The advice Penelope gave Simon when he married Daphne and has been passed down to every new Bridgerton spouse since.
Never assume your Bridgerton is not that dumb, unless they currently have the brain cell, they see it as a challenge and will go to new lows to prove they are in fact that dumb.

Favorite comment on a Bridgerton siblings crack video that lives rent-free in my head
“They all share one brain cell and Eloise lost it to Penelope in a bet”
Thank you to whoever wrote that. I wish I could find it again so I could tag you.

The actual sexualities of the Bridgerton siblings if Netflix and the people a little too devoted to the books wouldn’t have some kind of heart attack:
Anthony: Straight. Terrifically, fantastically straight. Every cell in that man’s body is heterosexual, with the exception of the one brain cell he shares with his brothers, which has to shift gears constantly depending on who needs its powers most at the moment. Anthony is so straight it’s impressive he didn’t impregnate Kate just by looking at her. Which is not a straight trait. It’s not an anybody trait, it’s literally fucking impossible, but if anyone could do it it’s those two.
Benedict: Bisexual as fuck. I would say pansexual but who taught this man how to sit in chairs?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This motherfucker is so bisexual he kind of hit on his own brother ten minutes into the new season. He is an absolute disaster of a human being. He has no idea if he’s flirting with 95% of the people he’s flirting with. Bi. As. Fuck.
Colin: Fluid. “Tracing freckles with your fingertips,” my ass. That man traveled to seventeen cities in a handful of months presumably banging anyone who sat still long enough. That said, I think if asked, he’d tell you whatever sexuality you wanted to hear. Or whatever he was feeling at the time. Or whatever sexuality he has on his itinerary for when he’s in Cyprus. Who gives a shit? He’ll be leaving in two weeks. Sure, whatever, I’m straight today, but don’t place any bets on Tuesday.
Daphne: Just a smidge bisexual. On the Kinsey scale, there’s just a scintilla of wiggle time between Simon and, like, that maid she made out with one time.
Eloise: Lesbian. Oh, she’s so into girls. That’s not to say that her future husband (here unnamed for book spoiler reasons) is not a perfectly lovely person who’s fantastic in bed. But also, she’s a lesbian. If she were alive today, she and Cressida would have been dating for six months before she realized that when you move in with a woman, share the same bed, and sometimes have sex together, you’re probably dating. Or delusional. Or both! These ARE the Bridgertons, after all.
Francesca: Demisexual. Introvert, on the spectrum, call her what you will, but Francesca’s only having sex with you if you dig past her hyperfixation with her pianoforte and correctly interpret her silence into English.
Gregory: Asexual. Only because it makes his ending in the books even funnier.
Hyacinth: Omnisexual. That woman will try ANYTHING. An. Y. Thing. Hyacinth likes a challenge. And she also likes to BE the challenge, which makes for an interesting dating life. Yes, yes, she’ll marry a cis straight guy eventually, but until she is the Jack Harkness of Mayfair and may God have mercy on whoever tries to stop her.

The Bridgerton brothers and how often they possess the eight family brain cells
Anthony: Most of the time he has two or three brain cells, and sometimes he has four of them. Unfortunately, the two brain cells he always possesses have developed a resistance to the other Bridgerton brain cells' deadly allergy to emotions by completely avoiding the entire concept of emotions, which sometimes causes problems.
Benedict: In the standard mode, he shares a third of a brain cell with Colin, and is entirely dedicated to art. But sometimes he has a whole brain cell, although this is usually a disaster.
Colin: Shares a third of a brain cell with Benedict, and is devoted entirely to writing, eating, and later in life, adoring his wife.
Daphne: Rarely holds her brain cell, but that's more than can be said for most of her siblings. Although she never possessed a brain cell that was not her own.
Eloise: She has her brain cell for three seconds at a time, to create an idea, and then the brain cell goes back to Francesca and she executes her idea without thinking about the consequences at all, ever.
Francesca: Shares with Anthony most of the family brain cells, but takes away from him the ones with the strongest allergy to emotions, so Anthony doesn't have to deal with them.
Gregory: He has never possessed even an eighth of a brain cell, and he will never possess even an eighth of a brain cell. Don't even know what it feels like to have a brain cell in your possession. pure moron
Hyacinth: Holds most of the time in her brain cell, but it is devoted solely to witty answers. Unfortunately, the brain cell in her possession shrinks to a quarter or disappears entirely around Garth St. Claire

The Bridgertons have 1 brain cell to share between 8 siblings, their Mum, Dad’s memory, two in-laws, and the next door neighbors. Lady Danbury has custody of it.
