HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.
(This doesn’t reflect my feelings btw I just thought it would be a fun quote to do)

Words have power
In dreams, as in life, and this dream woke me up this morning a lot harder than I liked, hard and fast enough that I actually remember most of the details, so I'm getting them down now before they fade.
CC: @su-whisterfield - you'll know the chapter I mean. :->
*****
In the dream I was at a convention, in the bar, chatting about how well or badly media represents certain situations.
Someone said the coffin scene in "Kill Bill" was one of the best representations of claustrophobia they'd ever seen, and there was nothing in print to match it.
I said, "Ever read the Earldelving chapter in Garner's 'Weirdstone of Brisingamen'?"
I got blank looks so reached into my shoulder-bag, pulled out a copy (evidently in this dream I had a Bag of Holding, whatever book I'd have needed was in there) and started reading.
Next thing, I was wide awake, covered in sweat, and when I looked at my Fitbit pulse-rate readout it had gone from a tagged low of 43 bpm to 85-90 in a single tick.
In retrospect I should have grabbed my phone and captured that image for the record, but I had other things on my mind, such as re-establishing awareness that I was just in bed, a bit tangled in the duvet.
Not underground in a crevice so small it was snug against shoulders, chest and back, upside-down in the dark with nowhere to go but forward and down into an unknown depth of water.
Believe me, being awake was GOOD.
*****
Garner has dismissed his early books as juvenile, and his "Bonelands" (the long-awaited sequel to "Weirdstone" and ITS immediate sequel "The Moon of Gomrath") isn't a fantasy but a modern, adult psychological novel.
I read several reviews praising it, and others which condemned it as a deliberate "oh, don't be so childish!" slap in the face to all the faithful fans who waited 50 years for a conclusion to that story.
YMMV. I haven't read it. That's also deliberate.
Yes, "Weirdstone" and "Gomrath" were written for a juvenile readership, but their writing is sometimes more adult than even their own author seems aware.
Words. Have. Power.

CLUB OWNER
The owner of ‘HELL BUNKER’ wears the name ‘Garnet’. A simple man, born as Falco Ritter in Cologne, Germany.
Coming from a middle class worker family, he migrated over to the NUSA to fulfill himself a dream of becoming an artist and of owning a place of his own to show his passion to the world: Techno(ise). Garnet’s lifeblood is not only his bunker and mixing music as a DJ himself, but also his event Chrome Chamber Rave and the radio station ‘HELL BUNKER.FM’ that provides the newest tech hits as well as an online and print techno(ise) magazine named “160+ BPM” that he releases every month. Garnet is an artist and self-starter through and through! Falco has earned quite a high cred and respect in the Night City raver business as his location with mainly CCR is unique compared to other techno(ise) clubs in the city. His vision was not only to bring European, especially German, techno(ise)¹ back to the NUSA, but also to combine it with other artforms and the desire of primal energy that lies deeply rooted within us. He used to be dj-ing at Totentanz years ago which gave him a lot of inspiration for creating HELL BUNKER afterwards. Today, being a quite known underground Techno(ise) DJ within the scene and his bunker, Garnet is still down to earth as a musician and business owner who loves to collaborate with other artists to create art that moves you cerebral and visceral altogether. He also does not shy away from acting as a bouncer for his own club. So if you may have asked yourself why he’s decorating himself with Gorilla arms: It’s for throwing out those who don’t behave appropriately. Falco doesn’t make any excuses.
SET LIST
Garnet's common set list for Chrome Chamber Rave, a fictional hard technoise event in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. He still deejays at CCR. His setlist is of course all hard techno(ise) yet he concentrates to mix it with more emotions and a touch of industrial, even some lyrics and tends to venture further than that. Each song is unique to itself and can be a true experience if you are willing to let yourself soaked in and let it touch your soul.
“Technoise may not be able to save the world, but it will save your soul.”
— Falco ‘Garnet’ Ritter
—
Cover artwork by me. Steal and you will be doomed. I‘ve chosen tracks only by one artist named ‘Roman Gehrecke’. This artist is the closest to what I imagine Garnet would produce as well. So I decided to borrow the music for Falco. Of course all the music belongs to Roman Gehrecke! There's one song at the end of it I see as the one that is always played at last so the audience knows ok after that it's done. This song is also not by the artist mentioned above but has a well known melody majority knows.
Recommendation: ‚Gefallene Engel‘, ‚Anderswelt‘, ‚Stimmen der Tiefe‘ and ‚Schutt und Asche‘ – best listened to via headphones and making time for it should you want to try to get soaked into.
———
¹ "Technoise and its various derivations dominate much of the German scene. If you're hip, you already know about Technoise. If not, listen up. Technoise is quite popular with the discerning young punk; it was popularized by Germany's own NetWerk actually, you've got your Overlay style from London, Jazznetic from Rotterdam and Echo from Frankfurt. In addition, there are people producing Frock (Fractal Rock) all over the place. The good thing is, Technoise is quite easy to produce. You only need a small computer, some software and you're ready to buzz. Those of you with a message might miss the political attitude, but you're missing the point. Technoise is strictly for partying, tripping and dancing. People meet and dance up to the runner's point. Maybe that's a political statement in itself, oder?" — Eurosource Plus – The New Eurotheater Sourcebook for Cyberpunk
#chrome chamber rave#about: garnet#about: chrome chamber rave#Cyberpunk 2078 – Pandemonium#cyberpunk 2077#cyberpunk#lore#rave#technoise#I'm so pleased to have created him#he rounds up my thoughts about technoise in the cp universe#so I didn't have to use Ryder for it and Ry can just enjoy go there listen to the music instead <3#but he's been part of it which I'll post with the next part#Spotify

