Summary: In rural France, danger comes to the town of Épilogne, resulting in sporadic disappearances and murders.

Left in a state of confusion and hysteria, there is no peace to be had, even at night as a scarecrow with silver fangs haunts everyone’s dreams.

After a chance encounter between police lieutenant Dufour and pathologist John McBride in the town over, Dufour takes McBride with him to Épilogne, with hope that McBride can uncover the bloody mystery.

Eight for Silver

Summary: A town in rural France is threatened by a mysterious supernatural creature. Pathologist John McBride (Boyd Holbrook) arrives to investigate and help defend the town against it.

Atmospheric slow-burner that wasn’t actually that scary. Excellent gore effects and creature design, decent English accent from Holbrook.

OCs' story (except Iseksen he is a writer from another story) sets in 19th century, noblewoman is travelling to New England but got her ship wrecked on a demon island, got her jaw Homelandered & fixed by a survivor, and after the noblewoman wakes up with mild memory-loss, she searches for the survivor's whereabouts via journal while surviving against monsters,,,

kinda mindblowing that this was the orginal release schedule. like at first glance it seems like it would be so much better. I mean, the wait between qoaad & tlkof would be nothing in this situation. but the more you think about the more you realise we dodged a bullet bc could you imagine having to waiting through a release from a totally different series after lord of shadows 😭 plus the schedule probably would've ended up looking something like this -

like... qoaad promo.... during the pandemic.... 💀 also could you imagine reading about how Lucie successfully raises Jesse with basically no consequences and then immediately after that you watch Ty fail???? horrific

(also this doesn't include other releases that happened around these books - who knows if they would have even been written in this scenario)

The following day at breakfast, Draco was searching for the familiar mop of wild hair on the usual spot at the Gryffindor house table in an almost habitual manner, when -

"Potter," Blaise muttered, a strewn-over salt shaker in front of him.

"Where?" Draco asked, searching in vain for the raven-haired saviour. Theo was smiling.

"Well," Blaise began, "As you're so fond of blaming all your problems on Potter, I thought I'd give it a try as well."

Draco stared at him incredulously.

At that, Blaise simply grinned a handsome grin, white teeth sparkling brightly.

Draco didn't think could ever resent him more.

"Potter," Theo muttered when he dropped his quill and it went rolling under the couch in the Slytherin common room.

Draco took everything back.

"Potter!" Blaise exclaimed over accidentally spilling pumpkin juice over his favourite shirt during breakfast.

He hated Blaise.

"Potter," a daring Slytherin fifth year cursed knowingly over her potions essay, while Draco walked past.

He hated Blaise with a passion.

"Potter," Theo absentmindedly muttered during a potions class they shared with the Gryffindors.
