hii , just wanted to say how much i litterally love this fic, ngl it has turned me into a swiftie (bow down to taylor swift) anyways i wanted to ask what is the partys fav eras?
every time someone says they became a taylor fan bc of this fic we grow more powerful >:) so glad to hear! welcome to the brainrot 🫡 as for their favs, we talked abt their fav albums a while back but that was a While Back and i never deny an opportunity to talk acswy party x taylor so here are what we think their favs would be:
el: speak now stan first and human being second. she’s just like me <3 no notes here her taste is immaculate. she did in fact shell out for the merch earlier this summer
max: rep girly through and through (both the album and the vibes of the Era) but i think she holds a very soft spot for lover (specifically after she and lucas start dating). loves call it what you want bc she is a not so secret softie
lucas: lover! not a huge fan but got introduced to taylor more through max and naturally gravitated towards lover. i’ve said this before and i’ve said this again but his fav track off of it is def i think he knows. he got my heart! beat! skipping down 16th avenue! etc so on and so forth
dustin: not a huge taylor Fan for the most part. likes her more popular hits and therefore probably 1989 if he had to pick an album. however he can also be found listening to very random debut tracks that no one else in the party ever really listens to. his spotify listening activity will show him listening to cold as you for three hours and everyone thinks it’s a glitch (it’s not). also a should’ve said no enjoyer. he and el scream it in the car a lot
will: tells everyone it’s folklore for the lyricism and whatnot (it’s mostly true) but he holds a special spot for red tv that he conveniently does not mention (specifically the breakup songs) (#andyoucallmeupagainjusttobreakmelikeapromise). mostly bc of the timing of when it dropped but also bc red tv is a masterpiece and he is putting some well deserved respect on its name. el and max know his secret though bc they had to listen to him listening to it on loop for nov-december 2021 and then it carried over into jan 2022 before they finally staged an intervention
mike: if he had to choose an Album it would prob be evermore but i think his favorite songs are scattered throughout the rest of her discography! to meeeee he is a mine enjoyer, as well as delicate, hygtg, so on and so forth. is not allowed to listen to this is me trying anymore for his own safety (lucas keeps tabs on his spotify activity). also to me mike is a pop punk enjoyer so i think speak now’s sound really draws him in as well! definitely got excited over fob + hayley’s features on the vault tracks
#to me will is fearless coded in every universe#i don’t think it would be acswy will’s fav album tho#like i don’t think he’d listen to most of the songs on it a lotttttt. here n there yea#probably some commentary here i’ll come back to add later hehe#asks#acswy reference

That mindset of some fans is so weird to me. I also became a fan during folkmore, and those two albums are truly so special, but it was deep-diving into all of her previous albums that actually made me fall IN LOVE with her. Why would someone want her to only be this one-dimensional thing when there's this magical multifaceted human being directly in front of your eyeballs who makes art that expresses the entire bandwidth of human experience and emotion. How can you even truly appreciate the depth of just some of her music if you don't embrace all of it? The good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly. If you only have one piece of the puzzle, you miss out on how it completes the entire picture. Like have these people even heard of the eras tour? It's all a part of her! Honestly, I feel bad for them because they're completely missing out.
can't separate taylor the artist from taylor the person they disagree with politically. which is fine. if you want your celebs to mirror your personal politics, ok! but that's why the only option is to really just leave swiftie tumblr because if you can't even enjoy the music there's nothing for you here

hmmmm oh i have a question
what's the love story between you and amelia sjdksd you guys are so cute together
tell me whatever you feel comfortable with
heheheheh any excuse to talk about @singlethread hehehee and i have been meaning to go through my archive for this
so basically i kept seeing her with 911 related things, and then i got more into the swiftie side of tumblr too and they were also everywhere there, we became mutuals, she sent me their buddie ppt for swiftie ppt night (an immaculate work of art) and then we started chatting in DMs and asks and discovering that we are really fucking similar (one instance of this) and wanted to then send videos of rosa and juni so we exchanged numbers. and then for their birthday i wrote them a fic -- mind you i am oblivious at this point. i then sorta realized that i had a crush in like march or so and hopped on the dating apps again to try to combat it which got me three dates with someone but i was not comfy with them after that. so i deleted the apps again. and i get distracted by some other life stuff including realizinf that i need to fucking quit my job, so i deal with that. (all through out this amelia and i are sending each other asks about kissing each other etc etc) anyway-- July 2nd hits, Amelia is attending the Eras Tour, i'm watching a grainy lives stream as usual, and ms. swift begins to play ivy -- which is a very special song to amelia and i post this, why you ask? because i was crying over the fact that she was getitng to hear it live, and that i was by extension watching that happen through the stream, and that i was singing it with her too. i was down very bad. (still am btw) and then i said this and this
now-- its the end of september, crush night -- the pivotal moment. i reblog this and answer this ask amelia makes polls about dating tumblr mutuals etc etc -- moral of the story: we are dumb!!! (there are so many other posts if you go to my archive btw) anyway @loveaffairmaimyou finally got sick of us and dm'd me asking who my crush was and at this point i kinda figured it was mutual and was very much freaking the fuck out. we finally talked to each other about it. and history was made
and i didnt implode because i visited her for new years and got kissed (lots)

First of all, I’m happy to learn that I’m not alone in my becoming anti TS journey. I realized it’s my love for her since I was 10 years old that made her special in my eyes. Now that the glasses made of childhood nostalgia are off, all I see is a mediocre artist who doesn’t deserve everything she has right now. There are far more talented artists that deserve the recognition and fame, but they don’t have Daddy’s money when they were starting out so 🤷🏽
Save for folklore and evermore, most of her lyrics are also meh. My Lit major friends were right when they said “lyricism? what lyricism?” 😂 it’s embarrassing to see swifties (me included back then) compare her to Shakespeare or Jane Austen lmaooo
Like a lot of other people on here, I became resentful of her this year because of her behavior to the point that I have her muted on Spotify and blocked in social media since the start of November. How she dealt with and treated Ana’s death just really rubbed me the wrong way, sorta like it’s a confirmation that she doesn’t care about BIPOC lives when her whole brand is her loving her fans so much and having a close relationship with them. BIPOC lives are relevant to her only insofar as ✨ diversity and equality ✨ and “no i’m not racist or a bigot i literally have [insert minority group here] friends” damage control are concerned. Watched videos of her LatAm shows and the difference of her energy/how she engaged with people was glaring. It’s embarrassing to see swifties defend her like besties go get some standards and make sure you get your money’s worth, lmao.
