Hi super sorry if your request aren’t open.
I had this thought about Zuko x waterbending reader and maybe they could be related to Hama (like a grandma or something) and r basically it’s difficult to explain but Zuko and reader started dating after the war and he tries really hard to get Hamas approval because he’s from the fire nation and Hama ends up sorta accepting him but is still hella weary about him
‘Dinner’- Zuko x female!reader
An: HIYA! So as to not be annoying I’m leaving my lil disappearance explanation at the bottom, enjoy 🫶
(As usual, thank you for your request and patience it means a lot 💕)
Warnings: fighting/agression but it’s brief dw (this is also a very short piece)
You smiled as a candle flickered in your room, kicking your feet as you read a letter your boyfriend, Zuko, wrote to you. He detailed in it his most recent endeavours as a fire lord, as well as affirmed that he could in fact come for a visit. You had been planning to move to his palace soon, as per his request, but he was afraid your grandmother, Hama, a ruthless fire nation hating blood bender who might just hate Zuko, would not be on board. You decided the easiest way was to have them both over for food, and you’d prepared a huge feast of different delicacies of both nations. Zuko was meant to arrive in about an hour, and Hama was already down stairs washing up. She vaguely knew you were going to introduce her to someone, just not entirely aware of who. You shoved the scroll into another backpack you packed for your move, which was supposed to take place a week from now if all goes well.
You walked over to the window sill and sat on a cushion you placed on the protruding wooden part, sighing. You wandered in an endless maze of thoughts, until a face appeared in front of you. You squeaked, almost falling backwards but you caught yourself. Shaking your head, you unlocked the window and pulled zuko in.
“Dude?” You questioned, pulling him in for a hug.
He smelled like the sea, you noted, originally expecting the smell of a certain beast on him.
“Sorry- I got nervous,” you giggled, pinching his pouty cheeks.
He grinned, dipping you into a passionate kiss that screamed ‘I miss you’ in every language. His hand trailed to your back, and yours his hair. Just as things began to escalate, the door swung open.
“YN!”
Immediately, you pushed him away, and he stumbled backwards. Both your eyes landed on your grandma, who was as pale as a ghost.
“I can explain!”
“What kind of nonsense is this?”
Zuko was frozen, from the long list of things that could've gone wrong, this did not even make the top one hundred list.
“Grandma, this is Zuko,” you calmed down, “My boyfriend,”
He snapped out of his trance and extended an arm to shake with her. She walked out, leaving a small stone to prevent the door from closing again.
“Sorry about her,” you groaned, embarrassed that she left him hanging.
He retreated his arm, shoving it into his pocket, “She already thinks I suck. It’s over.”
“It’s okay she’s easy to win over,” you smiled sweetly, contrasting the lies that currently fled your lips.
Stiff, awkward, weird… all of the above.
You couldn’t relax for this dinner, things were so tense after what just happened. He didn’t even get to say hello before she saw his tongue down your throat and now she probably is a hair away from blood bending him into a ball. And he could tell she hated him- when he asked you to pass him a spoon she threw it at him. She missed…
“So, why don’t you tell her about yourself Zuko,” you broke the silence.
His eyes widened, suddenly being put on the spot, “Well I-uh-um-“ he coughed.
“He helped the avatar end a hundred year war,” you chimed in.
“Yeah so he can start a 200 year war all on his own,” she remarked, glaring at him. “All fire folks are the same,”
“Gram, give him a chance, he’s trying his best,” you held his hand over the table, rubbing your thumb in comforting circles.
Suddenly, a fork came hurling at you, and when you both dodged your hands away, you found it embedded in the table.
“Right…” you breathed out.
She stood up abruptly, folding her arms, “Yn, come outside, now,”
“Yes ma’am,” you replied, looking back at Zuko with a worried expression.
You shut the creaky wooden door behind you and adjusted your garments as you stood by here on the patio.
“A fire nation boy?”
“He’s different… he’s not what you think he is,”
“That’s what they all say Yn, he’s bad news.”
“What about him is bad news?”
“Everything. Especially the fact that he’s a ticking time bomb.”
“He’s a good man.”
“Are you forgetting his past? He attacked the avatar!” Your eyes widened, “That’s right, I did my research… I know every little thing he did and so help me if you dare leave this house with him I will make sure that’s the last time either of you see each other.”
“You can’t do that!”
“Who’s gonna stop me?”
Your eyes brimmed with tears- it was one thing to ban you from seeing him, but a completely other thing to treat you like a child. You were old enough to make these decisions on your own. You huffed, storming back inside and waltzing into your bedroom, slamming the door with a lot of force.
Hama sat back down at the table, smiling before she flipped it onto Zuko. He gasped, standing up quickly to avoid being crushed. She stomped around the table and got up in his face, grabbing the collar of his shirt. She was surprisingly strong for her ancient age.
“What do you want from her?”
“To be with her,”
“Why?”
“Because I love her,”
“WHY?”
“WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?”
She pushed him onto the ground, lifting her arm as if about to bloodbend him. He’d heard the tales of what she was capable of from his friends, and he felt his heart drop.
Zuko froze, waiting, shielding himself and closing his eyes.
“Aren’t you gonna firebend?” She asked, a bitter sounding tone.
“No.”
Just then, you exited your room, finally having collected your bearings. There, you found Zuko almost curled up on himself, and Hama glaring at him. He breathed heavily, and she looked as if a blood vessel was about to pop. You immediately rushed to his side, helping him up to his feet and checking him for wounds. He was fine of course.
Your hand brushed against his cheek and he closed his eyes, humming, “I’m fine,”
“What did you do?” You yelled, looking at the old lady.
“I tested him.”
You laughed sarcastically, “And did he pass,”
“With flying colours,” 2 out of 3 pairs of eyebrows flew upwards, you and Zuko exchanged glances. “For now,”
After a bit of cleaning up, you finished the night with Zuko in your bedroom, sitting at your desk.
“Is everything okay?” You asked, leaning against the table.
“If she doesn’t even want me near you, how on Earth are you going to move in with me?”
“That’s… that’s a great question.”
An: OKAY SO idek where to start I basically obv got back to school and I had exams and then even MORE EXAMS coming up (send help) BUUUT I mainly just lost my spark and interest in writing but it feels wrong to continue to ignore my inbox so I’m gonna try my best to clear it soon. If you have requested I’m genuinely so so sorry it’s taken this long I’m sure you’re mad at me but hopefully not too mad don’t hate me okay bye love you 🩷

A Frosty Friend
Pairing: Zuko x Reader Word Count: 782 Prompt: @fluff-cember Day 3: snowman Summary: You help Zuko make a snowman for the first time. Warnings: mild language, mentions of firebending, mild teasing, brief physical touch, implied emotional vulnerability
The crisp winter air stings your cheeks, but you don’t mind. The snow-covered Earth Kingdom village feels like a dream, its narrow streets lined with snow-laden rooftops and quiet serenity. You kick a puff of snow with your boot, grinning as the powder swirls in the breeze. For someone who’s never seen snow like this before, the possibilities seem endless.
Behind you, Zuko walks with his usual guarded intensity, golden eyes scanning the quiet village for threats that aren’t there. His breath fogs in the cold, and his arms are crossed tight over his chest as if he can will the chill away through sheer determination.
You stop in your tracks and spin to face him. “Let’s build a snowman.”
Zuko raises an eyebrow. “What?”
“A snowman,” you repeat, crouching to scoop up a handful of snow. “You’ve seriously never built one?”
“No,” he replies flatly. “And I don’t see why we should start now.”
“Because it’s fun,” you say, tossing the snow lightly into the air and catching it. “When’s the last time you did something just for fun?”
Zuko exhales sharply, his brow furrowing. “This is ridiculous.”
“Oh, come on,” you tease, stepping closer. “What would Aang say if he saw you refusing to enjoy the snow? He’d probably call it a crime against nature or something.”
That earns you a dry glare, but after a moment, Zuko sighs. “Fine. But if this is some elaborate scheme to make me look stupid…”
“Too late,” you quip, grabbing a handful of snow and starting to roll it into a ball. Zuko mutters something under his breath but crouches beside you.
At first, he watches as you roll the snowball across the ground, the base growing larger with each pass. “You’re just rolling it?” he asks, his tone skeptical.
“That’s how you start,” you say, grinning. “Then you pack it tight.”
Zuko hesitates before scooping up a handful of snow. His movements are stiff and cautious, as if he’s handling something explosive. “Like this?”
“Yeah, but more pressure,” you instruct. “It’s snow, not glass.”
He huffs and presses his hands into the snow, his brow furrowed in concentration. For someone who regularly wields fire, he’s surprisingly meticulous about packing the snow. It’s kind of endearing.
After a while, the two of you manage to stack three uneven snowballs atop one another. Zuko steps back, frowning critically. “It’s… lopsided.”
“It’s perfect,” you counter, brushing snow off your gloves. “Now it just needs a face.”
You gather pebbles for eyes and a crooked twig for a nose, then start sticking them onto the snowman. Zuko watches with his arms crossed again, his skepticism palpable. “This is what people do for fun?”
“Yep,” you say, sticking on the snowman’s mouth with a flourish. “And now… it needs something extra.”
You step back, tilting your head as you study your creation. The curved base, the round body—it reminds you of something. Or someone.
“It looks like Appa,” you declare, grinning.
Zuko snorts softly. “Appa? Really?”
“Don’t tell me you don’t see it.” You point to the snowman’s round shape. “All it needs are some horns and a tail.”
Zuko mutters something about wasting time but crouches to help anyway. He shapes a stubby tail at the back while you add twigs for horns. His hands are sure and steady, and you’re struck by how much effort he’s putting into something so simple.
When you’re done, you step back together to admire your work. The snowman—Appa, you’ve decided—looks ridiculous but lovable, with its lopsided body and crooked grin.
“It’s not terrible,” Zuko admits grudgingly, his golden eyes scanning the snowman. “For a snow bison.”
You grin and nudge his arm. “See? You’ve got a hidden creative side.”
“I don’t have a creative side,” he replies, though the faintest smirk tugs at his lips. “I just followed your instructions.”
“Sure, sure,” you say, laughing. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Your Majesty of Snow Sculpting.”
He huffs, but his ears turn red—not from the cold, you’re certain. The two of you stand in companionable silence for a moment, watching as snowflakes drift lazily from the sky, catching on your snowman’s horns.
When you glance at Zuko, his gaze isn’t on the snowman anymore—it’s on you. The usual intensity in his eyes has softened, replaced by something warmer, quieter. It makes your chest feel lighter, like maybe, just maybe, you’re chipping away at his icy exterior.
“Thanks,” you say softly, nudging his arm again. “For helping.”
Zuko shrugs, but the corner of his mouth lifts in that almost smile you’re starting to recognize. “It wasn’t terrible.”
And for a fleeting moment, in this snowy little village, everything feels just right.

Jasmine Tea
Imagine asking Zuko to take part in an Earth Kingdom game…
One of the young boys tugged on the fabric of your robe. The attention didn’t go unnoticed as you had just finished pouring a cup of tea for a customer. The guest smiled a pleasant thank you before leaving you to turn to your small friend.
“Hi, Yun.” You chuckled when his tugs quickened for urgency. “What mischief are you up to today?”
