5-15 fooor you said dragon argon is fine so royce and dorian, and fenris and adair?
she inquisits on my origin til i 2
Who is most likely to carry the other?
Dorian spends too much time at the bookshelves and Royce will pick him up and bring him along, one arm or no. No hope Dorian could pick him up though
Don't think Fenris would agree to being carried unless he's the one climbing on Adair first, rare thing. However I fully believe Fenris is strong enough to pick Adair up if he so wanted
What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?
Dorian likes Royce's eyes and brows mainly because it's so fun to watch him think So Hard about something (like trying to solve an astrarium) and then see his expression change when he figures it out. Royce likes Dorian's hands, nose and mouth. His nose crinkles when he gets pissy.
Adair likes Fenris's nose and eyes (they're pretty eyes, everyone can see that), Fenris likes Adair's whole profile and shoulders
What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?
Dorian got nervous and likely kept thinking of a way out before he got in too deep, Royce having been raised to hopefully become a templar or a priest was slightly conflicted abt having gay thoughts about a weird Tevinter mage everyone keeps warning him about. But he was cute. And nice.
Fenris freaked the fuck out and Adair felt slightly bad because he's a mage and Fenris hates mages... but he's receptive so it should be okay...
Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?
Dorian drops amatus multiple times in one conversation (as seen in Trespasser, though I wonder if he was just noticing Royce was pissed off abt him leaving and trying to placate him), Royce says my love/darling/dear/sweet well often. But always with "my" in front. Like when Dorian calls him a headache he will remind that I'm your headache, babe
Fenris says amatus, Adair has no clue what it means but it sounds positive so he won't pry. He says Hawke when mad. Adair says Fen when in private, love when sappy. His default mood is angry so that's when he just uses the full name
Who worries the most?
All the shenanigans Royce gets into certainly won't help Dorian's blood pressure, double that when he's playing with bombs, quintuple it when his arm tries to kill him so Dorian's overvigilant over Royce's physical health. But Royce also keeps an eye on Dorian's wellbeing (being a magister/archon can't be easy) and also an eye out for possible assassins lurking about
Hawke has the uncanny ability to get from the frying pan into the fire, and Fenris would have killed himself to follow him to places like Skyhold and Adamant. Adair did get gutted by the Arishok that one time so
Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?
Royce doesn't have a fancy palate, chicken nuggies for him please. Dorian makes him try new things (and not embarrass him)
If they went to restaurants they'd likely just eat the same thing as always. Though Adair would sometimes recommend other things he thinks Fenris might like (Fenris can recommend wines then)
Who tops?
Likely Royce but switches happen, oh you had a rough day at the Magisterium? Top me about it
Whoever wants to
Who initiates kisses?
Both as readily
Fenris more often, tugs at Adair's sleeve
Who reaches for the other’s hand first?
Royce, just has to make sure he's on the correct side, holding his prosthesis does nothing for him
Probably Fenris, strikes me as the more tactile guy. Also Adair respects that he might have hangups about being held all of a sudden/the lyrium is touch-sensitive
Who kisses the hardest?
Royce by a small margin, wants to take everything out about the fairly brief times they have together
Fenris, Adair is aware of being huge and pretty strong and doesn't wanna get too rough. But also answers equally to however hard Fenris pounces on him
Who wakes up first?
Royce probably, he's on the move plenty and likes to start early. Got workouts to do and bombs to tinker with. It's not hard to convince him to stay in bed though
I imagine Fenris is very alert after years of being on the run and gets up early. Adair isn't the most relaxed guy either but can sleep in a bit easier. Just shove yourself under his giant arm and go back to bed.

So, I’m going through my second playthrough and I’m having Engvall as my main summon. He took out a catacombs boss on his own while I was dealing with the skeletons. Granted the boss wasn’t an absolute unit of a boss but still.

Who all are my mages even. Let’s see.
Crista. Gliese. Doroch. Zelaya. Ginger. Jikiro. Svalla. I think that’s it actually.
I used to have more mage characters, but that was first rp group era. Amdzah isn’t one anymore since his revamp, even though he has arcane aspects due to dragon lineage. I killed Blanca off for good. Same for Nereza.
Rennay again I revamped to not be magical. Pogona pretty much faded out of existence when I revamped Amdzah since she was tied to him.