The Endless have 3 brain cells. One’s attached to Death, one ran away with D**********, and one is loaned out by Destiny if the remainder ask nicely.
The Targaryens had a brain cell but it deteriorated from all the inbreeding.
The Starks never had one but they subbed in some serious chutzpah and the recipe managed to turn out ok.

if you go into season 2 of Bridgerton understanding that all 8 siblings share one brain cell, everything will make a lot more sense. I say this with the utmost affection. These kids are dumb as rocks 😂

(pt1) Hello, I’m the Spanish gal again!!!đŸ€— I’ve read your headcannon of Edwina and I LOVED it! So sweet and cute and JUST RIGHT TO THE FEELS I didn’t expect less from Auntie Eddie. Those sisters love each other beyond measure and it is sincerely my favourite siblings’ relationships and dynamic in the whole series (both JQ and yours!). Ps.: I hate the word limit and having to send this in THREE DIFFERENT MESSAGES. 😑
(pt2) Answering to how I found you: first, it came your story in Ao3 and, then, in my insatiable thirst for more Bridgerton in Tumblr, your profile kinda popped up. (Yep, I have got a Tumblr profile, but I’m that kind of introvert and shy person that, even in the anonymity of this I feel kinda exposed
I don’t know if I make sense lol). So, now you know how I found you! (pt3) Since your headcannons and stories are making my days (too many hours of study for getting a steady job + pandemic, ugh) as well as many others, I’ve got another question for you (if you want to answer, of course!): Which are your favourite stories so far in Ao3 and/or Tumblr?? Is there any story of multichapter fic that has got you really hooked on? (I’m not sure if this last question is even written correctly; it’s late here and my two left brain cells are on strike 😕)Anyway, I hope you’ve got a lovely day and you enjoy your ice cream! Love from this little corner in Spain! đŸ„°đŸ„°đŸ„° (pt4) (Probably I've sent you one of the messages with my "identity", so... if I did, I just say hello again!)
Hola! Hello! Hello!
First Of all! I’m so glad you liked my Edwina Headcanons! Edwina Sheffield is a truly underrated character in my opinion and one of the only characters in the whole of TVWLM to be like But you know Anthony’s in love with you right????? to Kate even though basically everyone from Mary Sheffield to Lady Danbury was thinking it. Just... superb! Secondly, I’m very glad to have you as a follower and if you feel more comfortable on anon feel free to stay on anon! But! if you ever want to come off, I promise I don’t bite You can also follow me on Instagram @catessofthehunt though I warn you, there’s no Bridgerton there, just selfies of me and my cat!
Okay!  I would love to share some of my favourite fics and I assure you, these are all far superior to mine! This is also not a limited list I assure you, if you’ve written an Anthony/Kate fic and it’s on Ao3, I have read it. I also haven’t quite figured out everyone’s tumblr identities if they’re even on here so if it’s yours come and claim it
strange, dear, but true, dear by Empressearwig- This is the very first Kate and Anthony Fic I ever read and as such has a very special place in my heart. It’s part of a larger series where the Bridgertons play in the NHL and it’s a genuine delight.
I know my sister like I know my own mind (You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind) by mimozka Edwina, Kate, and the title is a Hamilton reference. I was sold. I don’t feel this requires any further explanation.
yours to keep by turningoverwill (@mskatesharma) Anthony and Kate are cute, and sweet, and young, and in love. It’s great.
Couldn’t Say it To Myself by INTPSlytherin_reylove97  Does this not have us all hooked? Brilliant, perfect, amazing, Hands down the BEST modern AU and for superior to my own.

You know what I need? I need two generations of Bridgertons sharing one braincell.
Give me an Edmund lives au where he, his siblings, and his cousin are all teaming up to match make the Bridgerton and Rokesby cousins. Maybe they pull Cecilia and Felix in, too. They can bring extra brain cells. Meanwhile, the Rokesby siblings, Violet and Winifred, are all on the side line waiting to do damage control.
The Rokesby cousins were easy enough to match up. Maybe a few bumps here and there. But dear God Emdund! What is with your brood and scandals?! Move over! You obviously need help!
Just almost every time a Bridgerton gets married so does at least one of their cousins. It's intresting to see the smooth sailing courtships of the cousins and then the dumpster fire that is the Bridgertons.
