It was at about that point in the interview that you mentally checked out... Something about Sam being so assertive had you floating in your head for the next ten minutes and it wasn't until you both stepped back out into the hall that the spell seemed to break. Was it hot in here? You didn't even know if you'd gotten the info you needed for the case, but you assumed so since Sam seemed to be leading you back toward the parking lot.

"What happened to you back there?" he asked as you stepped out into the bright sunshine.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" you asked.

He laughed lightly. "You sort of dropped off the radar during the interview. Felt like I was in there alone toward the end." He pulled out the keys and made a beeline for the car.

"Oh..." Your cheeks flushed and your mind wandered back to Sam really taking control with that guy and—oh, shit. You were floating away in your head again...

"...Are you okay?" Sam was asking you, concern painting his features.

"Huh? No—YES! I mean, yes. Yes, I'm fine," you said, laughing nervously. You tugged at the collar of your shirt which suddenly seemed like it was suffocating you.

"I just—must not have drank enough water today or something. I don't know," you murmured, praying he would drop it.

Now, Sam stopped halfway to putting the key in the ignition and he turned completely and stared at you, his brow deeply furrowed. "Alright, what's going on? You're never this checked out on a case!"

You mouthed wordlessly for a moment, shrugging. "I—I—"

"You're seriously starting to worry me!" he interrupted.

You put a hand up to your face. "Oh my God," you murmured to yourself.

"What?" he pressed you, gentle but insistent.

"I've never seen you do aggressive bad cop before!" you burst out. "It was—" you searched for the right word that would make this less soul-crushingly embarrassing. "—distracting!" you said, your cheeks burning with another blush. "Fuck," you muttered behind your hand again. "Happy now?!"

Sam look perplexed for a long moment and then let out a relieved laugh, before starting the car. "Wow. Uhh... I didn't know that was your thing," he said quietly, nervously laughing again.

You slumped in your seat. Dear God, please strike me with a lightning bolt. "Well, me either," you said, avoiding his eyes. "It—took me by surprise!"

Sam laughed again to himself. "Filing this away for future use," he joked, shooting a sideways glance at you, smiling.

However, I don't understand what Isayama means in his interview when he says "does he like women?" and that he prefers tall people. Most mlm shippers use this interview to claim that Levi doesn't like short women. When they see Levi with a short woman or only one woman (Oc and Petra), they always quote this interview and bully these people by saying that Levi likes tall men. And even accused of being homophobic. The interview is old and a Japanese girl told that Isayama said it half jokingly, half laughing, so he didn't mean it.

Honestly, I think Isayama is AWFUL at romance, so he was probably trying to dodge the question haha. I know that mlm shippers use it as an excuse, just like they use plenty of other excuses. Truthfully, neither Levi's sexuality nor whether he had any romantic relationships were confirmed, so it's up to us to interpret as we wish. I personally headcanon Levi as straight, but that's just my interpretation, and if mlm shippers have a problem with that… well, there's the door. If the exit is too small, I'll add another door XD

Don't let that silly comment define anything for you, love. Isayama mentioned that "usually short people are into tall people," and I could argue back that "usually guys prefer girls shorter than them." Or, even further, just because you have one preference doesn't mean you rule out EVERY single person that doesn't meet it. For example, in real life, I'm usually into blond guys… does that mean I'll NEVER date any guy that's not blond? No… it just means I find it a bit more eye-catching than other hair colors, nothing else.

And, to those who use it as an excuse to claim that Levi isn't into girls or isn't into short girls, I always think that Levi replying to Zeke that he was "popular enough" when Zeke said "I bet you're not popular with the ladies" was enough info for me, lol.

Could be one of the decent students at this university. he can be seen around outdoors most of the time or in the lunchroom chatting with a few friends. granted he could focus on his skills and his curiosity for history he actually knows how to take a chill pill from time to time. close to being a top student if he didn't get so distracted in class, but a B could be good enough. he may not be too social at times, he doesn't have anything interesting to say, even despite that he still tries to keep the conversation going a little. it's a sweet miracle he actually befriended Tanya and Misty, tending to be a little annoyed by a few of their actions but enjoys their company more than nothing. tries getting them out of trouble and it ends up getting all 3 of them into some deep shi- Ahem. even if they can be a bother, they're still a bit fun to hang around with.

At this point it's becoming a concern with how he deals with everybody's crap while they deal with his, and that's how it'll stay. now that I've got that done let's go on with a little more info. I don't know if any of you want to go through it and read all of this, but I'm doing it anyways ❤️ ╔═════════════════ஓ๑♡๑ஓ════════════════╗

Interests- He doesn't get well to attached to interests and moves on to the next, but these are the ones that stuck out most to him. First interest would be about history; he's real curious to learn about this universities... interesting history. there's some crap he's curious to see but he knows too well that he should stay the hell out of it if he wants to keep his head. Second interest that comes to mind may as well be combat/self-defense (Toro's trying to defend himself from Sova, this shit is self-explanatory as well cause he's not going down, not today) he's been taught well to fend himself, especially in getting into fights he didn't want to. A third interest he's actually quite genuine about is music, it's a waste of time to others but for him, it just helps him deal with life a bit easier. one of his favorite instruments is usually a guitar, doesn't mind playing it around others, he could use the company for a bit.

