Calamity Awakening...

Originally, I planned to share this piece with Chapter 6, but as things unfolded, it got delayed. Still, I’m glad I took my time this moment deserved to be portrayed.

Even though both versions have a slight design difference, they both represent the different stages of Anne’s Calamity transformation, just like in the og show and her evolution.

I love how this piece captures the weight of her power reawakening, just like for each one of mystical forces at play across these three shows… and soon more beyond... 😉

Possible Pepper Ann design influences/unintented parallels in Amphibia designs

(and yeah those aspects of early Marcy's design is unfortunate and the possible intention doesn't really change that, but it's still interesting in the context of Pepper Ann's possible influence on Amphibia. and that it could have been an error in mistake. I just put it in quotes so it reads easier)

some of these designs also reminded me of Pepper Ann (and Nicky and Milo)

There's also some parallels with a trio who all have very different home lives, I can't think of another show that really has that other than this show and Amphibia outside of H2O

Inktober 2023 Day 28: Sparkle- Amphibia

Oh Anne, you tragic, tragic girl. Always without your shoe. No wonder you’re so sad.

No other reason.

Artist rambles under the cut:

My markers were still not 100% and I lost my confidence in line weight! The shading is not my best work here and if I were to do it again I’d get a straight edge and make the shading lines less far apart and changes the direction of the hair shade to clearly distinguish the tones of the shade as separate. However, I’m still quite happy with this work and LOVE how here eyes look.

Once again, I have SO MANY thoughts about Amphibia and no time to share them. Maybe one day I’ll do a long text post about it or something. Who knows?
