For the ask game: I wish you would write a fic where the KHUX cast were Digimon tamers/chosen children (since I know you ALSO like both franchises, haha).

Oho, this is a fun idea

First thing that comes to mind is Ventus with a meicoomon. Powerful but small? Has a "good" evolution line and a "bad" one? Absolutely fitting. Khux ventus would have a meicoomon → meicrackmon → rasielmon partner I think; wayfinder ventus has a meicoomon → wingdramon → dynasmon partner, while Vanitas has meicoomon → meicrackmon vicious mode → raguelmon as a partner. Ventus-vanitas can have ordinemon as a bit of "wow this is a messed up situation huh", as a treat.

Skuld feels like she'd have a Lunamon (probably Lunamon → lekismon → crescemon → dianamon, traditional evolution line).

Ephemer with Coronamon (and the traditional Coronamon → firamon → flaremon → apollomon line) fits well as well I think. For a bonus, he and skuld's friendship could mean that while player fights them, player's partner digimon could have to fight against a very powerful GraceNovamon, ahaha

I'm not sure what partner I'd give Brain or Player, but I think Lauriam could do well with a Palmon. Lillymon or Rosemon would be the strongest form his partner would get to, I think; I can also imagine said partner going down the Palmon → vegimon → blossomon → lotusmon post-khux, when by marluxia's side

Tbh I feel like one could put digimon alongside khux pretty easily; keyboard wielders having digimon partners as well, and it being tied to that legacy of being a keyblade wielder or something. Digimon partners helping their tamers, not too dissimilar to a chirithy if you think about it -- friends that're for the most part Always There.

Anyways the tldr is I don't think it'd change canon too much but it would be a fun lil fic to write at some point. Digital creatures who are your friends <3

2.) What does your OCs handwriting look like? The best way to describe C'vimi's handwriting would be cramped and difficult to read. The eorzean alphabet is a beast i won't touch so the closest equivalent i can think of is like. russian cursive. godspeed to anyone that needs a note from her.

9.) If your OC were to imagine their idyllic life (realistically or otherwise) what would it be like? Traveling the world and having all kinds of new experiences while having a warm home and friends to return to!...with no high stakes, no countries that need liberating or 1000 year old wars that need ending, please. I can't decide if she would've joined the Redbills or stayed a wandering dancer/white mage though.

15.) What is a common misconception about your OC? (Alternatively, what do people assume about them which is either incorrect or misconstrued?) Although it wouldn't be entirely remiss to think she has a head full of air, with her being the first to admit she's not great with book-smarts, C'vimi catches on to things pretty quickly! Also, one would think that as being a healer first and foremost, she would not be a fan of fighting but. she loves it, C'vimi lives for the thrill of coming out on top of difficult fights and challenging herself.

17.) What sort of role do they take on in relationships, either familial, romantic or platonic. i.e. are they a defender, protector, nurturer, etc. Nurturer, i think. C'vimi encourages others to find and be their best self, and will be there to assist in whatever way she can.

23.) What sort of routines, rituals or rules do they have or set for themselves? A personal rule she has is that she will heal and otherwise provide aid to anyone who needs it, no matter who they are. It can be hard to remember, sometimes.

Aeon Lover AU Part 2

Characters: Aha, IX

Note: This AU I plan to eventually make Yandere, not in this part but I feel like it's good to let people (my fellow small crowd of Aeon lovers) know.

You stared at Aha's human form, not breaking eye contact as a manic grin stayed on their face. "So you're Aha?"

"Maybeee, maybe I am, maybe I'm not! Does it matter? I'm just here to help you!" They said trying to act all innocent, and blinking their long eye lashes once and then twice.

You paused for a moment, observing the person in front of you. You took a step forward and Aha remained still completely oblivious to your nefarious intentions. You reached your hands out to them and they immediately grabbed them with their own, interlocking them. Holy shit-- your whole body overloaded with that move as your face begin to burn and jumped away.

"Wasn't that what you were trying to do?" Aha asked coyly, smiling at you and holding their empty hand out to you.

You grabbed onto their hand, trying to move it out of the way of their body, "No, I'm trying to undress you," Aha froze at your words mouth twitching, "This body is just a medium right? I'm hoping you didn't steal it... But if you created it I want to see if there's any discrepancies between it and a human body." Perhaps there'd be some kind of dead give away?

The only thing that suggested that Aha wasn't human was their other worldly beauty. "Why did you choose to be so attractive anyway? How much can you change your form?" You asked leaning closer to observe them, a small mole rested beneath the tip of their left eye.

Now that Aha's hand was successfully pushed to the side you tried to remove your hand from it, only to feel their fingers dig into your skin and your hand unable to move. Whatever, you didn't mind holding hands with them the warmth felt nice and made your heart race, albeit that was a bit distracting.

