A lot of us are still here, you know. Especially the lesbians. And we got called queer a lot, just before getting our asses kicked, so we don’t all really love that word ok? Nonetheless, if anyone wants help, info or just a fun story, drop me a line.

As a queer Gen Z, I constantly think about how there’s such a huge chunk of the queer community that’s simply… missing. So much of the queer community died during AIDS that almost an entire generation of us is simply not there anymore.

Those queer people were supposed to be our teachers, our mentors, maybe even our parents or grandparents. Those queer people were supposed to be there for us. They were supposed to be at pride events, welcoming all the young queers. They were supposed to be representation in our careers. Those people were supposed to be there to help us navigate life as queer people, and it’s devastating for both us and them that they never got to do it.

You’ve all heard the joke, yeah? How many lesbian feminists does it take to change a light bulb? One, and that’s not funny.

I believe that there are more gay men’s bars for several reasons, the biggest reason being the stereotypes and attitudes of straight people towards gay men and lesbians. Gay guys are fun! They’re camp! There’s disco and drag shows and sexy shirtless guys with glitter on their ass cheeks. Gay men are fun, yeah? Always sassy and sardonic and love to look their best! Straight girls love to go to gay bars because the guys won’t hit on them, and they drag their dates along and it’s a wild good time for everyone! So new ones open, with a bigger dance floor, or a stage for better drag shows, or the biggest Halloween costume extravaganza in the whole city!

It’s also true that gay men on average earn a lot more than lesbians, and have much more disposable income for pricey cocktails and new year’s galas, so there’s another reason to open another club.

In some small towns there’s only enough market for one bar, so for sure it’s gonna be the boy bar because they’re gonna bring their straight girl friends, and maybe there’ll be a bachelorette party!

And who’s gonna go to a lesbian bar besides lesbians? Straight girls don’t want to get hit on by dykes. They’ll tell you that as soon as you come out to them (I don’t mind but I’m not gay, so….). Straight men are not welcome. I’ve danced on some lesbian bar dance floors, but they’ve never been mirrored and glittery with banks of video screens. I’ve been to a lot of women’s folk nights, with sliding scale cover charges and bottled beer. Women don’t make as much money, either, on average, so a bar wouldn’t be much of a big profit investment.

Gay men are fun and a good market. Lesbians aren’t and aren’t.

oh my god okay SO i cant talk about vritra without ashtaroth theyre two halves of a whole

they spent nearly all their time together and this was all before yknow lucifer had their little hissy fit and he and many other celestials fell.

what vritra didnt know tho was that ashtaroth felt the same as lucifer and there was tension between the celestials but vritra the sweet dumbass thought everything was fine.

and then the revolution happened. all hell broke loose in heaven and ambushes and allat shit and almsot every celestial that was in the place where vritra was at died and because they was the only survivor it was assumed it was his fault and ashtaroth being who they were was like "yeah its their fault" because they didnt wanna loose vritra bc ashtaroth wasnt gonna stay in heaven so their fate was sealed away with all the other fallen celestials and they were kicked from heaven.

ashtaroth thought that they would remain together because they would both be cast out of heaven but

BOY were they wrong

after that happened, ashtaroth and vritra spent a millennia without eachother, vritras anger festering in his heart for being betrayed by the one person they trusted and loved the most in the universe and ashtaroth longing for the day in which they could reconcile

so vritras whole shtick was well if i devote myself to returning to heaven maybe they will take me back. so they became a priest and being on sacred ground suppressed his anger and essentially controlled his powers. they spend a lot of time meditating and often go days just sitting there

meanwhile ashtaroth basically went into denial that the person they loved most in the universe wants nothing more than to see them dead and turned to pretty bad coping mechanisms and basically fell prey to becoming one of lucifers goons carrying out her will and doing demonly things and then later being betrayed by lucifer. one day after escaping from captivity, ashtaroth returned to the chagrin of vritra

any more and itd be spoilers for the main story!
