1. How did you come up with the idea of your rewrite? Was it from watching the Disney movie or other people's rewrites?

I got inspiration from both my mutuals, the movie, some tropes i love from watching different anime and reading multiple Webtoons.

So my little wish au was born. It was initially was just going to be my little secret, just drawing my own version of Asha and Starboy and writing down some ideas for the AU whenever I have ideas for it, but when @signed-sapphire tagged me to recreate my Asha and Starboy on this picrew they found, well-

I was forced to reveal my two kiddos 🤧

ANYWAYS-

Lots of stuff changed compared to the first draft too.

I actually had two other wish AUs before the current one i have right now.

One is a sort of villain AU of Asha and Starboy, where i named that Starboy Alzir. (I can't remember why i named that guy like that tho)

And one where Asha is the thought to be dead princess of Rosas turned vigilante of some sorts, also with a Starboy (also named Orion). The guy was WAY less traumatized than the current Orion, Good for him!

2. How does SFTS!Asha interact with other Wish AU Ashas?

The Kingdom of Roses and Thorns 🥀(by @your-ne1ghbor) My Asha enjoys spending time with Neighbor's TKoRaT!Asha, they would probably talk about hobbies and what they do to alleviate boredom when confined inside a castle. Though my Asha mostly focused on her job of doing paperwork and castle finances and whatever the heck a princess's job is inside the castle idk. Imagine Navier from Remarried Empress, i definitely got inspired by her a lot when it comes to my Asha.

The Fallen Star 🌠 by @signed-sapphire She would probably not get along with Saph's Asha very much, she'd also try to reel TFS!Asha back whenever she's being rude to someone.

I feel there would be a scenario where TFS!Asha would be ranting to my Asha about the TFS!Seven teens for not appreciating their perfect and benevolent princess and my Asha would just be looking at paperwork and be like-

He'd also applaud that Aster was ready to square up against his Magnifico too, i still remember the swords he made out of stardust, even though it didn't hurt Magnifico, it was still one of my favorite moments.

Wish Granted 💫 WG!Star!!!! i love this little bundle of Joy, Orion would have a bit of a hard time keeping up with Star's energy at first though. He'd also be pretty protective as Star doesn't seem to recognize how dangerous his royal couple is.

The Wishing Kingdom 🏰 I remember wave mentioning that Antares has a tendency to lie a lot. Due to a past experience, Orion manifested the ability to tell when someone is lying. Whenever Antares lies about something, Orion...would not call him out on it, in public at least. He'd first yank him somewhere private and ask if he's okay and that he's here if Antares needs someone to talk with.

The Assistant and the Star 📚 He can heavily relate with having healing powers yet not being able to save people who they needed to protect. (I love Altan's backstory btw) On a less angsty note, They'd bond over being the only Starboys having fluffy fur on their outfits. Orion would start a "Starboys with Fluffy fur on their outfits" club, only with two members at the moment :')

4. How long does your storyline go on?

In universe it would either be a few months or a year at most.

Cause I feel like it would be like an anime/cartoon(??) series with episodes in it to show dynamics of side characters with one another, or Asha and Orion shenanigans, The Royal couple shenanigans, even an episode dedicated to Asha's owl and Amaya's cat just having beef with each other. Asha and Orion needs time to establish trust with one another over time. Gain allies to stand against the King and Queen, Make the people doubt about the Royal couple, Arc where Asha gets to explore outside the castle walls!, Asha having her first public appearance, episode showing what happened to Rosas' previous King and second prince, Orion backstory, 7 teens POV, all that fun stuff.

(Disclaimer: I am NOT writing all that- I have NO writing experience whatsoever, my au is just a fun little concept that i would just either draw out or share little fun facts about whenever inspiration strikes)

5. Uhhhh.... Any Angst, I'm still new to it. 😅

Magnifico gifted Asha a crown made of thorny vines for her birthday, she still wears despite it being hurting because it's the only crown she has. And to remind herself that a princess's job is a heavy/painful burden.

6. How many songs are you including in your rewrite? Do they include A Wish Worth Making, or This is the Thanks I Get or perhaps an original song?

I don't really plan on Writing this au, it's more like a fun concept that i would share fun facts of or draw occasionally. But if there would be music in it, it would include most of the Songs that are already in the movie except:

and i would replace them with songs like:

(Because i freaking LOVE Epic the Musical okay? and Orion would be the type to sing a happy tune with some sinister lyrics sometimes lol)

Here, Orion makes an offer of partnership between him and Asha, he'd be her ally in the quest of preventing Magnifico and Amaya's plans, he also sings some of their crimes during the song too

"She can turn you into an animal that would end up on a plate! "She can all but make you fall in love, like you're on your hundredth date! "He can turn into a monster! And he'll grind you to the bone" "They have all the ways to haunt ya, if you take them all alone!"

