crazy- toji fushiguro x reader
SFW
a/n: if you guys want a part two i’ll be so down to do it!! love this sm. don’t mind any spelling errors, i’m tipsy writing this lolol
toji would curse shiu as long as he lived. bringing him to a bar? this fancy? one drink was over $13.
“how much longer of this crap?” toji stared down at shiu, fixing his rented suit. it was last minute, and though it fit him, he wasn’t used to wearing fancy crap like this. “it’s common courtesy to let the show finish before we socialize, fushiguro.” shiu teased, smoking his cigarette.
shiu had to meet up with some higher ups, dragging toji along since he’d be doing the real dirty work. toji denied at first, as this bar was meant for crazy rich people who had nothing better to do.
his eyes met the stage, where a beautiful woman in a black, skin tight gown held into a mic, singing. her beautiful, deep voice rang in his ears. he could give less shits about the music, but more so the woman amongst him. your long, beautiful curled hair. the smokey eye that made your beautiful eyes glint in the dim light, the used ashtray on the stool beside you, the red manicured nails, everything about you made him crazy.
“don’t eat her with your eyes, fushiguro.” shiu chuckled. “who’s she?” toji didn’t dare to move his eyes from you. “don’t know her name, but she’s a real eye candy. she’s here every weekend. real charming voice, too.” shiu lit a second cigarette. “go offer her a drink.” he added.
-
not long after you, another woman joined the stage. after a few quiet “thank you’s.” and polite bows, you left the stage.
toji had lost you in the crowd for a moment. he stood up, fixing his suit. “going to find her?” shiu smirked. “shut it, asshole.” toji huffed, making his way to the bar. he felt out of place, such a strong tall man, a serial killer, a gambler, mixed in with rich assholes who’d spit on him if they knew what he did and where he had come from.
“one yamazaki shot, please!” you waved down your favorite bartender. “make that two.” toji appeared from behind you. you turned around, eyes meeting the tall man’s eyes. you were used to men buying you drinks, trying to talk to you, even trying to slip money in your top. but for some reason, this man gave you a new feeling.
toji pulled out a stool for you, taking your hand as he helped you up. he took the chair next to you, watching as you took down your shot. he did the same, keeping his face from twisting up. expensive definitely doesn’t mean good.
“my names fushiguro. what’s yours?” “kamodo.” oh, rich family. of course. “no, not that kamodo. i couldn’t even dream of being part of that family.” you laugh as you see his eyes widen at your surname. “i was about to say.” toji smiled. “you have a beautiful voice, doll.” he complimented. “thank you, i appreciate you.” you giggle, setting your hands in your lap.
“i took you more of a vodka girl, maybe even sake. but whiskey?” he flirts, eyes your beautiful features. “what can i say? stuff gets boring around here, but expensive doesn’t mean good.” you look up at the colorful bar. “took two words right out of my mouth.”
“you from here?” he tilted his head. “no, i’m from tokyo, but business brought me down here.” sorcerer business. not that you were in it anymore. truth is, you came from the rich side of the sorcerer family, but the other half of your family was just a rich surname who lived normal lives. so, rich in both worlds. you hated saying it. you dropped sorcery after your sister had died from it. you were done protecting people.
“and you?” “i just float around, not really sure what i’m doing here tonight.” toji shrugged. “your buddy brought you here?” you looked at shiu, who was shaking a man’s hand. you order another round, slipping a cigarette from a golden case in your purse. “want one?” “i don’t smoke.” he shook his head. he took down the shot, watching as you did the same.
“gentlemen, aye?” “just looking out for myself.” “smart. your buddy over there, i wonder how many packs he goes through.” you inhale the warm air, exhaling into the air. toji stared at your collarbones, his imagination running wild.
“he doesn’t give a shit about his health.” “who does? i mean, we are at bar.” you laugh. you heel bumped his leg. both of you ignored it, continuing your conversation.
after plenty more shots and many cigarettes, you two were interrupted by tojis cellphone. “sorry, have to answer this.” he shook his head. you waved him off, stretching your back. it was mostly hushed whispers. “i’ll be home in an hour, the latest, just make sure he goes to bed, alright? and tell him to put them up.” toji hung up the phone, shaking his head.
“what? your kids being bad or something?” you laughed jokingly. “yeah, little brats being bad.” he put his phone up. “wait, you have kids?”
oh, how he fucked up.
why would a young woman like you ever get with a man with kids? he wasn’t ashamed of them, he was afraid of scaring you away. looking like a whore.
“yeah, two. ones from my wife’s previous marriage.” “you have a wife?” god, he just couldn’t make it worse, could he? “sorry, i have a bad habit of calling her my wife. she passed away a couple years ago during my sons birth. just so used to calling her that.” he gave up, just spitting out the truth.
“oh, i’m sorry. i didn’t mean to overstep.” “no, i made it sound like i was an unfaithful man. i promise i’m not.” he mumbled. “it’s okay, i believe you. i know a lot of these men are cheaters. but you seem like an honest guy.” you gave him a smile.
“what are you waiting for?” you lean forward. “huh?” he snapped out of his trance. “show me those little shits! i wanna see!” you nudge his elbow. he felt a weight come off his chest. he scooted closer to you, opening his gallery. it was full of pictures of the two.
“this is tsumiki, and this is megumi.” “blessing.” you murmur. “yeah, i named him.” “he looks just like you.” you smile. “this is him on his first day of school.” he swiped to see a very snotty kid, looking like he could kick some ass. he swiped, showing megumi with a black and white dog. you recognized them. shikigami.
he was a sorcerer. toji kept rambling, assuming you had no idea what a curse was. or a sorcerer, or anything of that matter. you finally notice the man soften up.
“hey you two, time to wrap it up.” you hear a loud clap. shiu had his hand on tojis shoulder, pulling him off the stool. “oh, don’t be so cruel to the man.” you giggle. “it’s time for me to get goin, i promised those brats i’d be home earlier.” he helped you down from your chair. “hold on.” you dug in your purse, before pulling out a black pen.
you take his hand, feeling him stiffen. you wrote your number on the back of his hand, writing your full name under. he softened up after he watched what you were doing. you took his face, pressing a kiss on his cheek. “i’ll see you around, fushiguro. and tell those brats i said hey.” you waved at him, disappearing in the back.
“got yourself a date?” shiu teased. “yeah, i guess i do.”

My favorite characters are:
Satou; the protagonist who's so wrapped up in conspiracies (I'm pretty sure he has stimulant psychosis in the light novels) and an intense anxiety disorder that he hasn't left the house in several years. He literally just sits in his room, get too lost in his own head, and read porn all day. He's selfish and cowardly and cynical and perverted and naive but I always found him rather charming. I guess cus he embodied a reality about NEETs / Hikkikomori that you don't see too often in anime.
Yamazaki; if Satou is the more pathetic, self indulgent side of incel culture, Yamazaki is the more obnoxious and vitriolic side of it. He's openly misogynistic, prefering 2D girls, porn, and anime to real life due to the fact that he was bullied relentlessly as a child and experienced heartbreak once. He runs from his past, lies about his relationships both in and out of school, and avoids all responsibility when humanly possible. He's not as far gone as Satou, he still has a job and goes to school, so he's at least semi-regularly engaging with the public, and he has a genuine talent for video game design and directing, but that's still not saying much. The charm of this character to me was always his ambition and level-headedness in contrast to Satou's naivety and laziness.
Hitomi; arguably the most realistic character of the cast, considering she's not a crazy otaku or a porn addict. She's just a woman who looks down on herself despite having what most would describe as "a pretty nice life." However, she's looked down on herself since she was a teenager, is absorbed in conspiracies, lies about being abused to garner attention and sympathy from strangers on the internet (she has a boyfriend who adores and cares very deeply for her, but he's constantly dipping out to do business with his clients, leaving her alone a lot of the time), and, much like Satou in the light novels, has stimulant psychosis and spends a lot of time talking about conspiracies, and is partially responsible for the way Satou is now.
There are no good guys in the show, it's mostly just a lot of selfish people feeling hopelessly lost and bitter after leaving the organization and consistency that came with waking up and going to school every day as a teenager. It's a nice contrast to the usual cheery spiritedness of Shonen and Shoujo anime, but it ends on a nice enough note with all the character narratives being tied up under "life's not perfect, and suffering is inevitable, but right now? I'm cool with it."
One of my favorite arcs in anime is the second to last in the series. I'm not going to spoil it because it's so fucking good but it really speaks to the reality of a lot of American millennials over the age of 22 navigating Capitalism right now. I will leave it with this though: Sometimes Good People Are Forced To Do Shitty Things.
I'm really surprised Welcome to the NHK hasn't garnered more traction in the modern day. I know it's an old show, but it tackles everything from self isolation to the unhealthiness of escapism to porn addiction to manipulative relationships to substance abuse to alienation and desperation under capitalism. I would honestly go so far as to say it predicted the logic behind incels and gamer culture considering the two central male characters are dudes who avoid going outside at all costs and have very delusional and bleak outlooks on the world. Idk all very relevant to the world rn.

Gun Park One-Shot
Hello, hello everyone! Welcome to my first post on Tumblr!
I've been admiring all the lovely fan art/writing for quite some time now, and decided it's time I join. It's been quite a long time since I've written any fanfiction, let alone posted it. Please be kind with your criticism.
My current obsession is Gun Park from Lookism, so please enjoy!
I purposely didn't give the main character a description, so you can just imagine yourself in her place.
Luna has had a long, miserable week. Work has been crazy and home has been lonely without Gun. But he surprises her by returning home early and making up for the nights he’s been away.
18+, NSFW, smut. You have been warned. ;)
Today was not Luna’s day.
Well, to be precise, it hadn’t been her week.
After her boyfriend had left town for business, work had become inexplicably busy with impending deadlines, and late nights and early mornings had become the new norm.
Luna sighed, leaning back in her office chair, and peeking into the cubicles around her. Only a few of her co-workers remained, the others having finished their work hours ago.
The woman in the cubical to her right closed her laptop and began to stretch. “Thank goodness, that’s all over! I thought we might need to move into the office at this rate.” She let out a laugh. “My husband has been complaining about me not being home to cook his dinner.”
Luna smiled wearily, hitting send to submit her final report. “He’s a grown man, Hana. Tell him to cook his own food.”
“I’ve spoiled him too much.” She muttered. “Besides, he’s useless in the kitchen. The man could burn water if he really tried.” Hana dumped her phone and wallet into the black purse she pulled from under her desk. “Make sure you go home too, dear. Don’t stay any later than you must.”
“I won’t.”
With a wave, Hana walked away, heading for the exit. Luna didn’t blame Hana one bit for making a run for it after completing her work. It had been a terribly long week.
Mirroring her co-worker, Luna closed her laptop and gathered her belongings in the shoulder bag she carried before heading to the lobby. The building was so quiet, devoid of the usual hustle and bustle of a typical workday.
‘Do I go back home now, or should I go to the gym first? Maybe some exercise will take my mind off things.’
It was day five of her boyfriend being gone, and his presence had been sorely missed. Going to bed and waking up alone, coming home and eating dinner in silence…it was beginning to drive Luna mad. Anything would be better than going back to an empty home.
‘The gym it is.’
She stepped through the lobby entrance onto the sidewalk, heels clacking on the pavement. Raising her right hand, she went to flag down a taxi when she noticed a familiar black sedan parked a bit further up the sidewalk. The make and model was the same as one of the cars parked in the garage at home, and the license plate upon further inspection….
‘No way.’
The driver’s side door opened, and the very man she’d been longing to see stepped out. Dressed to impress, he wore a white suit with black dress shoes and a black button-up shirt underneath. His black hair was slicked back in its usual style, and the thick rimmed glasses he wore were perched on the bridge of his nose, hiding a lengthy scar that went across his nose and under his left eye.
Taking one last drag of his cigarette, he flicked it to the ground and walked toward Luna.
“Gun.” She whispered. “I-I thought you wouldn’t be here for a couple more days?”
Gun stopped merely inches from Luna and reached out to caress her cheek. She leaned into his hand, sighing happily at feeling his warmth.
A smirk spread across his lips. “You said you missed me every time I called. How could I not hurry back when my woman wanted me so badly?”
Luna tipped her gaze upwards, cheeks slightly flushed. “I didn’t mean to rush you. I know you do a lot for the Yamazaki family…”
“Business is done.” Gun stated. “There wasn’t any reason for me to stay longer than necessary.” Removing his hand from Luna’s cheek, Gun stepped over to the front passenger door and opened it. “Would you like to go home?”
The look in his eyes was mischievous, but she didn’t care. The word ‘home’ from his lips is all it took. “Yes.”
She hurriedly slid into the car and buckled as Gun came around and did the same. Their home was a good 15 to 20 minute ride from her work, but Luna had the feeling the ride would be over in the blink of an eye. As Gun pulled into traffic, he slid his right hand onto her thigh, fingers trailing down until they found the hem of her dress.
Her breath hitched as she felt his rough hands slowly slide the fabric upwards. Pushing back into the seat to keep composure, Luna glanced to her left. Gun’s smirk was still there as he kept his gaze ahead on the road.
Feeling his fingers massage her flesh, Luna was annoyed that she seemed to be the only one who was feeling flustered. Placing a hand on his, she gently pulled it further up her thigh, guiding it towards a more sensitive area.
That got the reaction she wanted. Gun’s pupils dilated, the mischievous look quickly turning to one of lust. His fingertips brushed against her core and Luna let out a soft moan.
“You’re teasing me.” His voice rumbled.
“You started it.”
Gun grunted. “I’ll finish it too.”
Luna turned to face him directly, copying the smirk that annoyed her so much. “I’m counting on it.”
She felt the car speed up.
In what felt like seconds, they arrived at home. Gun pulled the car back into the garage to park, and Luna quickly grabbed her bag and headed inside before Gun could interfere.
Too bad he was faster.
In the blink of an eye Luna felt herself being lifted as her bag fell to the ground. Gun had picked her up before she even made it into the house. Pushing her up against the side of the car, his lips crashed roughly on to hers. Luna wound her arms around his neck in defeat, knowing now that she’d been caught, there was no way to escape.
“You tried to run away?” He breathed in between heated kisses. “After what you said in the car?”
“Not run,” Luna panted, pushing her hands against his chest to break for air. “I just wanted to make it into the house before you attacked.” Their eyes locked, and as soon as Luna saw the intense desire on his face, she knew it was going to be a long night.
“That didn’t work.” Gun placed her down gently.
Luna scoffed. “No shit.”
Gun brought a hand under her chin and tilted it upwards, leaning in so their noses were touching. “Wait for me in the bedroom. I’ll bring the bags inside.”
Luna nodded, heading for the door once again. The garage entrance opened to a small entryway where she left her shoes before walking through the house. Not bothering to turn on any of the lights, Luna went straight to their bedroom as instructed. Knowing Gun might be a couple of minutes while he got his suitcase and her purse, she decided to freshen up a bit in the attached bathroom.
Luna took out her ponytail and removed the clips holding her hair in place before running her fingers through her hair to make it look decent. After a few minutes of playing with it, she was satisfied with how it looked.
‘Should I strip down to my underwear, or maybe change into some lingerie that Gun bought?’
Deciding on the lingerie, Luna stepped out of the bathroom to search her dresser, only to see Gun leaning in the bedroom doorway, his jacket and shirt missing, and a glass of alcohol in hand. He watched as Luna froze on the spot.
The room was quiet for a moment until he spoke. “Strip.”
“Wha-“ Luna started, confused.
Gun walked over to the bed and sat up against the pillows, making himself comfortable. He took a sip of his drink, eyes never leaving the woman in front of him. “Strip for me.” His voice was demanding and dripping with desire.
All thoughts ceased to function as Luna tried to figure out how to proceed. Normally, they couldn’t take their hands off each other, and things just happened. This time, it seemed like Gun had something specific in mind.
Taking a deep breath, Luna started with the cardigan she was wearing, slowly undoing the buttons before dropping it to the floor beside her. Next, she grasped the bottom edges of her dress and shimmied it up her figure, being sure to take her time revealing each curve of her body. As the dress joined the cardigan on the floor, she looked back to Gun. His gaze hadn’t moved, but she could see the visible effort he was putting into keeping his composure.
Feeling a little more confident, Luna reached behind her back and undid the clasp of her bra, making sure to keep eye contact with Gun as she did. The shoulder straps slid down her arms as the bra came off and fell to the floor. For the grand finale, she placed her hands on her stomach and slowly slid them down her stomach before reaching for her underwear. Hooking a finder under each side, she slid them down until they too joined the clothing pile.
Gun’s composure cracked a little as his grip on the glass tightened. Tossing his head back, he downed the last of his drink and set the cup down on one of the night tables next to the bed before sliding himself to the end of the bed. Feet on the floor and legs spread, he motioned with one finger for Luna. “Come here.”
She obeyed silently, stepping up to Gun. He reached out with both hands and placed them on either side of her face, pulling her in for a deep kiss tasting of bourbon. After a moment, he slid his hands down to her shoulders and began to push her downwards. Their kiss broke as Luna was brought to her knees. He kept his gaze on Luna, not wanting to miss a moment. “Pleasure me.”
Luna looked to the large bulge in his pants and gently touched it, running her fingers upwards to undo the zipper. She heard is breath hold in anticipation, and couldn’t help but draw out the moment. It had been five long days, and Luna knew very well he was in need of a release, just like she was.
After pulling down the zipper, his cock sprang free, having swelled too much for such tight confines. His member was huge, her fingers barely touching as she wrapped them around the base and began moving them up and down. Not satisfied with his unchanging reaction, Luna leaned forward and placed a light kiss on the tip, licking the drop of pre-cum that had beaded on top. That elicited a guttural groan from Gun. He began to run his fingers through her hair and pulled it away from her face. “Stop teasing me, or you’ll regret it.”
A moan escaped his lips as Luna took his throbbing cock into her mouth. Knowing he was way too big to take all of it, she slowly bobbed her head and sucked on the tip while pumping her fingers over the rest. Gun’s composure was slipping as the sound of heavy breathing reached her ears, making Luna hum in victory.
Her movements and teasing were quickly sending Gun over the edge. In an attempt to regain control, he grabbed ahold of Luna’s hair and pulled her back up for a kiss. After a couple minutes of sloppy, lust filled kissing, he grabbed ahold of her ass and picked her up off the floor, only to toss her onto the bed. Gun practically ripped off his remaining clothing before crawling up to the woman sprawled out before him.
Kneeling in between her legs, he spread them wider to get a better view. Gun reached up and grabbed Luna’s wrists, pulling them to hook under her knees. He leaned forward and traced his lips across her collar bone, making his way up to her neck. “Keep your legs spread for me. This is your punishment for teasing.” Leaving a trail of kisses and bite marks, Gun made his way back down before pausing above her wet core. Luna could feel his smirk. “You’re already soaking, and I’ve barely touched you.”
Without pause, Gun ran his tongue up her folds roughly. Luna’s back arched and she moaned loudly at the contact, after days of feeling deprived. This man’s touches were like a drug, and she needed it bad.
Gun continued to tease her clit with his tongue, just enough to feel good, but stopping any time he felt she was too close to an orgasm. Luna began to get desperate, and she let go of her legs to touch Gun’s face. “P-please- ah! Let me c-come!” Her chest was heaving, cheeks red as her body felt on fire.
Gun growled against her core, prying her hands from his face. He shoved them back against her legs and made eye contact. “Only if you do as I asked.”
Luna quickly grabbed ahold of her legs again, pulling them towards her body and spread apart. She could feel Gun’s approval as he went back to teasing her clit. “Good girl.”
Running his hands over the inside of her thighs, Gun brought one down to her core and began rubbing his thumb over her slick entrance. He quickly insert two fingers and thrust them into her heat until her legs began to tremble. He knew he found the sweet spot as soon as Luna let out a cry of pleasure, so Gun focused on hitting that spot while licking her clit until he felt her walls tighten around his fingers.
Luna writhed beneath Gun’s touch, unable to keep quiet as he knew where she was most sensitive. It wasn’t long before she felt that tension build up in her abdomen, begging to be released.
“N-uh, Gun, I c-can’t hold on much longer.” She begged. “Please.” His touches increased in intensity, as he felt Luna reaching her limit.
“Cum for me.”
With a loud cry, the tension in her abdomen let loose, and a tidal wave of pleasure washed over her. Luna let go of her legs and covered her face with her arms, panting for air. She felt Gun remove his fingers from her spasming core, and his lips trailed hot kisses up her body. He stopped to leave a couple of bite marks on her breasts before pulling back to survey his work. Satisfied, Gun moved Luna’s arms so he could get a good look at her.
Tears streaming down her face, Luna pouted. “You’re not fair.” She said in between pants.
Gun leaned in and nibbled on her ear, earning a soft moan. “I warned you I would finish things.”
Without warning, Gun thrust his cock into her, the soft moan turning into a deep cry of pleasure. Luna wrapped her arms around Gun’s neck as he began to trust uncontrollably, not even pausing for her to adjust to his massive size. The pain of the sudden stretch blended with the sweetness of pleasure, and Luna quickly found herself on the brink of another orgasm.
Gun adjusted his position, sliding his arms beneath her legs and tossing them over his shoulders. He leaned forward and latched on to one of her nipples, sucking roughly while he brought a hand up to massage the other breast. He swapped sides, wanting to give each equal attention before moving up to lock lips with Luna. Their kisses were filled with need and desire. Luna bit his lip, before giving in to the throes of pleasure as a second orgasm came crashing. She yelled Gun’s name, raking her fingers down his back and leaving red marks.
“Fill me.” She begged. “Please.”
Those words broke what little sanity Gun had left. He bucked his hips a few more times before grinding against Luna, releasing his load. Gun panted heavily, resting his forehead against her shoulder as he caught his breath.
When they were both trembling less, Luna pushed Gun’s face back up and gently placed kisses all over before coming back to his lips. He reciprocated, softly moving his lips against hers. They stopped to breathe, resting their foreheads against one another.
Luna gave a trembling laugh, still somewhat out of breath. “I love you, Gun.”
“I love you.” Gun smiled, placing another warm kiss on her lips.
“Do I get cuddles now?” She asked innocently.
Gun leaned back, a big smirk back on his face. His cock was back standing at attention, ready for another round.
“Who said I was done with you yet?” He teased. “We’re just getting started. Get on your knees.”
That’s when Luna realized she had maybe teased him a little too much.
Gun planned to finish things all. Night. Long.