And of course, how she’s intentionally associating herself with known abusers and SA apologists. I guess #MeToo was just another era for her and now she’s over it.
I got tickets to her show early next year, but after giving it time (to see if it’s just a phase and I’d like her again eventually), I decided I don’t wanna watch her anymore. Ironic because I stayed during the events of 1989 and after, but it’s ultimately TS herself who made me hate her, lol. Spending $2,000 (includes flights, hotel, etc) over an objectively mediocre artist who’s starting to show her real colors now that she thinks she’s unstoppable is just not worth it. Glad I now see the light 🙆🏽
Anyways, would you know about Ticketmaster’s policy on transferring the e-tickets? I’m the account holder and they did confirm that I don’t have to be physically present for my friends I was supposed to go with to get in. (Ticket transfers via TM are not possible.) I just wanna sell my own ticket and get my money back. Thanks in advance!

In celebration of The Eras Tour 100th show posting my experience last 09 March 2024 at National Stadium Singapore…
💚💛💜❤️🩵🖤🩷🩶🤎🤍
I don’t know where to begin. Months have passed, and the feeling is still surreal. I don’t know how to recover from this experience—seeing my childhood dream flashback before my eyes.
Debut became my gateway to the world of Swiftie Lore. I vividly remember early 2007, the first time hearing your song on the radio, (TOMG) it was sad and broken but full of hope. That moment instantly became my core memory of entering your world: full of stories of heartbreaks, betrayals, and lies but, most importantly, how you're able to overcome and turn those into weapons to achieve dreams and aspirations and to be loved without any conditions.
Your performance of “Should’ve Said No” cements my determination to attend your concert one day, no matter what it takes. A concert I want to be in, with all your reveal, the guitars, singing in the rain, and the unstoppable headbanging, the unbreakable arc of your spines and the stare each pause and most specially the PEP talk each segment. Oh if only Friendster/Myspace could speak right now they’d tell the world the whole journey how I crave to see it live. Looking back at it, all those things I wish for came through unexpectedly, I DID.
Since then, I have been gatekeeping you like no other. Your exceptional talent and devotion to your fans have resonated so resoundingly that even critics, egoists, and skeptics have been unable to diminish the legacy you have forged. You are undeniably outstanding, often revered as "The Music Industry" itself. Your triumph has been unmistakable, deeply felt, and cherished by us, your loyal supporters. This moment and experience will undoubtedly form a narrative that I will recount throughout the entirety of my life.
This journey will delve deep into the rabbit hole of my core memory
To those reading this: never give up on your dreams. As a little boy, I achieved big dreams that I once thought impossible. This moment will always be remembered.
I’d like also to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me from the very beginning - warm hugs and lots of love.
Sending you lots of love and hugs, Miss Forever T-Swizzle @taylorswift @taylornation . I promise this won't be the last time I see you perform live 😊
Swiftie 2007 Est
P.S. Please release "I’d Lie" for the TS TV Vault; minor changes - 18 instead of 17 PLEASE 😊

Hey, so, I know I only ever reblog but I wanted to share a hc about toh that I've had for a while that connects a lot of things that are recently on the internet.
So we all have heard Hunter singing she-wolf and a bunch of other songs, so I want to share what, I think, are the gang's music taste.
Luz is definitly a "I listen to every kind of music" kid, like from classic pop (Elvis, Madonna, Gaga, Shakira, Taylor, Katy, ofc Lana del Rey) to Kpop and definitly some rap and 2000's reggaeton (Eminem, Don Omar and ofc Ozuna), probably electronic music too, specially Alan Walker, and definitelysome rock and metal (Queen, Kiss, Mäneskin, etc). Like EVERY kind of music. So when they got to the human realm, they couldn't sleep the first nights so she played them music and they all liked it but they had their preferences.
