hello!!! I’ve been loving your work for a liiiitle while now. I’m hoping you can do all the LADS guys of if mc/you being of latin descent (Mexican/ Honduran, Salvadoran, etc) who loves going to gathering with friends and families (like barbecues, quinceñeras, those type) and how they would react to being in such a place, meeting your large family, and reacting to you dancing/ trying to get them to dance with you (cumbia is my fav at any party lol) would). Would love to see what you come up with, much looove 🩷🩷🩷

Xavier seems uncomfortable at first with the amount of people but it's just because he's trying to figure out how everyone knows each other and how he can fit into conversations. He doesn't want to impose himself on anybody despite how welcoming they all seem.

You wouldn't have to work hard to get him onto the dance floor but he isn't exactly the most rhythmic so he's going to try his best but that doesn't exactly look amazing but everyone can appreciate that he's very clearly trying very hard.

He'll get used to it over time but he does get fatigued very easily from the amount of social interaction big family events of yours take. You just have to cuddle him up and give him a second to breathe when the two of you get home. He likes seeing everyone though and how happy you are around them so he'll never say no if you invite him to an outing.

Zayne is very good at small talk and keeping people chatting so being in a crowd like this isn't too awful, even if he's exhausted from going to work then straight to a party. He doesn't mind keeping you company and he's already met your parents. Getting along with the rest of your family doesn't seem like it'd be too difficult a task for him.

He doesn't show his fatigue until he gets home. He didn't grow up with a large family so it'll take him a while to get used to being around so many people who seem invested in him as a person, in addition to his work as a doctor. Any advice he gives as a doctor is one that he strongly urges people to double check because there are certainly some people who are hoping to ask him to look at this or that. He does give his honest opinions and if there's anything he can see himself working with he'll try to schedule them in, telling you it's no problem and he doesn't mind helping the people you love.

He can't make it to every event but the events he misses he insists you go buy something to gift your family as an apology. He would hate for any of them to think that he's missing the event on purpose and will offer his apologies in person the next time he sees them all.

Rafayel fits right in. I've mentioned before that I think he grew up in a communal parenting/child rearing environment so being surrounded by tons of family is perfectly normal for him. He's going to go into this event with a more positive outlook than normal because he wants to get along with your family.

You were a little worried that he'd come off as rude or uptight because of how he tends to be at his own shows if he doesn't want to be there but thankfully he treats them as though he's known them for a while. You can tell his social battery is draining though but he has fun getting to know people and playing with the younger members of your family.

He definitely was exhausted when he got home but he also looked a little nostalgic. There's something in the look in his eyes that makes you a little sad. He'll appear at other events in the future but he doesn't always stay the entire time just depending on his schedule. If he misses it for whatever reason he'll tell you to apologise on his behalf and usually tries to at least pick you up so he can make an appearance and say hello.

You knew John Price for ages.

He's been a great friend of your older brother and he often visited your family when you all were younger. He's like family to you, another brother who cares if you're okay and if he has to kick some boyfriend's ass.

And you never stopped to love John Price, even when your brother died under the bullets to save him.

His guilt, though, was too much to handle and, with time, he slowly stepped outside your life.

It's two years now you haven't seen him, not a call, not even a text but he knows you're still the bartender of his favorite pub.

You're busy cleaning the counter when the door opens.

“Sorry, we're close!” You raise your voice before turning around to see who's there.

Your eyes open wide, and your lungs hold your breath. “John…” You whisper.

“Hello, Bunny.” He greets, taking off his hat and making a shy smile.

Bunny.

For seven years you haven’t heard that nickname, since your brother died. And now your eyes can't hold nostalgic tears and happiness to see him again.

You don't hesitate in the hug you give to him, and he returns with the same warmth. You still wear the same perfume he remembered.

“Ah shit.” You say, wiping your tears away. “You look great. Come, have a seat.”

You run around the counter, pouring his favorite scotch into two glasses while he approaches slowly, putting his hat on the wooden surface, and sitting on a stool.

You raise your glass making a toast. “To the friends reunited.”

He clinks his glass against yours before taking a sip.

You stare at each other in silence for long moments, enduring the memories that fill your minds.

A smirk appears over your face, then. “You got some grey hair.”

