caldre hurt/comfort hcs!!

such a good idea bro.

when andre has had a bad day it's usually bc smth (bullying) happened at school or he got overwhelmed with emotional anger from whatever. he becomes more snappy and erratic. he has quiet panic attacks where he doesn't cry or shake or anything and all of it happens in his head. others don't notice, but cal isn't others. andre isn't happy that cal can read him like a book bc he doesn't like being emotionally vulnerable, but there is not much he can do abt that.

to comfort andre cal:

let's him angerly rant abt wtv is bothering him. he watches andre get embrassingly mad abt it, but doesn't say anything, letting andre express his emotions w out even jokingly making fun of him because andre rarely opens up anyway.

brings up the upcoming zd and how they are going to show everyone, saying how none of the shit people do to andre means anything bc andre is sm better than them. cal knows how andre views zd as sort of childlike justice and destruction, and letting him fall back on that belief makes andre feel better.

joking around w andre abt unrelated shit to wtv is bothering him. making him smile and laugh and momentarily forget abt life is smth cal is very good at.

planning smth for them to do that he knows andre would go along w without question. he will tell him, pick me up at this time, and when he's picked up he says, let's go here. he leads them to places or things that andre will enjoy.

grounding touch when andre let's him. a hand on his shoulder or back, rubbing circles into his arm or wrist, a hug that's a little awkward.

grounding touch when they cross the line into becoming more of a romantic/sexual unlabeled relationship is different tho. cal will spoon andre and put his arms around him. play with the hair on the back of his neck. kiss his neck non sexually. (nsfw warning) distract him w consensual sexual favors, like blowing him.

when cal is upset it's usually bc of his derealization and dissociation and/or desire to die, sometimes happening for no decernable reason while other times bc smth at school triggered it. he zones out and his conversations and actions are disjointed from reality. think the last scene in the car before the shooting where cal took a while to respond to anything andre said as an example.

to comfort cal, andre:

invites him to do some mindless tasks w him, like play video games. he sometimes w drive them somewhere but tell cal he needs his help w directions from a map or smth bc that keeps cal's mind in the forefront.

I think andre would be very aware of cal's emotional state all the time, even tho it's not obv. cal doesn't think andre can tell at all. andre js doesn't know what to do to help and he gets in his head about it, not wanting to make things worse bc he silently cares sm.

he learned quick that talking abt zd can make things worse for cal when he is in those states, so he avoids it.

he invites cal to stay the night at his house so he can be away from his busy family of whom he would need to mask around.

he js let's cal talk slow and dissociate, whether it's good for him of not. cal appreciates it tho bc he feels like someone is always trying to get him to be normal, so it's nice to js be.

cal likes hugs, so andre hugs him even tho he is weird abt physical affection at times.

when things have been really bad w cal for a while, andre will buy a new video game or cd for them to share together to try and cheer him up. it sometimes works.

- lee know is big on equal treatment in relationships. it’s give and take for him. if you are someone who takes care of him, he’ll do the same with you. there would be times he can become detached, but will always come back and will give his partner the attention he didn’t give them when he was being kind of disconnected.

- he takes care of his partner. he hates seeing them sick, so he’ll be really cute trying to take care of them. i can see an image of him making his partner soup and making them eat up lol. it doesn’t have to be just physical sickness though. if his partner is going through a time of depression, he would be genuinely worried for them and would try everything he can do to make them feel better. he would not leave them in the dark at a time like that. he can sometimes feel bad that he can’t do more for them. he does go above and beyond making sure they’re okay.

- i had to add this in because it’s sticking out to me. i’m getting something about an unconventional relationship. i’m putting this as a pro because i don’t see this as a con at all. he’s very picky, however, some may think he’d go for the typical beauty standard, but maybe that’s not really true for him. now i’m not saying his partners will be ugly lol. im just getting it’s unconventional in some way. for example: a foreign partner, large age gaps, power imbalance, etc. if that’s not the case, it could just be the example above where his person might not fit the beauty standard, which can make the public surprised. I’m not sure if this is just 1 person i’m picking up or he just naturally attracts people like that.

- i get the feeling that he would like to learn with his partner. maybe they can both attend a barista class. that’s just an example lol. even if it’s something he wouldn’t typically do, if he’s with his partner, he wouldn’t mind. he’s the type to do things with them that he hates lol. like let’s say he hates shopping in person, he’d still go for them.