(I feel like they all loved Taylor Swift but they have different fav albums).
Amity DEFINITLY LOVED Lana del Rey and metal, a lil bit more than Luz cuz she definitly likes kpop the most, but Amity is all about heavy music and lyrics with cussing. Her fav Taylor's album is probably folklore and/or Speak Now and def reputation.
Gus absolutly adored music in spanish, and yes, I mean the kind of music that Camila listens to(if you're latino like me yk what I mean), adding reggaeton to that list and pop. His fav Taylor's album is 1989.
Vee's music taste is very similar to Gus's but she LOVES kpop and rap and likes to vibe to it with Luz. Her fav Taylor's album is reputation, although she likes Fearless too.
Hunter..... I think you know where I'm going with him. He is all in for pop, we all thought he was gonna be all grunge but he turned out to be a cute nerdy dork so I think it goes the same with his music taste. But I think he's really similar to Luz, like he loved all kind of music and after hearing a lot of music in spanish with Gus he really improved in the language; also, he had bi panics with music videos. I think he listens to Maroon 5 religiously and sings Animals unironicaly. His fav Taylor's albums are Red, 1989, Lover and he takes "the rep era" too literally.
Willow, my girl, absolutly adores pop too BUT she fell in love with slower kind of music, she became the biggest swiftie, like, absolutly adores her whole discography, specially evermore (she got really excited when she saw a song with her name), Fearless and Lover, she also likes some songs of Debut; yeah she listens to other artists too but the most of her playlist is Taylor.
Also, after she and Hunter started hanging out more, they listened to Lover together and that's a cute connection they have, and later on, when they started dating, they went on picnic dates with that album as soundtrack.
(All of them LOVED Midnights).
So yeah, that's a really big hc I've had in my mind.

Hi Swifties! Now that I have partially recovered from this weekend I wanted to share what I wore to my very first Taylor show! Unfortunately they’re all selfies because I went to the show by myself and didn’t want to keep bothering people to take my picture. More pics and details under the cut!!!
Most of my outfit was originally planned for Lover Fest, so I’ve actually been working on it since before the pandemic! I wanted to recreate my own version of Taylor’s Entertainment Weekly cover with all of the pins of her favorite things. Well, my taste in shows and etc is um… vastly different than Taylor’s! So I am covered in pins for all of my fandoms. It has taken me almost 4 years to assemble all of them and I still don’t feel satisfied that I have all my fandoms represented, but I ran out of time!
Then I’m just wearing all pink to be more Lover-ish. I like to think of my pink pants as good luck (even more so now!) because I bought them to wear to my first Harry Styles (solo) concert in 2018 and it was the show he sang “You’re Still The One” with Kacey Musgraves! So I don’t wear them regularly but I have them around for special occasions and they brought me good luck with my surprise songs! (Holy Ground and False God?!?! I’m still thinking about it)
I had to add the headband with the lyrics to “Style” when this became my Eras Tour outfit, though. That is still my favorite Taylor song of all time, so I wanted to acknowledge it. And I got some awesome fanmade Swiftie earrings and a 13 tattoo for my hand so I didn’t have to try to draw it. I was going to draw the Lover heart on my face but I chickened out at the last minute 🫣
And then at the very last minute I decided I wanted to make a goofy little sign just to have on hand when I was taking pictures, so I went with another fandom reference to go with my jacket.
If anyone is interested, I’ll take some more pictures of the jacket so you can see all my pins up close!
I have been a Swiftie since I started listening to Fearless as a baby little 18 year old and I finally, finally got to go to a show!!!! (If you’re reading this and you’re 18 I’m not calling you a baby - I just very much was at that age smh 🫣) Anyways, thanks for reading! 💕

1989 is so odd to me. it's in my top 3, some of my favorite songs in her discography are on it, and i've always found it so wild the way it seems to be an either you love it or you hate it album? it's either near the top of an album ranking or near the bottom, in my experience, and i was wondering if there's a way to explain how polarizing it is. not even among the gp, i've seen a lot of swifties insist her other pop albums are better and it's the worst, while others think the opposite, and i just find it all so interesting.
you're totally right, it's so polarizing within the fandom, which is hilarious considering how for the general public it's her most widely agreed upon enjoyable album. soooo bizarre to me. you'd think it would at least be middling among fans, but no! in my experience, a lot of taylor's albums and how they're favored by a fan, or detested, come down to what that fan's involvement was with taylor and that album during it's initial release. i'm willing to admit that at this point, 1989 doesn't stick out as the groundbreaking body of work in the current lineup of her albums like it did at the time. it was the first of many like it, and over the years has given way to some songs that are better than some on 1989. also she's since developed that sort of synth sound with jack that is now commonplace and a bit of a signature for her. these days it's a bit more polished than the experimental version of that on 1989. there are many arguments you can make for how 1989 isn't that "special" in the vacuum of her ouvre as it is today.