“And you're a vision, as always.” He says lowering his glance at his glass.

The confidence with which he says it makes you shiver but you deliberately ignore it since you think it's inappropriate.

You clear your throat. “Well, how are things?”

He takes another sip. “Things are going well…” He nods, cleaning his mustache with the knuckle of the index. “I'm currently on my break so, I thought I’d come to visit you.”

“I'm glad…” You make a polite smile but you can't even look at him and he knows why.

How could he blame you?

“I'm sorry if I didn't show up in the last two years.”

You wet your lips, finishing your scotch in one sip and moving to wash the glass.

He gets brave finishing his drink. “I missed you.”

“Oh yeah?” You ask a bit upset.

He gets up, walking slowly around the counter to reach you. “Yeah.” He says with a low voice and put his empty glass in the sink right in front of you. His eyes don't leave you even for a moment, you can feel his closeness and his silently begging for your attention.

He shuts off the water, touching gently your face to invite you to look up at him. There’s no need to talk since you both already know where this is going. He bends over, and without any rush your lips join in a sweet kiss. Of course he tastes of cigar and scotch, you expect nothing less from him.

You can't help but surrender.

His hand slips on your back to gently push you against him as your hands wrap his nape, increasing the intensity of the making out.

When you break the kiss to catch some air, his eyes are worshiping you.

“How long have you wanted to do this?” You say in a whisper.

“Longer than I want to admit.”

Well, let's see...

Remus/Remus: I love how unsettling he is and how he's not afraid to be himself and do fuck-all. I relate a lot to being a weird, creepy sibling people are hesitant to be around, so Remus is a big comfort character. Also, I love how he's also Creativity and has lots of his own ideas, no matter how dark they may be. And his humour sends me every time (lmao). And of course, the weird facts he knows is very relatable. And the fact he just wants to be listened to and acknowledged. And all the unhinged chaos from him. And the drama and him just being a freakin' goober.

Logan/Logan: Him being a giant nerd and one of the more-mature Sides in the group is a bit relatable. I love seeing him being enthusiastic about Crofter's and making puns and when he gets to indulge in things he really likes. Him being very intelligent but also struggling with emotions and such. How bad he just wants to be taken seriously and listened and such. How he keeps getting pushed around and ignored, and when as soon as he lashes out because he's hurting, the Others blame him for it. I love how he apologizes for lashing out, though it's always his right to. I relate a lot to how he represses the "icky emotions" or refrains himself because he thinks he can't be emotional if he's to be taken seriously.

Roman/Roman: how passionate he is about things he loves, like acting and Disney and his creative merits. How he keeps getting used and manipulated and he's just so confused because he needs clear structure as the Ego, but everything is just jumbled and he's not sure what's right to do anymore. All of the angst with this poor guy is just relatable. How happy he gets when Logan asked him for his creative help!! That was a vulnerable and wholesome moment. How creative he gets and how he shows he knows his fellow Sides and friends through his gifts (him getting Janus socks for warmth and writing an entire story/fanfic/play about Sherlock for Logan). He's just so thoughtful and caring. He shows he loves them through playful teasing and jokes and banter!! And he's growing and learning and apologizing when he screws up. Like, him and Virgil getting closer and becoming besties. How insecure he is because he's terrified of failure and being imperfect and especially of rejection.

Virgil/Virgil: he's been a fav of mine since middle school, which was around the time the series was first starting and soon we met him as Anxiety (way back in 2016). I've related to him especially as someone who was a bit emo and also struggles A Lot with anxiety and an anxiety disorder(s). His fashion sense with his purple jacket/hoodie is my fav thing, btw. He was a big part of my comfort growing up. Kind of a nostalgic comfort. I love how he has spiders all over his room because I relate to loving spiders and not being scared of them. I love his sarcasm and humour and his counterpoints. I love his debate episode with Logan. This snarky spiderling was a big reason why I'm still alive, believe or not, and so he's an important character to me. Just a big Fav to me.