day 3 of @theoraekenapperciation 's theo week 2024: rarepair! (a: theo & corey, or as i like to call them, bryken)
"Theo," Corey asked. "Do you know anything about the sunk-cost fallacy?"
He almost missed it. The quick, half-a-second glance that Theo made towards Liam's direction, three tables away, talking to Diaz and Sui.
Corey narrowed his eyes, but didn't say anything.
"Yeah." Theo seemed to snap out of it and focused on the textbook. "It's when like, something's been going wrong for so long that you can't give up on it anymore. Like, say you own a printing company."
"You've spent ten whole years on the printing company, yeah?"
Corey slowly nodded. "Where's this going—?"
"—It's going out of business." Theo suddenly said, cutting him off. He picked up a stray mechanical pencil and started pointing to stuff on the page that meant almost nothing to Corey. "Costs have been going up, profit's been going down, you're starting to get in the red. Following?"
"...Yeah?"
"But you don't wanna give up on the business." Theo tapped on the corner of a graph that had a gridded white background and a sharp, striking red arrow pointing to its bottom-right. "Why?"
Corey thought for a moment. "Because I spent a decade building it?"
"Exactly." Theo said, dropping the mechanical pencil down and sitting back in his seat with crossed arms, a little self-satisfied. "The sunk-cost fallacy is basically that: you've spent so much time, and you essentially can't lose any more, so you keep going."
"In hopes that you'll turn a profit?"
"In hopes that you'll get something." Theo said. "Anything to show that your time was worth it, you know?"
Corey had started to think that he wasn't talking about printing companies a while ago, but that confirmed it. His voice was lower when he replied, "Yeah."
He looked down and started scribbling some notes on his textbook and notebook as he stole a fry from Liam's open lunchbox.
The irony of the situation wasn't lost on him. Really, the empathetic side of him thought that this was the right moment to thank Theo for bringing him back to life, but the logical side of him knew that he still hated Theo. (Marginally less than a few months ago, but still hate.)
Looking back up for just a second, the Chameleon saw the first Chimera looking off into the distance, smelling of melancholy—although, at that point, it might as well have been his natural disposition.
Corey didn't miss the way Theo's pupils dilated whenever he looked at Liam, how his heart only ever seemed to diverge from its usual 60 BPM whenever Liam was around, how he constantly saved Liam's life, how ready he was to do anything for him.
He didn't say anything about it, but by god was gay pining such a penetrative smell.
Anyway. Corey looked back down and scribbled the words, putting extra effort into something you know is gonna go wrong on his page. Totally not about the guy who was sitting right across from him. He also flipped over to the last page of his notebook and quickly wrote, theo, liam, sunk-cost fallacy before flipping it back to the page he had been taking notes on.
He'd have to find a way to fix that.
this is actually an excerpt from a future chapter of my 6b rewrite longfic come back down to my knees! watch out for it 👀 (idk when it'll be ready)

