Amazing episode especially all the additional BNHA cards and advert breaks (Philly's fridges how I have missed you) just in general really fun editing. I was going to make a joke about Cherri must be getting paiddd this week with all the additional content but honestly I just wanted to add that its so cool how collaborative you are in your presentation. The trivia bot bit with Oli (I assumed you got him to record those extra lines), including affiliated adverts for projects not necessarily life series (Mcc cards and Mumbos mainly hermitcraft centered merch drop) and just these fun editing bits ontop of the base content. Just these little extra 4th wall bits that are usually just for LORE (Insert sparkles) being used in creative and collaborative ways is just really cool. I've said this before but Cherris thumbnails are what got me into your POV and its so unique and playful and fun to have them, if not scary and suspenseful to see when it is darker Lore (I will never be over lim life finale. Ever.) Just an appreciation for the editing/presentation side of your POV because it's so goddam cool how much substance you can bring afterwards and it always makes me think "This man has like 4 days to edit how does he keep producing so many bangers and additional ideas DOES HE SLEEP". Super good stuff dude

The answer is no, I don't sleep. I sacrificed a fair bit of sleep and all my 'down time' this week to make this episode happen. It definitely wouldn't be sustainable with any kind of regularity lol

Trivia bit VO was actually me. The animations were luckily in the model file from the Devs when they sent it is for thumbnail purposes, very lucky!

Oli posting an ad (and me even seeing it) were all a total coincidence. I was wrapping the episode and wanted one more break then saw he'd posted it like 30 mins ago

Elisa Trey's high school sweetheart (everything about that man says he has a long distant girlfriend and their relationship is super healthy). Their parents are great friends blablabla. Not that exciting Gwendolynn friend for Jack who has a huge crush on him because she falls for any guy thats nice to her. Super cliché that a girl who's really into cute stuff likes the big bad boy (on first glance). I'm super original. Talking about original; I originally named her Sally but later on realized that Jack Skeletons girls is also named Sally. So maybe change her name later on again idk. Nailah Came from the joke that the only girl that could handle Sebek is a deaf one and then me and my friend thought about it more and it's very adorable come on. Sebek being very intrigued and learning sign language. And she just thinks he's a very handsome normal man who totaly does not shout. His lips are very read-able.

Anna In the game Ace mentions he had a girlfriend he ghosted after like dating for two weeks. I just made a design for that girl. Like to think she's still bitter that her first boyfriend ghosted her like that and made up a rumor he likes feet so no girl in their high school wanted to talk to him. Tomboy tsundere type who tries her best at school and get's angry easily. Jean-Marie named after one of the bells of Notre Dame (eyy). She is pretty weird and developed an obsession with the chapel from the Nobel Bell College and that evolved into an obsession with Rollo. She likes to photograph Rollo the chapel.

Most of these are just fun ideas, don't take them too serious :)

Based on the NES sprites, I present you with the Identical Twins au. In which Mario and Luigi were born as... well... identical instead of fraternal twins.

Their bodies and physical capabilities are, with very few exceptions, completely identical. Same strength, same jumping height, same stamina, etc.

Ditto for their looks. For those who are wondering, Luigi's green eyes are contacts he got because he liked the color. He's tried to style his moustache like in the games, but for some reason the hairs never want to stay in that shape for long.

Sonething similiar applies to their physical stats, which can be temporarily altered via beans, but have this strange tendency to reset themselves to the identical base values every so often...

That said, Luigi's steady diet of mushrooms during his formative years has made him slightly taller. It's no more than 2 cm and one can only notice it when they're not wearing hats, when their hair floof doesn't get in the way, and upon looking very closely, but that difference is there.

So are they 2 of the same person? Absolutely not. Mario's still the cheery, outgoing, optimistic, stubborn to a fault one. Luigi's still the clumsy, easy to scare, brave, inventive one.

But if one only looks at their appearances, it's easy to get them mixed up. How likely that is to happen varies from person to person.

For better or worse, their parents can always tell them apart effortlessly. (The bros grew up in the Brooklyn part of New Donk City and moved to the Mushroom Kingdom as adults.)