He sings these crimes that they they have done in a catchy tune so Asha won't get too spooked but he makes sure that she understands that those two are definitely dangerous and you should be very cautious around them. Because they have definitely done these acts, and would definitely do it again to any person who would oppose them.

• They're only Human

Here the Royal couple sings a duet, looking down on the people that are so far beneath them. Also I'd imagine them singing the Annapantsu and Caleb Hyles Cover instead of the OG version (I still love the og tho)

Not entirely sure what rebellion song I would replace "Knowing what I know now" though

And if there would be an Original song, it would be a song about Asha singing/comforting Orion because he's having a mental breakdown. Singing to him along the lines of- "Deep breaths" "Count with me" "And Repeat"

Idk I'm not a songwriter

And it would be named something like- "Don't blame yourself" or "Things that weren't your fault"

And at some point, Orion would sing this back to her, like a reprise of sorts when she's the one who needs comforting

p.s. I just realized that "Here comes a thought" from Steven Universe would be a perfect alternative instead oh my god-

7. Is there a Flazino in your rewrite?

Oh yeah he exists, Asha gave him a raise once, surprised that he didn't quit being Magnifico's magic apprentice since all the previous ones quit and was never seen again (She's secretly investigating where they are as she caught wind of their families being worried sick about them). Flazino didn't know why his salary increased and who did it, cause it's definitely not Magnifico or Amaya, but he's grateful to that person.

He also goes around Rosas to help with his magic, as he's one of the only people in the kingdom authorized to use magic. (Being Magnifico's apprentice and all)

8. When can we expect the first chapter?

I'm not really a writer, so i actually plan to show some happenings in my au with drawings once motivation strikes once in a while, or if some people asks me about stuff about my au cause i don't really talk about stuff unless someone asks me about it

9. Are all 7 Teens included in SFTS, or is it reduced? Or are they just wiped from existence? 😂

They exist! They help their parents who work at the castle, like an internship of sorts so they would take their places once they have come of age. (This might change in the future who knows)

I was actually a little surprised at first because the person you describe is basically me in a nutshell lol 😆 like I have big social anxiety but you get me comfortable and I'll rant to you about Sdv or Hannibal for hours.

As for the Harvey part you gave me a great idea for a fic (Which is coming out later and I will gladly tag you in) but I think he'd be a little off put at first.

I think that Harvey himself suffers from a little anxiety and understands how your feeling, as he was the last person to move into pelican town before the farmer.

I think as far as the goofball side goes once Harvey notices it and they get more comfortable he falls fast and hard. Writing little love notes in his journal, drawing her eyes on medical charts (Which he feels terrible about and imidiately erases when he notices) he's like a middle schooler with there first crush

When it comes to rejections Harvey's all too familiar. I feel like everyone hes tried to really date before the farmer has eather turned quickly into a situationship or ended varey poorly. He definitely understands the place that the farmer may be coming from, though that doesn't mean its not a hurtle for both of them to jump.

Once he does find out that the farmer is interested in him, he goes out of the way to know there wanted. He invites them to share there morning coffee together, go on walks, help him with his model planes (something he won't let anyone else touch). He's not really used to relationships, so any little thing he can do to show the farmer he wants them.

Trollhunters Ending FIXED!!!

So....I've recently binged this entire series, fell in love with it and promptly gotten heartbroken at the shitty ending the movie gave us. SO!!!! I have seen many people hating on the ending and pretending it and the movie didn't exist. I came up with an idea that I am permanently using as a replacement for the ending that I'm pretty happy with. I can't write dramatically for shit BUT I can scribble ideas! If anyone wants to flesh this out into a one shot fic PLZ TAG ME JUST SO I CAN READ IT!!!!!

(also this is gonna read more like a screen play for a movie cus I'm a vid editor and that's how I picture stuff, doesn't always translate well into a written story! 😅)

- So everything stays the same up until Jim uses the kronosphere to go back in time

- Instead of going back to the beginning and changing everything, he travels back to when the Arcane order had finally gotten a hold of the real Nari

- Everything is still happening around him but is dead silent as if he were deaf and in slight slo mo as he gets his bearings (not actually deaf, just that kinda cinematic idea for drama!!)

- Looks around and sees everyone alive gathered around (maybe some sappy or quiet music plays on top of him seeing everyone alive, I dunno!!!)

- As this is the past they don't know Jim just came from the future and are instead focused on glaring at something

- IRL sound hits back in like a huge thud, LOUD AF!!!!

- Jarring Jim to turn around and see the Arcane order hovering in that same ball of magic that surrounded them the first time (that's what everyone is glaring at btw!)