“Will you play Rock Ball with me? My friend Baso was supposed to be on my team but he got sick.” The boy requested kindly. He was filled with such hope, learning to trust you so quickly in the short time that you were present.
You wanted to say yes in a heartbeat but the clattering of tea cups reminded you of reality.
“I’d love to but I promised Mr Mushi that I’d help here tonight.”
Yun sighed and looked at the ground, kicking a pebble sadly. The expression of heartbreak tore you in half. It was like upsetting Aang - something that you never wanted to do.
Bending down, you set the tea tray on the ground for a few moments. You raised a hand to sit below Yun’s chin and brought him to look at you.
“Hey. I might not be able to play with you but I’ll ask Lee.” You offered.

Why aren’t you written for ATLA anymore :( i really enjoyed reading your zukoxreader. I love your writing style 🥰.
Love you🩷🫶🏻
Hey love <3 Thanks so much for the compliments, it means a lot that you enjoyed my writing!
But the reason I don't write for ATLA anymore is the fact that every character in the show that I could write for is a minor. I am not comfortable for writing x readers anymore with anyone under the age of 18
Sorry about that, but at the same time not just because of how comfortable I am with writing something
Thanks for being so sweet about it though and I hope you have a really good rest of your day!! <3

Thank you.
Your doing great guys. And congratulations on 100 followers:)
hey thank you so much <3 i'm so glad someone finally requested Zuko, he's so cute!!
100 follower event~ N/SFW
Zuko x reader: oh no, there's only one bed
- You are part of the avatar gang and are traveling with them. Zuko has recently joined you guys and the gang is slowly warming up to him.
- You had been getting along with everyone pretty well. And after Zuko joined you realised you actually have the most in common with him. You two became pretty close friends and would talk quite often.
- Your platonic feelings became replaced with romantic ones overtime when you watched Zuko teach Aang how to fire bend.
- One night, Zuko noticed that his fire bending powers have significantly weakened. He decides to train and increase his power. While practicing his fire bending, he accidentally sets fire to everyone's belongings. Luckily Katara was able to put out the fire before the damage was severe. Turns out only Zuko's tent was damaged in the fire.
- Everyone decides that Zuko will sleep in Sokka's tent tonight and they'll go get a new one for Zuko tomorrow. They all go to bed for the night.
- Zuko lets Sokka get settled in first, opting instead to gaze at the stars with you in companionable silence.
- Once you turn in for the night, Zuko walks into Sokka's tent to find Sokka sprawled across the entire tent. Zuko tries moving him over to try and find some space but the jostling only yields in Sokka's cock slipping out. It resembles a shriveled raisin and Zuko mutters, "That's rough, buddy." and leaves the tent to report to you his findings.
- You're surprised to find the crown prince at your tent at this time of the night. You look at him questioningly and he shrugs shyly and starts babbling about raisins. You sigh and invite him in thinking it can't be helped. You figure it was too much to ask Zuko to share a bed with Sokka no matter how friendly they had become.
- Suddenly it crosses your mind that there is only one mattress in your tent. You look over at Zuko and it seems that he has realised this too based on the redness on his face (no not his scar, he is blushing).
- You get a bit flustered thinking about how you're going to be sharing the same mattress with a great and handsome guy like Zuko. After a small awkward silence Zuko offers to sleep on the floor.
- Right when he's starting to move his body towards the floor you grab a hold of his shirt to stop him. "It's gonna be hard for you to sleep on the floor, let's just share the mattress. We're friends after all, it's fine." you say with a smile on your blushing face.
- You sit on the mattress and pat the small space next to you. Zuko joins you but refuses to look at you. You put the blanket over the two of you and lie down thinking if you act like everything is normal then maybe he'll feel more comfortable.
- Zuko eventually lies down next to you. Your backs are touching each other and you can feel the warmth emanating from him. It feels so strange to be in such close proximity to him. You both are really good friends but you've never been this physically close to him.
- A few minutes pass and you feel Zuko moving around a bit. You hear him whisper "Uh hey y/n.. are you asleep?". "No I can't sleep for some reason."
- A few seconds pass. He whispers again "Maybe this isn't the right time to say this, but thank you for everything you've done for me. All my life it's been so hard for me to be accepted by others. Yet you accepted me and made me feel so welcomed even though we've known each other for a short amount of time." You feel and hear him move around again, this time he flipped over and your back is pressing against his chest. "You mean a lot to me y/n".
- You flip around as well now your chest is pressed against his. You look into his eyes and see a very tender and loving gaze staring at you. You reply, "You mean a lot to me too Zuko. Meeting you has made my days livelier than they used to be."
- Both of you are staring into each others eyes, and Zuko's eyes flutter back and forth between your lips and your eyes. Taking the hint, you close your eyes and lean forward planting a gentle kiss on his lips. He reciprocates a little sloppily, but lovingly.
- He wraps his arms around your waist, while one of yours is on his shoulder and the other is in his soft hair. Your chests are so close, the tent feels like it's getting hotter and you feel something hard pressing against your stomach.
- One of your hands roam downwards and palms his member. Zuko lets out a moan and starts paying attention to your neck. The heat in the tent increases and you're sweating even more.
- Now that his attention is on your neck you open your eyes slightly to get a peek. As your eyes open you see red all around you. Your tent is on fire.
- Holy shit your tent is on fire. You see small fire sparks on the surface of Zuko's body. He had been producing fire without realising it. You push a very puzzled Zuko off of you and open the entrance to the tent. You grab his arm and get him out of there with you.
- You both watch the fire grow bigger and bigger while holding hands. Katara awakened by the smell of smoke puts the fire out once more and goes back to bed.
- Zuko and you cuddle and fall asleep on the ground upon the ashes where your tent was.
your bed lover,

Lie to me
Sub GN!Reader x Unspecified Dom w/ he/him pronouns
Genre: untitled smut prompt in which y/n is pretty damn desperate for relief 😃 not associated with any specific character, but could be Zuko from atla or Asra from the Arcana. just for fun and not proofread :)
contains: dom/sub dynamic, begging
--------
"i'm so horny, baby", you say, quietly. "i need release. i can't think straight. i can't think about anything else."
"you wont cum yet, baby. at least not with permission."
your face takes on desperate features and your breath hatches.
"please", you breathe with so much need that you feel tears building up in your eyes, but he shakes his head.
you mirror his movement, looking around the room frantically, searching for any kind of solution, any kind of possibility, any kind of release. your eyes stop as a desperate, filthy idea hits you.
"then lie to me", you say, looking up to him. "please, just tell me you'll let me cum. i need that security just for a moment. just lie."
he furrows his brows and laughs.
"oh, sweetheart?", he laughs, "are you really that desperate? that horny? enough to beg me to lie to you, even if you know it's not gonna be true?"
you swallow.
"yes."

Imagine being Mai’s younger sister and having a reciprocated crush on Zuko ever since you were kids. For obvious reasons, neither of you acted on your feelings but when you reconnect as adults things are different.
Part two here
Part three here
___
You were Mai’s younger sister, only a year younger but that year made a big impact on your life. The age difference meant when Ursa and Ozai were looking for companions for Azula, despite being three years older, Mai was sent as she was the eldest. After a few supervised playdates Mai was selected and you weren’t surprised in the slightest. Mai was everything you wanted to be, responsible, well-behaved, beautiful and respected. Your family adored her because she was the perfect daughter and no matter what you did you couldn’t get out of her shadow.
Mai was so perfect she even started dating the future Firelord when she was 13. You’d seen that coming too. You knew Mai had a crush on Zuko for years and that had always made you wary of Zuko. The truth was being the same age as him you saw a lot of Zuko and you also liked him but learnt early on he was Mai’s.Your sister liked him and you wouldn’t do anything to get in her way. So you just focused on being Zuko’s friend until apparently that was too much as well. Azula informed you one day when you were 12 that Mai was jealous of you and Zuko doing homework together. Azula was ruthless with her insults, she called you cheap, jealous of Mai, desperate for Zuko’s attention and a thousand other things that stuck with you. So from that day you stopped interacting with Zuko when you could help it. You never wanted to cause trouble and were used to putting your wants and feelings to the back of the pile so just did that, no matter how challenging it was. You saw Zuko almost every day at school and sometimes more. He was dating Mai so he was always around and it sometimes led to interactions. He’d ask you to pass Mai a note or give you something Mai had left at his. The worst times were when he’d come over to yours after school. As Mai was in the year above she finished earlier and so Zuko would walk with you to your home. You weren’t sure why he did it, you’d been distant with him for long enough. You refused to speak to him apart from nods if he asked you a direct yes or no question but still he’d walk beside you all the way to your home. It was tense and uncomfortable every step but still the next week Zuko would do the same thing and you could never work out why.
Your crush never faded but you managed to place it in the background where you could ignore it. You never bothered with dating because honestly you didn’t feel that excitement with anyone like you did around Zuko. You didn’t see the point in getting involved with people unless you liked them so you rejected every boy. Which caused great aggravation between you and your parents. By the time you reached 19 and still hadn’t brought home one suitor your parents were at their limit. "We thought Mai would be the one with no prospects but she’s dated two very respectable men" your father frowned "whereas at 19 you haven’t had a single partner". You resisted the eye roll "maybe not but i am very high up in my profession”. Mai didn't even have a job you wanted to add but you refused to tear down your sister just to make yourself feel better. Your accomplishments alone should be enough. You worked at the Boiling Rock prison, your uncle had gotten you the job and you liked it. You wanted to help rehabilitate the prisoners and although many guards didn’t share your affinity you’d been climbing higher and higher and were finally in the position to enact some reforms. It was an impressive feat but of course your parents weren’t that pleased. In their eyes there was one main thing you were failing at and that surpassed anything you had done correctly. "A career is great but what about a family?" your mother asked "you can’t be alone forever". "Why not?" you burst "i can provide for myself, i don’t get lonely and i don’t like anyone enough to waste my time on them". Your father shook his head "it reflects badly on our name if you are not married, Mai at least gave suitors a chance not to mention her and Zuko will inevitably get back together but you are too selfish to try. It’s not just about you, your actions impact us too. What will it look like for us if our daughter is alone forever?".
The argument went round and round with no conclusion. Your parents refused to listen and you refused to sell yourself for the family name. It was like this every time you came home so you avoided it as much as you could but this was a monumental occasion. You had an audience with the Firelord to pitch him your suggested reforms. You waited in the reception for your appointment while your parents voices replayed in your head no matter how many times you tried to banish them. This was too important, you wouldn’t let them ruin it no matter how badly the odds were stacked against you. Everyone at work had said your task was impossible, that the Firelord would never care about something as “unimportant” as reforming the prisons. They’d pointed out that Ozai would not have cared so why would his son be any different. You suspected they were correct but you’d gotten this far and at least had to try.
