#the best auction XD

FTH Fanbinding: "Kaleidoscope" by Silvergirl

Whew. This was quite the undertaking as I’d felt ambitious. @totallysilvergirl was the winner of my FTH fanbinding auction and chose one of her own fics, from a fandom I’m actually in (Sherlock). I’d skimmed her AO3 to see what fics might be her potential choice and had immediately zeroed in on “Kaleidoscope”. The title was evocative and the plot sounded intriguing, being a fix-it for the end of Season 3. Good-sized wordcount, too.

I was super happy when she actually chose this fic!

The typesetting took me a long time and I leaned very heavily into the whole kaleidoscope theme. I also decided to use different colours and fonts for the different PoVs.

This was also the first time I tried out a title page spreading over both pages – usually, I’ve only used the right page and the left one stayed blank, but I wanted to try spreading out the picture this time. It worked quite well, overall.

For endpapers, I chose this lovely purple Chiyogami paper. Purple has become Sherlock’s colour, in a way, and so it seemed quite fitting. I strengthened the crease with Schirting again.

Also, because the book had 8 signatures, I think, I sewed with tapes to make the spine more secure. It was the second time trying this and it worked really well!

Now to the case. Oh boy. XD

I had to think a bit about the cut-out design. I wanted it to yet again resemble a kaleidoscope, but it took me a while to wrap my head around how best to do it. I finally decided to make a stencil for the centrepiece and add some more elements without cut-outs.

I decided on the lovely shattered glass rainbow foil and am super in love with the effect, especially on the spine! I think it looks so cool!

I not only made SilverGirl’s copy but also one for myself. They’re very similar, just the endpapers and the foil on the cover are different.

I messed up on the spine title on my copy a bit. The fight with the foil is real. *sigh* But it’s not too bad.

Here I am back at it again with the Boueibu food analyses //bricked

I’ve been staring at the Melon Monster for years, trying to unpack what “the melon was just playing melon” and “melons are tops” meant because it’s definitely interesting wording, but nothing was coming up… until I came across a collection of articles and videos talking about the Yubari King Melon, a hybrid cantaloupe that has been specifically cultivated for its desired traits and is subsequently considered “the best melon” in Japan.

To be considered a top-grade melon, one must be perfectly round and have an exceptionally smooth rind. Upon harvest, part of the stem is left on top to add to its aesthetic appeal. [x]

Hmmmm don’t you look familiar!

As the Melon Monster alludes to, the Japanese fruit industry is an interesting rabbit hole to fall down, but this video offers a pretty good insight into the Yubari melon specifically.

According to this article, the Prince melon was developed in Japan and first sold in 1961, gaining immediate popularity in average households due to its low price. On the opposite end of the melon spectrum, the Yubari melon (developed in 1951) is exclusively grown in Yubari, Hokkaido and is so expensive it is considered a luxury fruit, which is in no small part due to its limited availability each year and sought after sweetness/aroma. Yubari melons are often given as gifts to show appreciation during the summer gift-giving season Ochugen and there are annual auctions where pairs of these melons regularly sell for millions of yen.

Furthermore, according to another article I found, the history of melons in Japan goes all the way back to the Makuwa (oriental melon), which Uriya gets his name from and which allegedly came to Japan during the Yayoi period (3rd century BC to 3rd century) via China. How prestigious! That certainly explains the choice of costume and no wonder the poor Melon Monster remarks that his existence is anachronistic when told by his peers that melon is just another fruit nowadays!

Here he is, trying his best to be a Yubari melon, cherry-picking what he thinks are his best and most interesting traits in an attempt to meet the expectations of others around him as someone with value, and the Battle Lovers immediately curb stomp every single one of his efforts by not only outsmarting him in the most effortless way possible (using the internet to solve his riddles and surviving his traps as though they were a children's obstacle course) but mistaking him for a common melon. The melon (Makuwa) was only playing melon… playing at something he could never hope to be… pretending that anyone could ever see value in him. But he is only an ordinary melon, so why would anyone go the extra mile for that?

[With this in mind, I feel like this monster must have sprung into existence as a result of a conversation about the popularity of melons similar to the origin of the Chikuwabu Monster (many thanks again to @intra-fiducia for the wonderful translations!! <3). XD]

On a side note, I wrote briefly about the paulownia box being a representation of how Uriya is trapped by his own anxieties and self-consciousness in his attempt to meet everyone’s expectations, but I didn’t realize that sometimes the gift of melon is delivered very cutely in one. So there’s an extra layer to that line about no longer needing to stay in one! Melon can be enjoyed in many forms and varieties, like the Battle Lovers said! He doesn’t have to be the best because the people who like melon pan, melon soda, and shaved ice will like him just the same for what he already is.

