There's 3 ways the entire Baker estate was built and I can't imagine any of them,

1. The Bakers hired a contractor who agreed to build several hidden walk ways behind walls, a mourge, a disection room, etc.

2. This lil old elderly couple built it all by hand SOMEHOW

3. Lucas built everything himself

I feel like this would be impossible ESPECIALLY with just a three year time gap between when Eveline arrived and Ethan showed up (Bc I can't think of a reason this older couple would just have a disection room)

There's just no genuine thing I could think of for how half of their stuff would be realistically built (I know it's just a game but the real world aspects rlly interest me)

Anyone else got any theorys on how it could have all been built?

Resident Evil 7 was So Flesh, Corruption, Web, Eye, Dark, Spiral, Stranger and Slaughter coded. All Ethan needs to start the apocalypse is a few more encounters and he can Start the apocalypse.

On Ethan Winters and the Baker Family, I think that their perspective is actually incredibly interesting for the franchise. While the rest of the main characters (and a lot of the side characters tbh) did live fairly normal lives before they were drastically effected by bio-terrorism in some way, they were pretty much all still in law enforcement/protection shit anyway. Like, in one way or another they were going to be putting their lives on the line and probably be traumatized by their work at some point.

However, Ethan was just a dude. He was this random fucking guy from LA and completely out of the sphere of general potential threat like that. He happened to marry a lady who was working with bioweapons, and even then he had zero fucking clue on any of it until he was thrown head first into the deep end. The Baker family had genuinely zero connections to bioweapons pre Eveline. Maybe they were a bit dysfunctional, or maybe they were super normal.

That vulnerability of him not having any real combat experience or training and the fear of having one's life fall apart is part of what made 7 so scary for me. That and it was incredibly interesting to see what happened to the Baker Family as well. It's both horrifying and heartbreaking to think that they were just trying to help a little girl and their lives were ruined because of it. That one act turned their home into a murder den and their family into literal monsters, simply because they were trying to be kind.

I know resident evil isn't exactly a franchise that's well known for its explorations into trauma in any real way, and the focus is on people actively in the field since that's where most of the action and horror happens, but I think Ethan and the Bakers open up a really good potential for perhaps more civilian perspective. We're shown time and time again that this shit will destroy cities, and yet we don't really have a game that focuses on civilians. It would be a great source of potential for horror to maybe explore more of those perspectives. There are many many ways this could be done that differ from Ethan's initial experience in 7 that combine both that classic RE survival horror and action.

However, I'm very aware that this likely will not happen. Still, it's a nice thought.

the baker incident is so-, had jack and marguerite baker not been corrupted and driven crazy by the mold they would've spoiled eveline rotten, eveline was so scared of rejection that she removed their choice not knowing they would've become her family of their own accord in a heartbeat, she was so risk averse it makes me wonder about all the things they did to her before the boat ride, how many of her decisions sprouted from the limited knowledge of a child vs how many were derived from the mania the mold seems to give almost everyone

With "plot twist" you mean the Bakers (well, except for Lucas) being just as innocent as Ethan? Yeah, it´s a tragedy. They were a normal family once. A happy one. 😢

Not a Hero (continues Lucas´ story)

End of Zoe (continues Zoe´s and Jack´s story)

It´s nothing crucial or necessary going into Resi Village, but it´s nice to bring everything full circle.✌��

Mia drowned in the Annabelle it was destroyed on Oct 5th she was unconcious in the sea and she/ Evie weren't found by the Bakers until the 10th

Ethan though I'd argue he was infected before being stamped on by Jack (because he let out his death scream when Mia chopped his hand off)

Jack stabbed himself in daughters after trying to drown Marguerite

In response to this, I just wanted to say (with absolutely no hate/negativity to this person) that biohazard just... wasn't it.

Sending apologies to everyone who liked the game but I really didn't like 7. I hesitate to say things like "loathe" or "hate" even though that is how I feel about them, because I might like it later on down the line.

I don't dislike it because it was "scary" - actually it wasn't the least bit scary to me. I found it boring, dull, a little confusing at times, and frustrating because the game doesn't exactly tell you how to do things other than the basics. It wasn't particularly fear-inducing to me though. I wasn't able to finish it because I was having to force myself to want to play it - I'm here for the fun, not for serious hardcore no-saves speedruns or whatever.

I think one of the few things I liked about the short amount of re7 that I played was the fact that you could use the axe to smash up the mannequins and boxes lol, even if it gave you nothing. I'm aware (as a good friend of mine told me), that the mannequins move so perhaps that's why they're breakable.

But overall? I don't like it. I wouldn't recommend it to people who want to play the series, especially when you can skip biohazard and go straight from 6 to 8 without needing to play 7 to fully understand what's going on. Like, as long as you know the very basic lore of 7, I don't think you even have to consider playing it at all.

Again, all personal opinions, if you like the game that's totally fair and I'm glad you found enjoyment out of it!!! ^^

I absolutely love Ethan as an RE protagonist. I don't know why but his character just feels so much more realistic compared to the others. The panicked way he responds to things, the utter confusion, the sheer fear, and the fact that he's basically only running on adrenaline and pushing through because of it.

The way he loses two fingers and half a hand, and just pours chem fluid on it and keeps going. The way those hooks were embedded in his palms and he just ripped them off and kept going. The fact that he's literally only able to keep going and not collapse from blood loss due to his emotions. All to save his baby. So much so that he actually ends up giving his life just to rescue her - his determination shows how great of a father he truly is.

Village is truly a terrifying game, I'd argue it incorporates way more aspects of horror in it than the others. Capcom did a fantastic job with it.

Hey! I'm Winnie! I recently got into Re8 a couple months ago and it got me interested in playing Re7.

Re7 was my first horror game and it became my most favorite game ever!!! I made this account to post what I do but to also interact with the community and hopefully make some friends who also like Re7+Re8 and making art! I'm still relatively new to Resident Evil, so I'm still catching up on all the games, but I've played Rose's dlc and all of the Re7 dlcs! I also have a stack of a bunch of other art to post! those will be coming sometime soon