Aha had leaned away from you a bit, their red lips quivering as they held in a laugh before breaking into full out giggles. "Ahaha, you're so forward Y/N," Their eyes flickered over to you, "If you wanted to sleep with me you could've just said so?" They teased you.

You paused at their words, that... being with an Aeon were you worthy of that? Could anyone be worthy of that? Fantasizing was one thing but... if you were given the chance... your head was getting too muddled with thoughts of this. Aha was just joking anyway but if there was an Aeon that would be up to sleeping with a human for fun then... it would probably be Aha wouldn't it?

"What did you mean earlier when you said you were here to help me?" You asked changing the topic and averting your eyes from them. You tried to pull your hand away again but it stuck to Aha's. Your head shot up, "Did you glue our hands together?!"

Aha laughed, staring down at you, "I was going to be your wingman for an Aeon but--"

"Really?!" You perked up immediately throwing your other arm around Aha's back and holding him closer. You didn't bother moving your glued hand and instead kept it in Aha's grasp. "That'd really be amazing!" It was no wonder Aha would find entertainment from trying to set a normal human up with an Aeon.

You'd read that he once picked up a random worm and made it incredibly intelligent to try and grab the attention of Nous. When it failed he discarded the worm without a second thought. It was weird to think you were on the same level as a worm but hey, it gave you a chance to maybe meet another Aeon. You stared at Aha's face, noticing the slightly furrowed sharp eyebrows and their eyes cast downward. You wondered if they'd show you their Aeon form one day?

Either way they seemed a bit upset right now? Annoyed? Perhaps they were just holding in their laugh super hard right now. You deemed that it was probably the latter as a smile overtook their face.

"Of course! " They grinned letting out a small giggle and holding up their entwined hand with yours, and dashing behind you, "I'm so sad! You're over me already!" You knew it was a joke but for some reason you felt a great feeling of heartbreak come over you. You felt like falling to your knees but you stood still anyway feeling one of Aha's arms circle around your neck.

You smiled despite the discomfort, "Well every Aeon is beyond interesting. It'd be nice to meet..." You felt like you were choking, "another one. Obviously, I don't imagine anything beyond meeting them," You admitted feeling your insecurity well up.

Aha laughed wildly and for once you felt on edge around them. You had been acting rather foolishly recently, trusting an Aeon especially one with such chaotic goals, you should be more wary.

"You want to see an Aeon's true form?" Aha asked you, and you could feel their breath on your ear.

Interesting if this was a body they made then they'd gotten the heat aspect down completely, from the warmth of their body to the heat of their breath. You wondered if at any point Aha had been a human. Tayzzyronth had been the last of its species. Nanook was suspected to have come from a planet riddled with destruction and upon seeing the destruction of the aftermath of Tayzzyronth and the Mechanical Empire rose to Aeonhood. But how did the majority of the Aeons start? What were they? Who was Aha before they were an Aeon?

"Wait," You froze finally registering Aha's question, "I... could see an Aeon's true form?" Your heart beat as fast as a humming bird.

"Do you want to? I think it'll be fun," Aha asked again, you could feel their abdomen shake against you and you realized how poorly this could go depending on what Aha found most entertaining.

You could see an Aeon which wouldn't care for you or even glance at you, like Nous. Or Aha may somehow know where Nanook is, and teleport you to that Aeon and... you'd seen what happened to the trailblazer when they met Nanook in the simulated universe. The trailblazer had been immediately killed. That being said Aha didn't really need your consent and you had an inkling that if you said no, you'd meet an Aeon's true form anyway. Plus, it's not like you weren't curious.

"Of course I do." You barely finished speaking before you felt a sudden amount of joy fill you, ecstasy flooded your senses, and your lips opened by themselves letting laughter escape them. The sudden amount of power distracted you from your inability to breathe.

You were in space. Yet you still felt warm, you felt unbearably happy, and you saw Aha in their human form behind you. They laughed at your expression, "My reveal should be the last!" They chattered on excitedly, "But you wouldn't really be able to be here without any help. So I lended a helping hand!" Their eyes were wide with joy and you felt the urge to pat their head.

So you did. "Thank you." They stared at you a bit stunned for a moment, cheeks with a bit more color than usual despite being in space, but you thought nothing of it as they grabbed onto your shoulders and turned you around.

"Look!" Their voice was quiet and strained, you could hear the smile in their voice.

But all of the warmth you felt quickly disappeared as you stared at the Aeon in front of you. Purple swirls and a black mysterious mass stared back at you for a brief moment. You looked into the abyss and the abyss looked back.