- This is when realization for Jim sets in and he knows this is his second chance

- The music from the credits in the original film (or something like that) starts to build up (in my head it's like him and the music are going "not this fucking time!")

Cliffhanger-ish ending, doesn't get rid of the whole story, leaves it up to imagination on who still lives and dies, doesn't undo character development, has more of a feel good "HELL YEAH!!" ending to it (at least for me!) Doesn't feel like a definite ending but has enough to still feel like Trollhunters isn't just over and wrapped up nice and nearly with a pretty bow! For me this works and I'm happy to pretend this is canon. Tbh 90% sure this looks cooler in my head than how it's written down, I might get round to making a vid edit for it on YouTube (cus that's my specialty) but dunno if anyone actually wants to see that!

As I said I'm not a writer so apologies for this chaos!! I don't usually post these things that I think about (cus I've also imaged a better ending for game of thrones!) But I just really wanted to share this in case someone else also enjoyed the concept or in case anyone wants to translate this mess into something coherent!

hey everyone!! so, originally, i wanted to do one of these back when all of y'all were posting your 'follow forever' + favorite blogs lists for new year's eve, but at that point in time i didn't feel like i knew anyone well enough to make a full list. but now, it's been almost nine months (holy shit!!!) since i joined this fandom, and there have been so many people that i've connected with and who have made my experience on here so much fun and so special.

and ooo thanks for the question, I wanna hear your thoughts after this👀 I've already said a little bit about this in the tags of some other posts, as well as touched on it in my master post of the crew, but I suppose I may give a big final answer(for now, from this teaser).

judging the art alone, not the fact that we get a new anime or anything exciting like that, just the art alone... it's very pretty!

yea this is very pretty. the kid looks great, small and good, and his hair looks feathery and neat, so I approve. I think they nailed his general proportions, I think they'll do a great job at keeping them consistent during episodes! the image to the right does looks a tiny bit like a 3d asset, which is a bit jarring compared to the previous anime style, but I'm flexible towards this change. even if he looks like a video game cutscene character, I usually love cutscenes!!

but here's the drama I'm sure you're here for. yes, unfortunately, there are some wee things that I don't love as much🤏

the first thing, it really doesn't matter and I should shut up about it now... but YOU asked so ajdjfksksk why did they have to shrink sebs jaw cmon my favorite art of him ever was during the Greenwitch arc so don't tell me I'll NEVER be able to see that style of him animated😫 I just like prominent features man. I know he's meant to be pretty but but but....

ah okay. heres the main thing that I think most people may agree with.

these are two screenies of sebster from the teaser. honestly, as ☆luxurious☆ as his lashes are, I'm not a fan of the left image. the airbrush on his hair feels a tad overdone. I love the attention to detail, especially in the one on the right, it shows a lot of love! but there's just something about it that's a bit off for me.

and I think after 24 hours I've finally figured it out: it's the colors.

the realization started to hit me when I saw my favorite edit so far here by @ashxketchum. the colors have been edited to be much more saturated and warm. and I think this is exactly what is missing here.

I even tried my own hand at it, and yea personally, I think slapping a saturation, tint, and just a BIT of contrast on the whole thing can do numbers on it.

already I like it(no I'm not just praising my own work, it's not the best edit out there I did it in 30 secs). I think the reason for this is because the background is very rich in contrast and warm tones, so the characters(particularly sebastian who is all black) stand out when they are muddy and low contrast. I love stylistically when contrast is high, but that's just a personal thing, and I shouldn't hold a studio to those standards.

I tried it for the poster too though, which again I felt was a bit off. official art has never been the most top tear, and the poster is GOOD, the background is awesome and the two peeps looks amazing. but my problem with it was clear once I did another color edit.

again, I feel like everything was very muted in the left original, not to mention a tad monochromatic. I really think a kick of contrast and hue could do wonders.

BUT. I know that at the end of the day, it's not a big deal. I don't really care. would it make my day or whole year if they slapped a color filter on it, or continued to work on the color grading of the scenes? probably yea! but my opinion isn't obsolete, and most of all, I look forward to and respect the artists decisions.

so no I'm not "fixing" the art😅😒.

But now it's 4 am (thank you Rosa Linn, I can't say that seriously ever again), I'm having trouble sleeping since I'm not fully recovered from my cold, so, fuck it.

I'll go on a rant so... I'll add the little thing that "divides" the post so that is easier to skip

Ah....where to start...I could tell you how I started enjoying joker out but that's a wholeass post on itself...

So, I'm going to start with how I connect to each member.

Bojan, you were the one who "opened the doors" to me. Frontman doing his service. In Bojan I saw a lot about myself. I saw a guy who loves to make bad puns, who loves languages and brag about their multicultural knowledge. I saw a guy who can be awkward at times, who deal with anxiety problems... Who says they'll stay away from Social media and then proceeds to post the most unhinged things. I saw someone who likes to understand societies as well (please be my tutor, I really need to pass sociology this is year) and likes to fight stereotypes.

