I just finished ToA last night and here are some things I don't see nearly enough people talking about, specifically about the end of ToA so if you haven't read it this is your spoiler warning!!!
• Apollo not feeling right in his godly form and uncomfortable around the other olympians (not including Artemis)
• LEO CALLING JO "MOM" 🥺 (and Emmie and Jo in general) BUT HE HAS TWO MOMS NOW I LITERALLY STARTED CRYING ABOUT THIS LAST NIGHT
• Apollo visiting Percy and Annabeth in New Rome!!!
• AND they talk about Jason!!!!!! Annabeth cried herself to sleep
• honestly Apollo's whole battle with Python that shit was so cool
• obligatory fuck Calypso
• REYNA CALLING LEO "HERMANO" 🥹
• Meg standing up to Nero in his throne room!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH
• Rick's infallible ability to put EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. CHARACTER. in a relationship 💀 PEACHES HAS A LOVE INTEREST NOW???????? LET CHARACTERS BE SINGLEEEEE
• HAZEL'S CURSE IS GONE AND SHE CAN JUST LIKE USE HER JEWELS NOW!!! and Frank wants an engraved diamond necklace that says "H+F Forever" I love him so much...
• while we're on the topic of Frank!! WHY DOES NO ONE EVER TALK ABOUT HIS SACRIFICE AT THE END OF THE TYRANTS TOMB??? Like I knew that he would be fine but I still started like tearing up
• THE ARROW OF DODONA!!!
• how completely unaffected Zeus is by Jason's death??? Fuck you Zeus.
• Apollo's new kids at camp!!!

(Sorry for my bad english)
I saw a post saying that one of the reasons why leo and nico are short and physically weak(atleast for normal demigods) its because they passed for malnutrition
leo lived in the streets for some time and if im not mistaken him and Esperanza were not in the best financial conditions, and nico was homeless for a long time only eating junk food, also we have the jar thing
That got me a question what would happen after leo starts to live in the waystation, because jo and emmie are not leting their son ruin his own health and the same goes for nico but with will instead of them
Because like leo still a child of hephaestus and nico a child of the big three
What do you guys think? I want to hear you thoughts on that

The Copollogism Essays - Part 3: Lester's Reaction
This is a short scene, but a powerful one in my opinion. Let's break it down :3
Tumblr media
“His name is—” “Don’t, Meg,” Josephine warned. “—Commodus,” Meg continued, then frowned. “Why am I not supposed to say his name?” “He pays attention to such things,” I explained. “There’s no point in letting him know we are talking about—” Meg took a deep breath and yelled, “COMMODUS, COMMODUS, COMMODUS! COMMODE CITY, COMMODIANA. COMMODE DAY, MONTH OF COMMODES! COMMODE MAN!” The great hall shook as if the Waystation itself had taken offense. Emmie blanched. Up in their roost, the griffins clucked nervously. Josephine grumbled, “You shouldn’t have done that, hon.” Leo just shrugged. “Well, if Commode Man wasn’t watching this channel before, I think he is now.” “That’s dumb,” Meg said. “Don’t treat him like he’s so powerful. My stepfather—” Her voice caught. “He—he said Commodus is the weakest of the three. We can take him.” Her words struck me in the gut like one of Artemis’s blunted arrows. (And I can assure you, those hurt.) We can take him. The name of my old friend, shouted over and over. - The Dark Prophecy
Apollo calls Commodus his old friend. And while calling your lover your "friend" is usually gay-speak for significant other, in this case...it is referring to Commodus as a friend.
Because that was what they were- before they were even lovers, Apollo and Commodus were friends. Their relationship was that of friends-to-lovers (-to-enemies), and a tragic one at that.
Something small. But something so gut-wrenching too :')
Also amazing how even Apollo's carwreck of a relationship has platonic undertones. hello fandom of the aspecs we just keep winning <3
I staggered to my feet, gagging, my tongue trying to dislodge itself from my throat. “Whoa, Apollo.” Leo rushed to my side. “You okay?” “I—” Another dry retch. I staggered toward the nearest bathroom as a vision engulfed me…bringing me back to the day I committed murder. - The Dark Prophecy
This final line that ends the chapter has always struck me. It preludes to the assassination scene, but this is actually SO FACSINATING because the next chapter has this:
I KNOW WHAT YOU are thinking. But, Apollo! You are divine! You cannot commit murder. Any death you cause is the will of the gods and entirely beyond reproach. It would be an honor if you killed me! I like the way you think, good reader. It’s true I had laid waste to whole cities with my fiery arrows. I had inflicted countless plagues upon humanity. Once Artemis and I slew a family of twelve because their mama said something bad about our mama. The nerve! - The Dark Prophecy
Wait for it.
None of that did I consider murder.
These two lines combined paint SUCH a scene. Apollo at this point is still trying to convince us, the reader, how terrible of a person he is. That's why he's so blasé about the murder of Niobe's children.
That's why he's so distraught over murdering Commodus.
He tells us, straight-laced, that this act, this one act, was unjustifiable.
That is was more unforgiveable than slaughtering thousands of people.
But that's the kicker- we know it was wrong for Niobe's children to be killed, and we know it was right for Apollo to kill Commodus.
Apollo is trying to throw us off the trail. He's trying to make it look like he's okay with child murder/mass murder, but specifically him assassinating a tyrant is unforgiveable.
(hello, therapy? yeah i have a patient for you. yeah he's a piece of work but i have faith in him and also he's babygirl so. <3)
He's trying to be such a dichotomy we don't know what to do or say or think about him.
To bad for him, for the ToA fandom is quite good at catching his tells and slight of hand ;)
You ain't fooling us Apollo, just like you didn't fool Leo and Meg the very next day ;)