If A Moment Is All We Are (Ch.1)
This is the Dazai x OC/”reader” with bits of Kunikida x OC/”reader” fic I created.
I’m just gonna post the entire text of first chapter below the cut bc even tho it’s at zero hits, I still feel there’s people out there who might want to read it...
OC is based off “The Story of Your Life” by Ted Chiang, the basis for the movie “Arrival” w Amy Adams.
Shout-out to @discoten for Beta-ing this first part :)
*************************************************************************
Pale gold. Rose red. Dusky purple.
My eyes traveled from one brightly colored glass panel to the next, finally landing upon the deep azure blue of the Virgin Mary’s veil. I kept my eyes trained on her face, trying to stay focused on the massive stained-glass windows, the beautiful art shining all around me, anything to pretend I was at this gallery under different circumstances. Shafts of colored light as bright as shattered gemstones danced across the floor in the late afternoon sun, flitting over the black-clad bodies of the two men who lay prone nearby, their silent forms looking unnaturally still against the vibrant carpet.
I swallowed uneasily, a familiar sort of nausea creeping up from the pit of my stomach as I watched the dark pool of liquid around them grow wider and wider, the smell of iron heavy in the air...
Squeezing my eyes shut momentarily, I wrenched my attention away from them, trying to go back to staring at the windows but found myself looking once again into a pair of steel-gray eyes. There, at the entrance of the gallery, standing so still he may was well be a statue himself, was the young man who’d slain the two security guards lying on the floor nearby. With his pale face, stark-white cravat, and torn black overcoat, he reminded me of a vampire, or maybe even a god of death—his very image called to mind a painting of the Grim Reaper I’d passed on my way into this room. If only I had heeded the warning...
If I had, then maybe I wouldn’t be staring into a pair of piercing red eyes right now—the eyes of a shadowy monster attached to the back of this man’s cloak. As if sensing my thoughts, the demonic creature bared its dagger-like fangs and growled, its bloody, gaping maw stretching wide.
I kept my hands in the air. My cold, sweaty palms trembled on either side of my face as I returned my attention to the stained-glass windows around me. I’d had my hands in the air for so long that my arms were getting tired but I couldn’t drop them—I didn’t want to think about what would happen next if I did. Then the headlines tomorrow would read: “Attack at the South Pier Art Gallery. Three dead: two curators and one visitor.” In perhaps a day or two, they’d identify my corpse as “Kusunoki Kyou, aged twenty, a college drop-out and local shut-in.” They wouldn’t be able to get a hold of my parents; they were overseas and I hadn’t seen the rest of my family in so long, I wasn’t even sure if they were still in Chiba any more. Maybe the reporters would interview one or two of my former classmates... But would they even be able to find anybody who still wanted to talk about me after I shut myself away so abruptly?
“Hey, how have you been? Akutagawa-kun?” the man behind me called out brightly, the lilting tenor of his voice jarring, given our current situation.
I kind of figured he was crazy from the moment we met, but not this crazy.
What kind of man tries to play catch up with a friend (acquaintance? I honestly had no idea how they knew each other) while holding a gun to somebody’s head—my head? Even though I couldn’t turn around to see his face, I could picture his cheerful smile, the twinkle in his intelligent brown eyes, the layers of bandages wrapped around his neck. I could practically hear the gears in his head turning behind me as he watched Akutagawa and calculated his next move, the tone of his voice giving absolutely nothing away.
There was a tiny click—the sound of the safety being shut off—and I grimaced as I felt the metallic chill of the handgun’s muzzle pressing more firmly against the back of my head. Akutagawa immediately shot a dirty glance over my head at the person holding me hostage. He spat out a single name:
“Dazai-san.”
I went back to staring at the windows.
I really shouldn’t have left my apartment this morning.
***
Ramen.
Instant ramen was the reason I decided to venture out of my glorified broom closet for the first time in probably weeks. Had I known that the craving for convenience store food would lead to my being shot to death in six hours’ time, I would’ve ignored the growling of my stomach and taken my chances with starving at home instead.
Maybe.
I’d stayed up far too late the night before binge-watching the latest season of a new anime I’d picked up and my best guess for when I’d finally fallen asleep at my computer was probably around three in the morning. When I finally woke up (sometime around noon), I had Pocky crumbs in my hair, my pajamas were sticking unpleasantly to my skin and my stomach was grumbling from the lack of real food in who knows how long. Unfortunately, my pantry was empty, so I did what any normal person in my situation would do: put off going outside for another couple hours by picking another anime to watch. I only realized I really needed to get going when I finally reached into my giant bag of snacks and found it empty.
Dread building in the pit of my stomach at the mere thought of going outside, I threw off the pink bunny pajamas that I hadn’t changed out of in a while and tossed them on the growing pile of clothes on the floor. I hadn’t done the laundry in weeks and it was anyone’s guess which pile was “clean” and which was “dirty” (I’d lost track of which was which days ago). However, I didn’t have a real need to distinguish between the two until today... I stepped into the bathroom, walking right past the tiny cracked mirror above the sink without really looking into it and pulled the shower curtain closed. I knew what I would see: a greasy, dead-eyed otaku version of the creepy girl from The Ring, with long black hair and reddish-brown eyes, only instead of a haunted child, I’d see an adult who failed to get her life together after just two years of moving out of her relatives’ house.
Half an hour later, I’d dressed myself in an old pair of jeans and a large sweatshirt emblazoned with the logo of a magical girl anime and was desperately fishing around in my kitchen drawer for the thing I needed most: a pair of gloves. I hadn’t needed to go outside in so long that I’d forgotten to stock up on nitrile gloves and it was with an enormous amount of relief that I finally retrieved an old pair at the bottom of the drawer.
I was too tired and hungry to notice the small hole in one of the gloves when I pulled them on, nor did I notice when I put on my face mask and tied up my hair. Honestly, I was just lucky the torn one didn’t rip completely away from my hand when I was putting on my shoes but maybe it would’ve been better if it did. Maybe then I wouldn’t have ended up at the art gallery...
But I wasn’t thinking about my gloves when I prepared for my short trip; I was thinking about food. After all, it was supposed to be a quick trip, just a short walk through the hallway and down the street to the nearest convenience store, then back. It honestly might not have been so bad if everything that happened after hadn’t gone so horribly wrong.
The first thing that went wrong happened the moment I stepped out of the building. Blinded by the sudden appearance of sunlight, I smacked right into an old lady walking in front of my building and immediately fell on my butt.
“Oh my, Kyou-chan!”
I groaned as I slowly got back to my feet.
“Is that you, Kyou-chan? Nobody’s seen you in weeks; it’s been so quiet on your end of the floor that we thought maybe you moved out!”
“No, I’m still here, Yamazaki-san,” I replied, recognizing the woman’s face before her voice.
Mrs. Yamazaki lived on the same floor as me and was kind of a busybody, but a caring one. The evening I’d first moved into the building, she’d knocked on my door around dinner time and asked if I knew how to play Mah-Jong. One of her friends had canceled on their group last minute and they’d needed a fourth. I’d declined as politely as I could but was still somehow dragged out of my room by the boisterous old woman and forcibly socialized over a cup of hot genmai-cha. I’d meant to return the favor by dropping by with some kind of snack in hand but never got around to it.
I could feel the guilt curling in the pit of my stomach as I took in her tiny form, her smiling face but all I could do was smile weakly as she remarked on how malnourished I looked and how long my hair had grown since she’d last seen me. Then she spotted the tote bag in my hand.
“Kyou-chan! Are you going shopping?”
“Not really, just getting some ramen at the convenience store.”
Mrs. Yamazaki’s eyes widened.
“Is that all you’ve been eating these days?” she asked, sounding concerned.
“N-no. I’ve had...”
I thought back to my box of strawberry Pocky.
“...Other things.”
She frowned.
“That won’t do,” she declared.
Without waiting for me to respond, she grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the nearest crosswalk.
“Yamazaki-san!” I tried to wrench my arm out of her grip but she was surprisingly strong for her age. Or maybe—I cringed—maybe I’d just become extremely weak after months of being a shut-in and not getting any proper exercise. Drawing commissions hardly worked the arms.
“This isn’t the way to the convenience store! Yamazaki-san!!”
Before long, we were inside an actual grocery, Mrs. Yamazaki chatting away merrily as she pulled vegetables off the shelves and tucked them away into her own basket (I’d run into her just as she was about to go anyway). Occasionally, she’d grab something green and leafy and stick it into the basket she’d forced into my hands, and she kept doing it until she’d buried the thick layer of ramen and junk food that lay at the bottom of the bag. When she was satisfied with the composition of my groceries, she nodded approvingly and hurried me towards the cash registers.
“There now,” she laughed once we were outside and I was carrying a very heavy bag of things I hadn’t actually intended to buy. “That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
She stepped off the sidewalk and two things happened very quickly: one, a truck ran a red light, barreling towards her as she attempted to cross the street, and two, as I dropped my groceries and rushed forward to save her, my right glove caught on something sticking out of my bag and finally ripped.
“Yamazaki-san!”
I reached out—my fingers stretched towards her.
“Look out!!”
Several onlookers screamed as I seized Mrs. Yamazaki by the back of her jacket and yanked her back. We fell to the ground, crashing down onto the sidewalk just as the truck sped through the intersection, honking madly as it flew by. Somebody behind us was yelling for the cops, several people had taken out their cell phones and as one of the grocery store employees rushed over to help us up, I felt an odd stinging sensation in my right hand.
I looked down and saw that my right glove had been completely shredded. Though I still had coverage on most of my fingers, much of the pale blue nitrile was hanging off my right hand in thin, ragged tatters and there were several long scratches on the palm of my hand from where I’d scraped it against the sidewalk when I fell.
The store employee, a stout, middle-aged man with bulky arms, helped a very shaken Mrs. Yamazaki to her feet, and though I could feel her trembling as she clung to me, I tried to shift my posture as she leaned on me. I couldn’t let her touch any part of my bare hand.
“Are you alright, ma’am?” the man from the store asked.
“Y-yes, I’m fine,” Mrs. Yamazaki answered, her voice quavering as she looked up at the man and then at me.
Tears sprang to her eyes and before I could stop her, she got down on her knees and bowed deeply, touching her forehead to the ground in gratitude.
“Y-Yamazaki-san?”
“Thank you!” she whispered, her voice cracking. “You saved my life, Kyou-chan!”
“Yamazaki-san, please,” I dropped to my knees as well and tried to help her up. “You don’t need to do that. Please, get up.”
As the store employee and I raised Mrs. Yamazaki to her feet, she chuckled, her eyes wide with wonder as she looked at me.
“And to think, if I hadn’t met you on your way out this morning, I might be...”
She shook her head slowly and I exchanged a worried glance with the man who’d come to help.
“I don’t know where I would be if you weren’t here, Kyou-chan,” Mrs. Yamazaki breathed. “From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
Though she seemed to be completely fine, with no broken bones or serious injuries, she continued to cling to me, and I felt her grip on my arm tighten as the employee informed her the police were on their way and we may want to stay to give a statement. Panic slowly rose in my chest as I felt my uncovered wrist coming out of my sleeve but as I carefully began to extricate myself from Mrs. Yamazaki’s grip, she suddenly turned to me and looked me up and down. She gasped.
“Oh, Kyou-chan!”
Her eyes had fallen upon my scratched palm.
“You’re bleeding!”
I yanked my hand away.
“I’m fine, ma’am.”
“Let me see it,” she demanded, grabbing my wrist. “I insist.”
As the store employee ran inside to get some band-aids, Mrs. Yamazaki gently picked up the edges of the ripped nitrile, pulling it away from my bloody, scratched-up palm, oblivious to my attempts to get away. As the glove gradually peeled away from my hand, I felt the warmth of her wrinkled skin brush against my fingers.
And then it happened.
The sound of canned laughter echoes throughout the room. Flickering green and white light casts odd shadows upon the walls. The cat-shaped clock above the television reads half past eleven in the middle of the night but there is another sound that is audible over the muffled noises from the TV. It beats in time with the clock and it sounds like something dripping, something liquid and warm.
Tick.
Tick.
T i ck.
The clock cat’s eyes shine with unnatural green light— light reflected from the television screen. They are blank , open, and staring, just like the eyes of the woman draped oddly over the side of the television set, her eyes wide with fear and shock.
Mrs. Yamazaki clutches at her chest. Blood dribbles thickly from between her fingers, her breath comes in wheezes and gurgled gasps as she slumps further and further down the side of her TV set. She leaves a bloody hand print on the side panel and falls to the ground.
Someone is laughing.
I am laughing.
The sound is deep, unfamiliar. There is a large, bloody kitchen knife held fast in my fingers, which are thick and hairy. I move my arm to check the wound Mrs. Yamazaki had inflicted on me and I see the vivid tattoo of a monstrous green snake, its fangs sinking deeply into a cracked human skull.
The television returns to its regularly scheduled programming. A time stamp appears in the upper right hand corner...
I came to, to the sound of somebody calling my name and immediately let out a sharp hiss of pain. While I was out, I had dropped to my knees, scuffing my jeans, and I could feel the thin skin over my kneecaps bruising horribly against the concrete sidewalk. Thankfully, that was all but my hands were shaking and I had a massive headache. Looking alarmed, Mrs. Yamazaki, not a single knife wound visible on her body, held my hand in both of hers with a troubled expression on her face. She had been the one calling me.
“Oh my goodness! Are you alright, Kyou-chan? You’re as white as a sheet.”
I immediately ripped my hand away and stuffed it into my pocket, just as the store employee returned with bandages. As he stuck out his hand to give me the bandages, I took a step back, shrinking away from the two of them.
“I’m fine.”
I stuffed my hand deeper into my pocket, ignoring the stickiness of the drying blood.
“Are you sure?” Mrs. Yamazaki asked, worry clouding her voice.
“I SAID I’M FINE!!”
That came out way louder than I’d meant it to. The people around me looked startled. I could hear the whispers. My Ability, “The Story of Your Life,” the curse of seeing visions of the future of those I touched, had manifested at the worst possible moment. I picked my bag off the sidewalk and ran.

