I wonder if “call ruidus” was like, a legendary action, or something similar for Imogen. Idk how that works actually, but it wasn’t her action or her bonus action, she had used those already, she just did it at the end of her turn and matt described it happening at the back end of her attack action. Also when Laura read the ability she made a very “excited and in disbelief” kind of face.

My one and only TOTK crack AU is that when Zelda went to the past, she was pregnant, and Sonia and Rauru didn't have kids. Zelda gave birth in the past and left the child behind (not her choice). As the monarchs were dead, that kid was named Rauru and Sonia's successor, and started the royal line that in TOTK's present ends in Zelda
She's the mother, the daughter and the holy spirit. Amen🛐

Tuvok says that Vulcan children are very well behaved and have a lot of emotional control by the time they’re ~elementary school aged which makes sense but also makes me want to see what a Vulcan toddler or kindergartener acts like since they can’t be reasoned with as well (can’t really meditate) + are babies and also brimming with near irrepressible violence/emotions.
Vulcan toddler is just quietly accompanying their parent along on an errand. They stop and point to a toy of some sort and ask politely if they can have it. Their parent explains that they have enough toys at home. The toddler immediately throws the tantrum of the century. Just turns into an absolute wild animal in their rage. Other Vulcans are just like “aaa I remember when my children were that age” but any aliens around are like “oh my god is that thing OK??” I imagine even older Vulcan children would have issues with emotional control given that they’re also children! Though they’d of course know they needed to control themselves and behave...sometimes you just slip up. Vulcan children are playing together harmoniously. Then one breaks the established rules of the game. “I made contact with your arm. You are now the chaser.” “You did not make contact with my arm. I dodged your attempt.” “You dodged unsuccessfully. I made contact with your arm.” “I did not.” “You are cheating.” “I believe you are the one cheating.” And an adult has to rush over as one pounces on the other and they both begin screaming and clawing at each other’s eyes. The rest of the children are watching with interest or perhaps grabbing implements to assist their friend.  Little lapses in emotional control would probably be common until they reached like....highschool age. I can imagine an eleven year old Vulcan hearing they can’t sleepover a friend’s home and immediately shattering a vase before apologizing and cleaning it up.  It also seems like bullying would be very prevalent on Vulcan. Spock is canonically bullied frequently and it seems natural that Violent, Extreme Emotions in teenagers would lead to that kind of behavior which isn’t outwardly unacceptable (like crying, laughing, etc) but still satisfies an illogical desire towards cruelty and establishing dominance.  Vulcans schools probably have so many ‘Bullying Is Illogical’ seminars that do nothing and everyone makes fun of behind their teacher’s backs. Two Vulcan teenagers bullying each other, trying to see who has the more emotional reaction. If you cry or get mad you lose. Only babies cry and get mad...seems pretty illogical(cringe).  Vulcans seem to be very focused on respectability so I’m sure that as bloodthirsty teens there would be a lot of accusations and rules...if you hang out with X then Z,H and Y won’t talk to you. If you apologize too soon then they might accuse you of behaving too emotionally and gossip about you...if you don’t apologize at all they might accuse you of behaving too emotionally and gossip about you. It’s very stressful. Tuvok also said when he was a teenager in that one flashback that he was ready to fight over the girl he had a crush on (saying he’d “issue a challenge” or something) so I’m implementing that into my personal understanding of Vulcans...like adults do NOT want these kids to fight but amongst other teens they’re like:  “Seynar is my boyfriend.” “I disagree. He sat next to me during meditation three times this week.” “Only because I was absent.” “Then he is fickle and will be mine soon enough.” And then they challenge one another to a secret duel after school. Dueling to the death is very cool and grownup v_v (teens rarely die from such duels though bc either the other teen stops or someone told an adult). It makes sense to me that teenagers with violent urges would fight one another in a way that they consider acceptably adult. (mimicking the marriage ritual thing or even pon farr...romantic and cool.) Imagine being a teen Vulcan and your crush starts hinting that they have another person who might be interested in them....hmmm.....and you know you’re gonna have to duel for them or lose em. Such is life. Vulcan teens seem like they’d either date a lot (emotional whims) very non seriously (because they’re all betrothed) or date not at all because they’re gonna get married to their betrothed anyway. Loving someone other than your fated match is probably a pretty big trope in Vulcan romance stories...or maybe the opposite? Like someone bad tries to steal your heart but you remain resolute and return to your fated match as is logical. Anyway all this to say that I think Vulcan children and emotional control is something that’s fun to think about. Especially regarding how Vulcan children would act around adults vs other children. Vulcan child to adult: I will do my best to get along with my sibling. (2 seconds later once mother has left)  Vulcan child: You may play with the red toy. If you play with the blue toy I will harm you. Bodily. Meanwhile their older sibling is rolling their eyes like ugh....threatening violence is for babies....now to prepare for my logical and very adult duel for the love of my life whom I have known for three months. v_v
#vulcans#my writing#this is just stream of consciousness thoughts though#I just think Vulcan children should behave differently than adults...brains not done cooking yet and mastery of emotions is not complete#vulcan children being almost entirely self interested until a certain age#at which point they become very outward-facing...trying to please others around them and be liked/respected by their peers..trying to fit in#and then as adults they're able to strike a balance between knowing oneself and being respected by others#Vulcan teen frantically trying to decide if it's more logical to obey their parents wishes that they not go out to a party#or to go to the party which T'Yana said EVERYONE was going to be at....#since T'Pol says that Vulcans were (pre-reform) in factions I think that'd carry into their modern emotions...#is it more logical to be loyal to the familial 'faction' or the friendship one?#Meanwhile their baby sibling is screaming and banging their fists against the door because they WANNA! COME! IN! LET ! THEM! IN! (No.)#eeeeveryone thinks babysitting a Vulcan child will be SO easy until they threaten to rend your flesh from bone then set the house ablaze#because you wouldn't let them stay up five more minutes#star trek#I think Vulcans should be a little fucked up and wild but want that to NEVER EVER get out#I hope this makes sense v_v#how vulcan children act around peers vs adults vs alien adults etc should be different#hehe I also think as small children they'd just call anything they personally don't wanna do 'illogical' and their parents have to sigh and#teach them how to separate 'what is logical' from 'what I want to do'