Little snippet from a oneshot I’m toying with:
It was 3 am, and Leo was just trying to get to the bedroom after finishing up his current magic object repair project in the workshop. As was the case with the Waystation sometimes, he tripped out of the front door instead.
That was just how it worked, living in a magic building. Sometimes it was convenient, like when someone was hurt and the Waystation made the infirmary appear in the next room, or when Leo and Calypso had needed space after their breakup and simply didn’t cross paths for a week. Sometimes, it was a little less convenient, like when the workshop was suddenly next to the bedroom so Jason only had to cross one room if he wanted to drag his sleep-deprived husband to bed. Once, when Leo had neglected maintenance for too long, the Waystation had dropped him into the pool fully clothed. It had an attitude like that.
Currently, Leo couldn’t think of anything he might have done to piss off the building, though, so there was probably a different reason why he’d ended up out here.
I love messing around with the Waystation, the concept of it is very fun to me. Anyone wanna guess what this fic is about?

Actually in my opinion Leo sometimes says to lityerses that he (lit) has a golden heart just annoy him, like when lit plays with georgina or when he helps someone doing something... Probably Lityerses hates that but who am i to judge (:
This is ✨️Brother love✨️ (i guess...)

fic where nico and will end up at the waystation and meet Emmy and Jo and nico has a happy breakdown because holy shit these are happy old queer people who fought against every odd and MADE IT. not just leaving the hunters, they wouldve been 'young' women when they left so for them to be in their 60's now they would have had to been in a relationship at least 40 years ago, including the AIDs epidemic.
consciously, he knew things were better for queer people now. but to see it? to see the space these two have been able to carve out for themselves and lead a happy life? to maybe think about how he could have that with will someday? when earlier in his life the idea of him being allowed that love would be inconceivable? have i asked enough rhetorical questions?
extra leo&nico friendship sprinkled in because i love them and also im not sure leo has even been informed they are dating. like he missed nico coming out entirely lmao. bro was busy being 'dead.'
will wouldnt be AS affected because he didnt have to grow up in the 30's and overcome as much internalized homophobia, but its still a moment for him. Gods is he thinking about him and nico's future together now.
it could also be written by the original non-changed-with-time books timeline where Percy was born in 1993 and the books take place in the 2000's and 2010's before gay marriage was legal in the US for extra emotion factor.
ANYWAYS old lgbt+ people make me feel So Many Things and i feel like they would make nico feel Things too. i regret to inform you i am almost guaranteed to never write this. if someone else likes the idea or parts of it they are absolutely free to use it!