Kris told us Bojan's parents can be a bit more judgy and without going into a lot of details, I'll say I also understand that so much (I didn't want to bring sexuality into this, but even if Bojan turns out to be straight, I still relate to all the pressure is parents must put on him just because he goes against "the norm" in the Balkans).

Kris...my bitch.

How do I start?

Kris and I honestly have a lot of common too. The whole "bullying for falling at being one gender" thing hits so close. I don't talk about my gender much but I currently identify as a enby/gender fluid. However, for most of my life I was terrified of failing as a girl.

I remember coming home and asking my mom why was I different from the other girls (NOT IN THE WAY YOU ARE THINKING, PLS, I'M QUITE LITERALLY JUST NOT A GIRL 😅) and she would reply stuff like "Of course you are like the others, you have a vagina like them" - this sounds so bad and it made me feel so much worse because it didn't provide me with an answer at all to the bullying I endured. I had short hair, liked "boyish" things and so I was called a boy (+I got transphobic comments too ✌🏽😙). I was never as close with the girls because of it and boys would also exclude me from being too close to them. I was in the middle and I had to change my personality countless times to fit my assigned gender.

Now that I'm in university, I finally figured myself out and it's so refreshing waking up to see myself with short hair again, with more "genderless" clothes, having no problems with my little "moustachio" and being able to appreciate what I see in the mirror... learning to love myself.

Kris as we know him identifies as a man. He, however, also learned how to break the gender stigma (AND THAT OUTFIT IS A FUCKING STATEMENT) and learned that having confidence in himself is all that matters. No matter how long your hair is, no matter how you dance or sing, no matter the color of your pants. Be yourself and be proud of you are is really what matters!

Jan....I actually don't have a lot to say (I think I wasted most my words with Kris), but just like Kris I also love how comfortable Jan feels in himself and how little he seems to care about what others think. I love his sense of humor and his style. I love his voice and how sometimes he can get a little embarrassed off-stage...I would just really love to have him as a best friend honestly. He probably zones out instead of listening, but oh well 😅

Naceeeeee, my teddy bear. I also don't have the energy to dive too deep in the topic, but as someone who also struggled with body image issues, I'm so proud whenever Nace feels comfortable on his own skin. It's refreshing.

But obviously I gotta mention that post. It's kinda funny to me that he wrote that when I'm currently writing a story for my script class about how it is to live with divorced parents and how the feeling of belonging is something we strive for.

It's something I definitely struggled with all my life and it's getting worse as time goes on. It's so refreshing to see another person go through and talk about it and seeing that they reached the happy ending I'm also looking for...

Jure le chatton. You know I don't usually talk much about you because we know nothing about your life. However, that interview where you said you asked your mom why you were problematic, hit me hard. For a lot of reasons I have mentioned before, but also because I'm considered problematic by both my parents. I don't want to get into many details... It's 4m after all.

There's one thing I was going to mention on Bojan's part, but I figured it would fit the whole band.

I really really am looking up to these guys. They are around my age and they have done so much already. I have been stuck in the past couple of years due to my depression - and realistically I never thought of actually turning 18, let alone 20 - and seeing how much they worked hard makes me want to work hard myself. I haven't been able to, but hopefully I will...

Also, everyday I have been waking up in a good mood knowing I have met some incredible people thanks to this fandom and the boys! Like, excuse people actually care about what I write, what???? 😅

It's been a great experience so far. Let's see what this will bring me in the future :)

Here are six a lot of sentences I cut from Basil Pitch's Diary, which for now is just one baby chapter but the rest of which is coming soon eventually to a browser near you.

This bit's inspired by the fact that there was a Parliament election in 2015. I cut it because it felt kind of clumsy--sticking jokes in the character's mouths that weren't necessarily in-character--and also had the small issue of being completely, utterly irrelevant to the plot. (At least that makes it spoiler-free 😅.)

