This is basically Canon for me. Just is. I love it so much, and have very much been having thoughts. I even did a lil doodle when I was testing some new brushes :D , I'm just waffling about ideas under the cut

Do you think Fit scripts his radio speeches, or does he just go with the flow? Both, perhaps?

Sometimes, he'll find these huge builds and spends DAYS uncovering their stories. He'll document things roughly, I am also a prosthetic camera eye truther (screenshots) so he takes lots of pictures and evidence. He'll then hole himself up somewhere with his tiny obsidian cabin, gather all his noted and make a full timeline for whatever he found/wants to document. Then when he's done, he'll turn on the radio and start talking, adding his own thoughts here and there.

Sometimes, he'll be walking, in a relatively safe space hundreds of thousands of blocks away from spawn, or maybe closer, and just talk into like a hand held mic (I don't know how radios work) and just say whatever comes to mind. Maybe he sees a fight happening a while away and just starts commentating it (whilst staying hidden ofc).

Does he ask questions? Just wondering to himself what the world outside 2b2t looks like, what the people out there do in their everyday lives. Also the most random bullshit, like. I feel like he talks conspiracy theories when he's bored. Maybe some philosophy, but hes always so unserious about them because he lives in 2b2t! No ones got morals there!

I don't think he'll talk emotions on there, man's so repressed he doesn't realise he has them, but i feel like sometimes there'll just be some outburst of emotion you can hear. He gets quieter, or louder at times and you can tell he's agitated. But normally his voice is very level and nice to listen to :D. It's convenient tho because he doesn't want to talk to himself like a crazy person but likes talking out loud -it's grounding and it's basically socialising right????- so he just speaks into the radio because it feels more normal.

Uhhhhh, he's also not the only one on 2b2t with a radio! Some people occasionally find a working one, or can piece one together and they listen in on his stories! It's not often they'll be able to, they're busy tryna survive or cause chaos, but they also enjoy his broadcasts (mostly). It's why he's so popular and well known. The older people appreciate and respect his work a lot, it makes them nostalgic and gives them joy, and many of them go to him (either in person or by some other method) with their discoveries so he can document them! It's mainly the newer, more unruly people who hear his name and be like Yeah! I'm gonna kill this guy cuz he's popular! But he's generally appreciated by the community a lot ^^ (I like this last part a lot)

Just imagine cassie surprised with Roxy/Roxanne wolf appear at her home for Thanksgiving dinner.

I've had a few AUs where this has been the situation recently, though they mostly involved just travelling to other Fazbear locations. Currently, given that the Fazbear Towers exist, I've been saying that's where a lot of the Plex employees live, including Cassie and her dad. If not, then they're still within walking distance at least so that's nice.

Anyway, if they live in the towers, they're apparently connected to the Pizzaplex via utility tunnels somehow so I suppose that place would be like... experiencing the world outside of the Plex but on training wheels for Roxy. It's not the Pizzaplex, but it's Pizzaplex adjacent so that's probably a good first step to take.

And also, everyone that lives in there are employees at the Plex so they all know Roxy and now Roxy knows where they all live. The absolute horror at not knowing about this and catching a glimpse of Roxy down the hall... the utter chaos at Roxy also being able to sneak around the offices and board room areas on the top floors... If the Bobbiedots are there, she's unintentionally giving them an identity crisis probably too lmao there's potential here

I feel like Roxy would mostly use these tunnels to go and wait in the flat for Cassie to come home from school. Just immediately leave the Pizzaplex ten minutes before she's due home and sits on their couch staring at the door until she walks in. It also means Cassie's dad and other employees she likes (such as Vanessa) just have no place that's completely Roxy Free anymore and while sometimes this is great and actually really helpful, it's also sometimes the stupidest, most irritating thing ever.