He hangs out with Misty almost all the time, just a sweetheart to be around when you need her but if she asks what a Bulldozer is he's slapping her with a dictionary. Let's make this real nice and short for the Scaries here. Mary- Actually tolerates her for a while, she's proud, she's confident. neither of them interact.. as much except for once when Barry introduced her. she'd doesn't seem that mean. He's going to bitch slap her. Barry- Surprisingly a chill guy he tends to hang out with, but he really needs to calm down with his hair products, every time he pulls out a hairspray, he coughs out like he's going to die. Larry- If he doesn't get his nerdy wimp @#$$ the hell out of here he is actually going to make fun of him. Toro doesn't mean to, he doesn't do it intentionally, he's holding back all the urges not to call him stupid names to the point it's not even funny.

Okay, okay! ;; Under a cut! ...but first, some history. (Also under the cut!)

Zenkichi's big turn and the first time I saw the August 14th scene was two days before my birthday, March 20. My friends were telling me that he was gonna be the one I would yell about ridiculously, and I snorted it off. How could anyone think that the dorky cop was gonna be the one I liked the most? I liked the single dad sad cops that would absolutely tear down the country for their kids. … …and then I saw the entire scene with Zenkichi after Sapporo, and I was absolutely thrown headfirst into 'wait, what in the fuck is this?' Needless to say, I had to stop after the save point because I was crying. A lot. Goofy old dork is actually- really fucking messy on the inside? Oh no. Oh NO, I suddenly latched on like a fool.

It sort of became a big spiral from there about him, and I began to come up with a ridiculous degree of sad with him that the game never explained because- it's a month long experience. And not enough time to really dive into the meat of the whole "EXCUSE ME, THE NEW DAD WE PICKED UP IS ACTUALLY FULL OF SELF-LOATHING AND BULLSHIT" sort of idea. (And about how Joker/Akiren was somehow okay with working with a fucking cop after. Y'know. All of P5/R? MUH?)

As per this introduction of Zenkichi and in my time crying about him for the last three years, I have thus come up with the following... headcanons and sobbing ideas.

Zenkichi and Valjean have had a connection for the last some twenty plus years. It started as that little voice in his head that would tell him to push the envelope, chase the bad guys, indulge in his anger. Zenkichi would often rebuff these advances, and over time, the voice got louder and angrier at how he wouldn't speak up a lot for himself because of 'how he just sits like an obedient dog and takes it.' It's only in Akane's jail that he finally breaks free of his chains and begins to really make a man out of himself.

Zenkichi does have some mental illnesses, mostly due to childhood trauma involving emotional abuse from his father. Emotions were pretty much a way to get his dad to yell at him about how weak he looked; being sad or angry or even melancholic were good ways to get the 'boys don't cry' talk of sorts often, and he bottled his emotions at a very early age. (And he still does many times, mainly because he doesn't want the kids to see him breaking down. The Thieves often help him with this, as does Maruki to an extent.)

There's a saying that your anger can hurt you more than it can hurt others, and it actively applies to Wolf's Fury mechanic in the Metaverse. As it stands today (04/03/2024), the kids vaguely know of his power and how it can fuck him up in the Metaverse. What the kids don't know, however, is that his wounds carry into the real world and give him many scars. At first, he tries to chalk them up to wounds he got when he was on the force for years, but it eventually will catch up to him: when the Thieves see the damage it does to him, they get… very concerned, to say the least. And they will hound him to get scar cream for some of the worse ones.

Zenkichi has smoked for a few years, but he did stop before he met the Phantom Thieves; he can't do the mile for shit, but he can jog fairly okay. His drinking habits aren't that great, though, to wear he can actually have enough to pass out. ...he's getting better though. Trying to get better. (He can get to be too lazy to get up and get one.)

Each time Enduring Soul activates for Zenkichi, it fucks him up pretty badly. I know the game mechanics say he survives with one HP and bounces back, but I've taken it a step further to say that yeah. He dies. He does die, and he comes back with renewed fervor. As the only known playable character that isn't a protagonist to have this ability, I have once more taken it to a higher degree of fuckery and made it worse.

Every one of the Phantom Thieves's experience with a shitty dad makes him want to go and punch a bastard, but they convince him not to do so... so he won't go to jail. However, he doesn't listen and visits many of them. And while he doesn't get physical, he instills the fear of Valjean into every one of them.

To help deal with his anger issues he's unlocked since his awakening, he's since remembered his hand-to-hand combat training from being on the force; with Valjean's (genuine) gentle nudges and coaxing, he finds himself slowly going back into combative sports. He finds it liberating when he can go wild in private away from the kids, knowing that many of them have some kind of trauma from adults being angry or violent.

THAT SAID… when the kids find out about his habit, I'd like to think that Zenkichi admits that he didn't want to tell the kids out of fear and their traumatic pasts and whatnot, but they're far more relieved he has an outlet for said rage that's healthy for him and not doing worse things. (It also comes in handy for other things- because these kids can't stay out of trouble too often, but that comes down the line much later.)

