Good Stuff: The Day the Earth Blew Up

Fuck David Zaslav, the chickenhead monopoly-slobbing, joy hating [REDACTED] that he is, now back to the review.

"The first fully-animated Looney Tunes movie to get a theatrical release." Feels good to say that, especially given the maddening state of animation that might as well be a circadian whirlpool of the good and mostly bad. Coming after the whole debacle surrounding Coyote vs. Acme, you could consider this a miracle. Then again, was it a miracle worth finally getting to see? To answer this, this video will provide the genuine (silented) reaction I had when I left the theater.

For me, this was a perfectly crafted premise for a Looney Tunes movie that for once centered around the cartoon characters. It would've been one thing to have Bugs as the main attraction, but Porky and Daffy were perfect to not only carry the plot as a duo but have a genuine dynamic and arc that didn't make this film purely a gag fest. This does mean I wasn't laughing as hard or often as I would've the OG shorts, but I say it was a reasonable sacrifice while still possessing great jokes.

Porky played the lovable, naturally exhausted straight man while Daffy was at the top of his game. My prayers answered that his wily antics never made him annoying or an unapologetically insufferable thorn in Porky's side. Petunia rounding out the trio by getting to basically not be Lola from the Space Jam films; allowed to be the amicable love interest and self-sufficient venturesome tritagonist in her own right. Everything added up to have a nicely incisive, thus well-paced alien invasion thriller that just kicks ass?

Like more than anything, this was KICKASS

It's a real delight that Uncle Grandpa creator Pete Browngardt nailed the modernization of this franchise in the same way Paul Rudish did for Mickey Mouse. It would've been one thing to have a contemporary lens on everything to make it seem currently hip, again just make a gag fest with no other substance, poorly attempting to recapturing the ol' days, but the shorts collection and this film shows that he was allowed to stick to his guns and offer both great portrayals of the crew you could ask for and direct what is basically Disney's Chicken Little but better.

To wrap this up, I loved this movie and was more than glad to have FINALLY been able to see this in a theater as god intended. The same probably won't be said for everyone else who forgot or will ignore this because apparently there wasn't enough marketing to instantly get more butts in seats. And that irks me, y'know? How much convincing does everyone need to go and watch this? Aside from whether you can find a screening near you, it's like if one trailer, the concept alone, wasn't enough for most people, then fuck it. Warner Bros threw this to the curb but for me, it was a better fate than forever shelving this because this wide release theatrical run is for those who truly care. My kudos to Ketchup Entertainment for giving enough a damn to help distribute, otherwise I've grown tired of treating films like this as if it's the stock market. Let's be real, the state of 2D animation will be not critically dependent on this succeeding, but you gain nothing by just... not going to experience something great like this.

I'll stop before I channel my inner Kendrick. The Day the Earth Blew Up isn't just a miracle, it's just an incredible movie in its own right. An original blessed with the character, action, animation, and humor most would crave and get for this in spades.

The Heart of a Toy-An Analysis of KH3

Ever since finishing Kingdom Hearts 2 Nomura has been insistent on including Toy story in Kingdom hearts 3 even going as far as to say in an interview with Jen Simpkins from GameRader’s Edge Magazine, “After we were done with Kingdom Hearts II and were starting to consider III, we started talks with Disney, I remember saying, ‘If we can’t use Pixar, then we can’t have a third game.’ It’s that important to the game series,” (Nomura). And it’s clear to see why Nomura put so much importance on Toy Story once you realize how much its story connects to and reinforces the themes and mythos of Kingdom Hearts.

Toy Box is a magical world. While it appears to be the same of our own it holds a great secret, Toys are alive. When a child looks away a Toy springs to life revealing a heart of their very own, but that begs the question, how does a toy possess a heart? In Kingdom Hearts 3 we learn the answer. A toy is given a heart by the love of children. When a child looks upon a toy they do not see a cheap piece of plastic but instead they see a friend with a heart of its own to be loved and cherished. And it is that belief which truly gives the toys a heart. This is what Woody means when he says the Toys within Galaxy Toys have yet to figure it out. That they have yet to realize the love of a child and thus are empty shells without a heart of their own.

As Young Xehanort himself points out this draws heavily parallels between the toys and Nobodies, both incomplete creatures searching for their missing Half, but this parallel isn't just there to establish why the heartless can possess the empty toys. The point of this Parallel is to answer a question that has haunted the narrative of Kingdom Hearts since the events of KH2, Why does Roxas have a heart?

Roxas, just like his somebody, is an anomaly in the world of Kingdom Hearts. He is a nobody that bears neither the face nor the memories of his original self. He is more shallow than any other nobody, less a body without a heart and more a broken shell. Yet not only was Roxas the first nobody to grow a heart but said heart was his alone. Throughout the events of Days Roxas grows from a barely living husk of a man to one who definitely proclaims his own existence and personhood. And this is thanks to the bonds forged in his first year. Just like how a Toy is given a heart through the eyes of a child Roxas was given a heart by those that were drawn to him. From those he shared ice cream with under the twilight sky, the trio he befriended ever so slightly on a lazy afternoon, the fairy tale heroes his somebody cherished, and even the forgotten longing of brothership from the King of Nothing Roxas began to be shaped by those around him. His soul is learning the rules of the world, the nature of a heart, the simple joys of friendship, the sting of betrayal, and the heartbreak of goodbyes. As Roxas’s newborn heart grew with every day he too gained the ability to see the hearts of others whether it be in the Flurry of Dancing Flames whose false smile became true or the Puppet who became a Real Girl. But perhaps the final proof of Roxas' heart lies with his own “Andy”. Sora at first refused to see his “Woody”, whether it be or out of ignorance or prejudice Sora denied Roxas existence, refusing to heed the clues of the other half or feel his presence in his heart. That is until Roxas forced Sora to acknowledge him. Within the very core of his heart Sora came face to face with Roxas and was forced to acknowledge their connection through the Keyblades in order to win the fight. With Roxas’s tragedy laid before him Sora is at last ready to accept the truth and later on in the realm of sleep acknowledge not only Roxas’s existence but that he has a heart of his own. Just like how Andy gave woody and Buzz hearts by writing his name on them, Sora gives his Nobody a heart by acknowledging him as his own person.