- i think lee know can sometimes feel bad over the fact that he doesn’t have alot of time to be with his person, so he’d try hard to make time. lee know is really responsible, so he wouldn’t be late because of his partner or would never miss out on practice because of his partner. however, when he finally has time, he could be extremely tired, but he’d still try to fit them in. they would still have to be okay with him needing his alone time. lee know could be a little unpredictable with that stuff.

- i get some possessive vibes from him. i feel like he’d hate the thought of anyone else being with his partner, so he can become suspicious over little things. like, if his partner asked another man for their phone to look up smth and lee know is just there like ??? why didn’t u just ask me ? it would be little things like that. i did wanna add that lee know only gets this way when he’s in a deep serious relationship. if it’s still fresh or still in the dating phase, i don’t think he would gaf.

- im not gonna lie, i really feel like lee know is super detached so depending on the person, they can view this as a con. like someone high maintenance would not be able to be with him. he wouldn’t be the romantic type as well. but hey, ik a lot of people don’t like cheesy romantic shit lol.

thinking about teacher!gale single dad!john… john’s son (maybe like 8? 9? 10yo?) is acting up and he has to go meet his teacher and he comes in a little late straight from work (he’s a lawyer and works insane hours which is part of the problem) and holy shit he’s blown away when he sees the new homeroom teacher who’s the most gorgeous man he’s ever seen and he flirts the whole time despite being able to tell gale is a bit annoyed/confused by him but john can tell he warms up to him a bit during their meeting, and because he wants to see the pretty blonde again asap he volunteers as a supervisor for a night school next week.

once the kids are asleep he keeps flirting until gale relaxes completely in his presence but when he asks for his number gale is hesitant because he’s not sure if it’s good idea to date his student’s parents but he promises to think about it.

john is also serious about being better at spending time with his son no matter how busy work gets but it doesn’t hurt he can bump into gale every now and then too when he picks him up at school. maybe there’s some kind of an incident or smth i haven’t figured it out completely yet but eventually gale agrees to give him his number.

on their first date john learns that gale wanted to be a teacher because he had an unsafe chilhood home and school was his safe space and he wants to provide stability and tools for a good life for kids of all backgrounds. their romantic (and sexual) tension is insane now that gale can be a bit more relaxed when they are outside of the school context but maybe right when john is about to ask him home his son calls that he’s had a nightmare and wants to come home from the sleepover he’s at, and he’s apologizing so much for having to cut the night short but gale’s just like bruh you being a good dad is literally the hottest thing i can think of if anything this is improving your chances.

Anyway I've been thinking lately about Marius's handling of Daniel when he was "sick" (crazy) and what it says about him and his core values

Specifically:

Not informing Armand that Daniel was unwell and with him

And

Not tolerating Daniel's choice of creative outlet fully, namely not letting him use recycling and assorted objects to build his little cities and making him use only mass produced packs

I think both things are very telling of who Marius is as a person, he doesn't see Daniel and Armand's relationship as something valuable, he is blindsided when they get back together (which happens basically the second they are allowed the privacy to have a full conversation) and he doesn't think what Daniel is doing with his models as real art

I can't help but think he made sure Armand and Daniel didn't have contact those years because he knew if they did they would both abandon him, but he told himself (and maybe even believed that he was doing it to protect them both out of love)

He thinks love equals control and that love can not exist without hierarchy and subservience

I think the way that Marius treats Daniel and Armand when it comes to their creative outlets is rlly interesting and telling and I’m so happy u brought that up. I’ve always gotten the impression that Marius is kind of pretentious about art. He has the whole “control = love��� mentality and I think that’s plays into what he thinks art is/means. The way that Marius creates is by making exact replicas of real life or pre existing paintings with his vampire mimicking skills. So his art always comes off as very detailed and fascinating but also impersonal and in some way artificial. When he ends up accidentally inserting parts of himself into his work (like painting pandora into his piece when he’s thinking of her) he considers it in error and erases it. I get the impression that Marius considers art more the act of possessing smth preexisting and making it in his own image, taking control over it by immortalizing it, rather then expressing a part of himself or reflecting on some meaning.