They're might be a betting pool in the family. Felix is the score keeper because he's the only one whose last name has never been Rokesby or Bridgerton.

Swelter Weather  3/?
Chapters: 3/? Fandom: Bridgerton Rating: M Warnings: None at this point. Relationships: Colin Bridgerton/Penelope Featherington,  Eloise Bridgerton/Penelope Featherington(besties),  Bridgerton Family Dynamics, Eloise Bridgerton/Phillip Crane Characters: Colin Bridgerton,  Penelope Featherington, Eloise Bridgerton, Phillip Crane, Benedict Bridgerton Additional Tags:  Bridgerton, Polin
Summary: Colin Bridgerton is weary from travel and decides to spend the summer at the Aubrey Hall. While his initial plans were to avoid his perfect family, he ends up sharing the house with Eloise and Penelope. This is a Modern AU!
“You have to help,”  Eloise said into her cell.  She called Benedict early in the morning. As the sibling she considered herself closest to, she was desperate for his advice on how to stop Colin from ruining her life.  That was the only outcome she could see happening if she allowed Colin to get his hands on her best friend.
She could hear her elder brother yawn into the phone. “You’re seriously calling me to complain because you think that Colin might have been about to kiss Penelope,”  she heard him laugh.
“There is no think. If I’d not interrupted, they would have tainted the sanctity of the game room,” Eloise bellowed into the phone.
“Are you sitting?”  Benedict asked in the phone.
“Well
yes,”  Eloise said from where she was sitting on her bed.
“I’m going to tell you something and it might come as a shock to you,” Benedict started.  “I’m only going to tell you this because I love you.”
“What?”
“You need to mind your own business,” Benedict told her simply.
“Pen is my business,” Eloise argued into the phone.
“If that was true, you’d know that this was always going to happen.  You  can’t possibly just now be noticing the way they act with each other,” Benedict told her.  “I mean,  Daph, Anthony and I sort of have a gambling pool going about it.”
“You’re making bets over it?”  Eloise asked incredulously.
“This is why we didn’t let you in on it.  For the record, if it happens between now and Christmas Kate wins,” Benedict told her.
“Kate is in on this too?”
“And Simon,” Benedict noted.
“Did anyone at least take a stance that it won’t happen?”
“Nope. We’re all in agreement that it’s going to happen.”
Eloise glared at her phone.  They were all traitors. That was what this came down too.  Not a single relative was loyal.  They were all making bets, assuming that something was going to happen; something that she wasn’t sure that she wanted to allow to happen.
“I hate every single one of you,” she muttered.
“You love us.  Don’t do anything stupid.  You can’t stop the inevitable.”
“You wait and see.”
“Well if you delay it until after Christmas, I win.”
That was enough for to end the call.  Clearly she wasn’t going to get the commiseration or help she was looking for.
“Bye.”
“Oh don’t be a –“
Eloise clicked to end the call, throwing her phone on her dresser.  That hadn’t gone the way she’d planned.
--
Colin was remarkably quiet through most of breakfast and lunch, keeping mostly to himself. He wouldn’t have said he was avoiding anyone but he wasn’t quite sure how he was going to approach the conversation or if he should.  He and Penelope had always had a bit of banter between them and maybe things had escalated but it hadn’t crossed the line into action.
It had come as close as it ever had though.
If Eloise hadn’t interrupted, he knew he would have done something. He would have acted on impulse and he wasn’t completely sure what he wanted.  It was one thing to make moves on a stranger and another to do that to someone who he’d known since they were a child.  Penelope was his sister’s best friend. If he misread the signals, he wouldn’t be the only one who suffered because of it. As much as he loved tormenting his siblings, he didn’t actually want to do anything to damage them.
“I’m going for another ride,” he announced to them in passing, leaving them to their lounging and reading.
He needed the fresh air, needed to gather his thoughts more than anything in the world.  If he was out of the house he might have a fighting shot at it.
He was half way out the door when he felt a hand reaching out grabbing his wrist as if to give him pause. He didn’t have to look back to know whose hand was on him.
He turned back, eyes gazing on her face which in that moment was a mixture of apprehension and something unreadable.
“Can I join you?” Penelope asked him.
The smart answer was no.  He ought to tell her to stick around and hang out with his sister.  It wasn’t what he wanted though and he found himself nodding before he could formulate words.
“Of course,” he told her, forcing his usual grin on his features.
She released her grip on him and he led the way to the stables.  It normally wasn’t this quiet between them but he wasn’t going to push it and neither was she.