A Kyoshi warrior appeared and told you to follow her. She explained Firelord Zuko was very busy so your meeting had been halved in time. That didn’t ease your anxiety. You were shown into a room and minutes later Zuko entered. You hadn’t seen him in years, not since his break up with Mai, but he hadn’t changed much. Despite knowing him since you were 5 you’d been trained to respond appropriately to royalty and bowed immediately. Zuko told you to rise before he paused "y/n? My meeting is with you?". You nodded meeting his eyes fleetingly "yes i’m the general at boiling rock, i thought you knew....". "I knew you worked there but had no idea you’d risen so high" Zuko smiled "well done i’m sure your family is very proud". You looked away awkwardly and chose not to answer "i understand you don’t have a lot of time so thank you for seeing me". Zuko nodded his head "yes i’m sorry for shortening it, if i’d have known it was you i would’ve pushed my other appointment back instead but i’m afraid now it’s too late". "It’s okay i can condense it down into a 3-minute talk" you said in business mode and launched into your proposal. Just 1 minute in Zuko stopped you and you felt your stomach fill with dread. He wasn’t even going to let you finish before he dismissed your reforms. You sighed sadly when Zuko stood up "i think i can save us both some time, i agree with everything you’ve said and move we pass these reforms". You blinked "what?". "I agree with you" Zuko said simply "i’ve seen how the fire nation punishes people and i don’t like it, i say we start working on these immediately, are you free some time next week to discuss them thoroughly?". You blinked "to discuss them with you?". Zuko nodded "i’d like to help with this as much as i can and support your project fully, i’m free next Wednesday how about we meet and discuss them all in-depth?". You blinked "that’d be amazing thank you Firelord". "Zuko" he said correcting you "come on y/n we’ve known each other since we were kids you don’t have to call me that, at least not when we’re alone". You looked down embarrassed and nodded "thank you...Zuko". Zuko smiled "no problem, now i’m really sorry but i do have to go. So i’ll see you next Wednesday, send my best to Mai and your parents" and Zuko left the room.
You were utterly shocked by your meeting, as was everyone at the prison, and wondered if it would all come crashing down on you. Maybe Zuko would realise Firelords didn’t tend to be so helpful and cancel the whole thing but no such message arrived and so the next week you arrived at the palace. Armed with stacks of your plans you entered still half expecting to be turned away but were led inside. You were taken straight into Zuko’s study where he already sat waiting. "Y/n" he smiled "it’s good to see you again". "You too....Firelord Zuko" you said glancing at the guards in the room. "Dismissed" Zuko said and they left. "I pretty much have all day so don’t worry we don’t have to rush" Zuko told you before he glanced at the table. "Given it’s early i’ve got us some tea and breakfast things if you’d like a cup?" he said gesturing to them. You paused surprised, Zuko was very friendly and not anything like Ozai, it was hard to believe they were related. "Erm yes please but shouldn’t i?" you asked as Zuko went to prepare the tea but he shook his head immediately. "I’m Firelord not dead" he replied and began pouring the tea. He passed you a cup and took a seat across from you "now i promise no interruptions this time, tell me your ideas".
You and Zuko discussed the reforms all day and you were thrilled how much he agreed to pass. It would be a lot of work but as you finished up you were hopeful and excited, you could do this. You could actually make a long-lasting positive change!
You packed up your belonging in this haze when Zuko paused thoughtfully. "I have an idea" Zuko said "this is a very delicate and intricate proposal so how about we monitor it closely, we could meet say every week to go over its progress and discuss it?" Zuko asked. You paused "are you sure that’s not too much of your time?". "Of course not, i meant what i said, I like this project. It will do a lot of good, it’s just getting it there". You nodded your head "thank you that sounds great". Zuko smiled "perfect so we will meet every week to discuss this, it will be informal don’t worry and i’ll cover the costs of your travel, would you like to stay in the palace or at your home?". "My home is fine" you said even though the thought of seeing your parents every week pained you. Zuko smiled "great, how is everyone? Mai? Tomtom? Your parents?". "Mai’s good" you smiled "she’s happy" you said awkwardly trying to not mention her boyfriend which Zuko saw right through. Zuko smiled "y/n i know Mai is dating Kei Lo you can talk about it, we broke up almost 2 years ago". "Or course i just didn’t want to upset you". Zuko chuckled "as great as your sister is i am officially over her" Zuko smiled "so how is Tomtom, he must be big now?". You nodded "he’s nearly 7". "No!" Zuko cried and you laughed "i know! I still remember when he was born, it feels like yesterday". Zuko smiled “and your parents?". "They're fine" you said quickly and Zuko noticed how quickly your walls came back up. Something was clearly bothering you relating to your parents however Zuko understood parents were difficult so he didn’t push you. He thanked you for coming and led you to the door hoping whatever it was, one day you’d confide in him about it.
You returned the next week and every week after and found Zuko to be just as friendly and unfirelord-like. You also noticed how with the preparation springing into place these meetings no longer needed to be as intense or frequent but still Zuko scheduled them weekly. You wondered why when it occurred to you, Zuko might be lonely. Growing up his only friend had been Mai but she had also been his girlfriend. Now they’d broken up, his father was in prison, Azula was on the run, his mother & other relatives all lived far away and the avatar and his friends were constantly travelling...Zuko was the same age as you but so alone. You knew how that felt and so you didn’t stop the meetings either.
As time progressed the meetings also changed in their tone. Seeing as you could usually finish the business talk in an hour you and Zuko had taken to doing different tasks. From playing pai sho to feeding his newly hatched dragon Druk but your favourite was the palace gardens. Zuko had put a lot of effort into them and they were more beautiful than you ever remembered. So weekly you and Zuko would spend hours outside in them, talking and sitting together.
Zuko noticed how you were slowly but surely warming to him. You had always been careful and cautious around him in the past and that hadn’t changed but as the weeks went by you smiled more and actually looked him in the eye. You even started asking him questions about himself and his life. Your confidence grew and Zuko couldn’t escape how happy it made him feel to realise you felt safe around him.
One week you and Zuko were inside eating lunch together when his head guard Suki appeared. "Firelord Zuko i’m sorry but we have urgent business". Zuko nodded "what is it?". "Nobleman Rao has appeared unannounced at the palace, he claimed his cart broke down but considering he’s been pestering you for an audience for months that seems convenient. He’s here with his family and he wants to dine with you tonight". Zuko sighed "and if i refuse not only will i look rude but he will just stay longer". Suki nodded her head "as annoying as this is, i think the best thing would be to throw him a nice dinner and get him dealt with". Zuko nodded "tell him he can dine with me later". As soon as Suki left Zuko turned back to you. He tried to smile but you saw the weight this brought on him. "Is this man that bad?" you asked and Zuko nodded sighing. "He’s old fashioned and thinks he deserves respect just because of his family name. He constantly talks and demands a lot, i knew i’d have to see him eventually but i planned on having other people there too to try and balance his demanding nature. His wife is the same so i guess it’ll be two on one" Zuko sighed "i’ll be fine it just won’t be a pleasant evening". You frowned and an idea formed in your head "could i help?". Zuko looked up "what?". "Well perhaps i could help to ease the tension or to distract him from you? I don’t know i just thought if you wanted someone on your side there....". Zuko smiled, like your sister you weren’t known for being social unless you had to be so your offer meant a lot. "You’d do that for me?" he asked and you blushed "i mean i don’t want you to be overworked, you’re already doing so much...i want to help you". Zuko smiled touched "y/n that’d be wonderful, are you sure you don't mind?". You shook your head "not at all".
Hours later outside the royal dining room you regretted your decision. As soon as you’d finished eating you were rushed away by maids to prepare for a formal dinner. You didn’t have any fancy clothes so were made to borrow a royal dress so extravagant and expensive you felt like a peacock. You picked at the dress self consciously when Zuko appeared, also dressed in finery. You noticed him take in your outfit and sighed "i know i look ridiculous! It was the only dress they had on short notice so don’t mock me". "I wasn’t going to, you look beautiful". Zuko stared at you as he said that and you blushed vividly as you realised he wasn’t joking. "Sorry" Zuko said noticing he’d made you blush "but it’s true, you don’t look ridiculous at all". You blinked taking in Zuko’s compliment when he extended an arm to you “we should go in, are you ready?”. Still confused and blushing slightly you took his arm.
Zuko led you to the large dining room and stepped into the room confidently. You were amazed at how easily he could transform like that. He seemed to grow in size and morphed into an impressive confident king. You walked beside him slightly in awe and had trouble taking your eyes off him. Zuko brought you out of your daze as he introduced you to the nobleman. "This is my friend y/n" Zuko explained "she was visiting me too and so i invited her to dine with us". "The more the merrier!" Rao smiled and you smiled back politely but noticed him staring at the dress. Like Zuko he seemed to admire it but his stares made you uncomfortable whereas Zuko’s didn’t. As if sensing this Zuko seated you away from the man and placed himself in between as a buffer. You smiled at Zuko gratefully and took your seat.
The dinner was as Zuko expected. Rao was constantly asking veiled questions and prodding Zuko’s vague answers mercilessly. However as there were more people it was easier to change the subject and Zuko noticed you were particularly good at this. You deftly countered his questions with ones of your own and also quickly befriended Rao’s wife Uyaru and got her talking which left little room for her husband to speak. Zuko smiled at your hidden diplomacy skills and Rao was obviously annoyed at how this evening was turning out. When the dinner was reaching a close he tried to corner Zuko in a last attempt to get support on expanding his territory. You and Uyara were discussing something when Rao rudely interrupted her. “I’m sure the Firelord doesn’t want to hear about your trip to Ba Sing Sei” he said curtly “I’m sure he’d much rather hear about the news from his people. I’ve heard rumours from the northern providences that general Osonu is poorly managing his land and would be better off selling it to someone who can properly manage it. Has your grace given any thought to the matter?”. There it was and so blatant too, had the man no shame trying to steal land from a man who had done nothing wrong. Osonu was a good man who valued his residents more than his profits. His reputation was far better than Rao’s in a moral sense even if it wasn’t from an economic viewpoint but Zuko knew which he preferred. Zuko dodged the question but Rao kept on pushing and you intervened. "I thought your territory was the eastern providence sir?" you asked innocently. Rao paused "it is....". "ow? I was just confused because you have such a keen interest in the northern towns, do you have family there?". "No" he said awkwardly and you paused "I see, so it’s just a hobby then? Keeping track of historic lands that have belonged to the Osonu line forever and will always belong to them" you asked “I also love history” you smiled brightly. Rao paled and looked down “yes me too...so what are the plans for the comet this year?" Rao asked and Zuko smiled. Suddenly Rao didn’t want to talk about the Osonu lands anymore and it was all because of you.
The rest of dinner wrapped up rather quickly after that and as it finished Zuko felt so excited to leave the dining room. Finally with a bow, you and Zuko left and were securely back in his study. As soon as the door shut he spun to you a large smile on his face. "Was i okay?" you asked anxiously and Zuko laughed. An actual laugh escaped him and prevented him from speaking for several seconds which did nothing to help your nerves. Finally he responded "were you okay? Y/n you were perfect!" Zuko cried and you blushed. “You played his wife perfectly and then that feigning innocence with his territories i forgot how smart you are" Zuko smiled "but after tonight i’m sure I’ll never be able to forget again!”. You were a red mess and Zuko paused "y/n are you okay?". You nodded "i just...it’s nice to feel like i’ve helped you". "More than you know" Zuko said softly resting a hand on your shoulder. You glanced at it but didn’t move away, you just looked down with a light smile. “I’m pleased....perhaps next time I visit we should do something to celebrate?”. “Certainly” Zuko beamed and you smiled back feeling happier than you had in a long time.