To an extent you'd always known that the world would eventually become nothing. That everything you worked toward, no matter how long it benefitted humanity, would eventually disappear with humanity itself. That the planets themselves would fall apart inevitably being swallowed by blackholes which would become nothing themselves. That one day even the fundamental parts of the universe would cease to exist.

That the nothingness you couldn't comprehend would one day be all there is.

You couldn't even sob. The fear that had existed in your body initially had turned into numbness, not numbness it turned into nothingness. You weren't afraid. You weren't anything. It was just

There was something holding you back. A faint warmth coming from your hand, which you found unable to move. You were stuck to something. Aha! You let yourself laugh, your mouth didn't move nor did any sound come out. It didn't feel as if you had a mouth or any form of a body but you did.

You knew one day everything you did would amount to nothing. That's why everything you did wasn't focused on the future. It was enough to enjoy the moment, and tomorrow. You'd had the opportunity to meet such a wonderful Aeon after all. You stared at the black and purple cosmos in front of you, the eyes on it no longer glancing your way. You no longer felt enthralled with joy or burdened with despair but rather, you felt like you.

Your life was insignificant in the grand scheme of things. That was exactly why you could enjoy in the beauty of what was insignificant. Of the flowers in Spring, of the creations in the simulated universe, of the people around you.

"How beautiful," Your voice came out soft as you gazed upon the lonely being. You smiled feeling a fire rise within you. No wonder there was a whole faction dedicated to making such a magnificent creature see the purpose in existing.

Aha laughed, "I'm surprised you didn't fall to nihility! Three cheers for Y/N!" The glue between your hand and theirs seemed to have faded away, as they brought their hands up to clap and cheer out your name.

"I don't know, you sound a bit disappointed," You watched IX disappear from your sight wistfully and then turned to Aha with a smile resting on your face.

Aha held a hand to their chest in offense as they gasped, "I am! You're so mean! Acting like IX is that interesting when we both know I'm ten times more cool!"

You flicked their forehead, "Let's head back to Herta's space station now." Aha laughed, finding amusement in the smallest of actions and the two of you returned.

You managed to find your way back to the topic of IX again. Aha, being an Aeon, had never felt the nothingness from IX and had asked you to describe it.

You went into as much detail as you could and then spoke in a serious tone, "I'm surprised I made it. I knew everything does eventually become nothing, and I knew it isn't nothing right now. I knew that it's less about the meaning of our existence and life and more about the meaning of every day. But the sensation of becoming nothing is... indescribable."

You paused trying to analyze the feeling you'd come across, "For a creature that doesn't know much or one whose only purpose is to live seeing the Nihility would be fatal. But humans... are beyond that. We still live but there are things we treasure above living and even the future of the whole universe." Your Aeon merch being one of them, "Even if one day those things were to disappear with everything else, it's enough for us to have had them in our lifetime. Maybe to an extent a permanent short sightedness is needed."

What you'd experience who can never be explained by any words, the absolute dread and despair. No matter how hard you tried to describe the sensation of nothingness to Aha you couldn't find the words. But you knew now how feeling nothing was worse than even feeling pain. Because from experiencing pain the pleasure and joy you later experienced became more defined and recognizable. You can only rise as high as the lowest you fall.

The good makes the bad worse and the bad makes the good better. They work in tandem. Even if the end result was nothingness for all of the time in between you still wanted to feel and you couldn't get rid of that innate want. Still your whole body trembled as you felt a smile rise to your face-- IX-- IX was just way too cool!

You turned to Aha, grabbing them and hugging them, "Aha! Thank you so much!" You grinned, you didn't want to tell them that their hand had been what brought you out of IX's trance, you wanted to keep that knowledge to yourself, "This may be the best day of my life yet!"

IX was a being withholding so much pain and despair, a creature just waiting for the end. But there was so much more than just the end. When reading a story, sometimes you know the two main characters will die that doesn't mean it isn't worth reading. And of course you wanted to show IX all there was.

Aha looked at you for a moment, face blank and speechless before hugging you back and erupting into laughter. You twirled the Aeon's human form around before letting go and began to ponder.

"Now I wonder... would it be possible for IX to take a human form?"

It would be difficult to bring the Aeon the beauties and wonders of life, as well as the pains considering they were just floating in the sky. It'd be easier if you could bring the Aeon around, but even if they did have a human form you weren't sure you'd be able to drag them around anyway. Even after surviving the encounter you got the feeling your emotions and will to live would numb around them if you spent a long time with them. You'd just have to get stronger first!