“I usually ride this one,” he said pointing to his horse as he went to place a saddle on it.  It was a large, healthy stallion.  He was fully prepared to set her up on one of the others.  They did have a few to pick from.  He knew that Daphne’s horse would probably be the best fit. “I’m thinking maybe Daph’s for you.”
“I was thinking I could ride with you,” Penelope said after a long moment.
Colin gave her a long look, thinking over her suggestion.  He’d raised his horse since it was a foal. It was sturdy, dependable and could certainly handle the load.  The saddle wouldn’t work for it though. They’d have to ride bareback.
“Are you sure that’s what you want?” he asked, removing the saddle he’d already put into place. “It won’t as comfortable without that.”
“I’m not so delicate that I can’t handle it. Besides, I want to experience your equestrian skills first hand instead of observing them,”  she told him.
He didn’t have to be told a second time.
“Let me give you a leg up,” he said before he helped her climb astride before he managed to pull himself up behind her.  He handed her the reins once he was secure before wrapping his own arms around her middle.
In an instant they were in motion. It was much easier to let her lead the show him give her instructions on what to do.  He had full confidence in their combined ability to do this.
“Which way?”  Penelope asked, her body shifting backwards against his slightly with each stride of the horse.
“I’ll show you my usual route,” Colin told her, trying to not to think too much about the jut of his body against hers with every movement. “Or rather he will. He knows the way.”
The stallion didn’t really require much guidance. It was normally fairly easy to zone out and enjoy the scenery. It was innocent enough at first. That certainly didn’t last for long though.   It was an impossibility when he was already struggling to maintain some distance and the very nature of this required a complete lack of it.
It was difficult to be a gentleman with her pressed against him. He had to lean against her, if he wanted to keep them both astride.  There was something pleasant about the closeness. The friction of her hips moving backward against his own was distracting, especially when she let out audible moans when he got bumped especially hard toward into her.
“You’ve got to stop,” he murmured close to her ear. There was a hint of warning to it not that he was really sure what he was going to do.
Penelope apparently wasn’t ignorant to what she was doing to him. He was pretty sure he felt her intentionally shift back against him, which earned a groan.  She was going to be the death of him. He was certain of it.
“Stop what?” she asked.  He could hear the mischief in her voice and it confirmed the suspicion. There was no hiding what she was doing to him anymore. She undoubtedly felt how hard he was.  If she was trying to tease him, she was doing a hell of a job.
“You’re playing with fire,” he growled, turning his head enough to bury her face in her neck, mouth ghosting the skin there. Her hands moved lower on her hips to at least try and control the way his hips moved forward into hers. “I thought you wanted to ride a horse not a Bridgerton.”
“The horse was an excuse to spend time with the Bridgerton,” she confessed, eyes closing and a breathy-sigh escaping her as her knuckles tightened around the reins.  Thank God the horse knew what it was doing and could complete the loop of the property to get the back to the barn.
“You don’t have to have an excuse to spend time with me,” Colin told her simply, honestly. Her words were enough to shame him into behaving. She thought she needed an excuse to spend time with him when the truth of the matter was that he loved spending time with her. He pressed a light, affectionate kiss to her jaw. He felt her shiver and he knew that needed to put some distance between them before more could happen. “You never have and you never will.”
Colin’s hand moved to take the reins from her long enough to get them stopped. He slipped down before offering her a hand to assist her down.   They were close enough to the barn and he could easily get the creature secured again.
“Do you mean that?” Penelope asked quietly, her legs still a bit wobbly and her mind still racing. She followed him diligently though, sticking close by.
“Yeah,” Colin said lamely trying to get his brain and body to behave.   “I like being around you
 even when you’re tormenting me.”
“That wasn’t my initial goal,” she confessed. There was something rather alluring about her red curls so messy and windblown combined with the innocent yet mischievous smile on her face. “I can’t say that I didn’t like it though.”
“I had a sneaking suspicion that you did,” he told her with a light smile.  He wanted to kiss her then and there, see what other forms of torment she could appreciate but he kept himself in check.  There was only so long they could hang out before Eloise would come looking. He wasn’t willing to tempt the fates on this.
“Maybe next time we hang out you’ll get to torment me,” she offered.
Those words alone were enough fodder to keep him happy for the rest of the day. He offered his arm, planning to guide her back to the house.
“Let’s go find El,” he suggested.