god. Vivienne really is just. that character. She is taken to the circle so young she does not remember what her parents even looked like and someone had to tell her. She wouldn’t even know if they were telling the truth. She is ruthless, the terror and nightmare of the Orlesian court. She almost weeps when you find the Tranquil skulls in Redcliffe. She hates drop waists. She is harrowed younger than any other mage in living memory. She teaches Bull the steps to the dance of the six candles. He likens her to a Qunari dreadnought that has half the enemies on the ground before he’s even reached the front line. Her accent’s not Orlesian. No Free Marcher can tell where she is from either. Is her original voice another part of herself she cut off? She enchanted a duke within one meeting and they scandalised even Orlesian society. She was good friends with his wife. They possibly fucked too. No can control her. She’s been owned since the moment she was first brought to the Circle. She belongs to no people. There are a dozen leashes around her neck claiming otherwise. She makes fun of an elven god for setting his coattails on fire.  She is on the verge of banishing Cole back to the Fade all the time. She can’t help but grow to care for him at the end despite her best efforts to pretend otherwise. She hates herself for it. She thinks caring makes you weak. During the first conversation you have with her unmasked as a Trevelyan, she begs to know if you also cared about her childhood friend, Lydia. She tries to import illegal fur into Skyhold. Did she kill everything soft within her soul herself or did the Chantry sisters do it for her? She is impossible to prank. Some might say she’s even better than Sera at pranking. She was pulled into the game by the time she was nineteen. She’d faced worse things since she could first remember her dreams. Life has never been fair. One merely needs to be hard enough to survive. The blade at her neck when she lay on the floor of the harrowing chamber was no different from the hunger in her belly as child, a necessary pain that only drove her forward. Maker, was there ever any chance that she did not see cruelty as simply another word for life? Is there any version of her that does not end up surrounded by moral filth?

In a slightly different timeline, Ezra and Emmrich keep going back and forth writing papers that are basically like "In Response to Volkarin's 'On Resonance of Wisps and the Echos Left Behind in the Deceased'" and "A Review of Ingellvar's "On The Spectrum of Spirts to Demons and The Motion From One To Another Case Studies in Spite" that are basically very polite seemingly passive-aggressive arguments back and forth on various aspects of Metaphysics and Spirit Studies that are so incredibly niche that the only people care about it are people with super niche fields and people who've gotten invested in the two of their arguments
Everyone thinks that if Emmrich Volkarin and Ezra Ingellvar meet in person they'd probably start fighting each other and Orlesians who read the papers and have had their brains melted by "The Game" are like "They've tried to poison him. He's tried to poison them. If one of them ends up dead, it's going to be by the other's hands. I can't fucking wait to see where this goes. These two are masters of the Game it's inspirational"
But one day they go to the same Mourn Watcher events (accompanied by their Veil Jumper significant others. How did that happen? Don't worry about it.) and they're talking and laughing and very much not trying to murder each other because the papers that they make back and forth aren't written passive aggressive politeness barely hiding their raw contempt for one another. They're genuinely friends who like talking to each other and were relieved to find someone that they could passionately debate theories with without the person they're talking to thinking they're being "hostile" or "weirdly aggressive" when they're just having a fun passionate and spirited debate. They don't care that the wording they use in one of Tevinter's circles would be a declaration of war. Because neither of them takes it that way they're just having a spirited debate furthering the field!
I've given Ezra and Emmrich a very facinating dynamic that can best be summed up by "In hindsight Ezra never ending up in that man's class was an act of the Maker because if they had no one would have learned anything outside of whatever these two were having a 'polite discussion about'".
The two agree on a lot of things (objective things where disagreeing on them would be akin to disagreeing on germ theory) but they disagree on a handful of subjective purely opinion based things. (These conversations facinate Bellara and make Taash hesitate to go out with both of them at the same time).
Anyway, my point to this is that when Emmrich tells Ezra about his plans to become a Lich in the Memorial Garden, Ezra HUGELY misinterpret what he says based on the fact that they think that being stuck on this side of the fade for eternity and your bones never getting the chance to be a host for anyone but yours and their brain goes to a series of incorrect conclusions and goes:
The Lich Lords claim to protect the Fade and the Necropolis, and yet I've heard NOTHING from them either with this whole thing or with the War of Banners. They're probably shady.
Emmrich's corspe whispering is very rare
Emmrich is afraid of death and the shady lich lords probally took advantage of that.
Emmrich is surely smart enough to know that this is a bad idea, but he still talks about doing it.
Conclusion: The Lich Lords took advantage of Emmrich when he was younger, made him swear to Lichhood, and he's having second thoughts but doesn't know how to get out of it.
Addendum: Would Tie Breaking cause the Lich Lords to reach out to Ezra and how do they keep them from bothering them.
This leads to Ezra's response to Emmrich being something to the effect of "Oh no! That's fucked up! I'm sure there's some way to get them off your back. When did they come to you. How do I help?" Before realizing they completely misread the situation and Emmrich reached out to them and he actually WANTS to become a Lich on Purpose even.