he sort of pushes that perspective onto Daniel when hes under his care by making him use store bought items to create his models instead of letting him delve into his mind to sort through some creativity and make smth of his own. Marius likely thinks that by allowing Daniel to only build things in this specific correct way he is both teaching Daniel how to correctly make art and he is also controlling daniel and any kind of narrative that may be happening by restricting Daniel by exploring any of his self or emotions that Marius doesn’t have a say over. Daniel can’t delve into his “crazy” mind to create if Marius controls what he is creating, and I think Marius sees this as a good thing. The less access Daniel has to his sense of self the less likely he’ll go “mad” (and the less likely Marius won’t be able to keep him docile anymore)

when it comes to Armand, when Armand was a child he was very artistically skilled and inclined. He was so religious and faith meant sm to him that he only drew religious icons, which caused him to be taken advantage of and exploited by figures in his community. When he is sexually assaulted and sold into slavery he represses his childhood memories and his ability to paint. painting becomes traumatically triggering for Armand, and reminds him of how he feels like he’s lost his faith and connection to god bcus of what’s happened to him, and he refuses to do it. Instead of trying to encourage Armand to recontextualize his relationship with art and to use it as an outlet to regain his identity Marius instead takes advantage of the opportunity he sees of Armand being a blank slate and pushes his own views of religion and art onto him as to replace to old ones. I know Marius had good intentions there, and was probably like “by giving Armand a more positive view of this he will be less terrified”, but what he ends up doing is further depriving a slave child from his cultural identity and religious values by teaching him that his faith is the wrong type of faith and he should consume art the way marius does. Marius is once again asserting his control over someone in his care’s capacity for creativity by making sure his perspective is the one that is dominating the creation.

The way I see it, as an artist Marius understands the power of art and creation and knows that to keep his “love = control so these dudes I love need to be under my control” mentality he needs to limit how his loved ones r able to engage with their own creativity so that they aren’t tapping into a level of independence that is beyond Marius’s power.

I think this is also exactly why he limits Armand’s ability to interact with Daniel while he’s “sick”. Armand and daniels relationship is such a hurricane and Marius definitely knows that if he puts those two in the same room they r a force that he can’t push around to his will. But I think Marius is definitely telling himself that he’s separating Armand and Daniel bcus Armand is a mentally ill unstable lunatic who will ruin daniels brain and Daniel is too fragile to deal with that. I also think that since Armand and daniels relationship doesn’t follow this master and apprentice dynamic and is instead this emotional colorful hot mess crazy kid combo who can’t keep there hands off each other and r addicted to each others blood that it’s therefore Bad and Irresponsible (it is but it’s better then whatever Marius thinks is correct 💀) so he needs to be the big parent and protect them from themselves (keep them reliant on him so that they don’t leave him)

You knew when you woke up that morning that work would be utterly impossible. Every joint felt like it was made of lead, your head felt like it was filled with cotton wool and your stomach was screaming at you that something was definitely wrong.

You straightened up, immediately regretting your choice as you almost fell backwards. Your head hurt like hell, your whole body felt cold and you were shaking like jelly.

Last night you'd simply fallen asleep with a little headache and a scratchy throat, but that was nothing like the pain you were feeling now.

"Miguel?" you called, your lips heavy.

You'd been tired the day before, but not that tired. You looked at the clock on your bedside table; it was early enough for Miguel to still be in the flat, unless he was out for a morning jog.

You hesitated to call him again, considering how you seemed to be having trouble swallowing your own saliva. You swallowed, wincing as you felt as if your throat had been riddled with blows from the inside.

You made a second attempt to sit up, less abruptly this time. You were thinking, wondering what you could have done in the last few days to get yourself into something so violent.

You needed a painkiller, and you needed it fast if you wanted to keep your wits about you for the rest of the day. You turned slowly, placing your feet on the ground. You felt completely frozen.

You pushed on your legs, feeling for the moment as strong as a slightly overstretched elastic band. Once you were completely up on your feet, Miguel entered the room.

As you'd expected, he'd just come back from his morning jog.

"Good morning, nena," he smiled as he opened one of his wardrobe doors, not wanting to let you near him while he was still sweating.

You were almost jealous of his energy at the moment, how was it that you were feeling so unpleasantly uncomfortable and he was frolicking around like a lionless antelope?

"Mornin'," you croaked, swallowing and wrinkling your nose at the sensation as this simple gesture made you cough a couple of times.

Your cough was slightly heavy, which obviously surprised you as much as it did Miguel. He was putting on a new pullover, his head sticking out over the collar, revealing his furrowed brow.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, taking a few steps towards you.

"I don't know..." you tried to speak words, but it was as if you'd bitten them into pieces before spitting them out lazily.

Not at all satisfied with your answer, Miguel placed a hand on your cheek, his frown deepening as he placed his lips against your forehead.

