today in the joys of looking for a new pet, found a shelter that sternly tells you not apply for an animal if you won't pass a home check without providing any information on what the home check would entail

#not adopting from them #home checks are an automatic no for me #one place i was applying clarified they mostly just wanted pictures of the litterboxes when i refused #which was weird but something i would have been okay with but i realized another cat would be a better fit anyway and dropped out #some places are genuinely insane when it comes to approving an application #found one place that wanted me to list three different references #TO ADOPT A CAT

oh imm gonna freak out. ohhhhh im gonna fucking freak out. so hungry but the kitchen smells like mildew and my fucking roommates dont clean their fucking dishes ever i left for like 4 days to housesit for a friend and neither of them washed a single dish and they dont even like RINSE THEM. they said prob late april early may and they were like 'oh you'll meet them beforehand so you can have time to prepare for them' and i was like see the thing is my entire house is basically geared around Cat so i think i'll be ready

#i just got this cat bed 50% off yesterday to replace the top of the cat tree i have bc mo absolutely obliterated that thing with her drool #i'm thinking of what i can do with the threadbare fabric bc i can't throw it away -- that feels so wrong #i'm already rearranging my bathroom to have room for two litterboxes #thinking of getting another surefeed bowl but we'll see what their eating habits are like #mo was such a grazer that she needed a sealed bowl that only opened for her #but we'll see!