Gramps- does leave the force, but only after he and Miyako speak about it at length for a long time. He ends up becoming a private investigator with quite the name for himself that gets mumbled through the streets: the Wolf of Kyoto.

Routine, as it's become. Another woman to pass through his life, momentarily fulfil selfish desires, to have nameless faces leave to come again like clockwork. Distantly he could make out her footsteps, and the almost silent opening and shutting of his front door. Letting eyelids fall and leaning back to rest against the bed frame, a heavy sigh left his lips. When did it get this bad? When was the last time he'd felt... Whole.

Since Y/n, likely. Taking in another inhale of heavy smoke, lips clenched between the cigarette twitched at the thought of her. So... Damn sweet. Thinking about her, knowing how she'd react to seeing him like this, a mess, had him practically spit out the smoke. Putting it out carelessly at the ashtray that sat by his side.

So real. Unbelievable how real she felt, unlike any of the other women he's kept around him. Kept for a night, if kept is an appropriate word at all. They were blurs that served as gaps in his memory, hours if them amounted to no more than a handful of fuzzy colours and lights. That woman, no, who once was his woman he couldn't for the life of him forget a second in her arms, of her in his life.

So vividly he could make out hazy mornings of watching her chest rise and fall as her relaxed features radiated in the warm luster from early rays. Almost as serene as the specs of dust that wafted the air only visible by yellow dawn. Time with her was so eventful, so easy to find yourself in the present moment and just feel... In love.

But that was the fear wasn't it? Breaking out of thoughts his eyes fell to his illuminated phone, a notification. Curious, it was Ted. He was in town at the moment, but as far as he was concerned he was out with Shae... Shit, had he forgotten more plans today? This wouldn't be the first time.

'Jeremiah Schlatt call me back as soon as possible.'

That, accompanied with an hour's worth of missed calls, had his back straighten and rush of energy flood his body. Wasting no time dealing back, it couldn't have been more than three rings before the phone was picked up.

"Where the hell are you? I've been calling you for an hour– this is..!" His voice gruff and loud enough to resonate in his ears, consequently contributing to the growing of a dull pain within his frontal lobe. "I'm at home, sorry. Did we have plans today?" There was murmuring following his question, two voices discussing in a much softer, uneasy tone from what he could make out.

"Jesus, you sound out of it. Get some sleep I'll call you back tomorrow morning." There was the overly worrisome Ted he was more accustomed to, his voice returning to the phone with a complete one-eighty of tones. It practically sent him into whiplash, a twinge in his gut telling him something wasn't quite right. "Ted, what the fuck is going on? You don't just call people like that, where are you?" Hesitation highlighted the silence, he could practically hear him gulp as a reassuring female voice was at his side.

"I'm with Shae and..." His voice caught up in his chest, his girlfriend's murmurings being heard from the other end of the line even if unintelligible. "...We're at the hospital on 51st Street." I could feel my heart sink in my chest, "I'm on my way."

"Wait, wait, wait..!" He cleared his throat and halted in his steps, half naked and feeling the chill of the room after throwing himself out of bed. "...neither me or Shae are sick. I, I figured you had the right to know what's going on, but it's a delicate situation. I don't think it's smart for you to just show up out of the blue–" "Ted, what the fuck is going on?"

A breath was drawn, and the following words made it seem like his whole world had fallen apart. "It's Y/n. She just... Collapsed. She hasn't been eating I just... I didn't know who to call she's still stubborn but I don't think–" "I'm on my way." Before any protests could have been made the phone was hung up and the previously languid Schlatt was dashing round the place for his misplaced articles of clothing and his car keys.

The rest was a blur, with a conscious heavy with worry and thoughts centred around only her there were only flashes of memory of driving to the previously mentioned hospital (how he remembered he didn't know in that state); his brain was on autopilot.

And yet someway, somehow, he blinked and before him was the woman he once (and likely still) adored. Her skin paler than her usual tone, sunken and sullen. Her head tilted to the side, gaze pivoted towards the window. Her monotonous heart rate was barely audible, it was like he was underwater. Throat dry, neither said a word, his palms sweaty and pulse feeling as if it could burst his veins open.

"Y/n..." His voice low, knowing he had no place here, not after everything. He stood closer to the door than her, she seemed tense with him being there and he wasn't exactly relaxed either. Just as he spoke those words, he could visibly see her grip at her arms slightly tighter, her body at a slight tremble he recognized she would do before she cried. He hesitated to say anything else if his voice alone had already done so much.

"..what are you doing here..?" Her head slowly spun towards him, fully in view he could see just how worn down and tired she appeared. She was frail, eyes once filled with so much life now dreary with eyelids relaxed and harsh shadows under them; tears brimming and threatening to fall. Chapped lips with every lethargic movement seemed as if they were so heavy, as if she struggled to even open them. "...I heard. You..." Schlatt hesitated on his words, a little lost to find them.

