So first thing’s first, here’s the boys the best I can draw them. The most important thing when learning to draw new characters is identifying what makes them look like them. We’ll start with the faces since that’s, in most cases, the point of focus.

Leo’s face is a pretty tall and vaguely pentagonal. His face is also very angular, the corners of his cheeks and top of his head are very sharp. Leo has the traditional style mask with tails that drop down to about his waist.

Donnie has that smart boi forehead and majestic eyebrows. His forehead often has a soft curve to it while, similarly to Leo, his cheeks and jaw use sharp angles. Remember too that the top of his head is flat, there’s no curve. His mask is that newer pirate style that wraps over the top of his head, with the tails looking like curvy squares.

Mikey’s face is a combination of a rounded square and a circle. The top of his head, while much rounder than Donnie’s, is somewhat square. The bottom of his face is a curve. Sometimes I draw the curve in line segments, but it’s not a requirement and won’t impact the way he looks. In general though, Mikey has a very circular face. His mask is the traditional TMNT style with the rounded bouncing tails on the back.

Raph is arguably the hardest to get right for some odd reason. Really though Raph’s face is just a shorter version of Leo’s face with slightly more exaggerated angles. His face is like a fat pentagon. Also tip: Raph’s eyes are always just a little smaller then you think they’re going to be. Trace some scenes from the ROTTMNT movie, you’ll see what I mean. Raph’s mask is the same style as Donnie’s where it covers the whole top of his head. There’s a small nick on the edge above his right cheek and the tails are tattered.

Okay, next are their markings! They play a lot in how easily identifiable they are.

I figured these diagrams should help as a little map as to what spots go where.

Alright, now we’ll look at their shells. There are many amazing diagrams and explanations for drawing their shells on Pinterest I’ve found, but I’ll sum it up here as best I can.

Leo’s shell is very sleek in design making his is profile look the thinnest of his brothers. Many people describe his general body shape as being an inverted triangle.

Donnie’s shell is very straight with hardly any curves. I didn’t include his battle shell in this since that qualifies as “gear” in my opinion, so you get to see what Donnie’s shell looks like! You’ll notice that the sides of his shell are very wide, which I’m guessing is because the curve of his carapace is so shallow.

Mikey’s shell is very similar to Leo’s but is a lot thicker and boxier(haha get it? Cause he’s like, a Box Turtle? :D I’m so lame…). He’s also much rounder and the distance between his plastron and carapace is pretty big.

Raph’s shell is probably the most complex of the boys because of all the spikes. Good things to keep in mind are that the spikes on the top of his plastron angle out, and spikes on his carapace flow up. In general think of Raph as a pentagon, he’s got big broad shoulders and arms and almost comically short legs. (And yes, I’m aware that I didn’t include the side of his shell here, it was too big to fit on the diagram. But just to give you an idea of where it should be, around the “w” in “flow” is where it should connect to his carapace.

Okay! So now that we’ve covered what the boys look like, let’s apply it to their bodies!

Here’s a quick sketch of Leo. “Oh, but Indie” I hear people say, “I can only draw basic shapes and stick figures!” Well to that I say good because that’s what I’m doing too!

For drawing action, it’s crucial to capture the energy of the character. And in a style like Rise’s energy is an iconic trait. So I’ve re-invented this “shape method” to actually be useful. The number one thing is that these shapes are loose guides as to the positioning of the body. Don’t think of these shapes as “well chests are like cubes and arms are like rectangles.” These shapes are place holders. I could replace those circles with stars and it wouldn’t change anything. I just use circles because they’re faster to scribble and stand out against the hard angles of everything else.

Here’s a picture of the shapes overlayed on the image, as you see, these shapes are guides to help comprehend a complex angle in 3D space. Sadly I don’t have much I can assist with on proportions, since I learned purely by studying total uncreepily real life people and myself (I swear I’m posing in the mirror for purely educational reasons! Okay!?).

But anyway, for this kind of thing, practice is the only remedy. Just draw action pose after action pose. Trace scenes from ROTTMNT and the movie to teach your eye to see what things should look like and to train your brain to recognize patterns of shapes and angles.