FRIDAY 6 MARCH Blood units 4, body temp 25, hair ducal, civic engagement meh, political parties at least 3. 11 a.m. Politickal Science. Professor Kates had us debate tomorrow’s Normal Parliament election, presumably because he didn’t plan a real lesson. Had never paid much attention to Normal politics before reaching voting age. Unlike Bunce. “…And that’s why I’m voting Lib Dem,” she concluded after talking for eight solid minutes. “You’re sixteen,” objected Wellbelove.  “Not a problem,” said Bunce, flapping her ring hand.  From the back of the classroom, the pixie chimed in. “What about the Green Pa—” Bunce made a rude noise.  “What about you, Simon?” asked the professor. “How would you vote?”  Of course the Mage’s Heir gets a platform for his inane views. What a blow when he finds out there’s no Butter Union party. “Um,” orated Snow. “I … I dunno. Labour, probably.” Snow turned to Bunce. “Like, some of them are nutters, yeah, but they’d fund stuff. Like,” he reddened, “schools and, like, social programs.” “Those are already funded,” said Bunce. “Not enough.”  “You expect the government to solve all your problems,” I quoted my father automatically.  Snow gave me one of my own You’re an idiot looks. “I really don’t.”  Shit. How many times had he been asked to solve the World of Mages’s problems single-handed? Bunce was still fired up. “Simon, you can’t just dismiss Labor’s xenophobic—”  I thought about what Snow meant and missed the rest of Bunce’s rant about something something intersectionality. As if she would willingly intersect with a Normal. 4 p.m. Am torn. Pitches always vote Tory, just like we’ll always vote against the Mage once we get back the franchise. (Fiona has a plan to steal it.) A liberal government would drain our coffers even drier.  But in our borough voting Tory means re-electing a man who opposed same-sex marriage two years ago. The craven claimed he wasn’t homophobic, he just had homophobic constituents. Do not see why the straight unwashed should control my freedom to marry.  Even worse is the Tory ghoul from Aldershot who stumped about “the aggressive homosexual community” using marriage as “a stepping stone.” As if I wouldn’t pay double VAT to be stepped on by an aggressive homosexual. Still. Am not simpleton single-issue voter; marriage equality is a fait accompli. And anyway, I’d only ever want to gay-marry Snow, straight and unwashed though he is.  Felt weirdly proud of him today for disagreeing with Bunce, especially when I realized the professor had singled him out not as Mage’s Heir but as spokesnormal. And that “social programs” meant his entire childhood.  Hmm. SATURDAY 7 MARCH 10 p.m. Resolved politico-moral quandary by forgetting to vote.

Look, it wasn't my idea for Baz to be a Tory. That was all Rainbow. I also do think Penny has a centrist streak inherited from Mitali but I have no idea real how this would translate into the Normal world.

I'm gonna try to keep this short because I could easily turn this into a hundred-page rant if I let myself, and I can't bring myself to do that to you. 😅

I've been a silent lurker on Bucktommyblr since season 8 started. I started watching the show live at 8x05 and immediately stopped watching it after 8x06 because the breakup made me sick to my stomach. Right now, I'm sticking to my plan of not watching anything in full until I know their direction 'cause I don't feel like getting burned again. 😅

Before 8x06, I followed the Bucktommy tag and interacted with pretty much any post. After 8x06, I became more of a silent lurker, specifically for your blog. And I wanted to thank you for your Bucktommy content regarding the break-up.

After the breakup, but before I found your blog, I was starting to think I was going crazy. Almost everywhere I looked, it was people criticizing Buck for the entire episode while never really mentioning anything Tommy could've done better (and the few things I saw criticizing Tommy were clearly meant as hate, not a genuine complaint, so I don't count those).

Frankly, I found it really hard to find a blog that agreed with me that both Buck and Tommy were to blame, and both could've handled things a lot better. Like, I remember when everyone talked about how horrible Buck was at talking to Tommy because he didn't know about Abby six months in. Everywhere I looked, everyone was saying the same things about this.

This situation officially introduced me to your blog. I saw your post on the situation where you essentially said, "Um, guys, you know Tommy also didn't know about the Abby connection six months in, right? Their lack of communication skills comes from both of them." Like, I saw this post, and I literally yelled, "FINALLY!!" Many people came to the conclusion that I was crazy that day. 😂

Like, I do get why people are more willing to criticize Buck. He's the character we've been following for 8 seasons, and it is frustrating to see him act in a way that people don't necessarily agree he'd act (I do have opinions on this as well, but this is already too long 😭). But it got to a point where it felt like people didn't like Buck anymore (and I know that the Oliver situation didn't help), but they were still super in love with Tommy while ignoring the things Tommy should be called out on, specifically regarding 8x06. Some takes started to genuinely make me question whether I should even ship them anymore because it seemed like a lot of people were using Buck to prop Tommy up on a pedestal where he did nothing wrong. I can't stand it when relationships are portrayed like that.

You were one of the few exceptions I found to this. You've called out both Buck and Tommy and respectfully argued your stance to people who disagreed with you, and I've really admired you for this, especially since (just based on post reactions) our thoughts seem to be in the minority. You're part of the reason I haven't given up on Bucktommy and still chance their tags on AO3 and Tumblr, and I really appreciate you for that.

I'm sorry this is so long and that I might've gotten a bit rambly. This is after I promised myself I wouldn't write too much and could've said more. 😭 If you want, I can continue this in other asks, but I think I've taken enough of your time.