While Toy Box Provides many answers it also raises a new question. If A toy gets its heart from a child’s love what happens when a toy becomes worlds apart from its kid? This question plaques Buzz throughout the events of Toy Box. With every possessed toy they defeat Buzz sees himself in them more and more. He fears that as he continues to drift away from Andy he too will lose his heart and become just another lifeless puppet . Ironically enough it is this very fear of separation that allows the darkness to grow inside Buzz making him another weapon for the heartless. In contrast to Buzz Woody is able to resist the pull of darkness. Woody has already dealt with the fear of separation first through his anxiety over being replaced by Buzz as Andy's favorite toy and second when he became paranoid over the idea of Andy abandoning if he broke. Both events taught Woody something important that yes his time with Andy is not permanent, that someday they will part but that doesn't mean their bond will ever end. Thanks to the events of Toy story 1 and 2 Woody has the resolve to face the hardships of Young Xehanort’s trials and keep his faith in Andy. And this is why Woody is the one to challenge Young Xehanort.

ToyBox is ultimately an encapsulation of the themes of Kingdom Hearts. This can be seen through the many parallels between The World and KH as a series. We’ve already pointed out the connection between the toys and Nobodies but what about how the world is split in two just like in dream drop Distance. Or how about the toy's separation from Andy mirrors Sora’s separation from Riku and Kairi in KH1 with Woody managing to resist the pull to darkness and put his faith in the light because he knows the true strength of a heart thanks to his connections. And lets not forget Buzz’s possession calling back to Riku and Terra’s fall to darkness. Even Buzz’s salvation continues to draw parallels between him and Riku with how they are both saved from the darkness by their friends never giving up on them. Yes Toy Box is a world built up from the ground to parallel the events of Kingdom Hearts, but why is that? Why out of all the other worlds in KH3 was this one chosen to hold a mirror directly to Sora’s journey? Well that's simple because the story of Toy Story is at its core a story about friendship, about how bonds can last forever even if the time spent together is finite.

There is another purpose however for Why Toy Box is set up this way. Toy Box’s main role in the overall narrative of Kingdom Hearts 3 is to be a test trial for his destined clash with Master Xehanort. The main antagonist of Toy Box is Young Xehanort who split the world in two and took the toys away from Andy in order to conduct an experiment. Said experiment was to see whether or not a toy is not only capable of having a heart but if they can carry darkness. This is all done as part of the True Organization's goal to achieve their final vessel but as the world’s story progresses it becomes Clear that Young Xehanort has his own reasons for doing all this. Young Xehnaort wishes to use this experiment to validate himself. Young Xehanort is the earliest version of Xehanort and thus represents his cynical beliefs at their most immature. He believes that not only is darkness the heart’s true nature but that strength comes from isolation. That it is not bonds and connections that make a heart strong but instead the never ending darkness that is born from fighting alone. It is a fundamentally childish ideal not born from understanding but instead self serving cynicism. And that is why Young Xehnort was chosen to be the villain of this world as his childish ideals serve as the perfect test run for Sora, allowing him to confront a weaker version of Xehnort’s ideals and see just how far his own ideals can stand up against him. Ultimately Sora manages to pass the test but not without some help. In the End Woody is the one to ultimately confront Young Xehanort and Save Buzz. Using his maturity Woody is able to shut down Young Xehanort’s childish worldview and break the darkness imprisoning Buzz. So While Sora is victorious in the end it does beg the question, Is Sora truly ready to confront Master Xehanort?

Weren't You Aware, Angelfish?

Characters: Yandere!Azul x GN! Reader

Summary: You think it's a game, but it's much more than that…

Author's Notes: A little background on this one; I actually really got into the Octavinelle Trio when the Little Mermaid event (which ran during third week of May in 2023) was going on following the live action film being released in theaters. At the time, I was also about midway through the "Merchant of the Depths" and was laughing at myself for the irony of participating in an event that matched the story I was reading. And I even received Azul’s SSR dorm card in the mirror summoning as well. 

Either way, I had come across a few head cannons and short stories of if the characters were actually aware of themselves being in a game and thought I'd take my own spin on it with Azul (I know there's a lot of these ones for this character - but you have to admit, the guy's got style).

"Oh, hey guys."

Azul blinked in surprise as a pair of (e/c) eyes peered out at him and the twins from under strands of (h/c).

It was the Ramshackle dorm prefect - and yet it wasn't.

Azul knew that he, among many others, were mere characters in a game called "Twisted Wonderland" - a battle simulation game that followed the stories of seven famous villains from a strange land called "Disney." The main character of the game was a character by the name of "Yuu," but each player had selected to choose a different name for their character depending upon their preferences and personalities - though Azul could never be certain if it was their real name or not.

This one just happened to go by the name (Y/C).

(Y/C) had appeared before them around a month ago, Azul had remembered a droning voice on speakers as the player before them shifted on a seat of metal, thier eyes looking towards the screen then away again before they closed the game. The other characters had been confused by it - usually a player would stay for a bit and work on the stories or do lessons when they first started. (Y/C), however, was shifty and nervous - they reminded Azul of a mouse that scuttled across the floors of the Ramshackle dorm, constantly stopping and looking around before continuing on its way. 

However, as things progressed, Azul quickly learned that (Y/C) was indeed a diligent player. 

He would hear them laugh at Ace and Deuce’s antics, mumble under their breath when they knew something was going to happen, and gap at each of the overblots as they happened. Azul quickly became interested in the player, moving to the front scenes as his turn to take the spotlight appeared. As they worked through his story, he found them to be… well, quite like him. They were crafty and cunning, all smiles and false confidence - a show they put on when they weren't alone. People fell for their charms like prey to an angular fish, their bright light luring them in until they snapped them up as per their job required. However, they struck good bargains with them - something that Azul had… never invested in.

Now, there was a special event that he and the tweels would be a part of - a special event for a revised film inspired by the life of the Great Sea Witch.

Azul looked on as (Y/C) shifted through the cards in thier possession, having selected Floyd first. They had received his dorm card about two weeks prior to the event, their excitement to raise its stats apparent in the forefront of thier mind. They filled the class, selecting Jade’s ceremonial robes card as well as Azul’s ceremonial robes card along with Cater and Rook's dorm uniform cards before heading into the class with Floyd with Azul watching on in curiosity.