HELLO, ITS CHRIXYTY FROM AO3!!!! i decided to make a tumblr account just so i can interact with you on here :3 why? because i can. dont question me. i do strange things sometimes. (a lot of the time) but dont we all?
(i was serious when i said i would stop hovering like a ghost and start interacting. you better expect a LOT of comments from me from now on BECAUSE I JUST NEED TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION.)
ANYWAYS CHAPTER 13 🙇♀️🙇♀️ THANK YOU FOR THIS WONDERFUL PIECE OF ART. THIS WHOLE FIC IS A MASTERPIECE AND I LOVE THE ANGST !!! (ESPECIALLY DAZAI ANGST 🤗)
like im not even joking no fic has ever made my heart pound every second i read it before...like literally nothing could be happening and my heart is pounding at 150 bpm like damn its so good you might give me a heart attack frfr.
chuuyas so dense but i can kinda get his point of view :( UGH the slow burn is just making me anticipate the moment he finds out dazai's his soulmate even more...(betting chuuya will punch dazai out of anger because he realises dazai did all those things to himself...and then he'll feel the pain from the punch and be 100% certain and will start bawling cause idk emotion overload?? i can imagine it but yea im yapping a lot haha)
OH AND HIS FRIENDS FINDING OUT ABOUT ODAS DEATH??? AHH
also it makes me happy when authors refer to the canon universe in their fics somewhere like when dazai called his friends his "little detective agency" like its a small detail but it just makes me happy.
okay im SERIOUSLY yapping way too much but i needed to get all this out somewhere. my bsf is getting sick of me talking so much grrrrr >:(
(permission to one day when this fic is finished print it all out and bind it?? so i can forever keep it as like a memento and pass it down to future generations so they too can appreciate this amazing piece of literature??)
wow i wrote a lot. if only i could write this much for my fic in such a short time during writer's block.
WAITWAITWAITWAIT. I NORMALLY TRY TO ANSWER THESE TOPIC BY TOPIC BUT BINDING. MY. FIC???? HELL YES YOU HAVE PERMISSION WHAT THE HELL??? THAT'S SO COOL??? if i ask very nicely would you make me one too..? I'd pay postage and everything 🙏🙏 i wish i had the patience to bind fics into books but it requires so much time and patience that I don't have 😭
My only thing I would want to say is that I plan on revising some of the earlier chapters where it doesn't quite flow the way the rest of the chapters do, so if I finish it before I've done that (which probably won't happen, but just in case), I would recommend waiting a little!
ANYWAY. making an entire tumblr acc just to interact with me here? ...that's dedication man🫡 I already said it but I appreciate EVERY comment i get so i will be waiting with baited breath after every chapter!!
Glad you're loving the angst tho, I'm having a lot of the time throwing dazai and chuuya into a washing machine full of stones every chapter. great character building.
The reveals are gonna be so fun I can't wait to write them honestly. I'm so excited!!! Still got ages to go tho, so strap in it's gonna be a while.
I ALSO LOOOOVE REFERENCING THE CANON WHILE WRITING. THE NYE FLASHBACK WHERE DAZAI THINKS ABOUT HIS CONVERSATION WHERE THEY WANT TO BE DETECTIVES. OMG. I WAS SO PROUD OF THAT. AND THE 'soulmate detective agency'.
Do not feel bad about writing a lot cause I loved reading this and responding and once again YOU HAVE FULL PERMISSION TO BIND IT ONCE IT'S DONE.
#love talking to people#please keep yapping in my asks bc they're always so fun to read#bsd#ao3 fanfic#soukoku#soukoku fanfiction#bsd fanfic#silas yaps

Not Patrick Kane related BUT I kind of feel the need to talk about it!
As you might know, I live in Montreal. I’m a Habs and Blackhawks fan. When the Habs picked David Reinbacher, I was happy! I didn’t knew the guy but aye YAY! Welcome here! And it made me so sad to see all the hate he got? It broke my heart because he looked like such a GOOD KID?!
Being drafted to the NHL is supposed to be the happiest day of his life and people ruined it
So me and my friend decided to do something to reverse the hate and the negativity. The idea was to get all the positive comments
And it worked out pretty well! We got 150-200 comments in less than 24h! It was July 1st and my friend went to her workplace since everything was closed to print everything and during our bus ride to Brossard, at the Habs training facility, we glued all the comments in the notebook.
Then, we met David Reinbacher to give him this awesome book. I promise he was so happy looking at all the comments, that was an emotional moment and in the end, we’re so happy we could make a positive difference ❤️