Okay writing the emotions IX gives you is a toughie DAMN don't know how I'm going to make the romance work out but I'm sure future me will work something out

also when i wrote this line "When reading a story, sometimes you know the two main characters will die that doesn't mean it isn't worth reading." i went into one story knowing the two characters both died at the end by driving off a cliff and i still cried despite rarely crying, it was only 6 chapters and one of the best webcomics i've ever read to this day. so fucking worth it

i dont fucking know what powers Aeons have but i'm pretty sure super speed and shit is one of them cause in SU Qlipoth just like appeared at the beginning cus they thought Trailblazer was Akivili and if that creature can like teleport or do super speed fuck it everyone can.

Leona: Sigh, these interviews are a pain… Crazy how they can keep doing this year after year without gettin' bored of it.

Leona: So then, I wonder who's my presenter this year…

???: Ay, I made it. Excuse me!

Cater: Heya, Leona-kun. Happy Birthday!

Leona: Tch, and in walks in one of the loud ones.

Cater: EH, DID YOU JUST CLICK YOUR TONGUE!? C'mon, it's your birthday, you gotta try to have a bit of fun ♪

Cater: Today, I'm planning on asking you every little thing to learn everything about you, Leona-kun, so be prepared～

Leona: Well, aren't you real chipper. Alright, I'm fully expecting you to make this the best birthday ever, then.

Cater: U-Uh, you might be putting a little too much pressure on me there? But okay, let me just restart, and… Let's dive into the first question!

Cater: “If you could use flight magic to go anywhere, where would you like to go?”

Cater: And, it doesn't look like you have to worry about the amount of magic you'd have to use.

Leona: So, anywhere I want, huh… Then, I want to go to a full-service hotel and spend my time lounging about.

Cater: Ooh, so you want to just enjoy a resort to the max. That sounds great, and I bet you'd be able to take a ton of awesome pics ♪

Leona: Yeah, I'm not planning on going to any of the noisy places you're probably thinking of.

Leona: Since I'm going to be using flight magic to get there anyway, I'd rather find a remote place that normal people wouldn't really be able to get to.

Cater: But if it's a remote location… Then You can't really enjoy any sightseeing or recreational activities.

Leona: I told you, I wanted to just lounge about. If I were to run around like that, it completely defeats the purpose.

Cater: So, basically…. You're wanting to "do nothing," right?

Leona: Yeah, that's the best way to live in luxury, don't you think?

Leona: Food is prepared when I'm hungry, and the bath is ready for whenever I feel like taking one.

Leona: And there, in that quiet and comfortable environment, I can sleep peacefully without being bothered by anyone else

Cater: Not being bothered and in a quiet place, huh. Yeah, I guess that's not a bad way to go about it.

Leona: Right? As Dorm Leader and as Captain of the Magift team, there's a ton of things I have to constantly worry about, you know.

Leona: Basically, that just means that I also need some time off to rest my mind and body once in a while.

Cater: Ahaha. I bet I know a few people who'd be cross hearing you say that… But hey, I guess I get how you feel, Leona-kun.

Cater: Alllright, now that I got to hear a lot about that, I'll move on to the next question ♪

Cater: 'Kay, second question!

Cater: "What is your best class?"

Cater: Now here's a super interesting question!

Leona: Huh? How.

Cater: Yeah, because you're real smart. So I def wanna know what class you like best～

Leona: So, you think I'm smart, huh. I guess I'll go ahead and take that as a compliment.

Cater: Well, obviously it's a compliment! I have a hard time getting most of my classes, so I'm a bit jelly. Is there some trick to it?

Leona: I've had private tutors ever since I was a child. Obviously, the curriculum also contained classes that wouldn't be found in this school, too.

Cater: Uh… which means?

Leona: All the stuff that they teach here at this school, I learned way before enrolling.

Leona: Basically, everything I know isn't from just sitting behind a desk and studying like crazy, like your little Dorm Leader.

Cater: I see～ So you're saying that the stuff we learn in class are basically second nature to you, huh.

Cater: Okay, then, let me change the wording up a little bit… What's your favorite class?

Leona: My favorite class, hm… If I had to choose one, that'd be Ancient Incantations. That one is at least not as boring as the other classes.

Cater: Woah, Ancient Incantations, huh～ That's the one where you try to decipher old languages that aren't even used anymore, right?

Cater: And there's still a ton of languages that haven't been deciphered yet, either, right?

Leona: Yeah. And many of those languages were made to conceal magic spells in the first place. So they were already created to be complex.

Leona: That's why even subject matter experts also have a hard time combing through them.

Leona: Even just trying to read the individual letters is a chore. And even if you can figure those out, there's no point unless you can actually understand the words and sentences.

Leona: It has to be carefully analyzed by comparing the new content to old words that have already been translated, or rules that have already been pre-established.