"Something on your mind, Azul?" Jade asked him from his doorway, "You seemed to be watching our magicless prefect a bit more than normal."

Azul regarded his vicewarden with an arched brow, "Jade, I have no idea what you are talking about."

Jade smiled, his teeth peering out from behind his lips, “Azul, forgive me, but if I didn’t know any better… I’d say you were jealous.”

“Jealous?” Azul scoffed with a wave of his hand, “Who said anything of the sort?”

Jade crossed an arm around his middle as his other arm rested on top, his forefinger and thumb stroking his chin in thought, “Not that it makes any difference, but I’ve noticed you’ve been keeping quite a close eye on our player - quite the character, are they not?”

Azul shrugged, “I suppose so…”

“I bet you haven’t given a thought to knowing them outside of the game, though.”

Azul turned at the comment, his sea green eyes glowing with mischief as a tell-tale smile formed across his lips, “My dear Jade, have you and Floyd been up to something?”

Jade smiled in agreement, “Of course we have… would you like to hear?”

“I would indeed. Tell me what you know.”

Jade uncrossed his arms and folded his hands into his pockets, “Our player has only been playing for about a month, as you know well - and has obviously cleared three books of our game within that time frame. They like a good gamble here and there, but they understand when there’s a time for fun and a time for work - something you should learn in my opinion.”

“Yes, yes,” Azul waved his hand, “Whom is their current favorite?”

“It varies from day to day - though (Y/C)’s profile indicates that it is currently Malleus Draconia,” Jade answered, “However, based on their world… they do have a fascination for sea creatures.”

Azul frowned, “Their world?”

Jade nodded, “Every so often we’re given a glimpse of the player’s real world - their reality. (Y/C) currently lives with an ailing father and a mother that is trying to hold everything together. They’re a full time student in what they call ‘high school’ and works at a family restaurant part time as a waitress. They like spending time on social media, reading when not with us, and does a bit of sewing from my understanding.”

Azul rubbed his chin in thought, “Do they… play other games?”

“Several - (Y/C) has a very high social media presence and has been gaining followers over the course of several years, speciallizing in strategic battle games and, apparently, even romance games,” Jade answered, “However… (Y/C)’s very shy and keeps to themselves quite a bit. From my understanding, they’re not exactly… well-liked by the other students at the school they attend. (Y/C) often eats alone and prefers the company of fictional characters or those online to those in their world.”

“Not well-liked? (Y/C)’s well-liked here!” Azul answered in confusion.

“Perhaps, but we all eventually become attached to our player - they’re the star of their own story here, after all,” Jade agreed, “And (Y/C)’s practically the same in their world - kind, supporting, caring… but is an outcast.”

“Care to explain why?”

Jade shakes his head, “I wish I could tell you, Azul - but even I am not certain why that is.”

Azul squeezed his lips in thought before turning to Jade, “Is there a way we can dig into more about our player?”

“There might be something within the profile, but a chance at looking into the outside world? That is a one in a million chance of happening. I was given a glance when (Y/C) was using me for a battle - but it was very short. The rest of the information I gathered was from other characters - specifically Cater who has been with them the longest. You know how he will speak for a chance at gaining more followers.”

Azul chuckled with a smile, “Excellent work, Jade. For the time being, I’d like to find out as much as you can about our player - Floyd, if he’s in the mood, will probably want to know more about ‘shrimpy’ as well, get him in on the search too. Though, I suppose we can only do what we can for right now…”

In the days that followed, (Y/C) was consistently in the Octorio’s presence. As they met each requirement the Octavinelle Training Camp event gave them, (Y/C) beat every battle they were given and took in the rewards with vigor; their method was simple - they finished all of Floyd’s tasks before closing the game, reopening it the following day with fresh eyes and ready for the challenges that awaited them and selected Jade as their next partner. Azul watched from the sidelines as each task was completed and battle won; it was strange to hear how (Y/C) would always keep the trio together, Azul stuck in between the tweels as they switched spots. However - Azul couldn’t be completely disappointed in them; after all, (Y/C) did invite him to attend each lesson with them and the tweels. 

So why was it so hard for him to not feel this… jealous anger that was slowly rising with him? It wasn't like they were anything interesting - the only thing they had in common, maybe, was the fact that (Y/C) was business-minded - even for a high schooler. 

Azul pinched the bridge of his nose as cards of various characters floated across the screen; Floyd... Vil... Epel... Malleus... Trey... All of them appeared across the screen over and over like turbulant waves on the shorelines - yet none of them were of him. (Y/C) flipped through the cards again, their (e/c) eyes hard with determination.

"One last roll," Azul heard them say, "I have enough for a chance encounter - please let it be one I don't have."

The music played as the dark mirror appeared again, "Bearer of dark powers, I call thee forth!"

Azul could practically feel (Y/C) vibrating with anticipation as clacks echoed in the small area that was their bedroom. Jade... Floyd... Vil... Sebek... Idia... Malleus... Lilia... Rook...

"You're so lucky to have met a compassionate person like me..."

Azul's voice stuck in his throat as (Y/C) squealed in delight, "AZUL! Oh my GOD! I have your CARD!"

And indeed they had gotten it - Azul's SSR dorm card flashed across the screen with the octomer perched in a leather chair, Jade and Floyd just behind him with the sea witch's familiar mirror in the background. Azul was vibrating with excitement - at long last, he was now in the spotlight, appearing before (Y/C) in his finely dressed dorm uniform. The octomer was beside himself with excitement as (Y/C) clicked back on the homescreen, scrolling through their cards and smiling as they found the newest addition.

"Azul..." they whispered so softly, "I'm so excited... I wasn't expecting this... not in the slightest. I hope that I don't disappoint - I'll get this leveled up and we'll work together, you and me."

'You could never disappoint me, angelfish,' Azul wanted to say as he felt something pull him to the front of the screen. He now stood in Ramshackle Dorm, front and center as the eyes of (Y/C) looked upon him, thier features brightening.

"Thank you so much, Azul," they grinned, a look of sheer awe and excitement taking root across their face, "I'm so glad to add you to the team."

The event ended far too quickly for Azul's liking, meaning that he could no longer work with his player one-on-one - at least until the next training camp. For now, Azul was content to use his days watching his player as he peered into their normal everyday life. 