Zuko watched you for a while longer before he seemed to realise what he was doing and looked down with a blush. “I’ll let you retire now, i’m sure you’re exhuasted from spending all that time smiling and nodding”. You nodded “it was tiring, I don’t know how you do it all the time”. Zuko shrugged “all part of being Firelord I guess”. You nodded “I know but I just wanted to say I recognise how difficult it is and say...well if you ever need anyone to stand by your side and help you get through it, I’m here for you”.
Now Zuko was the blushing mess. He’d felt alone for a while, his friends and family all meant well but they were so far away and he didn’t want to bother them with his problems. However here you were outight offering to help make his life easier no questions asked. Zuko was so pleased you’d come such a long way from the kids who hated one another and was excited about where this was going. He liked you, a lot and now he just needed to work out how to express that to you and make it into something more...but that was for a later time.
Zuko smiled “thank you y/n that’s very kind. I will be taking you up on that offer a lot I am sure”. “Anytime” you replied, meeting his eyes for a few seconds before looking away. “Goodnight y/n and thank you” Zuko bowed and you bowed back “goodnight Zuko”. Zuko got shivers as you said his name and they didn’t leave him even when he was back in his own room. He collapsed onto his bed and smiled at how well things had gone. Tonight could’ve been a disaster but because of you it’d been one of his favourite nights as Firelord. Zuko couldn’t stop smiling and decided he’d tell you how he felt as soon as he worked out the right way to do it and he knew just the man to talk to.
____
So i’m definitely planning one more part to this but might also have some ideas to turn this into a longer series! I’ll see how it goes :)

Story under cut, 8 of 8, Guidance Masterlist
Peace, a word often used in hope, was finally an option now. Ozai locked up. Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko ended the 100 Year War. ___ and Zuko did a quick and small wedding after his coronation. Their wedding was simple yet public to the nation.
Stigmas of all nations were a touchy matter, but everyone seemed like they wanted to thrive in this new world. After declared the end of the war, Zuko learned very quickly that the history taught in schools needed to be changed. Soon he realized this wasn’t enough. The older generations need to be taught the truth as well. As the young tried to teach the old caused more friction in his homeland. Elders and those out of school, all seemed to be prodigious against all outsiders, those of different nations.
The Gaang were off trying to gather all truths of the 100 Year War, from every corner of the planet. Taking a high notation of the brainwashed and propaganda used in the Fire Nation to appease the citizens. They wanted to rewrite history so it was true, not just the tales of the winners. A rare chance, as history is usually written by victorious crusades.
Fire Lord Zuko was doing his best in the meantime, trying to put out word of the need changes of false telling of his forefathers. Some elders were outraged until he brought out living proof of the devastation his nation has caused. Mothers speaking of lost sons, children crying out memories of departed loved ones, burn victims, refugees. Human trafficking that was allowed due to Fire Nation believing they were mighty, enslaving anyone who wasn’t born to their standards.
Although the past few months were brutal waves of truth, they sparked the proudest corners of his heart. Organizations forming to help those who needed it. Funding request to regrow towns, to make orphanages, filing systems to try and reunite lost families. Fire Lord Zuko was exhaustingly busy, helping regrow his nation out of the embers of isolation. But his dedicated wife made everything better.
Truly his safe harbor, his wings. In every situation he fretted over she would give sound options and resource information. The best support he needed, changing and adaptive, loving and caring. And above all; reasonable. Nothing ever too farfetched, nothing too impossible. If he thought her wrong, which was very rare, she’d find something to prove her right.
His wife, his queen, was truly the backbone of his support and his nation. And all while pregnant, so close to the end of her pregnancy, waddling everywhere. Although if anyone brought it up, just even in a joke, they’d be on the floor mid-laugh. Temporarily paralyzed.
With Zuko’s busy schedule he hadn’t been able to attend all of her checkups with the doctors for the pregnancy. But today he made time as he felt like she was hiding something. He knew she did it to protect him, to keep him from worrying, as he was starting to show so many symptoms of being a worrywart father already. Concerned about every movement and discomfort from his beloved spouse.
“Well, my dear, as we thought, we’re going to have to force labor.” The doctor stated calmly while putting his measuring tape away.
“What? Why?” Zuko was frantic.
“Baby has stopped growing, No growth from last week. She’s been small the whole pregnancy but was always on the tip of being just okay. You’ll likely have a very tiny babe.”
“Is it serious?”
“No, it happens, we’ll induce your wife this week just to be safe though. Measurement on the outside can’t be trusted. There’s a very high chance there is nothing wrong with the baby, they’re perfectly healthy. And we’re only inducing one week early, just to be safe.” The doctor patted Zuko’s shoulder, to ease his tension. “You get dressed, the nurse in the lobby will send a message when we’d like to schedule you for delivery.” He smiled at ___ and left.
“Is this what you were hiding? That the baby is small?” Zuko fretted as he helped her off the table
“Yes, but as the doctor said, it happens. It happened to his wife and his cousin. It’s common.” She took off the flimsy gown used for checkups, speaking as earnestly as she could.
“But-”
“Sweetie,” she placed her hands on the side of his face, pulling him down for a gentle kiss. “Everything is okay. The only worry would be if the baby does grow next week, but we’re not going to let that even be a worry. Because they’ll be in our arms before it’s a concern.”
Zuko sighed heavily as she pulled away to get dressed. But smiled as she struggled a bit to get her shoes back on, because of her beautifully swollen stomach. He smiled and helped her put them on before escorting her out of the office and home.
Standing beside ___ tightly hold her hand, while she sweated, panted, and even cursed some under her breath. Zuko was anxiously awaiting their child, while fretting over his loves pain, determined by the strength of her grip, almost crushing his hand at times. But if this was to help her while he felt completely useless, he’d endure anything. If it meant he could be of help in this moment when her scream of agony, racked through both of their bodies. As she panted, worn and drained, her eyes closed with a happy smile as they heard the first cry of their little one.
“It’s a boy,” the doctor quickly declared, it was the first word Zuko heard from the man since her sobs started. Zuko had never seen his sunflower glow so brightly while looking so defeated, her arms weakly lifting, wanting to hold the whimpering babe. “Would you like to cut the cord, Fire Lord Zuko?” A nurse was offering him some special scissors while the doctor was gently holding their child, cautiously looking over him to make sure there was nothing wrong on the surface.
Zuko barely remembers taking the special scissors but clipping the cord where the doctor instructed him, was a memory he’ll keep forever. Quickly the baby was placed on the mother, while the doctor worked to get the afterbirth out and nurses were fluttering about. Wiping the babe and tenderly lying a warm cloth over them, the infant curling into the warmth of his mother’s chest. Sweaty and dazed from pain, ___’s eyes and a smile never faltered from the precious bundle was placed in her heavy arms. How fragile, sweet, and utterly irreplaceable.
“He’s beautiful,” her sore voice was tender but raspy.
“Just like his mother.” Zuko kissed her head before leaning against her bed and glazing at the small cooing child as his head started to bob around. “Is he okay?”
A nurse nearby looked over and smiled at the concerned Lord. “Yes, he’s just rooting around, looking to feed. Do you want to try on your own first?” Her question was directed to ___.
“Yes, yes,” her reply was a bit absent-minded but she moved gingerly to direct him to her breast and showing him how to latch. Zuko watched intently as the two cuddled and interacted. The hour passed and the small one was taken for cleaning and measurements.
Finally, it was Zuko’s turn to hold the baby, who was now asleep from the activity of being born to eating the first time, bundled in a blanket. How he got to fawn over the baby, while the nurses took care of his beloved, cleaning her, getting her supplies. Once she was settled the nurses took the baby for more testing and to let the mother rest for a bit. Zuko went to ask what she wanted to name their baby, but she was passed out. She deserved it, so he just tucked her in and sat next to her patiently, rubbing his sore hand occasionally.
“Mako! I promise mommy will be home soon, then you can eat.” Zuko was desperately trying to calm the crying baby. He was a few months old, still nursing, but Zuko had seen how exhausted his wife was from taking care of the child basically on her own. He’d been slammed with royal duties; he’d planned this day for mom to get away and pamper herself. She’d given him enough bottled milk for this day, but Mako was drinking as if he’d never eaten before in his life. It was late in the afternoon, so should she should be back soon. Zuko paced.
Mako was viscously chewing and sucking on his fist, trying to calm himself as his father patted his back. Hoping he just needed to burp and not eat, even though his whines and cries were the ones that sounded like his hungry cry.
The drag of the door almost made Zuko cry in relief. Her small laugh, taking away all his worry. She looked rejuvenated while reaching for the whining bundle, making this long day for Zuko, completely worth it. He loved being a father, but he felt every out of step all day long, since it’d been at least a month since he took care of the child on his own.
Zuko was dazed by her smiling face as she nursed Mako. “You’re always saving me.” Zuko sighed before wrapping an arm around her, “what did I do to deserve you?” Kissing her temple before guiding her to the bed so they could sit together.
“Having your grandfather as the Avatar then having him as your best friend, that’s probably what you did. You helped save the world, so if I can help you, then that’s the least I can do.”
“You give yourself too little credit.”
“Like you’re one to talk,” she giggled softly before kissing him. “We both deserve happiness, let’s not question it further. Let’s just be a family, loving each other and helping others where we can.”
“Anything for you,” Zuko leaned his head against hers, closing his eyes and inhaling, taking in her scent and relaxing against her as their little one suckled.
“It looks like he’ll sleep after this feeding. Has he napped lately?”
“No, he ran out of milk a couple of hours ago then just wanted to play and giggle. Spent a lot of time on his playmat, batting at the toys.”
“Then we can have some time to ourselves. While he naps”
Zuko was a bit surprised, he honestly couldn’t remember the last time they’d been alone together, since Mako was born, not that he minded. But it’d be nice to spend some unaccompanied time together.
___ entered their room, after placing Mako in his crib in his room. She glanced around but didn’t see her love. “Zuko?” She called out softly, wondering if he’d left the room. As she turned to close the door, she spotted him. Leaning against the wall, his arms crossed. “What are you doing there? Not sulking again are you King Pout?” she teased as she shut and locked the door.
He grumbled softly before pulling her to him, resting his forehead against hers. “Just thinking about you, our time in the Earth Kingdom. How I could have lost you forever.”
“You could have, but you came back to me. And now we’re here, that’s all that matters.”
Zuko gave her a soft hum of agreement before turning her around, wedging her between the wall and his body. Her giggle was cut off as his mouth slotted against hers. As his hands and lips started to wander, she let out breathy moans, relaxing back into the wall. Gently taking his hair out then carding her fingers through it. As he bunched up the skirt of her dress, her leg followed up his and hooked on his hip.
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” She murmured after a light moan escaped. One hand of his was diligently pulling her underwear to the side. The other pulling the hem of her top aside to suckle across her collar bone.
He could barely hear anything outside her noises, as his fingers started to pump into her core. Chanting his name as he curled them into her soft sponge, her hand reaching down to stroke him through his trousers. His dick almost painfully pushing into her hip bone. He quickly pulled her hand off of him and pinned it up against the wall.