Janus/Janus: This sarcastic, villain-aesthetic serpent is important to me because of the fact that he's both Deceit AND Self-Perseveration. It's so damn relatable because I was the kid who knew how to lie so well that my lies were almost always regarded as truth. I had to lie and hide things to survive because I grew up as a queer Christian kid in a scary and unsupportive place. If I slipped up the slightest, there was absolute horror to pay. Also, the queer-coded villain aesthetic is one of my fav things. This man doesn't need to be that melodramatic but he is because that's what he likes to do. He's a petty lil drama king, and I love that about him. Also his [implied?] angst of having this fear of vulnerability and getting hurt again is... it's very important to me.

Patton/Patton: I relate to him the least, but oh boy do I have things to SAY. Him a total dad and making so much puns is funny to me. It's very relatable to be the kind of person so take care [or try to] of everyone else but forget about myself. Him loving cats but being allergic is comical, lmao. Him trying to repress and hide his "icky emotions" and just showing the happy positive ones is something that's a bit too relatable. As someone who's struggled with smiling depression, it can get to the point where people don't believe you when you finally show a hint of not being okay. And so you just go back to faking it, and then get ignored again whilst taking care of everyone else. But yeah, he's a pretty good character and almost reminds me of some family of mine.

c!Thomas/c!Thomas: one thing I will never get over about this character is the fact that he's a struggling artist and creator that is going through A Lot and still healing and discovering things about himself. That's some of the most relatable shit. He's so human and shows the healing process as a bumpy road which is TRUE to reality and I love it. His Sides and him are learning together, and that's just beautiful. Maybe not my most fav, but still pretty high up there on the Brainrot chart.

As you can see, I have things to say about ALL of them. All of the main seven, anyway. I'm sure I'll have lots to say once we meet and see Orange.

Class 1A Boys + music they listen to (PART 2)

There's always that ONE person who is like a parent when it comes to his whole class and music making sure it's "school appropriate" and that would be no other than the class rep, Iida.

Has a playlist for literally his life routine lol (study, relaxing, outings, running in the rain in his retro raincoat 😂,etc.). I feel like he would listen to like 90's music, classic rock (his fav artist is Foo Fighters for sure) he doesn't mind playing his stuff every now and then but he's busy most of the time preparing for class. nerd lol.

May sound shocking but he likes SOME rap but it's all old school rap/hip-hop like Biggie, Ice T, Usher, MC Hammer but he only listens to it outside of U.A though because he doesn't want "taint his image of class rep". He tried trying new school rap and..let's say he'll just stay where he is (he almost got hurt BUT that's for another story!)

The only classmate that is so chill with almost every genre of music is Sero. Even songs in different languages and more exotic genres like nudisco, jazzfunk, and french house (which are his favorites, cause it's a rarity he cherishes). He would play japanese funk while he drives down the road JUST for the ✨aesthetic✨ (future au idea). Dua Lipa, Kali Uchis, Doja Cat, Rosalia, JIAFEI just any other artist that sings in another language other than english he'll know. And he sings it so well but has no idea what a lick of it means well except for japanese.

Is not scared of talking about it to any of his classmates and actually persuading them to give it a try or if he plays it on his bluetooth speaker before class starts and then one of his classmates asks him the next day for ex: Tokoyami asks him "Hey Sero, what was that techo like song were you playing yesterday, for some reason it's in my head." and then the tape boi will go through his recently played songs from yesterday (he's a yt music kinda guy tbh). Then basically almost everybody is interested in what he has in store next

In other words he's the one who always brings his speaker to class but is respectful and plays it before class even starts, he's an early bird.

Denki, is the twin of Sero cool with any kind of music but leans more into the weebcore/rap category. He most likely will play weeb music in his dorm room, the usual anime openings and ending theme songs with a dorky smile on his face humming along while reading manga.

Is the aux cord GOD, will never disappoint the Bakusquad with any music he plays in the car he'll play some Marshmello and everyone would get littt🔥🔥🔥 or some nostalgic jpop to sing awfully off tune to to piss off Bakugo ofc.

Fun Fact: The whole Bakusquad got kicked out of his car at least five times singing terribly lmaooooo

If I'm reading the reason behind this ask correctly, I think it's just a matter of individual perspective.

Just like you have your own reasons to love levihan and any other ships from other media, other people have their own. Things for them may change, but you don't have to take it personally - it's one's voice, and not YOUR voice, and much less a universally shared opinion.

