Ever since I watched the new movie in the Planet of the Apes franchise two weeks ago, it has been living in my thoughts rent-free and completely dominating my cell phone history. I've read so many reviews, theories, watched behind-the-scenes videos and interviews (I'm the obsessive type who can't JUST like something and has to make it an addiction, a necessity in my daily life) and of course I haven't stopped researching here on tumblr either. And it was researching here that I discovered:

Anyway, that's not specifically what I want to talk about. But I've also discovered the discussions you're having about the ship, and I come here to humbly ask you: please don't stop, it's been my greatest entertainment over the last few days😅😂😂

Joking aside, it's been very interesting for me to follow this, because I've been using tumblr for 2 years and it's the first time I've seen a debate about it, and let's face it, in 2 years you discover A LOT here, especially if you consume diverse subjects, like me. You always end up stumbling and falling into a hole... maybe a dark one... maybe a strange one... and maybe you'll never get out of it 💀💀

The point is, my curiosity has led me to start a survey focused mainly on exposing opinions about this ship, focusing on people who consume monster/human-related content and people who don't.

I have no intention of starting wild fights with insults and all, I'm just looking for numbers and statistics. I'll be posting a poll with these same tags so that you can vote and talk civilly, and attached to the post there will be a Google form with some more information to fill in and make it easier to analyze the data (all done anonymously of course).

Been thinking about Marshall and Lime, and im not sure if perhaps you havent already mentioned it:

Does being a white or black canvas doesnt make them part of a magic community by default/at birth?? (Putting aside the special force smth of m34, and any witches and guilds and etc.)

thats a good question!!! its a bit of a gray area (ba dum ts 🥁), in my head i always considered "being a member of the magic community" as having something that makes you like. not a normal human. like having some kind of magic or being a spirit/monster/cryptid/etc!!

for black and white canvases, theres nothing inherently special about them besides the level of their magic resistance..,,everyone has some level of resistance, they are just the most extreme levels, but i dont think having it is considered any kind of special magic power or sets you too far apart from other humans!!

for a black canvas its being a part of a guild/the m-34th is what makes you part of the magic community!! the m-34th has nothing inherently magic but since they involve themselves so much in police-ing the magic community they are by and large considered a part of it

for a white canvas its actually incredibly hard to get involved with the magic community i feel... mostly for this reason: a lot of the community hides behind some kind of masking spell-- witches use the mob spell, the merchant uses...something, sulluvan only appears to those who he wants to, but all of it has its roots in "using magic to conceal yourself from the world," and the less resistance you have the less you're able to break from that!! essentially, a white canvas is the most magic-gullible type LOL!! contrast this to a black canvas where you couldnt use a masking spell around them if you tried your best, theyd see right through it

im actually not sure how marshall even ends up being part of the m-34th and gets involved anyway...his pipeline into the magic community must have been someone directly pulling him in and getting him straight to the m-34th because theres no way he couldve gotten in organically the way lime did, he would just be going about his merry way...

○ This video was the result of a Patreon poll, and the option the guys least wanted to win, because they knew how much work it would be. But they committed to it like the professionals they are, going all out on the music, costumes, and choreography.

○ The medley is an update / expansion of the previous version they had been performing at live shows for many years. They took the opportunity to swap out some songs in the earlier arrangement for others by the same artists:

Jackson 5 — "ABC" ⇒ "I Want You Back"

Four Seasons — "Sherry" ⇒ "Walk Like a Man"

*NSYNC — "Bye Bye Bye" ⇒ "POP"

○ To get the dance moves right, they called in a ringer — choreographer Kristin Denehy from The Sing-Off competition show and live tours, who they'd also worked with on their "Cheerleader" video several years before.

○ The group of gossipers during "Walk Like a Man" is all of VoicePlay's spouses at the time — Nick Perez, Kathy Castellucci, Cyndi Stein, and Ashley Jacobson.

○ The sandwich delivery guy in "Thank You" is the fellas' longtime friend and collaborator Rek Dunn. Given that Boyz II Men are proud Philadelphians, he's probably handing over a cheesesteak.

○ Eli sings some of the Korean lyrics in the closing BTS section. Given that he speaks Japanese, he was probably the most likely of the guys to get the pronunciation right. (And judging by the YouTube comments from BTS fans, he did a good job.)

○ When Geoff was rehearsing the choreography at home, he got some personal coaching from Kathy and little William.

○ The guys also had group dance rehearsals at a local studio.

○ The long day of filming and dancing aggravated Earl's old foot injury, so he spent the next day wearing a brace to help it recover.

○ The 4:2:Five boys had opened for 98 Degrees at Sea World all the way back in September 2001, just a few months after they'd released their first professional EP. When VoicePlay appeared on the fourth season of The Sing-Off in 2013, working with Nick Lachey again was a little bit of a reunion.