You let out a sigh of relief, feeling the warmth of his body next to yours, easing the chill that clung to your skin.

"Cariño," he murmured, stepping back and looking into your glassy eyes, "you have a fever."

"It's all right," you mumbled as his hand, warm as tenderness, caressed your cheek with its thumb, letting your head sink into his palm as if onto a pillow.

The 'everything's fine' was more automatic than true. You knew how Miguel, despite his sometimes disinterested demeanour towards others, could become worried about you with frightening alacrity.

"When was the last time you had a day off?" he'd ask, sighing with an exasperation that sounded like 'you weren't careful were you'.

The effort of thinking about it gave you an expression as painful as if you were banging your head against a wall. So that's why you were so sick.

It's true that, come to think of it, you hadn't managed to get even a single second's respite for several weeks. You were filing paper after paper, spending the time you had when you got home wrapping up files, and the pace had given you the impression that you were gradually turning into a robot.

"Two weeks?" you suggested.

"Nena, you've been like this for over a month now," corrected Miguel.

"Fooling is my favourite thing to do," you purred, still pressing your head into his hand and closing your eyes.

"You shouldn't be pushing yourself so hard, it's not good for you," his tone was gentle, his eyebrows previously furrowed in frustration now knotted in worry.

"You're one to talk," you laughed softly, your eyes reopening to meet his gaze.

"I - yes, well," he admitted, biting the inside of his cheek. "Let's get you back into bed."

You weren't going to fight what you wanted most in the world right now, so Miguel gently helped you to lie down. It pained him to see you in such a state. No matter how many threats he fought, he couldn't stop you getting sick.

He piled the cushions behind your back to keep you comfortable, tucked you in carefully, and sat down beside you, one of his hands resting on your thigh covered by the blanket.

He stroked it with his thumb through the fabric, letting out a sigh followed by a thin smile that made him relax his shoulders.

"Tell me what you want for today, anything. Your favourite food, watch your favourite film, have me bring you anything. I'll stay with you today."

That Miguel would do you the honour of staying with you today, putting his work aside, almost made you want to cry. Whether it was joy or surprise, or both combined, you had no idea, but what was certain was that the sensations your body was sending you, which were quite pleasant, would undoubtedly be better in his presence.

"Let's start with a painkiller," Miguel suggested as he stood up and headed for your medicine cabinet, "and something to counter the fever."

"I was looking forward to living in agony for the rest of my life," you laughed to yourself as you waited for him to return.

The rest of the day was in stark contrast to everything you'd had to endure in the last month or so of relentless work. Miguel brought you food in bed, asked how your symptoms were progressing by the hour, and you watched a number of films that you enjoyed together.

He kept hugging you, softly caressing your skin, making sure you’d always finish your glass of water and wouldn’t stop for a second to be by your side.

He’d kiss your forehead, your cheeks and wouldn’t listen to you before kissing your lips. You kept telling him you didn’t want him to be this close to you for the sole reason that you didn’t want him to get sick as well. But he didn’t care, he didn’t care if he got sick, because the one who was ill as of now was you and you needed all the comfort you could get.

You couldn't have wished for a better miracle cure than Miguel's presence.