His fingers worked faster, making her keen and arch into him. Her breathing sped up with his actions. Her moans turned into pants and whimpers; her hips started to move with his hand. She was so close, Zuko groaned against her heated flesh as she tightened. Wanting her to reach her peak, he guided her hand to his neck before kneading her breast. He pushed another finger into sloshing folds breaking her pants, making her moan his name. He swallowed any other noises from her as he claimed her mouth.
Forming tight circles around her clit with his thumb, as his fingers, curled and pumped inside her. He knew the moment he started to touch her button, circling it and adding pressure it wouldn’t be long until she’d crash.
“Cum for me, Sunflower. Let me take care of you tonight. Cum baby,” he kissed her up her neck in between his words. A high-pitched whimper trembled her lips as the orgasm started to rip through her. His kisses and digits helping her stay on the high.
Waves of pleasure started to tamper off, she rested her head back against the wall, panting softly as he withdrew his hand from her. “Love you,” she pulled him closer to kiss him gently.
“I love you too,” resting his forehead against hers breathing her in before stepping back and tugging her towards the bed. Pull off her dress and soaked panties before kissing her and working on his own articles of clothing. “I’ll never get used to your wonderful body.”
“You will.”
“No, I won’t, because we’re growing older together every day, so there will always be something new to love.” Guiding her to lie down on the bed, under him. Settling his hips between her thighs as he scattered kisses across her chest. “A new wrinkle, a hair, stretch mark, I love them all and any new ones you get.”
“You’re sappy today,” she giggled as he huffed at her joke, gently nudging her folds with the head of his dick. Rubbing the tip, teasingly, against her throbbing core.
“Tell anyone, I’ll deny it,” he grumbled before slowly pressing into her, savoring her breathy sigh. He loved that sound and getting it every time, he sank into her constricting channel. That was something she’d never get used to, him filling and stretching her.
“I won’t,” a soft whine escaped her as he leisurely moved in and out of her. Zuko pressed into her deeply before stilling to kiss her deeply. Tongue, gentle brushes of teeth as he nipped on her lips. Not breaking the kiss, he pushed her legs to wrap around his waist. She crossed her ankles, pulling him down, closer.
“Zuko move,” she breathed pulling him down again and rutting her hips up. Zuko groaned softly resting his foreheads against hers.
“I wanted to go slow, enjoy this for a while. What do you want?” He started to pepper her face with his slightly chapped lips.
“Go slow another day, give me you,” she pulled him close and shoved her tongue into his mouth. Grinding her hips and purposely clenching down on him causing him to grunt. He gave her a grumbled fine, before snapping his hips into hers. The rapid movement causing her to moan, before she bit her bottom lip.
“We’re alone, don’t hold back on me, let me hear you,” Zuko used his thumb to gently pull her bottom lip free before thrusting harshly into her again. “Just. Like. That.” Every thrust followed with a pant or moan, punctuating his words with every drive of hips.
Salacious slapping of his hips into hers, echoed by moans and grunts from the two. Entangled limbs, sloppy kisses. Zuko was getting sloppier though, but he wanted her to release again before him. He needed to breathe, so he slowed down for a moment, kissing her more passionately. Reaching back, he grabbed one of her legs pulling it up onto his shoulder, one at a time. Circling his hips before grinding down, causing her to whimper out a wanton breath. He lied down on her more, almost pressing her knees into her shoulders.
Delicious burn went through her body as he bent her where he wanted her. A high thin whimper was his reward as he slammed into her, setting a bruising pace. Zuko grabbed her trembling hands as they wandered, looking for something to hold onto, entwining their digits and pinning them to the bed. Strangled noises and broken pieces of his name were all she could muster as he continuously abused her sweet spot. Tightening around him, as her coil started to wind making her feel him more, every vein.
Zuko’s grunts became feral and guttural. Soft praises and sweet words were murmured along with her name, as it became more difficult for him to pull out for every movement. Her cunt slopping wet, clung to him, sucking him back in every time he tried to pull back. His skin was so calmy, exerting himself to keep up his strokes. Trying to keep up his strength to make her snap.
“I can feel-” he growled lowly “-how close you are. I can barely move.”
Her reply was nothing more than broken pieces of his name and begging. Her legs were beginning to shake, she was so ready to let go but she needed more. Something to completely unravel her tension.
Prying his hand from hers; his traveled to her clit as hers gripped his hair. Also clawing at his scalp, he hissed before pinching her swollen bundle of nerves. Even with how he had her pinned, she was able to arch up, pressing into him more as she let go with a scream. Her spasming walls, pulled him deeper, the helmet of his dick snuggly against her cervix. Zuko nearly collapsed on her, as she milked him making him unable to move as his release pooled inside her. Trying to rut into her, help her ride it out.
“Sunflower?” Zuko panted out softly before pulling back to look at her face. She was so dazed on the verge of passing out. He couldn’t help the smile and pride at bloomed in his chest. It took her a moment, but she gave him a soft whimper, answering him. “Go to sleep, my love.” Pressing a kiss to her forehead then slowly pulled out of her.
He left to clean himself and by the time he came back, she was pliant within her deep sleep. Humming softly as he cleaned her, wincing at her soft whimpers as he did so. Her lips were swollen and her button was overstimulated. Zuko quickly discarded the rag, blowing out candles, before crawling into bed with her. Curling her into his chest, even asleep and in the dark of the winter’s moon. His sunflower gave him warmth.
Zuko fell asleep, knowing he’d be up in a few hours for Mako, to let his queen get a good night’s sleep for the first time in months. He started to dream of their future and the possibility of more children.
Author’s Note: I forgot the name Mako was in Korra until after I was proof-reading this and I am too lazy and uncreative to get a different name. I used that name since it’s the name of the voice actor of Iroh and no other reason.
This came out finally and sooner than I planned because I lost my job due to slow impact of COVID. But hey I’m pregnant and at this point, I’m kinda okay to have a few days to myself and just lazy about as I’ve been so sick. Milk and strawberries are my only craving and saving grace when I’m sick ahaha. Also, I wasn’t expecting it end with smut, but meh what can I say, it wrote in itself after the fluff ahha. The birth from this story is very similar to one of mine, as I’ve got two kids, for now.
I started a side blog, off this one, to support more artist and writers. So if you love a lot of different fandoms, especially MCU, as I’m migrating back into that fandom right now. Then I recommend following it to see my favorite fics and such :) You can follow it here; @lalahreblog
Once again thank you to @eridanuswave for waiting to be added/tagged on this series. This will be the last tag I do for you, as this is the last chapter unless you want to be tagged on any fics I do. Let me know~!

~
You don’t even know how you ended up traveling with the Gaang.
One day you had been living in a small Earth Kingdom town, helping out the Beifongs as Toph’s etiquette tutor and the next, you found yourself being tugged away from your home by the youngest Beifong. You couldn’t deny the fact that you finally felt free flying on the (abnormally cute) sky bison as you headed to who-knows-where.
You had nothing left for you back in the Earth Kingdom town you had been born in. You were the only daughter of a well-known family who had always been loyal to the Earth King. Unfortunately, they had been captured on a trip to Ba Sing Se and subsequently killed by the Fire Nation. With no family left to turn to, you proceeded to accept the Beifong’s offer to stay with them in return for you teaching Toph about high class etiquette.
Toph was an interesting girl and you found yourself being impressed with everything she did. You were always her number one supporter, especially when it came to her being The Blind Bandit. She was an extremely talented bender and in return for you tutoring her, she was your bending instructor and you became her only most promising student.
Eventually, Aang, Katara, and Sokka all filled you in about the banished Fire Nation prince and how he had chased the Gaang everywhere they had gone in an attempt to capture the Avatar. You and Toph were upset at the stories and were immediately anti-Zuko, promising to help Aang master earthbending as fast as possible.
You got along well with everyone, especially Sokka who was almost as talkative as you were. Of course the good vibes didn’t last long and you all found yourselves arguing as you found yourselves being chased by Azula and her friends. The situation had culminated in a battle at a small, abandoned town. You had arrived to see Aang being cornered by two people, each of them throwing fire towards the young Air Nomad.
Engaging with the person closest to you, you thrust your hands out, shooting a pillar of earth out and tossing the person into the closest building. Sharing a look with Aang, you waved him off. “Go! I’ll hold him off.”
“Be careful,” Aang warned, looking towards Azula uncertainly. “That’s Zuko.”
Your eyes widened as Aang ran off before turning your attention back to the boy in front of you. He struggled to get up before a burst of fire left him, sending rock debris everywhere. Quickly, you sent up another wall of earth, protecting yourself from the flying rocks before breaking it apart and sending it towards Zuko. The banished prince grunted before throwing a few fireballs towards you, causing you to stumble back and fall.
Eyes narrowing, Zuko made his way to you, pulling back his fist as fire formed around it. Groaning, you sat up, finally getting a good look at the boy in front of you. Almost immediately, a flirty smirk made it’s way onto your face. You quickly scrambled to your feet, bouncing up to him without any hesitation. You dodged his attacks, fighting back as you bit your lip.
“So...you’re Zuko?” you asked, dodging another punch. At this point, you were engaging in hand to hand combat instead of relying on your earthbending. Zuko didn’t reply, his eyes narrowing as he kept sending blasts of fire again.
“Aang told us about how you haven’t been able to capture him,” you continued, blinking innocently as Zuko became visibly angry. “But he failed to mention just how handsome you are.”
At your words, Zuko’s eyes widened and he misstepped, losing his focus at your words. You took that opportunity to step back as well before taking a strong step and raising your hands, encasing the banished prince in a slab of rock.
“Let me go!” Zuko cried out, steam coming out of his nose as he struggled. You stood in front of him, arms crossed as you stared at him. He truly was handsome, with piercing gold eyes and soft-looking black hair. You opened your mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by Sokka.
“(Y/N)! A little help here?” the Water Tribe boy yelped, narrowly dodging a blast of blue fire from Azula.
“Coming!” you replied, eyebrows furrowing in slight concern before you addressed Zuko once more. “It was real nice meeting you Prince Zuko. I hope to see you again under more pleasurable circumstances.”
With a wink, you sprinted away, jumping in front of Sokka and sending up a wall of earth as Azula struck again. You continued to sprint around, helping out whenever called out to you. The fight came to an end when you all had Azula cornered, and you sent a brief smirk to Zuko as you saw him standing near you. “Finally made it out huh?”
He had glowered at you and you simply rolled your eyes before turning back to Azula. “The whole tough guy act is hot but something tells me you’d look better with a smile.”
You missed his surprised look as Azula shot a blast of fire towards an older man, who you later learned was Zuko’s uncle Iroh. In the ensuing chaos she escaped, and you were left with a shaken Zuko and an injured Iroh. At Zuko’s threats insistence, the five of you left, looking back at him as you flew off on Appa. It was silent for a few minutes before you finally spoke up. “So, why didn’t you guys mention that Prince Zuko is hot?”
The only sound that was heard was Sokka slapping his forehead.
~
The next time you saw Zuko was in Ba Sing Se. You had been walking around with Katara, having stayed behind with her to plan the invasion. She was talking quietly as you looked around the city, pretending to be listening to her. On your shoulder, Momo was chattering quietly, also looking around with his large eyes.