Bookshelf Briefs 9/30/20
Accomplishments of the Duke’s Daughter, Vol. 6 | By Reai and Suki Umemiya | Seven Seas – Another series down to “once a year” release—I had to jog my memory at the start to recall what had been happening. Many things are going wrong for our heroine, who is trying to be strong and tough but is also starting to break down, and I felt that the scenes with her and Dean struck just the right balance of comforting and letting the heroine cry without making her seem weaker. This sets the stage for her comeback, which is extraordinary. (And also has a corrupt Church, a constant in Japanese light novels, though at least here there are also honest and good religious people in it.) That said, eventually Dean’s identity will come out, and I do wonder how this very good “villainess” isekai will handle it. – Sean Gaffney
The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Jack Flash and the Faerie Case Files, Vol. 1 | By Yu Godai, Mako Oikawa, and Kore Yamazaki | Seven Seas – A faerie switched at birth for a human child, Jack never fit in in either world. Only in the mortal realm could she earn money for anime collectibles, however, so she decided to make herself into a tough, capable woman like her literary heroes and set up shop as a detective. Together with her fellow changeling, Larry the werewolf, Jack takes on supernatural cases in New York City. In this volume, Lindel tasks them with tracking down a missing dragon egg. I liked the resources Jack uses to obtain information, which include a dapper theatre ghost and a spell with components of rat whiskers and taxi tires because “Nobody out there knows this city better than them.” I still found this a bit hard to get into, though, especially the parts involving a perpetually tearful off-off-off-off-Broadway actress and her pickpocket boyfriend. Still, I will check out volume two! – Michelle Smith
Black Clover, Vol. 22 | By Yuki Tabata | Viz Media – At long last, this interminable arc comes to an end. I enjoyed a lot of it, but I cannot deny it should have been about two volumes shorter. Most of the book is taken up by shonen battles, with the villain being nigh unkillable, the heroes almost breaking themselves to stop him, etc. Fortunately, the day is saved, and even the Wizard King turns out to be… sort of alive again? Shota fans should be happy. Asta fans perhaps less so—the sheer amount of damage done to the kingdom in this arc means someone has to be blamed, and give Asta has the “dark evil magic” it’s gonna be him, especially when he takes the incredibly obvious bait they use to get him to fight. Oh well, if Asta were smart, this wouldn’t be Black Clover. – Sean Gaffney
Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, Vol. 3 | By Nanashi | Vertical Comics – Part of the problem with titles like this and the other teasing works (Takagi-san less so as Nishikata doesn’t fall into the category) is that they are, at heart, the classic “extroverted girl acts overtly extroverted to bring introverted guy out of their shell,” and that’s not really a plot that feels comfortable in the Gen Z days, where you’re more likely to say “why doesn’t she just let him be in his quiet, safe space?” And by she I mean they, as Nagatoro’s two friends appear far more often here, which offers some good two-way teasing action, as they clearly see her crush on him, if not why. It’s still sort of hard to read, but if you pretend he’s more OK with it than he actually is, this is cute. – Sean Gaffney
Failed Princesses, Vol. 1 | By Ajiichi | Seven Seas – The concept of “popular girl meets unpopular girl” is a common one in yuri manga, and we do indeed hit several of its tropes in this first volume. The amusing thing is that Kanade, the shy outcast girl, is perfectly aware of how things are supposed to go, and keeps pulling back a bit to try to save Nanaki from, well, making herself an outcast by associating with the wrong people. The best part of the volume is that Nanaki really doesn’t give two shits about any of that, and seems set on making Kanade her best friend… and also making her over, which backfires a bit as Kanade cleans up nicely. I hear this gets a bit dramatic later, but for the moment it’s a cute and fluffy proto-yuri story. – Sean Gaffney
In/Spectre, Vol. 12 | By Kyo Shirodaira and Chashiba Katase | Kodansha Comics – The first story in this volume is another “Rikka tries to make people understand Kotoko is an evil Machiavellian schemer,” this time with one of her ex-classmates, but again the response seems to be “we know she’s a manipulative bitch, but she’s a good person anyway.” The larger story, which will continue into the next book, seems to be a chance to write Kuro and Kotoko as an actual romance, as the man we meet here and his relationship with a yuki-onna… as well as his penchant for attracting misfortune… very much parallel them. That said, they’re very cute together, which is why I hope he avoids the murder charge he’s now being investigated for. Still a favorite. – Sean Gaffney
Interviews with Monster Girls, Vol. 8 | By Petos | Kodansha Comics – The author knows what people want to see, but also knows that the best way to get readers is to drive them crazy by not showing it. We finally get what we’ve been begging for here, as Tetsuo asks Sakie out on a date. (This is after rejecting Kyouko’s love confession, both because she’s his student and also, as he is forced to admit, as he likes Sakie.) The stage is set for the date… and the rest of the book is thus spent with the three main student girls going to Kyouko’s for a fireworks viewing and meeting her family. They’re good chapters, and I really liked showing how difficult Kyouko has it as a dullahan in terms of everyday life, but GOD, please get back to the teachers, I beg you! – Sean Gaffney
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Vol. 16 | By Aka Akasaka | Viz Media – The series has gotten to the point where the more rewarding chapters are the ones as part of a larger arc. Not that the one-shot chapters are bad—though Maki’s journey to India may be the most pointless thing in this entire series to date, we do get Chika’s iconic “shut up or I’ll kill you” here. But the larger arcs, featuring Miyuki and Kaguya attempting to date without interruptions, and setting up Ishigami and Iino for a romance—though given the number of limbs broken in this book, and Iino’s own horrible lack of self-awareness, it may be a ways out—are better. This series is still hilarious, but we’ve come to read it more for the heartwarming moments. Heck, there’s even some serious drama here. Very good. – Sean Gaffney
Nineteen | By Ancco | Drawn & Quarterly – Although it was translated and released second in English, Nineteen is a precursor to Ancco’s internationally award-winning manhwa Bad Friends. The volume collects thirteen short comics originally published in Korea over a decade ago which absolutely remain relevant to today’s world. While understandably not as polished as some of Ancco’s later work—one can observe her style evolving and growing over the course of the collection (which is fascinating)—the comics still carry significant emotional weight and impact. Nineteen includes diary comics, which tend to be more lighthearted, as well as harder-hitting fictional stories, many of which also have autobiographical inspiration. As a whole, the collection explores themes of young adulthood, growing up, and complicated family relationships. In particular, there is a compelling focus on the relationships among daughters, mothers, and grandmothers. Some of the narratives can be rather bleak, but a resigned sense of humor threads through Nineteen, too. – Ash Brown
Ran the Peerless Beauty, Vol. 8 | By Ammitsu | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – Shoujo manga that has couples getting together BEFORE the end of the series is inevitably going to have an arc dealing with how far the lead couple should go now that they’re dating, and this is Ran’s turn, as she and Akira and their friends go to a beach house Ran’s family owns and have some beach fun. Unfortunately, the cast gets winnowed down one by one until it’s just the two of them… and her overprotective father, who arrives in time to provide the cliffhanger and no doubt ensure that nookie does not ensue. Not that I think it should—these two kids are even purer than the couple from Kimi ni Todoke, and I think they should mature a bit more before going further. Plus, watching them blush and kiss is wonderful. – Sean Gaffney
Spy x Family, Vol. 2 | By Tatsuya Endo | Viz Media – Having spent our first volume establishing that our found family can really come to love each other deep down, this volume shows off how they are also, at heart, fundamentally awkward and unable to socialize normally. This is unsurprising—hints of Loid’s life we’ve seen show him as a war orphan, Yor is a contract killer, and Anya basically grew up being experimented on by bad guys. As the school soon finds, this leads to issues. The second half of the book introduces Yor’s sister-obsessed little brother Yuri, who turns out to be a torture expert for Loid’s enemies. As always, half the fun is that everyone except Anya has no idea who their real selves are, and the cliffhanger tells us we’re in for some hilarious family fun. I love this. – Sean Gaffney
Spy x Family, Vol. 2 | By Tatsuya Endo | VIZ Media – After a brief spell atop the waiting list, Anya officially makes it into Eden Academy. Loid is anxious to progress to the next stage of his mission and, believing there’s not much chance in turning Anya into an elite scholar like his agency wants, focuses instead on having her befriend the younger son of his target. It does not go to plan, of course. Anya is very cute in this volume, and I also really appreciated how Loid genuinely listens to Yor and values her input. The arrival of Yor’s brother, a member of the secret police, is going to be a fun complication, and another cast member with a secret, but my favorite part of this series is probably always going to be how much love these three are already feeling for each other. So unique and good! – Michelle Smith
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, Vol. 6 | By Tomo Hirokawa, based on the story by Reki Kawahara | Yen Press – The weakness of this manga is the same as always—it’s written to tie into the games, and features several characters I just don’t recognize, which can be a problem given this is the big final let’s-save-the-world ending. That said, this is still a decent SAO title. Kirito gets to be cool and badass, but because this isn’t written just by Kawahara others do as well, and it’s a nice balanced effort that focuses on heroine Premiere. I also really liked the point where all the NPCs are worried when everyone has to log out for several days for maintenance. While I’ll still remember this as the “SAO only everyone is alive” manga, I enjoyed reading it, when I wasn’t confused. – Sean Gaffney

