spoiler alert under the cut for prolly all the books since my head likes to mix up what info is in which book

the shatter me series is set in a dystopian world, basically humans fucked the world up enough to more or less make it unliveable in (food was poisoned cos animals ate trash and shit e.g., illnesses like cancer were very common etc.) and then the re-establishment takes over. the re-establishment was elected by the people, promising to re-establish life as they knew it (spoiler alert: they didnt) and then took over the world, turning it into district 12 from the hunger games more or less, except its more technologically advanced (the technology is used to monitor civilians tho not to help them) while the psychopaths (really theres no better word, i dont even think that word is strong enough) at the top enjoy life

now more on my backstory (its basically just juliettes backstory from the books cos i dont have a creative bone in my body):

i was created by evie sommers (juliettes mother) whos also the supreme commander (kinda like president) of oceania in a petri dish out of her dna and maybe someone elses? idk but she modified the dna to basically make me the perfect specimen for her little project. my memories of all this are erased regularly btw so i dont talk about it to other people i coincidentally meet (this is before the re-establishment took over completely, which happens when im around 13-16?) bcs what shes doing is obviously lowkey illegal. anyway at some point (in my head when im around 4-5) she starts letting me play with the kids from the other future surpreme commanders (theres one for each continent) which is also where i get my name (as a project i dont need a name so evie never gave me one) which is juliette (its a bit complicated but basically juliette in the book is really called ella so for the sake of logic ill call her ella from now on and im juliette) and was given to me by aaron cos he likes shakespear and thought it fit me soo juliette it was. after evie discovers emmalines (ellas sister) abilities she decides to abandon me and puts me into a foster family similar to ella in the u.s. (for plots aka aaron and my love stories sake) and since theres this whole plot no-matter-how-many-times-they-erase-my-and-aarons-memories-we-always-fall-in-love-again anderson (aarons dad) thought itd be funny to make ellas undercover name juliette ferrars to see if itd make aaron change his mind (he does these fucked up little experiments for fun) or smth idk i dont understand that guy. anyway my powers (also in the introduction post) start manifesting when im like 10 or so and we have to move a lot after cos i cant control my powers yet. when im 14 it all escalates when i accidentally kill a classmate with my powers (he was an ass tho not to excuse my behavior but just wanted to add that) and after that my parents decide its best for them to give up guardianship for me and hand me over to the re-establishment / government. ella at this point already escaped her family to omega point before she ever touches that little boy in the grocery store. anyway the next few years are a lot of moving in between facilities and rehabilitation centers which ends with them locking me away in an asylum when im 16 and thats the point i shift to.

after that its mostly just the plot of the books which is i get pulled out of the asylum after a little less than a year on aarons orders, he wants to use me as a weapon for the re-establishment (but secretly not), i escape with adam (temporary love interest) and get to omega point along with kenji and then anderson takes 2 hostages from omega point and wants me as an exchange, i shoot him, we kidnap aaron, bla bla adam and i break up, aaron and i have this denial thing (from my side), aaron escapes, omega point fights against the re-establishment and gets defeated, anderson shoots me to teach aaron a lesson, i survive cos aaron saves me, we find the survivors of omega point, aaron gets them on base, we kill anderson and take over north america and then after that its the other books which are a bit more complicated but i can get into that too if anyone would like me to :)

i have SOOOO many thoughts abt these three tbh,,,, i had a thought last night of what it would be like if john and wilbur were engaged when wilbur. uhm. "died". but like 20 years later john's found xander and to hell with it if he can love them both. one is dead, itll be fine

except, wilburs not actually dead. he falls out of a portal and hes normal again and holy shit what does john do now. like thats still technically his fiance (and first love but shh) but his husband is Right The Fuck There

but it wnds up pretty okay. john makes sure wilbur really is okay and normal (hes as normal as he can be after being in the black for that long) and introduces them and it goes great

wilbur backs off of his own accord even though it absolutely destroys him to do so and gives both john and xander (mostly john) the shovel talk ("i swear to god- and ive met god- if you hurt him ill be one to get your ass and send it to hell" type shit)

but. where is this legally dead man going to live. aside from john, there arent many people who jnow him still alive (and ghats not to count the amount still working with peip) (there are two still working with peip. john and colonel schaffer)

so wilbur camps out on john and xanders couch until they figure out what to do from there

but wilbur is Old and Weak and hes honestly provably pretty close to (if not) disabled from the sheer amount his body has gone through and the couch is definitely making it worse. and xander being trained in medicine (though not practicing) steps in and is like "ok i know its going to be weird as hell but you have GOT to get in a bed. ours or not i dont give a shit" but they dont haev the space for another bed and honestly wilbur's been struggling to sleep alone anyway

so they end up dragging his ass into their bed and its like. the best sleep of his life. and he wakes up in the fetal position (normal) between john and xander (not where he fell asleep) and theyre both kind of holding onto him (what the fuck ?)

and he freaks a bit. bc thats his ex (?) fiance and his new husband. he cannot get between them like this are you kidding??