Jo couldn’t sleep that night.
That was one of the things about being an immortal hunter- the memories of the years build up and up. Flashes of the things she’d seen peppered her troubled thoughts.
And still the same thought kept circling back.
Why did it have to be that thought?
Why couldn’t it just be a good old fashioned nightmare? They were demigods- immortal demigods at that- that usually came with a plethora of trauma to pick from, and Jo was no different. Okay, Brain, how about that first gunfight in the back alley behind that speakeasy, back before joining the hunters? Blood splattering the walls, brains blown out- all that good shit. Or perhaps seing Dad for the last time? That was usually a popular scene for Jo’s brain to replay.
So why, oh why did she have to keep thinking about that moment three weeks ago? It hadn’t even been anything significant! They’d just gone out in groups on regular patrol, Emmie had just worn that same old silver parka she always wore.
But by gods, she had looked so good.
Which was stupid, and Jo knew that. She’d seen Emmie naked before and it hadn’t bothered her. But with her hair unwashed and her face covered in mud, she had looked phenomenal. Jo had seen her in a new light. And that was bad.
She couldn’t be thinking that way. She was a hunter of Artemis. So was Emmie. They’d both sworn an oath, and they had meant to keep it for eternity. Even if Jo was open to change, even if they could change- Emmie had been a hunter for millennia. There was no way she’d betray Lady Artemis like that.
Jo kept tossing and turning on her bedroll, but eventually gave up, zipped open the mosquito net, and stepped out into the cool night air.
She walked out of their small circle of tents, picked her way through the forest to the nearby lake, hoping to splash her face in the cool water from the waterfall.
She got to the edge of the trees by the bank and froze.
There, sitting on the rocks in the moonlight- her raven hair glistening in the silvery glow reflecting off the water- was Emmie.
Gods, she was beautiful.
Jo tried to quietly slink away, but that ability had never been a perk of her physique. One step back was all it took before a twig went snap!- the sound echoing like a whip-crack around the valley.
Yeah, some hunter. Real stealthy, Josie.
Emmie turned, her dark eyes wide in the moonlight. She let out a soft gasp, but she didn’t look mad to see her. Or was Jo just wishing that?
There was silence for a few agonising moments.
Emmie was surely gonna cuss Jo out for snooping. She’d yell at her to go back to the tents- or worse, run and get Zoë. The Lieutenant was a toughie, and wouldn’t appreciate Jo being out of bed.
But instead, Emmie’s expression softened. She motioned for Jo to come towards her.
She looked like one of those sirens, sitting on that rock by the lake and the waterfall, and for a second Jo hesitated. Then she obeyed Emmie’s call.
“Couldn’t sleep?” Emmie asked.
Jo heaved a sigh, and sat down on the rock- careful to not be too close to her. But close enough. Just close enough. “Not a wink. Tried a couple times, but…”
“Yeah…” Emmie looked down, a little forlornly. Jo wondered what had made her come here, when they should be sleeping. Perhaps the perfect Emmie was plagued with nightmares too.
They stared at the rippling water, not saying anything.
Then Jo decided to open her clumsy mouth.
“Do you ever regret joining the hunters?”
Silence.
Fuck.
Emmie’s face was turned towards the lake, so Jo couldn’t read her expression.
Gods, that silence was deadly.
“Sorry, tha-that’s personal. Sorry,” Jo yelped, her voice quickening, “I-I mean, I definitely don’t regret it. Definitely. I mean, because, like, “regret” is a strong word. Poor choice in my opinion. I don’t know what I was thinking! Artemis, forgive me. I don’t regret it. No siree. Absolutely not-“
“Josephine-“
Emmie had turned to face her, the moonlight falling across half of her face. Her brow was twitching a little- a slight frown. But her voice was kind, and her lips broke into a hint of a smile when she said her name.
“Sorry-“
“It’s okay. I get it. I’ve wondered…” She looked down, so her face was in shadow, “I… I mean… I don’t… but I get wanting to ask others. Because I’ve thought…” She turned back away from Jo, the cold glow of the moonlit lake splashing across her graceful features, “But Lady Artemis has been so kind. She has blessed me with so many wonders. I c-can’t just…” She faltered.
“I thought I was okay with it, y’know?” Jo said, “Giving up love.”
Emmie’s eyes scanned the wide expanse of the lake. “We’re not giving up love,” she said, “We’re giving up romance. We still have familial love. Sisterhood. We have Artemis to guide us.”
Jo felt her fingers creeping closer to Emmie’s hand. She tried to stop it, she really did. But she wanted to feel Emmie’s gentle yet strong hands cupped in her own meaty ones.
“Yeah but what if-“ Jo’s voice was barely a whisper now, “What if we want more?” As she spoke, courage entered her voice. She could talk to Emmie about anything. She could do this, “Th-Than sisterhood, I mean. What if we want romance?”
Emmie turned to look at her. Jo half expected to be met with a look of disgust, but instead Emmie’s eyes scanned Jo’s dark features comprehensively, like she was trying to understand a difficult textbook.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean like-“ Jo grabbed her by the waist and pulled her tight into a side-hug so that they were sitting looking out at the lake. Jo gestured across the sky, laying out the vision in front of Emmie’s eyes, “Family. A house. Kids playing in the backyard. Food on the stove. Dinner around a hardwood table. A workshop in the basement with lots and lots of power tools. And someone-“ she snuck a glance at the girl next to her, “Someone special to spend it with. Someone who smiles and puts their head on your shoulder as you watch your sleeping children through the crack in the door and marvel at how much they’ve grown. Someone who you swore to spend your life with, who- who-“
Jo stuttered, gesticulating wildly, trying to convey the magic of her dream. She waited for Emmie to tell her she was ridiculous. That that could never happen. Not for someone like her.
But to her surprise, Emmie just sighed and rested her head on Jo’s shoulder, nuzzling her neck.
“That would be nice. If we could.”
If only we could, Jo thought.
But they’d both sworn an oath. Made a vow.
So they couldn’t.
Jo didn’t want to be a hunter. She wanted that dream life, that home, that family.
But she could never have it with someone she loved. Not while living openly as who she was. Back when hen she had pretended to be a man, she could get away with the girls and the flirting. But she couldn’t keep pretending. Not forever.
But she couldn’t tell the truth either.
The Hunters had been an escape, a way to run from what Jo really felt, instead of confronting it. Because swearing off the company of men and going celibate was easier than facing the truth.
But that didn’t change who she was.
Emmie looked up at her with her beautiful eyes. “Jo…” She whispered, almost inaudible. But in the stillness of the lake, it seemed to echo off the mountains.
Her face was close. Too close. Not for sisterhood. Not for friends. Not for abstinence, celibacy, the vow they made in the name of the maiden goddess.
Jo had always been loud and hyperactive, her brain running at a million miles an hour. In the few moments between Emmie’s whisper and what happened next, she had run through every possible scenario in her head.
Artemis walks in from the clearing and sees them, too close for sisterhood. The other hunters show up, ready to bathe. One of their hunting dogs spots them while on patrol and informs Zoë. A lovecraftian sea monster rises from the lake and attacks. A poacher mistakes them for a deer and shoots them.
But then Emmie’s lips were on hers, and none of that mattered anymore.
________
So I am aware that I have not posted any sort of fic since August.
Things have been super busy right now (haha I’ve NOT been doing well) and reading TSATS is going slow, and I haven’t had much energy or motivation to write.
That being said, I dug this out of my WIPs and finished it up. I felt in the mood for something sweet and sapphic, and there are virtually no fics about just Emmie and Jo, but they have so much potential- I just had to write something.
Not sure how old they are in this because the Hunters are supposed to be young girls, but Jo’s backstory as a gangster made it sound like she was at least of age (otherwise that’s a VERY concerning backstory). I feel like this is classic “Rick not thinking it through” but it does make it harder to write a longer fic when I don’t have a feasible timeline.