It is Kevin's turn to deal with the press, but he sends Neil a significant look on his way over to them. Neil has nothing to add since he'd been sidelined all night, but he steps closer in case Kevin needs to redirect anything his way. Kevin gives his best press-ready smile to the camera before motioning Andrew over. Andrew takes up post alongside Neil but doesn't look at the reporters. The interview starts off predictably with comments on the game and the impossible points Kevin had scored. Neil half-tunes it out until Kevin is asked about semifinals. The Bearcats are going home as the lowest-scoring team of this elimination round. In two weeks the Foxes will be taking on two of the Big Three. "I'm looking forward to playing USC again," Kevin says. "I haven't spoken to Jeremy or Coach Rhemann since I transferred but their team is always amazing. Their season was nearly flawless this year. There's a lot we can learn from them." "Still their biggest fan," the interviewer jokes. "You're up against Edgar Allan again, too, in the biggest rematch of the year. Thoughts?" "I don't want to talk about the Ravens anymore," Kevin says. "Ever since my mother died it's been Ravens this and Ravens that. I am not a Raven anymore. I never will be again. To be honest, I never should have been one in the first place. I should have gone to Coach Wymack the day I found out he was my father and asked to start my freshman year at Palmetto State." They let you forget until other people buy into it, be it fans swaying too far the wrong way or the ERC calling them out on their schemes. Then they don't want to play that game anymore, and they skip straight to the elimination round. Did you know I've never been skiing? I'd like to try it one day, though." It is too much all at once for her to catch the significance of that last remark, but it will only take a couple moments. Neil understands right away, and the adrenaline that floods his veins makes him sway a little on his feet. He shoots Andrew a quick look. Andrew doesn't return it, but he is definitely paying attention. The stare he has trained on the back of Kevin's head is intense. Kevin doesn't wait for her to put two and two together. "Tell the Ravens to be ready for us, would you? We're already ready for them." Kevin turns and walks away.

dilf!onyankopon likes letting you have moderate reign over his money. he isnt too fussed about what you spend it on but best believe he demands to see specific things that you buy. not so he can keep tabs, but so he can see how good things look on you.

Urrrmmmm when it comes to Minsu I’m quite neutral if that makes sense? I don’t have much of an opinion on him as a character BUT he is a perfect candidate for my mean/noncon tickling ideas, he reminds me of a wet paper towel or the noise a laminated sheet makes when you wobble it. SO LETS GET INTO IT LETS GOOOOO

(This is just an excuse to bully Minsu oops. IM SORRY BOY)

Okay let’s be honest this man is BULLIED. This poor guy has to deal with Namgyu AND Thanos. Thanos is at least well-intentioned with him (as well as can be I guess…) but Namgyu genuinely just sees him as a plaything to take stress out on.

At the start of the games, when Minsu is first introduced via Semi, the bullying takes place in the form of being pushed around and the occasional roughhousing (Thanos thinks he’s just playing but Minsu is internally freaking out). Namgyu and Thanos are all over him, knowing they can manipulate and puppeteer him due to his anxious disposition.

It’s not until the Thanos team are sitting around in the dorm eating their daily meal (in this instance it was a red bean paste bun) that Minsu’s ticklishness was discovered. Let’s be so fr, this man is DEATHLY TICKLISH, like you can just tell.

Namgyu had already finished his food when he decided that wasn’t enough and an idea formed in his head. Well, not really an idea, more just a ‘I can bully Minsu into giving me his share’. He walked up to where the younger man was sitting on a higher step and put his arm round his shoulder, ‘come on bro, we’re friends, you don’t need that right? I’m the stronger one anyway, how will I make sure we get through the next game if I’m thinking about food the whole time?’

Minsu hesitated, heart beating anxiously, bc like…this has never happened before. So far the two pill poppers had just been a pestering nuisance, but now his food is in danger? Isn’t that a bit far?

Namgyu decides the pause is too long and jabs him in the side. ‘Hey Minsu, are you even listening to me?’

