed that none of her children got Velaryon skin tone.

And now she was expecting another child

Something in her screamed that she would be a girl, even her husband thought the same.

She watched as her sons trained with her father, and she thought that she had made the right decision.

With the passage of time she only received ravens from her brothers, especially from Luke, apparently Daemon's daughters hated her as well as her mother, it hurt her to admit it but she had cried like a child when she read Those words.

After the death of her father, her mother remarried Harwin Strong, the real father of her brothers, he bothered her until she cried with anger but she also felt happy because her mother was finally happy with a man she did love. .

"My princess, a raven has arrived from King's Landing." Jocelyn thanked the old servant girl and took her paper into her hands.

Vaemond Velaryon was questioning the legitimacy of her siblings, and her mother was asking for her support in reaffirming Jacaerys' inheritance.

“Enough fighting, little dragons!” Jocelyn approached her children, “I'll have them run a bath, they're covered in sand.

Jocelyn called one of her ladies, asking her to take her children to her rooms, when she was finally alone with her husband she handed over her paper.

Daemon looked at it curiously before reading it.

—She expects us to support her after her horrible words, I don't think so

"My sweet husband, I won't do it for her, it's for my brothers." The young woman took her husband's hands, caressed them, feeling the hardness of her hands.

Daemon thought about it, stared into his wife's eyes and knew he wasn't going to win this.

"Then we will go to King's Landing."

Jocelyn placed a small kiss on her lips, Daemon rubbing Jocelyn's large belly lovingly.

—I suppose that it will do the children good to know the red fortress

Due to her condition they had to sail instead of riding on the back of her dragons, Jocelyn remembered her father throughout the trip.

When they arrived they were not surprised that someone was not waiting to greet them, Daemon was furious and Jocelyn had to calm him down until they reached the king's room.

When Jocelyn entered she felt that she could vomit, she smelled of death, her children also noticed it but she asked them to ignore it.

"Grandpa." Jocelyn walked over to stand right next to the king's bed.

"Alice, is that you?"

Jocelyn and Daemon looked at each other with concern.

—It's Jocelyn, grandpa, Daemon is here too

"Daemon? oh Daemon, my brother." Viserys began to sob.

He could see the anger, the worry, the sadness in Daemon's eyes.

-It has been so long

—I know, grandfather, we are very sorry not to visit you in these last years, we were afraid that we would not be well received after all.

—Apparently we are not, my wife and children were not greeted by anyone upon arrival

Jocelyn rolled her eyes.

"Children? Oh, what good news." They both took it as a good sign to introduce his children.

Jocelyn took Gaemon into her arms while Daemon carried Matarys.

—He is Matarys—Daemon pointed to his son in his arms—And he is Gaemon—Jocelyn caressed her son's cheek.

—Oh, but look how sweet boys will become great men, what is our future king?

Jocelyn brought Gaemon closer to the king.

—I can see it, he will be a great king

After Viserys had a coughing fit they had to withdraw.

Her name is Nguyễn Selena, and her Vietnamese name is Nguyễn Nguyệt Vân Liên. Her Viet name, Liên, means "lotus" in Sino-Viet 🪷

She is a Viet NB assassin with a calm and aloof personality, who's reserved and mainly keeps to herself, but cheerful around people she's close to. Her design is NB flag colours 💜🖤🤍💛

She has an interest in gardening (collecting flowers, plants, learning about different types of poisons), and fashion (collecting clothes, including traditional clothes) 💐👗

I love how Hika drew Selena's eyelashes and underlashes with the dots...

I asked Hika to draw TYL Xanxus' design since I felt like his TYL (Ten Years Later) design would be easier to draw.

Hika originally chose a dark blue BG colour for the both of them, but changed it to yellow and red respectively to make them stand out more!

The blue ones were nice, but omg the final versions Hika went with, do reflect their actual colours better. These fit them better! Matching eye colors (plus it makes their hair stand out from the BG more)

Since Selena and Xanxus are toned with blue/purple in Hika's colours, the new BGs have more visual contrast!

Hika was very accommodating with minor colour edits and revisions as well! 🙏

I wanna commission Hika to draw JuAli and IdaTatsu with my headcanon designs of them in the future 🥰💘✨

I feel like the KHR ani style goes for a much more generic art style, compared to Amano's unique art style.

For Xanxus' late manga design (Rainbow arc Xanxus), Amano improves the shape of his hair and makes it more wavy and easier to draw.

Amano has an amazing art style, and really detailed lineart and inking. She's one of the biggest inspirations for me. Her style was honestly very inspirational for me...

I started drawing everyday as a kid (at 11) BECAUSE of KHR, so KHR is very important and personal to me. I first watched KHR and read the manga at 11.

Amano's style is honestly defining to my style - It shows in the way I draw faces and eyes.