Their friends and other relatives can mostly tell them apart, though they do occassionally mess up. The bros can also pull a twin switch when they want to, just with a bit of effort.

As kids they liked to swap their shirts and hats when nobody was looking and pretend to be the other one for fun. They can still do it as adults, just with more difficulty, but rarely take that initiative.

There was one particular incident when they were in grade school. Mario had missed a major test due to being sick that day and was not good with the material, so Luigi offered to take it for him. Mario just needed to take Luigi's place for a few hours. This did not work for long, as some bullies wanted to pick on "Luigi" while his brother was away and Mario didn't take kindly to that, to say the least. Meanwhile, the teacher saw through "Mario" due to certain handwriting quirks, recognizing familiarly worded answers, and Luigi having signed the test in his own name. Both of them ended up with detention that day.

Strangers and acquaintances mixed them up quite regularly. The reason the brothers went with their NES colors as adults instead of the matching look was to make each other stand out more.

During their first mission to rescue Peach, Mario did most of the work with Luigi occasionally chipping in to help. This, along with Mario's more outgoing personality in general, led to many assuming they were the same person.

And when Luigi went out in public to do things like shopping and used his own name, the Toads either assumed he's Mario making jokes or using an alias to avoid drawing too much attention and decide to "play along".

The brothers being adressed by their surnames by many people in the beginning meant this development wasn't noticed until it had already spread. Some even went as far as to say the idea of Mario having a brother was just a rumor.

To say Mario wasn't happy about this when he found out is a massive understatement. As soon as he heard the news, he cashed in a favour from Peach and she assembled a public conference just so Mario could clear up the misunderstanding. And gush about how cool his lil bro is while he was at it.

Meanwhile Bowser, despite having fought both brothers, at first didn't even catch on to them being two different people. He just thought it was Mario using wearing different clothes or using power ups. Once Kamek finally managed to clue him in, he's taken to calling Luigi "Green Mario" because he knows just how much Mario hates that.

Luigi's clothing choice of white overalls as a plumber had gotten him some playful ridicule from his relatives. He's taken it as a challenge though, with him keeping a log of all the jobs he's done without getting them dirty.

There was one incident where Luigi dyed his hair green. The twins have taken a blood oath to never bring it up again.

On one surprisingly sunny November day, a young Merlin lands graciously on a tree not too far from where Chris and Misha are walking. It tilts its head while it observes the wizard and gives a few chattering calls before taking off again, something bright red tied to one of its legs. The presence of the wolf agitates the falcon a little, so it chooses not to land on the ground but instead on a branch of another nearby tree, high enough for the boy to reach but with plenty of distance to take off if the lupus decides to strike.

The object tied to Merlin's leg is an origami piece of an animal that easily comes off when touched, allowing the bird to leave. Upon closer inspection, it is a paper wolf that stirs on Chris' palms, stands on its wobbly paper feet and raises its head high up. Even without the sound it is clear that it is howling. Then, suddenly, the paper unfolds itself, revealing a letter.

Dear Chris, I can't believe we've known each other for so long already. We took a winding path towards becoming friends. It is still a little wild to me that you felt like I ever needed anything in return other than your genuine company. I know, we've talked about it, and I really should've seen it sooner. Will often says that I don't see things right under my nose. But I still want you to know that I'll never require anything from you in return for a chocolate frog or homework or a friendly chat. You are my friend. Anything you need — I'll never say no. I am unsure where to find you as we live in different dorms, but wherever you are right now, I wish you a Happy Birthday, from my whole heart. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to enjoy every day of your life. You deserve companionship (and I mean human, too, not just Misha's!) Perhaps I'll catch you at dinner? I think William got you some yummy goodies earlier today (I probably should not have said that), so don't fill your tummy up all the way! Happy Birthday, dear friend! Your shiny unicorn, Elland 🌙

"Merlin, why does he have to be so embarrassing?" muttered Chris after running his eyes over the letter. He was sitting on a large mossy rock with his leg tucked under him.  