but i'll say it's more than just the songs in a vacuum. the name for her current tour is apt because she truly operated like many pop stars before her and created those chapterized eras around her albums (sorry she didn't invent it, far from it, and she didn't even reinvent it. it's textbook). with the music came entire personas and aesthetics and narratives and ways of communicating. and while the internet has preserved a lot of things, the experiences of being a fan, or even a particular type of fan, during each of the eras is a singular experience that you cannot reconstruct through photos and articles if you weren't there or an active part of it. that's not to try and gatekeep, like i don't care when you became a fan lol it doesn't affect me at all or how you compare to other fans really. but i'm saying it has a direct effect on your relationship to an era and the album of that era, for better or worse. sometimes it is just that you weren't old enough to be an active late teen/adult fan during the time surrounding 1989 and you don't understand how golden that time was comparatively. sometimes it can be because they don't like that kind of pop music insofar as their personal taste and that's not what they came to taylor for whenever it was they came to taylor, be it country era or folklore era or whatever. sometimes its a combination of both, as when you were born dictates the musical landscape you were plopped into and thereby influences your taste and what you consider "your" music is sometimes more happenstance than anything you actively selected. i digress.
it really was a golden time for people who were a certain type of fan, the right age with the right taste and the right amount of history with her at that time. context and meta context of it as it pertained to her place in the world at that time, and not to mention the overall in-real-time experience of her IG presence and the clues she dropped for each track, her complete physical makeover from hair to clothes, the squad friend group, the way 1989 music contrasted the rest of popular music at that time and what we'd been used to from her. the real time evolution of just her public persona and the song subject matter and the production style. i could go on. but there was a lot about that era, and about all of her eras, that are more than just the songs that skew how people feel about them, or have no feeling about them at all. a huge part of it is it's about how you experienced them in real time, and how they imprinted on you and what you brought to it. it's funny cuz the only other album that has such a visceral polarity about it is reputation, but that's for the totally opposite reason. it is widely agreed upon to be her least enjoyed album by the general public (and many critics) but a large amount of fans will put it at the top. i still think the reasoning is exactly the same, despite the inverse circumstance. what it was like to be a fan of hers during the circumstances surrounding that album, the narratives and the relationship she had to her fans at that point, and going to that concert which for a lot of younger fans was their first taylor concert, have cemented that album as their favorite. it was about the ERA and whether or not you experienced it as THAT kind of fan at that time that makes you a rep fan. the same way that NOT being a fan of a certain kind during the 1989 era and experiencing that might affect how lukewarm you are towards that album if that kind of music isn't your taste to begin with. it means nothing to them. people can be sensitive about it because she's advertised that a huge aspect of her work that she's proud of is her songwriting, so fans are quick to point to songs on their favorite albums as having "excellent" song writing compared to others or whatever as to why they hold it on a pedestal. all of her albums have highs and lows in that department, so that's a moot point for the most part (and a matter of taste really when it comes down to it). the reality is it's simply the way life unfolded for them and when an era did, or didn't, capture their attention and devotion. there's nothing about that that makes someone a better or worse fan of course, it's just the way things happen and why some fans cannot be swayed from their favs or moved to give a shit about something that they only ever heard diegetically in their own life at that time in a CVS.
the last thing i'll say is that a HUUUUUUUGE part of why 1989 is such a benchmark for her, and the general public's relationship with her, was that it wasn't just groundbreaking for her. it was groundbreaking for pop music. it completely changed the sounds of pop mainstream music and was an injection of originality that now probably sounds old hat. i can totally see how a person who came to 1989 many years later was already a part of a world saturated with 1989 copycats and derivatives, and to them that was "generic" pop music, and so it probably doesn't sound that special if you heard it too late. or if anything it sounded like something else they'd already heard and not uniquely taylor in the way they may have been used to something being "uniquely taylor". i personally think 1989 is a cut above the copycats, and a cut above all her other pop work to this day, but i'm sympathetic to those who didn't experience it at the right time to be receptive to it in the way it was received by the rest of us. i'm sorry you missed out! it was a rip roaring time.
#it was VPR finale night so sorry i got to this very late and it might make zero sense cuz i'm VPR pilled rn#anyway 1989 hive foreverrrrrrrrrrrr

i think debut is when i discovered taylor and fearless is when i became a fan but speak now is when i really became a swiftie™️ and that is why this era is so special and nostalgic and close to my heart its when i went from “i listen to her music” to “i obsessively watch all of her interviews and vlogs i can get my hands on because she really understands me”

I get you anon, I went from liking her music in debut to a fan in fearless and hardcore swiftie in speak now and speak now tv is coming out and I should feel so happy but with everything happening I feel empty. It’s really sad to think this may lead to me not feeling hardcore anymore when I have for so long. I get what you mean. It’s shifting back.
i also think that the album era in which you become a super big fan always has such a special place in your heart because it’s essentially the album that really made you become a bigger fan so to hear that you became a huge fan during her speak now era and now speak now (taylor’s version) is coming out and you’re not feeling what you usually feel, it’s so sad but it’s incredibly valid and you’re not the only person

Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers & Gayle – Lincoln Financial Field – Philadelphia, PA – May 12, 2023
In the words of Miss Taylor Swift, “It’s been a long time coming.” On May 12th, Taylor performed on the stage of Philadelphia’s own Lincoln Financial Field, her 20th stop on the Eras Tour. The last time Swift graced this stage with her ethereal presence was back in 2018 on the Reputation Stadium Tour. With this being Swift’s hometown show, I could tell that it was a special one for her. In the words of Swift, “Whether or not you intended to, you’ve ended up at my hometown show. I grew up right down the road.” It was a pleasure to be in attendance at such a highly anticipated event. I feel so lucky to have been a part of that night, considering it was a war (or as Swift would say, a Great War) on Ticketmaster to secure tickets.
