In season 8, I think Bobby and Athena should stay with Buck until they get everything post-fire figured out and everybody thinks that this arrangement is going to get old fast for Buck but it doesn’t.
Athena and Bobby, on the other hand, need a break.
They love Buck like a son and they appreciate what he’s doing for them, and it’s clear that he’s happy they’re there, but he never leaves them alone.
He fusses over them both a lot in the beginning which is endearing until it becomes annoying. And it becomes annoying right around the time Bobby gets woken up by Buck taking his pulse one night.
They can’t even escape him at night because Buck stays up later than them and he wakes up earlier than them. He is always just there, loud in that way that you’re not really aware of when you’re in your own space. He is constantly waking them up on accident.
They try to have a at-home dinner date while Buck’s out but he comes back early and joins them at the table. They try going out on a date and he’s like, “Oh, hold on. I know this great place. We can go together.”
Bobby made a suggestion that Buck should spend some time with Eddie since he’s clearly going through something. He thinks this will get him out of the house, but it doesn’t. Buck just invites Eddie over to the loft.
Ghostfacers effect this, Ghostfacers effect that, The Winchesters said no we will not have these 70s characters say "friggin" because 70s but YES the present-day characters still talk like CW teenage girls
Anyways where’s Buck’s panic attack when he wakes up and starts to do his checklist to make sure he’s not still in the coma dream and he can’t make sure Bobby’s alive because Bobby’s in a coma of his own?
Anyways where’s Eddie’s grief when he goes to check on Chris at 4am after the shift from hell only to remember why he closed the door to his kid’s room and hasn’t opened it in a month?
Anyways where’s the scene where Hen is talking to her lawyer and says “please Nia is my daughter?” And Karen sobs because she was she was she was and how have they ended up back here again?
Anyways where’s Chimney spiralling because for a second (just a second) Kevin never died, and then he lost him all over again. Felt that death all over again?
Anyways where’s Maddie stumbling once, when she feels the weight of the wedding rings on her finger, because it feels so much heavier when she remembers her first marriage?
Anyways where’s Bobby finally telling Buck about the reason he learned to cook and breaking down in tears?
Anyways where’s Athena watching the footage of Harry punching that man and only seeing Emmet’s face superimposed over her son, where’s Athena yelling at Harry and calling him Emmet by mistake because despite sharing no relation they can act so similarly?
Anyways where’s Christopher waking up from a nightmare about the tsunami and not being able to talk to his grandparents about it because they can’t possibly understand?
Anyways where’s Mara struggling because despite how kind Maddie and Chim are they aren’t her Moms?
Anyways where’s Denny’s anticipatory grief because he knows what it feels like to have siblings leave him too soon but he still got so emotionally involved with Mara because she’s different?
Anyways where’s Harry having night terrors from being kidnapped and wanting to talk to May about it but not wanting to interrupt her new life?
Anyways where’s May’s guilt over having hated Claudette right up until she died?
Anyways where’s the ripple effects of the trauma they’ve gone through?
How do none of these bitches have hearing loss? They have enough head trauma and are around loud sounds like fires causing explosions that they have to have inner ear damage. Eddie and Bobby especially. Bobby’s been on the job for a long time, there is no way he still has perfect hearing after years of sirens, operating tools, and explosions. He has to have mild to profound hearing loss. And Eddie has been to literal war, with bombs and head trauma and heavy artillery. He’s been in close proximity to extremely loud sounds even more than probably Bobby. And you’re telling me neither of these idiots don’t have ANY trouble hearing? And the rest of the 118 with all of their sound exposure and head trauma don’t have any issues? Be fucking for real right now.
okay I know it was before he was retconned to be gay in canon, but my god Bobby "coming out" to his family as a mutant in X2 coupled with him being in a relationship with a girl he can't touch, just beautifully beautifully gay coded.