Hiccup hijinks au thoughts:
Macaque can accidentally summon his kaiju shadow puppet, which is probably as destructive
Also a young Macaque trying to put on a shadow play but he can't keep control of his powers. Bonus points if Wukong was up there and that's what gave him his stage fright
IM SORRY BUT
THE IDEA THAT WUKONG JUST GOT LIKE. SUCH INTENSE SECOND HAND EMBARRASSMENT (+ FEAR) FROM MACAQUE WITH HICCUPS + OUT OF CONTROL POWERS ON STAGE THAT HE JUST. DEVELOPED STAGE FRIGHT. IS ACTUALLY RIDICULOUSLY FUNNY????
LIKE. NORMALLY I USE ONE OR TWO ANGSTY REASONS BEHIND WUKONG'S STAGEFRIGHT
BUT THIS???? THIS IS. HILARIOUSLY GENIUS.
I WANT THIS TO BE THE FANON CANON REASON AS TO WHY WUKONG HAS STAGEFRIGHT NOW FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING PLEASE

Realized that my daydreams about retrieving Solanum from the Quantum Moon play out shockingly (hell, poignantly even) close to some sort of reverse tale of Orpheus
#as in. turning around to check shes there spelling her death versus having to stay turned around to be sure shes there keeping her 'alive'#outer wilds spoilers#solanum outer wilds#AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA#also it'd still be either doomed or extremely difficult (even discounting the sun thing) because like#she'd be a quantum object for the rest of her semi-existence pretty much#even if you got her OFF of the moon she'd still exhibit quantum properties in the same way other things entwined with quantum phenoma do#especially her since like. she's also literally speaking dead. causally her being able to exist YEEEEEAAAAAAARS after her species went#locally extinct is just makes that more apparent (given nomai can't be super long-lived given. textual evidence pointing towards them#being able to lose knowledge across generations within comperable spans of time)#though her exiting the moon and being succesfully taken back to Hearth or wherever would also mean she'd.#like. maybe also 1/6th exist there????#though that'd only last as far as the whole loop thing. fuck that sun in particular#.....of course my little stories about whisking her outta there are mostly involved in grabbing as many hearthians as possible and going#As A Group to the eye sldhgkllhkdsghlksgdhlkgdhlgdsgsdhlk so the sun going kablooey aint a huge deal in that regard#(though the prospect of bringing not-accustomated-to-exploring hearthians to the eye is ghoulish enough in its own right to even consider.)#(maybe just stick to the main 5)#well#six#seven including us really.

ik botw is supposedly what merges the timeline but also isnt there only references to twilight princess i mean there is the ww armour but like. does that even count
i mean what would even be the logistics of the timelines merging anyways i mean w/ oot there was an ocarina and shit but botw didnt have anything and if it was just a common story every timeline had, then why did the other two timelines reference twilight princess? like the logic is not logicing unless there was another story about that but i mean we don't know that
ngl it'd make more sense to me if it was in the child timeline and that was it yk? (me when im 6 years late to making a post)

The whole "oh why don't people recognize Clark Kent as Superman" They ACT and CARRY themselves differently! That's the kind of thing good writers explore, because fun fact! People act differently in different enviornments! And that kinda thing is super interesting from a character perspective.
Also a related problem is writers who are not confident enough in their premise and have to constantly rejustify themselves in the narrative because they think someone's gonna cinemasins gotcha them with "hurr durr how come no one recognizes them. How come they don't tell anybody?" type shit and it's also always annoying but it's even more annoying when it would be possible to justify it once instead of constantly having to relitigate it