Cater: I already have trouble with just what's in our textbooks, so I can't even imagine trying to figure out even more difficult things like those languages…

Cater: What can someone do to get better at ancient incantations?

Leona: It's just that I already was interested in that type of thing. I guess the thing that dragged me into it was this inscription I found in the Sunset Savanna.

Leona: There was this very long engraving in some old language…

Leona: The first time I looked at it, I had no idea what it was supposed to say, but then I started to translate it in my spare time, and…

Cater: AND? WH-WHAT DID IT SAY? SOME KIND OF ROYAL SECRET THAT NO ONE KNOWS!?

Leona: It was just the country's history. On top of that, basically it was stuff already in the textbooks.

Cater: Ehhh, you got my hopes up, and that was it? That was kinda anticlimactic.

Leona: Yeah, it's basically a boring story once you get into it… But it wasn't too terrible learning how to decipher it.

Cater: Last question! Here we go.

Cater: “What would you like to do in the coming year?”

Leona: Not to repeat a year, that's all.

Cater: Wh…! EH, THAT'S IT!?

Leona: Isn't that important enough?

Cater: I mean, yeah, but～! You gotta have something else you wanna do too.

Cater: Like, surpassing 1,000 followers on Magicam, or winning a Magift tournament…

Leona: Okay, then that.

Cater: Eh, what do you mean by "that"?

Leona: The whole, "winning a Magift tournament" thing.

Leona: I want to draw out the magical shift team's full potential and win at the national championships― That's closer to the answer you were looking for, right?

Cater: Now you're making me feel like I forced you to say that～ …Well, I guess that's better than not getting an answer.

Cater: Okay, then, I got a question for you, since you're captain of the team! Do you ever coach the younger students?

Leona: Yeah, of course. For example…

Leona: There's some guys who'll slack off during games because they don't have enough stamina and they want to conserve energy.

Leona: It'll be detrimental to have people not give their all during important games. So, to help build stamina, during passing practice…

Leona: I would send the disc flying long so they'd have to run from one end of the pitch to the other.

Cater: Woah, that's so tough! If you're that hard on them, won't you have students drop out…?

Leona: That's also part of it.

Cater: Eh, what do you mean?

Leona: We don't need anyone who takes off and runs like a coward just because their pride and confidence is torn down.

Leona: They should get angry when defeated and vow to do anything to get revenge―

Leona: The Magift club doesn't need anyone who lacks that kind of determination.

Leona: Only the guys who are fully prepared to overcome anything can get a starting spot on the team.

Cater: W-Wow… You're really sounding like a team captain, Leona-kun!

Cater: But I guess it's a little surprising to hear that you take care of your teammates like that. Maybe you're actually a softie inside?

Leona: Hah? No way.

Leona: I'm just doing the bare minimum as the leader of the pack.

Leona: I'd rather be spared being held back by someone who's just completely useless.

Cater: Interview completed～! Next is… Ta-da! Here we are, take this broom and go fly on the Birthday Road.

Leona: Sheesh, that's a fancy lookin' broom.

Cater: Yeah, it's pretty showy, but it's also pretty dignified, so I think it's perfect for you, Leona-kun ♪

1 - How many works do you have on AO3?

oh god, 128! but this is an underestimate, because i've anon'd some older fics/fandoms hehehe. i've been 'round ao3 since 2012!

2 - What's your total AO3 word count?

498,649... now this is actually accurate. 300k of that is from 2020 until now. basically the pandemic got me on a writing kick.

3 - What fandoms do you write for?

SO MANY. 19 according to ao3, but right now? baldurs gate & redacted audios >:3 there is another halsin fic in the works...

4 - What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

oh god. okay. you'll get some older fics here: 1. got me on my best (bad) behaviour 2. Call me scent o' mental, but I'm crazy about you (teen wolf....) 3. all bark, no bite 4. devils and ghosts (frank castle / karen page!! love this one heh) 5. sweeter than honey (ofc halsin makes it ahaha)

5 - Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

YES. there are only a few exceptions, when I've written something that touches close to home / a sensitive topic.

6 - What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

hmm...bittersweet endings were my wheelhouse for a long time. OKAY. let's do this one: too little, too late. caroline forbes and klaus mikaelson, set at the end of the originals. yeah.

7 -What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

....nowadays, I mostly write happier endings sadhfjk lets go with: bioluminescence, which follows on from the events of blood moon (@/barbwrites) and takes marco on a roadtrip to see luminescent algae up close and personal. (it's a loveletter to a summer I spent in california during a really difficult period of my life, and this fic means a lot to me <3)

8 - Do you get hate on fics?