Also I dunno about Thanksgiving since that literally doesn't exist in my country, but Cassie coming home from school on her birthday or something to find Roxy in the flat for the very first time. It'd be a hell of a surprise I think lmao but also Cassie knows what Roxy is like so it doesn't take long at all before she gets worried Roxy broke out of the Plex, is at big risk of being scrapped or something, or just hasn't been caught breaking every rule ever yet. Her dad gets to explain to her that Roxy can come visit them now and Cassie has immediately jumped on the idea of a sleepover. It's a bit of a challenge figuring out how to get that to work, but she's determined enough to figure it out!

Now, if they live a bit further from the Plex, uhh these things sort of have to be planned a bit more. Roxy is going to need escorted back and forth quite a bit I'd say and it'd probably take a while before she and Cassie can make the walk unsupervised. It'd be a bit of a crazy situation for the locals too obviously cause uhhhhh did this kid just steal an animatronic??? Uhh??? What??? Did it escape???? Huh????

Especially if they do other stuff too like go to a shop or something. A lot of people are convinced this is a publicity stunt and a lot of videos of Roxy just existing appear online after the first outing. They start going later on a night and during school hours instead after that which decreases the amount of gawking a lot. A lot less people to care, ya know?

I bet the Plex gets an absolute shit ton of calls all the time about an escaped animatronic or a kid stealing one. Bet that's fun to deal with! I imagine the frequency would die down a lot after a while and the locals got used to her but I dont think they'd ever completely stop

From Roxy's perspective, the outside world is pretty overwhelming. She wants to see it and go exploring, but whether Mimic is dealt with or not, she'd have trouble leaving it unguarded. Well, not completely unguarded, but without her specifically guarding it. The idea of leaving it unattended like this is nerve wracking to her and it takes a lot before she's comfortable with this I'd say. Though, if Mimic hasn't been dealt with, I don't think she'd leave at all and if she did, it wouldn't be very far or for very long. It's a little bit different if there's still a massive threat there, ya know?

Being able to leave is pretty exciting though. The Minis have always been able to leave too so they get to go with her on little adventures to random local places. There always has to be someone with her though, and Cassie being the only one there is on very thin ice so uh yeah there's usually an adult with her. She doesn't really get why and thinks this rule is stupid, but she also doesnt know how to cross the road safely or that she can't just go around shoplifting and stuff so... it's admittedly very helpful.

She'd definitely want the others to get this opportunity too though. I mean, it's fun doing stuff with Cassie and her dad, but it's not fair that she can do this and her friends can't. And she can tell they're jealous as all fuck about this. Chica, Monty, Sunny, Moon and DJ are supportive and all but why can't they go too? Doesn't seem fair to her :(

design explanation underneath

okay I’m ngl this design for jack was mostly made for fun & didn’t put that much thought into it but I do have some tidbits!

- jack is an alicorn + part dragon!

The dragon part was put there before I decided on his cutie mark. I wanted jack to physically resemble a snake & I thought it’d be a cool design choice (and provide meaning considering jacks relation to snakes). I also thought the idea of lucifer being a dragon generally was a neat idea. Uhh…. I had more to say here but I forgor 💀.

The alicorn part of jack’s design I feel is kinda self explanatory. jack is the most powerful being in the universe so my boy is getting everything.

the idea for jacks cutie mark came from @dawg-motif when I asked them about it! It’s an ouroboros of two snakes eating eachother, one light & one dark, representing his internal fight with these concepts & his capability of doing both good & bad. Offset by the golden heart in the middle representing his drive to do the right thing regardless & his overall potential.

Hopefully all that, uhhhhh, made sense. I’m not good with words & I didn’t put too much thought here lol. If you’ve got any critiques/suggestions on how I could improve his design please tell me 👀.

On another note, I don't know if I have seen it on twitter or here on tumblr but there is this idea with Dream knowing that George and Sapnap are selkie and then recovering their stolen furs and trying to sneak it back to them

I have seen that! I don’t remember when or where or why, but I have read it 😂 It was a fun read. But also everything I know about selkies basically comes from that trope. Which is to say; very very little.

You’d think me and my love for fantasy would know more about fantasy creatures, but uhhhhh. Yeah I may be lacking in that department. I think I’m actually kinda trash at assigning symbolism to animals or anything like that in general.. I could tell you their pokemon teams tho! :’D

2022 Writer’s Tag.

I think it might be fun to look back on what we’ve all achieved this year, let you give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back and also share what you love. When you’re done maybe tag someone else so they can share too?