Sketches of a silly AU that I came up with while drawing wally (a drawing that I haven't finished yet *cries*)

I call it *drum roll* stitches au! Based on wally's appearance and how I basically put together a bunch of random stuff xd

Basically in this au wally and his friends are saved(? (Como se escribe guardado en inglés?) after the show is cancelled, with the difference that home never let wally be taken so for a long time he was the only one conscious. Some time later the puppets and other things from the program are auctioned off (like coraline's things) and bought by a collector. Now, I didn't really know how the real world and the world where the puppets are alive would work so I think it's a bit like the lego movie (for better visualization) after they are bought they are placed somewhere (let's ignore the plot holes, thank you) and now the whole neighborhood is "awake" again.

Wally being locked up and isolated generated some unhealthy coping methods and his appearance and behavior are not what his neighbors remember. for them, they just went to sleep and the next morning their little friend had completely changed. His once quiet, reserved, and well-groomed friend was now nearly nonverbal, starved for touch, and perhaps a little unhinged.

Extra facts (I'm really bad at explaining things, sorry):

• one of wally's eyes is lower than the other, this is intentional and comes from wear and tear over the years (and from that video where the wally puppet accidentally pulls out one of his eyes)

• Wally's clothes refer to each one of the neighbors (you will see it better once I finish the drawings that I still have in progress)

• wally has modified himself several times (that's why his feet and hands resemble barnaby, apart from the tail) but since he's not the best at sewing his limbs tend to fall off, especially his hand since he tends to pull the seams when hi is nervous or anxious (and yes, this is a reference to frankie from monster high)

• wally could be considered an unreliable storyteller, a lot of silly or dangerous stuff he does is born out of the thought "i'm a puppet, i'm not real so nothing can kill me" but to his friends it would be something like "oh god our friend has a death wish "

That's all for now, i will drawing other things for the au though I don't promise it'll be soon, my life is a mess right now so I need some time, that doesn't mean I won't post anymore, I'm just going to take a while.

I have! I got it very shortly after it came out, I had a really good time with it. I've been slowly replaying it recently with my partner, they were kind of fond of kirby just by proxy but since we started playing they adore bandee now and say he never gets enough screen time XD I'm glad you also had fun!

Whew, y'all coming at me hard with the morally grey stuff XD

Alright, again we'll break this down by Kink - Boot blacking (service shoe shining, basically), Gunplay and then the Auction.

Boot Blacking:

Eustass - Kid is, to me, quite the dom. Actually, I won't even hold back, he is a quintessential dominate. As such, being served like with a good shoe shining, shave, etc. is something he would enjoy. It's on the Sure/Yes in between for him in that he'll easily accept it, but he's unlikely to demand/initiate it. Kid's default choices and kinks are a little louder than some quiet service time.

Killer - Not quite a quintessential dominate, but still very much a dom, Killer would be more into this sort of play than Kid. This man works, and works, and works, and if you want him to sit and admire you and your work while he relaxes, he's all in. FUCK Yes. Hope you have a praise kink, cause he's going to shower you with it while you're pampering him. (He's all in for the whole shave and such as well).

Gunplay:

I don't normally combine characters, but I feel like Kid and Killer are in the same boat with this. It's a Rather Not/I dunno vibe for both of them. Look, weapons are meant to be collected and used, and even the best and most on point gun safety process can lead to accidents. That said, it's just a prop if it's been soldered or rendered broken internally, and they'd be way more open to the role-play of it. Closer to a Yes category.

One near miss though, one mix of up broken and functional, and it's never happening again. Toys in the toy box, guns in the armory.

Auction -- WARNING - CW/TW past this point. If role-play style BDSM Auctions with strong slave/owner vibes aren't for you, then stop reading and move along.

Auction (slave):

Eustass - Since our boy has at least canonically expressed interest in in-world auctions, I'm going to have to admit he's into the idea from a BDSM standpoint. (Personally, I see him as being all bluster regarding actually buying a human, but that's just me.) Kid's a solid Yes with the idea of a consensual auction. Those hub-dungeons and gatherings of kinksters come together to pull one off, he's for it. Maybe even puts you up for auction as well. Letting you get nervous as he holds off on bidding, or has someone else bid for him.