So imo, if you truly love (or hate) something, I don't think it's necessary to stand by an idea that you dislike/don't agree just because someone else shared their own thoughts on the matter.

They are not only my fav and second longest ship ever, but my OTP!

Hmmm good question Anon, lol. 

Personally, I really like season three for some reason??? Might not be my ‘favourite’ overall but there’s something lighthearted and nostalgic about them. Totally reminds me of reading tweenage magazines and having a crush, or something lol. Like, season three Mileven is just so fun! They’re clingy and naïve about the real love they have towards each other. Both Mike and El are probably their funniest too. 

Objectively? Season one (and four). Three is probably the weakest in terms of actual character development. Season one establishes their bond and concludes an individual arc. But, obviously if you’re reading this you’ve seen the whole show, so I’d say season four comes closest as it really touches upon everything season one established but in a more maturely developed way. Both are good! 

Looking forward to season five and how their arcs conclude. Thanks for the question :)

Honestly, this band sits in a weird place where some of their songs aren't the kind of thing that appeals to me, while others are ones I really enjoy!! I'm definitely gonna keep listening to them though ^^ 💖 Fast Times at Barrington High had the most songs I consistently enjoyed, but while I wasn't sure how to feel about one of the songs from Santi, it had some of their coolest songs, so I'm not really sure yet which one I like best :P Anyway thank you so so much for these recommendations!!!!! hey hey! idk if this is where I submit for the match up! but I would love to see who you think I'd fit in with! I'm a creative soul who tends to try to develop deep friendships with people above everything. I have a bit of a savior complex as well lol I work hard and play harder, trying to find new adventures to go on with those i care about. I tend to support others before supporting myself, and while im happy to let others open up to me its hard for me to open up in return. the best way i can feel close to someone is deep conversations and being creative with them!

My current fav song has been Maybe IDK by John Bellion, specifically the lyric "i guess if i knew tomorrow i guess i wouldnt need faith"  just the idea of living today to the best you can just because you don't know what will happen tomorrow. the worries of the future should keep you down today

My current fav Redacted audio has to be the Helping your Werewolf bf shift again. Specifically the acting is just so good to me. Erik did an amazing job of portraying Milo's anguish and pain at not being able to shift. Plus the relieved sobs at the end is so satisfying and emotional. 

The one boy i cant get the hype around is Ivan. like sure the yandere thing is somewhat attractive to some, but i just don't like the idea of an actual psychopath being obsessed with me.

my favorite movie is definitely the Secret Life of Walter Mitty by Ben Stiller. its less of a quotable movie and more of i remember every scene very distinctly. its a movie that envelops my own escapism. its beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and a wholesome story on a rainy day.

my platonic redacted crush has to be Damien. he seems like a blast to interact with and tease. he's a hard worker and is tied close to his goals which i can admire. i would love to body double with him if i had some tasks to get done

space is also 100% my ramble subject when im sleepy, that and greek mythology

My guilty pleasure media is currently the animated shows Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Lego Monkie Kid. despite being kids shows, both of these are beautifully animated and shockingly well written!

Hmm, lots of good tidbits of information to consider. You strike me as really thoughtful, really caring, and I think Lasko could really benefit from a partner like that.

A savior complex, from what I understand, is just wanting to help people and make their lives better, and Lasko’s a guidance counselor, so y’all would have that in common. What’s good about pairing two people like that is y’all could keep each other in line, so to speak. Something that’s important when you’re always looking out for other people is to make sure someone is always looking out for you and vice versa. You and Lasko together would always make sure you’re taking care of others, each other, and yourselves.

Another reason I like the two of you together is that you like being creative with one another as a bonding activity. You know what’s the ultimate way to be creative together? Tabletop role playing games! If you don’t already play, Lasko would be so excited to help you with a character sheet, to help you craft a backstory, paint some mini figurines, go out and buy the perfect game dice and notebooks- the greatest combination of nerdy and cute in a couple.

One, the whole vibe of “you slow me down, I’ll look after you, we’re here for each other” vibes are exactly what I’m picturing for y’all. Also, Lasko and I are around the same age, and I heard this song a lot growing up. I have some weird, like, emotional resonance with it from childhood, and I think Lasko does too. Like, it makes him nostalgic and longing; maybe he always wanted someone to look after and to look after him, and now he’s finally found that in you.

