Finished Arcane! My condolences for being in this fandom and having to deal with the immense trauma haha

Just wanted to talk alittle about the art so it might contain some spoilers; I assure you nothing major tho

I think the biggest thing that drew me to the show is the beautiful architecture and aesthetics, the steampunk city of progress piltover reminded me so much of old games I love.

I really love how much inspiration is drawn from art Deco and art Nouveau in both the architecture but also the art you see on the walls.

Now it's just in theory cuz I don't really know much but it seems piltover leans more towards Art Deco with all the rigid geometrical architecture and furniture

While zaun is alittle more ominous and still has some elements of art Deco it leans alittle more towards Art Nouveau with the curves and more beautiful organic lines and shapes

While Zaun still draws inspiration from modern art movements I did notice this one art they did of Jinx

And how much it reminded me of Alphonse mucha, who was a part of the art Nouveau movement, pretty cool detail my nerd ass got excited for.

Would really love to do a deeper study of the art styles and aesthetics of this series cuz it's absolutely beautiful.

Now I'm going to go play Dishonored religiously this weekend. I miss Corvo my boy

the architecture in that game brings out the nerd in me and is probably the reason why I love Arcane so much

Even the illustrations in the game remind me of the Arcane artstyle but more rendered out.

The whole stuff with Caitlyn's kiramman key and the machine it operates, the gas masks and the illustrations of the Grey. They hit me like a nostalgia brick and they were so cool.

Almost feels like they should turn Arcane into a game. That would be legendary

After the photoshoot, Jax invited Zooble over to his place. Wind down after all the trouble.

Normally, they would’ve just said no and moved on with their day, but, this time around… why not?

Maybe they’d get some answers. Some stuff didn’t add up.

Zooble looked out the window with contempt.

They glanced down at the crowd of faceless fans screaming their and Jax’s names, singing praises and begging for more.

Those poor fools.

They would never have enough.

They were all just NPCs anyway. It hardly mattered.

But their staring and their screams were still unnerving and grating to Zooble’s being.

They simply closed the curtains, then turned around, and were met by the oversized lagomorph laying down on a fancy couch, drinking wine.

Being at the top of the leaderboard had its perks.

Had the whole place all to himself…

What an ego freak.

“See?” He threw his head back. “I told you the fans would go crazy over this collab.” He took a sip out of his wine and then spread his arms wide. “They’re eating it up!”

Zooble sighed and rolled their eyes. 

“As if that’s even a surprise. They’ll eat anything up.” They sat down on a different couch, keeping their eyes on the rabbit. “If you had collaborated with anyone else it wouldn’t make a difference. You’d get the same result.”

Jax went quiet as he closed his eyes, then sipping his wine again.

“Hmm… maybe you’re right.”

He snapped his fingers and pointed at Zooble.

“But aren’t you glad I picked you out of everyone else?”

Was he expecting them to be thankful?

It wasn’t like they asked for it.

It came out of nowhere.

They squinted silently.

“…Why? You know I don’t even care about the numbers. Or being popular for that matter.”

He spun his drink in his hand, reflecting on his actions for a moment.

It was almost like he wasn’t expecting them to ask.

“I dunno…”

He glanced at Zooble, giving a light shrug.

“Maybe I just felt like being nice?”

The room fell silent for a while.

“…Felt like being nice.”

Zooble repeated his words back to him.

It even felt wrong to say it out loud. They immediately dismissed it.

“Yeah, right.”

Jax simply chuckled.

“What? You don’t believe me?”

They shook their head.

“I have no reason to.”

Jax pretended to be offended, gasping and clutching at his chest. What a drama queen.

“Wow, Zooble. I’m hurt.”

They rolled their eyes once more.

“Psh.”

They got up from their seat, walking over to the bar to pour a glass of wine of their own. “…Whatever.”

I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol

............................................. I'm regretfully writing a fanfic.

It's not gonna be big, but dialogue has been running in my head 24/7 and if I don't write it down I'll explode. Writing is a fun break from drawing besides and I genuinely feel like slowly dissecting other characters is helping me revisit my original stories, and dissect my own characters and bring more continuity and subtlety into them.

I have forgotten how fun nightmares can be when nothing from reality is mixed in. No family members, no pyrophobia triggers, I'm not even there aside from spectating.

Had pokemon characters and stuff.

It was insane so I'm going to talk about it.

I don't remember if anything happened before this but the blueberry academy elite 4 all got teleported to some other world. Crispin, Lacey, Amarys, and Drayton all forced into a horror world together. What could go wrong?

That other world also had pokemon in it. Some that I recognized and some that were specific to that other world apparently.

I'm certain things happened in between the time they got there and the time they were at the part I remember, it's just my memory of several parts of the nightmare are fuzzy.

So all elite 4 of them were running from a guzzlord. One of the pokemon I recognized obviously but these people had no idea what it was. Drayton had the idea to start throwing pokeballs at it though. It went in and broke free several times and Drayton said to the other elite 4 members to start throwing pokeballs at it and whoever's ball it stays in gets to keep it.

So this idea of Drayton's was a method of making this guzzlord stop chasing them. Actually a pretty good idea. None of them had their mons with them so catching that would give them something to defend themselves with.

I think it was Amary who ended up catching it. Good job Amarys.

It got dark but they figured it would be smarter to sleep in shifts so if anything appeared they would be able to know it. They drew straws to choose who would be the first to sleep. Drayton won so he went to sleep.

Then Drayton had a nightmare. Ooh nightmare within a nightmare. How cool is that? That's where the fakemon I dreamt up first appeared if I recall correctly. They had a fake type too. Nightmare type. How hilariously fitting.

Anyways.