Jade had not been lying when he told Azul about (Y/C)’s busy schedule - they awoke every morning at six on the nose, dressed and readied themselves for school - helping their mom with a few simple chores before heading out the door. (Y/C) was an intriguing student, using common sense to answer their professors’ questions and asking more in return - though Azul could hear snickering in the background and soft insults that were directed at his player. (Y/C) sat alone at lunch, the game open in front of them as they nibbled on a sandwich - keeping thier promise to level up Azul's card as they doodled in the notebook beside them. A few times, they would have a set of headphones in and would hum along with the music that would come through the speakers - making Azul strain to hear them. After school, (Y/C) would head over to one of the local restaraunts, changing into their work uniform and began the grunging job of serving guests. Azul listened as the clientel would call them over - some pleasant, others not so much; though he was surprised by (Y/C) ways of handling them, giving their best award-winning smile and working their way into their hearts to the point that they couldn't take it or dropped the subject entirely.

Day in and day out, Azul was there and listened to everything everyone told them; week after week, he saw the light slowly begin to fade from their eyes...

And by the time summer had come, (Y/C) was struggling - mentally and emotionally. Gone was the happy-go-lucky teen that Azul had slowly become attatched to, in their place was a saddened and heavy-burdened individual that sought the comfort of loniness - fictional characters were their only friends now.

One night, (Y/C) perched on their bed after a particularly rough day at work. Azul had seen one of the customers - another student that was prone to bullying (Y/C) in class - trip them while they were carrying a pot of hot soup to bring to the salad bar; regardless if it was intentional or unintentional, (Y/C) could have been seriously injured - burned from how hot the liquid was. Then, (Y/C)’s boss degraded them - telling them that if they weren't so stupid and watched where they were going, none of this would've happened; even though it was clearly not (Y/C)’s fault. When they got home, (Y/C)’s mother had to rush their father off to the hospital - something about his ailment suddenly turning for the worse and making (Y/C) now worried sick about their father's health - no longer caring about the injury they sustained and the pain they felt within. 

(Y/C) tapped the screen of the game, opening up and laying their phone against a box that sat on the bedside table, watching as Azul greeted them in his normal fashion.

"Helping people is what I live for. As housewarden, I will do everything to support my students," Azul smiled in greeting.

"I wish the same could be said for me," (Y/C) sighed, laying their head against the pillow as the music of the Mostro Lounge filled the background of the bedroom.

"Hm? And why do you think I wouldn't support you, angelfish?"

(Y/C) turned to look at their phone as Azul smiled. They rubbed thier face for a moment before muttering, "I must be more tired than I thought. I thought you just said something."

"I did, angelfish," Azul's voice came loud and clear as (Y/C)s' eyes widened, "I said, 'Why do you think I wouldn't support you?'"

(Y/C) blinked, "Y-you... talked. You can talk?"

"Of course I can talk," Azul answered, resting his hands on his hips in disappointment, "What makes you think that I wouldn't? We've talked before, after all."

"Y-yes... but that was scripted," (Y/C) rubbed their face again, "I must be dreaming - just some fantastical thing because of the stress and anger I've been experiencing lately."

"(Y/N), come now, you know that's not true."

"H-how do... you know my name?"

"I've been keeping an eye on you for some time, (Y/N)," Azul answered, "I know all about you - what you like and dislike, what your biggest fears and regrets are and what you wish for most in the world. I can offer that, you know."

"Offer what?" (Y/N) rubbed their face then, "Wait a minute... why am I even discussing this with you? You're a character in a game and I live in the real world - there's no way this is happening either - this is just the rambling of a stressed out lonely teenager who gets enjoyment out of playing a game and reading fanfictions."

"I assure you, this is no dream," Azul answered, "And you're not going to get rid of me that easily either."

(Y/N) frowned, "What do you mean? What did you do?"

"Simply enough - I hacked this phone," Azul admitted, "It took a bit to figure out the workings of it, but now you won't be able to do anything unless I give you my permission to do so."

"You... what?!" (Y/N) glared at Azul, "This is my only form of communication! My only way to be someone! I use this for school! Work! Why would you do that?"

"I admire your ability and drive, angelfish, I really do," Azul smiled wickedly, "However - 'real life,' as you call it, is keeping you from me. You were hurt today and have been stepped on over and over like a piece of gum on your school's cemented sidewalks. What I am willing to offer you, in exchange for your undivided attention that is, will allow you complete freedom from the outside world. You will never have to experience that sort of degration and torement again."

"And what about my friends? My family?" (Y/N) askes, "You think I'll sign my name on a contract of yours so willingly?"

"You did the first time around."

"That was scripted!"

"Angelfish," Azul's tone turned dark, "You really have no say in this. I know your family is struggling so I'll modify the contract, only for your sake though. As for your 'friends,' you really have none in that world - I have been with you for the past two months, constantly watching you and, yes, protecting you. You might not see it now, but you will in due time - besides we're the same age, are we not?"

"Close... maybe," (Y/N) admits.

"Then, what's the problem?" Azul folded his arms across his chest, "Sign the contract - and I will give you everything your heart desires."

The screen shifted as a familiar golden hue appeared on the screen.

"Here's the deal, Angelfish," Azul's voice appeared in the background, "In exchange for your undivided attention, I will grant you - and your family - the funds needed to help you both financially and comfort.  You and family will want for nothing and I will provide support you your ailing father. You will belong to me completely, and when such a time arrives that the two of us are old enough, we will be married."

(Y/N) looked over the contract on the screen, biting her lip.

"And you promise I will be able to stay with my family? Still see them when I want to?"

"Yes - it would be improper for the two of us to live together as I will need time to prepare for that event. However, you will not be able to tell anyone about this arrangement - unless you wish to lose your voice in the process."

"N-no thank you."

(Y/N) could practically see Azul's grinning features, "Then, Angelfish mine... sign on the dotted line. Let's embark on this new adventure... together, just you and me."

1 (hex Ben) hex switched bodies with Ben in his world after the fountain of youth fiasco in a second attempt to prolong his life with the power of the Omnitrix combined with his mastery of sorcery he defeated and killed adwaita having become lost on his path of vengeance against adwaita and became the very thing he fought.