BAKUGO KATSUKI!!!

....PLEASE DON'T KILL ME LET ME EXPLAIN!

I don't know why, but I just got a gut feeling that Clover and Bakugo would make a good couple. I don't even fully understand it myself it just came to me instantly when I saw this ask my brain was like yep Bakugo.

The mor I thought about it the more the idea grew on me. They are that sunshine and raincloud trope and for some reason it works. Bakugo is just like I hate everyone and everything...except you. He won't admit it but if anything happened to her, he would kill everyone and then himself.

He doesn't understand why, but Clover just makes him feel all soft and warm and not hella pissed off for once. She's like a small kitten or puppy that just looks so soft, and he wants to cuddle it so bad because even Bakugo can't hate kittens/puppies.

The day he met Clover she had just kinda been dragged into the Bakugo squad by Denki and Kirishima and he just couldn't say no because 1. It's those two even if he said no they would do what they wanted anyway and 2. he thought she was super cute ok.

Ever since that day he basically became her guard dog and anyone who tries to mess with her or take advantage of her would have to deal with King Lord Explosion Murder!!! (DIEEEEEEEE *BOOM*) even though he knows and acknowledges the fact that she can absolutely protect herself.

Bakugo also has a tendency to swear less and be less violent around Clover. He doesn't want to scare her off (although if you asked him about it, he would just deny it and call you a dumba$$). Especially when they are alone, he is an overall much gentler person when she's there.

If Clover is struggling with any of her classes Bakugo will over to tutor her (although he'll pretend, he doesn't want to like the true tsundere he is). Now Bakugo isn't the most patient person even with Clover, but he will try his absolute hardest to stay calm while helping her even if her ADHD is acting up more that day. He will also make sure to explain it in a way she can really understand and grasp before moving to the next subject or problem. (This isn't a stereotype jab at adhd btw I just thought tutor Bakugo was a cute idea plz dnt hate me)

I feel like once they got together Clover and Bakugo would take a lot of dates outdoors. Hiking, camping, picnics especially picnics we all know Bakugo is basically anime Gordon Ramsey and would make some top tier food.

Lowkey Bakugo really likes to spoil Clover with his cooking especially since he isn't very touchy feely or open with his emotions. She may wanna watch out she may gain a few pounds because man knows how much she likes sweets and will make her a LOOOOOT of them because he can't resist how her face lights up when she's eating them (He doesn't mind the pounds though because it means he's a good cook and more Clover to love so sue him.

Overall, Bakugo and Clover would be opposites attract kind of couple. People would be surprised at how well they get along, and grateful there is someone around to keep Bakugo calm.

I might have more respect for the recent spate of "no true scotsman" liberalism posts if the top liberals got together and agreed on some kind of constitution, catechism, creed, or other codification of Official Liberalism; that they promise to be held to even when it's inconvenient; which they can credibly say they are signing on behalf of many liberals. Otherwise that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Of course this suggestion is bait, because if liberalism has a defining essence, part of it is precisely not doing that. Liberalism is about letting individuals speak for themselves instead of having great leaders speak for them, and liberalism is about rejecting long-dead reactionary hidebound traditionalists from years past, in favor of fashionable new thinkers of this year, repeat every year.

Sometimes the fashionable thought is for humanities degree requirements, and that's liberal for a while.

As I noted in a previous post, there's early liberals who were all in favor of multiculturalism, separation of church and state, sexual and racial egalitarianism, free speech and so forth four hundred years ago... but still wanted atheists barred from government. And there's present-day liberals larping at SCOTUS confirmation hearings who want Catholics barred from government, jeering at "freeze peach" and demanding preferential hiring and admission standards for blacks.

Between those two extremes, America has a great many people who want a kind of moderate liberalism.

They're called the Republican Party. 🥁🎶

Very much in favor of the moderate liberalism of circa 20-40 years ago, that lot, when interracial marriage was widely accepted but Barack Obama still said marriage is between a man and a woman.

Liberalism actively resists codification. Any codified definition would rapidly become the equivalent of the Republican Party, last generation's de jure liberalism at best, with something else being the de facto liberalism. This makes it hard to say that something "definitionally can't be liberalism". This is one of the things I dislike about liberalism. It makes liberalism non-dogovorosposobnye. (That post is about "Left" but much of the principle carries over: future liberals would feel little respect for a codification signed by people dead before they were born.)

If you believe you needed to get a humanities degree to hold the "correct" political opinions, than the politics you have somewhat definitionally can't be liberalism. You're one step away from saying people who didn't get a degree in an approved liberal arts discipline shouldn't be allowed to vote.