Heavy Is The Crown
pairing: Xaden x Reader
word count: 1.2k
warnings: Xaden is stressed, kissing, Xaden is angsty but this is fluffy
a/n: happy Xaden Week! written for day 1 ‘Leadership’. @empyreanevents
Tumblr media
The halls of Riorson House are eerily quiet at this hour, the usual rush of cadets and fliers reduced to the occasional distant footsteps or muffled conversation. You barely notice, too focused on your destination—Xaden’s room. The day has been grueling. Filled with combat training, strategy meetings, and rune lessons. You are sore and exhausted, but all of that fades into the background when you think of him.
You knock lightly before pushing the door open. Xaden sits at his desk, head bent over scattered reports and maps, the mage light casting a light blue glow over the room. His brows are furrowed, his jaw tight with tension, and his hands are curled into fists on the wooden surface. He glares at the papers as if they have personally wronged him.
He doesn’t look up right away, but he knows it’s you. He always knows.
“You should be sleeping,” Xaden murmurs, his voice low, rough with exhaustion.
“So should you.” You step inside, closing the door behind you. The air in here is thick with the scent of leather, steel, and his cologne. You have to remind yourself of why you’re here before you drown in it. “Xaden,” you call.
That gets his attention. He drags a hand down his face before meeting your gaze, and what you see there makes your breath catch.
He’s tired. Not just physically, but in a way that seeps into his bones, into the very fabric of who he is. It’s the kind of exhaustion that comes from carrying too much for too long. From carrying the weight of an entire revolution on his shoulders, from making decisions that mean the difference between life and death for hundreds—if not thousands—of people. He never lets them see it. Not the Assembly, not the marked ones—no one. But he lets you.
Without a word, you walk to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. He exhales, tension radiating from him as he leans into your touch. His muscles are taut, and there’s a seemingly permanent furrow between his brows that wrinkles the scar there. When you press a gentle kiss to his temple, his eyes flutter shut, like he’s trying to savor the moment.
“You don’t have to say anything,” you whisper. “Just let me be here. Let me help you.”
For a long time, he’s silent. Then, in a voice so quiet you almost don’t hear it, he says, “It’s too much.”
Your heart clenches.
“Every day, I have to act like I have the answers. Like I know exactly what I’m doing, like I don’t feel it—” he trails off as his voice cracks, shaking his head as if that could banish the onslaught of emotions. “Like I don’t feel the weight of every decision I make. Every order I give. Every life that could be lost because of it.”
You kneel beside him, taking his hand in yours. His fingers curl around yours instinctively, strong but desperate.
“You don’t have to carry it alone,” you whisper. “I know you think you do, but you don’t.”
He lets out a slow, measured breath. “I do, though.” His thumb brushes over your knuckles, and when he speaks again, his voice is raw. “If I let it slip, even for a second, people die.”
You don’t argue. He’s right. But that doesn’t mean you’ll let him bear it without reminding him that someone is here. That someone is here for him and only him. The whole world could burn to ash and you would not care, as long as you were still by his side.
You climb onto his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck, and he doesn’t hesitate before pulling you close. His breath is warm against your skin, his grip firm as if anchoring himself to you. For a while, you just hold him. You don’t tell him it’ll get easier, because it won’t. You don’t promise that the weight will lessen, because it won’t. But you will remind him, again and again, that he doesn’t have to bear it alone. And when he finally exhales against your shoulder, some of the tension draining from him, you know he knows that too.
Xaden doesn’t thank you with words. He doesn’t have to. The way his grip tightens around you, the way he buries his face in the crook of your neck and just breathes you in, says more than words ever could. For a long time, neither of you move. The world outside keeps turning, the weight on his shoulders doesn’t lessen, but here, in this moment, he allows himself to rest. To let go—if only for a moment.
You lean back to unbutton his flight jacket, his onyx eyes watching your every move. You pull the leather down his shoulders and fling it into his hamper. Your hands find the muscles between his neck and shoulders, and you knead them with your fingers. A groan falls from his lips as his head falls against the back of the chair. His hands tighten around your hips and you restrain the urge to roll them. This isn’t about you, it’s about him. About how much you love and care for him.
You work your way up and down his biceps, massaging away the knots and tension. Slowly, he starts to relax some more. Deflating like a balloon as it releases air. You move on to the back of his neck, gliding your fingernails to his scalp. The corners of his lips twitch upwards, likely imagining the other times your fingers have found their way into his hair. You smirk, but quickly refocus on your ministrations. His hair is soft like silk sliding through your fingers. You switch to the top of his head, moving the stray curls away from his face as you continue. A shiver runs through him with your touch, his shoulders jerking slightly. You smile to yourself and press a kiss to his cheek, then the other.
He quickly catches your lips with his, sliding his tongue across your bottom lip. The kiss is torturously slow, his tongue caressing yours with a gentleness that nearly makes you melt. Your hands move back down to the back of his neck, squeezing slightly. His mouth is warm against yours, always so warm and soft, like a cabin with a fire burning inviting you in from the chill outside.
Eventually, you pull away and his fingers trace slow, absentminded patterns against your back. “I don’t deserve this,” he whispers, so quietly you almost miss it.
You cup his face in your hands, forcing him to meet your eyes. “You do.” Your voice is firm but gentle. “You deserve to be cared for. You deserve to have someone who stands beside you, not just behind you.”
His throat bobs as he swallows, something unreadable flashing across his face before he presses his forehead to yours. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“You’ll never have to find out,” you promise, brushing your thumb along his cheek.
He exhales, and though the weight of leadership still rests on his shoulders, the burden doesn’t feel quite as heavy. Not in this moment. Not with you here.
And when you eventually coax him to bed, tangling your limbs together beneath the covers, you know that tomorrow, he’ll rise and carry it all again. He’ll lead, he’ll fight, he’ll make more impossible decisions. But tonight, he allows himself to rest. To lay in your arms and listen to soft sound of your breathing, to the steady rhythm of your heart beat.