Now why is this tour called the Eras Tour, and not the Midnights Tour? In 2019, the masters of Swift’s first six albums were sold for a whopping $300 million. Fortunately, the “mastermind” announced in August 2019 that she would be re-recording those albums in the coming years. This means that she will once again own her original songs, but this time they’ll be “Taylor’s Version.” Fans were ecstatic to hear about the re-recordings, feeling all of the nostalgia while listening to their favorite high school albums for the first time again. Rather than solely highlighting the Midnights portion of her discography, Swift decided to bring tour attendees through all of her “eras.”
As soon as I arrived at the stadium, I felt an overwhelming energy buzzing around the stadium. Swifties in attendance were dressed head-to-toe in T-Swift gear, including moms, dads, and grandparents! Swift’s fans don’t play around when it comes to their Eras tour outfits; some even spent DAYS on their final looks! Fans were dressed for every era, from Taylor Swift to Midnights, and more.
The first act of the night was singer-songwriter Gayle. She became extremely popular in 2021 after the release of the hit single “abcdefu”, which was awesome to hear live! Gayle played tracks from her newest EP titled hi this is my setlist right now, which funny enough, is her setlist for the Eras tour! Her performance included hit singles “don’t call me pretty,” “luv starved,” and of course, “abcdefu.” Gayle was the perfect opener for the Eras Tour. Everyone was on their feet, which is rare for an opening act.
Up next was the incredible Phoebe Bridgers. Swift and Bridgers have been friends for some time now and even released a song together called “Nothing New,” which is featured on Red (Taylor’s Version). Bridgers kicked off her set with the popular hit “Motion Sickness,” followed by “DVD Menu,” “Garden Song,” and “Kyoto.” Joining Bridgers on stage playing guitar was The 1975’s lead singer, Matty Healy. As a fan of Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, and The 1975, this was a surreal experience. Bridgers then went on to play several more tracks including “Scott Street,” “Graceland Too,” and finally “I Know The End.” After Phoebe’s performance, the energy went from excited to off the charts. It was finally time to start the countdown until Swift took the stage.
Promptly at 8 PM, the lights went down, and the Eras tour intro began playing over the speakers – a mashup of songs of Swift’s all throughout her albums. As the audio montage of her musical history played over the speakers, beautiful sunset-colored Cirque du Soleil-esque billowing fans held by dancers gracefully waltzed across the stage. The colors of the fans matched the sunset that painted the sky behind the stage, which was beautiful. The dancers then piled the fans on top of one another in the middle of the stage. The next thing I knew, Swift popped up from beneath the fans singing, “It’s been a long time coming,” the first line she sang from the chorus of “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince” from her 2019 album Lover. Her choice of using a Lover song was very special, since her tour accompanying the album, Loverfest, was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. From Lover, Taylor also played “The Man,” fan-favorite “Cruel Summer,” “You Need To Calm Down,” “Lover” and “The Archer.”
Soon Swift disappeared into the stage. The display screens were then enveloped in shimmering sparkles, introducing us to the Fearless era. I was overwhelmed with nostalgia when the first notes of “Fearless,” the title track of her sophomore album Fearless. As the chorus of the song says, “I don’t know how it gets better than this,” I wholeheartedly agree. Up next was “You Belong With Me” followed by one of Swift’s first huge hits “Love Story.” Though I was sad to see the Fearless era come to an end, I could not wait for what was next.
Before I knew it, visuals of freshly fallen snow in the woods were shown on the display screens. Evergreen trees then arose from the stage, and Swift began singing “Tis the Damn Season” as she welcomed us to the evermore era. As Swift started singing the chorus of the song, the entire audience chimed in “it always leads to you in my hometown,” with an emphasis on “my hometown,” since Swift is from nearby Wyomissing, Pennsylvania! What makes her concerts so fun is not only the music itself but the captivating visuals and Broadway-quality performance that come along with it. Seeing Swift’s songs come to life on stage gives audiences a whole new insight into her brain, helping us further encode her profound lyrics.
Swift then went on to play “willow,” followed by “Marjorie” which she wrote for her late grandmother Marjorie Finlay. Hearing “Marjorie” live was a heartwarming experience, as Swift honored her grandmother by having a recording of Marjorie’s opera singing mixed in with the instrumental of the track. Swift sang “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were singing to me now” and Marjorie’s mesmerizing voice filled Lincoln Financial Field. Swift then played “champagne problems” on the piano after expressing her extreme gratitude to the audience. After a beautiful performance of “Tolerate It,” Swift once again disappeared from the stage, and we were transported to the Reputation era.