I've not gotten hate, but I've definitely had some interesting comments over the years, for a variety of reasons, usually to do with the person's personal views. (one story had the main character smoking pot to calm their anxiety, and someone was not happy with that)

9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

YEP. Smut with feelings is my FAVOURITE thing. I prefer sensual descriptions, because it is all about feelings and sensations with me. as an ace writer, I also like kink and monster fuckery heheheh.

10 - Do you write crossovers?

Yes, and it was teen wolf, and honestly not one of my best. it was a hatchet job, they took random paragraphs and spliced it / wrote around it? someone flagged it to me in a comment, and it was taken down. all in all, a very weird experience.

ahhhh. okay. 'wander. wonder.' my poly longfic. don't hate me, but honestly, I've just not got the space for a longfic at the moment. never say never, but I've caught up with the chapters I had worked up, everything else is a vague outline. <3

oof. I want to say character. most of the fun for me when writing is getting inside a characters head and figuring out their voice >:3

Structuring longer, multi-chaptered stories - basically figuring out the pacing of it. I'm working on an original project, and I love it, but the first series of major edits will be breaking up my alternating POV sections into proper chapter breaks and letting myself linger more in moments instead of pushing forward (habits of a oneshot writer fdsds)

18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've been meaning to have my estonian friend critique my estonian, but I'm pretty positive the 'bond' I referred to is actually the money kind, and not the emotional attachment I'd been hoping to refer to hfjdkssfdg. I do as much research as I can, but it's best to run it past someone who speaks the language!

DP x WC fics are underrated (imo)

I don't know about you, but I feel like we're severely lacking in Danny Phantom x White Collar stuff. I mean, I haven't seen either myself but I've read an abundance of fics to where I get the general idea. And I've already devoured all the DP x WC fics out there and they're cool, and we're missing out. Like. There is the existence of a Danny Brooks being one of Neal's aliases. Well it's more his name in WITSEC (in which I think the explanation was that they gave you new identities to protect you. because its.. well, witness protection) Which could so easily become his real name, or the potential that Neal was put for, well, adoption (it could've also just been foster care, dont ask why, but his mom died and while the fentons weren't immediately up for adopting, jazz was stubborn and adored him. or maybe he just ran away and jazz found him and convinced the fentons to take him in? there is a variety of backstories that could happen, and it could even just be that neal does not exist and its just a cover name, for whatever reason. whether hiding from the GiWs or not, who knows. and that logically Danny values freedom so he'd never let himself get caught, unless he did, and technically can travel with like the ring thing as, oOooO, ghoST KiNG. idfk. ) regardless. honestly this just started because i found this cool fic where neals a danny clone (in which i really kind of just want them, like the agents to notice the weird behavior, being super sus, fucking vlad, yknow, brr. but itd probably be shit for me to write it cause i am not a danny phantom watcher ahaha? i was sucked into the world of DP x DC against my will and then found i actually enjoyed it, which is the case for most new fandoms i discover...?) although i understand its kind of just.. weird to bring in this superpower thing into universes, but i mean i adore crossovers. ..unless its like a huge amount in which 'how the fuck am i meant to read that' so im just talking about like.. just two fandoms. not counting like the other fandom tags like.. cause theres multiple tags for the different book series for pjo. like.. PJO, HoO, TOA, despite the fact that they're in the same universe. That'd technically count as the same fandom, also considering theres usually a tag thats like 'PJO - all media types' anyway. um. yeah. have a fun day.

Russell: *observes Vinnie for a moment before walking over* "Hey, Vinnie, you good? That was quite a tumble. Need a hand up?" * Vinnie mumbles* *Russell noticing Vinnie is breathing and appears unharmed, he sits down beside him* "Alright, you're still kickin'. I'll just keep you company then." *he pulls out his book and starts reading, occasionally glancing over at Vinnie and patting his back.*

Sunil: "Vinnie! Hey, are you alright?!" *not getting a response, Sunil starts to panic* "Vinnie! Answer me, man! Don't mess around like this!" *he rushes over, frantically calling out Vinnie's name pulls Vinnie up, relieved to see he's okay* "Phew, thank goodness you're alright!" *he gives Vinnie a tight hug, then dusts him off * "Let's get you back inside, buddy. No more scares like that, okay?" *Sunil helps Vinnie back indoors, keeping a watchful eye on him.*

Zoe: Darling, are you alright? Oh, come on now, we can't have you laying there. If you don't get up, you'll get all dirty, *approaches Vinnie, noticing he's breathing and seemingly okay* "Well, you seem to be in one piece. Let's make sure you stay cozy then." *she gently drapes a blanket over him, ensuring he's comfortable* "There, that should keep you warm while you're enjoying your little rest..."