So Lit’s story. He would offer people food, wine, and a place to rest. Then he would challenge them to a harvesting contest. When they would (inevitably) lose, he would kill them. Presumably by decapitating them with a scythe or sickle. (Keep in mind, this was at his father’s orders, Midas would send any “unfavorable” visitor to be disposed by Lit)
He offered the same thing to Heracles, but when Heracles lost and Lit tried to kill him, Heracles killed Lit instead, because Heracles knew how Lit’s games worked.
Now onto personal headcanons.
I headcanon Lit to be gay. I think he totally seduced Heracles with that scrawny hick body. And I also think Lit wasn’t actually going to kill Heracles— but when Heracles lost and pulled that sword (or sharp farming tool) on Lit, Lit felt a little pissy and betrayed and reacted with anger. And long story short “I actually enjoyed your company and wasn’t gunna kill u like I killed everybody else” didn’t work on Heracles.
I think that would explain why Lit is such a sad and angry boy.
He was following his dads orders and got killed for it. So when he was brought back to serve Gaia he wasn’t willing to trust anyone and was even more violent. He was then essentially ‘conscripted’ into Commodus’s army. (And Commodus compares Lit to Apollo which may imply that Commodus took Lit into his bed). It makes sense that he would be confused by being offered a second chance at well… anything. Anyone in his place would respond with that kind of complete emotion shut down (the silent sobbing in the corner as he slid down a wall).