Killer - Within the same parameters as above, Killer's a Sure. He's not against it, and there's a whole series of little role-play things that can unfold from it. Less of a Master/pet kind of Dom though, and more of a - let's be fair - daddy dom <3 - the commodity/ownership vibe of the auction set up puts him off a little, so he doesn't get into it as much as he does other things. Plus, it's a scenario that's a lot of work on the dom's shoulders, with all the moving parts, and the man just wants to relax XD

I Never Want to Lose You

Bee dropped the Yeehawgust list in our chat and suggested we do something for one another, which sounded like a blast. All the prompts are so fun too, it was hard to pick.

So ya know, I looked up one thing for this and everything else was based off of western romance novels I used to read, so enjoy xD

Ship: Kirishima/Bakugo

Word count: unknown cause I typed it straight into tumblr

Warning: mention of wound/some blood, not very descriptive

While Bakugo isn't the owner (that title still goes to his parents), he is the general point of contact for the cow hands and the one that makes most of the decisions

Kirishima's been a cowboy working with the Bakugo ranch, aka the Rocking B Ranch, for half a decade now

There's nothing the hands don't trust Bakugo with, Kirishima especially. He'd never ask someone to do a task that he himself wouldn't also do and the men respect him more because of it.

It's part of what makes Kirishima proud to work at the Rocking B Ranch, and part of why he's stayed on

The other part is Bakugo himself

The blond man has a personality spikier than the cactuses they ride past on cattle drives that take them to the south, but the way he doesn't back down from a challenge, how he holds himself to the same standards he judges other by, his straightforward nature, all of that show Kirishima how manly he truly is.

And really, his spiky personality is tamed by the softest blond hair Kirishima has ever seen, sadly covered by a cowboy hat most of the day; by the gentle way he speaks to his horse, Caramel, at the end of the day as he brushes her down; by the curve of his jaw, the part that tempts Kirishima to touch, to take

He hasn't, of course

(He wishes too, often)

But that's okay. They're friends now, 5 years of working together, of traveling long, boring stretches of land only to bunk close by at night to share warmth has built up a bond stronger than anyone else's on the ranch.

That bond comes with some perks that Kirishima really likes. One such perks(his favorite really) was being the go-to person that accompanies Bakugo for safety and companionship on trips, like when they go to bull auctions or to scout new trails.

Just long stretches of time they can be alone and talk without worry.

(Bakugo confesses on one of these rides that he's not going to follow his parents wishes and settle down with some girl.

"That kind of softness ain't for me. Maybe I can't have what I want, but I won't fuckin' settle for something wrong."

A little piece of Kirishima's heart breaks that day at the reminder that Bakugo may not always be there for him, that the Rocking B could one day not be his home.)

They're scouting ahead in a gorge one day when it happens.

Bakugo is complaining about Sero's horse nipping at whoever walks near it, aggravation coloring his tone, while Kirishima laughs at him, knowing full well that Goldy holds a sour spot at him for not giving her an extra apple slice after dinner like Sero usually does

A crack rings out just as Bakugo reins in Caramel to better meet Kirishima's smiling face and tell him off for laughing. The small smile that'd been starting on the blond's face slides off as red starts bleeding through his shirt.

"Run" Bakugo says, his voice a chocked kind of whisper.

They kick their horses into matching gallops and speed back out of the gorge, sporadic shots following them for a short while before trailing off.

Apparently their adversary didn't care to give chase

Adrenaline and fear course through Kirishima's body, but he is able to check in enough to see that Bakugo has pressed his handkerchief to the wound to staunch the blood as he rides, relieving a bit of his worry

The campsite they used the night before isn't far away, a mile or two at best, and Bakugo leads them back to it without saying anything

It's the best option really, since there's a stream right alongside it and open enough that no one would be able to sneak up on them

Sliding off his horse with a pinched expression, Bakugo hisses in pain as his body jolts, an even louder hiss coming when he pulls the handkerchief away for a moment before pressing it straight back on

That more than anything spurs Kirishima into action

"I needta clean that," Kirishima says, dismounting own stead and dropping the lead, thankful that she's used to ground tying.

"It's fine, I can handle it."

"Bullshit, Katsuki, let me see."