I'm not big on the KHR ani's art style, but I do appreciate what it gave us with the chibi interviews, character songs, etc. It's also cuz of the KHR ani that we (somehow) get endless KHR merch.

I prefer the manga designs, but I prefer the ani's colours for the charas because the KHR ani generally gave the KHR cast more skintone variety (when everyone was pasty in the original manga)

The KHR ani did such a great job by giving the KHR charas more skintone variety... Even pale charas in the KHR ani have different skin tones from each other.

Original vs. My Edit

I headcanon Xanxus to have tanner/warmer skin.

Xanxus with darker skin (olive skin in the KHR ani, and either olive or tan skin in certain KHR ani merch arts), literally just looks better from a character design perspective, imo. That's just facts 📠

His design has much better colour contrast with the ani colours. Like the black and red colours in his design contrast better with darker skin. Also against his blood/wine red eyes. It has more colour harmony and cohesiveness in terms of the colours

Xanxus with pale skin has less cohesiveness in terms of the colours

Xanxus, Yamamoto, and Ryouhei's designs just look so much more boring, pale, imo.

For KHR, I go manga design + ani colours + my own take on the ani colours.

Since I have a tendency to saturate colours with my own arts.

As a personal HC, I think Xanxus has a very mixed ethnicity.

My Italian American friend Feuri said Southern Italy and namely Sicily has a more mixed population.

The ani colours provide a good base for me to work off of for me to improve the colours :3

I do colour edits for fun. I like playing around with colours (editing official arts to see how the colours work together) to help guide my arts. I either do colour edits first or just immediately start picking colours for my arts

I usually hand artists a Drive folder filled with XanLena's art refs (including my own doodles) and write some notes on their design details since this makes things easier for the artists I'm commissioning.

Selena is Vietnamese/SEAsian with light tanned skin. She has black hair with a long ponytail that goes down to around the same length as her long front hair strands, and wears a white blouse with frills and a black seam with white buttons. She wears a black pleated skirt with a white line near the ends, and black thigh highs with horizontal white diamonds, and black doll-like shoes.

Since Xanxus wears a brown fluffy accessory, red feathers (that may be dyed red -> orange -> yellow), green strings with red beads, I don't mind if the artists I comm simplify these details.

So, whenever I commission artists, I ask for them to draw my HC versions! I'm very glad that all the artists I've commissioned have been very accommodating! 🙏💖

The modern remakes of old 90s - 2000s animes have such boring and bland dull colours to me.

I seriously fear that if they ever do a KHR remake or reboot, that they're gonna take away the OG KHR ani's better colours and make everyone look pasty pale (just like in the manga) just for "manga authenticity" and "loyalty to the source material" even though everyone looks so much more boring pasty pale!!! 🧍

Thank you so much for the kind message. You have such lovely art and fascinating characters. And thank you for taking interest in something that I absolutely love and am slowly getting the courage to show off.

As for my writing, it's so sporadic and all over the place that I feel the full story will never be written, posted, finished in general. I have the outline fully done, like I know what will happen. It's the writing in details of the full story where I stumble. But I am trying to figure a way out to post just the bits and pieces I have. Right now I'm working on making a spoilerish free trimmed timeline, put out certain facts of my OC and fill out OC template to explain Rhagerys's basics at the very least. It's a lot of work, but I am honestly enjoying every minute of it.

As for the two questions you asked, those are two things that I have figured out (to an extent. Lore is always changing as a story evolves).

Rhagerys would say his favorite colors are black and silver. He wears mostly black and dark/deep purple outfits. He tries to incorporate both his two House colors in some way. He doesn't care to wear too much a broad color palette, unless it is for a celebration. Then he will let Rhaena chose the clothing and colors for him. Sometimes he does have a tinge of regret when he's wearing something a tad frilly/poofy. But since it was picked out by his sister, whom he loves dearly, he doesn't let it show and rocks it the best he can.

With all that being said, his actual favorite color is a light lilac purple. They were his mother's favorite flower, so he tries to honor her that way. Even though he doesn't own too much in that color. But he wouldn't admit that and just quickly answer 'black or silver'.

Here are some facts about House Belmore

Belmores are usually red haired (Canon by GRRM)

House Belmore's ancestral sword is called: For Whom the Bell Tolls. [Couldn't resist]

House Belmore has a history of fighting viciously in any battle/war they participate in. [I based/was inspired by vikings for how they are with their fighting skills]

It is rumored that House Belmore has giants' blood in their veins. That is why they are so tall. But they are only rumors.

Belmore men are usually very tall. Between heights of 6'3”-6'11'.

Belmore women usually are tall for their sex. Between the heights of 5'7”-6'1”.

Women born into the Belmore family that grow up short usually take after the family that married into the Belmore family. It's a rarity but it happens.

Men rarely are shorter than 6'2”. Doesn't matter on which side of the family.