My Harem is Entirely Bad Boy Types (Kirisaki Daiichi x Reader) Pt. 2
Chapter Two: She Must Be A Cute Maid!
“Hey, don’t sit on the ladder! You’re supposed to be holding it” (Y/N) said holding tightly to the walls of the gym.
“My weight will keep it steady.” Furuhashi said squinting upwards watching like a hawk.
“Fine. Can you at least hand me the tape?” The young woman snapped her fingers to get him to pick up the pace.
“What are you guys doing out here?” Hara said walking up with his backpack slung over one shoulder.
“For the school festival they are going to be converting the gym into a haunted house. They asked (Y/N) if she could hang some decorations.” Furuhashi replied for (Y/N) who was busy getting her sign straight.
“Well, with the way you guys are, you could probably leave the sign up year round!” The girl said with a laugh.
Hara stepped back to slowly make out the sign.
“Abandon hope all ye who enter here? Oh ha ha.” Hara laughed sarcastically and scrutinized Furuhashi who was still staring up at (Y/N) intently. “What’s up with you?”
Not responding the blank eyed male simply shook his head and watched as another gust of wind blew through the air. His eyes narrowed as (Y/N) held down the back of her skirt.
“How hard is it to see up her skirt from this angle?” He mumbled more to himself than Hara.
Hara scoffed but couldn’t deny his eyes had wandered the second he noticed her up there. Her school uniform was too stiff to hope for any blow ups.
Both males were snapped out of it when (Y/N) turned around and sat on the top step of the ladder. Her legs were crossed tightly as she smirked down.
“I know you pervs have been trying to look up my skirt the whole time. Shows aren’t free you know?”
“Name your price I’ll write you a check.” Hara hollered up at her with a cocky look on his face.
“What if I don’t want money?” The young girl said uncrossing her legs but keeping them pressed together.
“What do you want?” Furuhashi asked with a smirk on his own face.
“Nothing you can give me.”
“Oh yeah try me.”
“Actually, only Hara can do it.” (Y/N) flashed him a knowing smile which instantly had the boy on the defensive.
“Hell no. You’ve been trying to convince me of this for a week and my answer is the same. HELL NO!!!”
“What? What does she want?”
“But you would make the cutest Undertaker! I even have the hair extensions your colour isn’t too far off!”
“I’m not wearing those long ass black nails and weird hat!”
“She just wants you to dress up?” Furuhashi asked confused.
“‘JUST’ wants? Would you put your dignity on the line and wear some stupid anime costume?”
“I’m so sexually frustrated by her at this point I would dress like Pikachu.”
“I’d like to believe I’m catching this out of context but if not, please keep your ‘furry’ tendencies to yourself.” Hanamiya said turning the corner with Yamazaki by his side. Taking notice of the sign (Y/N) had put up the captain smiled to himself. “Hey can we keep that after the stupid festival is over?”
Hearing this (Y/N) stuck her tongue out at Hara who returned the gesture. Getting to the bottom of the ladder she smoothed out her uniform and gave Hanamiya a big smile.
“Good morning Senpai!”
All boys halted their movements unsure if they’d heard properly.
“Since when do you call him Senpai?!” Yamazaki asked looking pretty red in the face.
“We’re all in the same grade even if he is older than you.” Furuhashi said glancing to Hara who was stifling a laugh.
“Plus he’s the shortest of all of us, hardly a senp-ugh” Hara was cut off from Hanamiya’s elbow making contact with his ribs.
“But he’s captain.” (Y/N) explained opening the door to walk into the gym. “I need to distinguish that som-”
A small gasp left her lips as her foot caught on the other and the young girl fell forward.
Yamazaki grimaced and tried to reach out a hand for her. Hanamiya rolled his eyes but stifled a laugh. And being the opportunists they were, Hara and Furuhashi quickly looked down and were almost satisfied to see her skirt had flipped completely up…almost.
“You were wearing shorts the whole time?!” Hara asked with a scoff.
“No that’s okay, I don’t need any goddamn help!” (Y/N) said tugging her skirt back down and standing up. Yamazaki was quick to her side examining her palms for cuts or potential bruises. “And of course I’m wearing shorts! You think I’m some naïve girl who doesn’t realize there are perverts like you around?”
Hara instantly recoiled at her snapping at him. Frowning, he all but shoved Yamazaki to get up in (Y/N)’s face.
“Me a pervert? You were gonna pimp yourself out to get me to cosplay!”
“I wasn’t going to follow through! I just figured you were as dumb as you look!”
“Don’t fight guys. I’m sure Mako hates hearing mommy and daddy fighting.” Hanamiya said sarcastically motioning to Seto who was sleeping with the robotic child on the other side of the gym.
“Say if you guys got divorced who gets to keep him?” Yamazaki asked teasingly.
“I would!” Both said quickly.
“What!? You didn’t even want to help take care of him!”
“Yeah well now that I’ve gotten to know you, no way would I leave him with your crazy ass!”
“You wouldn’t even know how to take care of a baby properly! You’ve never even kept him for a whole day, you wouldn’t know the first thing about being with him 24/7.”
“Bet I could.”
“Don’t do it.” Hanamiya whispered not subtly to Hara.
“Oh yeah? So we’re doing this?”
“Don’t.” The black-haired male warned again.
“I’ll keep him all week! No trade-offs, he stays with me the whole time!”
“Then deal!”
“Well I tried.” Hanamiya gave a resigning sigh.
“I can get him from you after the school festival, tomorrow.”
(Y/N) seemed to tense for a moment before coughing into her fist lightly.
“I’m actually not going to the festival.”
“What? Wait seriously?” Furuhashi asked looking suddenly interested in the change of conversation.
The whole team had made their ways into the gym by now and were waiting to hear an answer from (Y/N).
“Yeah it’s no big deal.”
“I thought your class was doing a cosplay café? That’s right up your alley.” Hara said sounding surprised.
“Here I thought you might even try to drag us along.” Hanamiya said neutrally though he was trying his hardest to read the girl.
“Haha yeah I’ve just been to a lot of these things. Tōō even had one not too long ago and I went with my ex. You’ve seen one you’ve seen em all. Besides I can cosplay any other time so all I’m really doing is helping put the costumes together.” (Y/N) shifted on her feet nervously before widening her eyes. “Which reminds me I promised I would help out this morning. Sorry senpai but I have to go! Hara just take Mako now okay?”
Before any of the guys could make further comments, she was running out the door.
“Wait you forgot your bag!” Seto called out for her but to no avail. None of the guys had even seen him sit up but watched as he slung his bag and hers over his shoulders. Walking up to Hara he placed the baby in his hands, who instantly started crying. “I’ll go give the bag to her.”
“NO wait I didn’t agree to take him yet! Bring Mako to her too!” Hara called out frantically but Seto ignored him all the way out the building.
Pulling a spare bottle from his backpack, Hara begrudgingly ‘fed’ the child getting it to quiet down.
“Ugh! Why does nothing ever work out for me? I was hoping she would try to drag us all along!” Yamazaki said crossing his arms in frustration.
“Why?” Furuhashi asked with a raised brow.
“Because I knew no matter how much she begged she would never get you guys to go! Then I could swoop in like ‘If it’s that important to you I guess I’ll go’ and she would be like ‘Yamazaki senpai do you really mean that?’” Yamazaki pitched his voice to sound higher causing the guys to cringe.
“If that’s the way (Y/N) sounds in your head then I’m surprised you still want her.” Hara said with a pop of his gum.
“Shut up! Besides I was hoping to see her in a cute cosplay!”
A sudden bolt of lightning went through the boy’s minds.
“She must be a maid!” All of them said in unison.
.
.
.
“What the fuck was that? I wasn’t the only one who thought that was weird right?” Hara asked shaking his head as if trying to get something out.
“Ignoring that possible supernatural occurrence, I still think we’re onto something here.” Hanamiya said wiggling his jaw to get over the shock as well. “There’s no way she’d miss something like this. It’s more likely that she just wanted us to think she wasn’t going.”
“Being a cute maid is the perfect cliché for an otaku like her!” Yamazaki said with a sudden epiphany.
“Well that makes sense to me. I guess I’ll be going to the festival.” Furuhashi said with a nod to himself.
“You guys are desperate.” Hara mumbled to himself, now burping the baby.
“We don’t all have hordes of concubines like you.” Hanamiya said scrolling through his own phone.
“Maybe you would if you didn’t say shit like ‘concubines’.” Hara quipped, once again receiving a big middle finger.
“Besides weren’t you just sexually harassing her a second ago?” Yamazaki questioned his lavender-haired friend.
“Honestly, some of you are one missed place touch away from a lawsuit.” Hanamiya made a slightly disgusted face at the horny antics of some of his teammates.
“Don’t blow things out of proportion, she knows I’m joking. Besides if she wants to do or show me things, I wouldn’t stop her but she’s nothing amazing.”
“I think she’s actually pretty interesting, even if we don’t really know much about her.” Furuhashi commented with a little thought. “Do you guys even know her family name?”
“No, why?” Hara asked with a questioning head shake.
“I’m just curious since she always has us call her buy her first name. It’s foreign isn’t it?”
“Yeah so? Some people think foreign names are cute or some shit. I’ve fucked like 12 Japanese girls with foreign names.”
“Do you think she’s half?” Yamazaki asked with a curious tone.
Hara rolled his eyes at his teammates obsessing over the girl. He figured their infatuation with her would wear off after she stopped being so new. But she’d already been with them for over a month and still nothing.
He was grateful that at least Hanamiya was still acting normal. Well…normal for him.
~~~~~
Furuhashi was too busy ignoring texts from his parents to realize his driver had already pulled up in front of him. It wasn’t until the older man stepped out of the car to open the door for him that he looked up.
“Sir, Ms. Furuhashi has requested I demand you stop ignoring her. She and your father have a dinner meeting they would like you to attend.”
“And these people happen to have a daughter my age correct?” The blank-faced male said with an almost non-existent role of his eyes.
“Well not exactly. She’s in middle school if I’m not mistaken.”
“Ugghh, neither mine nor her parents have a shred of human decency.”
“Shall we get going?” His driver asked with a look that said he clearly agreed even though he was paid to not have an opinion.
The brown-haired male almost nodded when he noticed a certain girl walking out of the corner of his eye. (Y/N) hoisted her backpack higher up on her shoulder before exiting the gate and walking in the direction of the train station.
Which was odd, to say the least. Students from Kirisaki Daiichi aren’t exactly the “take the train” type. And she had mentioned having a driver once before so why would she need to lie?
“You can head home. I think I’m going to take the train home.”
“The train, sir?”
“Yes, you can tell mother I ran off or something. I promise I’ll be at the estate before dinner.”
With that he took off after (Y/N), leaving the driver dumbfounded and at a loss for what to do. Being an athlete, it didn’t take him long to catch up to the girl who looked surprised to see him suddenly walking along beside her.
“Hey Furu, uhh what are you doing here?”
“Well I figured I’d take the train home with you.”
“Seriously? You taking the train? Why?”
“I guess I wanted to get to know you.”
(Y/N) sputtered a bit at his totally honest answer.
“Uhh oh, I guess that’s alright.”
Furuhashi couldn’t help but notice that she seemed a little uneasy. It concerned him, as she usually wasn’t this way. Quite the contrary, she was usually exuding confidence so to see her shelling up was a bit strange.
Still he made no comment as he followed her to the train station, he’d never been at before. Looking around, he was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of people there. Looking down he caught the team manager looking up at him with quirked brows.
“You’ve never taken the train before have you?”
“I have. We usually take it to games.”
“Okay, so which train will take you home?” (Y/N) asked with a slightly amused tone in her voice.
“Ummm…”
“Tell me your address and I’ll be sure you get home.”
Furuhashi felt a slight blush creep onto his cheeks from the idea of her escorting him home when it definitely was supposed to have been the other way around.
Before he knew it, he was sandwiched between her and some other high school guy all while trying not to panic from the sheer amount of people.
“You alright Furu?” (Y/N) asked looking up at him with big eyes.
He wished she wouldn’t do that. Stare up at her with such wide genuine eyes…it made him…want to hurt her. Some type of cute aggression or just his sadistic tendencies were surfacing hard.
But more than that, she really was an interesting anomaly. Her front was completely smushed into his, yet she seemed totally uninterested. Without sounding cocky, he had to admit he wasn’t used to that.
Most of the KiriDai girls wouldn’t pass up the opportunity for a chance with him. In fact, many all but threw themselves at him, something the rest of the team slightly resented. It wasn’t that he had a great personality or had model looks compared to the rest.
Rather he was just one of the better looking “definite heirs”. Many other sons from these families had brothers or cousins to go up against for their inheritance. But him, being both the oldest and only male child, it was always clear he’d get the bulk of wealth from his family.
Most of the girls he went to school with could sniff that out on him like sharks to chum. It got him a lot of attention that he learned to politely yet uninterestedly return. But (Y/N) never seemed to care one way or another.
It could be that she didn’t know. She was originally from Tōō, after all and didn’t seem to know much about anyone’s connections, even within the basketball club. And to be fair, none of them knew her lineage either.
“What’s your last name?” He found himself blurting out from the sudden thought. The girl looked surprised again but didn’t take long to mull it over.
“(L/N).”
“So, I was right, you are half.”
(Y/N) seemed almost a bit offended by the comment causing Furuhashi to add on to his comment.
“More and more people are these days. Seto is too.”
“Yeah I know.”
“You do? How? He doesn’t really like people to know.”
“Then kind of shitty of you to tell me huh?” (Y/N) replied in a clipped voice before shaking off the annoyed look on her face. “Sorry, you’ve been his friend longer than I have, it’s just a sensitive topic personally. But he mentioned it to me once.”
“When?”
“Umm I don’t know, sometime before practice I think.”
“Huh.” Furuhashi mulled over her averted eyes and answer, recalling a very similar response from said male not too long ago.
How much did those two talk when nobody else was around? Zaki probably wouldn’t be too happy to find out about that. Not that it would mean anything if they did talk. Seto isn’t the type to hit on anyone and he’s even less of the type to be hit on.
A sudden scream drew him from his thoughts as few others looked down the train to see a young girl swatting at the guy behind her. Flicking his eyes to (Y/N) he noticed the instant look of disgust across her face as the train stopped and the highschooler went bolting out.
Nobody else said anything and some hadn’t even looked up at the sound of distress. If she wasn’t uncomfortable before, now (Y/N) looked ten times more tense as she crossed her arms over her chest and stood a little further back from him.
He wanted to ask her what just happened but figured he would just stay quiet until they were off the train. The ride was long and awkwardly silent. Furuhashi had gotten into this situation in the first place because he wanted to find out more about her.
He couldn’t help but wonder if she would be a candidate for him. Maybe if he was the one to bring forth the suggestion to his family, he wouldn’t feel so powerless in this whole situation.
Not that it had anything to do with her in particular but this mystery girl so far seemed to be the one private aspect his family hadn’t picked up on yet, much like the rest of the basketball team they weren’t aware he was even on.
“Hey come on, we’re getting off here.”
Furuhashi snapped out of his thoughts and looked outside the doors of the train. He didn’t recognize the station but to be perfectly honest he really wouldn’t have a reason to. Yet even stepping out he didn’t have much clue where he was.
“What you think the train would just drop you off directly in front of your house? We got a little walking to do.”
He followed after the girl like a lost puppy, simply taking her directions and not speaking a word the entire time. Furuhashi found himself strangely content with the situation. Regardless of their lack of conversation he was learning more about her just by being with her.
For starters, he’d never heard the name (L/N) in regard to wealth but it could be a big deal overseas. Besides that, the tuition for Kirisaki Daiichi was ridiculously expensive and clearly she had a enough to make a last minute transfer in from Tōō.
“Why did you transfer?” These questions were just running out his mouth the moment they popped into his head at this point.
(Y/N), who had been furiously typing away on her phone broke concentration long enough to look up at him with a small grin.
“You’re very talkative when you’re not with the other guys.”
Dead eyes bore through her with no comment.
“Hmm well I guess originally I didn’t care where I went. Tōō had dorms and I thought that was pretty cool so I figured I’d head there. I guess you could say I started to have some problems with people and I started to look for a new school.”
Furuhashi nodded along as he listened to her story. From the sounds of it she must have been bullied or treated pretty badly to make her want to transfer.
“I was already narrowing my applications down but that’s when I met my boyfriend. He was doing some early basketball training and well regardless of the grade gap we really hit it off. He convinced me to stay, to do it for him. He told me ‘screw everyone, be where you’re happy’! And for a while that was with him but then I started thinking about my future and what my ultimate goal was. For that I needed connections and what better place than the school for the wealthy and powerful?”
“So, you do care about that sort of thing?”
“From a business stand point I have to at least consider it. In a personal sense I won’t pretend to be your friend or be romantically inclined to someone just because they have money or power. My ex didn’t have much, he wasn’t poor or anything but ya know it didn’t matter to me.”
“What about you?”
“Hmm?”
“What is your social status? What sort of work does your family do?”
“Nursing.”
Furuhashi waited for her to say more. Like they owned a hospital or some million dollar nursing company. Really anything but that was where she was ending the topic.
“Nursing is a difficult career and a very important one.”
“Yeah it really is.”
Once again the conversation dropped off and the young man couldn’t understand where he was going wrong with her. He’d been looking her up and down since he’d caught up to her back at school. Her body movement seemed closed off and every so often when he would try to move closer so that their bodies would touch in anyway she adjusted herself just a little further away.
“Why are you acting so differently from how you do at school?”
(Y/N) clearly shifted uncomfortably. Furuhashi stared at her chest that had stopped rising and falling, noticing she was holding her breath. He was snapped out of it by her arms crossing over her breasts and clearing her throat.
“I just…I know you were joking earlier. But when you followed me and you keep looking a-”
Though he was the one who asked the question, Furuhashi was completely tuned out as he squinted at the approaching car down the road. Instantly recognizing it, he mentally cursed before looking around and dragging (Y/N) into the closest alley he could.
With one hand over her mouth, he pinned her to the side of the building with his weight and pressed into her in hopes of hiding them both in the shadows. While he had been staring into her eyes, he cast a glance to the side to see if the familiar car had already passed.
“Shit!” He yelped out, pulling his wounded hand away from (Y/N)’s mouth. Though she was clearly shaken, the girl was in a fighting stance as she eyed her teammate up and down.
“I know I talk about being an anime protagonist but I’m not okay with the sexual assault tropes.”
“What? No, I would never do that.”
“I don’t mind you joking about it with Hara or playing around. But you’ve been staring at me since you followed me on the train. And right now, what the hell was that exactly?”
“Just relax, I’m not trying to hurt you. I followed you because I want to get to know you, I don’t really get a chance to talk to you during the day. The staring…no good excuse for that, I need to work on it. And I only pulled you in here because my mom has my driver out looking for me.”
“What why?”
“I was supposed to accompany my parents to some business dinner, but I wanted to be with you instead. And I needed to hide you because I don’t want them finding out about you and ruining anything. They don’t know you exist so for now you’re something that’s only mine.”
He could clearly still see an uncomfortable look on the girl’s face and continued to elaborate.
“My parents control every aspect of my life. They tell me what I should wear, what classes to take, and which people I should be friends with. Basketball and you are something they can’t touch.”
“Your parents don’t know you’re in basketball?” (Y/N) said completely dropping her fighting aura in exchange for a saddened one.
“No, they would either find it to be a waste of time or push me so hard to be the best that I wouldn’t even enjoy it anymore. I’m actually sorry I’ve been so weird today.”
“I’ve just learned, the hard way, that anyone can hurt you. They can be friends like you and me or strangers like that guy groping the girl on the train.”
So that was what happened. Furuhashi mused silently in his mind over what she said.
“You’d consider us friends?”
“I consider all the guys on the team to be my friend. Whether or not they return the sentiment is irrelevant. And umm I’m sorry I bit you.”
The brown-haired male looked down at his palm and chuckled at the red teeth indentions.
“Haha at least you know now that I don’t take shit lying down!” (Y/N) said laughing into her own palm. “That must have been a different experience for you. Most girls at KiriDai would have been all over that situation. Being the only male heir to your family’s multimillion-dollar company must mean that I’m the first girl to have turned down a proposition that hard for you.”
He blinked several times, wondering if he had actually been saying absolutely everything he thought about, on the train, aloud.
“Don’t look so surprised. I told you I came here to make connections, of course I’d know the big names and their kids. But uhh don’t worry about me only being friends with you for your money or anything like that.”
“Oh no, I’m sure if you wanted that you wouldn’t have sunk your teeth so deeply into my flesh.”
“True. Come on, your place is just five minutes away. I’m really late and the person waiting on me is probably gonna be pissed.” (Y/N) said taking his uninjured hand and pulling him along. “And now that we’ve discussed it, I give you my consent.”
“Consent?”
“To flirt! It’s pretty fun playing around with you! If I ever get uncomfortable, I’ll let you know! And you do the same, kay? Plus, if you ever go too far, well you’ve seen a fraction of what I’m willing to do!”
Furuhashi looked at the girl’s strangely innocent smile and clenched his fist, feeling the throbbing in his palm. He gave her a small smile back before nodding.
“You really are pretty tough. No wonder you’re fitting right into the team so well.”
~~~~~
“You look like complete shit.” Furuhashi remarked with what could almost be described as a look of concern. “And I thought you weren’t coming today.”
“I fucking quit, man! I’m taking the L on this one and giving her back this hell spawn.” Hara said, practically shaking while he rocked the sleeping doll hoping the loud noise of the cultural festival wouldn’t wake him.
“This little shit cried all night and the baby was making a fuss too.” Hanamiya said coming up behind Hara, looking almost as tired.
“Did you help him?” Yamazaki asked with a surprised look in his eye.
“Not like I had a choice. He calls me at 10pm, crying like a little bitch that he cant get Mako to sleep and says he needs to come over. I said fuck that and I’d meet him at the school then head to his place.”
“He barely stopped crying this morning!” Hara said looking pretty demented from what had to have been a long night. “Let’s just find (Y/N), gawk at her in the Meid outfit and give this thing back.”
“Did we ever let Seto know about our plan?” Furuhashi asked finally noticing their missing teammate.
“I don’t think he came to school today, I didn’t see him in class.” Hanamiya commented looking more and more frustrated by the amount of people at the festival.
“Well his loss! Let’s go find her class’s cosplay café!” Yamazaki said with a determined voice, trotting forward.
The guys followed behind him while Furuhashi mused something over in his mind. He’d already figured what he was thinking but was willing to let Yamazaki have his fun.
“Ahh he’s crying again! Where the hell is Seto when I need him? He’s great with Mako!” Hara’s voice pierced the crowd as the robotic child he was holding began whimpering.
“What seriously, you’re gonna let another man be the father to your son?” Hanamiya asked sarcastically.
“Fuck all that! He can have my son and my bitchy baby mama too!”
“I’ll take them!”
“Geez Zaki hop off her dick already.” Hara said with an eyeroll. Before he could do anymore to soothe the baby, the orange haired male was scooping him up from his hands and trying to comfort him.
It was no surprise that Mako only began to scream louder as the energetic male wasn’t even holding him properly. Quickly regretting the decision, he shoved the baby into Hanamiya’s arms who looked so done at this point everyone was sure he would drop him like nothing.
Taking quick action Furuhashi grabbed the mechanic infant and flipped it on its stomach. A few fidgets later and the baby was no longer making a peep.
“What did you do?!” Hara asked excitedly now that his ‘child’ was quiet as a mouse.
“I just moved some wires around to shut off the audio. He shouldn’t make any more noise now.”
“Hah that bitch can suck it! Winning this bet will be so easy now! I know your whole family works with tech, I don’t know why I didn’t ask you before!”
“Isn’t that cheating?” Yamazaki asked condescendingly.
“Seriously? This team was created off the idea of cheating!”
“Ain’t cheating if the ref doesn’t catch it. Now are we gonna go find (Y/N) or what?” Hanamiya asked impatiently. Unlike Yamazaki, he didn’t find himself lusting after the idea of her in a skimpy cosplay but more so saw this as the perfect blackmail opportunity.
~~~~~
“What do you mean she’s not here?” Yamazaki practically shouted, clearly scaring a girl in an attack on titan cosplay.
“You’re talking about that gaijin from Tōō right? Yeah she helped us put all the costumes together but she never signed up to actually wait tables. She doesn’t really talk to anyone, so I don’t think any of us know where she is.”
“Goddammit! So then it was actually true? She really just didn’t want to come to the festival?” Yamazaki cried out turning to his teammates in disbelief.
“Huh I was pretty sure she was hiding something.” Hanamiya contemplated with a little shrug.
“I don’t think it’s her who wanted to hide.” Furuhashi spoke up finally ready to voice his theory.
“Whatdaya mean?” Yamazaki asked perking up slightly.
“Don’t she and Seto have a strange closeness despite them rarely talking during practice?”
“What would make you think that?”
“Seto knew before all of us about her singing, they always seem to be alone together before practice starts, he took off after her yesterday and never came back, plus both of them were gone today. On top of all that she knew some personal facts about Seto and I’m pretty sure she was planning on meeting him before I decided to take the train with her.”
“You took the train with her!? No way, did you walk her home?! And are you trying to say that (Y/N) and Seto are dating?!” Yamazaki asked looking totally betrayed.
“She walked me home. And I’m not saying they’re dating, I have a different idea. Do you remember that one time we got to practice a little early? What did we catch Seto doing?”
“Playing his weird little guitar thingy.” Yamazaki said with a blank face, nothing quite clicking yet.
“Hell yeah I’m gonna get my blackmail after all, just on a different person.” Hanamiya said with a grin before making his way out the room.
~~~~~
“Why the hell can’t we sit down, instead of hiding back here like creeps?” Hara complained not even attempting to try and see the stage from where they were standing.
“Because if Seto sees us before he goes up there then he won’t do it.” Hanamiya said looking over the open mic roster once more. (Y/N) and Seto should be up after this group dance was over.
“Wahhhh no fair no fair no fair! Why did (Y/N) ask Seto to perform with her?” Yamazaki said with a very unhappy pout.
“I know I’m clearly the most musically talented member on the team.” Hara interjected throwing his hand up in a ‘wtf’ motion.
“You wouldn’t have agreed to it!”
“This attention whore? Yeah he would have.” Hanamiya snorted. “Oh shit there they are! Come on, now we can go sit close while he’s distracted.”
The team moved quickly and quietly through the rows of chairs and tried to sit as close as they could without being noticed. They watched as (Y/N) adjusted her microphone and pulled her bar stool closer to Seto, who was tuning his ukulele.
The guys noticed that Seto must have been nervous as he never took his eyes off either his instrument, the floor, or (Y/N).
“I can’t believe he’s actually gonna do it.” Hara whispered as (Y/N) gave a nod to Seto who began strumming a beachy tune.
The girl seemed to really feel the music before turning to look at Seto deeply and began singing.
Driving to Hawaii, Surfing down the street.
Dreaming of these places I may never see.
Regardless of the prior warning, the team was gob smacked to hear how good she actually sounded. Hanamiya never handed out compliments and it wasn’t gonna start today but she was undoubtedly damn good.
Baby, if we get there things will be much easier and life won’t be nothing anymore.
Oh babe when we’re together there’s always such nice weather.
Yes we don’t need these places anyway.
Seto, gaining just a bit of courage, attempted to look up at the audience. He was surprised as a small hand was placed on his cheek turning him to face the singing girl instead.
The crowd went wild at the affectionate display, but three heads in particular snapped to Yamazaki to gauge his reaction. Surprisingly, it was pretty neutral as he continued to listen to the music.
We’ll strum out and be picking our guitars
We’ll drink all day and sing under the stars
How magically simple our life could be.
In fact, Hara almost looked more unhappy as he crossed his arms.
“Ehh I guess Seto is pretty good at the ukulele, but I can play the guitar much better so-”
Driving to Tahiti, let’s take off your bikini.
Jump in something warmer, fall asleep together.
“But you can’t sing like that.” Furuhashi retorted with an even blanker stare than usual.
None of the team knew Seto could sing, let alone sing this well. The tan male put all his efforts in singing as he passed his ukulele to (Y/N) who continued the melody.
“Holy shit, he’s good like actually good.” Hanamiya snickered to himself as he recorded his teammate, who still seemed oblivious to their presence.
“Not surprising, considering his parents and genetics.” Furuhashi retorted, still looking pretty impressed.
Baby when its all done we can grow our hair long.
And life won’t be nothing anymore.
Seto was looking at his partner as if he’d been the one to write the song and she was the one he wrote it for. The boys noticed Zaki bristle as Seto took a lock of (Y/N)’s hair and tucked it behind her ear.
Well babe when we’re together, there’s always such nice weather
Guess we don’t need these places anyway.
Driving to Hawaii, Surfing down the street
The two finished off the song singing in harmony before taking a few final strums and ending it. The applause for the two was heavy, almost verging on annoyingly so.
And that’s when tired eyes met with his team, a soft curse fell from his lips as the guys smirked at him. (Y/N) gave a disapproving pout before ushering Seto off the stage and to them.
“How cute, a little duet between lovers,” Hanamiya mocked pulling his phone away from Seto who tried to take a swipe at it.
“We were just singing together, as friends. I assumed you’d figure it all out eventually, actually I’m surprised it took you this long.”
The dark-haired male’s smirk slipped down a bit. He hadn’t figured it out at all, Furu had. He didn’t like that fact but also understood it. Furuhashi had been on a mission to find out more about (Y/N).
Hanamiya on the other hand…he wanted to know as little about her as possible and vice versa.
“I’ve told you in the past that I play a ton of different instruments, why didn’t you ask me to perform with you?” Hara asked, his ego clearly having taken a huge hit.
“Well I didn’t think you’d agree. You practically hate me, so I figured there was no way you’d do this for me.”
“Stop blowing things out of proportion, I don’t hate you. I want to get my music out there and your voice would have been perfect for the original songs I write. So next time ask!”
“On that note, how did (Y/N) convince you, of all people, to do this?” Furuhashi asked his teammate who had yet to stop casting glances off at the girl.
“She just asked.” Seto replied with a shrug.
“Yeah if I realized he was gonna say yes so quickly I wouldn’t have started off begging him so hard. I heard him playing that ukulele before practice and oh my god! Then his voice!? Literal angel bells, if he wanted to he could be famous with a set of pipes like that.”
The whole team saw it right there, one red-head in particular taking immediate notice. The way Seto finally looked away from her and a slight blotch of colour burned on his face, maybe it should have been obvious why he said yes.
“Ms. (L/N)! Mr. Hara!” The whole team looked up to see the health teacher marching up to the group with a purpose. Spotting the mechanic infant in Hara’s hands, their scolding face quickly slipped into one of understanding. “Ahh I see! The monitors were showing this infant had been crying for nearly an hour straight with no comforting attempts. But seeing as its silent, it could possibly an internal bug! Both of you come with me so we can get this fixed up.”
“Hopefully we can get it fixed, Mako was supposed to stay with daddy this weekend.” (Y/N) directed a knowing smile at Hara, who threw his head back and followed along begrudgingly.
The rest of the guys stood around watching the trio head off into the school.
“Ehh it was a good show. (Y/N) sang like a pro but I didn’t get the song. You can’t drive to Hawaii.” Yamazaki said, finally speaking up since the performance.
“Well yeah, that’s the point of the song. It’s about dreaming of the impossible.”
“Kind of like you dreaming you have a chance with (Y/N)?”
All the guys sort of froze at the cold tone in Yamazaki’s voice. Seto put on a convincingly confused face.
“We all saw the way you were looking at her. Just know that I do like her and I wont give her up without a fight.”
“Zaki, I think you’re taking this too seriously. (Y/N)’s cute, I admit that but that’s why… Look, you know I would never go for a girl like her, it just wouldn’t work out. Guys like me don’t date girls like her.”
“That’s what you say now! But I will get her first!”
“I don’t think either of you have a chance getting (Y/N)’s attention.” Hanamiya scoffed at the situation.
“Oh and like you would?” Yamazaki shot back with a furrowed brow.
“Umm yeah. She’s clearly still stuck on her ex. Aesthetically speaking, I look most similar. Evidentially she likes manipulative assholes and umm…” Hanamiya gestured to himself. “IF I wanted her, I could have her.”
“I didn’t lose the fucking bet!”
Four heads snapped up to see Hara and (Y/N) making their way back without Mako.
“Having someone shut off the audio for our baby is cheating and proves that you couldn’t even take care of him for 24 hours let alone the week. You’re lucky the teacher is sending him out to be fixed and if they find evidence of tampering, I’m throwing you under the bus!”
“Fine so you win and when we get Mako back you can take him.”
“Hell no, we said a week and that means regardless of this technicality you still get to keep our son for some daddy-baby bonding.”
“Whatever and stop referring to me as ‘daddy’ unless you’re gonna say it with a sexy voice.”
The two were finally right in front of the rest of the team and quickly took notice of the weird tenseness.
“Uhh what’d we miss?” Hara asked popping his gum rapidly.
“Hey, you were saying the other day that you needed help with chemistry, right?” Hanamiya suddenly asked (Y/N) off topic.
“Umm yeah. My grade is decent but not where I want it to be.” (Y/N) said cautiously, as if waiting for some mean sarcastic remark from her captain.
“On Sunday, lets meet up somewhere and study.”
“Really?! Okay! Here let me give you my number!” (Y/N) said quickly and enthusiastically as she typed her number into his phone.
All the guys gave Hanamiya a certain look he was all too familiar with, but the male simply shrugged his shoulder with a small smirk.