"Have you ever felt that it's just…ugh… almost painful to read something?" he addressed Misha, who was stretching lazily beside him.

Misha didn't answer. Well, he tended to do that - not bothering to reply. Chris didn't blame him since he often was the same.

"Well, I guess the inability to read can solve this, can't it?" Chris smiled and petted Misha's ear.

"What I mean is all this… "deserving" stuff. Why wouldn't he just insult me? That would be much easier and fun to read. Like, I don't know, happy birthday, you prick? Bring your ass here, or I'll eat all the goodies, and then William? Not that I would care about the latter, but at least it would be fun. And this," Chris waved the letter in the air, "this is pure torture."

Chris sighed and made himself reread the letter, this time trying not to skip everything that started with “you deserve”. He was positively unbearable sometimes. Elland, that is. 

Maybe that’s why Chris was so glad to see his falcon today?

“Look, look,” Chris nudged Misha, pointing at the your shiny unicorn line. “He’s trying to joke here.” 

Misha looked at the parchment. The parchment wasn’t edible and hence wasn’t a feature of interest.

“Oh, don’t worry, mate, I didn’t get it, either,” Chris assured Misha. He then glanced at the letter again. 

“He’s a weirdo. Elland.” Chris smiled warmly. “But…have you ever met wolves that were not as bad as other wolves? Because I have. Quite a few, actually. Well, not wolves, people, and that makes it even stranger. I have only one explanation for this - it’s Hogwarts. And if so,” Chris grabbed his bag and fished out ink and a quill, “I freaking love magic.”

See you at dinner. Bring the goodies. You can leave the prefect where he is.

Chris smirked, aware that Will would probably read it anyway. Well, no one asked him peeking at Elland's correspondence.

“My shiny unicorn is waiting,” he explained to Misha, who enthusiastically followed him on his way out of the forest. 

“I need to send an owl first and grab those pasties I bought for Will in Honeydukes. You see, Monsieur Tangerine, in addition to all his flaws, is a gourmet, and we often have differences of opinion on the matter of taste. But this time, I’m sure even he will like it!”

Wintertime prompts

“—and don’t go lifting anything heavy for the next few days at least.” Kix says. Then, “Yes, I know it’s your ankle that’s sprained. How do you think you’re going to carry anything when you can barely walk?”

The Lieutenant closes his mouth with a grimace. Kix is kind when he hands over a crutch with a smile, helping the slightly-wobbly kid get back onto his feet. To his utter lack of surprise, once Bo waves his goodbye he hobbles straight towards the bustle and lights of the civilian celebration.

Coric snorts when he sees Kix shaking his head.

“Come on, they’re not going to do themselves any more harm than they would on this ship.”

“You are far too optimistic about that,” Kix mutters, but it’s more for the principle of the argument than any true disappointment.

The slap to the shoulder and good natured jostle are expected, Coric grinning in that way of his that always makes you feel like you’re sharing a joke together.

“Not really,” he says lightly, “but I am certain you’re just grumpy because you’re stuck here with me. Where’s that second of yours?”

“Jesse? He’s probably stuffing his face with some kind of unrecognisable species of tuber.”

“Someone say my name?” comes a voice from over Kix’s shoulder. They both turn to take in the sight of—yes, a rather pleased looking Jesse tearing a chunk of something bread-like and definitely dunked in too much sauce, off a stick as he wanders into the medical tent.

Kix watches in fascination as he chews, swallows, and somehow manages to get it all over the left side of his chin.

“Why are you like this,” he groans, mostly to himself.

Jesse grins and throws his arm over Kix’s shoulder. It’s the arm holding this strange half-mauled treat, so Coric is forced to lunge out of the way lest he also be covered in sauce.

“I know you’re just sad you’re missing out, it’s a real fun time out there. Looks like we’ve come during some kind of local holiday, so all the stallholders have Hardcase’s squad helping them put up decorations. So, I thought I’d bring the festival to you.”

