Do u have headcanons about or what do you think about a 90s or 00s AU (maybe) where Curly Shepard is a punk and Ponyboy a goth or a babybat? ^_^ Like imagine purly but ponyboy tries to show his obsession for edgar allan poe and curly or the gang JUST DON'T GET IT 😭

(for context who dont know, baby at is the name for like ppl who r newly goth basically, theyre just starting out listening to music n stuff like that)

•since curly is punk here and the whole idea of punks is essentially anti establishment and love individuality i will NOT make him make fun of pony for being goth, especially when hes a babybat hes just embracing himself

•also curly is curly i feel like hes a bit morbid himself and would be at the very least interested in edgar allen poe, so even if he wasnt punk he wouldnt make fun of pony for liking him, even if he does thats just bc hes being friendly and just does NOT like poetry

•ill place this in like, late 90s and early 2000s, so there is that huge thing against goths and punks for being ‘weird’ and against god or something along those lines

•curlys pretty used to being targeted for being different for his punk style and such while pony isnt exactly used to that so i imagine that hes more protective while ponys trying to figure himself out in that regard

•some bands pony would b interested in is evanescence, the cure, and siouxsie and the banshees, london after midnight, of course there IS more but these r like more so his favs

•how pony found out about gothic bands was like, a song was playing in darrys car radio and darry didnt rlly like it so he changed it but the song was already stuck in ponys head

•he brought it up to curly but pony was just like ‘idk maybe itll pass’, it in fact DID not pass and later they was just chillin in curlys car and the song came back on the radio and pony was like ‘neuron activated’

•curly was personally not rlly into the song, but hey, ponys happy so its whatever

•personally i imagine that pony doesnt have a gothic STYLE more so he has a love for gothic songs and literature, yknow what i mean??? but maybe he does borrow some clothes from curly thats more on the gothic side or thrifts some clothes

•other than edgar allen poe, he does like phantom of the opera, frankenstein, dracula, carmilla, dr jekyll and mr hyde, also he would like ruby gloom (thank my gf for this hc)

•his art style is kinda influenced by those media actually

•as for what type of goth he is i could mostly see him being like a geek goth, but he is interested in the looks of victorian goths and gothabilly goths

•tbh, not much to add for this guy, punk curly is literally just regular curly but more understanding of who he is and what he wants in the world yknow??

•he is from a haitian household tho and haitian moms especially tend to be more, religious and all that jazz, so while tim and angela get their ears yelled off for well being them, its especially happening to curly bc in his moms eyes hes “turning away from god” n what not being a “vagabon” as many haitian moms would put it

•he likes customizing his own clothes, he thrifts and gets a bunch of hand me downs so might as well make them look cooler

•hes a graffiti artist and hes acc pretty well known, everyone knows its him but they dont rlly say anything cause 1) hes curly shepard but 2) his work rlly isnt that bad actually

•i could totally see him liking green day and he does NOT like fall out boy but he does like a coulle of songs from them (much to his dismay

edit: if anyone saw a post where i was being all depressed because i lost the post i was working on. turns out tumblr did post it but my sleep deprived brain didnt think to check my posts !??! thats my bad

i make poor decisions when its late and i really shouldnt be playing gacha games because i get more impulsive then i usually am but also outside of 'i really want halloween riddle' i and someone else were praying for each others pulls (we both wanted riddle) and were gonna stay up until it did the daily reset to immediately start pulling so here i am (if you've seen my other posts you should know that it was also like this in HSR that I pulled Jade even though I didn't have an erudition built and didnt really want her but tired me thought ..what if i pulled and then i got her and then i didnt have pulls for jiaoqiu)