"Save it." Whatever force she had left she used it to spit out those words, "I'm alright..." "Obviously not." He let out softly, carefully making his way over to sit at the chair by the foot of the hospital bed. "I just..." "Why did you come here?" Her voice strained asked with such desperation, confusion evident with tears ever present. He took a breath, "I came because I still care." And that was what it took to cause the surface tension to break and tears fully roll down her cheeks, unable to even manage reaching to wipe them away. "You came to lie to me." She choked out between broken sobs, he held such a gentle, caring look while she fought to not completely break down into ugly crying.

"No, no I didn't–" "cause if you cared I wouldn't be feeling this way." Her words spoke such conviction, eyes once saddened had an edge of power. The wrath and justified venom dripping from her words was enough to have the air catch in Schlatt's chest.

"You're right." He wouldn't deny it, everything that's happened up till now was a result of his own selfishness, never having the slightest thought about her. "I'm not here to make things right between us."

"...then..?"

"Y/n, I'm sorry." His head quickly dipped downwards, a prolonged pause was taken before a sharp inhale could be heard. "I'm not worth destroying yourself over." He didn't dare raise his gaze, knowing he'd be heartbroken at the sight that would lay before him.

"...why wasn't I enough for you..?" Hiccups between cries tearing at his heart, he clenched his teeth and shut his eyes tight. "You were more than I could have ever imagined." "I'm not... I couldn't be... I've seen the women you're around now..."

"And yet you're more beautiful then all of them." "...then why have you been so... cold?"

Cold, and cold was what he meant to be; pushing her away to save himself. Yes, she was too real; just like every other person he kept too close. One by one, they all did what he did to her: disappear.

He wanted so desperately to explain himself. Tell her stories of how other lovers had done a similarly cruel trick, family issues, people that were supposed to be there for him to rely on... But he couldn't. He was as bad as them, he hurt her tooth's extent because he couldn't handle commitment or trust.

She was the victim, no doubt in anyone's mind. Who was he to make this all about himself?

"I'm just not a relationship kind of guy, I... I should of said something, and for that I'm sorry. But please, please don't beat yourself up about this. If what we were is what's causing this."

She deserved to thrive, not to be weighed down by him.

At heart he was a good person, even if his actions didn't show as much. She didn't need to know, and he wasn't ready to get better.

The time has come...

For the Redemption Round!

Well, technically not yet, but I'm making you guys submit them into a form for the sake of my sanity, so I figured I would open that up now.

HOW IT'S GOING TO WORK:

There will be 3 spots for characters that were eliminated anywhere from the first poll to the final one of round 2. You guys will submit them on the form and the ones with either the most submissions or the best reasoning will get to be voted on.

AND (because this post was so hilarious it sparked a brilliant idea) you guys get to choose one person to help them through their first round back. They can be someone else who was eliminated or they can be someone who wasn't nominated in the first place. BUT be careful because if they make it through that first round back they separate and you have to choose between them. here's more info on what qualifies

The final 4th spot will be taken by a character you think should've gotten a lot of nominations but was actually not nominated at all! This post pretty much sums up the reasoning behind it, since now that we have a ton more people following we can actually fill in those gaps. These characters don't get a buddy though, since they're basically skipping half the bracket. If there's only a few different ones with somebody clearly taking most submissions, I'll take them straight in, but if there is a lot, we'll do a preliminary poll or two while the others are going on.

Also gonna have a spot on the form where you can beg for someone NOT to be entered in again, whether you think they're just annoying or because it was a miracle they got out the first time and you don't wanna risk it. All is fair in love and war I guess.

The usual form rules apply, so no submitting the same character a billion times, no real people, all the normal stuff and only the first two questions are required. Also, no characters are guaranteed! The only way for them to (re)enter is to be submitted!

If this seems really complicated it's probably more complicated for me and I think I organized the submission form in a way that makes it simple. Let me know if it's confusing!

As always, ask box is open for questions and concerns! I wanted to do this in a way that seems fun that I haven't really seen before but if you guys don't like it we can change it to a normal redemption round.

It hadn't quite been the warmest welcome, yet it wasn't the worst she could have received. She's still in one piece, so far. In the back of her mind she knows she's the wasp in the beehive — an intruder that could be snuffed out at the drop of a hat. But she needs to speak with Brigitte, and if this is the way, she'll suck it up.

That's not the most forefront worry in her mind. No, she's watching him tap away at the keyboard. "So uh...you gonna tell me what you're searching for?" V looks from where her arm is splayed on the desk and where her personal link is jacked in up to his face as if attempting to read his expression. A bust, of course. Guy could probably be a world class poker player with a resting expression like that. He's kinda cute though. Shit don't think about that!

Fingers twitch restlessly. She knows her skills; knows she did a well enough job that just about no one should be able to get any real information from her link. However, if there was anyone that held the possible capability of bypassing the glacier of ICE and security measures along with deciphering the fake info she had implemented, it would be the Voodoo Boys.

Incoherent rambles about Crusher and stuff

I realized that you guys don't actually know much about his backstory and what happened to him post death.

Rambles under the cut (TWs: Mentions of murder, Toxic family, Gun violence):

General info

His real name is Richard Hughes (Only a small handful of people are allowed to still call him that). His nickname Crusher came from his general strength.

His age and birth year would be different depending on the universe (Although that can be said about most of my characters). In my timeline at least, He was born in the 1970s.

