Tom Baker as the Master of Baker's End/The King of Cats

Back in 2009, Tom Baker returned to the role of the Doctor for the first time in years, for the audio series Hornet's Nest, written by Paul Magrs. This was the first of three series known as the Nest Cottage Chronicles, where the Doctor was living semi-retired in the eponymous cottage in Sussex.

Later, Magrs and Baker continued the story with Baker's End for Bafflegab Productions, changing the name of the cottage and characters and making the Doctor into a version of Tom Baker himself.

So who was he really? Officially the Nest Cottage Chronicles feature the Fourth Doctor, but he is written as transcending continuity and often sounds to be older. Perhaps this is a version of the Fourth Doctor who never regenerated. Or perhaps he's the Curator. Or perhaps Tom Baker was the Doctor all along...

I haven't had enough time to process this yet. It hurts.

I'm sad (and annoyed, and a bit angry and a bit wary, too) that Justin Trudeau just announced he resigns as Prime Minister of Canada and Leader of the Liberal Party.

Perhaps he has been oblivious to the extent of his caucus' discontentment; but I wish he could have chosen his exit. In almost ten years, he has done a lot of good for Canada, and some mistakes, too. (Mistakes he owns, by the way.)

And I can understand people being impatient to see real, profound change; but real profound change does not happen overnight, it takes a lot of work and some years to undo the harm of a decade of conservatism... (all the more arduous when you don't have a majority in Parliament.)

I truly hope that the next Liberal Prime Minister will win the General Election (what happened in Aotearoa New Zealand after Jacinda Ardern resigned and the current chaos of right-wing politics there makes me nervous) and that, in time, Canadians will be able to look back more kindly on Justin Trudeau's legacy and his dedication to the country...

I'm emotional about this, and maybe it's because the first thing I watched on telly when I moved to Toronto almost ten year's ago was this kind, generous, optimistic man being sworn in as Prime Minister of this kind, generous and optimistic country.

eyyy, my family made shepard's pie with fish too! the fish was in a creamy/cheesy sauce though, and it was generally referred to as Fish Slop. at first I hated it, but it grew on me ^^

HUH. well. that does not sound appetizing! but ill pretend to take your word for it! Fish slop!!

and here’s a little post of appreciation for bambi and flower, our true princess of the forest and our little bloom (my bambi was a girl). they were both incredibly lovely. they were my first pets in the sims, and when bambi died on thelo’s toddler birthday, it was the first time i saw death in the game.

they will be missed forever ♡