Result is, Halloween Rook (30 pulls) Halloween Riddle (60 pulls) and then since I was already there I decided to pull until 100 where I got Halloween Silver (100 pulls) its a good haul👍 but also rip all my pull savings. but also now i have all the cards i ever wanted (riddle as a fav and silver cause when i first started and looked at everyones card art his halloween one was really pretty) so like. this is good with me 🤷

anyway the only card remaining on my like. wish list(???) i guess is like. next main story card. erRr JP SpoiLeRS but Sebek Armor of Eternal Night or something like that. cause General Lilia duos with Sebek. but honestly not that big a deal sometimes i find dorm uniform sebek's as peoples support card

but thats less a want want and more i want him to make my cards strong instead of i just want to pull them i probably wont use them but like i want them (i probably will use them in the future but i need to build my main team first 💀)

in any case i do like sebek but also idk man

like. i set a bunch of goals of stuff i really wanted to do as a twst player when first starting which was really a bunch of ideals (like it didnt really seem possible and i figured id have to settle for less?) but like

i wanted halloween riddle and silver general lilia tropical wear riddle i got all of them

also i wanted to get every riddle card cause ppl were doing it for the favorites and i really liked riddle. so i got his birthday bloom. i do NOT have his other birthday cards because ooh boy i do not have the funds for that im perfectly content with my birthday bloom, one ssr at a time please. but so im content with that, still marking it was ok since tbh i dont really expect to get them all since i usually play f2p and also even i got all of them wtf do i do with them ???? but so check anyways for birthday bloom. but also besides that i literally got him in the first ten pull TWICE so like. i feel like that should count ?? cause that was stupid crazy luck 😭

and i wanted two dorm uniform cards who duo'd off of each other so i could have like two of them in one turn and it does the satisfying double duo thing when it switches between them attacking

which i can do. because i got dorm riddle when i first started, and i got dorm azul a bit ago who im working on getting the books for. so i can do that too.

and then i also wanted to be the kind of player who had a bunch of strong cards built that i could switch between a bunch of them for battles. which i do i just need to build them.

NRB Plays Call of Cthulhu - Part 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 Ivy Cordova

NRB's Call of Cthulhu series was what got me back into NRB, and into making NRB fanart! its very near and dear to my heart and i went a little bit insane trying to make this series of drawings the best they could be. but thats just on brand for lovecraft stuff i guess?

Ivy's portrait was only the second one I drew, so to a certain extent I was still figuring out how I wanted them to look! I designed her fairly similarly to how I would draw Holly, but with a slightly shorter hairstyle to suit the late-1920s time period. (i want to say its 1927? but idk where i got that from.) I figured that although Ivy is a performer, she seemed too calm and down-to-earth to be a flapper, so I went for a longer dress. the slits are probably historically inaccurate, but I added them cause I wanted to show her pose, pls forgive me 😔 The hands at the top represent accusation and perceived guilt, etc, etc. I thought itd be interesting to contrast halo/holy rays imagery with the accusation of a literal murder. thats it, no other thoughts tbh

re: my introduction to jjk honestly i can't exactly remember but think it was either a close online friend or my ex who mentioned hey theres this cool anime coming up i think it wld be up ur alley and i went o ! i will look ! so i DID and i saw the trailer i heard fuckin EVE saw i yuuji on that train bathed in blues and reds with sukuna's markings flashing over his face with the passing lights and it altered my brain chemistry and i have not looked back

as for itafushi i think it snuck up on me because hides face in shame tbh megumi was a character that I didn't like right away, it took a minute for him 2 grow on me ... i was very ambivalent towards him at the start, even leaning slightly towards the negative side of ambivalence bc his Type usually isn't the kind of char i gravitate towards,,, but IN MY DEFENSE I HAVE PULLED A COMPLETE 180 i have seen the error of my ways he now lives in my house in my brain in my heart i hold him so dear to me,,, n listen ik that the Tropes that he n yuuji occupy (genki protag/stoic voice of reason) are nothing new but they do it SO WELL n once i started rly paying attention to how the two of them bounce off of each other n are just very complementary (both in their positive and negative traits) as a duo i was like im_in_danger.gif