Now Saito's telling Okita to stop being a prick and Okita's response is, "hehe." X_X
Casual suicide jokes... Reminds me of my friends at uni X_X
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE 8O I can't see how this could possibly backfire...
OMG Kondou describing not recognising a girl as "The shame of a lifetime!" XD
"Maybe it's time you spilled your guts, kid." Is he... Is he telling me to commit seppuku?! O_O "I looked at him and nodded." GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD.
Although, with Harada threatening to strip me, suicide doesn't look like such a bad option X_X Tell me, Inoue, WHERE ARE THESE GENTLEMEN YOU WERE TELLING ME ABOUT?!
Feminist Hijikata wants to kill me regardless of gender :') We stan a woke queen.
Feminist icon Sanan also thinks that gender is irrelevant but doesn't want to kill me because THEIR JOB IS LITERALLY TO PROTECT PEOPLE.
You search so hard for Kodo and he turns out to be such a treacherous snake :'(
Bad feminist Hijikata calls the Shinsengumi "sons of bitches" for feeding me to him as his page. The Shinsengumi are strong, independent bitches in their own right.
Escaping execution but being quietly upset about having to wear ugly boy clothes for the foreseeable future is a mood.
More of Hijikata threatening to cut off Okita's tongue, please!
What does Chizuru have against afternoon drinking :P Clearly she has never enjoyed a long glass of Pimm's on a warm Summer afternoon! I guess she is pretty young...
Hijikata isn't here so can I please sneak out with you guys instead of staring at the wall all day?
Reeeeeeally want to pick the yes to dressing like a girl option but apparently that's not what Daddy Nonce wants :( HE'S NOT EVEN SHOWN UP YET AND HE'S ALREADY RUINING MY FUN! >:(
Well, now we're literally running away from Nagakura and Inoue. I'm getting High School flashbacks.
Wait, why is Heisuke being weird about Saito being in my room? Did this happen last time too? Maybe I just forgot or maybe it's because I was hanging out with Heisuke and Harada before...
This dinner is terrifying.
Survival of the fittest? More like survival of the FATTEST! Amirite? Anyone? No? I'll stop.
Takeda admittedly has a point about you not earning your place in the Shinsengumi. And he has great hair. So I can almost forgive him for being a mega bitch.
"His swordsmanship is decent, BUT he is well read and possesses a cunning mind for military science." Not sure if a translation error or Hijikata just hates nerds?!
Does accompanying Hijikata as his page get me bonus Kazama Sexy Points purely because it pisses Hijikata off?
Chizuru once again being in mortal peril but getting distracted by Iba's beautiful face is relatable af.
"Takeda huffed smugly to himself and WADDLED out of the store." What a majestic image we have been blessed with :') The bitchiest penguin ever to waddle this Earth!
Iba happily munching his bean jelly is a MOOD.
Chapter 2
Okita telling you that you're here to keep him company on his rounds is exactly the kind of bullshit that I'd expect from him X_X
Guess I'm just running into a battle...
Oh, it's Kazama. Sitting on the windowsill like the edgy bastard he is.
Aaaand he just killed a guy on his own side. Classic edgelord move.
And apparently I have to thank him for this display if I want him to be my waifu.
Seemingly, Chizuru is thirsty for this slut and is being REALLY FRICKING OBVIOUS ABOUT IT X_X
OH HE DID NOT JUST CALL ME THE SHINSENGUMI'S BITCH. Although, it is somewhat accurate XD STILL A DICK MOVE AFTER I THANKED HIM SO NICELY, THOUGH.
AND HE SAYS THAT I HAVE MANNERS, BUT WHERE ARE YOUR FREAKING MANNERS, YOU EDGY THOT?!!!
I have a feeling that a lot of this will be typed in caps from now on -_-
Oooh he winked! I cannot handle this intense eroticism!
Surprise Saito! My favourite flavour of surprise (see, "Shinsengumi's bitch")!
The Shinsengumi are grateful for my efforts and, thus, have gifted me with the great gift of sweeping <3
Hijikata and Iba are so cute <3
Kazama's being edgy again X_X and murdering people. Classic Kazama.
Oh wow, he's actually calling us peasants.
Aw, we're talented peasants <3 How generous of him!
HOW DARE HE TRASH TALK OKITA LIKE THAT! Wow, I'm actually defending that asshole X_X
Hijikata baring his teeth like an angry doggo XD
I'm super mad at Kazama for killing that poor Shinsengumi guy :'( Such a thoughtless waste of life :'(
Now he's mocking Nagakura's obedience to the Shogun. What are your lofty ideals, Kazama? Ah yes, you want to subjugate and enslave the human race. How... noble...
Okay, so, apparently, Kazama is being a huge, murderous pain in the ass because he's just OH SO CONCERNED for the pride of his human allies. I don't buy it.
Ah, Hijikata called Kazama a petulant child :') Truer words were never spoken!
Okay, now Hijikata is saying that they don't deserve an honourable death?! Wow, Hijikata. That comment is not going to age well, I can tell you.
So maybe I agree with Kazama here!? He still shouldn't have murdered that guy, though.
I seriously don't understand why Hijikata is so keen to slaughter these guys and potentially lose more of his men just to force them to suffer a shameful death?! Maybe he doesn't see dying that way as dishonourable but I have no patience for people forcing their ideals onto others.
Aaah! Kazama throwing Hijikata's insult back in his face is pretty brilliant!
Kazama just sliced me in the face! Sexy?!
Sexy Points with Kazama because he's confirmed your full BROOD MARE potential.
Kazama likes calling people bitches so we have that in common.
So, now Hijikata respects them for committing seppuku?! I am CONFUSED.
Oh, now I'm getting Itou's origin story?! This is unexpected!
Wait, have I broken the game and accidentally romanced Kondou?! What is happening right now?! X_X
Oooh! I'm getting sword training! Yes please! This is better than sex :D
Feminist icon Kondou isn't going easy on me just because I'm a girl :D
Chapter 3
Aka: Sanan's breakdown!
"Those were his last words." O_O I... hope that that's not true...
Okay, now he's throttling me! I take it back! Somebody fillet this crazy fucker!
OMG WAS THAT CRUNCHING SOUND MY NECK?!
But why is he choking me when he could be sipping on my delicious blood? O_o
The awkward moment when your creepy brother is a hotter woman than you X_X
Apparently, Kazama's gazing at me with bloodlust. How romantic.
Haha! Apparently Kazama's hand is "pale and grasping like the tentacle of some hideous subterranean monster." X_X Hot.
Yay! Rescued from tentai boi by HajiBAE and SanoCUTEY! And Harada is calling out Kazama for being a creep :') This is a good day.
Kazama's response burn is weak. The culture and the nose of a dog? What does that even mean? Even if Harada's nose looked like a dog's, that'd still be pretty weak, imo.
Ha! Saito's response is basically just an Uno reverse card but I'm always here for calling Kazama out on his hypocrisy.
Omg, now Yamazaki is kidnapping me and Shiranui's calling him out! None of these hos have any chill!
Amagiri is taking a break from fighting to read Shiranui for being a hotheaded pain in the arse.
Hijikata is rightfully calling me an idiot for drawing my sword on Kazama :')
Kazama's insults are so blunt and childish but it's so funny! He just called Hijikata a weak shit! Apparently, fighting him is an honour and Hijikata isn't giving this diva the attention he believes he deserves.
Hijikata needs to stop calling me Kid X_X
"Sleazebag" = accurate.
Ooh, Sanan is paying me a late night visit! How risqué!
Of course I want to learn more about the water of life but The Grand High Nonce would apparently disapprove so I guess I'll have to wait until another route to find out :'(
Apparently Kazama's not going to abduct me TODAY. How reassuring.
I relate to Kazama admiring the beauty of the temple but he lost me by being a hypocrite again. Apparently, he doesn't understand how humans can destroy their creations with their wars. KAZAMA IS FIGHTING WITH THE PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO BURN KYOTO AND THEY PARTIALLY SUCCEEDED. Kazama can only destroy things, as far as I can tell.
Now he's ranting about how they lie, deceive and kill. Pot kettle black? "If they want something, they'll steal it." UGH, KAZAMA, YOU HAVE REPEATEDLY TRIED TO STEAL ME YOU HYPOCRITICAL FUCKWIT. HE'S SO FRUSTRATING. SUCH AN INSUFFERABLE COMBINATION OF PRETENTION, HYPOCRISY, CRUELTY, HUBRIS, I could go on XD I should stop... For now...
AAAAAH HE JUST SAID NOT TO TRUST THE SHINSENGUMI BECAUSE THEY KILL THEIR OWN MEN WITHOUT BATTING AN EYELASH. THAT'S WHAT KAZAMA DOES WHEN YOU FIRST MEET HIM! BUT I GUESS IT DOESN'T COUNT TO HIM BECAUSE THE MAN WASN'T PART OF HIS SUPERIOR RACE!
Sen = <3
Chapter 4 (This is where I went to sleep)
I feel like we could have got away with killing the guy who was SENTENCED TO DEATH if fricking Sanan hadn't shown up and revealed his alive-ness!
Aw, Itou is concerned about my arm!
Aaaaand he's ruined it by being a cunt XD "Would you like to know?" "Yes." "I won't tell you." X_X
Heisuke, Saito... HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME... WHEN I NEEDED TO... POSSES YOU... I HATED YOU; I LOVED YOU TOO... BAD DREAMS IN THE NIGHT.... *Continues singing Wuthering Heights and dances around the room dramatically*
"And then they were gone" :'(
Tbf, I'd be pretty mad if my comrades had been doing such dangerous, fucked up experiments behind my back.
"I am more concerned about the soldiers being left behind." - lies!
Wait, Sanan knew Itou "really well"?! Their only interaction until now was Itou being a mega-douche to him. I have so many questions!
Aw, Sanan trusts that our friendlings will return <3
Ooh! Going on a manju adventure with YAM!
Kazama strolling down the street and everybody being pushed out of the way by the douchebag waves rolling off of him.
Okay, so Kazama has come here alone to get pissed amongst humans?! That seems implausible...
"I might even allow you to pour me a drink." BLEUGH BLETCH BLUUURGH.
I CANNOT WITH THIS THOT AND HIS HYPOCRITICAL BULLSHIT. HOW DARE HE BRAG ABOUT HOW COOL AND DOWN WITH THE KIDS HE IS TO BE DRINKING WITH HUMANS AND THEN SLAG ME OFF FOR ASSOCIATING WITH HUMANS?!
If I'm supposedly so curious about the demon lifestyle, can I PLEASE just run away with Sen? :'(
WHY IS NOBODY ASKING WHAT I WANT?!? X_X I WANT TO GO WITH THE COOL DEMON LADIES!!!
"Yukimura. What do you have to say about this?" FINALLY!!! THANK YOU, KONDOU!
I really want to go but the game won't let me XD
Souji is correct. I clearly have rocks for brains XD
"Gosh" Appropriate reaction.
AAAAAAAAND MY BELOVED SHINSENGUMI IS IMMEDIATELY ENDANGERED BY MY POOR DECISIONS.
Ooh! Physical contact with Kazama! Sure, he's violently grabbing me but this thirsty bitch will take what she can get XD
Harada has the best put downs :') "Barging in here to get yourself a wife! You think you'd get the point by now after all these rejections..."
"You fools have no idea of her worth." BITCH I AM A well, not human but SENTIENT BEING! THEY TREAT ME WITH MORE RESPECT THAN YOU EVER DID YOU MASSIVE CREEP. I AM MORE THAN JUST A WOMB, YOU HO!!!
"She is most valuable when used by a fitting partner." THA FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?!???! NOPENOPENOPE. A FITTING PARTNER WOULD NOT "USE" ME, BITCH.
"HA! So you decide to take her against her will just because you're too scared of the rejection you'll get from flat-out asking her out, huh?" YES HARADA!!! YOU CALL OUT THIS FUCKING NONCE!!! ALL RAPISTS ARE COWARDS!!! "You're so lame and creepy." WHERE IS THE LIE?!??
Meanwhile, Hijikata just makes it clear that he'd happily slice through me. Good to know.
I shall WIGGLE my way out of this situation! What do you mean it didn't work?!
YAAAS KONDOU! YOU FIGHT THAT BITCH!!!
OMG I JUST FELL ON TOP OF OKITA AND NOW HE'S SLUT SHAMING ME! XD
"Tell me... How is it? On top of me. Does it feel good?" O_O O_O O_O This game just got a lot more spicy!
Just fuck already! If only to piss off Kazama X_X
Aw, poor sick Okita <3
How dare they mention that the new HQ has a huge bath for warriors to bathe together and not have another thirst scene :P
Now Harada and Nagakura are slut shaming each other for having their tiddies out in Winter :')
Does this count as sexposition? Politics + tiddies?
"Itou dies." This is what happens when you base a game around true events! Problems aren't solved with the power of love and friendship! X_X
YES SAITO, PLEASE PROTECT ME FROM THIS MURDEROUS NONCE!
Chapter 5
At least in the normal route where nobody loves me, I don't get shot at by cannons O_O
There are a lot of typos in this chapter already. Perhaps the developers didn't expect anyone to be INSANE enough to romance Kazama.
DON'T TELL THIS RANDOM GUY YOUR PLANS YOU FOOL!!! IF THIS GETS INOUE KILLED, IMMA BE SO MAD!!!
NO INOUE!!! DON'T DRINK THE CRAZY JUICE!!!
NOOOOOO!!!! INOOOUUUUEEEE!!! :'(
Yes Queen, you call out those murdering cowards :'(
FFS I just got hella shot X_X
NO YOU GUYS ARE THE MONSTERS!!!
Apparently, I'm a "Noble Demon specimen" BITCH WHERE?!
"Why was Kazama helping me?" UM, HAVEN'T WE BEEN THROUGH THIS?! BECAUSE HE WANTS TO "USE" YOUR FERTILE WOMB TO BREED A NEW LINE OF DEMON CHILDREN.
"Shoot me? To death?" XD
"Kazama glared coldly at the pile of dismembered corpses on the floor" :') So romantic!
OMG IT'S THE BETTER DRESSED VERSION OF ME!!!
"Actually a man." UM, A CHILD, SEEMINGLY.
The whole creepy demonic family together at last :')
STOP CALLING ME ADORABLE AND LITTLE YOU CREEPY DEMON CHILD.
"What you're doing is disgraceful." YOU TELL HIM KAZAMA.
"Mind if I kill your family, right here and now?" O_O Kazama has zero chill! Thanks for asking, though, I guess. Go for it, Kazama XD
Oh, apparently I'm going to "talk to them" X_X
"Kodo, I could murder you over a thousand times, and it still wouldn't be enough for me." This is the most I've ever liked Kazama.
Doesn't Kazama work directly with Kodo in various routes?
Why can't I vanish like smoke? :'( Where are MY cool demon powers? :'(
"Turns out the only one capable of keeping you safe when you needed them most was me -- not them." HOW DARE YOU!!! INOUE GAVE HIS LIFE PROTECTING ME AND YOU'VE NEVER PUT YOUR OWN PRECIOUS NECK OUT THERE FOR ANYONE IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE YOU POMPOUS ASS!!! YOU'VE NEVER HAD TO WORK FOR ANYTHING IN YOUR WHOLE LIFE, HAVE YOU?! YOU WERE BORN A DEMON PRINCE AND THAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU'RE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE?!? BECAUSE YOU HAVE POWERS YOU DIDN'T EARN?!
"If your idea of a good time is seeing the rotting corpses of your friends, be my guest..." 8_8 :'( No, they can't all be dead! Surely not! Kazama don't say things like that!
The Yodo are going to betray the Shogunate?!? I must warn them D:
Wow, this just got heavy and real sad.
Wait, did he just admit to meddling in the war?! He is such a hypocrite!!!! Aaaaaaah!!! Somebody call him out on his bs!!!!
SEN AND KIMIGIKU <3 SAVE ME!
Even Shiranui sees that humans have a variety of complex motivations X_X
I AM NOT YOUR FUTURE WIFE!!!!
Do the Shinsengumi just assume that I'm dead?!
Great, now I'm on a road trip with this cunt.
"I've never actually been this close to a man before..." Calm down! That horse is third wheeling so hard right now. And what about that time you fell ON TOP OF Okita?!
Welp, that's it for Kyoto Winds! Onwards to Edo Blossoms! I still don't like Kazama but at least murdering the ever-loving FUCK out of Kodo is a cause that I can believe in. Although, one of the reasons that I hated Kodo in Saito's route was because he was helping the same sex pest I'm now galloping across the country with. Huh.
This is the most that I’ve ever used the word, “nonce” in my entire life and this is only the first game.