"I'll be fine, shitty hair, I just need to wrap it."

Kirishima glares at him from under the brim of his hat and grabs his good arm, leading him to medium-sized rock close to the stream and pushing him to sit on it

"Said I'm takin' care of it, that isn't a choice. Not when you've been shot." The last part almost makes Kirishima choke, but he pulls himself together to grab what they'll need from the saddlebags

Bakugo has taken off his shirt and hat by the times he's gotten back with the supplies. His bloodied bundle of clothes is lying next to him, and his face looks a bit ashen, but he seems ready to fight more than die, so Kirishima takes that as a good thing

"Fuckin' bastards," Bakugo bitches, taking a swig out of the alcohol Kirishima offers him before going to wet a rag in the stream, "if we ever meet that no-good shooter, I'm gonna kill them."

Kirishima laughs and knocks his hat back, thankful Bakugo's spirit hasn't been taken away. The laughter dies in his throat as he pulls Bakugo's handkerchief away from the wound

The bullet went all the way through, thank god, becuase Kirishima's not sure he could handle digging it out right now. There's still a lot of blood and he has to take a deep breath before blotting at it with the rag, cleaning the edges.

Kirishima's hands tremble slightly against the wound. Bakugo doesn't mention it, even when he presses too hard and makes the blond grunt in pain

Bakugo is actually staring at him quite hard, almost studying as he lets Kirishima clean both sides of the bullet hole.

There's sweat beading along his brow when Kirishima pulls out the alcohol to disinfect it, just in case. Bakugo's hand shoots out to hold on his forearm at the first painful press, but it doesn't stop him in any way

The pressure Bakugo's using grounds him to the Now rather than letting him slip into the thoughts that plagued their ride back, of what could've happened if Bakugo hadn't moved at exactly the right time.

Packing gauze on both sides, Kirishima carefully wrapped bandages around Bakugo's chest and arm to keep them in place. It was pretty messy, and they really oughta get to a doctor, but it would do

Kirishima's hands linger around the wrapping once he's done, not quite ready to pull away. He needs to be here, needs to touch to assure himself that Bakugo would be okay

There's no rush and he's not pushed away, so he stays there until he can't bear it

A shaky breath echos in the space between them

With how close they are (Bakugo must've gotten closer because he hadn't moved), Kirishima doesn't realized it came from him until Bakugo's hand is caressing his face, wiping away tears he didnt know he was crying.

"I'm sorry," Bakugo says

Kirishima sobs out a laugh

"It's not— not like you meant to get shot. I'm just being weak."

Bakugo's touch is stronger now, more forceful as he guides Kirishima to look at him. "It's not weak to be scared or cry. You did a good fucking job. I'm gonna be okay, promise."

"But I almost LOST you! What if that shot had hit somewhere worse! Katsuki, I couldn't bear losing you. . . . You're my partner, I— I don't know what I'd do without you."

Bakugo leans his head in, blond hair mixing with red so he can meet Kirishima's gaze, good hand still cradling his cheek.

"Do you mean that?" Bakugo asks, hoping flaring in his eyes. That alone is enough to give Kirishima a shot of courage

"Yes. I love you, Katsuki Bakugo, from the tip of my hat to the sole of my boots."

With that, Bakugo's cheeks tinge a cute pink.

"Fuck. I love you too, Eijiro, more than anything. You're the person I want to settle down with, partners for life, or whatever it is Mina says."

Kirishima laughs, this one much brighter than the last despite his sniffles, and wraps his arms around Bakugo. "Close enough. Does this mean I can kiss you now? I've been thinkin' about it for a while."

"You fuckin' better, I've been waiting for over five years and a bullet wound now."

Squeezing his side, Kirishima replies, "I'm ignoring that because you're cute, but we will be headin' back to the ranch after this to get the doc."

Bakugo rolls his eyes and surges in rather than waiting any longer, their lips meeting a little harshly.

The sting pain is gone quickly though, instantly soothed away by the rush of love that courses through him and the taste of alcohol on Bakugo's tongue.

It's even better than he imagined

They only pull away when Kirishima's hands start to wander and one skims over the bandages, making Bakugo hiss.

"Okay, okay. Time to go back now so I can't hurt you," Kirishima says, grabbing Bakugo's hat and plopping it on his head.

"Fine, let's go home. So long you stay with me."

"Always."