Wait, I just had the funniest idea. What if we reverse roles and made the spouses the scandal loving society darlings while the Bridgertons are the more reserved, new to London family.
So, instead of the Bridgertons permanently moving to London after Edmund's death, they primarily stay at Aubrey Hall, wanting to be closer to their father. They do their own thing out there, not bothering anyone. A charming family who mainly keeps to themselves.
Meanwhile back in London instead of hiding or running away at their family members'/society's mistreatment of them Simon, Sophie, Phillip, Penelope, Gareth, and Lucy said alright bet bitch I'm about to be your worst societal nightmare. Kate and Michael join in as the ride or dies.
Edwina, Felicity, and possibly Posy are the younger siblings that came along one time because big sis was on baby sitting duty, then immediately surprised adopted by the rest of the group. They behave for the most part but are highly ammused/entertained by their siblings' antics with their friends.
Like the spouses old enough should have been forced into marriages with one another already with how often they skirt around or outright break rules of proprietary. But the spouses have more than one brain cell that they're not forced to share between them. They find technicalities in the system all the time and expose them when they purposely break the rules of proprietary. They do not care about reputation either, which makes the threat of it being ruined not their problem.
They also have societal den mother Lady Danbury in their corner who likes the chaos they cause. These brats are giving her free entertainment, why wouldn't she?
Then comes the year of 1815. With her three oldest daughters being 23, 19, and 18 respectively, Violet proposes to Anthony the idea of going to London for a season. They have tried to find matches out in Kent, but there has been no such luck.
"Just for the season," Violet said. "I'm worried we're passing up any opportunities by staying out here."
What Violet doesn't say she's fearful none of her children will find the love she shared with Edmund if they are to stay at Aubrey Hall. She's sure that even if just one of her children finds a love match in London, it will inspire the rest and maybe even create a domino effect.
Anthony agrees to give London a try so long as the others are in agreement. The others agree to try for a season. I mean what could honestly happen?
They are not prepared for the chaos about to enter their lives.
Upon arrival to the Bridgerton London House one of the first things they see is a group equal of men and women dancing in the street, and not a chaperone in sight. Perhaps they were performers? But what would performers be doing n the middle of Mayfair? Especially ones who wore clothes like the members of the ton. The group noticed them and all gave a wave in greeting.
A shout came from somewhere and the group ran off laughing.
During tea a few days later Violet brought up the strange sight to her old friend Lady Danbury.
Lady Danbury laughed. "I see you got your first glimpse of my favorite little hellions. I'll have to give you a proper introduction at my ball next week."

Ok so I know you said that you are following the books more closely with your Yandere Bridgerton au but if you were following the show plot line instead.... How would you explain Colin's infatuation? Is it a way to get Pen more jealous? A way to make her feel more attached to him due to the fear of losing him (like you mentioned is the best way to tie a bridgerton to you)? Whats your thoughts on it?
Ps. Sorry if this is bothersome 😅
No, it's not bothersome at all. But how close are we talking about with the show plot line? I know I've said a lot of my aus mix show and book, and there's kind of a reason for that.
But that conversation is for another post. Onto your ask my lovely.
If I was to follow the show plot more closely for the Yandere Bridgertons au I would probably never have Colin be actually infatuated with Marina at all. I would have him fake being infatuated, because he is suspicious of Marina.
His line of "who is that?" when it comes to Marina isn't because he's interested in her. It more has to do with the fact he has seen her entering the ball with Penelope's family. Some random cousin has joined Penelope's family for the season so Colin wants to investigate because who is this person that is now in close quarters to his nymph?
Now lovelies we must remember that even though they are yanderes the Bridgertons still only share one brain cell. Colin did not have said brain cell when he decided to pretend to be a suitor to investigate Marina. Also if Colin gets to see his nymph be jealous from time to time as he's investigating it's like an extra treat for him. That jealousy will make it so much sweeter when he finally does claim her.
When Marina finally decides to set her sights on Colin as the husband she will try to pass off as her babies father, Colin definitely knew she was scheming something. Colin didn't know what it was but he knew Marina was up to something and he'll be damned if it brings any harm to Penelope or her family.
It wasn't until Penelope tried to warn Colin that he started to piece together Marina's true intentions.
"Colin," Penelope called.
Colin stopped, never one to ignore his nymph. "Pen?"
"There is something you must know," Penelope said, her face slightly flushed. She looked nervous, and one of her hands was playing with the fabric of her skirt.
