Im 👀 at your Mondstadt having an underground area and I just want to bring up this idea in a fanfic I read (Windwheel Aster: Adored by the wind) where Mondstadt has secret underground passageway between them and Liyue for emergency use. Now im combining those ideas in my head of underground passageways beneath Old Mondstadt. Like some sort of dark souls crypt for those who perished (since its Really Hard to do a burial in the snow). You know how the wind brings Mondstadter's souldls home? Yeah what if thats not just a Venti thing but also existed during the time of Decarabian. (I can tie this into Istaroth but thats a whole nother paragraph)

Crypts under Mondstadt...oh I love that idea it fits in mood-wise with the Actual Dead Guy under the statue, giving Mondstadt and ameno all the more ties to death and souls and imprisonment + yeah how do you deal with bodies when the ground is frozen hard and the city is micromanaged by the god. Why, if the bodies are getting in the way, why not remove them, help the souls pass on, and place the bodies neat and orderly filed away. Away from the people so they can focus on life instead of death, but each passed person can still be easily found in case they're needed. Besides, crypts are often under a church and Mondstadt is the nation most known for having a church....maybe not under Mondstadt's currentday church, but the people did use to 'bow' around the tall tower which houses a god....

But also........those Istaroth ties? 👀👀👀

Typing Tips That I Stumbled Upon Randomly:

The Ctrl key lets you jump between words really quickly. If you hold Ctrl and press the left or right arrow keys, instead of moving your cursor 1 character you'll move it a whole word; if you want to edit that word that's 3 words back, you can just hold Ctrl and left-left-left, and you're there.

Even more useful in my opinion, if you hold Ctrl and press Backspace you'll delete the entire word you're on. That's just really nifty because a lot of the time when you're deleting you want to delete the whole word, so this is much faster.

Also, idk how well-known this is but holding Shift and moving your cursor will make you highlight any characters you move over. That's useful on its own, but combining that with Ctrl lets you quickly highlight whole words or sentences, so you can easily copy+paste them. You can also hold Shift to edit any selections you made with your mouse or something.

Also it took me too long to realize that the Home and End keys are actually really nice sometimes. Home takes you to the start of the line you're on, and End takes you to the end. Hold Shift while doing that and you can highlight the whole line. Very nice for programming. Also holding Ctrl and pressing Home or End takes you to the top or bottom of the page, but I barely use that.

A similarly useful key that I also overlooked is the Delete key. It's like the Backspace key, but it deletes the character in front of your cursor instead of behind it. Just like with Backspace Ctrl+Delete lets you delete a whole word in front of your cursor.

Also Ctrl+A lets you highlight the whole page.

Also even when you're not typing and instead just browsing a web page or something, you still technically have a cursor; if you click a piece of text, then hold Shift and press the arrow keys, you'll start highlighting text.

Practice Exercise: Click on the t in this word, then hold Shift and press left and right on the arrow keys! Now try holding Ctrl+Shift while you press the arrow keys! Hold Shift and press Home or End! Hold Shift and use your mouse to left-click on different spots in the paragraph and see how your selection changes!

curious to hear what stuff mutuals learned as a kid and only later realized wasn't universally taught, but was just something one of your teachers was passionate about. like when i was twelve my social studies teacher did lessons throughout the year on world religions and the history that led to different schools of thought within them, and i spent the next twenty years continuously baffled by how much adults didn't know about what i thought were super basic doctrines and practices

fun way to combat power creep when a PC has reached the level where they should be able to just breeze through every roll--or at least every roll related to their specialties--for any obstacle that isn't increasingly overpowered to match: drop a couple of mines in there.

you still have to beat an 18, but now you also have a chance of failing automatically if you roll, say, an 8. you can raise or lower the difficulty of the roll by adding in more mines, and give players the opportunity to remove them if you want--keywords if you want; it leaves you the option to keep some rolls from being canceled out by PCs gathering up enough of the right abilities, and ending up right back where you started. but as long as you don't mind wanting to flip a table when your +5 bonus lands you directly on the losing number, it seems like a good way to keep some tension in the game without having to do major rehauls for just, like, the basics of how stats and leveling work in that system. it's a thought.

as i'm studying for my (second) board exam, i can't help but think of that one post on tumblr.edu with like 80000 notes saying 'doctors should have to take tests every few years to be allowed to practice!!!' and then a million people just, fully believing that doctors don't need any certifications to practice. the whole post is a fucking mess with comments like 'what! as a hairdresser/teacher/pharm tech/vet tech/nail tech we have to be certified but doctors don't?!?! that explains everything!!!'

babygirl. it takes 0.0000025 seconds to google something. are there truly people on this planet that think that doctors don't need to take regular exams and prove that we're doing a certain amount of hours of continuing medical education every year to maintain our licenses. i just. people are so desperate to believe whatever they want to believe when they dislike a certain profession huh