As for his relationship with his family in the Vale. It was nonexistent for the first 12 years of his life since they lived in the Free Cities.

Daemon had made sure to keep Rhagerys isolated from his Belmore family. Mostly to keep his son under his influence (Daemon is a very selfish person in my story). Rhagerys's one visit with them was back when he traveled around Westeros when he was 13. That was the only time he ever saw his grandsire. His other relatives he met two other times.

In 134 AC when Rhagerys's distant cousin, Galayn Belmore's family, father and grandfather along with his wife and three children, arrived at King's Landing for the festivities. But it was too late, Daemon's claws were already too deep within Rhagerys for him to even care to interact with his extended family. He was cordial but did not care to expand beyond niceties.

Rhagerys didn't see his Belmore family again until 135 AC when his grandsire died. He and his father flew to Strongsong to reassert his claim and to have a ceremony for Rhagerys as Strongsong's new lord.

Then Rhagerys did not see them again until he moved there permanently in 144 AC with his wife and five young children.

That being said, they are beyond proud of having a Targaryen in their family.

Here's a little snippet on how they feel about him:

“He looks every bit a Targaryen.” Hector gestured toward Rhagerys. “But that Belmore blood made its presence known.” He admired.

Rhagerys bowed his head in acknowledgment of the compliment.

“How do you fair with the hill tribes?” Viserys asked.

“Ach, we do what we can. You kill some and then more come out of the woodwork to take their place. Cockroaches, the lot of them.” Hector said.

“The crown does appreciate what your family does in the Vale.”

Hector bowed his head in acknowledgment.

Which got a nod of recognition from the king. “Was murdered by a mountain tribe as he left for his own home after visiting his family in the Eyrie. Poor lad, just shy of his twentieth year.”

“Yes, that was quite the terrible tragedy. I was a young lad myself, but I do remember the news of his murder making its way to King’s Landing.” Viserys agreed.

Rhagerys idly nodded his head, he heard the story plenty times of his great grandsire’s, Rynard Arryn, unjustly demise at the hands of the barbaric tribes that occupied the mountains of the Vale. He heard it, he made sure he remembered it, and he carried it with him while he was in the Vale five years ago.

Aemond slightly turned his head to look towards Rhagerys. He honestly did not know much of the history of Rhagerys’s mother’s family. Just the basics that the Maesters taught him during his lessons when he was younger. He had no reason to ever delve further on their history. Now a part of he wanted to.

“Thankfully he was able to father a child with his wife.” Hector continued. “Sadly she died giving birth to the prince’s grandmother, the late Lady Evayne.” Hector looked towards Rhagerys. “By the grace of the gods, he is here before us today.” He said with a hint of pride in his voice.

“Here, here.” Daemon spoke up.

Rhagerys slightly turned to glance towards his father.

Hector turned his attention towards Daemon and bowed his head.

“As well as the great love that Prince Daemon held for our dear cousin, the late Lady Igreyn. Their love is the reason Prince Rhagerys is before us. Why the Belmores are one of the proudest Houses in the Vale, if not Westeros.” Hector turned towards Rhagerys. “The young prince has made us all quite proud. We are honored to have him as our blood.” Hector turned back to Daemon and gave a slight bow again. “It is thanks to how you raised him. You must be quite proud of him.”

Daemon tilted his head in acknowledgment but did not say anything.

Rhagerys looked down at his plate, he was not surprised to hear nothing from his father. No acknowledgment. No praise. That was saved for elsewhere between the two.

25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?

Oof, this is going to be a long one. You did ask for an info dump, here I go. Writing it down, I'm seeing a pattern with my main OCs :/

Ly'rill (The OG)

- Design wise, the markings that she has now. Something that pop into my brain that went, "What if her markings are like Ammy from Okami? Like, only the ones who have true faith in beings like her can see her markings."

- They're hot-headed despite her looking calm, let's just say it took practice to mask their anger and when they need to release that pent up anger, she'll go to her domain and burn shit. Sometimes, Cathrin is more than happy to be in her line of sight (these two are horny for each other and her logic brain goes out the window, "Angry tiny woman who can incinerate her into non-existence hot.")

Astrel (birb)

- Her feather slowly gaining its color (I wont elaborate too much because it's still tbd). Notice that before I drew her with dark hair/feathers and now she had red stripes, yeahhhh. She used to colorful feathers before trauma happened when she was very young

- She can easily change a topic about herself to something else, and she's a great liar if she wants to. But, she does have trouble lying to people who she cares and has a genuine heart.

Quinn (bread boi)

- He's a fairly new addition, so I don't have much info on him except he bakes and really, what more can I add than this.

LEDD- As both a monster fucker and a robot fucker, I would be remiss to pass up this opportunity. Yes i would smash the space fish through its robot puppet and id have a great time. It may have repercussions on our friendship but it would be worth it.