Nonny you're basically explained all my feeling too(and id you want you can say more ofc). After the finale of the season it's really hard for me in a fandom too, and recently I'm def less active bc my own problems are not helping feeling good and make my love to the ship sour. But yes, unfortunately i saw kinda the same in buddie fandom, and it happened here. People love Tommy really much, put him on pedestal, and as with Eddie do not love to look at him with critical part. Unfortunately bc of it Buck became just a tool to write Tommy in fics. It's already not so about bucktommy as about buckTOMMY. And partly i understand why. Tommy is a new shining not deep explored character, unlike Buck. But love to character and ship moves to blind love to only one character who "can't do bad"

I maybe might seem critical to Tommy more, but if people look at the post I reblog too, they'll see i agree that Buck was wrong too(I also explore it in my fics too), but yes, unfortunately somehow a lot of people only decided that in the wrong is only Buck

I'm always try to respectful, bc ofc we're all different and have opinions, but I was, is and will talk how Tommy DID wrong with Buck too. Communication problems came from both of them, Tommy's speech that is really biphobic, the way maybe he didn't plan it but what he said basically means "I wanted fun time and it's your problem if you thought we're serious"- this again comes to problem with two street communication, but at least 6 months in Buck, maybe wrong way, but stated his expectations, and actually he stated them in 7x5 too, in the way he could when he only understood he is interested in men. Also, Tommy twice showed himself as a runner. Twice. And if we add Tommy's running from 118 before 1s, it means three times. Remember what is show's stance about 3 times being a pattern?

Rn actually both Buck and Tommy should do a WORK TO BE BETTER. And if smt Buck is doing it. He's not clinging, he is giving Tommy space. Is baking can be seen as clinging? Maybe, but basically show made a point to show that Buck is in love. Eddie is not over Shannon after 6 years, why Buck should be after a week or month?

Partly this is why i still have hope for next part of the season but I'm still not sure if I will watch life or not

A user like this has tried to have an argument with me as well but it was when my gaylor account was new which was in the beginning of this year. I swear it was so similar, just hating on gaylors and a lot of other queer ships and headcannons too (I remember supercorp and the girl on the bus specifically which was on this account as well). -> heisei generations forever (officially non-canon to the main timelines of both build and zi-o, though still a good enough homage to build's main story with a decent amount of ryusen) -> build new world: kr cross-z -> i heard the idol otaku is dating his fav special (basically just kazumi/misora nonsense from what i've heard, unfortunately) -> build new world: kr grease (i saw that you weren't keen on both new world movies as most build fans i know also weren't esp. bc of the het shenanigans (+ the weird evolt stuff that i've heard kinda feels like it's invalidating we already saw/learned in the main show, and it feels more like they just brought him back because they were milking his sheer popularity as a kr villain) that are apparently pretty typical of v-cine movies when compared to heavier gay coding in the main shows, sadly, so you can also take a page out of those other fans' book and not consider the nw movies canon or only cherrypicking the elements you like, but wrt the banjou stuff in cross-z specifically, i don't think him and yui are meant to be an unambiguously canon couple the way kazumi/misora and gentoku/sawa became in grease, as you can see a clear difference in how romantic both latter couples acted (even if i don't like both lmao, though i tolerate gentoku/sawa more than i do kazumi/misora simply bc i think g/s has funnier scenes than k/m, even with gentoku's unnecessary sexual proposition towards sawa in ep. 1 back when he was evil) vs. b/y, and also just the way banjou treated kasumi, his only 100% clearly canon girlfriend, vs. how he treated yui up to the end of the movie, and the girlfriend/date/best match comments in the movies seem to feel more like just jokes/trolling in hindsight (esp. since the b/y "date" at the end was literally just them selling stuff *sento* made, like something something sento is always somehow involved with banjou and his girlfriends, or 'girlfriend' in yui's case, so... lol. anyway), and also banjou appears to blatantly check out a shirtless killbas before they find out about him being the villain so ig the bi-coding was technically still going strong, plus the fact that yui just straight up disappears in grease which is supposed to be a direct sequel to cross-z and just isn't mentioned in any way (on which i have some bts info to spill btw, more on that in my next message) while sento and banjou continue to act like partners as usual, and in fact get paired up in a way that sets them alongside the pairing up of k/m and g/s in the same movie - so tl;dr: aside from the fact that we can just straight up ignore those movies, i don't think we have to worry about the yui stuff as a genuine invalidation of ryusen's romantic subtext-that's-practically-text, though it's still unfortunate they tried to pull this shit in the first place even if ultimately very half-assed and halfhearted, and you just kinda have to laugh at the audacity of doing all that *after* banjou made his little speech about sento being his hero, like you said)