Runner-Ups:

A very reasonable runner-up for you would be Camelopardalis because he would do a great job making sure you balance work and your personal life and that you don’t put others before yourself too much. A more fun runner-up would be Guy because I love sticking that beautiful Creative Writing major with other beautiful, creative people!

And Wriothesley from Genshin Impact. I'm still processing that, lol. Other one I'll always recognize bc of Magi is Kaji Yuki (Alibaba). Funnily enough, he voices one of my fav Pokemon character - Clemont. Imagine my surprise. Man, maybe I do have a type.

My thoughts on the new upcoming movie "Migration"

It feels wrong to get so hyped up over a movie before it comes out, but I'm literally obsessed with to find more info on this new movie "Migration" from Illumination. After they made that new Super Mario movie and did well, but Disney failed with StrangeWorld and the live action Little Mermaid, I'm glad smaller companies like Illumination and DreamWorks are becoming more popular. According to my bestie, who's a huge Illumination fan, Illumination made more than Disney! Honestly, I'm glad! The smaller companies need a chance to shine now, and Disney is overrated. Yet, I'm afraid to get too hyped over a movie I haven't seen yet because I was excited to see Wolfwalkers, until I watched it and got offended. Same with Zootopia when it came out, hated that too. I really hope Migration turns out to be everything I want it to be!

The main reason why I think Migration looks so amazing, I see ducks and that's a huge plus for me, since ducks are my favorite bird. Also, the setting makes me feel nostalgic in a way. It looks like Duck Duck Goose, a little bit, but it looks like it takes place in the U.S and I grew up in the north eastern part of the U.S. Duck Duck Goose had a different setting, but still looked incredibly beautiful. I'm honestly a huge fan of Duck Duck Goose and I'm glad to see a movie with similar designs and that focuses on the animals, barely showing humans. However, I'm glad that it doesn't feel like a rip off of Duck Duck Goose, because it has a completely different story. Migration is apparently about a family of ducks trying to migrate somewhere warm while avoiding predators, while Duck Duck Goose has a story about a carefree goose adopting two ducklings and learning to become more mature. I think I'm still going to have a special place in my heart for Duck Duck Goose, but Migration looks like it's right up my alley!

Trolls 3 also excites me as well, I'll talk more about that next time I make a post like this. I also keep my word when I say that Disney's overrated. For a while I was like "Oh I'm starting to like Disney" after seeing Encanto and Luca, but that didn't last very long because they went back to making pointless stuff. They're crapping one live action remake after another, of stuff that's not even old enough to be remade, but honestly Elemental and Wish don't look that good either. (Wish looks fine, but the animation is throwing me off). Elemental looks as bad as Strangeworld tbh. Us DreamWorks fans, tho... we're swimming in it! Chicken Run 2, Trolls 3, and Kung Fu Panda 4!? That's the best news ever, because those are my favorite DreamWorks movies (Chicken Run, Trolls, Croods 2 New Age, Kung Fu Panda, and Home are my favs)

so like....we're all in agreement that Mayuri is a "just like what you're fighting" type character, right? Like I get loving him for being twisted and honestly open and obvious about it (unlike other villain characters and in particular some of the Quincy)... like on the one hand as a PERSON, I'm like "love to hate this character, kinda badass in a sick way". but yeah like. He's just as bad as the Quincy and I think it puts a lot of his actions in this arc into perspective in a really interesting way

Heya Baba! Thank you for the ask, hmm going to go into the Scary part first since I have my playlist on-- ----- Scary- what’s your favorite song? Top 3 favs at the moment: Sherlock Holmes Theme (from The Great Ace Attorney) fav character in the game and the theme fits his vibe so well, he is so silly and interesting. This is fun to whistle along too Run by OneRepublic, I've liked the band for a pretty long time so gives me a nostalgic vibe. I think the music video is pretty amusing too!

Pity Party by Melanie Martinez, always daydream of character music videos when I listen to this...lately I think of Nicky and him telling his son "this was my fav arm, you don't see me crying about it" and my inner thought in return "but maybe you should let yourself cry about that? Its okay to cry." Catchy angst songs get me every time x'D Alright, onto the second question!

