Shift on a decade and a half and figure how far forward we go on "old fashioned things". They bring in some campaign buttons for 1940 and 1952, and an old television. Funny that we still have Mickey Mouse. Kind of.

Is there a subtle shift with "rules" getting downgraded to "ideas"?

Here's our first look at orange Salem and Cousin Ambrose, back when he was grown up! And a fun story to boot! Sabrina has officially transitioned to her "I just want to be normal" phase, and you can't not feel bad for her as she tries to fit in! Thankfully, Ambrose stops Hilda from ruining the party with The Archies!

just watched the riverdale finale. keep in mind that I watched season 1 and the first couple episodes of season 2 and then abandoned ship. I do not know character names for new characters. I'm also kind of curious if the gang exists anymore and if so what place they have in the 1950s timeline

From It Ain't Me Babe, precursor to Wimmen's Comix, written by the "Ain't Me Babe Basement Collective", including the late Trina Robbins. Neither Betty or Veronica made the cover.

Andddd we're back! Here we go with our first Lil' Sabrina story, "Monkey Business" (Lil' Archie #74, October 1972)! Lil' Sabrina feels like such a lovable scamp, I wonder if these stories inspired "Sabrina The Animated Series"!

Roxy loves Stephen Sprouse! Or at least, someone from the Jem design team decided to dress her in his styles. I wonder if it's because Roxy bears a passing resemblance to Blondie's Debbie Harry, a close friend and muse of the designer (they were even roommates at one point).

Not only did the Jem team base Roxy's arrow vest outfit on a Dep gel ad featuring a Sprouse vest, but Roxy's original fashion—with the pink and green lettered pants—also mirrors graffiti-inspired looks from his AW 1984 collection (below, right) for which he drew black letters over vibrant silks and adorned them with sequins, masterfully combining elements of glamour and punk (a style that I think also describes The Misfits pretty well).

A few years ago, a Jem fan (Krista) on Facebook shared a screenshot from this David Lee Roth music video "Just a Gigolo," and another fan (Heather) identified the pants as Sprouse pants, saying she always wanted a pair! Here's a gif I made of the scene in the video where the pants make an appearance:

Here's the Roxy doll that Integrity Toys produced in 2013. I see it as an homage to the sequins that Sprouse used frequently in his designs:

A Jem fan friend of mine wanted a cartoon-based faux leather version of Roxy's original pants for their Integrity Toys doll, so in 2014 I made a patent pleather version with the scattered letters design:

Fun fact: Sprouse's influence expanded to the Archie universe as well! Here's a scan I did of a comic book that I bought a couple years ago:

Here's a scan from inside the same comic. A character named Dexter creates colourful graffiti-sprawled outfits for Betty and Veronica for their upcoming Archies tour.