Jesse’s other hand, which Kix had somehow ignored, appears in front of his face holding a second stick. It’s the same bread-snack, apparently originally shaped like a tree, although this one is adorned with a much more reasonable quantity of sauce. Kix takes it carefully and sniffs it. Tangy.

Out of the corner of his eye he can see Jesse grinning. He only gets like this when he knows it’s something Kix will genuinely enjoy—unlike Echo, who adores Fives’ terrible reactions to horrible tasting foodstuffs from the worst corners of the galaxy. So Kix bites into it, pleasantly surprised but not actually shocked when the warm, savoury flavours make his mouth water and his stomach gurgle.

“Hells, you two make me sick,” Coric laughs. “Take the rest of the evening off, for stars’ sakes, just don’t bring any of that sticky stuff into my sterile zone, you hear?”

Jesse laughs, replying with something jovial and almost witty, no doubt; Kix, suddenly feeling the weight of exhaustion from the day’s work and a deep, spiritual gratitude for surviving this battle yet to have this moment here, sinks into Jesse’s side and enjoys the comfort of good food and a safe embrace.

Even if Jesse smears sauce over his cheek when he leans in to kiss him.

(He can be forgiven, just this once.)

I think I’ve landed somewhere in the middle on how much Stolas was *consciously* increasing the Imp/Demon Royalty divide? On the one hand he could just be playing it up and getting real into character because he’s a dramatic bitch, on the other he seems to be speaking directly to the camera and choosing his words carefully for maximum potential and words are kind of his thing. And while his acceptance of people throwing stuff on him could be just how sad and in shock he is, but he says “It’s fine” with like an acceptance that just makes me think he knew what he was doing he just didn’t expect to live to face the consequences.

On the other hand his confession doesn’t actually make sense, which I believe is just another way to point out his privilege, he doesn’t even have to make sense and they believe him over the Imp and he escapes execution by nature of his birth. I can read it either as on the spot improv OR a plan that had to be put into action sooner than he realized.

Either way, he was doing as much as could for Blitz in what he thought would be his last moments. Which is lovely.

I still feel like they need to pay off the Prophecy aspect of his abilities though, they’ve dropped enough hints and this would be a perfect way to do that?? But I think there are just too many things that don’t line up for it to be a neat and tidy theory so I’m holding back on that until I get another indication that there is a longer game. The inclusion of the Circus and Stolas coming into his powers doesn’t make sense without Prophecy coming into play though? Otherwise it’s just redundant, which is still possible, sometimes shows are redundant.

The thing about analyzing a cartoon show is it’s impossible to know what is part of the animation, a fun throwaway, a joke/gag or something to take seriously that will actually be a part of the plot.

I definitely see us doing a role reversal in S2, and some potentially rocky conflicts between them as a result because they have some walking miles in each others shoes to do and that won’t be easy either way, but I’m holding out hope that Viv and team aren’t going full dark/sad/realistic with this long term. A story is best when the characters go through the wringer and up and down back and forth but end up where they need to be eventually.

I might just write it how it could play out. if I ever break free from my self imposed Christmas Craft Curse and have free time again.

I feel like the "dan is bi" anon is trolling but just in case they're genuinely confused: yes dan said in BIG that he loved and felt attracted to his high school gf (although he also made it pretty clear that they did not have sex so idk where anon is getting the idea that he has slept with "multiple women" 💀), and he alluded to his attraction not being confined to a specific gender in the part where he talked about labels, but you're completely taking all of that wildly out of context and missing the point of the whole video by calling him bi. I feel like this is probably the part that's frying their brain:

But firstly, imo it was very clear from BIG, as well as other stuff he's said over the years, that he just doesn't like labels. Which I find very valid, it took me a long time to figure out how to label myself. I still don't know what my gender is lmao but I started saying "bi" for my sexuality because it's a widely-used term that gets the point across. And I think that's the thing here: he came to the conclusion that the labels "gay" and "queer" are the best descriptors of his identity, which do the most accurate job of approximating something extremely psychologically complex and multilayered and nuanced in a simple everyday term that gets the point across to other people.