a nervous touchy animal who'll just run away if he is being yelled at or insulted too hard (being yelled at by allies and superiors feels much worse for guy than any loud noise or gunfire. poor thing) And even breaks windows to jump away from any height and floor. He really doesn't care and ABSOLUTELY ain't afraid of height. Luckily manages to survive. Fucking gymnast-acrobat. But how annoying he is. TO WORK WITH. You just stand close. sneeze at him not gently enough and HE DISAPPEARS. He gets along with colleagues pretty well... Well, by my AAHW metrics. He isn't popular or favorite, but he gets along with others pretty well and nobody avoids him. He is seen as very non-threating and weak. Or cute. However they call it. He is also pretty tactile (may occasionally try to hold hands or hug someone) and gentle in general, friendly fella. Gets along with mags pretty well and tried to comfort one when saw first time. Extremely good at chasing. Somehow manages to bounce around busy roadways and not become a pancake in the road, getting in windows, getting out, survive and not die on missions. Can do tricks on bicycles cooler than many bikers on motorcycles and usually steals any transport of that kind (but gentle enough to put it back after using). Very expercienced as someone who is being chased. Flee just runs out of AAHW casually without even any plan if triggered, breaks any shit on his way on impulse. And then gets back because Flee doesn't really know how he would survive, doesn't have a plan, and really don't want to leave job. Or, well, gets captured by agents and not even getting so far. His hair was torn out by other soldat who tried to capture him at first attempt to run away, but got kicked (Dan). They're becoming bffs later. Why he got such a weird reaction? Well. In my au every atp gets +- unique programs and modifications which makes them extremely mentally ill useful in different ways lol. ATPs gets their brain messed up and minmaxed in worst and unnatural ways, that's why many scared of it. Amnesia also isn't a good part. Flee was created in AAHW, and his modification ruined his fear-response, too much training created steel reflexes like unavoidable instincts, and messed ability to recognize threats. Guy is very fearless about combats, heights, insane tricks, absolutely doesn't care about risks of breaking any bone or dying (still will do a lot so colleagues won't), but will shit himself from fear and overwhelm if you just say smth mean to him loudly. If it would be done by few grunts he will get nightmares and flashbacks even. Because his sense of being punished and shame is also messed up. For the good of AAHW, of course. At first he was threatened and insulted a lot for this defect, because everyone was confused, then he was used on a trainings because damn he's like a cockroach. And then he was given a little safe place to run in it and not just out of aahw on the streets. aka personal space lmao, until they find out to fix it. But many coworkers find doing little pranks and scaring him funnier because the reaction is just too funny with all that jumping on highest surface in room, or running on all walls and then comedically hit head and FALL. Aaand he doesn't beat them up for it, he just runs as first reaction. Can even bump right into the agent who did it, like an NPC trying to run in a wall, pushing the poor guy like a fucking box in a videogame. Extremely funny idiot. So yeah he gets a lot of occasional jokes for not being aggressive enough. Not to coworkers. :D

Effie has albinism. She constantly changes out her wigs and hair dies her hair. She is described as outlandish hair, and with all the different fanarts, her skin is very pale skin , eyes are pale as well and eyebrows are always does. Often called outlandish- I image her being something that is very different and noticeable amongst the reason, in the best possible way

Gales family is all freakishly tall. Hazelle is likely to be average height for a women, but his father is the cause of all their heights, where I image he is like 6’5. Rory would be smth like 6’0, Vick would be the tallest at 6’4 (cuz he is the most like Gale) n posy would be a very comfortable being 5’8ish (cuz she is a lot like her mummy). I also think Gale looks a lot like Hazelle, but has strong features like his father. He was a mommas boy when a little kid. But rlly deeply loved his father, especially as he allowed Gale to free and express himself

Finnick has high-functioning anxiety and Annie has complexPTSD. finnick, when alone, can almost be unfuntional and fearful of himself. Concerned for other ppls safety and the effects of president snow. Annie has certain triggers from the hunger games. She is mostly functional and stable for the greater parts, however, involvement in and surrounding the games is painful for her. She desperate avoids the reapings and similar events. However, she will try is she can. Like using psychotherapy to calm equally anxious tributes n alleviate themselves (like she would w finnick).

Johanna is a raging bisexual- w a preference for girls. She initially became friends first w Annie, cuz she is a lot like her little brother. And then came close w Finnick too. Them two form the ‘ the protect Annalise (Annie) Cresta club’ and all hang out together when they would.

I have 2 theories about finnicks upbringing:

1. Finnick has a single father n was an only child too. Seeing from his victory of the games, it comes across less as a career act more as a a child who works w spear fishing. His father must of been a spear fisherman and/or catcher. This also was how he died too. Finnicks father would have disappeared/ died at the sea from a fishing accident n Snow saying it was circumstantial but all know it wasn’t.

2. Finnick was an orphan. He lost his family (parents and older sister) in a fishing accident young, like 9 and ended up in the orphanage. He learn to become charismatic to increase his chances of adoption, I think. I think this is also how he became close w Mags. She didn’t have any children, but would often visit orphanage n would treat them like her own children. Finnick caught her eye n they began to get increasingly closer. This family relationship only deepened when she ‘adopted’ his after his victory, calling him her ‘beautiful boy’ and ‘darling child’. My reason? They said in cf (don’t quote me though) that finnicks only ‘family is mags n Annie’

Peeta loves French toast. Cuz his family would have to eat stale bread, French toast would be a ✨ fancier way ✨ of reviving/ prolonging older breads loaves. He wouldn’t have this often to eat I imagine, but he would get if it was a bday treat n/or special treat for smth (like not being reaped or that). As an adult, he has it more often n katniss makes it for him every saturday to give him a little happiness
