nothing to be, nothing to find 🌤️

i felt inspired to write this post after some chats and that annual feeling of new year urgency to come up w something new, to rebrand yourself. to find yourself and show up as that best version. while its all very positive, it can all become so much pressure quite easily

i thought about it myself, is there more to discover about myself ? should i “rebrand” and become someone new ?

the more i considered it the more i realized, for me, its more the opposite actually. the real question i want to ask is how do i let go of this ego identity more and more ? who is it that i think i am ? and how can i surrender that, so that i may be able to flow more naturally with the river of life ?

we cling on so much to identities, and aesthetics, and self branding bc it gives the ego something to problem solve, something to work towards. if i’m no longer who i always thought i was, then who am i ? its a question that scares the ego, so instead we create these ideas of our perfect self, we think there’s more to be discovered about who we are… when in truth it was never that complicated.

i am. i am pure conciousness, i am pure unconditional love. but anything else i choose to put beyond “i am” is merely a dream, an idea that i chose to latch onto and call mine. a way to keep me limited, disconnected from the unlimited being that truly animates this body, giving light to this dream called “life”

but when all of those labels, all of those ideas of “this is how i am” and “this is who i am”… melt away, whats left ? emptiness, in the most whole way possible. the ability to experience and do and be anything, bc there is no longer a weight of “this is who i am therefore this is who i must be.”

a sense of loss of identity is a gaining of freedom, unconditional love, pure and utter bliss. suddenly nothing is holding you back, theres no pressure to live up to some ideal you made up for yourself, because there is no one you have to be anymore. and like that, you enter heaven on earth.

just complete and utter openness. suddenly life is everything you have ever wanted because, without all of those egoistic ideas of who you thought you are, you naturally flow towards the purest desires of your heart. suddenly life is truly your waking dream, and all you did was allow it. all you did was stop holding onto the ego’s ideas of an identity and realize there is no identity beyond i am.

because i am is everything.

do not be afraid to lose your idea of self, because behind that image of who you think you are, leads to you everything you ever truly wanted. 🫧

When literally any other popular game IP gets an indie spiritual successor based on it, fans of those IPs are all like "wow, I'm happy to see another game similar to this other game that I enjoy. I am excited to see what new ideas this indie game brings to that old formula".

When the same thing happens to Pokemon or Zelda, Pokemon and Zelda fans throw a temper tantrum, and sling the word "plagiarism" around without knowing what it even means.

Not even Sonic fans do that shit...

I don't even think it's a Nintendo fan thing either, cuz even Mario fans are pretty chill when Paper Mario or SMRPG gets a new indie successor.

It's always the Pokemon and Zelda people.

In fact, I'm pretty sure the only time Zelda fans were accepting of an indie adaptation was when Arzette came around.

Edit: Actually nevermind, Yu-Gi-Oh! fans do this too with any other card game that exists, ugh.