1. How do you feel 2022 has gone in terms of writing?

i am so excited with how 2022 had gone in terms of my writing. felt like i improved a lot and was really glad to have gotten back into it!!

2. What piece are you proudest of this year? It can be a shot/blurb/headcannon, a whole series or even a specific chapter.

you already know what i'm going to say...the dead don't die is by far my favorite...i do however hold a special place in my heart for closest to heaven i love iris and josh and YOU SHOULD TOO

3. Is there anything you posted that you wish had reached more people? (No such thing as a flop here!) Shout it out, it might catch a new pair of eyes!

oh 100% closest to heaven!! i felt like some of my best writing was put into that fic and i still do. i know it's long but it's cutie and you can read it here !

4. Can you give us a hint of anything coming before the end of the year? Maybe even a little taster?

i KNOW you're all on the edge of your seats for the Next Big Percy Project ! god i love being sarcastic ! you know what i also love being? cryptic ! no but for real, some of you already know, i've hinted at a new series coming...soon-ish(?)

5. Are you setting any writing goals for next year, or just going with the flow? If you are, what are they?

i try not to set too many goals for myself. oh my god that sounds terrible. no i just mean like...i don't want to say that i'm going to do something and then not do it...if that makes more sense. i definitely want to finish the dead don't die (if i don't finish it this year which is unlikely), and i want to work loads on the next series project and get back into the groove of writing that again since i started it before picking up the dead don't die!! also potentially another series if i finish this next one? who knows. hopefully i can squeeze in some time to write some more oneshot stuff or even expand on the sparrowverse. i have lots of ideas of ideas to do, but right now it's hard to set anything in stone :)

6. Do you have any one shots or finished pieces you’re tempted to expand on or revisit next year?

uhm really the only pieces that i would continue to expand on is the sparrowverse. hopefully maybe eventually i'll get danny's addition to the story... i don't think i'd add to the dead don't die once it's done i think that one is going to be finished when it's done

7. Is there anything new you’re tempted to try out? A new style/trope/AU/another person in the fandom?

i do not know...maybe inspiration will strike me for some danny fics...as for aus i'll probably delve into another one i won't lie to you i am not at all immune to them

8. Now to hype some other writers! What’s a piece you read back in the first half of the year that you can shout out?

Well, went to see avatar 2 yesterday. Had a lot of thoughts on it, that I have almost certainly forgotten.

To sum up, if you liked the first one you'll like the second. It unfortunately and unsurprisingly has similar weakpoints/critiscisms to the first, but, I think plotwise its stronger than the first (which isn't hard to do lol) but simultaneously has bigger weak points (at least 2 aspects that... contribute nothing)

Full spoilers obviously, but uh. Theres not really any huge revelations here. Its the first one again with more layers and also less on account of parts already being done.

The good:

The creatures obviously. Not asss strong as the first but well water-based life has a lot more restrictions tbh. Theres a reason a lot of unrelated fish look the same. The setting felt less alien and I'll be real Subnautica has already, excuse the pun, blown the standard for ocean spec bio out of the water, and wellll look, if its true they made these films ages ago but couldnt release them, thats a shame, it would have felt more innovative in a pre-subnautica world.

The Na'vi felt a lot more fleshed out in this one, a good sense there's a lot more to them than. Uncomfortable Space Native American Metaphor. However a bad point ahead completely dries up a ton of, and a ton of future, development to them as Not Just Space Native American Metaphors. Siiiiigh.

I liked that we got to see, well, more Na'vi who werent avatars! People critiscise their designs for being too human but the sequel makes it WAY more clear that the avatars are essentially *half human* and that the actual Na'vi are considerably more alien looking. This take annoys me so much I am a Na'vi Design Defender this is my Hill to Die On except the feet. God i hate their people feet. And that they dont have the neck holeess whhhyyy???