so he goes and sits on the couch but its really cold and he hates it (flashback sequence??) but he forces himself to not care and like. puts a show on or smth until xander wakes up and comes out like "why did you leave i was comfortable" and hes like "im already intruding a lot i felt bed" and xanders like "youre literally not but ok. do you like pancakes" and thats that (the answer is yes, blueberry ones)

and like a month later finally wilbur is cleared to get to work on mapping and explaining the black and white, and the lords in black, so he throws himself into that. 9/10 times he falls asleep at his desk or on the couch again and john and xander are both a little sad but theyte quiet abt theyre big boys theyre handling this great (<- lying)

and xander snaps after like. three weeks of wilbur destroying himself for the sake of explaining the shit he'd seen and he goes and demands that wilbur comes to bed one night and it goes a little something like this

"wil, come to bed"

"i have work to do"

"i dont give a shit, im shutting your laptop in ten seconds"

"no, i have shit to do. go cuddle with your husband" (< said bitterly)

"why are you being a bitch about this. we miss you" (< terrified this is wilbur shutting him down rn, but totally genuine)

"wtfdym you miss me. your husband is in there. you realize im your husbands ex right." (< getting increasingly upset)

by this point john is also here standing in the doorway (exhausted) (his fingers are crossed) and wilburs just stunned into silence for a while

and then he shuts his laptop and stands up and takes xanders (outstretched) hand and lets them take him to bed in silence and its. its his way of saying yes okay? its his way of telling them that he gets it, that he's done the same and that he loves them too

and they fall asleep together with wilbur in the middle. and its perfect

- during the pitchblack justice event, alma had spilled wine on his shirt due to a sudden ambush attack and he had a chitchat with noa’s kuroyosei (forgot his name) about cleaning and they both got absolutely distracted as a result

- alma struggles to read complex words (to which shiharu attempted to get him to read a philosophy book, that or he meant to pass it to karma in a subtle way) and aff. 10 is just emma trying to teach him words and karma going “you need to teach him like a kindergartner. if you overwork his braincells he’ll die” (to which emma went `IS IT THAT SERIOUS???`)

- alma can cook and frequently cooks! apparently daste likes his cooking but iirc he himself said he cant cook extravagant meals just some basics like eggs n stuff (ill have to go back and read though)

- alma is constantly reprimanded by his superiors for giving too light sentences during confession hearings to which he responds he just cant bring it in himself to be super harsh, meanwhile he gets a magic line from shiharu and immediately enters panic mode

- alma tends to get injured a lot due to carelessness/clumsiness and forgets about injuries which cause some to reopen/worsen and karma has to help patch him up, which caught emma off guard briefly when karma suddenly started talking on magic line

- alma tried to buy a plushie for tilia since they love plushies but ended up buying a “totally not cute” plush thats described as surreal in the story even though he insisted he thought it was cute and tilia said smth along the lines of “i hate you goodie twoshoes that pretend to be good but WHAT IS THIS!!YOURE SO EVIL!!!!!!!”

edit: the 2 hours before my 30minute break went fast. after my break, though, all of the rude ppl came in and it was a loy busier in general. im off work now, but im feel so overwhelmed and angry because of the way i was treated today. i know its going to happen in customer service, but bro?

and when i came home, i was doing things around the house to make me feel productive and so i dont feel stuck in the emotions im in. i gave my mom the mail, and she said "ew, why are being a cunt right now" i took a deep breath, and i said "im sorry." she asked me to get her glasses off of her dresser (as shes sitting on her bed) i told her "yes" in the best neutral tone i could. she said "thank you" and in the same tone, i said "no problem". she snapped "oh, so we're gonna be sarcastic now?" i apologized and said, "i had a bad day. im not trying to take it out on you" and she yelled at me abt how its not her fault and how she doesnt yell at me unless im being a "lazy-fuck" (which totally contradicts because she was yelling at me when she said it).

i want to cry, but i dont want to look like a sensitive baby that takes everything to heart.

i just really didnt need this day to go like this.

even in the beginning when my mom yelled at me before i went to work, i thought positively. "theres 80000 seconds in a day. why throw away the whole day when someone ruins just 10 seconds" but the 10 seconds kept adding up.... its hurting now.

its about 6 hours after that. i was feeling fine until now. i feel like i need to cry again.... its probably because i wouldnt let myself do it before.

- rekis not one to like. hide his praise or anything he compliments langa a lot but just. every so often he'll grab langas wrist and look at him all soft and say "youre amazing langa" very reminiscent of how langa praises him and it just makes langa feel so fucking mushy and in love

- rekis used to affection from his family but thats kinda it and langas family was never super affectionate but he felt loved still but after his dad died he just felt super lonely but when they meet and start getting super close they both just feel like theyre overflowing with love both given and received and i just thinks that beautiful

- rekis chronically bad at opening bottles bc they hurt his hands and hes always embarrassed but he goes up to langa and is like. open please. and langa does KKFMSMFND

and you turn to them, about to yell, but they disappear again. and its this game that they keep playing w you. you end up liking it and having fun, but after you realise its time to put the kids to bed. so stefan and you get them ready for bed, tucking them in and kissing them goodnight. and while you shut the door to their bedroom, stefan goes next to you and says

“youre the cool one, y’know that?”

and youre like “pfft yeah right. they worship you”

“yeah, but your their big sister. they only like me because im a vampire. they love you and look up to you the most” he says