The last time fans saw Swift perform these songs was the last time she performed in Philly on her 2018 reputation Stadium Tour. Swift’s powerhouse vocals have only gotten stronger since then, making the reputation era one to remember. With striking visuals of snakes slithering across the stage, Swift kicked off this part of the set with “...Ready for It?” and that, I was! She then played fan-favorites “Delicate,” “Don’t Blame Me” (you know, the one with the insane high note), and finally “Look What You Made Me Do.” Before I could even catch my breath from the previous eras, it was time for the highly anticipated Speak Now era.
The reputation snake made its way to the end of the over 150-foot stage as the display screens turned a familiar shade of purple. The opening notes of “Enchanted” began playing and the audience lost their minds. Swift announced Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) on May 5th during her show in Nashville, only one week before Philly night one, which made the Speak Now era even more thrilling for the audience. It was a surreal feeling hearing Swift’s mature voice singing songs I listened to throughout my years in school. Though the Speak Now segment of the show was only one song long, that did not stop fans from having performances of their own in the audience. Swift didn’t go through the eras in chronological order throughout the show, but she did with the transition from Speak Now to Red.
As we entered the Red era, the vibes in the stadium were immaculate. Red is one of Swift’s albums that seemingly makes most Swifties’ top three album list, so the anticipation for this segment of the show was off the charts. Swift took the stage after a short montage of songs on the album was played, and the introduction to “22” blasted through the speakers. At the end of the song, Swift made her way to the end of the stage and handed off her hat to a lucky fan who got to take it home as the greatest souvenir of all time. Next, she played “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” and even Red (Taylor’s Version) from the vault track “Nothing New.” Finally, it was time for the song fans had been waiting for, “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).” Ever since Swift announced that the original version of the song was 10 minutes long in 2012, fans had been pleading for her to release it. Fortunately for them, she did on her first re-recorded album Red (Taylor’s Version).
We were then welcomed to the folklore era with a spoken word poem by Swift containing lyrics from folklore’s “seven” and 1989’s “Wildest Dreams.” The folklore era included “the 1”, “the last great American dynasty”, “august”, “illicit affairs”, “my tears ricochet”, and “cardigan.” When introducing “betty,” Swift shared that while most of her songs are based on real people, some are characters that she made up including James, Inez, and of course, Betty. Swift explained to the the buzzing crowd, “Fun fact: I named the characters after real people in my life, who I love. Their names are James, Inez, and Betty.” What makes this even more special is that these are the names of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ children, whom Swift is very close with. Lively and the kids were even in attendance at the show!
After the performance straight out of a fairytale book that was the folklore era, fans were pumped to see the 1989 era begin with one of the album's biggest hits “Style.” Swift then performed “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off” (even the stadium was shaking!), “Wildest Dreams,” and “Bad Blood.” The performance of “Bad Blood” came complete with a pyrotechnic display, perfectly accompanying the fiery vibe of the song. I could feel the flames from my seat! The choreography during this era was absolutely unmatched. Swift’s extremely talented band and dancers made the show that much better.
Up next was many fans’ favorite time of the night – surprise song time. On almost every tour Swift has done, she has played an acoustic song of two that are a complete surprise to the audience. One song is on the guitar and the other on the piano. While introducing the first song, Swift shared that there is a great online debate surrounding a specific lyric in the song. Fans caught on immediately that she would be playing evermore’s “gold rush.” The debate in question refers to the verse “What must it be like to grow up that beautiful? / With your hair falling into place like dominoes / I see me padding across your wooden floors / With my Eagles T-shirt hanging from the door.” Is she referring to the band or our hometown Philadelphia Eagles? Swift promptly answered sharing “I love the band Eagles. But guys come on, I’m from Philly. Of course, it’s the team.” The stadium erupted with cheers before she could finish her sentence. After playing the unofficial Swiftie Eagles fight song, Swift walked over to the piano to play the next surprise song. She explained that she does take polite requests for songs in this segment, and tonight’s was suggested by none other than Phoebe Bridgers. The song was revealed to be “Come Back, Be Here” (one of my personal favorites since 2012.) Swift had never performed this live before, so fans were extremely excited.
The era up next was the most recent member of Swift’s ever-growing catalog, Midnights. She kicked off the final portion of the show with the first track on the album “Lavender Haze” followed by “Anti-Hero,” “Midnight Rain,” “Vigilante Shit,” and “Mastermind.” The production value all throughout the Midnights era was incredible, complete with screen visual colors of clues, purples, and pinks to match the tone of the album. Next, Swift played “Bejeweled,” which recently became very popular on TikTok. As the song goes, Swift really made “the whole place shimmer.” The final song of the 3-hour and 15-minute show was an electric performance was “Karma.” It was a Taylor Swift show, so of course mass amounts of confetti were released into the crowd and a beautiful array of fireworks were shown in the sky over the Linc. After Swift, her band, and her dancers did their final bows, the lights went back on, and “You’re On Your Own, Kid” began playing over the speakers. A specific line in the song was special to hear in the stadium, that being, “So make the friendship bracelets / Take the moment and taste it / You've got no reason to be afraid.” As we entered the stadium, everyone was handed a Bluetooth-powered LED bracelet that created an interactive light show throughout the audience during and after the show. These bracelets were like Swifties’ friendship bracelets with Swift as well as among each other, which is such a special thing to now be a part of.