You sighed softly as you entered a cozy-looking tea shop. You looked around in appreciation before you heard Katara gasp. Quickly, she grabbed your hand and whirled around hurrying out of the shop. You felt yourself crash into someone else, losing Katara’s hand and falling to the ground. You looked at the door before looking at Momo, shaking your head at Katara’s weird behavior.
“Are you alright?” a soft voice ask. You pushed yourself up, ignoring the hand in front of you before looking up. Your eyes widened in surprise as you found yourself staring at Zuko’s uncle. Iroh, you recalled vaguely. Recognition flashed in his eyes as he looked at you, remembering you as the earthbender who had trapped his nephew. Bracing yourself for the worst possible scenario, you nodded in response to his question, holding Momo to your chest.
“Would you like a cup of tea?” the retired general asked, a warm smile on his face as he guided you to a table. “You look like a jasmine type of girl.”
Sensing no ill intentions from the smiling man, you nodded. “Jasmine happens to be my favorite.”
“I see. It is my nephew’s favorite as well,” Iroh continued, gesturing to the boy behind the counter. You smiled as you noticed Zuko standing behind the counter, his back to you as he focused on whatever he was doing. Noticing your smile at the sight of his nephew, Iroh smiled as well. “I’ll send him over to give you your tea.”
“I would greatly appreciate that,” you said, your eyes not leaving the handsome boy.
You played with Momo when Iroh left, silently speaking to the winged lemur as you waited for your tea. You placed Momo in your lap when you heard someone set down a tray on your table, looking up to see Zuko standing there. “Hey handsome.”
Zuko glanced at you, doing a double take when his eyes met yours. “Y-You!”
He grasped your hand, pulling you out of your seat and towards the back as you struggled to hold on to Momo.
“Ow! Ow! Can you stop?” you hissed, pulling your hand away from him. You placed Momo on your shoulder before rubbing your wrist. You glanced down at it, noticing how raw it looked. “You really need to learn how to control your temper Zuko.”
“What happened here?” Iroh’s asked before Zuko could speak again. He gently took your hand in his inspecting the burn before turning to his nephew. “Now Lee, is this any way to treat our customers?”
“She isn’t a customer uncle,” Zuko replied bluntly. “She’s traveling with the Avatar. She is the earthbender who fought me the day you were injured.”
“You’re the earthbender who trapped my nephew?” Iroh looked at you in surprise. You nodded, causing the older man to chuckle. “You are a very talented bender.”
You blushed at the compliment before answering, thinking about Toph. “Thank you, I was trained by the best.”
“We must get this wrapped up. Come with me,” Iroh led you to a back room, where he proceeded to get some type of salve and some wrappings. “Zuko if you could please do this for me, I’m afraid I have to get back to the customers.”
Iroh left the two of you, but not before stopping and handing Momo a few litchi nuts. Momo chittered before jumping off your shoulder, landing on a windowsill as he began eating the fruit. You glanced at the burn once more before looking back at Zuko. “You know, you just gave the term ‘too hot to handle’ a whole new meaning.”
Zuko tried to hold his blush back at your words as he sat in front of you. He grabbed your arm, applying the paste and then gathering the wrappings, beginning to tie them around your wrist.
You hissed when he tightened it a little too much, pulling away from the boy. “Ow! If I wanted you to be rough with me I would’ve told you.”
This time, Zuko could not hold his blush at your double entendre. A faint smirk appeared on your face as you began to wrap your wrist.
“Let me do it,” Zuko muttered reaching for your arm.
“No,” you replied leaning away. “Trust me I can do it myself.”
“Why are you being so difficult,” the boy groaned, lunging for the wrapping. You leaned back too far, falling onto your back as you reached out for something to grab on to. The only thing you succeeded in doing was pulling Zuko down with you.
You stared at the boy above you. “When I told you that I hope we’d meet under more pleasurable circumstances, this wasn’t what I had in mind. Not that I’m complaining.”
Zuko stuttered for a few second before deciding to scowl at you instead.
“If I had known I was interrupting, I would’ve stayed outside. Prince Zuko, I never knew you were so good with the ladies,” Iroh’s voice floated in. You sat up immediately, only succeeding in getting closer to the prince. You tried to ignore the blush that you knew was visible on your cheeks.
“I would be honored to be wooed by such an attractive man,” you said, looking up at Zuko through your eyelashes. Iroh raised an eyebrow. “Unfortunately, I simply fell back and pulled your nephew down with me.”
“Well, as an apology on his behalf from earlier, let me offer you a nice warm cup of jasmine tea,” Iroh said, setting down a tray. “On the house.”
You smiled as you pulled yourself up, leaving Zuko on the ground. “It smells delicious but I am afraid I must get going. Katara must be wondering where I am. Thank you very much for the offer.”
You bowed before whistling sharply, causing Momo to fly to your shoulder.
“My nephew will walk you out. It was nice to met you...” Iroh trailed off as he realized that he had never asked for your name.
“My name is (Y/N),” you supplied, smiling.
“A truly beautiful name,” Iroh said, stepping away from the door. “It was nice to meet you (Y/N). I hope to see you again soon. Zuko, please walk her out.”
You bowed once more before you followed Zuko back out to the store. When you reached the steps, you turned around and faced him once more. “It was nice to see you again handsome. Let’s do it again sometime.”
Zuko’s reply was lost as you stepped forward, leaning up and pressing a soft kiss to his scarred cheek. “Have a nice evening.”
Momo’s chittering was the only thing that could be heard as you walked away. Zuko stood on the steps until he could no longer see you, the blush on his cheeks only intensifying when he remembered how your lips felt pressed against his cheek.
“It seems to me that she is the one wooing you,” Iroh said, hiding a smile.
“Shut up uncle.”
~
You didn’t see the handsome prince again until you had all safely escaped to the Western Air Temple. You had been trying to talk to Aang about learning firebending when you and Toph had felt someone arriving.
“Aang, I think we should be making some plans about our future!” Sokka exclaimed, trying to get Aang to pay attention.
“Okay, we can do that while I show you the giant Pai Sho table! Oh, you're gonna love the all-day echo chamber!” the air nomad replied, already preparing to run off.
Aang came to an abrupt stop when you sent up a wall of earth in front of him.
“I think that’ll have to wait,” Toph said, turning to face the newcomer.
“Hello, Zuko here,” the prince said, raising his arms up in greeting. Immediately, everyone except you took a fighting stance. You didn’t really pay attention to most of the conversation, too busy staring at Zuko’s hair. It had grown out some and to be honest, you thought it looked really good.
“Wait,” you interrupted, stepping forward slightly. “You look really good with your hair like that. Not to say you didn’t look good before but this, wow. you’re even hotter.”
“(Y/N)!” Sokka and Katara exclaimed at the same time. Sokka pulled you back before smacking you lightly. You smacked him back, the two of you bickering nonstop. You missed Zuko’s bewildered expression, along with most of the conversation.
“There's no way we can trust you after everything you've done,” Aang spoke, catching your attention. “We'll never let you join us.”
“You need to get out of here,” Katara added, a hard expression on her face. “Now.”
Zuko looked at you, his eyes pleading.
You sighed before speaking, your arms raised in surrender. “Look, I think you’re probably the most attractive guy I’ve ever seen-”
“Hey!” Sokka cried indignantly.
You ignored him. “But to be fair, you did send an assassin after us. Not to mention everything else you’ve done. I can’t help you handsome.”
“If you won't accept me as a friend, then maybe you'll take me as a prisoner,” Zuko said, kneeling with his hands out. You looked at Katara, a suggestive smirk on your face.
“(Y/N), stop,” she sighed before turning back to Zuko and bending some water. “No, we won't! Get out of here, and don't come back! And if we ever see you again, well, we'd better not see you again!”
Zuko bowed his head and turned to walk away, glancing back once more. For once, you didn’t meet his eyes.
~
“Has anyone seen Toph,” you asked as you rushed into the courtyard. “I haven’t seen her since yesterday.”
“I haven’t seen her since she stormed off yesterday,” Sokka said, polishing his sword.
“Maybe we should go look for her,” Katara said, noticing your distress.
“We’ll look for her!” The Duke said, rushing off with Haru and Teo.
You whirled around when you heard a loud rumble, only to see a gaping hole in the wall. Toph tumbled out of it, her eyes wide.
“Toph!” you exclaimed, wrapping her up in a hug. “What happened?”
“My feet got burned,” she replied, pushing you off of her.
Her feet were an angry red and you felt your anger rise up as you realized who had done it. “The next time I see Zuko I swear to the spirits that I will-”
“It was an accident,” Toph interrupted you, placing a hand on your arm. You bit your lip as Sokka carried her over to the fountain.
“Ah that’s the stuff,” Toph said, closing her eyes as she dipped her feet in. Soka opened his mouth to say something only to be cut off by an explosion. Being the closest to the source, you were flung back, metal and stone landing on top of you.
“(Y/N)!” you heard Aang yell as everyone else ran away.
“I’m fine!” you called back. “Go I’ll be okay.”
You bended as much earth as you could away from you, only to still be stuck when you realized you couldn’t move the metal.
“We have to get (Y/N),” Toph said, worriedly grabbing onto Katara.
“We will. Hold on,” Sokka said, staring at the blasts Combustion Man was sending their way. After a few more blasts, he was able to tell where he was and aimed his boomerang. The boomerang met it’s mark and they all ran out, Sokka and Toph immediately going over to you.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but thanks Zuko,” Aang spoke softly.
“Hey! What about me?” Sokka asked, helping you up. Your leg was injured but luckily nothing had been broken. Sokka was fussing over you, looking at the nasty bruise that had been left from the metal and you were trying to push him away, claiming that you didn’t need his help.
“...I’d like for you to teach me,” Aang’s words gained yours and Sokka’s attention. Zuko bowed.
“Thank you. I’m so happy you’ve accepted me into your group.”
“Not so fast,” Aang said. “I still have to ask my friends if it's okay with them. Toph, you're the one that Zuko burned. What do you think?”
“Go ahead and let him join,” Toph said as the pounded her fist into her palm. “It'll give me plenty of time to get back at him for burning my feet.”
“Sokka?” Aang asked.
“Hey, all I want is to defeat the Fire Lord,” the Water Tribe Boy shrugged. “If you think this is the way to do it, then, I'm all for it.“
“Katara?”
“I'll go along with whatever you think is right,” she said simply, glaring at Zuko.
“What about you (Y/N)?” Aang asked, already knowing what your answer would be.
“You’re telling me I’m going to have to see him every day?” you asked, gesturing towards Zuko. “That sounds like a dream come true.”
“Thank you,” Zuko said, redder than a tomato. “I won’t let you down.”
“I’m sure you won’t,” you replied. Groans were heard from everyone else.
~ “Come on (Y/N)!” Toph yelled at you. “Do it!”
You stared at the metal in front of you, trying to concentrate on it. You were in the courtyard, a few days after Combustion Man’s downfall. Zuko and Aang were firebending a few feet away from where Toph was trying to teach you how to metalbend. Ever since you had gotten trapped, she had been insistent on teaching you.