His birthplace and childhood home was in New York City (He still has a slight NYC accent).

Childhood

His family had been part of a powerful mafia for many years. His parents were very powerful people within it.

With that said, Crusher was basically robbed of a normal childhood. As soon as he was old enough to properly hold a weapon (At about 10), His parents immediately began training him to his limit.

He first killed someone when he was only 13, His parents practically forcing him to. Due to the trauma of this incident, Crusher refuses to use melee weapons, Since he used a knife to kill said person.

A year after that, Crusher's parents were killed by Toppats. Wilford found him afterwards and after seeing the shit he had to go through at such a young age, He took Crusher into the Toppat Clan.

Toppat Life

A lot of what happens during his time as a Toppat varies depending on the universe. So I'll just say some general stuff.

Crusher discovered he was gay at about 19, Considering he didn't have a lot of time to discover himself back at his old home.

He gravitated towards pistols as his main weapon. He even learned a few tricks while using them (Like twirling them in his hands).

He tended to downplay his own pain, Which Wilford grew more and more concerned about.

He was always welcoming and patient towards new and young Toppats.

He always gave his enemies a fair fight if they deserved it. He always tried to be an honorable opponent.

Although he was a generally calm and fun person to be around, He was the last person you'd wanna piss off. He could be really scary if he needed to be.

Relationships

He admired Wilford a whole lot. He saw him as a father figure of sorts, Although he's a bit too embarrassed to admit that.

His relationship towards Terrence was complicated, And also different depending on the universe. In Shifted Timeline, He's indifferent towards Terry. In Captured!Charles, He despises Terry.

He was extremely close to Right and Slice. He saw the two like little brothers and always tried to help them out in any way he could.

He was also fond of Reginald and Carol too. In the CC universe specifically, He tried to stick up for Reginald as much as possible.

Crusher was also friends with some OCs, Mainly Brutus and Morgana (Who belong to @smoresthehalloweenqueen )

When Crusher first met Danny (Who belongs to @capturecharlesau ), I wouldn't say it was love at first sight, Although he did definitely think Danny was cute. Overtime, Their relationship developed and the two started dating.

Deaths

Crusher actually has two canon deaths.

In Shifted Timeline, He was killed in a raid gone wrong. He was out helping some other Toppats before he got ambushed. He eventually succumbed to his injuries before he could be brought back to the airship.

In Captured!Charles, He was killed during the rebellion against Terrence. Terrence had grabbed Reginald and was about to run off with him, But Crusher stood in his way. Terrence responded by shooting him straight in the chest. He succumbed to his bullet wounds shortly after Reginald killed Terrence. Some Toppats think he died in the crossfire though.

Technically, Both deaths were caused by Terrence. The main difference is whether he was directly involved (And whether he actually meant for him to die or not).

Post Death

No matter what universe, Crusher ends up stuck in the ghost realm (Think where the dead leaders kinda are).

Nobody in the living realm can see, hear, or touch him unless they have the power to see and communicate with ghosts.

He wanders around to keep an eye on the Toppats, Especially Danny.

His tie back to the living realm may slowly be growing stronger...

maybe kaveh could think kaeya is a bit sussy, maybe kaeya made some sort of teasing comment and kaveh reacted in a strong way and i think upon seeing this kaeya would actually acknowledge that there are some topics/comments that should be avoided and that perhaps kaveh just needs a more chill buddy! so they are just nice! even if they somehow don't start out perfectly! i think they both would be very friendly regardless of their first impressions, bc kaveh is just a terribly nice guy and kaeya knows how to mingle <3

and FOR SURE either of them would suggest going drinking and that's where we get The Real Besties moment, like i'm sure they would be both delighted to get a new epic drinking buddy! and they got so much to talk about, starting with just talking about their countries, fav drinks, work, whatever have u, and they are both not into sharing Actual Personal info, which kinda makes them total equals in a way? like even if either attempts asking smth and the other is being vague, they will just Get It???? and when they more friendly (and tipsy lmfao) kaveh can complain about his roommate-hell, and kaeya def would just enjoy the tea, maybe actually (when more tipsy) chime in about some asshole roommate experience (idk maybe like memories of him and diluc being annoying kids u know) .. UGH SO CUTE

overall it's just 2 hot bitches being 2 hot bitches the energy would be unreal and teyvat would fall apart

like whatever au this is but kaveh stayed around long enough to meet childe, and their interaction prolly wasn't too long, but kaeya told him some things and there are Vibes, and also like childe is a fucking 11th harbinger-

basically. kaveh realizes that chaeya aren't really just some dudes who are mildly aware of each other, oh no there is clearly way more to it (with the way they talk/look at each other), maybe one time him and kaeya drink, childe comes around, doesn't stay but pays for their drinks and says something sort of flirty to kaeya

and kaveh is like OMFG IS HE HITTING ON YOU WAIT WHY ARE YOU OK WITH IT ???

and kaeya is just like lmao idk he's like funny 😏

and kaveh judges him. kaveh is the voice of reason who is kind of concerned for his new friend is a lil scared that there is a whole as harbinger buying them drinks like is this normal

Also please please do give me more info on other characters you feel comfortable with, cuz we weren't sure what we were gonna play so we are doing 3 one-shots (Im DMing all 3, pain) before setting on one, so it might be a bit extra suspicious if only 1 homestuck npc shows up and I don't know enough about Nepeta to confidently make her show up 3 times and make it seem like she's my fav and I know all about her

I WROTE THIS IN MY NOTES APP THIS IS SUPER LONG ACTUALLY AND IM SO SORRY TRY TO SKIM IT <- was asked to talk about homestuck and thought was be able to keep it brief. Wasn’t.