29 for the angst prompt? ^^
@rei-ryoku I am so utterly sorry this took so long! Your patience has been so appreciated and I hope you enjoy! (I indulged myself at the end, so hopefully the turn later is just as you hoped.)
Angst 29. “I love you.” “I’d rather you didn’t”
"I love you," the words were out of Chizuru's mouth before she even realized she was speaking them aloud.
Okita Souji, previously the Captain of the Shinsengumi's First Unit and recent addition to the Fury Corp, had just moments before her confession been indulging in resting his head upon her lap and gazing up at the beauty of the moon. The peaceful serenity had lulled her into a fall sense of comfort and security, the thoughts and emotions pulsing through her heart spilling over her lips without pause. As fear of discovery and rejection laced her soft brown eyes, his dulled and he slowly pulled himself up from her lap. She knew he was going to reject her before the words formed. She had ruined their intimate moment, foolishly assuming he felt the same way. She wished she could pluck her words back from time itself and tuck them safely back into her heart. As she braced herself for a hostile denial, he sighed, eyes turned to the ground before the engawa.
"I'd rather you didn't," Okita-san muttered, an unnamed somber emotion casting over his features.
Chizuru snapped her head up, tears welling within her eyes and lip trembling against a full sob. Her secret was out and her wildest fears coming true. She loved a man who was most likely unable to reciprocate her affection. She should have known better, she bullied herself inside.
There was no explanation as he rose and began to make his exit, halting upon the engawa. For her part, her heart was breaking and she muffled her sobs within her cupped hand.
He paused for what felt like an eternity, neither of them able to breach the silence as this moment was a crossroads and they were highly aware of the fact. If he walked away, it would be a permanent choice and change their dynamic going forward. It was a symbolic rejection, the action speaking more poignantly than any words could express. He was about to leave her behind and her heart ached for him to stay.
"I'm sorry," he whispered nearly imperceptibly before he casually strode off into the darkness and she lost sight of him.
The simple apology stayed her tears and the longer she turned the moment over in her mind, the further she became dissatisfied with his response. An apology acknowledged his own remorse. It signified the wish for different circumstances or perhaps the ability to love her in return. Whatever the cause if the simple little phrase left Chizuru unresolved, furrowing her tiny brow in the direction he had vanished. After a long moment's pause, she decided that whatever the reasoning, if she had unburdened her heart to him at the very least he owed her an explanation.
Their relationship going forward always held an unspoken tension, as if there was always more to say. She would have said his behavior was unchanged, save for the fact he no longer lounged on her or sought her out unnecessarily. He had clammed up, but she could not fathom as to why. Okita Souji was a difficult man to understand but she usually found a way to make sense of his view. None of it made any sense for her. Her questions bubbled within her.
That was, until he stepped into the path of speeding bullets aimed directly at her. As she held his unconscious body and tried to stop the bleeding as she cried out for help, the view settled within her heart. Those were not the actions of a man who did not care for her. She was in his way, very much so, but he chose to rise above and protect her. He always chose to protect her.
It was sometime before he had the strength to remain awake, let alone respond to her internal quandary. She nursed him, allowing her love to spread throughout her actions. Every blotting of sweat or holding his hand was an unspoken declaration of love. The day arrived though, as he sat propped up in bed with as many pillows as they could find. Yamazaki-san was giving Okita-san a lecture, but Chizuru's heart was not in pacifying their relationship. Exhaustion mixed with a growing impatience toward his unexplained behavior and she finally blurted out with:
"You owe me an explanation,"
For a moment, the two men were stunned into silence as their eyes widened at her uncharacteristically brisk tone. Yamazaki-san was fully perplexed, but Okita-san's shock belied an entirely different emotion. Resignation won over his face and he sighed in equal parts fatigue and acceptance. She had backed him into a corner and he knew he could not escape.
"Hai, hai. Do you mind if Yamazaki-kun finishes up his lecture before we get into this?" He asked, a weak smirk tugging the corner of his lip, "I thought this might come up eventually. I'm surprised it took this long,"
"I wouldn't have to lecture you if you would just think for a moment, Okita-san, " Yamazaki could not withstand to retort and followed up with, "And, is there something I should be aware of?"
Okita-san shook his head.
"It's private," he replied with a slow blink.
"Then, I'll see myself out," Yamazaki nodded, halting in the shoji frame to point at Okita-san, "Keep an eye on him, Yukimura,"
She bowed her agreement and focused her eyes on the man before her. He was fiddling with the hem of his blankets and biting at the corner of his lip. She wasn't the only one who hadn't been able to voice the subject.
"Why?" She breathed, an imploring look shimmering within her eyes, "Why did you do it? Why would you step in front of a loaded gun for a woman who was in your way?"
"That's not really what you want to ask, because I can't give you a definite answer there. It was my duty to keep you safe. You just can't protect yourself, ever-"
"Then, why don't you want me to love you?" She whispered.
He sighed shakily, blinking upwards at the ceiling. A beat passed between them and she patiently awaited him to speak.
"I'm broken," he finally replied with a somber little smile, tears welling in his eyes, "I'm not good for you. I'm not Momotaro, some warrior hero to rescue you from the oni. I'm a murderer. I have blood on my hands... no. I have blood splattered over my life. You say you love me, but you don't know me. Where I've come from, who I am. What makes me who I am. Do you know the story? My first kill, did the others tell you?"
Those green eyes leveled to her round brown ones, showing a brokenness she had never seen in full, only caught mere glimpses of. Her heart tried to leap out of her chest to dart towards his, compassion seizing her. She wanted to erase all that pain, but there was a level of fear. She was about to know the man he was and she would have to handle his fragile emotions with care. He was about to trust her with his heart.
"No. They never told me," she verified, now becoming the one to bite their lip.
"I killed a comrade in cold blood. I found his plan to kill Kondou-san. I lured him out for a drink and killed him on the way back." Tears raced down the sides of his face as he continued the tale, "It wasn't noble. It wasn't an accident. It was the moment I became the Sword for the Shinsengumi. The man chosen to aid in seppuku. Could you love a man like this? I'm not safe for you, let alone good. I'm a wicked man and a tyrant. My name evoked fear in the hearts of Kyoto. That's not a lovable man. Even Kondou-san doesn't know how black and distorted I am inside. I warned you, didn't I? That you shouldn't get involved with me. You are everything that is good and pure. You're an angel. I'd taint you. I'd drag you to Hell. I don't understand it, because I tried to push you away. Oh, Chizuru, please try to actually see me. I'm evil, okay? I'm a monster. Look at me. I'm a beast. I have no remorse, no qualms for what I've done,"
"Then," she began, eyes filling with tears, "Why are you crying?"
His eyes went wide and before she could process her response, he had doubled over the blankets and started sobbing like the broken man she could finally see he was. She did not see evil before her, just someone who had lost their way tangled in doing the dirty deeds of others. He had lost the man he was somewhere in there, but she desperately hoped she could show him the brightness she had seen. The kindness locked away inside the box where he kept his heart.
She sidled up next to him, pulling him against her chest as she shushed him gently, stroking his hair. He curled up in her arms, his efforts to stifle his wails becoming more difficult as he released sorrows he had bottled for years. One simple question had undone the formidable First Unit Captain of the Shinsengumi.
"You can't just do that," he bawled, nuzzling his face onto her chest, "You can't just put your tiny hands on my life and fix it. I'm crazy. I'm messed up. I'm distorted and a liar and demented..."
"No, you're just hurting," she assured him with a kiss to his head.
"You can't just say that! You can't just love me!"
"Why not?"
"Because..." he whispered, sniffing to try to rettain his voice, "I want you to. I want you all for myself. I want every little scrap of kindness. I'm a stray cat, Chizuru. If you feed me once, I won't stop coming back for food. If you take me in, you can't ever abandon me. Once you live with me, you won't want me anymore,"
"Oh, Okita-san. Silly, silly Okita-san. What have I been doing all this time, living in the headquarters? You threatened to kill me so many times, I came to realize you might actually mean 'I love you,' "
He suddenly lifted out of her grasp, his lips crashing onto hers. Chizuru was taken so aback, she fell backwards onto the tatami as Okita accidentally pinned her to the floor with the sheer size of his body comparatively to her own. His hands shook as he cupped her cheek, tentatively working his mouth over hers before he hummed and eased into their embrace. She wound her fingers into his hair, unintentionally pulling out the tie for his top knot.
"I heard shouting is everything..." The voice of Yamazaki-san sounded and stopped as abruptly as he did within the door.
"I fell... I don't need help... get lost..." Okita Souji huffed, his eyes meeting hers as a mischievous smirk played about his mouth.
They both heard the shoji shut without reply and burst into giggles. Whether it was the mounting stress of their lives or the high from their kiss, neither could verify. When the moment had sobered, Souji planted a couple's kisses to her neck before curling up beside her on the floor, his sides heaving in a breathless euphoria. He lay his head upon the crook of her neck, stroking his fingers over her arm as it lay hidden in her sleeve.
"A-Ai-Aishi-Daisuki," he whispered, pulling her fingers to his lips and kissing every fingertip, "Can you believe that? I love you. That's why I wanted to keep you safe, even from me. I love you. I love you, and I will always protect you above everything,"
"Okita-san..." she gasped, giving him a tender hug until he yelped, "Sorry... I just got so overjoyed..."
"Hmmm, call me Souji-san, ne?" He begged tenderly, closing his eyes with a relaxed sigh, "When it's just the two of us, you can call me Souji. I want to hear you say it,"
"Okay. Souji-san?" She asked hesitantly.
"Yes... that's great. What is it, Chizuru?"
"Aishi-Daisuki," she informed him tenderly, kissing his forehead.
He giggled. Actually giggled.
"Aishi-Daisuki, Chizurumaru," he grinned playfully.
"So, I'm a sword now?" She laughed quietly.
"Yes. If I am the sword of the Shinsengumi, you are my companion piece. The wakizashi of the Shinsengumi," Souji purred, planting several kisses to her inner wrist.
"Oh, Souji-san!" Chizuru gasped, tears of joy welling in her eyes, "That is the highest honor I've ever been given.."
He placed his hand upon her forehead, giving it a playful little shake.
"I now dub you as Wakizashi of the Shinsengumi. Because a sword can love a sword. Aishi-Daisuki, Chizurumaru, "
He yawned widely, removing his hand to place around her in a snuggly hug.
"Aishi-Daisuki, Soujimaru," she teased back, tenderly stroking his hair to lull him to sleep.
He gave one short laugh and was asleep within an instant. Chizuru remained as she was, soaking in the warmth he radiated. No matter what happened, she was loved by a tender and very playful man. A man she adored. Her Okita Souji.

The Gamer Hero, Deku Chapter 1
A/N I hope you guys like my first fanfiction. This is a concept that I thought of that I'm surprised hasn't come up yet, at least for BNHA. Either that or it has and I haven't seen it yet.
xoxoxo
"Sorry, kid, it's not going to happen," the doctor said. "If you had a Quirk, it would've shown itself by now."
"What do you mean?" my mom asked.
The doctor pointed to an x-ray of my foot. "After the emergence of Quirks, there were studies done. It was found that most people with a Quirk lack this joint right here. It's possible for someone to have the joint and a Quirk regardless, but if Izuku here hasn't developed a Quirk at this age, it probably means he doesn't have one."
After that, I was crushed. The one thing that I wanted most was to be a hero, and now that dream seemed completely out of reach. How could I become a hero without a Quirk? I never completely gave up, but after a while, it just seemed so hard. It was around this time that I really started to get into video games. In them, I could be the hero. I was always the hero. I saved the day, stopped the bad guys, and had all kinds of cool powers. Maybe... maybe that was what kept me going. At any rate, I eventually redoubled my efforts to become a hero and began analyzing everything I possibly could about heroes. I watched hundreds of videos of fights between heroes and villains in all kinds of environments. I went to see every hero fight I could. I learned enough that I could theoretically be certified a Quirk counselor if I took the exam. Still, I always had some doubt as to whether or not I could do it. If there was ever a hero without a Quirk, they never made it big enough to even be mentioned. Everyone at school laughed at me for saying I wanted to be a hero.
But that all changed the day my Quirk awakened.
I woke up feeling odd, but couldn't quite place why. It only hit me when I was brushing my teeth. When I was just about done, I noticed something weird above my head in the mirror. I looked up and immediately spat out my toothpaste when I saw white text floating above my head. It might have been reversed, but I could read it clear as day.
The Gamer
LV 5
Midoriya Izuku
I had no idea what to make of it. "Why is there a text box floating over my head!?" I thought. "And what's with that part that says 'The Gamer?" I might have stayed there, staring like a deer in headlights at my own reflection, for hours if my mom hadn't called up to me.
"Izuku! Hurry up or you'll be late for school!" That snapped me out of my reverie. Whatever it was could probably wait until I was at school.
"Coming!" I yelled back down, and then hurriedly finished getting ready. When I went downstairs, she was waiting for me with my lunch. After she gave it to me (along with a hug and a kiss) I looked above her head.

Midoriya Inko
So it wasn't just me. It seemed to me like she couldn't see the words, considering the fact that she hadn't reacted at all. Still, better to be safe than sorry. "Hey, Mom?"
"Yes, Izuku?"
"Have you noticed anything strange today?"
"No, why do you ask?"
"I thought something was off. I guess I just stayed up a little too late last night." She narrowed her eyes at me. "D-don't worry, though! I'm fine now." That confirmed that she couldn't see the text floating above our heads. Satisfied, I headed out the door.

On the way to school, I saw that everyone had a title above their heads. "It's just like a video game!" I thought. I stopped for a second as a thought struck me, then continued as I thought about it. "Could this be a Quirk? What if that's the reason? It'd explain why only I can see these titles. The doctor did say that it was possible I had a Quirk, just not likely. But why now? Why wouldn't my Quirk have shown up earlier?" I was so distracted that I didn't even notice the crowd until I walked into someone's back. After apologizing, I followed everyone's gaze to see a giant, monstrous man standing on the overpass.
Giant Monster Man

Yamazaki Riku
"Guy gets cornered by heroes and just turns into a giant monster," a nearby man said as if it was a common occurrence. I made my way through the crowd toward the front. When I did, a bunch of fangirls squealed as a guy who looked like a cross between a ninja and a tree kicked the giant in the face. "It's Kamui Woods," I said. I squinted and just barely made out his title while he monologued at the villain.

Huh. I figured that the titles had some limitations to it. My assumption was immediately given some credit when a giant woman kicked the giant villain in the jaw while he was distracted with Kamui Woods' special attack.

Takeyama Yu
"Mt. Lady, huh?" the guy next to me said. "She's certainly making a name for herself. Seems like she might make it big."
"Yeah," I muttered. "She's certainly got a good Quirk for hero work. Plenty of power and flashy too. I can see a few downsides, though. She can't use it in tight spaces and being that big would definitely cause a lot of collateral damage." I was interrupted by a ping. I looked down to see... a blue text box?
A new skill has been created through special action! Continuously analyzing your surroundings has created the skill 'Observe' to gain information about objects.
Observe (Active) LV1 EXP: 0.00%
The ability to observe one's surroundings and gain information from it.
Gives the user information about the object it is used on.
Yet again, all I could do was gape at what I saw. A skill... so this wasn't just identifying people... I don't know how I immediately knew how to use it, but I did. "Observe," I thought while looking at the text box for the Observe skill, and a new text box popped up.
The text box for the Observe skill. Shows the effects and experience of the Observe skill.
I probably would've played around with this more, but the man next to me cleared his throat and said, "Hey, kid! Are you okay?"
"O-oh, I'm fine!" I blurted out.
"You looked pretty distracted, there. Something happen?" he asked.
"Don't worry about it," I replied. "My Quirk's just a little weird." I was just using it as an excuse, but... it had to have been my Quirk. There was no other explanation for it. I decided that I'd explore this new Quirk as best I could when I got to school. Wait. "I HAVE TO GET TO SCHOOL!" I realized and ran for it.
xoxoxo
Once I made it to my homeroom, I immediately collapsed into my chair, panting. I looked at the text boxes that had appeared on the run to my school.
The level of the skill Observe has increased by one! The level of the skill Observe has increased by one!
Those and a bunch of Observe text boxes made up most of them. I saw the LV1 on Observe's text box and inferred that I could probably raise the level of the skill by using it a bunch. Naturally, I spammed it at every item I could on the run over. However, there were two that I hadn't expected.
Due to repeated struggles, your VIT has increased by one.
Due to prolonged running, your DEX has increased by one.
Well. That was interesting. I suppose it made sense. I may have gained some weird video game power, but I was still in real life... supposedly... so I was still able to exercise. I wondered what my stats were, then had an idea. I concentrated, then thought the word "Menu" to myself, just like when I used Observe. It didn't surprise me, then, when a menu popped up.