It was strong against every other type and resisted damage from every other type and everything with the type all looked like something out of the horror genre.

In Drayton's nightmare in my own nightmare, he was wandering some tunnels that were entirely soggy. From the floors to the ceilings. Everything. Like thick gray mud. He got to a bigger room that was wide and sat down against a wall. Then Carmine walked up to him seemingly out of nowhere.

I'm realizing how funny that is for Drayton to see Carmine in his nightmares. But anyhoo

This Carmine was wearing a kind-of-long lab coat and holding a medieval weapon. So it wasn't just any Carmine. Looked just like one of my au Carmines. Specifically the one in the apocalypse au. What's she doing here lol

She told him "You need to wake up. Sleeping in this universe should be done in a town or you never wake up. Anything those nightmare pokemon do to you in your nightmare happens in reality."

Drayton just responded "I never had a self aware nightmare before."

Hello???? What level of self aware dreamery(?) is this????

Carmine then tried to wake up Drayton with some kind of device but Drayton blocked it for some reason. Then Drayton said something else but I don't remember what.

The au Carmine said "I'm not your universe's Carmine. I'm not even meant to be in this universe either. Now stop goofing off so I can help you escape before they get here."

Drayton continued to not take her seriously but then something that looked like the Scyphozoa from Code Lyoko appeared and just . stabbed Carmine in the upper back with a tentacle thingy that came out through the front and she collapsed in front of Drayton and was coughing up an unnatural amount of blood. Ya know. Like an anime. Then it picked her up and struck Drayton in his chest with another one of its tentacles but he managed to pick up the device that Carmine dropped and woke himself up with it before it was able to stab him all the way through.

She's fine probably. Apocalypse au Carmine is suspiciously over-powered despite not having any supernatural abilities.

Drayton woke up to the sight of the other elite 4 members alarmed by the sight of his chest bleeding. Also they had been trying to wake him up for several minutes and he wouldn't wake up before this.

So like. He just woke up in a panic and sat right up the moment he was stabbed in his nightmare after being unable to be woken up.

The wound was in the shape of an x and instead of being a normal cut and being inwards, it was poking out slightly and it was also pulsating all weird-like. Naturally this made everyone concerned and confused.

Drayton told everyone everything he saw and everything the au Carmine said. Then everyone became even more concerned. What kind of horrors could "they" be? The other elite 4 members couldn't deny how much sense it made for the things in Drayton's nightmare to be true considering what just took place.

Now they needed to find a town to stay in before anyone could sleep. Amarys sent out the guzzlord and they all rode on its back.

Eventually they found a town.

I don't remember much from that time but the mayor of the town was secretly evil and Drayton was thrown into a dungeon full of nightmare pokemon. The reason Drayton was thrown into a dungeon was from the mayor acting like his nightmare-wound was going to make him turn into one of the evil dangerous nightmare pokemon. This was false. The mayor was a servant of the nightmare pokemon and just recognized the wound as "unfinished business".

Unbeknownst to anyone though, Drayton was going to get weird spooky powers from it. It's not like anyone stabbed in one of those nightmares in the nightmare normally survives. So how are they to know?

Amarys was able to sneak the guzzlord's ball to Drayton so he could defend himself while the others tried to find a way for him to escape the dungeon.

The elite 4 all knew the mayor was a liar but idk how they found out. Maybe the apocalypse au Carmine made a comeback and warned someone idk.

Now I'm going to skim over other parts of the nightmare because I don't remember some things.

At some point Drayton was capable of something that was close to flight and he transformed into some kind of twisted nightmare version of himself that looked awesome. This terrified the others because they were told the mayor was lying. They calmed down after Drayton revealed he could still control himself and change back to normal.

In another part of the nightmare there was something in a verrry haunted house outside of another town that they needed for something. Drayton and Crispin went in to try and find it.

They had to retreat for some reason and Drayton just picked up Crispin bridal style and didn't quite start dashing out of there, but he did some kind of movement that was like majestic leaping. A voltorb jumped to them and tried to explode on them but Drayton kinda just pushed it in the opposite direction with one of his hands when it pounced at them. It was kind of comical looking.

They escaped the haunted house and that's about when I woke up

Sometimes I feel very sad that I didn’t just focus on one creative skill. I look at my art some days and go I wish I’d spent all my time making only that, because that way it would look better and I’d do more and it wouldn’t matter if I couldn’t write very well because my art would be amazing and I’d be able to make the stuff I really want to and maybe even get a job related to it and I wouldn’t feel like so much time was wasted. And often times it really does feel like you’re wasting time and everything is telling you to just pick something to focus on so it can mean something and you can never seem to pick one of anything.

And then other days I feel like an absolute GOD. Anyone else able to write your own fic and then draw art for it just because you can? Can you make an edit/amv after writing a silly little analysis post on the show/character that is so perfectly on beat and fits the lyrics and with transitions so slapping you get chills while watching? Can you write a short silly ditty on the guitar about how you’re feeling using the eight chords know and belt it out only a little bit off key then do a choppy little animation of your sona singing it?

I may not be the most skilled at all of the above, and it can be a little lonely to be a one man band who doesn’t play half as well as a lot of people out there, but when your power goes out or your wifi dies or you have a day off, everyone else is busy and you’re alone...

An update on what I post;

I may start drawing more art of other fandoms (such as Poppy Playtime, Warrior Cats, ect). Do not panic!!! Pizza Tower still is my main hyperfixation, and that's what I'll be drawing the most of! However, I'm experiencing art block and want to draw things other than just Pizza Tower in order to get my creative juices flowing. Just wanted to let y'all know and reassure you that the Pizza Tower art is here to stay!