Karkat - I was obsessed with him then and I’m obsessed with him now he’s a loud whining piece of shit with a pretty bad attitude. Mainly a character based on him would yell as their normal speaking volume, swear a LOT and also creatively, but is also hiding an insecurity. The thing about him is he has a mutant blood color that would get him killed on his planet- so he can’t let anyone find out, he can’t accidentally bleed or cry (tears are their blood color) in front of anyone. So maybe your character is also hiding something super important? He gets along best with people who don’t really take his bitching to heart since his bitching is his way of showing real concern- he does actually care about his friends no matter how many times he calls them idiots. Also is really interested in romance as a concept and likes romcoms. He uses dual sickles as a weapon- I figure you may want this information since they’re dnd characters.

Dave - Cool kid, sunglasses he never takes off, he raps and makes beats on his turntables. He’s obsessed with irony and sorta doesn’t know how to enjoy anything without being ironic about it? Enjoys frustrating people WITH his irony. I struggle with characterizing him bc I’ve consumed a lot of fanon, but maybe that will make your presentation of him more authentic XD? A safe bet is to make your character kinda deadpan in tone but still be able to crack jokes and act pretty silly. If given the opportunity to be the hero he will not take it, he rejects the idea that he should be anyone important. He fights with swords and has a tendency to break them- but still uses them anyway. He gets the power to time travel later on, and can stop a person in time too, dunno how you’d implement that tho.

Vriska - … very very tough for me to summarize her… but I can say that a character based off her has killed one friend, paralyzed one friend, and blinded one friend, but then feel little to no remorse about any of it because they believe they’re the main character and nothing bad will happen to them since it’s all part of their story (though, she blinded that one person because that person blew up her left arm and left eye BECAUSE vriska killed that one friend). Ahem. Got carried away. Your character just did some pretty bad shit that makes them seem untrustworthy. She’s very lucky tho- it’s part of her powers- so your character should be too. She has a spider motif but it only really manifests in her adoration for spiders and her way of typing, so you may not have to worry about that. She’s popularly called the “huge 8itch” if that helps. She fights by rolling die? And depending on how they land they’ll do more or less damage. I don’t really know the specifics? But her luck powers enable her to roll exactly what she wants every time

Rose - rose is also tough for me… she’s a writer and can use a lot of big words and constructs sorta needlessly complicated sentences but she’s got a lot of wit and loves being sarcastic. She’s.. gothy? Has an interest in the occult and occult myths and she’s also pretty fascinated by wizards but I think tries to be lowkey about it? She’s a very smart and clever person too- so much so that in fanon people tend to forget she’s also kinda silly. Sorry that’s all I can say ^^; she fights using a pair of knitting needles- eventually they can also conduct magic and do damage that way. The power she gets later on is- sorta like knowing the future? She can only know the GOOD outcome but she knows specifics so that she can tell her team how they can end up getting the good outcome- she’s the strategist of the group

John - the leader of the kids! suuuper cheery and has the ability to pretty much make friends with anyone. He ends up being naive tho and may not realize when someone is trying to take control of him. He’s very interested in pranks and overall being a silly goofster ✨ if it ever comes up under no circumstances will he eat baked confections. No cakes especially. He loooves Nicolas cage and ghostbusters and some other older movies I can’t remember- other characters just tend to say he likes bad movies but he adamantly believes they’re very good. So maybe your character can also defend something that may objectively be kinda bad? His iconic weapon class is hammers 💪💪 but he also gets wind powers later- he can summon tornados or even fade into air to travel in the wind and appear somewhere else

It may be helpful to point out for nepeta- she has a best friend who’s very concerned about her well-being, equius. He even so much as controls what she can and can’t do (kinda only about certain things that are super dangerous). I don’t really like him as a character, but your npc might be hesitant to do something before asking their best friend for permission. He’s a stickler and very no-nonsense and will likely deny anything too dangerous? But also he’s incredibly terrifyingly physically strong- so your pcs wouldn’t win a fair fight with him. He also sucks up to any royalty. If any pc is royalty he’ll do anything they say. A trademark of his is that he gets very sweaty very easily and also very much likes horses. Also he likes milk. Idk. Nepeta’s weapons are these retractable claw glove things- and equius WOULD use a bow and arrow but breaks every single bow he picks up because he can’t control his strength. Instead, he fights with his fists 👍

(they’re all kinda friends but I point out their most important relationships, ones your pcs may ask about, they’re also ordered from lowest to highest class) kept these summaries vague so you can insert your npcs in their place?