-> kr jeanne and kr aguilera with girls remix (a revice spin-off included here on a technicality bc of sawa's presence, along with female characters from a few other kr seasons both in the heisei and reiwa eras alongside the titular female riders who i think i've told you before are the first major example of a lesbian-coded pairing in kr, though iirc they sadly also get hit with some plausible-deniability "they're like family/sisters" comments here though not really in the main show) -> kr outsiders (basically fanservice cash-grab slop from what i've been told that essentially is a suicide squad-esque project where various villains/evil riders from different seasons are assembled to battle a bigger bad guy, and evolt and misora are there in like a couple of episodes so 😔) [4/?]

as for the stuff ive watched, i finished the main eps first and then went for basically everything i could find that i knew had the build charas/story involved, so the only stuff from everything u mentioned that im missing are the 4 eps from zi-o, the revice spinoff, outsiders and the stageshows. i was thinking of leaving the crossover movies for later at first but then i also didnt wanna wait for if/when i watch ex-aid or zi-o so i just went for them (esp since u mentioned banjou chara development for one of them which i was Rlly curious about) and i enjoyed both, non-canon as they might be akfjdksf.. i think ill check out those zi-o eps but i probs wont watch the whole show (yet at least)

but yeah it rlly was a rollercoaster holy shit that entire final arc in the show was fucked up and evil?? in the best way possible??? i was crying literally the entire last three eps help ... the silly little rabbit w a death wish was too real...... i def saw what u meant by the end bit being weaker but honestly it didnt feel too bad to me, it probably wouldve been better executed if they had more eps to work w (which ik are strictly consistent for every season) + those actors that werent able to film, but i feel like for what they had to work with they did a rlly good job bc i was still hooked and Invested(tm)

also the rogue spinoff like i went in already liking gentokus chara a Lot after seeing the whole story so i was biased but i think they showed his desperation and spiral into insanity (? if it makes sense) rlly well there, it was def a lot more brutal but somehow i ended up liking the fight scenes in there more than the main story ones maybe bc they didnt have much of the cgi? either way it was a good insight into gentokus past/chara (and a little bit of takumis too who i always like seeing) and now i can Genuinely put him in the 'poor little meow meow who killed people' box so yay :) my silly shirt man i care him :)

then theres the new world movies which.....sigh......... Yeah............ those sure were movies ......... the comphet honestly didnt even bother me that much bc im so used to ignoring when writers pull shit like that (tho the whole banjou/yui thing did give me a fic idea in a way that i started outlining afkjdksgj) but the way they just undid the entire logic of the new world with the point of it being that its entire existence is only possible w evolt and the pandora box no longer existing is just. Johnny will always have some sibling, it just depends on what’s useful to the story. Gender and age varies, but he has at least one family member he vibes with a lot.

Gaz sometimes has a twin (identical/fraternal/paternal varies), or at least one sibling. Someone in the immediate Garrick family is not straight.

Ghost often has a hobby that’s very nature oriented - birdwatching, rockhounding, wild plant foraging, etc. He needs something to do to ground himself when things go topsy.

Omegaverse with Shepard/Joker?

So this turned into something more like meta or the old @headcanonwednesday In-Universe Ramblings or what I tend to tag as a not!fic, but I hope it still fills the prompt reasonably well. Or is at least entertaining? 😅 (Of course, now I have to figure out how to post it. And now I have a meta/not!fic collection on ao3 apparently.)

Every military in earth's recorded history has always made pheromone blockers mandatory while on active duty. Close living quarters and emotional conditions followed by separation as people were transferred or went home or died... it was that or half their soldiers never would go home and settle back into 'polite' society, too hooked on the heightened pheromones of such a tightly knit group to accept the looser connections more common in civilian life.

Going into space made a whole range of hormone and pheromone blockers even more common, what with recycled air and water that either tasted a bit like everyone on board or too much like the chemicals used to sanitize it.

And then Humanity made first contact. Dextro-pheromones were undetectable to levo species (and vice-versa) which added to how poorly Turian to Human communication began... but the Citadel was a revelation.

Almost an apocalyptic one.

Asari pheromones were completely unblockable by every technical, genetic, or chemical process humanity had figured out. Even staying in a fully enclosed suit didn't work once you were sharing an atmosphere outside said suit. (Once trade opened up with other species, Humanity found rumors that the Salarian Task Groups had a method to do it... but no one could get further than rumors.)

Asari were thus omnipresent. And while the sense other species could get of them was almost universally pleasant, would shift and change with age or mood or cycle just like anyone else's, they were also completely incomprehensible. Asari were there, you could tell exactly where they were, all the time, but that was it.