I don't know why I made it this way, they were supposed to be basic descriptions but it's all done! xD I was also planning on giving Diamonds the chariot racing but then I already gave Spades the steam cart race and I didn't want any duplicate events so I went with harpastum. And due to the lack of information on harpastum, I combined it a bit with the ancient Greek game, Episkyros.

To succeed in Diamonds’ event of harpastum, you require agility, speed, and endurance. The aim of the game was to get the ball while in possession over the opponent’s defending line. These teams would face each other in a field divided by a line in the center and another line a set distance behind each team to mark the ends of the field. The team in control would kick or throw the ball between or over the head of their opponents to each other. If you dropped the ball or your opponent intercepted, the other team takes possession and aims to get the ball down the other end of the field. Due to the lack of gear, the game can get pretty violent with players getting a broken limb or other injuries. Players are able to tackle a player from the opposing team to prevent them from retrieving the ball.

A week or so ago, I posted a summary of a BSG fanmix I made a decade+ ago. I made two other mixes around the same time, and yeah let’s go ahead and give them the same treatment XD

This one is Heart of the Machine, and it is a (mostly) complete set of all canonical ships* involving at least one Cylon.

Full disclosure: this one, I’d found at least the tracklist awhile ago, so there weren’t any Surprises on here the way there were for Days Upon Our Knees. And...like...there are a few tracks on here that I could have done better, for various reasons, but there aren’t any that Confused me the way there were on the other mix? I more or less can figure out what I was thinking with each choice. And there are quite a few that are just. Perfect. (I particularly like tracks two, ten, twelve, and sixteen)

*So, I don’t have any of the notes involved in Constructing this mix--it was done for a fandom charity auction back in the day, i think help_japan after the earthquake?--but to the best of my recollection the rules were:

1. Canonical pairs only; meaning the couple had to have an Explicit romantic or sexual encounter On Screen.      1a. There is a pair that I apparently forgot--I haven’t gotten there in my rewatch, but I am told that this actually happened and wasn’t just made up for a TFLN blog so whoops.      1b. Presumably there was a Threshold for what counts as a ‘romantic or sexual encounter’; because there are a few I can think of that are borderline ‘was this just general flirting or could I have included it’ (and there’s another that...even if it met the threshold requirement (which I’m not sure it does) it’s. Like. I’ve built Corinne/Armistice Station Six up in my head recently but she’s not really. Uh. We don’t actually know anything about her so...yeah. but I like her and her name is Corinne in my head which is the main reason I brought it up lol)      1c. There are two others that technically count that I don’t remember being discussed; I’m not sure why Caprica/Head!Baltar was excluded (other than maybe redundancy?); the other is a Spoiler for late S4 and was doing something Very Cruel and Specific and I’m not sure I could have found a song for it anyway.      1d. There were three that were specifically excluded for squick reasons; namely Gina/Cain; Cavil/Boomer; and Cavil/Ellen.

2. The pair has to involve At Least One Cylon.      2a. Fairly self-explanatory, lol.      2b. Eleven of the twelve Cylon models are included here nobody loves Doral      2c. If we count by model, the Sixes (unsurprisingly) have the most tracks, with six (heh) total.      2d. If we count by individuals, the highest number (five tracks) is not actually a Cylon. Three guesses. The first two don’t count.

With those rules in mind, I ended up with the seventeen pairs listed below. The mix is structured in model order--the Significant Seven in number order, then the Final Five. I don’t 100% know why I ordered them the way I did, other than I think I started where I did for Alphabetical reasons but then didn’t stick with it for whatever reason. With one exception, for Cylon/Cylon pairings, I went with the lower model number. That exception made for an Excellent final track, though, so there it is. Within a model number, I went more or less chronologically in terms of when in canon the relationship starts.

...I think that covers it, lol. Lots of notes on this one XD Tracklist (complete with youtube links, as before) is behind the cut! (I should dig up the covers for these, I know I have them saved somewhere...)

1/one/tough!six - so immortal (international victim)      so this is probably the weakest on the list, mostly because...they’re a hard pair to find a song for, lol. i do think it fits, and i don’t think i could do better, but it is what it is. (also i named her vera for serenissima and the name has stuck so whenever i see her i’m like “VERA! :D :D :D” anyway i love her)

2/leoben/kara - on the street where you live (my fair lady)      tell me i’m wrong.