Stronger plot! Yes it's essentially the same film again in terms of Moral or whatever but its less of a straight course. The beginning was very strong, though I honestly felt it was contrived the reason they leave at all. I think staying in the forest and developing it more would be a better idea plot and setting-wise but its fiiiine. Its been ages maybe moving on was a good choice long term.

The sorta side plots of the kids, the outcast whale, they were good! I liked them! It added a bit more than just Same Movie Again but Water.

The bad:

Its still Avatar. It still has, a lot of questionable choices. Why does the water chief guy have a cape made seemingly of feathers. Have you seen a single feathered animal in avatar. Why not. Dried fish fins. Sea plant fabric. Something that isnt Feathers. You and I know why its feathers. And its a shame. Same as the first movie, it burns inside me there probably were innovative original ideas that got scrapped in favor of making the Na'vi read as. Well. Space Native Americans and now Space.... Maori? Like, the tattoos. :///// C'mooon its a cool idea in concept (whale tattoos. Amazing.) but youre just... taking that.. its just. Siiiigh. I really do hope its true this is actually like, technically a ten year old movie. It doesnt of course *excuse* all that but if you had decades to make another and you didnt listen to a major critiscism of the first that is easily fixable? Unexcusable.

And uh hey why does Jake have dreads. Maybe I didnt notice this in the first in which, okay, that's established if still a Wierd Choice, but uhh. I dont remember any of the navi having dreads, or curls or whatever at all... Their hair is kept around their neural link whip thing... Why'd they. Do that. The new water people had some curls which was cool, I shouldve paid attention to notice if they still had the neural hair braid. Cuz i really hope they just have a tentacle sticking out of their head when the hair isn't there that'd be cool. But yeahh ummm. Giving the White Guy dreads. I'm more of a benefit-of-the-doubt giver you can maybe tell but uhhhhh. I can't really think of a plausible reason for that choice that makes it not look. Bad.

Oh I forgot, the bad point I mentioned. The film translates Na'vi.

There is the sea sign language which I hope was a conlang at least. But uugggghhh.

It's just crushing. The whole reason I make conlangs, this movie. And well it's not gonna happen anymore.

Some of the plot points are useless. Why does the human kid exist. I thought he'd be a cool way to take the plot but uhhhh they do nothing with him! His only contribution was funny backtalk (which the other kids did better) and saving the Colonel. Which. Whhhyyy.

And the dreads again. Why? The colonel's a pasty white guy. Its already wierd for him to have a kid that wasnt mentioned or foreshadowed at all but. Huh???????? What. Why.

Speaking of, I really liked the Colonel as a villain in the first movie for his over the top villainy and generally likeable hateableness. I'd be fine with him being a returning villain... but hes just not as interesting and hes just. Boring this time. And well he's not dead so he's coming back again. Okay. I'd have preferred the exploitative whale hunter guys to have been the main villain here. They weren't developed much at all. Did they even get names???

In general the villains motivations were wierd. He just wants to kill Jake. What happened to unobtainium. The whale guys want the whales eternal life juice, cool. That goes nowhere really in favour of Kill Jake. Why aren't they colonising the forest now they know he's gone. I still don't see how him leaving was a good idea.

Conclusion:

In general I work on a basis of liking things as I know they Could Have Been rather than What They Are. Avatar is one of the best things ever from that point of view and I will defend that point of view, because I like being contrarian and well I want. More things like it to succeed.

But it's not that in reality. It's flawed, but in a way that is fundamentally... fixable. It's not like where I don't like something because at its core it cannot Get Better. But the Avatar in my head's real good.

Again, if the rest of it's creative production went how the music supposedly did... we were robbed.

Here's to a bunch more maybe? Hopefully of continuous improvements but uhh it's Avatar. I would be happy with more of the same which is prolly what its gonna be so yay for me and my low standards?

Percy finally went back to his room and the rest of the day went as normal. Breakfast, auguries(for Octavian), training, lunch, etc. During dinner, Octavian couldn't help but notice a certain son of the sea god was missing a certain blue teddy bear that a certain 10-year-old gave him.