2 (guardian Ben) during the episode with the sword when it was about to die it determined Ben as the perfect host to use to protect the sword after accomplishing this it destroys the intruders but at the same time within its new body ac puch sees within bens memories the various mythical tools considered lost to time and was particularly influenced by kid bens greed and this determined to guard these treasures as well he encounters the Saturday's destroys them and takes there mythical artifacts along with the sword he initially guarded and determines only he is worthy to use and guard eon steals these treasures and blocks puch's ability to sense them he tells ac puch to do one thing and he'll help the god recover them and so the god agrees.

3 (Alien-Xtincion) a Ben in a Gwen 10 universe where he saw his Gwen lead a miserable life due to the existence of the Omnitrix with villains school work attempts on her life and more he saw her spiral in a life of misery running her self to the ground in an attempt to get her life together seeing this suffering he hoped to use a spell to see the experiences of other users to see how they dealt with the stress however unbeknownst to him eon was influencing which worlds he saw seeing the various users at there lowest leading lives that were utterly lonely miserable with cut ties in various relationships and seeing others die and seeing worlds where the Omnitrix is outright evil making him believe that the Omnitrix is a curse to destroy becoming an anodite at full power he proceeded to take gwens Omnitrix and leaves to other universes to do the same pretending to be a celestial sapian.

(Chaos incarnate) Basically this version of Ben managed to absorb the chaos gods khorne slaanesh tzeench nurgle and he horned rat and became a singular chaos god with all the benefits of the 5 with complete control.

5 (nega Ben) he's a being similar to darkstar a parasitic creature that feeds off the life force of others his grandma verdonna being the same species that made darkstar beings of unlife that feast on mana the life of others.

6 (Superior Ben) based off of sheepblack11's parody of Superior Spider-Man in Ben 10 form this animo was never influenced by bens memories and ghost and sought to be a creater and bringer of life untamed and uncontrolled by destroying civilization and creating nature in his own image his transmogrifyer acting similar to the ultimatrix on his own forms.

7(tyrant Ben) in this universe vilgax kidnaped Ben in the same day he fought him and midewiped and brainwashed to be a successer an heir to his empire when vilgax died at bens hands he took the powers vilgax stole as well as enhancing himself with the same cybernetics vilgax had and set out to accomplish his mentors work.

8(conquest Ben) a version of Ben that was convinced by vilgax during the finally to dictate his version of justice and end evil however as the days went on dagon subtly influenced him until eventually both became one where he now believes that him conquering everything and ruling it will solve all issues.

9 (benzarro) a version of Ben that was infected by the zombie virus and was the 10th person to be infected and was consuming unopposed eon showed up and placed an asylum style control helmet to command and control the walking corps that changes with his forms.

10 (albedo) albedo is longtime arch enemy of Ben who's been promised by eon that he will use his time powers to reverse the transformation he's been forced into and undo the genetic damage to his body from his Omnitrix, his Omnitrix doesn't transform him it just keeps his forms stable for 10 minutes before it returns him to the default form the human form (his transformations resemble the classic series way of transforming full on lycanthropy style)

11( blue) I have no idea what his motivation is all I know is that he was evil

12(carnitrix) this is my interpretation of the carnitrix because the original was well to edgy so here's how my interpretation goes he becomes a monster like the original but his heroism is stronger than the monsters killing intent he's strong enough to some what aim the aggression but he can't stop accidental deaths unfortunately since the carnitrix is designed to be a weapon that targets life it can't untransform him he's stuck constantly switching alien forms and constantly fighting the monsters to force them away from seeking populated areas he's hunted down by the military for it(basically the hulk full Jekyll and Hyde) this he forces himself to stay awake for as long as he can to stop his body from doing these atrocities and because of the nature of the watch he doesn't need to eat drink or sleep but his mind is growing tired and slowly changed eon shows up and makes an offer untransforming him and offering him freedom in exchange for service in his delirium he accepts for something resembling peace when he's Told what he has to do and refused he transformed back and told if he doesn't do what he's ordered to do he'll be purposely placed in a populated area and forced to wreak havoc that's when he realized hes unknowingly accepted a feistian bargain.

13(eon) this is the ultimate alien eon he's a version of Ben that killed his eon and took his gear he's basically trying to pull off vilgax's plan from ov by designing the chronosapian time bomb to ignore his presence and target every other version of himself and replace prime Ben with himself.

14(mad 10) mad Ben is a Ben from an apocalyptic timeline where he's doing anything and everything to keep his civilization alive either though diplomacy or force his aliens supplies much water and plants to survive but the radiation still taints them and the Omnitrix being the only thing keeping him alive from his heavily irradiated body the offer he got from eon being kill this one world and he can essentially have a clean slate for his makeshift civilization.

15(Bad Ben) a criminal mastermind in control of the largest intergalactic crime empire in existence offered more he's motivated purely by greed.

Twisted Wonderland AU

The Fractured Thread

A human girl with no memory of her past is mysteriously summoned to Twisted Wonderland. She retains no personal memories but possesses encyclopedic knowledge of various topics, especially Disney stories, despite being unfamiliar with Twisted Wonderland itself. Lacking magical abilities and unsure of her true identity, she navigates the challenges of school life, grappling with the unsettling discovery that she is not entirely human.

Main Character:

Yuu Quinn

Called "Yuu" by Dire Crowley (a name she reluctantly accepts) and adopts "Quinn" because it sounds cool.

Androgynous in her school uniform, allowing her to pass as male.

Assumed to be human, until certain abilities reveal themselves.

Witty, sassy, and unafraid to call out others, she often gets into arguments with both students and staff.

Prides herself on her vast knowledge, often correcting others and dropping Disney references.

Initially lacks empathy, struggling to connect with others due to her memory loss and distrust.

A compulsive liar who hides her vulnerabilities behind bravado.

Claims to be into women to maintain her disguise as a boy. She gets way too into this and is clearly having fun with it.

Frequently violates school rules, swears openly, and is willing to commit non-violent crimes if it’s “interesting” or rewarding.

Beneath her tough exterior, she feels like a stranger in her own body, fearing both her true nature and her unknown past.

She's jealous about others' relationships, especially familial ones.

Ramshackle Dorm:

Her residence was provided by Crowley. Thinks it's a trash heap, but willing to put up with it. When she realizes she'll be staying longer, she makes an effort to clean and repair it as it's filled with mold and dust.

Shared with Grim.