With a loud huff, you closed your eyes. You reached out focuising as much as you could and turning the pieces of metal in front of you into smooth, shiny balls. You opened your eyes when you heard clapping, turning to see Aang cheering softly for you. Zuko stood behind him, shirtless.
“That wasn’t so hard now, was it?” Toph taunted, bending the balls of metal back into scraps. “Do it again. This time concentrate harder. I don’t know why you’re so distracted today.”
“You don’t know why I’m distracted?” you said turning to face Aang and Zuko. “Prince Handsome over here is training shirtless and you expect me to not be distracted by that?”
“I don’t get distracted by that,” Toph countered.
“Of course not,” you said, facing her again. “You’re blind.”
Aang snickered and Zuko coughed as he tried to choke back his laughter.
“Do it again,” Toph barked. “Zuko come stand next to me.”
Zuko complied and crossed his arms as he stood next to Toph. You found yourself blushing lightly as you stared at the way his arms flexed before focusing on the metal once more. You struggled for a few minutes, feeling Zuko’s eyes on you. You glanced at him once more, watching his arms flex once again as he shifted in place. Looking up at his face, you saw him already looking at you, a smirk on his face.
You looked back at the metal trying not to look at the prince again. He knew exactly what he was doing to you.
~
It wasn’t until Ember Island that you got to spend more time around Zuko. After the day Toph had made him stand next to her as she trained you, you made sure to train as far as you could possibly get from the prince. That didn’t stop you from flirting with him every other chance you had though, always commenting on how you couldn’t train around him because he made you flustered.
Your comments seemed to make him equally, if not more, flustered.
The day you guys went to see the play, you had sat next to him, intertwining your fingers when the lights went off. He had stiffened up, an unreadable look on his face when he felt your hand in his. Thinking he had been uncomfortable, you pulled back your hand, only to blush when he pulled it back towards him this time taking it upon himself to intertwine your fingers.
Your hands remained intertwined for the rest of the play, even when you exited the private box for the intermission. You didn’t miss the smug looks from everyone else and while Zuko blushed, you had simply leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek the same way you had back in Ba Sing Se.
When the second half of the play started, you proceeded to lean on Zuko, nestling your head in the crook of his neck. His heart racing, Zuko disconnected your hands before wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you in closer. You closed your eyes as you leaned into him, enjoying the warmth that seemed to radiate from him.
~
The next few days were spent watching Aang and Zuko training as you lounged around the beach house. You spent most of your time with Toph as she kept drilling metalbending into you until you could do it with your eyes closed.
A few nights before Sozin’s comet, you found yourself sitting on the roof of the house, staring up at the moon. You jumped slightly when you felt someone sitting next to you, the warmth emitting from them telling you it was Zuko.
“What are you doing up so late?” he asked, his eyes never leaving you.
“I could ask you the same thing,” you hummed, still looking at the moon. You looked at him to see him scowling. “I couldn’t sleep so I came out here to look at the moon.”
“Sokka’s first girlfriend turned into the moon,” Zuko said, fidgeting under your gaze.
“That’s rough,” you said, looking back up.
It was silent for a few minutes before Zuko spoke up again. “Why do you like teasing me so much?”
You looked at him, bewildered. “Teasing you?”
“Yeah,” Zuko said, turning to face you. “All the compliments and the kisses and everything. Why?”
“It’s called flirting, Prince Zuko,” you said with a smile. “People typically do it when they’re attracted to or like somebody.”
“So why do you do it to me?”
You stared at him in disbelief, wondering if he was joking or if he was truly that oblivious. “Because I like you!”
Zuko’s eyes widened in surprise at your words. “You like me?”
“I thought you knew! I thought that’s why you kept flexing the day Toph kept trying to get me to metalbend,” you hissed poking his arm.
“I was joking around,” Zuko replied, swatting your hand away. “I thought you saying I was distracting you was a joke so I kept flexing to tease you.”
“Well you did tease me,” you mumbled. “Just not in the way you’re thinking of.”
“So,” Zuko said, not meeting your eyes. “You really like me?”
You rolled your eyes before leaning forwards, pressing a firm kiss to his lips. His eyes widened in shock before he closed them, his hand reaching up to cup your face as he melted into the kiss. You pulled back and giggled as his lips chased yours, pecking him once more before leaning back. “Does that answer your question?”
Zuko nodded quickly before grabbing your hand. “I like you too.”
You smiled as you shuffled closer to him. “Good. I’d be pretty upset if you didn’t.”
You gasped lightly as Zuko pressed his lips back to yours, sliding his arms around your waist and pulling you into his lap. Your arms wound around his neck, hands tangling in his hair as you eagerly kissed back. Zuko pulled away first, a chuckle escaping him.
“What?” you asked leaning your head against his shoulder.
“I can’t believe uncle was right,” he replied. At your questioning gaze, he explained.
“You did end up wooing me.”

I love this
'Lee' - Zuko x fem!reader
Masterlist <3
An: GOOD DAY FRIENDS. Today I present to you: Zuko one shot! But uhhh there’s some backstory - I haven’t written, though maybe in the future I'll write it lol, but for now, here’s a shortened version.
Backstory:
Yn met Zuko during his stay in ba sing se. She knows him as Lee, but she also knows that he’s struggled with doing good, because eventually he trusted to tell her his problems, and she wanted him to do good so yeah. I’m not entirely sure if this made sense and yeah, author OUT!
Summary:
After Zuko joins the gang, he notices they have an extra tent. Curiosity gets the best of him, and things happen.
Warnings: LOTS OF FLUFF UWU.
Word count: 1579 words.
The night he joined them, he noticed that he was the only one situated in a room, all the others had set up tents surrounding the blazing campfire. They sat around said campfire eating, and, for obvious reasons, he joined them. As he ate this “one-of-a-kind” meal, he tuned out their conversations, which were something about Sokka’s boomerang? He utilised this time to scan his surroundings, Zuko often found himself doing this, although he wasn’t sure why. He surveyed each and every detail of the environment, going as far as to count objects.
“6 tents?” he pondered, “Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Suki, and-”
“EARTH TO ZUKO!” Sokka yelled.
Zuko immediately jolted back to reality and shrunk under what felt like a thousand eyes burning into him.
“You okay man?”
“Y-yeah I-I just,” he stuttered, before shaking his head, “nevermind.”
Sokka just shrugged and went back to animatedly storytelling to the group.
--
The moon was now at its peak in the seemingly endless skies. Zuko had caught himself - on multiple occasions - thinking about that tent. “Who could it be for? Momo? No, that wasn’t even an option. Maybe one of the newer people: Chit Sang? Teo? The duke?” Zuko racked his brain for a logical explanation, but alas, it was to no avail. He had refrained from asking, in fear of confrontation - however he needed answers. He looked around to see Sokka’s tent still lit up, and made his way towards it, practically dragging himself every step of the way.
The blue tent had a golden light’s hue emitting off of it. He knocked on a stone near the front of the tent, silently praying that Sokka would be asleep. Sokka poked his head out abruptly, causing Zuko to flinch slightly. The watertribe boy tilted his head, quietly questioning Zuko's appearance here.
“I need to ask you something.” Zuko said bluntly.
Sokka cocked a brow and signaled for Zuko to enter the small confinement. Zuko hesitated but ended up going inside anyway.
After the teens had settled in the tent, the room had been radio silenced, until of course, the firebender spoke.
“So um Sokka,” He cleared his throat, looking everywhere but at the figure opposite him, he tended to avoid eye contact when nervous.
“Yeah?” Sokka replied with an encouraging smile.
“I noticed there were 6 tents and well 5 people that sleep in tents, and uh Katara going into the sixth tent quite often,” He rambled.
“There are in fact 6 tents,” Sokka nodded. He knew what Zuko meant, but he thought it was funny watching Zuko ramble.
“Is there another person in the group?” Zuko blurted out.
Sokka pondered for a minute, a frown settling on his tan skin.
“Uh yeah, It’s another girl, Yn, but she’s kind of hurt right now so Katara’s healing her.” He gave a forced smile.
Zuko decided not to push it.
“Ok thanks, have a good night.”
“You too!”
Resting in his room, Zuko questioned the familiarity of that name.
(TIME SKIP TO A FEW DAYS LATER :)
The sunlight elegantly flowed into Zuko’s fairly empty room, the thought of socialising already draining the awkward prince. Although he didn’t wanna leave the comfort of his bed, he needed to train Aang - that much was obvious. Begrudgingly, he got up and lightly fixed his hair, and by ‘fixed it’ I mean ran his fingers through it a few times, simple - but it worked. The door gilded open at Zuko’s pull and he walked out - slightly blinded by the harsh lighting. He made his way over to the group, who were enjoying breakfast with a side of playful bickering. Zuko smiled to himself, although he wasn’t really close with them, their relationship with each other was just too wholesome.
“Just in time Zuko!” Aang exclaimed, his grin extending from ear to ear.
Zuko gave a light smile and couldn’t help but wonder, how can someone be so optimistic when the weight of the world lies on their shoulders? The prince was handed a bowl of (unappetising) food, which he took gratefully, mustering out a ‘thank you’.
After a long and painful breakfast, the firebending duo wasted no time. Aang and Zuko were training tirelessly at the temple, moving in sync to their newly learned dance, and using the surge of power provided from the sun.
“What do you think they’re doing over there?” Aang whined pointing to the rest of the group whilst attempting to catch his breath.
Zuko shrugged. To be completely honest, he wanted to know, but he wouldn’t let his childish curiosity get the best of him.
“They look like they’re having fun.” The avatar sighed, he wanted to have fun too!
It was true, his friends were giggling non stop and being extremely loud. Aang tried to convince the firebender to allow him to go, and after a lot of convincing, he was allowed to go. The air nomad practically sprinted, meanwhile an annoyed Zuko trudged behind him.
Upon arriving, Aang joined the group’s joy. Zuko gulped as realisation hit him at the speed of light. His eyes widened as someone approached him, someone he recognised. Yn.
Zuko’s heart sank, and it sank deep. When they locked eyes, it seemed as if the rest of the world faded into nothing but a blur, and it was just them. The cheers of the crowd faded into background noise as Zuko bit back tears.
Katara’s POV: (Yes ik this seems random bUT bear with me)
I felt the tension rise between Zuko and Yn, maybe unresolved drama? I pushed that thought, and decided to move the group away, to give them some space to talk. Although, I wasn’t too keen on leaving her alone with him. I nudged the group over to the fountain, and we sat at the edge of it. I wanted to keep a close eye on them, but Aang convinced me to let the thought out of my head. I hope nothing goes wrong.
Back to your regularly scheduled program ;)
“Hey, Lee,” She smirked.
He couldn’t help but stare. She had grown so much since he had last seen her. Her arms were coated with sleeves of bandages. Zuko’s body was washed over with guilt.
“I should’ve been there, I should’ve helped, none of this would’ve happened if I hadn’t been so dense - so dumb, so-”
His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a giggle, a laugh so sweet and innocent sounding - he could listen to it for all of eternity. His gaze fell upon her as she smiled at him. A smile that caused him to melt, a smile that shone so bright it made the sun jealous, a smile that could convince him to realign the stars for her, a smile that made his stomach form a tight knot, her smile.
“Sorry, you just looked so cute when you were deep in thought,” she apologised.