why does no one talk about how good of a haunted house the waystation would be (because no one talks about the waystation)
we’ve got:
• a kid who can control fire (self explanatory + no fire hazards!)
• another one who can control the winds (a dramatic wind at your back) who can also sing crazy good
• one of the best bladesmen in history who is also a trained killer (no actual murder involved though)
• a LITTLE GIRL (famously terrifying) who’s scarily good at acting insane
plus there’s the little fact that the waystation changes at the will of it’s caretakers AND said caretakers are these sweet old ladies who are just like “have fun 🥰” and you think “oh how bad can this be”
BAD
SO BAD

hi Ali! im looking for a new narrative podcast to get into, what's your current rec list? :)
Oh god it’s so long 😂
Horror:
Human Error - this one is mine so of course I’m recommending it 😂 it’s about a found family of survivors going on a road trip during a zombie apocalypse 12 years after the world ended!
We’re Alive - also zombie horror and was the show that got me into audio dramas! It’s very long and looks overwhelming but I promise it’s good!
Darkest Night - anthology horror where you find out how people died but each case is actually related and there is a bigger mystery and this show lives in my head rent free lol
The Waystation - found footage style show about a group of people on a space station that all died (the story is trying to piece together what happened). It’s along the same lines as The White Vault
DERELICT - a research group are studying a door at the bottom of the ocean, and then shit goes sideways. I binged this series super fact and I need season 2 immediately lol
The Eleventh Hour episode called The City of Statues - I made this! It’s about a group of survivors trying to make it out of a city filled with statues trying to hunt them down 👀
Someone Dies in this Elevator - mix of horror and thriller I think. It’s an anthology series where every episode someone dies in an elevator 👀 I composed for a few episodes and it’s v fun 🤩
Thriller
The Liberty Podcast - made by the same folks behind The White Vault and VAST Horizon. It’s an anthology series of stories taking place within and surrounding a tower where a civilization lives. Some episodes might lean more towards horror but I personally consider it more thriller
The Walk - made by the same folks behind zombies run! In this show you the listener are the main character, an individual making their way across Scotland with a package they were mistakenly delivered. I love this show so much omg
Primordial Deep - scientists are finding extinct dinosaurs alive and well under the ocean and they’re trying to figure out what the fuck is going on. I fucking love this show omg
Spines - woman wakes up in the middle of a cult ritual with no memories and is trying to figure out who she is and where she came from. Also there are powers!
Mirrors - same person behind Spines! Three women from three different centuries (who are all related to each other) discover they can communicate with each other through ghost like figures. It has a bigger mystery and the ending made me cry it was so good
InCo - a woman finds a prince from a world that shouldn’t exist floating in space. This show is a delight and is a micro series and I love the humor within it so much omg
Where the Stars Fell - the Antichrist is roommates with their guardian angel and they’re trying to stop the rapture
DUST - anthology series about science fiction and technology! Season 3 is definitely my favorite as it is one story but the entire show as a whole is very good
Feel Good/Light Hearted Shows
Unseen - this show lives in my head rent free and I ache for it to be real. It’s about magic existing in the real world and is an anthology! It’s made by the same folks behind Wolf 359
Joy to the World - holiday series I helped produce! It’s about an astronaut named Joy talking with different people on Earth about the holidays! It’s an anthology and v warm and I highly recommend it as a holiday series
Sidequesting - a person who is totally not the hero is avoiding the main plot and going on a bunch of side quests! It’s charming and lovely and made by the wonderful Tal
Back Again, Back Again - a woman is retelling her stories of his magical world she was transported into and about the prophecy she became involved in
If none of these are your jam lmk and I can suggest some more! If you tell me what you like to listen to/what kinds of stories you enjoy I can make a more personalized list

As the number one lityerses fan here is a list of places I think he might be because Rick left us on a cliffhanger with him:
Living at the waystation taking care of camp Jupiters elephants (as said in his wiki)
Being a big bro for Georgina and Leo even tho he would never openly admit it because he feels guilty for leaving Zoe behind (not zoe nightshade)
Visits Meg in Palm Springs and tries to keep in touch with Apollo whenever he can
Leo brings him to camp half-blood and he awkwardly explains how he is centuries years old and maybe immortal? He’s not to sure on it
Apologizing to Piper about Jason and flirting with her, he know he can’t bring Jason back nor say he tried to avenge him but he still wants to makes amends with everyone he hurt
Bonus: while at camp will and the rest of the apollo kids help heal some of his scars and he cries like a big ol baby because he isn’t used to attention