Minka: Hey, Vinnie, you good?" *not getting a response, she gets playful* "Come on, sleepyhead, time to wake up! Vinnie! Vinnie! Vinnie!" *she starts jumping around him, calling his name in a sing-song voice, trying to rouse him. noticing Vinnie still isn't responding, she gets a bit more assertive* "Alright, buddy, time to wake up!" *she pulls his hair to lift his head* "Oh good, you're not dead! Let's play something fun to get you back on your feet!”

If the rumour that Dean Deblois is returning to direct a remake of HTTYD is true, I hope this time it's a more faithful adaptation of the books!

[Edit: I notice you didn't mention live action in your message at all. This is what I get for answering an ask on a fever. Apologies!]

I hear this every time conversation of live actions returns to the HTTYD fandom. XD And so I'll say my hill I'll live on again, ahaha, if that's alright with you. To be honest and with all kindness, I think a live action would be an extremely poor match for the whimsical charm of the books. If the books were to be adapted faithfully, they'd require the opposite: the levity of good 2D animation style! ^.^

I wouldn't want to see a Toothless visually limited by the bounds realism or semi-realism... but a highly expressive, emotive Toothless whose obnoxiousness and voice can be best transmitted to us through the zany, colorful, flashy, fast, and limitless world of animation. He works better as an animated, cartoonish creature, as even Cowell's art illustrates. Wouldn't a Toothless limited by the slower, sloggier bounds of a live action be dull and not up to par with the imagination? Wouldn't it be so much more fun and charming to see the Hairy Hooligans with wild beards and all the colors of the world and bright animation of every wacky dragon you could think of?

Cowell's writing is like a child's sketchbook, uninhibited and ridiculously creative and unrealistic and free. It deserves a style to match.

I understand wanting a faithful adaptation of the books because I think a cute 2D animated short TV series could be a fantastic way to do them and I'd enjoy it, but personally, if someone said "live action HTTYD movie remake of the books," I'd be heavily worried and know it would turn out bad. It's a mismatch of styles. The live action would drag everything down. The reason the movies changed plot in the first place was trying to adapt the story to a new medium, the Hollywood movie, and I respect them for that.

In the end, anything vaguely touching DreamWorks Land is going to care about capitalizing on DreamWorks's success. Its 2010 animated movie obviously started one of its most successful franchises ever. It's proven screen success and that's all a big corporation backing it will care about. They're going to adapt that because that's where the brand, the money, the public knowledge, and the audience is. At this point, you'd have to get an entirely separate creative team entirely separate from DreamWorks starting from the ground up to expect something more books-related. And frankly, probably something from smallish organizations, too, since adapting closer to the HTTYD books would now be more of a "niche" project.

I know the books fandom wants that adaptation bad because people keep saying this over and over, but I vote that instead of people desperately raising live action to the table (because eveeeerrrything has a live action now), lean into the heart of what the books convey, and want an adaptation that'd do it proper.

As far as information about DeBois returning, it's in news sources like the Hollywood Reporter:

Taking a massive swing, Universal Pictures has put in motion a How to Train Your Dragon live-action movie, with Dean DeBlois, the filmmaker behind the original animated trilogy, back in the saddle as writer, director and producer. The feature project is already steps into the development process. Universal has dated the feature for a March 14, 2025 release. And sources also say the casting process is already underway. This new Dragon will adapt the trilogy of movies that were made by DreamWorks Animation and released in the 2010s to great acclaim. One of the creative challenges facing the filmmakers is trying to find the balance of making the dragons appealing and friendly, like some were in the original movie, and realistic.

It's interesting to note DeBlois's comments on live actions over the years. For instance, from February of 2019:

There have been a few directors who are known for animation moving across into live action recently, like Brad Bird and Travis Knight. Is that something you’d want to do? It definitely is. I’ve wanted to add live action to the toolbox for a long time. Between Lilo & Stitch [DeBlois co-wrote and directed that film with Sanders] and How to Train Your Dragon, I spent about seven years setting up live-action projects to write and direct. And each one kind of hit the rocks. But it has kind of left this open ambition to try it again. I don’t know if it’s the next project that I’ll do – I haven’t actually made any decisions about what’s next. But I do hope that there’s an opportunity in the future to do something in live action that that appeals to my sensibilities and where I could apply the skills I’ve developed in animation.

But yet he also said:

There has also been a recent trend of remaking classic animated movies into live-action films – even Lilo & Stitch has been mooted for the remake treatment. What’s your take on that? I find it off-putting, to be honest. In one sense, I think it’s easy because all of the hard work of finding the story and honing it has been done – so now you get to take a movie that’s been a success and just make it in a different medium. 3: What’s a fic idea that you have but haven’t written yet?