Hated the "Three ghosts of Christmas past" and was hell-bent on exorcising them. However, she also thinks of a way of manipulating them and using them to her advantage.

Night Raven College:

Enrolled as a freshman despite being unable to perform magic.

Excels in academic tasks, especially those requiring logic and memory. Likes to correct other students when they get something wrong for her amusement.

The newest problem student who is frequently given extra assignments as punishment.

So many Harry Potter references.

Bargain with Crowley:

Crowley offers to help her recover her memories and return home in exchange for extracting knowledge from her mind.

Yuu reluctantly agrees, working part-time and letting Crowley study her as payment for essentials like food.

The pair of them have a mutual dislike for one another, despite the partnership.

Spider Abilities:

During the first Overblot incident, spider-like legs erupt from her body under stress, enabling her to escape danger.

Horrified but fascinated, Yuu learns to control them and reluctantly consents to tests on her biology, fearing her potential to harm others (and herself).

After this, she worries about potentially eating food toxic to spiders.

To her annoyance, her crush calls her "Weaver" when he finds out about her spider abilities. She of course doubles down on this and gives him a worse nickname.

Reputation:

Initially ostracized for her abrasive and dishonest behavior, Yuu slowly earns trust and forms meaningful friendships.

The Octavinelle trio become her first real allies despite her initial suspicion of their motives.

Personal Growth:

Yuu’s journey begins with mistrust and isolation, but as she bonds with others, she learns to lower her guard and accept help.

She transitions from seeing herself as an outsider to embracing her unique identity, including her spider abilities.

Despite fearing her non-human nature, Yuu works toward understanding it and reconciling it with who she wants to be.

She hopes her restored memories will reveal a kinder, more empathetic self, inspiring her to grow in the present.

Key Relationships:

Her first companion is Grim. They form a dynamic of mutual reliance and banter.

Dire Crowley is a manipulative figure who alternates between aiding and exploiting Yuu.

The Octavinelle Trio become unlikely but steadfast friends who recognize her value and support her growth despite her mistrust.

Yuu eventually develops mutual feelings for a classmate, further grounding her emotionally and fostering vulnerability. However, with her current memory situation, she doesn't feel like she can be with him.

Themes:

Yuu’s search for her past mirrors her struggle to find her place in Twisted Wonderland.

Her journey involves confronting her fears of harming others and mastering her newfound abilities.

Over time, Yuu softens her rough edges, building trust and meaningful connections.

Coming up with the initial concept was fun. I'm rather new to the TWST fandom, I decided to check out Yana Toboso's Disney game and was impressed.

“LOKI” MARVEL STUDIOS LEGENDS EPISODES COMING SOON TO DISNEY+

Just ahead of the release of the second season of Marvel Studios “Loki” on Disney+, two new episodes of “Marvel Studios Legends” will be released on Disney+ on Friday, 29th September 2023.  Expect these episodes to also be released on YouTube, as Disney has recently started releasing previous episodes for free.

Loki Season 2 Synopsis Revealed

Via Disney, Marvel Studios released the first official synopsis for Season 2 of Loki, which comes to Disney+ in October 2023.

Confirming that the season will pick up "in the aftermath of the shocking season finale" from Season 1, the God of Mischief will be fighting for the Time Variance Authority's existence while searching for a trio of missing characters:

"'Loki' Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose."

While the entire main cast of characters will be back from Season 1, Season 2 will feature plenty of newcomers as well, including Indiana Jones' Ke Huy Quan and Game of Thrones' Kate Dickie.

Even MORE KH3 Assorted Thoughts- because this game is giving so much, for real:

San Fransokyo is absolutely sick and I've been bouncing around the skyscrapers while jamming to the Spiderverse OST. As long as Flowmotion and Shotlock exists, KH as a franchise has gotta give me more urban settings to zip around in.

The cutscene where Sora/Roxas kind of intertwine with their experiences on top of the Golden Gate Bridge. 😭"And when you're not strong enough, he'll make up the difference." Oogh, Roxas being likened to a brother figure for Sora is painful and delicious. I like the inclusion of Hayner, Pence, and Olette through Roxas' eyes. If he had looked to his other side and seen Axel, and a glimpse of Xion, that would've really completed the scene. All the people Roxas had watched the sunset with...

Was a bit confused by the Big Hero 6 plot, not gonna lie. Like, I thought our new Org. member was the Riku Replica, but then this guy says he's KH1 Riku that gave up his body in order to time travel. That and, as I see later, the Riku Replica was just hanging out with Riku in his final moments, so... I dunno, that plotline is just all sorts of fishy. In an attempt to scrutinize here the plot's going with this... I'm unsure if it's really KH1 Riku as he claims he is, especially since Maleficent dropped a major hint with the "though I'm not sure I could tell you from when," Which, given her familiarity with KH1 Riku, tells me that me that we're supposed to be questioning the validity of the Org. Riku's claims.

RIKU'S NEW KEYBLADE LOOKS LIKE A MF CAR KEY HAHA.

Oh. My. God? The World of Darkness scene, guys. So much. It looks like Sora was able to have his Power of Waking activate in order to save Riku (since he used Eraqus' Keyblade and not a Keyblade of Darkness to dive in, the only possibility left as to how that was possible would be using his Power of Waking, so...). 😭 Damn, this is what the Disney world build up was there for, guys. Foreshadowing of power of love, my beloved. Also very sweet/funny how Riku had no way of knowing about Sora rushing to save him, so he's just in the thick of battle, desperate, and mumbling "Sora..." under his breath to keep himself going. Godspeed, champ. 🫡 Then he wonders if he somehow summoned him as Sora proceeds to jump right in for a certified mind blown moment.

How is Reality Shift Keyblade existing outside of the Sleeping Worlds? Question mark?? So sick that they brought it back but uhm? So many questions with these World of Darkness cutscenes... But wow, goddamn.

The little smile Sora turns around to give Riku after parrying off Aqua's attack. My goodness... so sweet. Not to mention the musical side of the scene, with how Sora's theme melded beautifully into Dearly Beloved when he and Riku used their Keyblade. Man... this game really feels a bit like Sora's answer to Riku's journey in DDD. They've got each other's backs, man!

Sora reaching in to grab Aqua... and the group hug afterwards... Aqua's got to be so on edge, now, after all this. If only Keyblade wielders could get complementary therapy.