like from the jump their introduction to each other goes from zero to I Will Endanger Myself For You SO fuckin fast n i eat that. delicious. ALSO im fresh off season 2 like a year late but the episode that has them fighting alongside each other had me kicking and screaming re: how seamlessly they work tgt and navigate around each others' fighting styles and GO D i wish i was more articulate beyond just . points helplessly. those r my kids and i love them and i wish they could stop being so goddamn doomed by the narrative,,,, they r both insane and unhinged and suicidal self destructive maniacs but they care fr each other so much n respect each other so earnestly and i think thats beautiful :3

3. how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?

for jellatooo i think a lot of folks at the wild east would just be like. "oh yeah, the sheriff's boyfriend! he doesn't talk but he's real close with north star ☝️" HEHEHEHE he's just acquaintances with them, the kinda person who just waves in your direction if you say hi and thats it 😭 but they appreciate when jellato calms starlo down with just a tug on his hand (or a kiss to the cheek aha). plus he makes their sheriff happy, so he's good in their book 👍👍

as for reynold, i feel like a lot of the people at the manor would expect him to be stuck up since he's a noble but when they actually do talk to him they're like "huh. actually he's not that bad" HAHAHDNWND he has good manners ok..... and his music is nice to listen to so they're not complaining

9. who are your self insert's closest friends?

jellato's closest friends are, unsurprisingly, the feisty four and ceroba! maybe the feisty four took a bit to warm up to him (especially if starlo gave him special treatment 😭) but yk, just Look At Him. that guy has zero ill intent so ofc they accept him into the group!! they enjoy when jellato comes back from waterfall's dump with a bunch of movies for them to watch <3 i think ceroba and jellato have this silent truce like "thank you for making him happy" "thank you for taking care of him until i arrived" and they get along well

10. how do the other characters feel about your self insert and f/o's relationship?

yeah i can see them teasing starlo for being gay HAAHJDJEJNFFN maaaybe it starts with starlo starting to be late for missions and the feisty four are, understandably mad at first but then starlo slips up and say smth that gives away the fact that he's been with jellato...... and they're like "OH?? WHO'S THE LUCKY GUY HUH" i think it would be funny to see the feisty four trying to be starlo's wingman. wingmen ?? idk. everyone's happy for them‼️‼️ i think it would be funny if jellato met starlo's family though. especially bc of the dialogue where his mom is like "he needs to settle down and find a wife" HELEPFJEJJGJR well... he's not a wife but a husband..... they show jellato starlo's baby pictures while starlo tries to make him look away like HAHA LOOK OVER THERE. THERE'S UH. A BIRDIE 🫵🫵🫵 he's embarrassed but jellato thinks it's cute

12. how would the fandom view your character?

they probably call reynold a composer ripoff 😭 which is understandable tbh i wasn't very creative with him 🚶‍♂️ but i'm sure they'll love purpleflowertrio at least.... fandoms love gay ppl ok. i can imagine everyone go insane over any official art where they're together or if they have matching costumes.... or if they have interactive emotes with each other auagsgfhfhghgh........ it's a cute thought

14. what hobbies does your self insert have?

OOHH ok this one is interesting but i like to think that jellato likes drawing stuff with the notebooks/sketchbooks that starlo gifts him. i like to think that when jellato writes stuff he draws little doodles next to it.... like a heart next to starlo's name or smth yk. maybe before he migrated to the dunes, he would mostly sleep a lot in waterfall so he didn't do much until he met starlo and the others. figuring out what he likes to do with them is so sweet...... OH YEAH he probably likes singing too. especially with starlo or if he's playing guitar while jellato sings ueueueuee

Currently Reading: Islamic Feminism in Iran by Fereshteh Ahmadi. it's research for my final paper in the intro to islam class. very interesting and enlightening tbh

Last Thing Researched for Art/Writing/Hyperfixation: see above. my topic for the paper looks at how iranian muslim women have reconciled with their religion as it was being used against them pre and post-revolution. there's a lotttt of material out there on the topic. despite what we've been led to believe in western culture, my professor stresses that iran is actually the most secular country in the world. and when you look into the history you can clearly see why that is.

