Basically you take a character who already craves violence and give her an amulet that sometimes turns her evil, meaning she's probably gonna crave even MORE violence, so that's fun :3

So Clover loves quality time, she's the type to want to just hang out in silence while she does her own thing. She is a gal of few words but very expressive.

Maris loves to be annoying and just talk, sharing things she thinks are funny when they're really not. He also loves casual touch, which is why he's lying right across the others.

Imamu is a gift-giver, making custom bracelets for their friends or giving them funny little doodles that aren't really anything but he was thinking of his friends when he drew it so it counts.

michael whelan barsoom covers are always like. well that isn't really a moment that happened in the book and those girls sure are very boobs-and-butt posed and i don't know if i agree with every detail of depiction--but then you suffer through a legion of art with white girls and guys with hideous hair and white apes drawn like gorillas and etc and you go back like. michael you are the best in class you get a gold star

Surina was right. Her sister hadn’t been involved—at least, not in the way Valcyis suggested, with any sort of malicious intent. She expected to feel vindicated, but any validation was eclipsed by her sorrow, smothered by the grief and guilt that poured off her sister and filled the room with air that was hard to breathe.

For the first time since returning, it made Surina feel steady on her feet—it made her focused. For once, she could be sure of something. Amysic was always the monster; it was his machinations that sucked everyone else into his whirlpool of deceit. Their problems began and ended with him. It wasn’t vengeance anymore, it was clearing the way for an uncomplicated future. It was justice.

She understood becoming so single-minded you lost sight of everything else. That had been her anger. For Thava, it was her ambition, stoked by their parents’ judgement. Their trauma had become an heirloom, passed from Landgrave to Landgrave. 

Surina hugged Thava close. She would protect Thava from Amysic, and Thava from herself.

she's pretty disciplined so this is hard....im gonna say that monotonous gear-checks and checking in with the clan head get more annoying after awhile, esp after meeting gale - gear checks bc now she has things outside of her oath that she cares abt doing, and meeting with the clan head bc. hes her ex-husband and he can be annoying about her little wizard boytoy even when he's trying to be nice (he doesnt hate gale he just thinks of him like a squeak toy tbh) 19. their top 3 songs on repeat

Maha Kali Talon Abraxas

Symbolism

Kali symbolizes the death of the ego in the ultimate goal of human life in Hindu dharma — moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth). Kali is the embodiment of time (kaala) and the female form of Shiva (Kaala). Her name literally means “she who is black”.

Kali is said to live in cemeteries amid decaying corpses, reminding us that our world is nothing but a cemetery where all things that are born must decay and die. She wears a garland of skulls to show us that we too must cut asunder the skeletons in our closet. She gives us the implements for our own personal excisions. She drips blood while consuming all of creation. She reminds us that every minute is constantly destroyed in the cycle of time.

We must rise above this manifested world to see Her in her infinitude, just as Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, that great saint of Bengal, saw her. He found in her “the benign all-loving Mother.” He felt in her breath “the soothing touch of tender love and saw in her the seed of immortality.”

Born of Vishnu’s sense organs or perhaps the composite of Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva and the glory of the devas, she encourages us to come to our senses through teachers like Sri Ramakrishna. “You see her only as black because you are far away from her. Go near and you will find her devoid of all color….The nearer you come to God, the more you will realize that (God) has neither name nor form.”

11 and 20 for the D&D characters!

Ooooohhh okay!! Going to list them in the order I made them!

Datura: halfling ranger, retired bounty hunter, my first dnd character!

11. Now that they're retired, the people that know Datura know that they love animals, know a lot about nature, and always have an open home to any strays (animal or the rogue bard, love you Thava). They also loves to cause a bit of mischief to keep their stealth skills sharp

20. Datura would be most comfortable in the cozy layered clothes her family wore, but after years of working and constant travel she wears her armor almost 24/7.

Dirith: dwarf fighter, scholar track.

11. My sweet girl Dirith is know by her family as a stubborn traitor, but by her friends as a dedicated person who's very passonate about education and equal opportunity. To a stranger she'd appear a bit awkward and intimidating, but earnest.

20. Dirith is most comfortable in soft, layered clothes, like tunics and wraps. She prefers not to wear shoes, and almost always has her hair up.

Durill: cow centaur barbarian (art of her in progress right now actually! But also here!)

11. Durill comes off as pretty intimidating to people that don't know her, but her town and her honorary family know that she's fiercely protective, but extremely gentle and kind. The kids use her as a climbing gym and the village grandma's try to smother her with home cooked meals. But they all know they can rely on her when something goes wrong.

20. Honestly Durill was raised in the middle of the plains by a bunch of centaurs and is mostly in the middle of nowhere with her herd of cattle not what they're a rancher, so they're not big on clothes, but she's got her vest and her hat and her blanket under her saddlebags, and a bandana from a friend.

Dwanir: Half-orc fighter

11. Dwanir is the black sheep of the family, but only because her moms are both bards. They love her very much. She's very much golden retriever energy, a bit overwhelming to strangers, but well loved by her friends.

20. Dwanir has her signature armor, and a snarling wolf helmet (carved to look like her dire wolf 'puppy' Pebble), but she's most comfortable in big skirts and sundresses, even if she wears armor over them sometimes.