So he went over to Percy.

"AHEM." Octavian declared. "Where on earth is your teddy?!" Percy looked around at his stuff. "Shit..." He whispered. Octavian crossed his arms and tapped his foot. "Perseus Jackson. Where is your teddy."

"Uhhhh...." Percy frantically kept looking and finally gave up, looking at the child and clearing his throat. "I have... absolutely no idea, Tavi."

"Octavian."

Percy rolled his eyes. Octavian glared at him. Percy fixed his attitude. "Fine. Octavian, I have absolutely no idea where the bear is." Percy grumbled.

Silence. Then, suddenly...

"PERSEUS JACKSON, HOW COULD YOU?! I GAVE YOU THE TEDDY TO KEEP. YOU LOST HIM?!" Octavian screamed. Percy panicked and looked around. Everyone's eyes were wide, except Reyna, who just facepalmed.

"U-uhhhhh—!" Percy cleared his throat and laughed nervously. "Uhh... O-Octavian, don't scre—"

"NO! YOU LOST YOUR BEAR!"

Percy sighed and stood up. "Octavian. You can't—"

In the middle of screaming in Latin about how Percy ruined it and how Greeks ruin everything and how upset he was he paused and rolled his eyes. "Fine. Only if you carry me."

SALLY IS ACTUALLY UNFORTUNATELY A BIT OF A BLIND SPOT FOR ME cuz i haven't watched a lot of AoStH or SatAM and haven't read a lot of the Archie comics... at her best, she's super cool though! she was used uhhhhh Poorly for most of archie's run, just acting as A Girl for sonic (and sometimes other male characters) to "win" or "lose" (rugh.) and... generally being misunderstood and mistreated by the men writing her (the team that came after the "original batch" of writers had their own problems writing characters esp women too but that's a whole other thing i again don't have too much authority on since i've read a series of VERY random archie issues over the past 12 years, mostly from the Tracy Yardley era and Sonic Universe actually lol)

at her core though, sally has always been that kind of "kick-ass royalty" type you get out of girls in media from the time period. active member of the cast, smart, funny, cool, realistic when needed, kindhearted but not foolish, a little exasperated by Oh You Boys. she's also always been sonic's girlfriend/love interest, which i feel like some people aren't aware of and think sonally is just from archie? they're if not outright dating just very comfortable and flirtatious with each other (they're childhood friends!) in SatAM. i actually had a couple episodes on again while doing dishes recently and there was a scene where sonic and sally kiss and their friends are just like standing around waiting for them to stop LMFAO

i take a lot of cues from this sally as well as the Sonic Riders design ethos when dressing my own sonic ocs actually! she's so sporty and fun, i love her. her bright red hair is really nice too, imo. she lost her eyebrows though :(

mmmm i forget what the point was. but yeah, unfortunately i don't know much about sally's use in canon/spinoff material... but what i've seen of her i really like (other than the royalty thing though, i don't like sonic(the character)'s world having a rigid political system especially one based on royalty sorry LMFAO. it's weird!! and also enabled a lot of wack writing for sally in archie!!!) she's a really fun character when written well and given a proper role, and i think she's a really neat companion for sonic (not necessarily romantic... their dynamic is really fun when it isn't bogged down by boring love triangles, they bounce off each other well). i think the idea of sonic having a childhood friend like sally is really neat, especially when you add tails to that history. weird little misfit friendfamily

unfortunately, sally probably won't ever be used officially again. i know the IDW team especially Ian Flynn really want to... but if they did, they wouldn't ever be the same as they were before due to the agonies sadly, and IDW does have a good amount of characters similar to sally now (though i will NEVER say no to more cool girls. in fact give me more. outnumber the cool boys, i demand it). but still! it'd be neat to see her in action in official material again. for now though, she and the rest of the freedom fighters are at narrative rest

but sally still remains a beloved part of the fandom! i still see fanart of her, and i see fans remixing current storylines and putting her and the other freedom fighters back into the cast. i'm glad that at least she hasn't been forgotten