Darryl - do you have a good relationship with your dad? Yes and no. So I mentioned in some tags once that I see a lot of myself and my mom in Glenn and Nick (being friends more than parent and child). For my dad, well coincidently--I see a lot of him in Darryl. Ya know that 'lets talk about this later (usually never)' quote but also 'a dad that doesn't know much about his kids interest but is trying to understand anyway. He's always been supportive of my art since I was kid and a part of me still cherishes that. As long as we don't talk about the hard stuff, its fine, peaceful, so that's my reason for the Yes. He's also not well-informed on LGBTQ+ but again is learning and supportive. (CW for verbal abuse mention) Now for the no, if Daryl is the good parts of my dad...the bad parts-- I see those in Willy. My dad has always been nicer to his coworkers/friends than to the family he came home to everyday. He was also a salesman hmm...that charisma. And when I was younger I didn't mind that much. I noticed but the difference wasn't that harsh at first. He just smiled and laughed a lot more with one group versus the other, still lavished his kids with gifts as a form of affection, tried his best to make us laugh. But as my sister and I grew up, the difference in behavior was getting more obvious. His annoyance and anger were showing more often than not. He was never physically abusive but was verbally. There were other factors involved such as work issues, health issues, and his own issues with his parents. His parents/siblings basically treated him (the youngest) like an outcast so he wasn't allowed to be close to them emotionally and had to be pretty independent. Generational trauma...looking at dndads as a podcast I adore but also "wow, I'm in this picture and I don't like it" Flashback to him being a parent and husband and well...he blamed us for all the stress he was under--be that from work stuff or body pain (from major health issues which eventually lead to him having a leg prosthetic). Unlike Willy he'd feel guilty and genuinely apologize but the pattern would just repeat so stuff felt hollow after awhile. He's been getting care for his health and behavioral issues these days (and is retired). Has been making an effort to mend his rocky relationships with us but also isn't forcing the conversations. Still frustrating days sometimes. Has said things that no apology will ever be enough for but I appreciate that he's trying. I didn't mention my sister in detail here but truly she is the Lark to my Sparrow, intense hatred of father figures included. My sister's two years younger than me but we are often mistaken as twins as well haha. Doesn't help that we both have the same first letter in our names too. We were able to trick our classmates and teachers a few times which was funny. She lives in another state for college right now but we're still pretty close! Want to say that I am 100% okay with sharing this (and feel free to reblog if you want to). Nonetheless, hope it wasn't too much of a bummer to read! :]

HAIKYUU!! yeah i love that anime (bokuto was one of my first anime crushes) and those episodes are so nostalgic to me ૮꒰˶ᵕ ༝ᵕ˶꒱ა (i'm actually remembering that scene where the principal's wig flew off and istg i laughed so hard. people were staring at me but idc)

I was in the middle of watching season 4 and I never got to finish it (i was actually looking forward to the miya twins) but yeah hq boys are so precious ଘ꒰੭˶• ༝ •˶꒱੭

TOKYO REVENGERS!! I liked the anime; since the eps are still in the making, I decided to read the manga and the last thing I remember is the fight between Terano south and Brahman? (if that's the name of the gang) i actually wrote for sanzu and hanma (hanma was probably the most likes i've gotten in the entirety of writing but eh whatevs) as well as the tokrev boys hcs. My fav character has to be Shiba Hakkai (he's baby and sweet. pun intended if you know the manga), Mitsuya (that man is a blessing. srsly.) and i really like the bonten symbols there have been days where i wanna get that tattooed but nvm. Lowkey though I am impressed with Kisaki Tetta. Like that man is so smart. *speechless*

One thing i will never understand in the ST fandom is those old fans that have nothing better to do than to hate on new Trek...

I get it, old Trek is nostalgic and cozy and for fucks sake my fav is still TOS for exactly the same reason STILL i will always get excited if some new Trek comes out. It might not be the best thing ever but it is still something new in the Trek univers. But some people out there just see new Trek and instantly snap to "BuT tHiS iSn'T TrEk".

They grew up with Trek but so did I. Heck when I was a baby my dad made it a habit to watch TNG (his fav) every night with me and even made an episode ranking based on which one i fell asleep to the fastest . He eventually brought me to fanclub meetings and I listened and made 'very insightful' commentary to their discussions. TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT was my childhood Just as TOS was theirs.