Obviously words mean things and it doesn't make sense to just pick a label at random (like for example it wouldn't make sense for me to identify as a lesbian, since I definitely feel attraction to men as well as women and everything outside the binary, and am interested in acting on that attraction at times, so I wouldn't be conveying accurate information to other people if I used the label lesbian for myself) but a label is just supposed to serve the task of conveying relevant information to other people (if a lesbian feels some kind of abstract attraction to dan and phil, that doesn't mean that the alphabet council needs to immediately revoke their lesbian card!! Since the word "lesbian" still does a perfectly good job of conveying relevant information to other people. Likewise if a straight dude has a fun little gay dalliance with his college roommate, but has absolutely 0 interest in men beyond that incident, it wouldn't be remotely necessary for him to start calling himself bi if he didn't want to, because what would be the point in that if he's only interested in women? Like if he told a gay dude who found him attractive that he's bi, only to backtrack... Do you see what I'm saying here?). It's perfectly valid for Dan to use "gay" and "queer" as umbrella terms that in his opinion do the best job of describing him, out of the language that's available. If he's like essentially a kinsey >5 and decided to just round it off to a 6 at this point, who are you to tell him he can't lmao

Human sexuality is often way too complicated to boil it down to a single label in a way that doesn't erase any of its nuance, and I feel like this is something he's struggled with in the past, especially with him being a public figure. He's mentioned multiple times that feeling like he had to choose a label was a factor that prolonged his decision to come out.

And this is not even getting into the impact that his trauma from his childhood and also from spending a chunk of his formative years in the public eye probably had on the way he identifies or the way he chooses to label himself. It clearly took so much courage and strength for him to finally be able to call himself gay/queer please have some respect for our brave troops

Ultimately the point is that he uses the labels "gay" and "queer", not "bi", and it really shouldn't be difficult to respect that. It's also not biphobic for him to choose not use the label "bi" (again speaking as someone who uses that label). It's just that he feels "gay"/"queer" are better descriptors for him and nobody gets to determine that except him!! :) He wants people to know he's gay so he calls himself gay and that's that on that.

There are definitely people on here who are way smarter and more well-educated than me who would've done a much better job eloquently discussing this topic without rambling all over the place but that's my take (if anyone would like to add to this please do so, I'm always open to learn more about topics like this. why do you hate Joshua Graham or Honest Hearts so much?

This DLC and character represents a bigger issue with fandom spaces I have but particularly fallout fandom in general.

Fallout tends to tackle a lot of topics controversial and not. The first two games it’s heavy cause they are the most satirical and direct with how anti-war, nationalism and etc… they are. 3 loses this as it’s very clear once you play or learn about all the games that Todd and a bunch of guys at Bethesda just liked the 50s post apocalyptic aesthetic and refuse to actually critique the ideals of the time period like the earlier titles.

New Vegas is the game that really gets back into it a degree it almost seems like it’s taking too much on. There are things done exceedingly well while other things are done horribly wrong . I’ve made posts about it before and plan to make a big series of posts (it’s a lot of writing) but my biggest gripe is with Honest Hearts and all the gross and white savior esque depictions it has of indigenous peoples. The entirety if FNV does not do the injustices faced by indigenous people correctly on any count. My two biggest complaints are with the Khans and the tribes in Zion but I’ll talk about the former on a different post.

Both characters of Daniel and Joshua are the most accurate depiction of white saviors I’ve seen and I hate how the DLC tries to justify and defend them. The DLC treats Joshua like this man who has repented for his past actions when he is just retracing his steps after his cruelty bit him in the ass. He was one of the worst parts of the Legion and it is all but explicitly stated that if you don’t force him to be non-violent he will turn the tribes of Zion into the legion 2.0. The Dead Horses and the Sorrows are horribly infantilized by both Daniel and Joshua who both use them for self serving purposes guised by religious duty. The White Legs are the horrible stereotype of violent and savage indigenous and I personally think a lot of their interlinking with Ulysses, his hair and Ulysses character in general are distasteful and very telling of how BIPOC or POC where involved.