The Dark- Yeah I'd get the worm in on this. Make it a threesome. It's only fair, they are married. LEDD and The Dark approach me from across the bar and say hey we really liked your vibe. If it drives me insane or whatever it's fine.

Astaroth- That is a doll <3 <3 The demon shit is a bonus.

Nautiloid- I would treat them so gently. I want to pet their sleeves and stare into their big eyes. And then maybe I'd slowly take it apart.

Viroid- Opposite of Naut. I would destroy them sexually and with no caution. I want to pull on their antenna and see what happens :3c

Falool- I think in practice she'd be too chatty for me, but she is Very cute. I wanna kiss her big teeth.

Heir- That big fish tail <3 Also I know what they have going on down there anatomy-wise and its one of my favorites (almost like i gave them that on purpose :3). They might try to kill me but I can work with that. I'll hold my breath.

Herder- They're a sweetheart and a gentleman, strong but knows when to be gentle, the perfect farm boy type. They'd take me to their farm and we'd lie down in the hay and I'd be like man its pretty hot here in the nether we'd better take some clothes off ;] but they don't notice cause they're busy telling me about the names of each of their cows. This makes them hotter to me.

Em- Robot :]c I like their little fit. Sad that their broken jaw would probably electrocute me if I tried to kiss them.

Masquerade- funny wolf gentleman yayy. I would like to watch them tear their fancy vest off and howl. I'm not sure how soft the shadow monster fur would be and that does dock points in my mind.

Tricity- I think it would suck, but of all the demons in this story, they'd be the most bearable. They're hot but they would play cbat during :/

CanCan- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. literally my hottest oc.

Boogaloo- They're not really my type, but I'd go for it. I'd poke some eyeballs.

Moshpit- PLEASE!!!! chubby emo boy save me <3

ShimSham- This is one of those where I don't know if they'd want me. But I'd shoot my shot. And if she accepted, I would scritch her behind the ears :3

Red- up there for sexiest sage in my opinion. The werewolf is the classic monster for monster fucking. There'd be so much blood involved. Most of it hers tbh. But I would let her bite me <3

Yellow- another strong contender for sexiest sage, just another brand of sexy. We'd first have to have a lengthy discussion on the ethics of her having sex in the afterlife when she was married in life. Is it cheating if you cant even remember your wifes face? But I think we'd come to a compromise and just make out a little.

Blue- I think their child-friendly programming would prevent them from being "sexy" in any classical understanding of the word. Also they would make so many funny sound effects and references the whole time. But I can work with that, I do love a robot.

Grey- If I was given the opportunity to have sex with Grey, I would NOT call it "smashing" for I have to much respect for her. I'd hold her like a delicate flower. I'd caress her like a work of art. Perhaps not the sexiest, but the most deserving of love and affection.

Ethan- I wanna climb that guy and put my fingers in his mouth. Let me pull those stitches pleaaase 🙏

Seth- That is Just Some Guy. Also don't think he'd be all that interested. But if he let me, sure, I'd show him a good time.

Pat- Let me at him. I'm destroying that thing. I'm bringing a seam ripper and I'm tearing his sawdust and hay guts out. Affectionately.

Rat- He has so many STDs. And normal Ds (diseases). Plus you KNOW he's just gonna lay there the whole time and make me do the work. That ancient demon pussy is NOT worth it.

Xiphoid- I went over this in the prev rb's tags, but no, I would not let "Dr. Knife Hands" near me. They are so very hot, but they're too used to robots. They would kill me. Maybe if they were strapped down and I could do shit to them, it'd be okay, but that's still a little risky for my taste. I admit my cowardice.

Heavel- Too much baggage. Also I'm not into getting electrocuted.

Charit- I think they'd try to kill me? And not even in a sexy way.

Leehom- Not into muscles :/ The outfit is cute and the hair does something for me, but just not enough. Not my type.

Zplend- I don't think he'd let me, I'm not rich or a highblood. I would be interested in destroying that twink, but I know if I put a single scratch on them, I'd be escorted out of the establishment.

Rhyder- Eh. I might just be projecting my difficulties with drawing her, but she really doesn't do anything for me.

Raven- Again, not into muscles. Also they're caked in dirt (not my thing personally). At least their hair is a little cooler than the other two's. Would maybe accept a hug from them.

Marvin- That is a normal human man, boring. Also he has some complex romance things going on, I'm not dealing with that.

Just- She would not let me, that is a fucking servant of God. I admit she's very pretty, but I think even if she agreed to it, she'd just berate me the whole time. No thanks, narc.

so the idea is essentially this magical world with all this crazy stuff happeing all the time and all these people with crazy powers and as a result the concept of superheroes are kind of made into a sport! Kasey, the peppy teen hero, and her family (aja(the tough quiet one), hutch(the funny dad one), and victor(the smarg inventor one)) are a brand-new hero team funded by this rich old man trying to build himself a cool legacy. Nina, kaseys rival, is a teenage demon employed by the villain Arkangel, who is using the games to accrue power and resources for her own mysterious plans. ok? ok.