Favorite Online Fandom Memory: meeting my friends during the atla renaissance <3

Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: the atla fandom was/is so obnoxious but in its height in 2020 it was fun seeing a really rich meta appear on the dash for every 5 dumb opinions. everybody was making gifsets and art and fics and it was so much fun. now its slowed down a bit and the only parts of fandom still kind of active are the shippers lol

Favorite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big "Fandom" but You Wish It Did: more like a fandom within a fandom- im glad that the "zukaang" ship stayed pretty niche within the atla fandom. like it wasn't so tiny but we stayed in our own spaces (and rlly won the idgaf war when it came to the hate) and it was just full of mature wonderful people writing THE best meta and fics and just genuinely enjoying the show, which was rare in the fandom (ironically enough)

Hazbin Cookies (Part 1)

Definitely a first post from me, wowie-

Cough, I'll work on an introduction later, for now- I'll just slide in some art :3

One thing that had my attention as of late were the Pure Vanilla Cookie covers of Poison and Addict from Hazbin Hotel, which- gave me an idea, ofc

I present to you... the first batch of CRK cookies as Hazbin Hotel characters! They're wips for now because I still have to digitalize them, which I'll get started on soon! For now, take the wips I have- :'> (Explanations below)

Explanation behind the designs/characters:

Pure Vanilla/Angel Dust: The covers, thats- the main inspiration, and tbh I mistook both of them for women at first so it fits...

Dark Cacao/Husk: They both are generally closed off and have a serious/stern personality, I just- thought it fit the best-

Bonus note #1: for the dragon-ish parts of Dark Cacao, I wanted to add in those because of a neat headcanon I saw- idk how to describe it because it was a visual one, but the HC gave Dark Cacao some dragon traits because of the fact he took down the black and white dragons- (I don't remember if they had names)

Bonus note #2: I don't ship PureCacao (Pure Vanilla x Dark Cacao), the tie between HuskerDust (Husk x Angel Dust) and PureCacao was completely unintentional

White Lily/Charlie: Firstly, and the main reason I did this was because of the fact Charlie can change to her more demonic form at any time, which- I thought of Dark Enchantress when I thought about who to make who, so- They're also both sweet and caring

Hollyberry/Vaggie: Hollyberry can be somewhat serious when needed, I don't have much reasoning for Hollyberry other than that-

Bonus Note #3: I do actually ship HollyLily (Hollyberry x White Lily), which was the secondary reasoning behind Hollyberry

Golden Cheese/Alastor: Pretty sure Alastor is tied into the sin of greed in some way, and Golden Cheese's kingdom is known to be a greedy kingdom, so I put those two together

Bonus Note #4: A random note, but I ship GoldenHollyLily (Golden Cheese x Hollyberry x White Lily), not just HollyLilly, but I don't ship Alastor with either of those two so please don't attack me-

His beloved objects, his partners, are Boy! the bunny plushie, Rey the computer, Sugar the flip-phone and Stellar the chain. They're depicted in both the ref-sheets :) So the main type of objects he's attracted to are plushies, technology, chains and sometimes buildings :) But you know, just as with other sexualities, she's not attracted to EVERY object tn these categories, just as lesbians aren't attracted to ALL girls.

A: What am I excited about these characters?

About Kation I love its design and powers and personality, I love to draw hen and Imagine hen in all kinds of scenarios, how hen interact with others, anything. Designing outfits for both Kation and Coral is super fun, about Coral i love his emotional life, her facial expressions, that she's objectum, his past, his inner conflicts and problems and worries.

B: what inspired me to create them?