If you ever have the chance to see Swift in concert, do it. Not only will she give the performance of a lifetime, but you’ll make memories you will never forget.

I was re-watching Miss americana when I got to Taylor’s eating disorder scene. That scene breaks my heart into 1 million pieces. I don’t think no one true person will understand what it is like to see your favorite comfort person go through something so traumatic and terrible. I used to starve myself because I thought my stomach was too big and I was never really comfortable showing my skin or looking in any photos of my younger self because I felt very ugly ducking like. Something Taylor says this about herself, about how she hated her stomach, too, and about how she hated looking in Photos, because it was a reminder of whom she is on the outside, it hits. It hurts a bit inside, knowing that I can relate to Taylor to that way - obviously not to be extent that Taylor has struggled with - but the fact that Taylor gave me strength to continue growing and loving my body. When I first became a swiftie, it was after evermore. The song that made me become a swiftie do with me! It was the lover album that became my favorite first introduction to Taylor Swift. So to hear Taylor talk about 1989 and reputation about her. How is she had to find herself through all that, and how she truly became herself during the lover era, it hurts and hints. I am still part of my own 1989 era because I don’t know what’s going on - I’m scared of the world and how everyone is going to perceive me as. But one day I hope to see the world like Lover Taylor does, and be proud of my body just like Taylor is. Now, I know everyone shits on me! But I have a special spot for it and I’m glad that out of all songs it was me! that made me find Taylor.

I think it ultimately comes down to a common sense thing. I'm about to be 17, so while I've been a fan (with the exception of Lover era and also most of the in between period of Red TV & Midnights) since Red, I obviously haven't been invested in the like stan culture side of things for the entire time I've been a fan because I was a very small child. I became a HARDCORE swiftie when evermore came out, and while I knew of Joe, I really did not care much about him. He was just there, and then he wasn't, and then she was dating Matty, and now she's dating Travis, just as she has dated many other people. People do that. It's not a wild concept.
I agree with your assessment of older people trying to marry her off. Very young fans (like younger than me, which baffles me. Me being born a year after debut came out is insane enough, but some of these people were born when Speak Now/Red came out and i just... Don’t think fandom spaces are a good place for people THAT young, or anyone really, as someone who was also in those space at like 13/14) scare me a little. Like it scares me that they are functional. It also scares me that are a lot of them are just SO, so so gullible. It's not there fault but it is very frustrating to encounter. It's the way of life. I know that. I was really fucking annoying when I was 13. Everyone was. I just don't think places like TikTok are the best place for them, nor were they for me.
This got very ranty - apologies. Dealing with dumb teenage stuff and feeling antsy.
I’ve been in fandom spaces since I was 11 (like going on websites and forums to look up stuff I’m interested in and I was also super into Yahoo! Answers) but the thing is when I was 11 the internet, while still a very strange place, was limited for me by virtue of dialup. I had to ask to “use the computer” and I had to ask again to “use the internet” because I was allowed more time on the computer than on the internet because the internet cut us off from the landline which was a big problem and also it was fuck expensive. We’d had it before I was 11 but I was really supervised before then and ONLY used it for school projects like to download a picture to stick on my project or something and my mom or dad or stepdad would do it with me also to make sure I didn’t download anything too big because again dialup so you paid for usage right and they didn’t want me downloading 50 million dolphin pics as 9 year old me would probably have done. At 11 I was allowed to “use the internet” but for like an hour a day tops if they were feeling very generous.
Then, when I was 13, we installed ADSL and I got *my* first computer that year. And since then I’ve pretty much been CHRONICALLY online - with some breaks for when I’ve been busy with like real world things but the breaks have lasted a year tops (and I mean that’s me being inactive in fandom not me not looking up articles and reading/watching things which I’ve done on the “breaks” too) like it really has been me being chronically online since I was 13 and if I’m dead honest, I’m not sure it was good for me. I think I was exposed to a lot of things I was too young for (but didn’t realize I was), I think I developed a more fighty personality, I think I wasted a lot of time that I could’ve spent doing something more productive (like obviously I did study and I did some extra murals and I had friends and I did and do exercise but if I’d spent my teens and early twenties idk doing my visual art - which I enjoy but am bad at - instead of arguing with people about Harry Potter and Doctor Who and shit like that, I think I’d be a better person for it).