Aradia - she’s dead don’t worry about her, if asked she was into roleplay, archaeology, and adventuring. friends with Terezi, dated sollux, killed by vriska if you need to know

Tavros - he’s the one who’s paralyzed from the waist down, he has no confidence whatsoever, likes the troll equivalent of Pokémon, has a bull motif, has lots of conflicting feelings about vriska (is constantly manipulated by her), and is friends with Gamzee. Attacks with a jousting spear

Sollux - likes coding and computers, has a red and blue and duality motif, speaks with a lisp, also likes bees a lot. Will not eat honey if asked tho, friends with karkat and hates Eridan. Dates Aradia and feferi. Attacks with his very strong telepathic powers, could kill him if he’s over exerted

Karkat - friends with sollux, kanaya, Jade, has a crush on Terezi but is normal about being friends with her, and is sorta chill with Gamzee and Eridan. Dates Dave but really really hated him to begin with so be careful, may say he hates Dave if asked- they date late into homestuck… would say he hates everyone if asked. Except kanaya

Nepeta - BEST friends with equius, kinda friends with Terezi? Roleplayed with her sometimes but terezi’s a little mean about it cant tell

Kanaya - she’s a very reliable friend, but fears she’s too meddlesome. interested in fashion and is also a vampire 👍 very good friends friends with karkat and dates rose (do not separate) Hates Gamzee and Eridan if asked. Attacks with a chainsaw that can also transform into lipstick

Terezi - LAWFUL whatever your character is theyre lawful. Loves dragons and she’s blind but she can smell/taste colors to the point where she can kinda see? She has something very complicated going on with vriska (she’s the one vriska blinded, but still sorta loves her as a friend). Attacks with a blade concealed in her walking stick

Vriska - she lost her left arm and eye but she gets a robot arm. Has something complicated with Tavros (kinda crushes on him kinda hates him) and Terezi, turned down a confession from Eridan (but he asks out everyone so it’s not that big a deal) but they were friends in the past

Equius - ehhhh I don’t like him idk he has a crush on Aradia and it’s weird, big thing about him is he makes robots idk. Brutally protective of nepeta- they’re best friends

Gamzee - stoner who’s (and I mean this literally) religiously devoted to clowns- wears face paint all the time and has clown horns everywhere for him to honk. Feferi - THE empress like she’s as royal as you can get, but she’s in waiting for when the current empress passes. she’s also a fish but she’s not classist- she cares a lot for people and animals and would abolish the ableist classist regime of the planet they live on if she had the power, until then she tends to aquatic animals n stuff (not afraid to kill people if necessary tho, she knows how to survive). Friends with Eridan but only to keep him from killing people, stops being friends him when there are no more people TO kill around. Dates Sollux later. Also makes fish puns. Dave - raised by his older brother who taught him sword fighting but was also super neglectful as a gaurdian and traumatized him with puppets and constant sword training and pranks. All the kids are very good friends with each other so nothing of note there but he goes on to date karkat- if asked tho he canonically was kinda struggling with finding out he was gay, though if your PCs don’t want to deal with that then do what fanon does and ignore that (I also ignore it). He’s also technically siblings with rose but doesn’t share the mom TECHNICALLY. If asked he doesn’t have a mom unless you want me to go into the alpha kids OTL

John - has just a dad who cares about him very much. And if asked regards his late grandmother very fondly. He doesn’t go on to date anyone but he does kinda hate Terezi? Troll romance is complicated I shouldn’t explain it. He’s technically siblings..? With Jade? But they don’t share the grandparents or the dad.

Rose - dates kanaya I’m serious do not separate them. She has a mom who’s an alcoholic but has a pretty humorous oneupmanship going on between them. She’s technically siblings with Dave but doesn’t share the brother

Jade - ok. So. She was raised by an omnipotent dog. Her grandpa died when she was very young and her dog (bec) took care of her. She’s very cheery - even cheerier and sweeter than John but she will not take any shit she’s not naive like him. She’s interested in science and robots and botany she’s very good at growing plants but she lived all alone on an island for most of her life. She always had visions of the future growing up but was never creeped out by them, always staying optimistic. Her main weapon is a rifle- not sure how that translates in dnd? She later gets the power to manipulate space itself- make things massive or very tiny, she gets telepathy and can move objects around at near the speed of light, and can teleport. She also becomes part dog later. I’d say she’s lawful good? Probably easy bet. She’s friends with karkat, kinda friends with Feferi, in one universe she dated an alternate version of Dave- not the Dave your PCs would meet, so if asked I dont think she exactly had a crush on him- I believe they both said their feelings are complicated. Technically siblings with John but like I said don’t share the parents

Been thinking about joining inaturalist (had a real interesting convo today w some guys who monitor fish in our creek, it’s home to a really rare species of fish that only lives here!), can you tell me a bit about it, since you use it? How does it work for uploading stuff, and do you know anything about privacy of info on it?

