went to mexico yesterday to visit my grandpa's tomb for day of the dead. only the second time I've visited him since he died in may. not really used to having a dead™ to visit but now I'm home and I got mexican hot chocolate and I'm cuddled up with a mug and life is good. for now life is good 🥹

On Sunday while running errands, I had the Driving Thought™️ that Vessel must have heard the genre-bending in Wildfire by Periphery, said bet, and then wrote The Summoning. But, ha ha, jokes on me, I just looked up the songs and The Summoning was released first.

So now I have the ridiculous idea in my head that the Periphery guys heard The Summoning, said bet to Vessel, and then made Wildfire within a week. That's absolutely not how it happened but I'm still gonna pretend.

Have you read The Final Revival of Opal and Nev? Retrospective novel about an imaginary band that was so good that it made it impossible for me to finish Daisy Jones.

I have been... a bit of a non-practicing reader in recent days, so I haven't read too much. (I blame ADHD and also choice paralysis, my to read list is soo long that I get anxious picking on and committing to it, which means I end up reading nothing. Embarrassing!)

But I might just look into it. I'll be kinda honest, idk how interested I am in books about bands. I have so much time in bandom (both THEE bandom and also... idk 1d and kpop and all other pop iterations) that idk if reading fictionalized versions of that will work for me, considering I'm kinda... latently ashamed of my time following bands like that but if the urge comes up, that'll be first on my list to inspect.
