I definitely think Helio has something to do with the corruption of Ankarna because they share the same domain. And I just can’t wait to have another reason te hate him

Hey do you think how fucked up it is that both Kristen and Buddy were sacrificed for the Church of Sol?
Kristen was set to be killed by the Harvestment and taken to infernal hell to start an apocalypse and free Kalvaxis
Buddy was brought over by his Grandfather who was working with Porter to set him up as a God of War and Conquer. He was probably directed to work with the Rat Grinders without actually knowing the full scope, only to be killed and given to another Deity.
Some twisted shit man

I think there’s something ironic about how one of the things Kristen was told about Helio and why she should come back is the idea that the bad things that have happened to her wouldn’t have happened if she’d stayed Helio’s chosen one.
But like the very first time she died she was still with Helio. Through most of season one despite her questioning her faith she was with Helio. Some of the worst moments of her life happened in the name of Helio. Her parents essentially kicked her out and kind of disowned her in the name of Helio. Her own coach tried to kill her in the name of Helio. While she was still with Helio. If being with Helio would’ve stopped her from dying the second time then why didn’t it stop her the first time.
And like the most recent episode only proves that point because Buddy was supposed to be Kristen’s replacement, the new stand in chosen one for the salvation they longer have (because they chased her away. Because she wasn’t what they wanted her to be). And he still died. He was betrayed horribly and Helio didn’t help him at all, as far as we saw. There was no warning, no divine intervention on Helio’s part. And no matter how much the church or his grandpa wants to pretend he is he is no chosen one to be cherished and kept alive at all costs unless for the greater good. And unlike Kristen he can’t simply bring himself back from the dead.
If Helio was really all that great maybe he shouldn’t have let his two favorites die so horribly huh.

Literally in the first episode of Fantasy High, I watched an arguement that I had several times with my conservative uncles. It boils down to “According to the main message of your faith, our Divinity accepts everyone who is good of heart and kind - hating people for any reason is antithetical.” Kristen was arguing positive points using her faith as a guide
Which like - im not a christian or religious anymore (raised southern baptists and decided that if God exists he’s cruel) but the immediate writing off of everyone who’s part of a Main Stream Religion as Problematic really pisses me off, ya know?
Like sure, Wolfsong has waterslides and snowball fight and a lot of entertainement during a major holiday and then everyone is trying to figure out how they’re evil ehen they’re just having fun. Hey, my former church (Prestonwood Baptist Church and Benttree Community church in Dallas Texas) i have met so may deeply devout and scripture oriented people who are so incredibly loving and giving that they are leagues above anyone else I know, and for Good Friday they still had a wayer slide cause that shit is fun. Some of the most hateful people I know ALSO use religion as an excuse.
I get that organized Religion can house a lot of hate and evil (im writing my thesis on American Fascism and evangelical faith is a big part) but so many people who are Religious are just good people? Like the basic morals of the Torah+Talmund, the Bible and the Qur’an are really positive? Half the catholic church is socialist?
It just speaks to the religious illiteracy in America. Helio isn’t bad - the racist worshippers who through ‘as above so below’ influence their god ARE bad. Brennan says the Harvestmen are a fringe Minority - newsflash, the KKK is a christian group and the majority of christians reject them and find their message to be a spit in the face to Jesus. Why would it be different in Fantasy High if its supposed to be a commentary? I think Helio chose Kristen because he wanted her to free him from the racist status quo (he was giving her spells for all of freshman year supporting her against Sol up until Spring break if not beyond)

It just feels so safe to him. It feels so safe to be sequestered and small and hidden the way these shards of Kristen's goddess are. Held by someone who loves her, who saved her, who believes in her, who holds her gently and understands her like no one else. He's drawn by his doubts about his life and his religion and his parents, all things that he believes he belongs to, not that belong to him. The idea that Kristen's goddess belongs to her, but she also belongs to her goddess. A mutual belonging. Something he has never felt before.
The STRESS!!!!! THE STRESS OF NOT BELONGING TO YOURSELF!!!!!!! He's been taking Stress Tokens and you KNOW IT!! He's becoming more and more stressed and strained, and seeing the shards of Cassandra with his sister fills him with this very base, instinctual form of comfort, of relief. It's divinity within his reach, if he only allows himself to ask the question. If he only says 'Maybe I can belong to myself first and my family/church second.' He's never been allowed to ask any questions about himself except 'How do I serve better?' 'How do I be a good kid?' OF COURSE HE'S A FUCKING PALADIN WITH THAT MINDSET!
But in this moment, he's not thinking about serving those above him. He's not thinking of Being Good. He's not thinking of what his parents might do or say, or the fact that he lied to them about the gold, or whatever feeling attempting to proselytize to his party incites in him. He's just thinking 'What is that? Can I touch it? Can I see it? Can I be closer to it?'
I'm crying I'm fucking crying
so much happened this episode that was important on a grand scale but the most important thing for me was bucky applebees reaching out to touch the shards of cassandra; bucky, who clearly still loves and looks up to his big sister in spite of the things i’m sure he’s heard his parents say about her, who asks her questions because he cares about the answer, not because he’s trying to get something out of her, who is facing minor conflict with his party because he’s trying to convert them to helio (just like kristen did with hers freshman year), paladin of helio, reaches out to touch the shards of the goddess of doubt, mystery, and the night as though drawn to them, only stopped by his father’s hand