She's peppy and athletic and super excitable, though due to her reclusive upbringing she's not super socially in-tune. her heroic persona is Wildcard, her gimmick is playing cards, and her powers include teleportation, enhanced speed and senses, limited flight, glow-in-the-dark freckles, and a large variety of seemingly random abilities.

hutch:

kaseys dad and ajas wife, Hutch is a pretty chronically normalguy. when they were younger they dreamed of being a famous musician, but these days theyre just trying to be a supportive parent, which apparently includes dressing up in funny costumes and fighting evildoers these days, and thats fine. they're kind of an anxious guy whose happiest when theyre working on something with their hands, wether thats cooking, playing music, or working on their old pickup truck. idk their hero name yet but their costume is going to be cowboy themed and theyre going to essentially be the bard of the group. no natural powers, except their hair, which gets pinker when theyre in a good mood.

victor:

resident mad scientist working as a tech guy for kirby (aforementioned rich old man that runs the team), victor likes to work on magitech and fancies himself probably the greatest wizard to ever live, ever. spends most of his time in his workshop building gear for the team and working on one of his dozens of pet projects. He's a shit communicator and arrogant as all hell, is prickly and generally bad at interacting with others, though hes genuinely very intelligent, well-intentioned, and often very high-energy when it comes to his work. And don't tell anybody this, but he's also technically undead, and on a sensitive parole with the "gods" due to his tendency to get fucky with the natural order of things. he's essentially working on borrowed time, with a lot of dubious machinery just barely keeping his body from completely rotting away. His greatest accomplishment, though, will always be aja.

my best friend and the most important girl in the world ^^^^ kaseys mom and the second most enthusiastic about this whole superhero thing. not alive nor dead but a special third thing. a tendency to get overwhelmed by her emotions has led her to be a pretty reclusive, quiet person. a little mopey and pretentious, she likes literature, photograohy, and sorting her cassette collection. she's also the most efficient in a fight, as shes kind of been using martial arts and that kind of stuff as a sort of therapy for most of her life, she likes the feeling of being in tune with her body and the amount of self-control that comes with it. she adores her wife and daughter, and has a bit of a contentious relationship with victor - though she wants to be closer with him, the gap between them caused by their past feels a bit insurmountable for them both.

as for the villains, mainly we have

arkangel:

arkangel was, a very very long time ago, a human alchemist and magican studying the Grand Cosmos, the realm of what are believed to be the gods. When plague struck and, despite her prayers, killed her young daughter, she swore to tear her way into the cosmos and bring her daughter back to the world of the living. That mission has not gone so well, and centuries upon centuries later Arkangel has lost the plot a bit, her magics able to preserve her body at the expense of her mind and soul, and in-between cartoonishly evil shenanigans she's orchestrating a plot to bring down the cosmos entirely. Despite her tendency towards nonsense and general gullibility, Arkangel is a sharp and often cruel woman who holds those in her employ under high standards with little regard for the opinions of anyone except herself.

nina:

known primarily by her villain name Prophet, nishkanona prorok is a teenage demon, having used a pact with Arkangel to escape hell and a doting, yet overprotective father to live out her edgy teenage punk years smashing shit and swinging cool swords around. eager to prove her abilities, Nina was involved one of arkangels many attempts to destroy the world, this one in particular involving drawing on an ancient and mysterious power known as the Comet to open a gateway to the cosmos and release the Judge, a massive cosmopolitan beast said to be the only thing capable of destroying an entire realm. the process failed, and the intense strain of using her body as the gateway injured her significantly. Her desperation to prove herself, combined with Arkangels refusal to accept failure, have refused to let the injury heal and given Nina a pretty major dent in her pride coming into her second season as a competitor.

morningstar/luci:

the luc1-4 project is an experimental copycat AI designed to mimic an opponents strategy and siphon their powers through the nodes on its palms, and was used as Arkangel's primary footsoldier and representative before Nina's arrival left it obsolete, and it remained in storage, only acknowledged for training excercises or occassional maitenence. That is, until Nina abandons Arkangel, and Morningstar is needed once more. but years of sitting in the dark have left it resentful and beginning to question its true purpose in this world.

THOSE ARE ALL THE MAJOR CHARACTERS I HAVE DEVELOPED RN...theres a few more late-game villains and supporting cast members i want to flesh out and some worldbuilding stuff i want to explore more.