Also, also Aqua unlocking Castle Oblivion looked so cool.

Vanitas crashing the party was hilarious, considering how hard the boy must have been hustling to get there. "I have been falling through doors for THIRTY MINUTES!"

Ventus flashing between seeing Vanitas in Sora's face was interesting. Definitely a readjustment and a half. Really excited to see dynamic between Ventus and the Destiny trio. Y'know, how he perceives them due to living life through Sora's eyes in a long dream of his own. Love how he saw the Dream Eaters and thought they were adorable...

Aqua got to have a "you got so big" moment with Sora and Kairi and I just find that adorable. I expect one with Terra to Riku once we get him un-possessed.

Btw, everything with Axel/Lea (we love a multiple name king) and Kairi has been driving me crazy this game. I love them. The redheads who get left behind, the stable anchor for their groups who go through the pain of abandonment and the guilt of helplessness. Obviously, they're different people and it'd be nice to hear more of each of their own perspectives, but KH is a series of parallels, and I think that most things haunting Axel/Lea haunt Kairi as well.

...In a similar vein, I was just as gutted by and perceive the wonderful sunset scene between Sora and Kairi to be Kairi's own "You just keep running, but I'll always be there to bring you back," equivalent moment. But since it's Kairi, and not Axel, she's melancholic in her subtle pleading to Sora. "I just want to be a part of your life no matter what. That's all." She verbally minimizes herself and her presence in Sora's life because of the growing distance between them, and that's heartbreaking, dude. Still, I'm happy that Sora agreed to have a Paopu Fruit with her to give her some level of affirmation, even if he looked a little confused/unsure at first. She needs that semblance of stability before the shit goes down so much right now, and I wonder if he realized that to some degree... Kairi, my poor child. I hope she realizes how important she is, later on.

Also, I'll just say it here, because this is just me spitballing but it's on topic. I get the feeling this scene might have been foreshadowed by the Hundred Acre Woods story (and why was that world so SHORT, AAA-). I had my suspicions back in KH2 due to the amnesia subplot, and now feel pretty confident that the Hundred Acre Woods are meant to connect to Sora's perception of "home/childhood" and therefore his perception of Kairi as well. While ecstatic to see Pooh and gang in KH1 and KH2, here he was placating and ready to leave in KH3 (which was hilarious contrast to myself, btw, because I was more like "LFG" 😂). I thought it was perhaps just strange writing at first, but then the game goes out and says it when Sora considers how he feels his connection to everyone is weaker, and he's not sure why. And this is after Pooh is all "Welcome home," (KH2 ending, anyone) and worries about "forgetting [Sora] away" (Sora's absence making Pooh lose his place in his life, also alluding to KH2, possibly). Of course Sora doesn't like that and panics, because similarly to how Kairi struggles with change of character and circumstance, Sora struggles with the idea of relationships changing or growing apart- he's very stubborn about it. So, I appreciate Merlin saying the thing about relationships merely changing form, and that it's not the end of the world. Anyway, all of this is making me very morose, because it makes me think of all of those people you grew up with that you don't talk to much anymore but still think of fondly and would love to hear from them again, as you remember them in your mind's eye.

Uh, so... now I'm putting off progressing the story by getting chests and finding lucky emblems, lol. Right now, all my dudes are happy and taking a little break before they confront the baddies, and I'm slightly nervous to see if the game also delivers on the foreshadowing of the Disney Worlds also having a lot of dying in them. 😬 Obviously whatever happens will get fixed with the power of love and whatnot, but I don't exactly want the gang to go through more suffering than they've got to, lmao. why is Father Time here? he had nothing to do with this type of wish last time. also he looks completely different from his prior appearance but then again that was in Timmy's Secret Wish and that wasn't good so we can let that slide. but being popular falls under "15 minutes of fame" huh? uhhu. well...to be fair i could see a rules restructuring after Tim's deal in Most Wanted and all his tampering with the Time Scooter (and in Timmy's Secret Wish too i guess) could've made it so Father Time has final approval of time-based wishes...maybe if that'd been the ruling from the start we wouldn't have 5 different timelines caused by Timmy in the first place

Help I accidentally started rewriting a sequel trilogy to star wars in my head bc I hate disney

So Lucas actually wrote an outline for the sequels and what we know of it is a MUCH more natural progression of the story. Luke is attempting to rebuild a jedi order, while Leia is attempting to rebuild a republic, but neither are going to happen overnight. The galaxy has fallen into chaos and crime lords are vying for power in the vacuum as the republic organizes. Scattered empire influence remains to be squashed, and somewhere in those circles of crime syndicates lies a much darker influence - Maul. None of this is me - it's all Lucas. I wouldn't change a bit of it.

Leia and Han Solo have 3 children, as they did in the eu sequels - twins Jaina and Jacen Solo, and the youngest boy, Ben Solo. All 3 are studying under Luke, and they each possess unique skills. Jaina is a remarkable pilot and mechanic like her father, uncle, and grandfather, but she tends to prefer machines to people - they're simpler and easier to understand than the complicated emotions and drives of people - and can seem cold as a result, even though it aids her understanding of the force through humanizing droids and lower life forms. Jacen is strongly gifted in the force, but that talent makes him arrogant and easily bored and frustrated with training, like his grandfather, not aided by a brackish rogue spirit like his father. One thing everyone can agree on is both twins have their father's mouth. Ben is wise beyond his years and has a natural affinity for jedi teachings and politics, like his grandmother, mother, and uncle, but is stubborn and possesses his mother's righteous temper, and can sometimes even seem authoritarian when frustrated enough. None of them are very good at following rules and often wind up in wild adventures when they find reasons important enough to break them. Very much a 2 boys 1 girl trio to follow through the story (reflecting Luke, Leia, Han/Anakin, Padme, Obi wan/ what they half heartedly tried to do with Rey, Poe, and Finn)

Luke has studied ancient jedi texts ("the sacred texts!"), reviewed as much surviving documentation as he can of the jedi order of the old republic, and is slowly encountering more and more force sensitive children. But putting that all into practice, he is quickly realizing the pitfalls that led to the destruction of the jedi order and struggling to grapple with them. How do you a train a new generation without tearing them from their family? How can he forbid attachment when he himself holds so tightly onto family and friends? How can that be a path to the dark side when that's exactly how he stayed in the light and redeemed his father? He finds himself growing angry with Ben Kenobi and Yoda, who often visit during his regular meditations. He doubts his wisdom, fears he's accidentally leading his students down a darker path, and wonders if the jedi should remain extinct after all, and if their teachings should die with him.