Kation was created because I needed a main character in my comic. Hen is a fat, nonbinary demon cus those are all things i think we should see more in media. Well... mostly the first 2, there's a lot of demons lol. But i think those 3 things is a great combo! Coral, as first depicted here, I just drew him cus I wanted to redraw the album photo for Replicas Redux by Gary Numan (with Are 'Friends' Electric? in mind). But I didn't want to draw the guy himself so i just switched him out w a demon i designed on a whim. I liked her design a lot and decided to add her to the lore of the comic i made, and make him Kations best friend, soon with lore of his own!

ayo its macgyver packer guy! ok so yeah cant lie hygienically that was like top 3 worst ideas at least, so instead of doing the sane idea of like just buying something or using a few socks (which WHAT you're supposed to pin that to you're underwear??) i committed to the bit and made a v2! party because its just fun to say "yeah i made my own cock", partly because its just kinda fun to make and i have enough art materials so that its more cost effective the buying something , and why im doing any of this in the first place is because its nice i guess to have it like attached to you..? i guess? and it not just like a sock? although its not 100% realistic (its fucking sliver), its still just pretty cool, so yeah i made a version 2. i made it using like a flimsy metal wire thats made for like crafts (to give it some bend, and so it would just be bricked) , duct tape, and hot glue. (no sock or anything in the center so no risk of mold) i first made 2 balls using hot glue, they weren't super big, i then covered them in duck tape. i made something of a heart-shaped pad using duck tape that i folded onto itself, and glued the 2 balls onto it. then for the dick part, i took the wire, folded it over about 4 or so times to make it thicker, it was about 6 inches in length. i then warped duck tape around the wire in 3 sections, tip, middle, and bottom, with a bit of space between each. in the space between, i cut strips of the tape in half, and warped it around to enforce to wire. i then put hot glue on the tip just so the tape wouldn't fray. i then split a little bit of excess wire in half at the bottom, and then attached it the the balls (would like to state that absolutely 0 wire is even remotely sticking out anywhere once i was finished). I then attached the whole thing the to a second underwear (underwear explanation: ok so i basically cut the underwear to be more like a harness/kinda a strap on when dick is added, to cut back on the layers id be wearing, and not to just wear 2 underwears, one with dick, and one encasseing said dick so that it wouldn't just be flailing around in my pants) finally, im going to be trying to see if wearing a sock just to see if thats more comfortable then using a fuck ton of lotion (the sheer redundancy and 100 degree summer be damned) and then boom! diy dick v2!! i made it in like 30mins, (tbh me writing this took more time then me actually making the dick) and if its incoherent or misspelled sorry its pretty late over here :3

yeah, you’re supposed to pin the rolled sock in place, unless you’re wearing packing underwear. you put the sock inside where the dick would go, whether that’s a pouch or a closed fly or whatever and you use a safety pin on the outside of your undies, stick it through the front of the sock, and back out the front. the safety pin should not go through the sock all the way. works best if you wear boxer briefs or regular briefs—. i use a quilting sewing pin bc the bent shape makes it easier, but anything with safety pin functionality will work. i know a guy who used a “yaoi lover” circle button pin.

the hot glue balls are lowkey hilarious. i’m imagining what those feel like lmao. “what if—hear me out—the balls got hard too” type shit. that’s hilarious. what the hell.

and while the absence of a fabric core is an improvement, from experience i know that duct tape is not necessarily watertight man. like one little wrinkle at the edge of the tape and all of a sudden you’ve got all kinds of liquid and shrapnel in there. and hair. ew.

also. wire. even if you’ve got the wire ends covered, it’s not guaranteed that they won’t poke through and stab something. idk about you but i wouldn’t risk dick impalement over the like $30-50 a real packer would be. or free, in the case of a rolled sock. seriously, if penis procurement is an issue, whether for financial or other reasons, please just use a sock.

