Things I have realized/just noticed while rewatching Good Omens Season 2

Episode 6 🥲

Beel cleaned up before arriving at the bookshop because they were told that Gabriel was there

Beelzebub says "look at you, you're perfect" to the fly that stores Gabriel's memories and this parallels Crowley saying "look at you, you're gorgeous" when he was working on space

^ could also be foreshadowing that ineffable bureaucracy will happen but the husbands won't (yet)

Beel's hopeful smile as Gabriel starts to recognize people

When everyone is arguing, Gabriel and Beelzebub have THEIR ARMS AROUND EACH OTHER'S WAISTS

THE FUCKING SMILE THAT AZI GIVES CROWLEY WHEN HE MENTIONS HOW HES ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO ALPHA CENTAURI

The way that Aziraphale stiffens up when he first starts to talk to the Metatron

So we know that Nina and Maggie are meant to be a parallel to Azi and Crow. And Nina calling Maggie "angel" shows that they are able to slowly approach the romance becaue of their communication with each other. That is why they want the other 2 to talk to each other

Muriel picked up the phrase "jolly good" from Azi

After Crowley walks out and the metatron comes back, AZIRAPHALE HAS TO TURN AROUND TO WIPE HIS EYES- HE STARTED CRYING

When the metatron asks Azi if he needs to bring anything with him, Aziraphale looks out the window, searching for Crowley

👻 Holiday fics... *goes and checks Ao3* Okay I almost choked on my own laughter when I realized that my only actual published fic that features a holiday prominently is "the terror of knowing what the world is about," in which Will Byers has PTSD around July 4th. But in much cuter news, I do have a sequel planned to "Practiced at the Art of Deception" where Eliot's daughter celebrates Jewish holidays with the Leverage OT3 (because Hardison is Jewish. Obviously.) OH and then in the aforementioned trope bingo royalty AU various holidays are celebrated because the whole thing takes place over like 2 years. But probably my favorite scene takes place the night before Ramadan.

🏅 I'm proud of all my fics! But probably the two I'm proudest of are my Leverage/Lord of the Rings crossover/fusion "by light of moon and ray of star." I did a deep dive back into the Tolkien mythos and I'm really proud of how I managed to combine these two very different universes. And then also "A Lot of Space Between Your Ears," my Good Omens heist fic because comedy is hard and trying to write like Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is hard and I wrote it in like 3 weeks. And it makes me laugh. In WIP pride, it has to be the royalty AU, which I have worked on for so long and tried so hard to make everything that it is work.

☕️ I am always drinking something, but it's not specific for writing. Sometimes I write on the bus or otherwise Out, so that's not much. But I at least have water and often have tea. If it's hot, sometimes I'll have a smoothie. If it's late, sometimes I'll have a glass of Alcohol.

❓ okay, this is fun. Let me see... This is hard! I feel like everything I think of is either too obvious or too general... Like if I mention anything about crime it’s probably Leverage and anything about monsters it’s probably Stranger Things. But “person comes out only to be told that the person they came out to is also queer” is like 3 fics. “Emotionally intimate dancing in a club” is two! And “stop lying to your partner(s)” is 3!

Alright! I have thought about it, and I’m going to go with “the best time for [character] to get basic sex ed was 20 years ago. The second best time is now!”

Can we go back to this for a sec? To Aziraphale having to explain the concept of being in love to the other angels? Because I cannot imagine what a trip it has to be, falling in love with someone when that is literally not something you are supposed to be able to do. When it is something you barely understand. When the object of whatever this is isn't supposed to be able to feel this way either, except as time goes on you start to realize it's happening to him too. And neither of you can actually talk to each other about it.

That the Bible verse on the matchbox is from the story of Job

The fact that Beelzebub is making all of hell search for their beloved Gabriel

Obsessed with lovers and piners calling the object of their affections their best friend. Like yessss blur the lines between platonic and romantic love. show how important they are to you in a multifaceted way. Cover up your feelings with another kind of love that is just as true. One type of love does not negate the other and but tragedy can rip both out from under you single handedly, and it will hurt so much more that way. Losing a friend and a lover. Gaining both and not needing any labels for what they are. Using labels but having it be so much more than a title. Were they friends before they were lovers? Or were they lovers whose friendship grew inside of their love? Unclear! Who cares!

Hi folks. There seems to be a lot of confusion about what we as fans can and can't do with the striking happening. So I made a flowchart.

Let me make this SUPER DUPER EXTRA CLEAR. Unless an AMPTP studio reaches out and says "We would like to give you X (money/swag/whatever) to create content for us" (that would include writing or acting in anyway on your part) you will NOT be crossing a picket line.

Cosplay, fanart, fanfic, going feral, sharing marketing posts, watching your favorite show, getting your friends to watch your favorite show, etc does not count.

It is ONLY scabbing if you are getting REIMBURSED by the STUDIO.

The studios benefit from us being confused. The studios benefit from us not promoting and not watching and cancelling our subscriptions. The unions, the actors, the writers, they all benefit from us promoting in their absence, they get paid when we watch the shows, we bolster their argument when we boost the shows numbers. If we make the media popular and successful the studios have to meet the writers and actors at the table, and the writers and actors will be in the position of power.

i vote that next year instead of reading Dracula we do a Jeeves & Wooster Book Club. those two never got the rabid tumblr shipping fandom they deserved (disqualified for the sheer technicality of being published a century too soon). we must correct this injustice