AND THATS WHEN THE SECRET IS DISCOVERED! OH NO OOPS he lets out a sort of cross between a shout and a laugh? It takes him so by surprise. Namgyu is immediately intrigued, because he’s an actual sociopath and any sign of weakness is an invitation to him, even something as silly as tickling.

Chaos ensues (you asked for headcanons and this is turning into a full fuckin novel so I’m gonna go ahead and skip that storyline lmaooo) and it ends up with namgyu having two servings of food that day.

Since then, whenever he’s just kinda…bored? Namgyu will tickle the shit out of Minsu. It’s just something he finds so funny and entertaining. He can’t get in any REAL trouble with the guards or anything because it’s only tickling, right? He tickles Minsu for as long as he wants and finds the entire thing HILARIOUS.

Minsu’s worst spots are his whole body. Just fuckin everywhere. However he does laugh hardest when you form a claw with your hand and vibrate it on his stomach akshdhdjsk he HATES that so much, most intense feeling ever and all he can do is laugh. His laugh is super squeaky and he ends up hiccuping if he’s tickled for long enough (something Thanos and Namgyu love to exploit) and he cries easily.

The pill-poppers like to tease him throughout the entire time.

‘Awhh Minsu, you’re crying? Are we really that mean?’

‘What’s worse? Me tickling your stomach, or Thanos down there on your knees?’

Thanos is usually the one to stop it before it goes tooooo far. He cares about Minsu in his own weird way and when his laughter goes silent, that’s usually when Thanos will say ‘alright bro, he’s had enough’. Sometimes he’ll just watch as Namgyu goes to town on him, too high or lazy to contribute, and he’ll keep an eye on the situation every now and then to make sure it isn’t being taken too far. God help Minsu if Thanos isn’t around to help his ass tho lmaoooo

Minsu is also ticklish on the back of his neck/ears but not in the way the rest of him is. He actually enjoys these as they relax him and lowkey put him to sleep aaaaa. Usually Semi is the one to use this technique bc she’s not a psychopath like the other two and he deserves to be happy! Let him enjoy things!

has the most dramatic reaction ever. your surprise could have been handing him a burnt cake you'd made and he'd be sobbing all over it. as it were, however, you'd planned a whole spread of food for him while he'd gone to the cinema with some of his friends, and so he ends up being an inconsolable mess at your feet because it all smells so good and why didn't you tell him you knew how to cook??? you can't finish everything, but you two try your best, and he's grinning dopily bc he's all happy-full and it's all because of your wonderful cooking

dokyeom:

another person who genuinely had no idea you were planning something for him. when you wake him up with breakfast in bed, he thinks it's going to be a quiet day, but oh boy is he wrong. finds himself absolutely loving it as you rattle off all the plans you have for the day while he's stuffing his face with pancakes. takes pictures of everywhere you go and everything you present to him. kisses you softly under the night sky as you're sitting on the roof of your house, telling you quietly and sincerely that this was the best birthday event he's ever had

Namjoon

He can't help but to watch you as you play with your niece. You both were babysitting while your sister and brother-in-law were out for a date night.

"Okay, now who is your favorite uncle?" He hears you question your niece, making his eyebrows furrow in confusion, knowing you only have one brother.

He moves closer to hear what's going on better, only for him to hear your niece begin to chant his name.

"Joon! Joon! Joon!"

"Good job baby!" Namjoon absolutely swoons, running up to you both and taking your niece from your arms, swinging her around as she claps her hands.

Jin

"So, we don't have any more fruit, but we do have some yogurt?" Jin questions as he turns to you, where you stand at the kitchen island holding your nephew on your hip.

"That'll work!" You exclaim, just happy there is something in the fridge your fruit hungry nephew will eat.

"Now, why don't you hold him while I get his high chair from the living room." You hand Jin your nephew and go to the living room, leaving your two favorite boys alone.

"Now, it'll be our little secret, huh?" Jin whispers to your nephew, handing him a small little spoonful of whip cream before reaching for the yogurt.

"Jinjinjinjin." You nephew babbles, but all Jin hears is his name.