And yhea THIS might not be such a huge problem on Tumblr (form what i have seen over the years on and off lurking) however most of my fandom experiance for ST is not here on Tumblr it's with those very people who practically raised me and their weird little pockets they have carved out even before I was was born. And while my dad's fanclub is luckily not one of those, other branches are just a complete sass pool and it kinda breaks my heart everytime their discussions bleed over to us. It's just people pretending as if old Trek was perfect (which no and the constant 'it only gets good with season x' proofs that they are aware of that) and just not giving new Trek a chance.

And this is a long standing problem too. Back when ST09 came out I was super excited and couldn't wait to talk about it at a regional fan meetup my Dad took me to only to have older fans sneer at me (a fucking 13 yo) for anticipating it. Seriously grown ass adults just bitching about a teenager for looking forward to something ... It even got worse with DIS and PIC. Even tho I have to admit those discourses where good indicators for weeding out some bad apples, you know those you just have to ask yourself why they liked Trek in the first place.

SNW isn't officially out yet where i am at (we are just always behind pffff) but it's soon schedule to be available for (legally) streaming it. And more reliable than the deutsche Bahn ever could older fans started bitching about it like there is no tomorrow. It just ruins the mood honestly. And the worst part is even fans my age start to chime in. They will make incredible fanprojects and have surprisingly deep conversations but can't fucking accept that ST will go on and evolve with time?!

Srly new generations will learn about Trek and will get into Trek bc of the new material is coming out. Just take PRO! It got my oldest nephew interested in Trek. Or LDX which got my gf to finally give the other Trek series a go (or maybe she just really got annoyed with me constantly sending Trek memes to her who knows) . But now those old fans who build a whole infrastructure around Trek are gatekeeping the hell out of it for nothing and then have the gull to complain about the lack of new fans in their circle.

It's just such a shame honestly. I really like the oldtimy feel they have going with their email lists (and absolute inability to use discord correctly), fan meet ups in shady bars and run down gymnasiums, the constant stream of page long essays analyzing electronics and programming somehow based around the shows and their complete adoration for ship models. It's quirky and weird and fascinating and a part of why I love Trek.

They want new fans to experiance Trek and some of the culture based around it but also drive them away for liking the 'wrong' Trek. In all honesty It just baffles me completely. It's not as if they have to love new Trek, heck you can have legitimate criticism of something in the franchise you love but for the love of the warp drive that doesn't mean it takes away from the things you do like or makes people who like the things you don't your enemy.

And then again hating on the new shows coming out is also kinda part of the Trek culture I mean have you heard about some of the complaining that was going on when TNG came out? Ehhhh it's currently 6 am and i just had to vent sooooooo sry abt that.

6. Your best experience going to the movies

Most of my best movie theater experiences are when I'm in either a small or nearly empty theater, since less people coughing and chewing means less sensory overload

However, my all-time favorite experience was actually when me and my cousins saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens on opening night. I had taken some pretty strong hits of pot before we got to the theater, and that literal high paired nicely with the overwhelming optimism and joy of the rest of the theatergoers that night (even the 3D didn't give me any headaches and was actually pretty damn cool! I still haven't rewatched TFA since that night because the film I saw in that state simply couldn't be topped

7. A guilty pleasure

The Super Mario Bros Movie from 1993. The only reason I feel "guilty" for loving this film isn't the quality of the art itself, but moreso for the fact that for some bizarre reason most Nintendo fans call this a bad film, even though it's clearly a masterpiece.

(Honestly I'm not joking in that I love this film easily one of my all-time favs I can watch it any day of the week)

14. VHS, DVD, or Blu-Ray?

I still have yet to own a blu-ray player lol

But for vhs and dvd there are a lot of subtleties to both that I love. The vhs is my preferred way of experiencing vintage television programs and horror films; largely because the fuzziness of the tape tends to bring out a nostalgic feeling for old tv shows/commercials while for older horror films often blurs the scenery and effects of the movie which makes it feel uncanny and scarier for me. On the other hand, I prefer dvds when watching theatrical films. Not just for the high quality, but also for the special features on the discs!