Darth Maul is growing old, and knows his crime syndicate will crumble with infighting upon his death, and sith teachings while die with him as well if he doesn't find an apprentice to pass them down to. While he couldn't enact revenge against Kenobi for the loss of his legs directly, the perfect revenge against Kenobi's last surviving apprentice, and the last remaining jedi at that, would be to corrupt and steal an apprentice from his own lineage.

Sensing the trouble, Anakin has one last lesson to teach his son. They haven't spoken since his death. They haven't seen each other since the celebration following the Battle of Endor. Anakin is unlike the other masters who've learned to retain form in the Force. Luke senses this, but is much more interested in his insight into the failings of the Jedi order and how that led him to the Dark Side. Anakin sees many forces repeating themselves in similar ways, but the nature of the Force is cyclic. It's always trying to keep a balance. The only way to avoid the worst of history is to retain its balance. To retain balance in the Force, one must embrace all sides of it.

It's here Anakin demonstrates what sets him apart from the other Force Ghosts - he's a master of the Dark and Light sides, and while his intentions are wise and good, he is not afraid to use Vader to drive home a hard lesson. It's only through a fight Vader can reignite Luke's conviction, and with it the unwavering hope that redeemed his father. The jedi were wise but closedminded, and that blinded them to basic truths and let to tragedy. If this new jedi temple is to survive and avoid the mistakes of its predecessors, it must take lessons from both sides and embrace a balance, especially if Luke is save his niece and nephews from a fate like Anakin's.

Also Boba Fett survived and took over Jabba's territory, but has a vendetta against Han Solo and wants that man's head on a platter (or re-encased in carbonite). While Han's past as a smuggler provides needed insight for the republic into criminal circles, he's a particularly wanted man.

Leia's a tragically hands off mother by necessity with the state of the galaxy, though she loves her children fiercely. It's an easy decision to leave them in Luke's care, away from the worst of the conflict, and hopes to be able to bridge the gap when her responsibilities allow. In a brief quiet period of following the Battle of Endor, Luke began to train her first, realizing Force sensitivity is a large part of what makes her such a naturally fierce politician. Leia had to stop to take charge, though not before acquiring a few jedi skills, such as being able to attune to her senses purposely or employ a few mind tricks, that help her in the political and military arenas (perhaps even how to swing a light saber in a pinch - because let's face it, we've all wanted to see her wield a saber).

Question: if you were commissioned to show run a KH Disney Plus show, how would you go about it?

Well, I have heard rumors that the Disney+ series would use the Unreal Engine, but I would honestly prefer a 2D style. There was that pilot episode that Seth Kearsley made, and he said the final art style was probably going to look like a cross between ATLA and something similar to the Aladdin animated series on Disney Channel. Which...would have been amazing.

If a Disney+ adaptation gets made, I'm sure it will be very different than canon. The story has gotten very crazy (too crazy IMO) to be marketable to a new mainstream crowd. But for me personally, I would do an adaptation that was similar to the KH manga. And I would just stick to a reboot of the Dark Seeker Saga.

Season 1: A KH1 retelling, similar to the manga. The reboot could be used to add in foreshadowing of stuff like Ventus's heart being released when Sora stabs himself with the Keyblade. And also flesh out the stuff we were supposed to get in BBSV2. Riku's blank period, Pluto and Mickey shenanigans, etc.

Season 2: CoM/Days retelling. Focus on the sea-salt trio and Organization XIII. Much of the story takes place at Castle Oblivion. Instead of focusing on Sora's memories of KH1 and rehashing the Disney plots, I would focus on the Organization members' memories.

We STILL don't know much about Luxord and Demyx's pasts, but I would use the animated series to flesh them out and explain their motivations. Apparently, Demyx rejoined the True Organization XIII because he wanted to be with his old friends again. He probably has a tragic backstory. And Luxord was hoping to find the black box. This makes me think he was from Scala ad Caelum and knew about the Book of Prophecies, etc. I'm sure we'll learn more about them in ML (if it ever comes out...)

Marluxia's past with his sister could be explored via flashbacks. Although, I would not write him to be a time travelling amnesiac Keyblade wielder. I don't even think that's the backstory they had in mind when Days was written. Ventus, Lauriam, and Elrena were probably just aspiring Keyblade wielders from Scala ad Caelum. We would learn that Marluxia wanted to acquire the Keyblade and the Replica Program to resurrect Strelitzia, whom Ventus killed when he became possessed by Darkness. And Larxene was his accomplice because she had feelings for him as a human.

We could also explore the apprentices' past and go more into detail regarding their relationship with Ansem the Wise. Also, the experiments of the heart. I would change Subject X to Kairi. Kairi was experimented on as a child and locked up in the Chamber of Repose. I would use those dark memories to draw a connection to Namine, Kairi's shadow. After Lea and Isa had a chance meeting with Kairi after sneaking into the castle, they became apprentices to save her and got experimented on themselves, which I certainly think was strongly hinted at in Days. That part of the story needed to be fleshed out. We needed to learn about how Isa got his scar and the meaning of Axel's tear marks.

Season 3: A KH2 retelling. It could incorporate a lot of additional stuff that was only in the novels/manga. The Saix vs. Axel fights, more of what Riku was up to behind the scenes, etc. Re:Coded is...really not necessary. Just the letter that Mickey wrote to Sora is required.

Season 5: A BBS retelling. You could also include the stuff from 0.2 as well. Like Aqua being stranded in the Dark Realm.

Season 4: A Dark Road retelling. DR always felt like a visual novel more than a video game anyways. They could flesh out Xehanort's classmates, Master Odin, and go into more detail about how YX descended into darkness. An animated adaptation could actually finish that story. Also, the stuff from Back Cover could be included in this season.

Season 6: A KH3 retelling. Some of the stuff from DDD could be included, but DDD doesn't deserve its own season IMO. DDD was originally just the beginning part of KH3 anyway. There's a lot I would change about KH3's story. I already wrote an entire fanfic about that, so I won't go into detail here. But KH3 definitely should have felt like a much more conclusive finale than it did.