3/d’anna/baltar - dangerous game (jekyll and hyde)      i go back and forth on whether this one works better when it’s gender-flipped or not, but the vibe works. i do think i could do better than this for these two, but i don’t have anything specific in mind, if that makes sense?

4/d’anna/caprica - strange and beautiful (drew sarich)      yeaaaaah i cheated again on the ‘no repeating artists’ rule, like i did with the other mix. i think i did for all three mixes i made...anyway, that aside. this is another pair that’s hard to find something for, because we don’t get much that’s about them. it’s all about either the triad as a whole or the baltar/d’anna arm. that being said, i do like this song for d’anna/for what little we do get of them. (do i remember why i split the triad and picked two songs? nope! but i am glad i did; i might even--if i were doing this now--do three songs; one for each arm (other than the one accounted for Elsewhere) and then one for the triad as a whole)

5/simon/gianna - the next ten minutes (the last five years)      i love this song, and i love the...simon knows what’s coming And Yet. that whole sense of ‘for as long as this lasts’ has a Whole Different Meaning in this context and i think it’s beautiful. basically, i love them, and i think this song really fits for them.

6/caprica/baltar - measure of a man (clay aiken)      so i think this is actually one of the weaker examples on this mix. not because it doesn’t work--it does; it fits where they land at the end of the series--but because there are so many better songs for them. i don’t know why i settled on this one specifically, but i think i’d pick something else if i were doing this now.

7/gina/baltar - lithium (evanescence)      it’s hard for me to listen to this song without thinking of these two and their Extremely Fucked Up This Could Never Be A Happy Or Healthy Relationship dynamic now. not because it’s a Perfect Match necessarily, but...just...the Vibe.

8/lida/baltar - crash and burn (savage garden)      i don’t have much in the way of commentary on this one but i like it. it’s a pretty song, and it suits what’s going on in-story here.

9/boomer/chief - without you (rent)      not much to say about this one, either. but it’s a good fit for how they are in the back half of season 1, after he breaks things off.

10/athena/helo - as long as you love me (backstreet boys)      shut up it’s perfect okay

11/sweet!eight/gaeta - hallelujah (jeff buckley)      i think this works really well for the two of them (and for my best beloved most ironically named man in the universe felix gaeta in general, i think). i don’t know that there’s anything better i could pick, but i almost wish i had found something different? this song is such a heavy hitter, and i wish i’d saved it for...idk, maybe the season 4 mix i never got around to making, or a gaeta mix? ah well.

12/anders/kara - smoothie king (bowling for soup)      HOLY MOOD WHIPLASH BATMAN XD

13/anders/tory - when i’m down (chris cornell)      this is another pair that’s hard to pin down. but they’re definitely sleeping together during crossroads when sam is at his lowest and they’re being pushed towards activation and...i don’t know, it felt right? still does.

14/tory/baltar - spy (carly simon)      don’t really have all that much to say about this one either, lol. but it Works.

15/chief/cally - nothing without you (vienna teng)      this song is less Frantic and Scared and Angry than the moment it lines up with in canon, it’s more...sad. such a hard bit to watch, though, and i can’t say it doesn’t fit. ...also i know enough of the behind-the-scenes about why cally left the show that. well.

16/saul/ellen - grace is gone (dave matthews band)      SUFFER WITH ME. also, fun fact--the recording i have goes ‘take my heart/take my eyes’ (which. i’m pretty sure is taken Way more literally in this context than in the original lol). but EVERY SINGLE VERSION, whether lyrics or an actual recording, that i’ve been able to find online says ‘take my eyes/take my heart’??? and since i got my version on a burned cd and i forget who gave it to me i will Never Know the original source or why it’s different, lol. it’s definitely not because it’s a cover, i know that much for sure. his voice is Distinctive. (i do think heart-eyes flows better than eyes-heart but that’s a separate conversation)

17/saul/caprica - and so it goes (billy joel)      look, we all know this is a find-and-replace relationship. explicitly so on his end, implicit on hers (as upset as she is with the corporeal version at this point in the timeline, head!baltar is still hanging around sooooo). also it’s...just a nice song to end the mix on, i think.

I've been doing art tables at TFcon Toronto since the mid 2010s. I've had some good shows, some great shows, and not-so-great shows (like the year I was placed between Alex Milne and Marcelo Matere and across from Josh Perez. They all had crowds at their tables while mine was the void x'D)

My best year was when the voice actor for Blurr attended. Not only did he run the charity auction but he asked if he could sell my prints of Blurr at his autograph table. I got a cut of the sales and a free photo.