After this I had a lot of interview request it was a bit crazy but it’s been fun! If you’re curious and want to hear what I had to say :

Dean Spunt Interview: An Archaic Piece of Gear
BY JORDAN MAINZER
Of No Age drummer/vocalist Dean Spunt's solo releases, the one that's wholly a demonstration of an obsolete Aughts-era synth is his most personal and accessible yet.
A couple years ago, Spunt stumbled across the E-mu Mo'Phatt, a module popular at the turn of the century for hip-hop and R&B production, and found one for $50 on OfferUp. Playing around with it, and not having performed live in years due to the pandemic, Spunt jumped at a friend's offer to play a show and decided to bring along this new piece of gear. One show turned into a few shows, and eventually, Spunt was intrigued enough by the instrument to record with it in 2023, taking advantage of the 64-voice E-MU modules within it. Orchestra stabs, vinyl scratches, and vocal samples may be well worn territory for producers, but not for Spunt. "I was intrigued by the ridiculousness of it all," he told me over the phone last week, "because I don't make music like that."
The result was Basic Editions, released in September on Drag City. Though the songs are much more abstract than the high wire art punk of No Age, they're also far from the musique concrete of Spunt's debut solo album EE Head and collaboration with John Wiese, The Echoing Shell. For one, on Basic Editions, Spunt didn't deviate much from the source material--he's described his process as "using sounds" rather than "making sounds"--recording the Mo'Phatt into a computer in order to be able to chop, segue, and delay. "This record is very much in the box," he said. Though one can change the BPM of the presets, add internal effects to them, and modulate each of the four layers within the preset, Spunt barely tweaked the presets themselves. It was less of an artistic choice than a necessary one: Spunt didn't really know how to work the machine. But there's undeniable artistry in his presentation. On "Critic in a Coma", bowls whoosh, gurgle, and bubble; it reminds me of the sound effect most often used to denote time passing in a movie. Indeed, the E-Mu module used on the song was meant for composers. "I liked being able to pick out the things that might feel corny," Spunt said, noting that when presenting them in context of an experimental record, "You're mind's able to think about them a little differently."
From the start, the Mo'Phatt felt like familiar territory for Spunt, even more than just recognizing its "eerily familiar" sounds from the music of the early 2000s. It actually reminded him of working at his mother's screen printing business when he was in high school. Just like one could purchase expansion cards for the Mo'Phatt, Spunt worked with clipart programs, books with CDs of extra images. "If someone wanted a balloon logo for their party shop, you'd type in 'balloon,' and there would be 350 different images of balloons," Spunt said. "[Working with the Mo'Phatt]...reminded me of that." Spunt pays further tribute to this connection with the album art, an image of a box that the orchestra card came in. "It also seems like it's probably clipart, which reminded me of my mom's shop," Spunt said. "I like that there's a score on there that I don't know."
Embracing what Spunt didn't know also meant that he had to learn how to play Basic Editions songs live. "When I first recorded the record, besides recording into my computer, I didn't save any of the patches because I didn't know how to," Spunt said. He figured out how to do so later and was able to recreate the songs for a performance, having to recreate them because you cannot add your own samples to a Mo'Phatt. To Spunt's credit, live, he runs two Mo'Phatts with a delay pedal. "I'm pretty versed in [the Mo'Phatt] now," he said. "I can get in there and change things around. To get inside and manipulate stuff live can be a challenge, so you have to do it quickly. I have a controller plugged in, and with a controller, you can change parameters around what you're triggering."
Spunt performs tomorrow night at Judson & Moore, and hopefully, it won't be the last time we see him come through with his trusty Mo'Phatts. He already has plans to record more with it in December. "[Basic Editions] is not a one-off thing," he said. "[The Mo'Phatt] feels like an instrument I want to learn and master. It's an archaic piece of gear, but so is the guitar."