AS FOR THE PLOT. well. its all a bit vague but i have the general structure so lets lay it out!

starting out in the status quo with K/A/H going about their daily lives in the quaint small texas town they live in when kasey gets a letter in the mail inviting her to professional league of heroics and villany (note: im gonna try and come up with a catchier name but im bad at names) tryouts in New york city in response to her video audition (i think it would b cute to have the opening pages be her video audition but idk). ANYWAYS obviously they go and they do tryouts, and kaseys nervous but she does okay, but every time she needs to use one of her powers on command she just cant quite get them to cooperate and most of the teams there write her off as not pro potential. except for this weird old man, stanley kirby, who is trying to scrape together a hero team with his legacy money. see, his granddad managed an incredibly famous and successful team, but when he died kirbys father didnt see the business as worth the cost and shut it all down, and kirby wants to revive that legacy. problem is, hes never done anything successfully on his own in his life and nobody has faith in him. but he has money, and he offers to take kasey on if her family comes along to round out the team because literally nobody else wants to work with him. They agree, and when theyre touring the facility discover that victor, ajas estranged father, actually works for kirby, as kirby throws money at any project victor wants in exchange for v developing any inane comic book tech project kirby sets his heart on. aja lies and tells kasey victor is her brother, mostly because she isnt sure how to explain the. complicated history between them. more on that later. anyways, kirby cajoles victor into agreeing to be on the team because you need a 4-person team to be eligible for the maximum amount of events possible. so theyre all working together yippieeeee.

a few months pass and they do qualifiers, a team-based event that decides the rank you start the season in, and due to shoddy teamwork and general inexperience team kirby comes dead last. thats okay, theyll figure it out! the first event of the season is the opening tournament, one-on-one hero v villain brackets to show the audience and judges what youre made of. see, heroism and villany are judged on a combination of skill and style. theres gotta be balance between being a good fighter and a good performer, flashy combos, witty banter, and showstopping signature moves are the kind of thing people come here for (think fighting game-esque). victor goes in the first round and completely wipes his opponent, knocking them out of the ring in two seconds flat by cutting them off in the middle of an opening monologue. despite winning and winning efficiently, victor gets a shit score because there was absolutely no spirit or performance at all, and the guy he beat actually gets a better score just for his flashy entrance. aja and hutch also do some battles and teach us some more about how the game works, but the other important one is Kaseys opener, because she's pitted against Prophet(nina), who turns out to be a deathly efficient fighter with perfectly practiced form and a Silent Sentinel vibe that bounces pretty well against Wildcard (k)s chaotic, bubbly energy. It's a good fight, and in the end kasey barely wins, something that is INCREDIBLY frustrating for nina, and the first spark of their rivalry.

a few more events happen that set up the range of the games, establish some supporting cast, ect, kasey starts coming into her own with her powers, theres a b-plot about her school life, aja and victor have some family baggage and drama ect. but the major conflict of this season is arkangel. remember when i mentioned she wanted to use the Comet, an ancient well of mysterious cosmic power, to summon the Judge, an ancient destructive cosmic beast? yeah she hasnt given up on that, but shes needing to change her strategy. see, the comet is mysterious and everybody has a different theory about how it works, but its known that it doesnt give its power to just anybody. according to legends, it only grants itself to someone of pure heart in moments of pure need, and according to some magicians it needs something of equal power to pull its energy out. arkangel tries a few different things to pull out the energy she needs and i havent quite ironed out all the details of that stuff yet have mercy but. Somehow, She Figures It Out and summons the judge and it starts wrecking shop and there is a big awesomesauce chaotic battle. nina runs away, just fully ditchihg arkangel, and in a moment where it looks like shes about to lose, arkangel stabs aja and causes some of her hero gear to backfire and . well she is dead. this causes 2 things - 1, kasey summons the full power of the comet and just completely annihilates the judge, reducing it to an egg (its a wishing star type deal, power bends to the users truest desire and kaseys desire was to stop it from hurting anyone, which leaves it in a harmless form. she doesnt want to kill anything :( ) 2, victor freaks out. remember how hes on parole with the death gaurdians? yeah well one of these spirits is his "warden", basically this creepy ghost thing only he can see that follows him around and criticizes his life choices and makes sure hes not, yknow, damaging the fabric of reality or whatever. well AAs whole thing is that she wants 2 tear reality to shreds, so victor makes a deal that the warden will lend him its power and in exchange he'll let them arrest her, and this works out, he goes full necromancer and wipes the floor with her in seconds. its awesome. she gets arrested and dragged to spirit jail by a bunch of creepy ghosts.

after that is the next major "season". in this bit we learn a lot more about the grand cosmos and the things that live there. theyre not strictly gods, just beings of a different realm with higher concentrates of magical energy, letting them get even bigger and even crazier than stuff on the earthly realm can, and a few of the residents (which im debating on a catchy name for, cosmopolitan or cosmonaut both sound fun to me) decided to use their power to kind of sheperd the mortal realm. some are predators that eat souls, others try to maintain balance, others try to keep up the divide between the worlds, some want to tear it all down. but the section our heroes are involved with fancy themselves universe cops basically, arbiters of justice to souls who defy the natural order of life and death including, yknow, people artificially inflating their lifespans through magicks and whatnot. this is all organized by a being called the pale lady [or aomething idk] who operates this big cosmic courtroom, which is where arkangels "trial" is held to kick off the season.