I also believe that the internet’s changed a fair bit and not in a good way for kids - fandoms are now predominantly run through personal accounts, rather than on specialized forums, and platforms like TikTok and Insta are legit not super safe imho for kids to be active on because… kids are reaaally fucking stupid simply because they are kids and in my day being a BNF in fandom sorta just was cool for u but these days you could monetize it and idk about even kids your age thinking about socials as a career because they’re chronically online. Nothing wrong with doing Internet as your job but I don’t think it’s a decision kids should be making that early.
and yes, kids are gullible and lack life experience and often lack empathy (this is something that develops as you get older from a dev psych perspective - kids can’t really conceptualize it properly and they’re not supposed to be able to developmentally because they need to develop a sense of self first).
ultimately though, I’m not these kids’ parents or auntie or big sister (and neither are you) so we can say like “this doesn’t seem crazy good for them” but beyond that eh. They’re gonna say stupid stuff because they really shouldn’t be THAT online in the first place lol. Nothing wrong with enjoying whatever it is you are enjoying at 13 but being active in fandom spaces isn’t the best for you imho and if it were my kid, I’d limit screen time and actually tbh if it were my kid I’d like make an effort to be involved in the fandom too to a degree to see what’s going on and that my kid isn’t following complete psychos. Like if my kid was super into idk something I know fuck all about and don’t participate in the fandom of, I’d make it my mission to find out what’s going on there. I think a lot of millennial parents are doing that, I wouldn’t be special. But a lot of Gen X parents, while also very into internet, don’t seem to fully grasp what’s going on here. And Boomers are REALLY confused by internet so the contingent of Boomers with kids in their teens (and there are some) are really gonna do the 2024 version of what parents did in the 70s/80s of like “okay go out and be freeeeee” and idk that they should be doing that lol.
Anyway, this was also a rant, but I think it’s on parents.

Taylor Swift's Portuguese Fan Accidentally Live Streams Her Boyfriend’s Proposal During 'Love Story'
Condé Nast (through Vogue Taiwan), CC BY 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0, via Wikimedia Commons Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has brought unforgettable moments to fans around the globe, but for one fan in Portugal, the concert turned into a life-changing experience. Beatriz Simões, a dedicated Swiftie, was live streaming the concert for her friends on social media when her boyfriend, Ricardo Matos, proposed to her during the iconic song 'Love Story'. The Eras Tour stop at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon was already special, featuring a mix of Swift's classic hits and new tracks, including the debut live performance of 'The Tortured Poet's Department'. However, it was the romantic proposal during 'Love Story' that stole the show. Simões, 23, had no idea that her boyfriend, Ricardo Matos, 20, was planning to propose. As she streamed the concert live on Instagram, she captured the magical moment when Matos got down on one knee. The proposal took place during the eighth song of Swift’s 46-song setlist. As Taylor Swift sang the lyrics, “And said, 'Marry me, Juliet, You'll never have to be alone, I love you and that's all I really know,” Matos seized the moment, surprising Simões completely. In an interview with People, Simões recounted the moment with emotion. “He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said, ‘Marry me, Juliet, you’ll never have to be alone,’ It was a total surprise.” Overwhelmed with joy, she immediately said yes, hugging him tightly while her phone continued to stream, capturing the background of the concert instead of the proposal itself. “I’m still in total shock. It was magical, and everyone was so happy,” she added, reflecting on the moment. Simões and Matos have been together for three years, having known each other for five. The proposal occurred in section 3, row 5, with Taylor Swift continuing her performance unaware of the personal milestone her music had just highlighted. The event quickly became a topic of discussion among fans both at the concert and online. Although Simões couldn't capture her own reaction due to the surprise, another concertgoer, Keren Noyman, managed to record the proposal from a different angle and shared the video on TikTok. Noyman, 28, who was present at the concert, changed her camera’s focus from the stage to the couple, capturing their joyous moment. “I felt jealous because I went with my boyfriend of eight years last time and got no proposal,” she jokingly told People, adding that she has always enjoyed watching such moments on screen and was thrilled to witness one in real life. The video quickly garnered attention on social media, with fans expressing their happiness for the newly engaged couple. One user wrote, “Was so cute to watch on the stream, so happy for them.” Another commented on Simões’s dedication to live streaming, “She’s still live-streaming after the proposal…so sweet.” Yet another fan, who had been following Simões’s updates on X, added, “I don’t know the bride-to-be. I’ve read her tweets lately on X, so I thanked her for continuing with the live stream after this big moment in her life.” This heartwarming proposal adds to the long list of memorable moments inspired by Taylor Swift’s 'Love Story'. For years, the song has been a favorite at her concerts, often serving as the perfect backdrop for romantic gestures and proposals. The lyrics “marry me Juliet” have become synonymous with the hopes and dreams of countless fans. This latest proposal during the Eras Tour in Lisbon is a testament to the enduring impact of Swift's music on her fans’ lives. As Taylor Swift continues her tour, she brings not only her music but also opportunities for her fans to create lasting memories. The story of Beatriz Simões and Ricardo Matos is a beautiful example of how Swift's songs resonate deeply with her audience, often intertwining with their personal milestones. The couple’s unexpected engagement during 'Love Story' has now become part of their own love story, one that they, and the world, will remember for years to come. Man. I saw your anons talking about her 30 by 30 article and I decided to read it and it actually kind of broke my heart? Because it really really seemed like Joe was so good for her. He taught her how to not care so much, how to be better in relationships and supported her so much when she was struggling only for her to turn around and be just. So relentlessly cruel. It’s really tragic because I became a swiftie (not full blown insane, just I started listening to her music more) during the joe era, not really on purpose but because I could sense that she felt more settled and mature. She just seemed like she was growing up and it made me respect her, and her love songs felt like they had more depth. I don’t know what happened between them but I think she really lost something special when she decided she wanted to recreate her 2015 life.