But outside of the game it’s the weird obsession people have with these characters ideologies and trying to make them seem more interesting/philosophical than they are. Tumblr is an echo chamber and many fans of Fallout are not the people on this site. Many people are not educated in the issues these characters convey and how poorly they do or used these characters as a poor introduction for their takes. Contrary to what a lot of people believe in, fallout has a prediomeny white cis male fanbase. More importantly a large portion of the fanbase is white.

You can joke how FNV made you trans or see the numbers on post/fics or diverse headcanons but these are kiddy numbers compared to the millions that consume the franchise and aren’t in those more aware spaces or don’t engage in the spaces the same way someone like me does/has to. Their views shape a lot more than people realize and it’s exhausting to be in a space where people don’t correct the more subtle yet toxic aspects of it but also adopt them into some weird quirky view point on the characters or issues. Some people don’t realize and some people don’t care.

My main issue is just the idolizing of these sort of thing in this fandom space and people try to acts like a game like fallout whose tagline is “War never changes” and has never had a game not revolve around political or militaristic factions issues isn’t that deep or doesn’t relate to real issues. I think it’s mainly caused by how over powered you can become and how you can strong arm your way past these learning moments as majority of people who play this game do play it as a power fantasy where they can do so as they please (which of course, go ahead it’s fun) but never take in parallels or lessons in the story as if it was just another first person shooter.

Also like another personal gripe is Cazadores spawn like hell whenever I’m there and I have not found a mod that works to mod them out so I have to play Indigenous Racism the DLC while getting jumped by giant wasps WHILE helping Mormons. Like I cannot catch a break.

-each agency is a clan, not each unit. 14-15 clans would be silly and then we would have some clans with 5 cats and some with 2.

-starpro -> lightclan. i couldn’t call them “starclan” for obvious reasons. light is somewhat synonymous with star, so i’m going with that.

-cospro -> nightclan. i don’t think the cats in warriors know the word “cosmic”, but cosmic implies cosmos implies night sky, so we’re going with night

-rhyth lin -> rippleclan. ripple is sort of a synonym to rhythm….? this one was hard

-new di -> fortuneclan. this one is a stretch but neither “new” or “dimension” have synonyms that really fit a clan name. fortune is something that relates to multiple characters in new di though

-starclan still sort of exists, but the cats do not believe in them the way they do in warriors. they are more of a nursery tale than anything, and select cats (ex: tatsumi) believe in them, but it is not written into their code. medicine cats can still interpret signs, but they do not necessarily think of them as coming from starclan.

-medicine cat forbidden romance is not a thing here

-intermingling of clans is ok and common

-leo -> lionheart. ok this one is kind of cheating because lionheart is already an existing warrior, but…come on….

-izumi -> silverspring. sora describes his color as silver, and spring is in his first name

-ritsu -> frostmoon. his first name means cold moon according to the wiki so i just rehashed it

-naru -> goldenroar. since she doesn’t like her first name i didn’t want to use “storm”, and her last name can be read as “thunder” but that’s a little too close to storm? so golden for her hair and roar for her last name

-natsume -> sageeye. a sage is similar to a wizard, and eye is in his first name . also the “dovesong” mentioned is wataru :)

Another incoming rant

It's kinda hard for me to fully get into Ever Crisis discussions because of how hostile it is at times (for me personally). Like I find some things interesting but I feel like so many forget that this is a fucking Gacha game still. Yeah Square pulled a Square with putting important lore in it but we haven't seen the full picture AT ALL. I see people making outlandish claims of characterization and I think that's fine and all really, it becomes a problem when they attacks others for not seeming agreeing with them. I don't have much to say about EC because of not having a full picture.

I also just....wanna have fun with the costumes you know? I think many forget the fun part way too often and have weird expectations for them. As well as what it can mean possibly for theories or ships. MAN THOSE ARE JUST COSTUMES THAT THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES WOULD WEAR BECAUSE IT MACHES THEM CALM DOWN. (Again that's no issue honestly but don't expect others to see it your way lmao)