Haven't been to the TFcons in Chicago or Los Angeles. I'm too cheap to go to the states xD

The IPL auction is today, so instead of VK being gifted to Pat, it's Pat who straight up buys VK at a slave auction 🤭

To make it worse, VK is the ex-prince of a kingdom recently conquered by the huge empire Pat is Crown Prince of. VK has grown up in luxury all his life, surrounded by riches and splendour. He's had slaves of his own to serve him his whole life dammit, he can't fathom the fact that suddenly he's supposed to serve someone else! xD He does his best to make life difficult for Pat, trashes his royal chambers in a fit of rage once, hides his sword and armour, let's his favourite horse escape, and what not. 😆😆

But nothing annoys Pat more than VK's sheer incompetence at basic chores. He got the slave thinking it would be good to have a private servant to take care of his every need, only to realize that VK is not at all skilled in this area.

The first day after buying VK, Pat asks him to cook some lunch for him. VK first nearly burns down Pat's rooms trying to get a fire going, then he serves Patty vegetables that are charred black and unfit to be ingested by humans 😆 Then the next morning Pat commands VK to clean the palace. VK complains so much about how much his back and waist ache from bending over to sweep and mop the floor that Pat eventually gets annoyed with his whining and tells him to go rest.

Finally Pat just stops giving VK any work. The only thing VK is any good for is to act as Pat's pretty arm candy to royal balls and feasts and other celebrations, and then get bent over and fucked afterwards 🤭🤣

So another gem that is legally viewable for free on YT is The Raccoons. Distributed from the channel Run With Us Productions which is based on Run With Us the show's ending theme song. Recommended if you or anyone reading the blog is unfamiliar with it. While many 80s toons are a fun guilty pleasure, this easily is among the handful of content that is legit good.

I watched that one as a kid! My family had taped the Christmas special which apparently started off the franchise/series, and then I had followed the subsequent TV show as it aired. I don't think I've seen it since before I learned to read, but I have a distinct memory of the evil boss ant-eater business guy being in a date-auction and a reporter lady bidding and winning so that she could corner him with an investigative interview.

And for the record without much thought, I would say the best from the 1980s animation wise would be The Real Ghostbusters (The first 65 episodes before network interference), DuckTales, The Adventure of Teddy Ruxpin (Which is arguably a rare case of a serialized show not being a drama piece), The Adventures of the Gummi Bears. Most aired in the 90s, but maybe Garfield & Friends. The 1981 Spider-Man cartoon with similar music and designs with Amazing Friends, I want to say yes. Mostly was a typical cartoon, but did try for a recurring story with the Doctor Doom 5 parter stretched throughout and some decent episodes like Web of Nephilia or Arsenic and Aunt May.

Of course I also have to give props to the original Transformers, but I admit it might have some special appeal for me. XD Agreed taht Real GB and DuckTales were tops, but I have no recollection of a Teddy Ruxpin show. I'm aware of the existence of that Spider-Man show, and I might have seen an episode or two on randomly gifted or rented VHS tapes, but I had no idea it ever had multi-parters.

Im so blessed that I was able to see Voltaire live here in Warsaw in September 🖤

I bought tickets many months before it, before I got so sick. I was so scared I wont be able to go there, thankfully I was feeling better that day :>

For me that was huge thing, Voltaire’s music is one of my inspirations and stuff I listen to while creating, back from 2012 I guess ;p So happy I could be here 🖤

Btw, we kinda think about redoing our flat a bit, my dad said he would help us with making furnitures [my hubby’s dad could help too ;D]. My chest of drawers is starting to break, I have it for over 10 years, also  we don’t have set our space the smartest way when it comes to clothes [we literally have 2 chest of drawers and wardrobe for outerwear  and most elegant stuff], I have concept what wardrobe would work the best, we will see what my dad will say ;p

Lately I try to put my artsy stuff in better way but its hard when amount of stuff is huge and there isn’t so much space actually >XD Im trying to sell some of books cause that’s other things which overflows our space ;D

Welp, Im selling my Holy Grail, I own Hellbook in hard cover by band Helloween. Its super limited edition thingy, I put it in 2 FB groups for fans, we will see if anyone will want it for ‘buy now’ price or if I have to set some auction ;p