"BAby! He said my name!" Jin yells out, your nephew still repeating his name to varying different cadences and tones.

"Oh yeah, ive been trying to teach him." Your nonchalant tone is ignored by him, as he jumps up and down with your nephew in excitement.

Yoongi

Daycare was filled with f many children but he couldn't find your niece. He was the one supposed to pick her up from daycare today, seeing as you had a last minute appointment.

"Hello, I'm here for (niece's name)." Yoongi say's to the first worker he can find, but is ignored in favor of the man chasing after a running toddler.

"Uh, okay." Yoongi just keeps moving forward, only to see your niece wobbling toward him, yelling his name, well, a version of it."

"Yooni. Yooni. Yooni." Oh my god, Yoongi doesn't think he's seen anything cuter than you, but maybe your niece wins this round.

"Hi, baby." He coos, picking her up in his arms and giving her a kiss on her temple.

"Did your auntie teach you my name?" He questions before humming to himself as he carries your niece and her bag to the door.

Hoseok

"Now, are you sure I'm doing this right, baby?"

"Yes Hobi, I promise." You watched as your husband tried to wrangle your nephew into his onesie for bed. It was a little funny for you, seeing as your nephew didn't want to go to bed and knew that you both were trying to get him to bed.

"Obi Obi Obi!" Your nephew chants in-between giggles, think his uncle was playing with him. His words stops Hoseok in his tracks, knowing your nephew was saying his name, or well, as best as he could.

Hoseoks, head whips around to look at you, a sheepish smile on your lips as your surprise for him kind of failed, but still ended up working.

"Uh, surprise?" You give him a grin, listening as your nephew continues to chant your husbands name.

It takes a couple more long minutes before your nephew is dressed and in bed before Hoseok is upon you and presses kiss after kiss on your lips in excitement and happiness.

Jimin

"Now, little one, say Minie." Jimin pleads with your niece again, trying to get her to say his name before she says your brothers name. He is determined to be the favorite uncle (even if you're not married yet).

She just continues to giggle, thinking he is playing a game with her as he bounces her up and down in his lap. His facial expressions of dramatic despair aren't really helping his plans either.

"Please, for uncle Minie" He tries again, only to get more giggling and a small hit to his cheek as a reply.

You can't help but feel a little bad for your fiancé. So you decide to show him what you've been working on the past couple weeks when he was away on tour.

"Alright, babygirl. Why don't we show uncle Minie what we've been working on, huh?" You sit behind Jimin, leaning on his shoulder as your niece listens and reveals your surprise.

"My Minie!" She practically screams at him as she jumps at him, almost knocking him back from the force of her excitement.

Jimin's eyes are wide, mouth open in shock as holds her to his chest. It takes him a couple of seconds, but then he moves quickly, holding both you and your niece in his arms and almost bouncing in excitement.

Taehyung

"You know, love, I don't think I'm doing this right?" You turn away from stirring the soup on the stove to see your nephew literally hanging and swinging from your boyfriend's arm.

You can't help but let out a small laugh at the expression of confusion on your boyfriend's face, and the happiness on your nephew's.

You turn back around, turning the stove off and moving the soup to let it cool down before turning back to your two guys, watching as your nephew tries to climb up onto Taehyung's shoulders.

"tae tae tae tae tae." Your nephew repeats, something you're not sure your boyfriend can even hear as he talks over your nephew.

"Is he supposed to do this? How is he this strong already? Doesn't he need to take a nap?" Your boyfriend just continues to ramble, unsure of himself until he stops.

"TAE!" Your nephew is yelling now, pulling at his hair, trying to get his attention.

"Did he just say what I think he said?" Taehyung's eyes are wide, his body frozen as he stares over at you, now noticing the smile growing on your lips.

"I taught him how to say your name while you were out with Jungkook."

As soon as those words leave your lips, Taehyung, with your nephew still clinging to him, moves over and cups your cheeks, kissing you deeply on the lips causing a noise of disgust to leave your nephews lips.

Jungkook

"Do it again!"

