An EXTREMELY profound misunderstanding of the Gospel. In case you don’t know, this is in reference to Bishop Budde (Episcopal) who pleaded with the president to be merciful to immigrants and other oppressed people. Afterwards, a congressman from Georgia, who called himself a “true Christian”, said she should be deported. And everything she said was directly from the Bible!

A message from the founder of Christianity Without The Insanity: Hello my friends. I started this page/group/blog/ministry in 2013 in direct response to the words and actions of “Christian Right" personalities such as Ted Cruz, James Dobson, and others. But also in response to other progressive Christian pages and groups who, I'm sure with their hearts in the right place, seemed to spend more time asking for donations and attacking other progressive Christians than actually encouraging people and focusing on the errors of the Christian Right. I never really expected this to become a “thing". I thought maybe I'd have a few dozen followers, including my mom who I had to ask to follow. And while I've tried a few different things over the years, the core mission is the same, to take a stand against the Christian right and stand UP for those the church tries to marginalize, discriminate against, and leverage political power and propaganda to hurt and destroy. As we approach 25,000 followers, we see that our message is more important than ever. The US has a president literally making executive orders trying to define what “people" are, literally trying to single-handedly rewrite the Constitution. We have the world's richest man influencing not only US government policy, but buying his way into other governments to influence their leaders and people - while showing his true colors with a certain palm-down salute. We're not going anywhere. If anything, we’re going to crank things up. META is cracking down on sharing links to other platforms, so lets just say you can find us where “skies are blue" as @christianitywithouttheinsanity.org. You can also go to that url, we'll be posting more things there too. We thank each and every one of you for your support. You mean the world to us. Your comments, likes, and shares are the language of love on the Internet and you have shown us a lot of love. We hope you'll stay with us as we continue to fight the good fight, share the good news, and love as Jesus loved.

Episcopal Bishop, Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde, speaking at a service at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC which Trump was attending, had this to say to him: “Let me make one final plea, Mr. President. Millions have put their trust in you, and as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God. In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives. The people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals, they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, gurdwara, and temples. I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear their parents will be taken away, and that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here. Our God teaches us that we are to be merciful to the stranger, for we were all once strangers in this land. May God grant us the strength and courage to honor the dignity of every human being, to speak the truth to one another in love, and walk humbly with each other and our God, for the good of all people, the good of all people in this nation and the world. Amen.”

A saying that originated with John Knox, was used by Thomas Jefferson, and then taken up by suffragists (as pictured). STILL TRUE TODAY.

It’s not a requirement to place one’s hand on the Bible when taking the oath of office, but wouldn’t a “good Christian man” do so? Can you imagine the outcry if Obama or Biden hadn’t done so? The hypocrisy of MAGA Christians knows no bounds.

“Biblical marriage” includes selling your daughter for several goats and a camel, one man with multiple wives and even more concubines, and widows being forced to marry their husband’s brother. Among other things. Just sayin.

I think we all agree there needs to be a change to the US's two party system, and the current third parties we have are a joke at best and corrupt at worst. A real option is going to have to win some state and congressional sets before aiming for the white house. We need to start now.

I think Jesus will have a lot to say to those who voted for a man promising mass deportations.

This is the Christian response to someone coming out - to encourage them to live their authentic life, just as God created them!