Alright who wants to hear my thought process on how old TriMax Wolfwood is (jk illusion of free choice, but I will put it under a cut because it's long and a lotta math<3)
So to start off, let me first say I updated the timeline I posted (it's the same post, but I swapped out the images and updated the notes. I said I wouldn't touch it again and yet I'm still thinking about it almost 48 hours later AND doing SAT -esque math about it /sob)
Let me also say: I'm so bad at guesstimating ages, not like manga in general makes ages easy to guess but also yeah I don't actually know what a 9 year old looks like off the top of my head so there's definitely some bias here.... BUT ANYWHO
We're gonna go off of these key events:
Wolfwood leaving the orphanage
Wolfwood taking care of and reuniting with Maylene
To start: we know that Wolfwood left the orphanage 6 years ago, he returns during the year of PE 0114. So he left in the year of PE 0108
When Wolfwood reunites with Maylene he's "older" so he's undergone all the drugs and experimentation etc etc so that means the timeframe in which he reunites with Maylene would have to fall between PE 0108 and PE 0114. I'd er on the side of 109 and 112, seeing as for 113/114 he's traveling with Vash or helping the Ark invasion, so unless he randomly fucked off for a spell during that time he probably didn't see Maylene then. Ruling out 108 for similar reasons since I'm sure he'd be too busy training with the EoM within the year to go see her.
So, establishing PE 0112 as the latest point in time they can reunite: Maylene looks anywhere between 12-16 years old. (at ABSOLUTE minimum I'd say 10, and ABSOLUTE maximum, 17. She seems about the same age as Lina, and Lina is confirmed 12 years old but "looks older". She's not older than 18 because that would put her birth year in 0094, which would make her only 4 years younger than Meryl, and Meryl was 18 when Wolfwood left the orphanage, which would mean Maylene was 14 and would put Wolfwood at like 19 minimum when he left. More on that later)
So establishing Maylene's age range, that would put her birth year anywhere from PE 0095- 0102 When Wolfwood first meets Maylene she's a baby, at most a year old. For the sake of the argument, we'll stick with her being younger than that (making the earliest they could have met 0095). Wolfwood can't be more than 5 at that point, as that'd put him at the same age as Meryl, which would make him 18 when he left the orphanage (which doesn't seem correct) Personally, I think Wolfwood looks between 6 at absolute minimum and 10 at max.
So using the above time frames and the year Wolfwood left the orphanage (0108):
0095 at 5 years old mean's he'd be 18
0102 at 5 years old means he'd be 11
0102 at 10 years old means he'd be 16
0095 at 10 not possible, next possible year would be 0100 which would make him 18 (which again seems far fetched)
So let's lay this out: (year met Maylene : age left orphanage) At 5 years old: 96: 17 | 97:16 | 98: 15 | 99:14 | 100: 13 | 101:12 | 102:11
At 6 years old: 97: 17 | 98:16 | 99: 15 | 100:14 | 101: 13 | 102:12
At 7 years old: 98: 17 | 99:16 | 100: 15 | 101:14 | 102: 13
At 8 years old: 99: 17 | 100:16 | 101: 15 | 102:14
At 9 years old: 99: 18 | 100:17 | 101: 16 | 102:15
At 10 years old: 100: 18 | 101:17 | 102: 16
This is where the bias sets in:
When Wolfwood leaves the orphanage he doesn't look any older than 14 to me or any younger than 11 ( I personally read him in the 12-13 range, he could also just be a very runty teenager, which would be hilarious, but yeah I don't think so.) I also don't think anybody younger than 6 should be taking care of a baby, So we're gonna rule out anything that places him outside of that range which leaves us with this:
At 6 years old: 100:14 | 101: 13 | 102:12
At 7 years old: 101:14 | 102: 13
At 8 years old: 102:14
Using the min and max years and ages compared to where in the timeline Wolfwood's last fight is (6 years later) that would place him in the age bracket of 18 at youngest and 20 at oldest (give or take a year if you wanna be picky about it). Which means when he first meets Vash he's only 16-18/////
(And if you're like me and don't like the idea of Maylene being any younger than 12, then that means 0100 is the year and that would make Wolfwood 20 years old but that may be overly biased and again I think he’s younger than 14 when he leaves the orphanage. I also still don't think maylene looks like a 12 year old. If we assume she was actually a year old when she met Wolfwood that’d make her 13 tho)
Anyways, I need to go lie down now

hang on i haven't been around in . jesus it's the end of february what the hell. a month at least lol. anyways very funny to me that juno will agonize over every single thing they post ever and will spend literally 10-30 minutes putting together their words and then reading them over and over to make sure they haven't said anything wrong in any way that they can possibly see, and then they'll continue to worry over smth they've said here for at least an hour afterwards unless they delete it in that time
and meanwhile i will put together something, do a quick read-over just to make sure i haven't said anything too nasty thats going to get me into trouble later, and fire it off. boom. done. not even worrying about it. if people wanna misconstrue what i said then that's on them and the block button is a feature that is quick, cheap, and easy!

u gots any characters that are like, yeah you admit they were just a full on self insert. not like, "oh this is this piece of me" like, full on "i wanted to take part in the narrative" self insert
okay so. my general attitude toward self-inserts in writing is like. have u seen that one post thats like "i dont do self inserts bc if IM there it breaks the immersion" I feel that in my soul
BUT - Annie RCUniverse is one of the very few characters I purposefully gave some of my own personality quirks to, just bc its fun to be like. Liv Unchained >:) like the way she speaks is definitely me if i was like 60% more unhinged and also kind of a dick lmao