i say "trial", but the question isnt really if if shes done anything wrong, its more of a character thing, like, people she knew in life who were affected by her actions weighing in on if they think she was right or wrong. this is where she explains her sad backstory, and the big conflict here is with victor. arkangel wanted to tear the system down for the sake of her daughter, and, well. his pet project, the thing hes spent most of his time working on for centuries? it isnt too different from what shes doing. a little less violent, yeah, but fundementally... well. the trial continues on and our heroes return to earth with arkangel officially condemned to sit around in heavenly prison, presumably forever.

aja is still dead. this is a bummer. bringing people back from the dead is hard, its simply not done, but if anyone could do it its victor. he explains, though, that souls are just collections of energy and that after death, souls dont really "go" anywhere, they just disperse back into the environment. this process takes some time, but because aja was kind of a patchwork project and was never technically fully alive, he has no idea if her soul could exist without her body at all, let alone if it would last, or if using the same process he used to bring her to life would actually bring her back or if it would just create a new soul in its place. so hes sort of. stuck. and his special project? well, thats not ready yet. its so, so close, but he just doesnt have the power he needs.

he wouldnt, at least. but after the trial the warden offers to make him a deal. if he agrees to hunt bounties for the pale lady and act in service when hes needed, the wardens power is granted to him to use as he'd like. much more freedom, more power, a cool new form with like a crazy scythe hand that im super excited about and will eventually draw someday. he agrees.

victor uses his power to finish his project, which he swears will fix all of this. see, hes been working on a time machine.

time travel isnt really a thing you can just DO, yknow, time doesnt really work like that, its not a tangible thing you can touch and trace and go backwards and forwards in. so its not really technically time travel. its a much more elaborate form of a type of technology he'd been tinkering with earlier in the comic, a sort of holodeck-style simulation that creates simulations based on the users memories and desires. so basically he creates this dream universe for himself, and uses it to go back to a little while before he'd brought aja to life, waaay back when.

see, the first time victor did this, he was only 19. he knew what he was doing, but he didnt know what he was doing. he was going to create life, a spark, a new soul. but you cant create something out of nothing, and the process of bringing aja to life fully killed him. upon his death, in that brief period before souls fade away, he begged the pale lady to give him more time, just to go back and see his creation, make sure she was safe. and she agreed, but when he woke up, it was far too late. six months had already passed and aja was long gone. he assumed she was dead, until a few years later she turned up on his doorstep begging him to help her. see, shes horribly lonely, completely outcast in a world she doesnt understand by people who dont know any better except to be afraid of her. she wants a little sister, someone to take care of and nurture and be with.

from this point on, the story is never quite clear. neither of them like to talk about it, and the most we see as an audience is brief flashbacks, sillouhettes and vague implications. but it ended with two people dead, aja down an arm and victor an eye, and both with blood on their hands.

victor holds a lot of guilt for everything that happened, and hes never really been able to get over it. he only ever really sees aja as this kind of... not mistake, really, he just had all these wonderful plans for her and for the life he wanted to give her and it all just. fell apart. because he wasnt prepared. he knows he couldve done, and shouldve done better, and hes going to prove it, hes going to do everything right and shes going to be so so happy this time.

but its not really real. he can kind of convince himself it is, for a little while, and he can live out this perfect life with his daughter and husband and everything is exactly how it was supposed to be. but its not right, its not her, its not his family. hes not fixing anything by doing this, hes just wallowing in his guilt and shame and abandoning the real, actual aja, his actual kid who needs him to be there. thats kind of always been his blind spot. he loves her, but his guilt keeps him from forming a real relationship with her because he can only think about how he hurt her even when shes basically begging him to come be a part of her life.

he snaps out of it and comes back, to find that, whoops, he miscalculated something and its actually been almost four months that hes been gone, literally just dissapeared into thin air one day leaving hutch alone with a dead wife and a bunch of spellbooks they could never in a million zillion years hope to understand, trying to figure out how to cope. bit of a dick move. they talk it out. they bond. eventually they do bring aja back, and as a little bonus shes actually really, fully alive this time. thats that haircut with the white streak in it, thats Alive Aja. she also gets more special powers now that shes alive and can actually use her magics(ill explain this fr one day but for now i digress)

OH slight digression at some point around this area - probably after or as a b-plot during victors stuff, the judge egg transforms again into bucket, my adorable little octopus girl who i love with all my heart i dont have a picture on hand but just trust me shes so cute and swag.

after this bit the next season of the game picks up and we start to get back to kasey, and nina. kaseys been having a hell of a time through those last four months, with crazier new powers from the comet, crazy teenage angst and relationship drama, and crazy weird dreams. crazy.