Zuko’s smile was replaced by a slight frown, he had been brought back to reality, and he knew what needed to be done.
“Yn, I am so sor-” His voice cracked, he couldn’t stop the tears anymore, they threatened to fall, stinging his Amber eyes.
Immediately he noticed her face become more serious, and he braced for impact - whether that be physical or emotional. He shut his eyes tight and hung his head low, he deserved what was coming for him.
He felt two gentle hands rest on his shoulders, and someone’s chest against his. The firebender’s eyes fluttered open and he saw her there, holding him. He let himself enjoy the hug, before she pulled away slightly, wiping away stray tears from his face.
“There’s nothing to be sorry for,”
“B-but,”
“What matters is that you’re here now, doing good,”
And his heart felt full, nothing could have made this moment better -
“Can I kiss you?” Zuko said before he could process the thought.
“I ruined the moment,” Zuko mentaly beat himself up.
“Sorry, I DidNt -” His words came out jumbled, and before he could dig himself a deeper grave, a pair of soft lips landed onto his. It took him a second to understand the gesture, but he eagerly returned the kiss, deepening it. The pair stood there, losing themselves in a sweet kiss.
Eventually, they parted, both in desperate need of air. As they panted heavily, Zuko stared at Yn, she was just so pretty. She looked back at him, and caught him staring. He tried to play it off, but this teenager’s pink tinted face gave him away. She giggled at the sight, before giving him a quick peck on the cheek. She whispered into his ear:
“Let’s keep this a secret for now,”.
A shiver was sent down Zuko’s spine, and a smile appeared on the boy’s face as he nodded excitedly.
She turned around and walked back to the group, hoping they didn’t have to witness what had just happened. Little did Yn know, Zuko’s eyes never left her. He was just so amazed by everything she did, that he forgot to move. His face followed her with admiration, before she turned around and cocked a brow.
“You coming?” She yelled.
He scrambled to collect himself before going back to the group, a dopey smile adorning his face for the rest of the day.
An: Hope you enjoyed this story, See ya!

Health Class
Okay so I’m back with another Zuko x reader. I’m just going to say this one made me cry. I used some real life experience (not that’s it’s as bad as this it just my mom went though something similar) but just a heads up not everyone is suitable to read this one cover some heavy topics.
Tiggers: Angst and abortion (let me know if I missed something).
Word count: 1.3k
“Okay class today we have a new project that’ll last for two weeks” your teacher boomed across the room.
The teacher started stating some basic information about the project. You weren’t paying attention until she said something that caught your attention.
“Okay now to know your exact project is called the BABY PROJECT”.
Everyone in the room, which included you, Katara, Sokka, Suki, Zuko, Aang, and Toph. Why only you guys, well that’s because fighting in the war doesn’t actually gain you the information you need in the world. For instance basic math skills or how to write an important document. So Iroh and Hakoda decided that you guys will go to school for however long until all of you were caught up to speed. Okay now back to why that caught your attention was because while you lived with Zuko on the boat searching for Aang something horrible happened. You fell pregnant at the age of 15. You and Zuko didn’t know what to do, on one hand you wanted to keep the baby and the other lose it.
Flashback:
You and Zuko were pacing around the small compact room.
“Zuko there’s a war going on and we’re looking for the Avatar that’s not a healthy environment to raise a baby. Also your Father would be furious if he founded out”
“Like I don’t know that, but that’s are CHILD we created I’m already attached to them, I know it’s for the best but it pains my heart to never meet them”
Later that same day the boat docked and the pair of teens secretly walked to the small hut located at the village they docked at. A small cloud over their heads. Occasionally stopping to look at the small bump on the female's stomach. The male resting his hand on top.
“What should we name our first child, even though we’ll never meet them? I want our first child to have a name so they know we love them and wish it didn’t have to be like this.”
“Kazuto'' means first . I think it fits perfectly for our child”.
So with that you guys finally reached the small hut. Walking inside you tried to hold back tears, but couldn’t, neither could the boy by you.
“Dear what can I do for you?” the old woman said with a kind smile. After explaining the situation to her, she led both the young teens into a back room. She left to get her supplies and for the teens to say their goodbyes to their unborn child.
After a while of being there the teens left, three people entered, but one would never leave. The two walked around town looking at the pasting scenery. Good thing for them that this was a small Fire Nation community that allowed the Prince to dock here. So they found a lonely tree in the outskirts of the village and built a small memorial there for their unborn child. Tying a small yellow ribbon on it so others know to not mess with it.
“At least this village allows me here, so each year we can come back and see our child” Zuko hummed to you with his arms around you.
The rest of the day leading into night you and Zuko laid by the tree where your son's memory will live on. Just talking about what life would have been like if they were able to have their child. Eventually falling asleep by each other. Never hearing the soft steps of Iroh walking over to them with a blanket.
“I wish you guys would have to experience losing a child, but this will only bring you closer and teach you a life lesson. Please little one if you hear me, please protect your parents. Know that they love you tremendously and want to hold you more than anything in this whole world. Hmmm...your name is Kazuto fitting. I bet my nephew picked that out. Well I’m your great uncle Iroh or you can call me Grandpa if you want.”
If people were to walk by they'd think a crazy old man was talkng to a tree with two teens asleep by him. But, little did they know he could see the spirits and right now he was talking to the boy that never got to make it into the real world. After a few hours passed and the sun was rising.
“Well young one if you ever need to talk to me, just appear. But, best if I get your parents back to the dock and we keep on with our journey.”
Soon the group of three made it back to the boat and continued with their mission. Never forgetting the person they’ll have to leave behind for now.
A year later right after the encounter with General Zhao. A boat pulled back to the small village they came to last year. Only a group of people knew why.
“We’re close, baby. We’re doing this for you. Happy first Birthday our baby boy”
End of Flashback:
After explaining everything, the teacher paired everyone up.
Y/N and Zuko
Katara and Aang
Sokka, Suki, and Toph
After the school day ended the teacher called over you and Zuko. They apparently knew about what happened and told you guys if you didn’t feel comfortable doing it you didn’t need to. Surprisingly you both were on board with the project. Sharing the same thought “we can see now it would have been like if Kazuto was born.” The two week project was started.
“Hey Zuko let’s names them Kazuto”
“Agreed”
At first you and Zuko were so into it. Until nighttime.
Laying down on the bed with the fake baby in between them, a silent sob was heard.
“Why do I think I could do this, it feels like he’s right here with us. I miss him so much. Zuko, Zuko I don’t think I can do this anymore. I didn’t even last a day.”
“Honey I feel the same way, but it does feel nice to act as though this baby right here is Kazuto right now. He is three right now though and not a newborn”. Zuko let put a pained chuckle
These two week were going to be hard. Fortunately the whole gaang knew about what happened so they were a big help. By the end you knew if Kazuto was born we would have been a good mother, also Zuko. Today was the last day and you were already missing acting like a mother.
“Zuko after we’re done with school, let’s make Kazuto a new sibling. I’m ready to have a baby. We live in a healthy environment so it’ll be perfect” you whisper to Zuko while running your hands through his hair during lunch.
“I've been thinking the same thing, I've been wanting to try again, even though they’ll never replace our Kazuto.”
Fast forward four years…
“Izumi stop running down the halls. Would your big brother like to know you got hurt”
“No mommy, I’m sorry...anyways can we go visit him”
After agreeing with the small child. You guys arrived at the shrine that was built in the palace for Kazuto. Izumi was just chatting away to her brother about her day. It was just like he was right next to you. Little did you know he was sitting in front of you just listening to his baby sister while watching his mother content. A smile never leaving his face.
“I can’t wait to actually meet you guys. I always been watching over you like grandpa asked. So keep waiting and tell papa I love him too. I love you guys”.
As you were sitting with your daughter you heard a distance voice. One you've been hearing for years now, the voice of your son.
“I will Kazuto” your daughter hearing you say that and asking if you heard her brother also. You nodded making the young girl run away yelling ”I love you” back to her dear brother.
“I can’t wait”
Okay so now time for Spanish word of the day: primero (first)
Also some sad news didn’t make the soccer team...because of my injury that I have

Could I possibly get some Prince Zuko Headcanons with a Plus Sized Reader? Fluffy please?
Yes! Love me some Zuko and I know he'd like a chubby s/o too
~~~~~~~~
• Rarely did he let anyone in but you were an exception.
• Something about you and the way you held your own had drawn him to you.
• You were a fighter but your soft and plump figure had him blushing and admiring you whenever he faced you.
• The day you broke though his tough exterior he had a rough day and took it out on everyone.
• Instead of pushing him away you tried even harder to get near him.
• You gave him some tough love pulled him by the ear and forced him to sit down and talk about what's wrong with his head in your pillowy lap.
• He looked away flustered trying to keep his eyes away from you.
• You only laughed softly and and played with his locks. He looked at you when when he heard you laugh and didnt know whether to kiss you or ask you what's so funny.
• You teased him about something only for him to respond back trying to keep his ground but getting tongue tied on his words and failing.
• He already forgets whats got him so worked up and it makes your heart swell.
• You lean in close kissing his cheek, he stops processing with blushing ears.
• Pulling you into a hug squeezing your soft form once then huffing in defeat as he holds you.
Hey, could I get a sfw & nsfw ATLA matchup✨?
I’m 18 y/o but look younger than my age (about 15/16 lol), am 5‘3, my pronouns are she/her and I’m straight
I‘m mixed (🇩🇪/🇰🇪)
My mbti type is ISFP, enneagram 6w5 and my zodiac sign is Capricorn
Personality wise I’d say I’m an introvert. I have a hard time opening up to people (especially in groups) and therefore come off as very quiet, moody, secretive and mysterious, because I observe the people around me before interacting. But when it comes to 1 to 1 conversations people I have an easier time showing my true colors and they see that I’m in fact a nice and to an extend nurturing person, who has a dry sense of humor and sees the best in others. I’m also the kind of person who is very good at reading people and notices things others don’t. My negative traits are that I’m sometimes too insecure, harsh and critical towards myself and that I’m ticklish af lol.
In my free time I love to sing and listen to music. Next to that I am an astrology fan and love talking about zodiacs from time to time. I also have a love for theatre.
My ideal love language from my s/o would be words of affirmations or quality time. For me I’d say that I would give my s/o a love language fitting to his personality. I wouldn’t want to step over his boundaries, be too clingy or annoy him. In general I would want to make sure that my s/o feels safe, supported and secure when he’s around me.
hii thanks for the request!
your ATLA match up is...ZUKO!!!
- Pretty similar to you, both Zuko & Mai are reserved and give off the same energy as you. Since Zuko is into the moody and mysterious Mai we thought why not pair you up with him! He would totally be into the fact that you keep your softer side for him and not for too many other people. Your sense of humor is also a plus point.
- Most people are too scared to go near Zuko and with your perception skills you can tell he is a good boi.
- In private he would totally tickle you till you cry. Mans is a bit of a sadist
- Zuko would lay down on your lap and listen to your singing <3
- Unfortunately he wouldn’t really understand astrology but he’ll still listen with a confused look on his face.
- He’d really appreciate boundaries mostly for when he goes off and does his own thing. But he’d make sure that when he returns he showers you with affection.
yours tickleishly,
admin sar
