ACTUALLY... 🤓 after the controversial monaco Grand Prix 2014 qualifying, where lewis believed nico crashed during quali on purpose so he'd secure pole and win the race, and nico claimed he didn't, he'd lost control last second and the stewards didn't claim foul play -- lewis went to the press and said "we're not friends, we're colleagues."

the weekend after, in Canada 2014, they had this infamous interaction where Lewis puts his hand on Nico's shoulder to show they're buddy buddy and nothing's wrong, and Nico just side eyes his arm off

No, never. I was never interested in boys, never into romance stories, always assumed I would just be alone my whole life. For a while in my early teens assumed I was asexual, since what I saw advertised everywhere was of no interest to me. In the 70s and 80s there wasn’t a lot of gay rep in the media, and if there was it was adult men. It took me forever to realize that being a lesbian was a possibility and by that time I was elated to finally figure it all out.

In one way I’m glad that young women these days can be aware of themselves from an early age, and have positive emotional and relationship role models. Though the flip side of that is the ‘everyone is queer!’ quiltbag the kids are all in these days. I think that can be a lot of pressure for everyone, but maybe even more for baby dykes (and fags) who really are just same-sex attracted, to question that and feel pressured to be ‘inclusive’.

I wish people would just be honest about their misogynoir and racism when it comes to the 'sapphic renaissance' of music.

Plenty of Black sapphic artists, lesbian AND bisexual, have performed well commercially: The Age of Pleasure by Janelle Monae, Fountain Baby by Amaarae, Fin by Syd, Tracy Chapman's self titled and Herstory in the Making BY Young MA have ALL charted on the US Billboard Hot 200 and reached critical acclaim as sapphic music projects. Lastly, is this not weird? Does that not ring any alarm bells? *Every single Black lesbian artist* in recent years decided to not go mainstream apparently and that seems normal to you? If it was really about supporting up and coming lesbian artists there would be way more noise for Cat Burns, Black Polish and HAWA.