Colin felt his eyes widened, a seed of hope in his chest. He thought it would take him longer to get Penelope agreeable to the idea of him as a lover and husband. If his nymph were to confess feeling for him Colin knew he would drop this fake courtship in that very moment.
"Marina," Penelope said, before taking a moment to pause. She bit her lower lip. Colin had to stop himself from leaning forward and grabbing it in his own teeth. "She is in love with another man."
Huh, that is not at all what Colin was hoping Penelope would say. That does bring a whole new suspicion to Colin's mind though. Giving Penelope a flimsy, false, excuse Colin made his way to the library where Marina was waiting.
There Marina had tried to kiss him, and Colin had to stop himself from throwing her to the side.
Marina had tried to seduce him. She had tried to kiss him. She had tried to trap his away from his nymph.
Colin felt his fist tighten. His nymph's warning came to mind. This woman who tried to seduce him was in love with another, but she was desperate to marry. There was only one reason for that.
Marina Thompson was with child, and Colin was going to kill her for daring to put his nymph's family on the line for ruin.
Colin proposed marriage, Marina accepted. Colin began his plans to kill her.
When Colin announced his new engagement Anthony had practically dragged Colin to his office.
"What is going through your head?" Anthony demanded. "Why would you propose to Miss Thompson when Penelope is your soulmate?"
Colin took a deep breathe, he was expecting this. Anthony is protective over the Bridgerton soulmates just like he was of their siblings. The Bridgertons protect their own.
"Miss Thompson has a scandal about her that will potentially ruin the Featheringtons," Colin explained. "I plan to take care of that scandal before a wedding can take place."
Anthony nodded, now understanding. "See that you do."
Colin makes the suggestion to Marina to visit Gretna Green, after all accidents on the road happened all the time. He can also say that the young lady ran away.
The morning of, just as Colin was bout to meet Marina to set his plan in motion, his mother stood at the bottom of the stairs with a copy of Lady Whistledown.
Colin was going to kill whatever informant gave that blasted woman this info.
The scandal hits the Featheringtons, and to make matters worse Lord Featherington had passed as well under mysterious circumstances. The women of the household have no husband or father to protect them. Colin doesn't notice the glances Portia passes to her daughters, or the knowing glint in Penelope's eyes.
Daphne presents Colin the opportunity to openly confront Marina, while she searches for a way to get rid of her without cause of suspicion.
Colin plays up the card of a jilted man, and hurt for his dear friend Penelope. While he does this distraction he makes sure one of the servants has placed the poison in Marina's bag just like he instructed.
By the rules of society the Featheringtons have to go into mourning now that their patriarch is dead. Colin hates it because now he'll be separated from his nymph for a whole year.
Anthony advises him to leave for a little while, just unit the Featheringtons are out of mourning.
"By that time news will be switched to someone else," Anthony had said. "We'll keep an eye on Penelope until you get back."
Colin had thought about Penelope talking about Greece, and decided that is where he shall go.
At Daphne's ball Colin scouted for his nymph. It would after all be his last chance to see her before he leaves, and she isolates with her family.
Colin apologized for his behavior and not listening to Penelope's warning. Though Colin really wished to apologize for any pain he may have caused while pretending to be interested in Marina.
"No, you only believed yourself in love," Penelope had replied. That was not really true, Colin knew he was in love with the nymph in front of him. "One should never hide how they are feeling. They should declare it," Penelope paused. "Colin I wish to tell you something."
"I have something to tell you as well," Colin said. The hope was back in his chest, could she really?
"You first," Penelope said.
Colin wanted to insist Penelope speak first, he had to know. Did she have feelings for him, did she possibly love him?
Not getting another word out of Penelope Colin took a deep breath. "I am leaving. I begin my tour in the Mediterranean tomorrow."
Penelope's smile fell, and Colin wanted to gather her up in his arms. Sadly there was too many people around.
"It was you who inspired me," Colin continued, praying that this brought some comfort to her. That her words mean so much to him that they hold some power over him.
Penelope's eyes began to take on a shine.
"What were you going to say?" Colin asked. He needed to hear what she was going to say.
"I seem to have forgotten," Penelope barley breathed out.
"Should we dance?" Please say yes, let him feel you in him arms one last time before you two are forced to separate.
"I'm all danced out for the evening," Penelope said before darting off. "Good luck on your tour!"
Colin could only watch, despite the fact that he wanted nothing more than to chase after her.
Colin supposed no one could blame him when he picked up his quill and penned his first letter to his nymph. He prayed it would be one of many.