Did a quick poke around and there’s literally one bush by the gate into one of my paddocks on it and that’s it in my entire area! Feel like I could stand to learn and share a lot by posting some things, and also get more in touch with what’s living here besides me and my animals, yknow. =)

I'd definitely encourage you to use inaturalist! Uploading stuff is pretty straightforward, there's a website and an app. The quality of the app depends on the kind of phone you have (for some reason the apple version is way more limited and sucks, the android/everything else version is better), but either way the website is kind of the best for uploading if you have a lot to upload. If you just take photos on your phone occasionally, uploading from the android app is pretty good.

You upload things with however far of an identification you can confidently give it, ideally- so often that can just be something like, "insect" or "plant"- even that bit of detail makes it easier for people who go through identifying stuff in more specific areas to see it. And over time people will help identify things based on your photos, which is a really cool thing! It's also great for making connections with people who are interested in this stuff, hobbyists and experts alike, in my experience :-)

As for privacy, there's a few options you have there. You can upload with the locations open, which means it'll show the exact location data associated with the photo, but if you're concerned about privacy, there's a few options. You can obscure the locations of your observations, which basically sets it to show the general area rather than specific location. The obscure function has a specific radius it gives and I don't remember what it is, but if that radius isn't big enough for your comfort you could also go into the location selecting part when you're uploading and set a wider "accuracy" radius, and move the point within that circle if you wanted for good measure as long as your actual observation location is somewhere in that circle- definitely for an open location you can change that. Not sure about changing the obscure radius but if you wanted to know more on that I can look into it! Since you have the option to manually enter locations though, you could tell it something as broad as you'd like, such as your general region or even country.

You can also make the location private entirely, although this sets the observation to casual grade. There's a few downsides to this:

- casual grade observations don't come up in the searches or ID menus for people looking to identify things unless they manually toggle the option in the search

- without even a vague indication of geographical location, identifying organisms is way more difficult, because the biodiversity of different regions varies so much

- casual grade observations don't contribute to data for global biodiversity databases (whereas any research grade observations do- they are used on GBIF, specifically, which is used by a lot of scientists).

so ultimately a completely private observation is not very likely to get identified or anything. personally I'd recommend going for manually inputting a broader location to whatever extent you're comfortable with. when uploading on the desktop site you can mass edit uploads so you may also not need to manually do that one by one.

I personally love inaturalist, and I'd be happy to dm you about it more too! 10/10 would recommend I'm steadily approaching a good 19k observations on there rn

ok so first, why do people say 'woke'? most twitter (i don't give a fuck i'm not saying X) users say this and it's such a revolting word. something about it makes me feel so uncomfortable and i don't understand why people use it, when did it even become a thing that people say? it just came out of nowhere!!

second of all, is it me or do those girls who wear those KISS falsies, the thinnest drawn on eyebrows and french tip acrylics scare me. like i have no clue where they get that money to afford it from but why do they look so intimidating? half the time they're the sweetest angels you'll ever meet, but if they're not that, they are the RUDEST people you will ever find on earth. they will treat you like you murdered their whole entire bloodline. and there is never an in-between, almost like there isn't a spectrum for that type of girl. also lets talk about the fact that they always have their minions who are always brunettes who will gang up on you whether you have shit to say or not. anyways enough on that because this is too long now.

another thing i wanna point out is people who say "i don't listen to music, i only like soundtracks." LIKE SHUT THE FUCK UP. you're not 'different' if you only listen to your undertale and deltarune soundtracks and keep megalovania on repeat. you just seem stupid and love attention if you do that, i'd rather you say that you only listen to nettspend rather than that. i would admit that there are some good soundtracks out there, whether it be from games or movies. for example, the euphoria s1 and s2 soundtrack, the turning, the idol, ultrakill (tenebre rosso sangue is soooooo good) and a bunch more (i'm trying not to say where you belong and earned it from 50 shades of grey or a thousand years from twilight lol). 1 thing i'd like to say is that it does not make you different if you say that and you just seem stupid around everyone else when you say that, and that applies to everyone in my perspective. but if you actually only listen to soundtracks, please listen to actual music, its worth it.

gonna be straightforward on this one, WHY IS TIKTOK SO TOXIC? when i decided to experiment on tiktok like last month by creating a new account, my for you page was full of pro-an@ and self-h**m influencing stuff. i know there are lots of video essays on youtube regarding this but this is seriously concerning for the amount of 12 year olds (or younger) who use tiktok and indulge this content because from what i've seen, kids will watch ANYTHING and remember that shit. i'm gonna give a real life example, i was at my 9 year old cousin's birthday party and i showed her a video of the iconic 90th anniversary fendi runway show at the trevi fountain (it's my favourite show :D). 3 weeks later, i come back and she asks me the question "who was that girl in the blue dress from that video?". so i'm pretty sure this proves my point. anyways i could give endless examples of this but i don't wanna make this longer than it is already. my point is that this is seriously concerning for the younger generation, especially with those youtube shorts with the subway surfers on the right hand side of the screen and this guy talking about creepy-pastas on the left. first of all, this is basically enforcing ADHD in them since its limiting their attention span to the borderline at this point, second of all, 99% of the time that info is not true and filling your brain with misinformation. back to the point, kids will take in that content which is really harmful for them mentally and physically, this applies to boys too cus those gym videos which i always see on my fyp are pretty harmful to them and i personally don't think tiktok should be for kids.