if you’re desperate to diy something here, you probably could sew a harness for a regular packer out of elastic, or modify your existing undies to better accommodate a packer.

please let me know how the sock packing goes. if you need further advice on the matter lmk. i lost the tutorial post i made a while back, but im more than willing to remake it.

hmm you wonder how to get yourself out of the questioning but don't. i think that... it's pretty normal to stay there, even for a long time. i think online you see a lot of people who are like, "it all clicked over night <3" which is great but i think for many of us it actually turns out to be a .... journey. and thats what i try to highlight and normalize a lot through what i share.

when you say how youre always trying to figure this out and youre waking up always having the same old experiences... it's because you continue to be the same old you. how could you expect anything different ? bc you understand the concepts on a thinking level ? that doesn't do much for us. the true change comes in changing in ourselves, in actually practicing what it is we read about. we put so much pressure on the ego to make sense of something it's not meant to make sense of. the god within already knows, so stop taking that on as your daily task. your daily task is actually surrender, acceptance, trust. to enjoy and experience these things you read about. not just think about it and try to understand it.

you mention how youre so used to "failure" and i get it, because i was too for so, so long. and tbh the way i got myself out of that was simple. i decided to dare to think for once i can experience smth new, for once i can experience a new outcome. and that's all i did. i didnt miraculously heal my anxiety or suddenly realize how im god and none of this is real. i just let myself be, and opened myself up to the possibility of something different than what i'm used to. and that was literally enough. it's not that hard, we just tend to be scared of letting it be simple.

i havent posted like anything of the penrose development i have done, visual wise, as its all been on my discord (join here and get the "projects chats" role to see it). so! i am gonna talk. long post ahead.

above is some March actually, way back when i was trying to think of other characters and shapes. The three on the right were random mainly, except Hayden will be an actual character. not decided design however. i also tried "mouth/nose line" on mick and eden, which gave them more cat appearance. i did not keep that. very far right wolf looking guy is actually Mars... if anyone remembers that red wolf.

Noir Morozov, who i drew in that image with the numbers 76. i will commonly call him 76. he is the admin (76days76nights) of twistedroots.net. in his late 20s. clearly based on a goat.

Above is some design tests of "no ears" versions of characters. i have loads of thoughts about this-- basically these guys (mick and eden namely) have been ambiguous humanoids, but technically based on cats. still, the only feature were the nose and ears. however i have wanted my big projects to not be furry associated and the ears are enough to see them as that. considering how simple they already were, i wondered if i could take away the need for ears at all.

in doing so i realized how plain eden looks and came to certain conclusions about these: mick is already very normal, skin colored, and has two main colors. eden's hair being smooth makes it look pretty flat without the sharp ears, and she only has one color is she doesnt have the white spot. 76 is clearly the most animal like, and taking away his features leaves him look a bit weird. hair texture for eden was worked on (right image) and may change on mick, not sure.

i wanted to get rid of eden's white spot because it was a marking like on fur, but because she is just black and nothing else i wanted to work in a second color-- which came to me adding it to her hair! which i quite like.

as much as i loved that finished art i did of 76 recently, i do expect to change his design as well.

most recent developments of design-- first one is just normal present day mick with no ears. i am still unsure how to present her however as im unsure about her hair and nose/face shape. right image is eden at age 14-16. just a little sketch of her at a younger age (and i need to practice/design the difference between her age appearance tbh)

lastly! just a timeline of faces that i made when trying to think about new designs/what to do. theyre not in complete chronological order, but its close enough. its given me more thoughts on how i wanna tackle designs. mainly that i really want to do *something* about mick and eden's face shapes. i lost some sharpness of mick's and i think its part of whats throwing me, as she is all round shapes. i am generally happy with eden, but with both of those girls i need to sit down and try to see how i can work their ages into their designs just a *little* so.

thats kinda where this project is right now. designs have still been tough for me, especially because i havent fleshed out the story enough to include more significant characters either.