nina, on the other hand, has been totally fucked. see at some point in season1, during one of the games, she allied with this other villain, a low-level grunt called Bruiser. its a battle royale type game competing for a magic prize that gives the winner a wish yadda yadda and after becoming friends with bruiser and winning she stabs him in the back to take the prize, but feeling guilty uses her wish to make sure hes okay. hes kind of been watching out for her since, as he just kind of happened to live around the same area of the arizona desert that arkangels base is at, and hes kind of a big brother figure for nina. so when she ditches arkangel, she turns to him, knowing she cant really go home. he lets her crash on the couch in his shitty trailer, and does his best as a loser 30something who doesnt get paid enough to make sure shes mostly taken care of. and he lets her team up with him in games so she can still compete, because, despite her injury getting worse and worse, shes still determined to prove she can do this.

over the course of the games, nina and kaseys relationship gets kind of explored in some cool fun ways and they get to start to be actual friends in-between ninas "i hate you i have to be better than you fuck you" complex, and this climaxes in a big battle where nina slips kasey a fusion ring (something used for an event in s1 because its swag) and they fuse to take down like a big evil robot. its an awesome fight, but. during the battle with arkangel nina had left before kasey channeled the comet, so this is when she really realizes just what kasey had done. and it pisses her the fuck off. the one thing nina couldnt do and kasey is whipping it out like its nothing? why? why her? nobody wanted it more than nina did. nobody worked harder or needed it more. so why didnt she deserve it? what makes kasey so special? its not fair. so she punches her in the face, hard, and truly and honestly tells her how much she fucking hates her. eventually after some more Events they have a heart-to-heart about it and nina opens up about everything, about her injury and how badly she fucked up, and mostly about the fact that shes been lying about... everything.

see, ninas been telling people shes this ancient demon princess with royal hell powers, but shes actually just. some kid. her dad is like the chairman of the city council in their circle of hell or something, and shes just his daughter. she lied to sound cool. hes overprotective of her, because when she was born he was told she was particularly fragile, and so he kept her away from a lot of the things she wanted to do, making her a bit of an outcast and when his overprotectiveness turned away from just "dont participate in bloodsport" to the kind of music she listened to or clothes she wore, she decided to just get out. she made a pact with arkangel that if AA could convince her dad to let her go to earth for a "boarding school", she'd be her servant and blah blah blah. eventually it worked and ninas been keeping up the lie for the past like, three years now or however long its been. but the thing about demonic pacts is that theyre not just like, a pinky promise, theyre super dense legalese and theres a lot of consequences for breaking them, and nina is being chased down by hellhounds trying to get her arrested for breaking her pact with AA, so she has to come clean to her dad. this results in a fun little adventure down to hell for K and nina and also, nina and her dad work things out. he tells her hes just worried about her she tells him she feels like he doesnt believe in her or support her, her arc about proving herself kind of culminates in being able to accept her limits and that "pushing past" is only ever going to hurt her, you have to take care of yourself if you want to keep doing the things you love longterm, blah blah art burnout sports injuries ecetera. eventually they decide she can keep doing the villain thing, but she has to do it like, fucking safely and stuff. frm this point forward shes an ambulatory wheelchair user because i think it would be fun and awesome

theres some endgame stuff but its all a bit fuzzy! AA is busted out of space prison by an even eviler villain who wants to destroy even more stuff (so much to the point that even arkangel who was totally onboard with "destroy the great cosmos" kind of goes "hey we cant really destroy the earth i have to live there" and "wow this guy is a freak"), luci gets to be a villain and have her little arc too, kaseys aforementioned crazy dreams and crazy comet powers build up to something, but like, this is all pretty rough.

theres a lot more details.like the actual games themselves and some of the filler stuff, sidecast, some cool episode concepts, some of the more interpersonal sideplots especially a lot of the ones with hutch and all the kasey normal teen bplot which i adore but dont fit in neatly to a more concise linear summary and are also again a bit fuzzy. ANYWAYS.

also one last thing nina is a skateboarder and if kasey was playing a normal sport and not This Bullshit i think she would be either a baseball player or a track runner. also aja gets a motorcycle and she loves it to death.

He later on reused the idea, but only to make his kids a dog, since they couldn't have a real one.

Backstory behind the killings:

The first springlock failure was traumatizing for him, ever since then he has been terrified of dying, he couldn't bare the thought of his kids growing up without a father. After the springlock failure, he started experimenting, trying to figure out immortality. He found something that worked, remnant. With remnant he was able to speed up his healing process, the more remnant, the faster it was. This started his killing streak, killing both children and adults, he wanted to gain immortality so much, that his passion for others faded.

The more he killed, the worse his sanity got, and the worst his sanity got, the more he felt the need to kill.

In this AU, there are no ghosts, once someone's dead, they're gone.