Well, that seemed interesting. I decided to start at the top and make my way down. "Status Screen"
Name: Midoriya Izuku
Title: The Gamer
Level: 5
HP: 250/250
MP: 275/275
STR: 10
VIT: 11
DEX: 11
INT: 30
WIS: 10
LUK: 10
POINTS: 0
MONEY: 0 Yen
What? I got most of my stats, but... why would a level five character have twenty more points in INT than in the other stats? I guess that explained why I didn't start at level one, but... maybe I got five stats per level after one and my Quirk automatically dumped those into INT because of my above-average IQ? I guess that made sense, but I really wished it hadn't. I could have probably used those points better myself, Quirk! Still... I decided that I'd have to train up my stats the hard way at first. "I can probably focus on INT, WIS, and LUC during school hours. Studying and doing math problems should probably increase my INT, maybe I could increase my WIS by meditating, and if I constantly flip a coin and call it that'd probably increase LUC. As for out of school, I said I was going to Yuuei, so nobody would think twice about me exercising like crazy. Actually, why haven't I done that already? 'Exercised like crazy' is half of what made Batman Batman, so why did it take me this long to figure out that I should do that!?" I then noticed another text box.
Due to planning things carefully, your WIS has increased by one!
That's probably what led to me questioning my previous actions. I would have thought about that further, but I was interrupted (again) by someone saying my name. "Midoriya-kun is also planning on going to Yuuei." Oh no.
"WHAT!? DEKU!?" Kacchan went over to my desk and started burning my desk with tiny explosions. I got a good look at his name.
Lord Explosion Murder
LV 14
Bakugou Katsuki
That title was really accurate. "YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A FUCKING QUIRK, YA SHITTY DEKU! YOU'RE JUST A DISGRACE!"
"Kacchan..." I sighed. I was surprisingly calm considering the fact that an explosive blonde was shouting in my face. I guessed I was just really distracted by the whole "I have a Quirk now" thing. "You can't stop me from going to Yuuei, no matter what you do." "Actually," I thought, "while he's in my face like this... Observe."
Name: Bakugou Katsuki

STR: 27
VIT: 25
DEX: 35
INT: 29

LUC: 13
Quirk: Explosion
Emotions: Angry, worried
That last one didn't seem right... "SHITTY DEKU! I'LL MURDER YOU!"
"Bakugou, calm down!" the teacher said. "Remember, you're not supposed to use your Quirk in school. I don't think that getting a detention will look very good to Yuuei."
"FINE! I'M JUST GONNA GLARE AT HIM!"
"PLease limit yourself to that. That isn't against the rules and doesn't cause a disturbance."
"MAYBE I WILL!"
Wow Kacchan is high-strung. I sighed as he plopped back into his seat and started glaring at me. With that threat out of the way, I decided to test my new training regimen.
xoxoxo
On the walk home from school, I decided to review what I'd done at school. After Bakugou's outburst, I'd decided to try out meditation, which yielded quite the fruit.
A skill has been created through special action! Through repeated meditation, the skill 'Meditation' has been created.
Meditation (Active) LV2 EXP: 61.23%
By clearing one's mind, the mind becomes much sharper. This skill allows the user to meditate on the mysteries of life, the universe, and everything for enlightenment.
Increase HP recovery per minute by WIS while meditating.
Increase MP recovery per minute by WIS while meditating.
Increase stamina recovery per minute by WIS while meditating.
WIS can be trained through meditation.
Through repeated meditation, your WIS has increased by one!
I also found a 500 yen coin during lunch and started flipping it as I'd planned. Just like I'd thought, calling it right enough times had increased my LUC.
Due to repeatedly winning games of chance, your LUC has increased by one!
"I should probably focus on VIT and DEX, and especially DEX. Even if I can shrug off getting punched by a truck and hit with the same amount of force, there's going to be some attacks that I can only dodge." I would have done some more planning, but I was interrupted by a weird feeling and a ping. I was excited to see what this new text box would bring me until...
A new skill has been created through special action! Through exposure to impending doom, the skill 'Sense Danger' has been created.
I had about a second to think "Well that is the second most ominous thing I've ever seen." before a manhole burst with some form of sludge. The sludge consolidated into a single blob that somehow had eyes and a mouth with teeth.

A wedding fit for them
Oh, without my love, I'd be incomplete
And without my love, I'd be all empty
So, without my love, I would not be me
The Crash – Sugared
It was hard to breath, he felt like suffocating. His hands felt itchy, making him want to crawl out of his own skin. Sougo didn't like to be put on the spot like this. Every person in the room was giving him glances and smiles. It felt like they were giving him some kind of approvement. He didn't need anything like that from them. Only one person mattered to him. Her approvement and smile was all he needed.
Sougo loosened up his cravat a little, hoping to ease his growing nervousness. He exhaled deeply. Even the damn suit he was wearing felt too tight, uncomfortable. Sougo saw Hijikata approaching him with a steady step. His presence wasn't what Sougo needed at that moment, not even a little bit.
”Nervous?” Hijikata asked, sporting the same smile like everyone else.
”Shut up Hijibaka-san.”
He huffed. ”I figured you would be.”
Sougo clenched his jaw and turned his back on Hijikata. ”I don't know what you're talking about. How about you just go and drop dead already.”
Hijikata laughed a little. That was new for Sougo. Was his situation such an amusement for the mayonnaise-freak, he thought. ”Sougo, it's completely normal to be a little nervous,” Hijikata said and prepared to leave. ”Just, don't get cold feet. Otherwise, things could get messy.”
Sougo rolled his eyes at Hijikata's words. Why would he get cold feet, he asked himself. Sougo hadn't been this sure about anything in his entire 24 years of life. He just hated the feeling of people watching him, watching them, like they had the right to witness something that was mean to be private.
Sougo stood at the altar, eyes roaming around the church filled with people, some he knew, some he didn't. He didn't see Gintoki anywhere, which made sense. She had told him that both of her dads were going to walk her down the aisle.
She had even ordered him to get a best man, someone to stand by him at the altar, someone to make sure he wouldn't try to escape. He had snorted at her joke, and she had punched him, hard. After that Sougo did as she said and got himself a best man, actually, two. He asked Kondo to be his best man and the gorilla insisted that Hijikata should be one too. After some weepy pleading, Sougo had obliged.
Sougo saw his best men standing a little further away from him, casually chatting with each other. Why he couldn't be like that, all casual and relaxed, Sougo wondered. He wasn't second guessing marrying her, but something felt off. Sougo shoved a hand in his pocket and felt the crumbled piece of paper he had been staring for hours last night. ”Tsk.” He shoved the paper even deeper and shrugged his arms to get rid of the annoying feeling.
The time was nearing in, the beginning of the ceremony was moments away. Sougo felt more anxious than before, he hated the feeling. He had to do something about it, quickly. And Sougo knew exactly what he had to do, he had to see her. ”Oi, Kondo-san! I'll be right back.”
Hijikata and Kondo turned to Sougo. ”Where are you going Sougo?” Kondo inquired and Hijikata made his way to stand next to the groom.
”Yeah, where are you going Sougo?” Hijikata asked.
Sougo saw what they were thinking, they thought he was going to escape. ”Just let me go, I'll be right back,” he said, pushing his voice to be as convincing as possible.
Hijikata and Kondo shared a knowing look. ”Not gonna happen, Sougo,” Hijikata said firmly as Kondo crossed his arms and nodded deeply.
Sougo inhaled deeply to withstand their utter stupidity. If he would want to ditch the wedding, he would be gone already, he wasn't stupid. If his best men weren't going to let him through, he had only one thing left to do. ”You morons don't leave me much of a choice here.”
Kondo and Hijikata shared another look and Sougo saw his change. The captain tackled both of his superiors down with ease. All those fights with her had thought him a thing or two about sneak attacks and tackling. Sougo ran through the aisle, masterfully ignoring the calls of his best men. As Sougo pushed the church doors open and disappeared from sight, Hijikata grabbed a radiophone. ”Everyone, code RED!”
”Yare, yare...I even had faith in Soda-kun.”
”WHAT? How dare he do this to my precious daughter?”
”He's mine, I'll kill him.”
”No! We insist, let us kill him.”
Hijikata sighed deeply at the crazy answers he got. ”NO! Our job is not to kill him! Just capture him for god's sake,” he said.
”...”
”...”
”Can I kill him afterwards then?”
”Sure...if she doesn't kill him first.”
*
*
Sougo ran in the hallway of the church, eyes roaming, looking for a way out. He wasn't aware of the code RED that he had triggered. There was going to be a couple of unwanted hinders on his way to her.
Sougo ran into a group of women on the second floor, dressed for the occasion. He stopped on his tracks, sensing trouble coming on his way. Two wielded katanas, two flashed their kunais and one pointed her naginata at him. ”What's up bitches?” was Sougo's way to open up their conversation.
”We are the squad RED and we are here to claim your life,” Nobume said, her voice being as soft as she was talking about puppies or gardening.
”Nobume-san! We are not to kill him, capturing him was our order,” Kyubei said firmly.
”But he's such a dickless coward!” Sarutobi shouted. ”He's nothing like Gintoki, his dic-.”
”STOP IT Sacchan!” a blushing Tsukuyo screamed.
”Come on now ladies, get it together,” Otae said and tightened her grip on her weapon. ”Let's do this.”
Sougo was surprised, but not even slightly scared of them. He was unarmed and he had no desire to fight with any other woman than his fiancée. There was only one option left, run. ”Quit your yapping, I'm spoken for. Don't you ugly, fat-”
”GET HIM!” Otae shouted.
Sougo ducked from the first wave of kunais flying towards him. Nobume and Kyubei attacked from both sides, but Sougo was faster. He dodged and the two samurais clashed swords with each other. Another wave of kunais came and few swings from Otae.
Sougo tried his hardest to find an opening to run while dodging like a mad-man. Then he saw it. Yamazaki was walking towards them and Sougo noticed a huge window right behind him. ”YAMAZAKI!” he roared, startling the poor man.
Sougo sprinted towards Yamazaki while dodging kunais and crazy women. ”Yes, Okita-taichou!”
”You have a bazooka shoved up your ass, right?” Sougo shouted across the hall.
”I always do captain!” Yamazaki answered, his voice cracking up a bit as Sougo and squad RED was getting closer and closer to him.
”Hey bastard! You'll have my spear shoved up so far in your ass that you can taste the metal” Otae shouted with blood lust in her voice.
”Yamazaki! Shoot that window behind you!” Sougo ordered, almost reaching the badminton champion.
”W-what? Why?”
Sougo ran past Yamazaki, almost reaching the window.
”NOW BAKAZAKI!”
A second later the window shattered up from Yamazaki's bazooka. Almost simultaneously Sougo reached the window and leaped out of it. The church was two stories high and the fall wasn't going to be pretty. As Sougo dropped down from sight, Yamazaki felt horror all over his body. ”OKITA-TAICHOU!”
Yamazaki and the entire squad RED rushed to the edge of the huge hole that used to be the window. They saw Sougo on the ground, standing and smiling at them. He was cheerfully flipping his graceful middle finger at the squad of murderous women. ”Thanks Zaki! Later!” he said.
”YOU'RE SO DEAD!”
Sougo had landed softly on the ground, something he had learned from her. She had tought him to utilize trees, bushes or something like that when falling down. Sougo thanked her in his mind and focused on his mission to get to her. He took a quick look around, recognizing the place to be the back garden of the church. This is the right direction, perfect, he thought.
The squad RED had disappeared from the ”window”, he figured that they were coming after him from a different direction. Sougo dusted his black suit from all the dirt. He noticed a couple of holes on the jacket. She's not going to like this...he thought.
*
*
Sougo started running again, but he didn't get very far. This time he was blocked by a bat-shit crazy idiot, also known as her brother. ”Well, well! If it isn't my so-called bro-in-law!” Kamui said with that creepy happy smile of his. ”You look like shit.”
Sougo slowed down and stopped moving, leaving some distance between them. ”You too rat-tail? Why the hell are everyone being so clingy today?”
Kamui snorted. ”I'm doing this for my sister, not for you weakling.”
Sougo hissed, Kamui still wasn't his favourite person despite almost being part of the same family. ”Listen BRO! I have something better to do than looking at your dumb face.”
Kamui cocked an eyebrow. ”Heh, I'm not sure can I resist killing you...maybe I didn't hear the order correctly,” he said and licked his lips, murderous intent dripping from his voice.
”What are these orders everyone are babbling about?” Sougo inquired and frowned his brows.
”Code RED.”
”Explain idiot.”
”Nope.”
Sougo sighed. He was about to explode to Kamui for wasting his time, but he got distracted. Small rocks near him started jumping. Something was coming, something huge. It's them...they're fast, Sougo thought to himself.
”Okay bro! Prepare to die!” Kamui gloated with a smile and jumped at Sougo with his umbrella ready to strike. Again, Sougo knew how to dodge. He had experience with fighting a Yato from countless times. Sougo had fought against her and Kamui separately and once he even agreed to take on both siblings at the same time. Sougo lasted a few good minutes against them, but then he got beaten up so badly that he doesn't want to think about it much.
”BASTARD!” one of the angry women shouted. The squad RED was reaching him. Sougo knew he couldn't win this fight with dodging. This was the right time to use his wit. Kamui kept launching at Sougo, making him the top nuisance to get rid off. Then Sougo saw the answer approaching him with blue hair flying wildly.
”OI! CRAZ-uh, I mean NOBUME!” Sougo yelled and jumped away from Kamui. ”Guess what?” Kamui stopped for a second, curious about his opponents shouting.
”Don't speak to me sadistic monster.”
”But I have something to tell you, or rather Kamui here has something to tell you!” Sougo said with a grin. Kamui and Nobume locked eyes, each of them feeling equally confused. The squad was only few meters away from Sougo and he needed to start running soon, so went on with his plan.
”It was Kamui who ate all your donuts last night!” (Sougo was actually right, he just thew a lucky guess up in the air). Nobume's eyes flashed, something ignited inside her. The blue-haired samurai charged at the Yato with full speed. They clashed their weapons, and something in Kamui's eyes changed. Sougo recognized it in a heartbeat, it was the same look that he had when he looked at her. It was the look of holy-shit-you're-strong-let's-fight-all-day-n-night-long.
Sougo's mission was a success as he had managed to drop two pursuers off his tail. The rest of the squad RED was trying to get Nobume and Kamui off each other.
Sougo ran again, he knew he was almost there. Actually he could see the small building in a small distance, the bride's private house. The pure sight of the building eased his heart greatly.
Unfortunately, Sougo's challenges weren't over just yet. The worst was walking towards him...not one, but two angry daddies. Umibouzu and Gintoki were glaring at him with the intent to kill. Sougo was baffled, why the hell everyone were out to get him. The only thing he was trying to do was-.
”OI!” Gintoki thundered. ”Where do you think you're going Sorbet-kun?”
”It's Sougo, Danna, or should I call you Dadda?”
”You better shut up if you want to live another day,” Umibouzu warned him.
Sougo rubbed his right temple. How was he supposed to get past these two? Umibouzu was the most feared alien hunter in the whole damn galaxy and Gintoki was even crazier than her brother and father together.
Umibouzu and Gintoki moved closer to him, step by step. Sougo came to the conclusion that shock-value was his only change. So he thought of the most horrendous things to say to a girl's father(s).
”Danna, baldie, there's something I want to get of my chest...” Sougo said and made his face as innocent as possible. Gintoki and Umibouzu swallowed his bait and gave him the change to speak with their hearts open to hear whatever bothered Sougo.
”Sometimes China likes it when I **** **** **** and then **** **** ****, harder each time. Like the other night she **** **** and then I **** ****. Begging me to **** **** **** **** **** whipped cream **** **** **** you know how it is,” Sougo said with a straight face, internally cracking up.
Gintoki and Umibouzu transformed instantly into statues. The weren't moving, not even breathing. Sougo's words had transported their souls into the after-life. Another plan, another perfect succession, he thought and smirked.
Sougo ran once again and soon he was near the building. ”DON'T DO IT SOUGO! DON'T RUN AWAY!” Hijikata yelled from a distance. Sougo turned around and quickly ducked from a rain of bullets, kunais, katanas, daddy tears and bazooka rockets. The whole damn squad RED was there, almost reaching him. Sougo dashed to the front door of the building and hastily banged the door.
”I'm coming, I'm coming!” a voice said from inside. The door opened. ”Huh? Sou-” Kagura managed to say before Sougo rushed them both inside the house and slammed the door close. He locked the door behind him and turned to face her. Kagura had a beautiful white wedding dress on, puffy, princessy, traditional. The sight of her made his heart skip a beat.
Kagura saw him panting heavily, jacket partly ripped, face full of scratches. ”You? Wha-” Kagura stuttered with worry, but she was cut of by him holding her. Sougo had hurried to take her in his arms, squeezing her tightly against him. ”Oh, what's wrong chihuahua?” she asked and gently let her hands slide around his waist.
”I*mumble mumble*,” Sougo...well mumbled against her vermillion hair that was done half-up, half-down.
”What?” Kagura asked with a teasing voice.
Sougo pulled his head back to look into her sparkly blue eyes. He gently pressed his forehead against hers. Sougo cupped her cheeks and looked quite bashful, which was something brand new for Kagura. ”I missed you.” Kagura's eyes softened, almost teared up. He never said stuff like that to her, which only made this moment that more special.
”Okay, I missed you too,” Kagura giggled. ”But why are you here-aru? It's bad luck for the groom-”
Kagura's words were cut short by an endless banging on the door. She frowned her brows and glanced at the door. ”They have been acting crazy all day...they even tried to stop me from coming here,” Sougo said and dropped his hands from her cheeks to her shoulders. ”They were talking all kind of nonsense like code RED or something.”
”They? Code RED?” Kagura repeated and looked at Sougo straight into his eyes. ”But, you were coming here, yes?”
”Uh, yeah. Why? Do you know what this code RED is?” Sougo asked.
Oh, did Kagura knew what code RED was? Well she had invented the code RED so she knew exactly what it meant. ”KAGURA-CHAN! OPEN UP!” Umibouzu called from the door.
”Wait here, I'll handle them,” Kagura said and passed Sougo, sweetly brushing his arm and shoulder with her hand. He loved those small nuggets of affection she gave him, he was simply addicted to them. Kagura stomped to the door and unlocked it. She opened the door, glanced quickly at Sougo and then went outside, closing the door behind her. Sougo's curiosity woke up from her mysterious behaviour. He decided to eaves-drop through the door.
”Kagura-chan, are you alright?” Otae asked.
”No, I want to know what's going on here, yes?”
”Kagura, I hate to be the one telling you this, but...” Gintoki began.
”But what?”
”Hijikata alarmed us of code RED.”
Kagura crossed her arms over her chest, looking mad as hell. The whole squad had to take a step back out of her intimidation. ”Well, Mayora. Explain the situation, why did you made the call?” Kagura asked like she was the grand major of an army.
Everyone turned to look at Hijikata. ”Me, Sougo and Kondo-san were standing near the altar when Sougo suddenly said that he would be right back,” he explained.
”And? What else?”Kagura asked.
Hijikata felt her piercing gaze and he had to swallow. ”Sougo didn't tell us where he was going...” he said, his answer making Kagura seem even more frustrated. ”Then he tackled us down and ran away.”
Every single person went silent, waiting for Kagura's reaction. She took a deep breath, preparing to tell the whole squad a piece of her mind.
”Mayora, are you stupid or did mayonnaise finally melt your brain?” Kagura asked calmly, making Sougo chuckle quietly behind the door. ”How does that mean that he's going to ditch our wedding?”
(”What...ditch the wedding? Is that what code RED means?”)
”Uh, no...but-”
”Shove that but up your butt Hjijbaka!” Kagura shouted, quieting the vice-commander down.
”The code RED was created if the Sadist would try to run away. He's not as stupid as Mayora, he wouldn't say that he had somewhere to be...he would just go, quietly and unnoticed. If he would have wanted to leave...he would be long gone already.” Sougo listened, amazed of how well she knew him, and baffled by the purpose of code RED.
Hijikata felt embarrassed by his lack of trust in Sougo. ”Kagura-chan, I'm sure Toshi was trying his best,” Kondo said and patted the vice-commander's back. Kagura knew that he did try, she just got carried away by her emotions.
”I guess...” she said. With that a calm atmosphere started to form slowly around Kagura and her squad.
”Kagura,” Kamui called all of a sudden.
”Mmh?”
”Can I still kill him?”
”...”
”...”
”...everyone, run,” Gintoki whispered.
Kagura went full bridezilla on everyone, making each and every one of them escape from her wrath. She was ready to forgive the false alarm of code RED, but the sugestion of harming her fiancée even further pushed her off the edge.
*
*
Kagura returned inside, eyes searching for Sougo. ”Sadist? Where are you?” she called and walked into the small kitchen of the house. He wasn't there. ”Hey, Sadist! Everyone's gone already!” Kagura said and decided to look from the bedroom.
There he was, sitting on the edge of the bed, eyes fixated on the empty wall in front of him, arms resting on his knees, hands crossed under his chin.
There was something wrong, she could tell right away, rather anyone could tell. Kagura hurried next to him. ”Hey?” No answer, eyes not wavering from the wall. She squeezed his thigh. ”Look at me, yes.”
Sougo's gaze shifted to her. His eyes were watery, not teary, but almost. Kagura could see he was very upset about something. ”Sougo, what's wrong?” He sniffed once and breathed through his mouth, trying to speak up. Kagura pulled his face gently to see hers. ”Tell me.”
”The code RED...did you...” Sougo stopped in middle of a sentence to take a breath. He cleared out his throat. ”Did you think that I would leave you at the altar?”
His eyes were so serious that it hurt her heart, ripping it apart to tiny strings. Kagura felt awful, why did she even think that he would do something like that. Then she remembered why the code RED even came to be.
”I, uh. I just...” Kagura mumbled, making Sougo feel physically sick. He didn't understand where she had gotten such an absurd idea. ”Well, you've been acting weird. As our wedding were getting closer you seemed to become more anxious.”
”That's true,” Sougo said, because it was true. Kagura pushed her hands to her puffy lap, his answer slightly startling her. ”I'm really anxious and nervous, I felt like I was suffocating in that church, all the people were ogling at me. So annoying.”
”So you don't want to get married. Okay...okay...” Kagura said, trying to keep her voice as normal as possible.
Sougo scooted closer to her. ”What does my anxiety has to do with marrying you?” as soon as the question rolled off his lips, he heard how dumb he sounded. ”Dammit, that came out wrong.”
Kagura looked away from him, still uncertain of his willingness to marry her. ”Then say it better, yes.”
Sougo got off the bed and kneeled in front of her, finding the eye contact he so desperately had missed. ”I want to marry you Kagura, there's no doubt in my mind.” Her heart fluttered at his words. Even her toes curled up in her white high-heels.
Kagura cupped his cheeks and smiled sweetly. ”Then why are you such a nervous pile of jelly?”
”I hate the wedding,” he said. Kagura's eyes widened and her nostrils vibrated.
”What? Are you saying I did a bad job at planning it??? Oh, you better take that back or I'll-” she muttered and pushed Sougo's cheeks together, making him a balloon fish.
Sougo took her hands of her face and cupped them in his hands. His hold was tender, it calmed her down immediately. ”I mean I hate the whole idea of a big wedding. I hate it when people stare at you, looking all happy and proud, like they knew something about our relationship,” he explained, grunting at times.
”Are you that shy chihuahua?” she teased.
”No, I just think that some things should be private, you know?”
Kagura was stunned. Mr. Attention was suddenly being very coy, but she found it very cute. ”Things like what?” she asked with a little twinkle in her eye.
Sougo sighed a little and digged his pocket a bit. He picked out a crumbled piece of paper and presented it to Kagura. ”Things like these.”
”Old papers?”
”No! These are my vows I wrote to you.”
Kagura's eyes widened, she wasn't expecting him to write vows, they hadn't even talked about it. She thought they were going to go with those simple 'I dos'. ”I-I'm sorry, I didn't write anything,” she confessed, feeling so disappointed in herself.
”Oh it's okay,” Sougo said and ripped the paper apart, making Kagura gasp. He looked at her and tilted his head.
”Haha, yeah...good. Now I never know what you wrote. It's fine, I didn't need to know. It's only fair since I didn't even-”
”Did you honestly think I didn't memorize my vows?” His question stopping her rambling completely.
Kagura wiggled a little from side-to-side, she was like a kid who wanted her birthday present right away. Sougo read her like a book. ”Do you, maybe want to hear them?”
Kagura looked up and acted like she didn't care. ”Whatever, do as you like.”
Sougo shook his head and cleared his throat again. Kagura's smile went from radiant to nirvana. It really didn't matter what he was going to say, Kagura knew she was going to cry.
”Kagura, (her breath hitched as he only got her name out of his mouth) I just wanted to tell you, that you are my partner, my perfect counterpart, my matching puzzle piece, my tabasco sauce.” (giggling)
”I don't want to go back to that life, when you weren't there with me. (she squeaked adorably) Since we were mere brats beating each other up, I knew you were something special. You gave my broken heart the aid I needed, you filled the emptiness I had in me.” (Please stop already...*starts crying)
”Almost there,” Sougo said and continued.
”Most importantly, I can be myself around you. I don't need to be tough, thou I am, hehe (stupid). I can share everything with you, and I love that. I guess I only have one thing left to say. I love you with all of my heart. My China, my Kagura, My love.”
Kagura's back fell down on the bed like a sack of potatoes. Sougo got up to check up on her. ”China?” he called as he hovered over her. Kagura covered her eyes, unable to hide her face that was red as her favourite cheongsam. ”Did you like it?”
Kagura slammed her hands on his neck. ”Did I like it? What a stupid ass question,” she huffed and pulled him into a deep kiss. Feeling her lips again, it felt perfect for Sougo. (He actually got love-sick from just one night of separation from Kagura. They tried to do the traditional one night apart before the wedding day).
After the kiss she wiped away her tears. ”I loved it, you were like some freaking poet.”
Sougo smiled and climbed off her. She sat up too and nudged closer to him. ”Now that was some mushy shit,” he joked, making her laugh a little. Then he got a little quiet.
”Those are the things I don't want everyone to see or hear, but if you want, I'll read them at the altar.”
”Don't,” Kagura said without hesitation. ”I don't want anyone else to hear them, your vows.”
Sougo looked at her, amazed by her reaction. ”Those words are only for me, so let's keep it that way, yes,” Kagura said happily. Sougo thought that could he even love her more. Yes, yes he could.
”Speaking of altar, we better get going. Everyone's waiting,” Sougo said and glanced at Kagura. She had a very focused look on her face. Then, all of a sudden, something lit up in her eyes. ”What's that look China?”
Kagura turned to him with the most beautiful shit-eating grin on her face. ”I have an idea on how to make this wedding more fitting for us,” Kagura said and excitedly clapped her hands together.
”I'm all ears.”