What's The Differences Between SLA and SLS in Rapid Prototyping?
Rapid Prototyping(RP) is a manufacturing technology that quickly generates models or parts. There are more than ten different processes, such as stereolithography (SLA), laminated object manufacturing (LOM), selective laser sintering (SLS), fused deposition modeling (FDM), solid ground curing (SGC), three dimensional printing (3DP_Binder Jetting), ballistic particle manufacturing (BPM), etc. Among them, SLA is the earliest and most widely used technology, accounting for about 70% of all rapid prototyping equipment.
Today we'll discuss the differences between SLA and SLS from four aspects.
The principle of SLA: use laser of a specific wavelength to solidify the resin.
The material of SLA is the category of resin.
The characteristics of SLA:
1. Stereolithography is the earliest rapid prototyping process, with high maturity and time-tested. 2. The prototype is made directly from the CAD digital model, with fast processing speed, short production cycle, and no need for cutting tools and molds. 3. It can process prototypes and molds with complex structures or difficult to form using traditional means. 4. Make CAD digital models intuitive and reduce the cost of error repair. 5. Provide samples for experiments can verify and check the results of computer simulation calculations. 6. It can be operated online and remotely controlled, which is conducive to production automation.
The disadvantages of SLA:
1. The SLA system is expensive to build, use and maintain. 2. The SLA system is a precision device that operates liquids and has strict requirements on the working environment. 3. Most molded parts are made of resin, which has limited strength, rigidity and heat resistance, and is not conducive to long-term storage.
The principle of SLS: heat the powder sintered to near melting point of the material and then add laser energy to sinter it.
The material of SLS is nylon and various materials and mixed materials.
The characteristics of SLS:
1. A variety of materials can be used. In principle, this method can use any powder material that reduces viscosity when heated, and can produce any shape through materials or various types of coated particles containing binders to meet different needs. 2. The manufacturing process is relatively simple. Since a variety of materials can be used, the selective laser sintering process can directly produce complex-shaped prototypes, cavity mold three-dimensional components or parts and tools according to the raw materials used. 3. No support structure is required. The overhanging layers that appear during the lamination process can be supported directly by the unsintered powder. 4. High material utilization rate. Since the process does not require a support structure, most of the powders used in the SLS process are relatively cheap, so the cost of the SLS model is relatively low. 5. Short production cycle. It only takes a few hours to dozens of hours from CAD design to the completion of parts processing. The entire production process is digitalized and can be modified and manufactured at any time. This feature makes it particularly suitable for the development of new products. 6. Combined with traditional process methods, it can realize functions such as rapid die casting, rapid molding and small batch manufacturing, injecting new vitality into traditional manufacturing methods. 7. Wide application. Due to the diversity of molding materials, the SLS process is suitable for a variety of application fields, such as prototype design verification, mold master, precision casting investment, casting shell and core, etc.
The disadvantages of SLS:
1. Rough surface. Since the raw material of SLS process are in powder form, the prototype is built by melting the powder layer by layer through heating. Therefore, strictly speaking, the surface quality of the prototype is not good enough as in powder form. 2. Polymer materials or powder particles generally emit odorous gases during laser sintering and melting. 3. Sometimes more complicated auxiliary processes are required. SLS technology varies depending on the materials used, and sometimes more complicated auxiliary processes are required, such as preheating the raw materials for a long time, cleaning the surface powder of the model after the modeling is completed, etc.
The advantage of RP prototype is its rapidity, but it is mainly formed by stacking technology, so RP prototype is generally relatively rough, and has centain requirements on the wall thickness of the product. For example, if the wall thickness is too thin, it cannot be produced.

Week 10 tech class: Ai ;(
I DONT LIKE AI
I COULD EASILY SPREAD SO MUCH INFORMATION
BUT I MUST EVOLVE WHEN THIS AGE OF TECHNOLOGY WILL ADVANCE BEYOND ME
I MUSNT BE LEFT IN THE DUST
BUT I HATE IT
HATE. HATE.
ill play that game soon
ai 3d model maker (text prompt or image prompts)
i layered photos of asuka over a video synthesizer generated image to try to make something incomprehensible
I like the result.
messed up colourful balloon content aware generated asuka face...
I also used the text prompt generator and just put in the web adress for the asuka image.
Used the grimes voice ai thing.
Spread Eagle Cross The Block, Death Grips ft. Grimes
Using the grimes voice ai, a video generator based on textprompts, viggle to make will naufahu do the gangnam style and an ai music maker of reggaeton x reggaeton genre mash at 200 bpm.
These ai's are gonna take our jobs!
Dalle mini grimes eating a corpse
this uploaded wrong but whatever
using grimes voice ai and inputting synth from online cardboard synthesizer
she just goes like wiwiwiiwiwiwiw