Somehow, the Asari had no trouble understanding anyone else's pheromones, regardless of chirality, age, attempted blockers and filters, or even atmosphere. (They could read the volus! Somehow! It made most non-Asari researchers devolve into swearing and ranting gibberish if you got them on the topic.) No one had a clue how they did it, and while most peoples assumed the Asari knew how it worked, they were not sharing.

Wearing a fully enclosed body suit or armor in atmosphere meant you were blocking pheromones to everyone except the Asari, which just added to the Asari advantage in political circles, and was thus considered at worst an act of aggression against non-Asari, and at best unbearably rude.

(A large part of why the Quarians were looked down upon, and the Volus never could quite get recognized as a full-fledged Council Species, was this low-grade irritation from everyone else at not being able to scent them while knowing that the Asari could, no matter how little anyone was willing to admit that was part of the problem.)

The Volus managed a partial exception in that something during the actual construction of their suits made them palatable to the Elcor, who, having an even more scent and pheromone based society than anyone else, had actual physiological symptoms (mostly vertigo and headaches, but occasionally full fainting spells and nausea and very rarely full-blown hallucination) upon having to be in close quarters with anyone completely blocking their scent.

No one wants to be anywhere near a dizzy or queasy Elcor, even beyond the ethical constraints against making another species that sick if it was avoidable. (Most Quarians added a pheromone mod to their suits during their Pilgrimage, something that would at least mark them as there to everyone else, especially the Elcor, even if it was clearly a series of artificial notes rather than a naturally varying, layered scent.)

Everything that humanity did historically as a matter of course to manage large populations in small areas or high-risk/emotionally heightened situations was no longer an option, not for anyone who wanted to leave Earth.

Part of Alliance training now involved pheromone acclimation, both in how to manage your own, and how to read everyone else's without being too invasive or rude about it.

Which brings us to Joker. Whose lifetime of complex medical treatments mean his hormone levels are not remotely standard and whose pheromone output is, shall we say, unique. (Potentially even a little distracting.) Historically that would have been a perfectly acceptable reason to be on some sort of blockers for the rest of his life, but he wants to fly spaceships.

Which means he can't do that.

Does this make him even more of a sarcastic bastard because every Human he ever meets tends to do a weird stutter/stop the first time they're in scenting distance? Yes, it does. (This is a bonus, not a detriment, I am not accepting opinions on this matter.)

Biotics tend to be less obvious about it, because their pheromones are also a bit weird in comparison to non-biotics, but most biotics have the same sort of eezo tang unlike Joker's very odd melange of various artificial hormones & gene-therapy-induced protein strands that were attempted to improve his bone development as he was growing. (Some of them even worked! Some of them didn't. Most of them didn't cause any particular negative side-effects, but all of them linger in his pheromone profile.)

Most non-Humans don't pick up on it, because Alliance pheromone training and gene therapy are similarly artificial to them, so they tend to think that's a Human Thing.

(It is kind of hilarious to most Alliance personnel on the rare occasion someone from Earth or the Colonies who hasn't had gene therapy ends up on the Citadel, because the non-Humans get so confused.)

Which means that Flight Lieutenant Jeffrey Moreau's friends, acquaintances, and assorted contacts he keeps on the modern-equivalent of speed-dial for the trading of favors and intel, are almost exclusively biotics, aliens, and all of three non-military/non-family people he's known since they were all going through cutting-edge medical treatments together as kids.

Which definitely doesn't help with some of his more conservative CO's, but is absolutely in his favor when the Normandy SR-1 is being built. Even if he hadn't been arguably the best pilot in the Alliance, he would've been Anderson's first choice because Anderson knew he'd get along with a non-traditional crew.

Anderson requests Joker, who is not-so-secretly delighted by a CO who realizes his odd background is a benefit not a detriment. Nonetheless, Joker is prepared to be his usual asshole self to the other Alliance personnel when they show up.

And then he meets Alenko, who is not just a biotic but an L-2 who gets just as many weird raised eyebrows as Joker does, and responds by being very calmly, diplomatically, exaggeratedly even-handed with everyone about everything. (And only occasionally rolling his eyes at them behind their backs when he's been especially provoked.)

And Joker meets Williams, who ALSO gets the side-eye, though in her case it's for her name rather than her scent, but who is very equal-opportunity unimpressed by anyone else's opinions which is delightful.

And most of all he meets Shepard, who regardless of background is an outlier by almost every possible human and galactic metric, and may give Joker shit for his attitude (depending on your Shepard) but never once calls him out on his skills or his scent.

Clogging tags is stuff like making the same exact post ten times to try and get attention, or tagging every post you make with inapplicable tags, or uploading all thirty fics you wrote for a monthly challenge in the space of ten minutes. Not just a handful of fics! I mean, if I have stuff written I’m going to post, I like to space it out so it’s more enjoyable, but that’s not really the same.