*
Kagura stood between her two fathers, heart jumping from joy and a smile to match that feeling. Gintoki and Umibouzu both offered their arms to her and she gladly accepted. ”Are you ready Kagura?” Gintoki asked with a kind smile.
She took in a calming breath. ”Yeah-aru.”
The church doors opened and all the guests stood up for the bride. Kagura examined all the people staring at her, some were a little teary eyed, some were nodding and smiling with all their heart. Kagura enjoyed the attention, but she didn't really need it. There was only one smile she truly wanted and it was waiting for her at the end of the aisle.
Sougo had seen her dress already, but it didn't matter. Watching her walk to him, smiling and shining like the sun, it was enough to take his breath away. He didn't even bother to think how lame it was to feel so gooey. Kagura hugged both Gintoki and Umibouzu before she stepped on to the altar to stand with him, face to face.
The guests sat down and finally the ceremony began. The priest spoke about love, his words made one delicate flower(gorilla) tear up, he was so damn proud of Okita. Gintoki and Shinpachi fought their hardest to keep a normal face, but Kagura saw how their lips were trembling. They were happy for Kagura, despite her strange taste in men.
”Now, this lovely couple here, this would be the time to read your vows.” Kagura leaned to whisper something into the priests ear. He had a somewhat disappointed look on his face, yet understanding. The priest cleared his throat. ”So, this couple doesn't want to share any words of their own, so we'll proceed to the next part.
Couple of the quests look a little bit surprised, but luckily got over it pretty quickly. ”Now, does anyone have something against this union, you may speak now or forever hold your peace.” Sougo didn't even spare a look at the guests, but Kagura did. No-one in the crowd seemed to do or say anything...but there indeed was someone wanting to say something.
Kamui was a stubborn sadistic bastard, just like the groom was. A good brother wanted something better for his sister, and this was his time to shine and save the day, save Kagura from marrying an idiotic sadist. The vermillion-haired man smiled and was about to get up.
Someone grabbed his braid and pulled him back to his seat without no-one noticing. Kamui turned around to look, who had such a grip of his hair. Apparently Sougo and Kagura weren't the only blue and reddish eyes combo. Kamui's ocean blue eyes studied the red-eyed woman keeping him in place. She acted like she didn't even notice him, making Kamui's interest pique even higher. ”The donut girl. Nobume, was it?” he whispered quietly.
The ceremony moved to the final part. The priest had so many beautiful things to say, speaking about undying love, speaking about the great power it had. Kondo sobbed against Hijikata's shoulder. Shinpachi's purity glasses were soaking wet with tears and Gintoki wiped his runny nose to Umibouzu's formal cape.
”...and finally. Kagura, do you want to take this man to be your husband through ups and downs?”
Kagura's face dropped to another level. She almost looked like Gintoki with her deadfish-eyes. ”...sure...” was her enthusiastic answer.
”O-okay. And then, Okita Sougo, do you want to take this woman to be your wife through ups and downs?”
Sougo looked pretty much like himself. Deadpanning the house down like a champion. ”...whatever...” was his romantic answer.
The priest hadn't heard such answers from anyone before. He figured that the marriage was arranged from the lack of emotion.
”Well then, I'll pronounce you husband and wife, Sougo, you may kiss your bride.”
Kagura stuck out her tongue at him and Sougo pulled down one of his lower eyelids. How truly romantic way to seal a marriage. A lot of guests sighed loudly, many of them even expecting something like this from them.
Kagura covered her mouth to muffle her own laughter. Her cracking up made Sougo smirk too. Then she quickly grabbed his hand. The wedding march started to play and Kagura pulled Sougo to run with her. He followed her without hesitating. Both Kagura and Sougo thought they had managed to act like they didn't care about their wedding.
To their defeat...
...their genuine smiles gave them out as they ran together out of the church.
”Ah, young love,” Gintoki said quietly.

"Hahahahaha," Yamazaki laughs out loud at her words as he leans back, his razor-sharp grin slicing through the dim light like a knife. "Oh that's a fucking good answer. Mmm, I’m not above begging Pumpkin Pie." he purrs, voice as slick as the silk of his suit. His words ooze with that familiar mix of charm and filth. Yamazaki’s reputation precedes him: most of the time polished in appearance but savage in appetite. He fights, eats, fucks, and does business the same way, with a raw intensity that makes him either the best or worst company you could ask for, depending on your tastes. They call him "The Butcher" for a reason. He likes things bloody, messy, and loud. But tonight isn’t about pleasure, not entirely. He’s here for business. The higher you rise, the bigger the targets on your back : the Yamazaki Clan has grown powerful over the years under his command, and with power comes betrayal. Yamazaki is certain there’s a traitor among his inner circle, someone feeding secrets to his rival clan. It's a gut feeling he hasn't shared with many, something he has kept in the corner of his mind for the past weeks. A low ranked traitor? That’s easy : a bullet in the head and it’s done. But someone from his inner circle, someone who's meant to advise him, someone who got the keys of his secrets—someone close? That demands something much worse like a special spot in his slaughterhouse back at home, hanged by the feet like a pork he's going to take a lot of pleasure torturing on the daily. That’s why they’re all here tonight, the higher ranks of the clan, gathered in a place that's not one of the clubs they own. It's a party, kind of, in a neutral ground. He chose this spot hoping the traitor would feel bold enough to make a move, counting on them to think they’ve trapped him off-guard. The gisaengs perform, their graceful movements and bodies drawing all attention from the men of the Yamazaki Clan. Yamazaki’s eyes drift to the woman at his side. After her performance, she sits by his side and becomes the kind of distraction that could make even a man lose focus. "I believe you are the perfect company for me tonight Foxy Eyes. I mean, in a way, you haven't said no to eating my ass, " he says, voice low as he's dragging on his cigar, mischief on his lips. He isn't flirting, actually, simply... wondering. What if she specifically has been chosen as a distraction by the traitors? Or is he getting paranoid. Could there be a gun between her thighs? Will he have to snap her neck? "I wonder," he continues, a smirk tugging at his lips, "Is this everything you ever dreamed of? Our devoted eyes on your poetry? Enslaved? My men, you drive them crazy huh."

Gintama manga chap 684
Dear Gintama gods and Sorachi-sama,
I am worried. You have been so amazingly generous in these last two chapters that I fear that this might only be the glorious calm before the horrific storm. And you aren't just being generous towards me alone, but to many others in the fandom with the number of ships you showcased in this chapter: Gintoki/Hijikata, Hijikata/Yamazaki, Gintoki/Takasugi, Gintoki/Otae, Hijikata/Otae, Kyuubei/Otae, Gintoki/Kyuubei, and even a good dose of Shinpachi/Otae for those who like to walk on the incest side of the road. I could probably include Yamazaki/Otae since she was technically eyeing his mosaic and touching his half-naked body. This felt strictly like a fanservice/gag chapter and that is what made me nervous, because I worry that you are softening us up so that when you actually deliver the crushing blow, we would be completely unprepared and utterly devastated. I apologize if I am coming off as being a killjoy; truth be told, my pessimism is bourn from a sense of disbelief since I still cannot believe Gintoki and Hijikata are once again together and miraculously stayed together by the chapter's end. My feeble brain almost cannot deal with the flood of euphoria I am feeling so as a way to cope, it is coming up with dark possibilities to counter the happiness.  I mean, I thought their time together was surely coming to an end as soon as Tae-chan appeared, since I was certain that she would immediately recognize them, but once again, you surprised me by going a completely different direction. Even though she no doubt did see through their rather flimsy disguises, I love that she still chose not to acknowledge them outright or point them out to Kyuubei. Grant it, Kyuu-chan should have realized who they were as well, but I am entirely able to accept the possibility that by that point, they were so beaten by Tae-chan's students that she probably couldn't see past all the blood and bruises.
Speaking of Kyuu-chan, I downright gasped in surprise when she appeared because she looks so stunning with her new hairstyle! I am so glad that she is alive and well and seemingly has taken over as leader of her clan. When she mentioned Gintoki as a potential candidate for her marriage interview, I actually grinned happily: in lieu of Hijikata, Kyuubei would have been the woman I wouldn't mind seeing Gintoki end up with. I shipped them ages ago, and I cannot say that I ever completely gave up on that idea since it does tend to pop up once in a while when they do have triggering interactions. I really appreciated the fact that she wouldn't have been against the idea of considering him as a potential marriage partner; based on the fondness in her words and expression as she and Otae talked about Gintoki, I don't think Kyuubei would have been doing it only for her not-dead grandfather's sake.
I was also glad that Tae-chan was able to revive her dojo in such a clever way, even though she is clearly scamming those unfortunate women. While I doubt those women would be using the "swordsmanship" they are learning in any kind of fight, at least the Koudoukan is thriving once again and her new profession is definitely better than being a cabaret girl. Although, seeing her in this new position only reaffirmed my belief that she and Kondou are in fact married already and she is indeed pregnant with his child. As a married woman with a baby on the way, of course she would have to quit the Snack Smile: I doubt Kondou would want her to still entertain men every night and in her condition, she wouldn't be able to consume alcohol anyway, which is part of her job duties.  Kyuubei's decision to get married also further confirms my suspicion since I can only imagine that she would give up on Otae if she knows she absolutely has no chance with her anymore. At first I couldn't work out the minor discrepancy of why Otose wouldn't know about her marriage, but after thinking about it more, I guess if Tae is in fact still trying to keep it a secret from Shinpachi, then it would make sense why she would not want to tell more people about it. Telling Kyuu-chan is unavoidable since they are so close, but someone like Otose I can easily understand why she would keep out of the loop. I know all of this conjecturing might only be wishful thinking on my part, but I have wanted Kondou and Tae-chan to be together for way too long to willingly give up on their final fantasy so easily.  I can accept the near impossibility of my GinHiji dreams becoming reality, but I thought at the very least, my KonTae wishes would be a no brainer. I wish you would just definitely tell us the truth already. If Kondou is indeed actually married to Princess Bubbles, then I want more proof than just an easily doctored photograph. I think my potential broken heart deserves at least that.
But going back to the Shimura's dojo, I did feel a pang of sadness when you first revealed that Bimbokusai had passed away, so I was glad that by the end we find out he's very much alive, even though he's inexplicably living the life of a humble trash collector. I cannot even begin to guess where he's carting Gintoki and Hijikata off to, but as I mentioned before, I'm just glad they are being carted off together...literally...since Gintoki is lying on top of Hijikata. That image just pleases me to no end. Actually, when Tae-chan threw Hijikata at Gintoki, I just about screamed in delight as well since the crazy part of me wanted to believe you meant that as some kind of pro-GinHiji symbolism. It also didn’t escape my notice that as soon as Gintoki realized Tae-chan was about to subject Hijikata to the same treatment as she inflicted on Yamazaki, he immediately created a distraction by rolling away. I know I'm nuts, but I hope you will continue to forgive my fangirl tendencies since they tend to be fleeting. I mean, Bimbokusai could be wheeling them to Yoshiwara for all I know, so I am always fully prepared to put a cap on my silly notions at a moment's notice. Even though I am not eager to see Gintoki and Hijikata's time together end so soon, I honestly cannot complain. You have given me so much already, it is only reasonable that you spread your generosity around to others. Not to mention, I am curious as to what Tsukky and the others have been up to these past two years, I miss Sacchan as well, so if that is whom we will be visiting with next, I look forward to seeing them.
Yours truly,
A silly fangirl with yaoi dreams
(^3^)
PS: Those who mannequin, get beaten to a bloodied pulp and are thrown out like trash together, STAYS TOGETHER. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Sorachi-sama!

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Live Action Dream Cast
Please don’t kill me for my choice of people.
Tumblr media
Minami Hamabe (17) as Chiyo Sakura
She gives you a reliable imouto vibe.
Takumi Kitamura (20) as Umetarou Nozaki
It’s really hard to find an actor who looks like he doesn’t give a shit but in reality, has a very wild imagination. I just went with this guy because he’s like a wallflower having a mangaka side job.
Jun Shison (23) as Mikoto Mikoshiba
I can’t think of a flower boy j-actor other than him. I can see Mikorin in him.
Tumblr media
Hirona Yamazaki (23) as Yuu Kashima
She’s a handsome woman and she’s a model too.
Kamiki Ryunosuke (24) as Masayuki Hori
I chose a short actor who’s really good at acting.
Matsuoka Mayu (23) as Yuzuki Seo
You have no idea how crazy she is off cam. Don’t be deceived by the Queen.
Taishi Nakagawa (19) as Hirotaka Wakamatsu
Taishi always gets the lame characters but he’s really cool in real life. He’s sporty and gives off a precious kouhai aura.