"Please, (nephew's name)!" Jungkook pleads with your nephew as he walks into the room, holding your nephew against his chest and walking your way.

"Show your aunt what you did, please!" Jungkook continues his pleading, making the grin on your nephews lips grow wider as he enjoys the "game" they're playing.

"What did he do, exactly?" You question, the side of your lip tilted up as you try not to smile, knowing exactly what your nephew was doing, you having put him up to it.

"He said my name!" Jungkook exclaimed, excitement lacing his tone as he looks at you.

"Oh, did he?" You question teasingly, pretending you don't believe him.

"Yes!" He turns back to your nephew, "Now, don't be shy, show auntie what you did?"

It seems your nephew had enough teasing, and decided it was time to say it again.

"Kookie!" Your nephew claps his hands, proud of himself as Jungkook bounces him in his arms, happy that he didn't imagine what happened.

"See!"

"Yes, baby. I see." You smile at your favorite men.

after a long day of work, you made your way back home in a taxi, tired but energy saved for at least a few rounds of whatever game your online bestfriend feels like playing today. that friend was named lee heeseung, you two have been friends for around 2 years now, and in the past year you found out a secret that he’s been trying his best to hide from you.

heeseung was a pretty famous kpop idol, not only pretty famous, but his group (ENHYPEN) was a huge recent hit globally and in korea. you only found out about him when your bestfriend dragged you to their concert, recognizing his face as you enjoyed the concert.

even after the argument you two went through after you found out, you realized theres no reason for you to be mad at him, you understood why he didn’t want to tell you and you slowly but surely understood that. but today, you didn’t expect the surprise you would be getting when you got home.

you got home, turning on your pc and connecting your headphones, noticing heeseung was already online so you called him, his face that held his signature bright smile that popped up on your screen when he answered your call, but he wasn’t in his normal dorm set up? you can’t lie, heeseung was really, and i mean really attractive, to the point where you’re 99% sure you had feelings for him, but of course you couldn’t admit that. i mean, doesn’t that seem kinda pathetic? falling for your online bestfriend of 2 years, whos a kpop idol as well.. what would he think? “hey yn, you look tired. you just got off from work didn’t you?” heeseung spoke, his english getting better day by day. “yeah, is it that obvious?” you said with a slight laugh. “where are you? i dont hear sunoo screaming in the back, and your background looks different” you said, half joking about the sunoo part.. “oh im just, somewhere else right now.. sorry if my quality might be bad, im on my phone right now. i was wondering if you just wanna sit and talk today, no games, just us” he said, slightly struggling with some of his words but you thought it was cute and nodded. “sure, im too tired to play anything right now anyways.” you responded, and started your guys conversation.

you soon got so tired while talking to him about your week, you didn’t even notice the way he turned off his camera and just listened to you talk, not knowing what he was doing, until you were interrupted by a doorbell ringing. “oh heeseung, someones at my door ill be back” you told him, getting up from your chair and putting on your slippers, sliding off the headphones from your ears as you make your way to the front door, opening it and your jaw dropping.

there he was, heeseung with the widest grin on his face ever as he hung up the call on his phone, his arms wide open as you stood in the doorway, trying to process what was even going on. “what? are you gonna stand there or come hug me?” he said, laughing a little as your basically jumped into his arms. “what are you doing here?!” you said, pulling away from the hug as his arms were still wrapped around your waist and lower back, still holding you close. “i wanted to surprise you, i also had something i wanted to say in person,” he said as you looked at him waiting to continue. “i like you yn, we’ve been friends for all this time and i couldn’t help but fall for you. you’ve always been there to make me happy even if we were thousands of miles away, when i was tired from practices and comebacks, even just your voice boosted my energy. i told my members about you non stop, they’re actually here in nyc with me ince we’re on vacation. and before you say anything! don’t worry about my idol career, i talked to my company and staff about everything so we have it under control, just please say yes yn..” he said, making eye contact that soon got cut off by your lips connecting. you pulled away with a big smile on your face. “of course heeseung, you dont understand how long i’ve been waiting for this.”