I have a FFXIV au where G'raha Tia is the Warrior of Light somehow, and admittedly I'm not sure how well that'd work considering -gestures at Shadowbringers and Crystal Exarch- but it would be SO FUN I can just tell

8: What kind of document do you use to you write? Microsoft Word? Google Docs? Straight in the AO3 text box?

Okay so this one I've mentioned a few times in tags and such, but I don't actually use a proper word processor to write in! The program I use is Obsidian.md, which is a note-taking app, and it's been super helpful. Being able to have various different documents open at once makes referencing things easier, and the variety of themes available means I get to pick and choose which theme to use (I'm using the Shiba theme, incidentally, but I might change it to a different one so long as the new one has custom background options available. We'll see on that one). The only downside is that since it's on my local drive (or whatever drive you store your files on, mine is on my USB), it can only be used on my laptop since I've not downloaded the Obsidian app and I'm not willing to pay to be able to sync files, ahaha. But the free version has pretty much everything but sync and publishing of sites available, so you can use it for note-taking or writing or such very easily.

In conclusion, try Obsidian out today.

Oh this is a question. Being honest, I'm not entirely sure if it's my favorite, but I do really like this one scene from Taking Notes and Munching Pastries --

"Well, most people in class are cowards," you declare, "who might deserve a good pounding now and then to know how good they’ve got it for not having to fight all the time." Niko snorts. "Don’t let them hear you say that," he warns, though his lips curl into a smile at the end and his eyes are doing a horrible job of hiding amusement, "they might take offense and try to hit you." "Let ‘em!" you declare, leaning forwards again and then beginning to climb onto the top of your chair to stand on it. "They’re all too weak to throw a good punch or kick, and I can beat ‘em all any day!" "Rina!" Niko hisses at you, and lunges at you to keep you from climbing on top of the chair entirely. "Remember what I said about not climbing furniture in public places? We already got kicked out of the cafe closer to your apartment, we don’t need to get kicked out of here too." "Fine." You huff, and sit back down into your chair ‘properly’, though you lift one leg onto the arm of the chair so that a foot is hanging off of the side. "But still!"

It was written all the way back in 2020 and is one of my first fics, and was definitely one of the first I wrote in second person POV, which is now my preferred POV to write in. I've a soft spot for it still, aha. It's been a while since I wrote anything Digimon-related -- I should go properly watch those Re:Digitize Decode playthroughs that are up on YouTube, now that the fantranslation has been out and such, so I can properly know the game's story and characters, as opposed to the word-of-mouth and scouring-the-wikis method I had to use back then.

I think my friend @aikotters was there when I finished the fic, ha -- funny to think we've been friends for so long (even if we've mostly moved into different fandoms, but hey, friendship outlasts fandoms if it's a good friendship, right?)

As much as I love diasomnia, I could see myself being in heartslabyul. the dia fam may be my favorite to explore, but riddle and his personal struggles hit way too close to home. i'm a very rules-bound and oriented person, and always strove to have high grades in my classes; also, i'm obsessed with tea so that's a no-brainer haha

What character(s) would you be best friends with? oh gosh, i wouldn't want to presume but i think i could get along very well with kalim. we have very similar ethnic backgrounds (middle eastern) and he's always such a happy and bubbly personality that i think would be fun to indulge in small doses lol

Characters you would hate? that's such a strong word ! i can say at least that currently in gameplay i dislike (don't come for me) leona. his method of interacting with his classmates and leading his dorm completely rubs me the wrong way and i would be very glad to not have him as my housewarden.

yOU WERE SO FAST- *ahem* anyway. 27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing? ahaha.. oh boy. My favorite part of writing isss probably like, trying to capture emotions of the characters in a fun way? I've always loved writing emotion and aspects of it, and I feel like that's my forté on occasion—so that'd probably be my favorite thing aside from writing atmosphere and scene descriptions. my least favorite thing is DEFINITELY dialogue. it's fun, and i have gotten better, but GOD. It is very difficult for me sometimes, which makes me have a love-hate relationship with it. 28. On average, how much writing do you get done in a day? Oh, this one is interesting! Umm.. depends. I don't totally go off of word count, since the main doc I work in (Golden Rings) is up to 108 pages currently and i do NOT wanna know the word count of that monster. But! I'd sayy.. by page number.. it kinda depends? If it's a good writing day, I can get up to like 8-9 pages, but if I'm struggling, maybe 2 or 3. 39. Share a snippet from a WIP OKAY. I don't know if it counts, but technically chapter nine is a WIP. because i don't currently have any other fic WIPS (mainly just incoherent ideas), so you're getting a snippet from chapter nine.
